Izutsumi still has cat instincts, so I can picture her getting the urge to basically brush/groom loved ones after injuries. Idk abt anyone else?

My interpretation of this art (it's from one of the Daydream Hour issues!) is that Chilchuck took the time to prepare the chest, wear the mimic costume, get inside and give his daughters a fun little jumpscare when they opened it, but they were either not impressed, didn't get it, or just wanted the candy, so he just went. Deep fatherly sigh.

Okay, okay, now I understand, yeah... Marcille is playing Dwarf Fortress and programming circuit networks in Factorio and CHILCHUCK is playing Animal Crossing. It's not his thing but his daughters love it so he started playing to give them bells and get rare items and fish and never stopped.

Because Senshi’s Diary specifically looks at Chilchuck and is like “oh. This poor orphaned boy being forced into danger to survive. :C I should give him snack.” While Chilchuck basically hisses in the background like SCREW YOU I’M TOO OLD TO BE GIVEN ORANGE SLICES LIKE A LITTLE KID PLAYING OUT IN THE SUN.

And immediately you cut to the B Roll Party and there’s Mickbell, actual orphan, like CAN YOU BELIEVE THE GUILD THAT CRUSTY OLD MAN STARTED WON’T GIVE MY DOG A MEMBERSHIP? ANYWAY I HATE HIM FOREVER. Stuffing a fistful of milkbones in Kuro’s vest.

Then this happens.

Immediately before Chilchuck gets Saddled With Being Izutsumi’s favorite and becomes a Cat Dad whether he wants to or not.

I think it’s really cute that Mickbell called Chilchuck a greedy old geezer and was like ‘nyeh nyeh 😠🖕fuck you’ and was giving him the stinkeye from a distance when their parties met up.

and despite that, Chilchuck had no hesitations about taking him to hide in safety. and then they were chill enough to talk shit with each other later lol
