Something satisfying and sweet about playing a githyanki while romancing Lae’zel. I definitely don’t have the words to fully explain the feeling but something like

Two people taken by their species’ sworn enemies and made thrall*

*Get lucky enough to not be enthralled actually

Also get lucky the ship crashed and you get out of your pod and find another of your kind immediately

They work well with you and other istiks that are infected (but also not enthralled??) and keep a good team of solid adventurers

Maybe they’re a little soft and help random istiks for no reason

Maybe they didn’t pay attention to learn all you know about these stupid ghaik

But they fight damn well and you’re obsessed

You follow all known protocol only to be nearly killed trying to be cured by your own people

Your godlike queen lies and betrays you (whether you see it yet or not) and this other gith simply seems to move on, they’ll survive with you even if that means without the rest of your entire race

The party will be cured, they’ll make sure if it

Okay wait kinda care about the istiks you’re traveling with

Okay wait more than obsessed with that other gith

Okay wait this fae run isn’t so bad

You now have hope for a future, no matter what happens now. Your future is beyond what bound you before, you’re free of your people and any royal loyalties you’ve held.

“Your people” are this gith (your gith, the source of your joy!) and the companions you keep, now and whomever you (or they) find later

And against all odds, after your entire past is torn to shreds, you do get a future

Currently, he's trapped indecisively between Gale and Astarion, who both seem quite taken with him (because who wouldn't be?). Things have progressed further with Astarion than Gale for the time being, but we'll see where things go in future. Maybe he'll manage to woo Lae'zel someday, maybe not. She doesn't seem to like him very much at the moment :(

I wanna know more about the red dragons the githyanki ride.

So they're gifted as part of the agreement between Vlaakith and Tiamat, right? But dragons are sapient creatures in dnd.

Are they full participants in the arrangement? Do they gain something ny serving as mounts to the githyanki?

Or are they fully subservient to Tiamat and don't have a choice? If so, do they chafe under their servitude, or are they pleased to serve their mistress?

idk, I know red dragons are evil so the answer is probably that nobody thought about it much because who cares, but I'm super curious how they feel about being glorified carriages to a bunch of astral assholes

The tadfools were just SO connected for such a long amount of time that I can't imagine them seeing each other as anything but family after a good run, especially a good Resist Durge run. I think they'd swoop right in for one another like they were siblings if they absolutely needed something.
