PART 5

There is nothing worse to Saki than working on a rainy day. The family trip was better than she could ever expect. She seized those moments to renew her energies after a hectic month at work.

Helping her partner go to the hospital for a week was not a problem at all, but she definitely felt exhausted dealing with so many things at work. As Ginsei was unable to work due to a medical recommendation, she had a lot on her hands in the past few weeks.

Now she was more than excited to go back to her routine, but she always gets irritated doing patrols on rainy days.

Ginsei - For how long you’re gonna keep sulking?

Saki - Just leave me, okay? This shitty weather ruined my day!

Ginsei - Hehe. As you wish, ma’am.

Saki - And you should be used to it by now. I want to go to a cozy…

They were casually chatting in the car when Ginseis notices a suspect on the street.

Ginsei - Look at that guy over there.

Saki - Is that the guy you said you tried to arrest yesterday?

Ginsei - Yep. He was seen by some civilians stealing some women’s purses in this area. What about we make a bet?

Saki - What?

Ginsei - If we catch him today, you stop complaining about the rain, and I’ll reward you.

Saki - What kind of reward?

Ginsei - That I can’t say yet.

Saki - Hmm… Okay. I’ll trust you this time. Let’s go

The cops left their car and approached the suspect to ask some questions. Ginsei already knew who he was, but they had to follow the procedure.

While Saki was taking a look at the suspect's documents, he tried to run away, but Ginsei was fast enough to immobilize the criminal to take him to the police station.

At the end of the day...

Saki - Hey, Ginsei. You finished?

Ginsei - Yep. Can you follow me for a sec?

Saki - Sure.

Saki then follows her partner to his car at the station's parking lot. He opens the glove compartment to get a tiny box.

Ginsei - Here. For you.

Saki - Huh?

Ginsei - Your reward. I told you, didn’t I?

Saki - …

Ginsei - Come on. Open it.

Saki - Wow, it’s a necklace. That’s really cute. How did you find time to buy this in the first place?

Ginsei - Does it matter?

Saki - *chuckles* Will you give me a gift every time I have to patrol on a rainy day?

Ginsei - No way. It was just this time.

Saki - I suppose I’ll have to accept it then heheh.

While the two partners were casually teasing each other, some of their colleagues watched from afar that unexpected moment.

No one said a word, but it was a consensus that Ginsei’s priorities may have changed quite a bit after the last events at the police station.

The question is how things will turn out for them once Ginsei finds out that Saki will receive a promotion to work in another district…

Happy Holidays, Ginsei!

Day 3 of my Happy Holidays series! (Yes, I know it's about 10 days late lol). Kudos to those of you who got to see the Halloween shows Blackstar did in October and December and notice my reference!

Out of all of the gifts I had made or collected since last Christmas, Ginsei's was the smallest.

I clutched the small box tight in my hand as I wandered through the crowds of fans after the mixed team Christmas show, on a mission to both give him the Christmas gift and to rescue him from the clutches of the fiendish fans. Part of the mission would be easy enough - I just had to find the most concentrated gathering of people and I was sure I would find Ginsei in the middle of it. The hard part would be extricating him from the grip of the fans.

A sudden cheer caught my attention and I turned my head towards the sound. Sure enough, there was Ginsei in his costume for "Without Her", looking slightly awkward amidst the predominantly female group.

I looked around, trying to form a plan on how to save the ikemen, when I noticed that Rindou, Sinju, Takami and Hari were all occupied and wouldn't be available. That meant I had to go for someone else as a scapegoat.

With a lot of effort, clutching the small box tight, I managed to push my way through the crowd and stopped behind him, calling out to him. He turned around and gave me a bright, relieved, smile.

"_________! What's going on?" "Kei needs to see you about something. I think the jewelry in his costume got caught on a table and needs to be fixed."

Ginsei rolled his eyes and sighed. "Why does that not surprise me? I'm sorry everyone, I have to get back to work."

There were a chorus of voices expressing upset, but Ginsei practically dragged me away with him. I couldn't help the affectionate smile on my lips as we made our way to the backstage and towards where Kei was likely changing back into his regular clothing.

"Where is he? Can you let him know I'm on my way? I just need to grab my repair kit from the locker room." I held tight to his hand when he tried to pull away, and he turned to face me with a questioning look.

"I lied. Kei doesn't need you, I just needed to get you away from the masses."

Ginsei's eyes widened in surprise and understanding and I watched as a faint pink tint bloomed on his cheeks. "What, um, did you need to do that for?"

I took a step back to make him more comfortable and held out the box with both hands. "Merry Christmas!"

Ginsei slowly took the box from me and unwrapped it. When he opened it, his lavender eyes lit up at the sight of the silver star-shaped pendant on a sturdy, yet delicate-looking chain.

"Did you make this?"

I nodded. "I've been practicing after you taught me a few things. So I made this star and put a piece of Wavelight in the middle, held in there with the wrapped wires."

"This is great! You did an amazing job!" Ginsei took the gift out of the box and started to attempt to put it on, but was met with trouble when he couldn't quite reach behind his head because of his costume being so snug of a fit. I laid my head in the palm of one hand and watched him make a few attempts before he looked at me sheepishly. "I may need some help."

I took the necklace out of his waiting hands, unhooked the clasp and reached behind him on tip-toes. I could feel a large amount of heat coming off of him at my close proximity, so I tried to hurry. When I tried to pull away, I felt a tugging sensation and slight pain in my ear and heard a grunt from him.

"I think our earrings are snagged."

It was a couple minutes of struggle before we managed to separate and by then, half of the cast had passed by and either laughed at the conundrum we found ourselves in, or made comments like "Get a room if you want to make out."

Same! I'm so happy that you send in the ask. Out of curiosity, how many questions do you have? Considering that Donut keeps adding questions 100s of questions with each chapter lol.

Some people were saying that the boy on the hill is Kongou because he showed up in that final chapter. The other characters had some sort of connection to MC (Heath/Kei being childhood friends, Zakuro/Sin wanting MC to remember), but Kongou...was just there. Look at this...someone with short hair who is wearing a long t-shirt. Both kid Kokuyou and kid Heath are wearing t-shirts.

Oh so there's another theory with the hospital lights: Kokuyou getting surgery for his injury and/or Heath giving one of his organs to MC. Another theory suggested that Heath's sickness is a result of his sacrifice to save MC's life. Hm...that makes me think...could it be possible that kid MC was injured, kid Kokuyou got involved to save her, and took the dog tag from her in the process? It's serves as a memory of MC? (GUESS WHAT MY NEXT FANFIC IS GOING TO BE! XD)

Speaking of hospitals and human trafficking...the Judas and Bad Blood MVs would make sense. Judas is set in what looks like a mental asylum or an abandoned hospital while Bad Blood looks like a prison with smaller cages (maybe for kids). Oh, two questions that popped up during that chapter: why is Ran the only one not behind bars, and why is Takami holding keys like a jailer?

You're theory about the CD is right. There is definitely a trigger in the CD that is making MC remember her erased past. That's actually very interesting...playing on your theory, maybe Kei was also meant to be experimented on, but one of the scientists helped him escape (be it out of attachment or guilt), and the scientist/doctor adopted Kei. We know that Kei is from a VERY powerful and affluent family...his family has connections. Though it is odd that Heath still has his memories while MC doesn't. Hm that reminds me someone said that Kokuyou might have gaps in his memories as well. We've no proof of that though.

What if Heath wasn't involved in the experiments, rather he attempted to help MC? Maybe that's why he hasn't lost his memories because he wasn't conditioned/experimented on. IKR! Can we get a little more info, please? T--T Oh, let's not forget Sin's borderline 1 event card...who is that person in the background? Nekome? Younger Sin? Someone we don't know at all?

Actually, the Starless being a front for something has been suggested before. In that case, the Mikis around be bad people, but from what Ginsei says about them (especially Koharu), that seems unlikely. Ginsei could've been kept away from all the things happening in the background. Also, someone suggested that Iwami could be MC's father or guardian. He sold MC to pay off debt or let her be used for an experiment. We don't know much about the missing people...though this chapter may reveal more about Nekome. OH and someone new said on the phone "it's time for me to make my comeback". Maybe it is Nekome.

Yeah, I've heard of the first love theory, but he had the dog tag as a kid. It's odd that a kid would get a dog tag. Also considering that Kokuyou is hinted to be from the streets, it wouldn't make sense for a street kid to have enough money to get a dog tag. Also...would any adult make a dog tag for a kid? O.O Yeah, dog tags are originally meant for soldiers as a means of identifying them in case they're found injured or deceased. Nowadays, some people do wear it as fashion, or a means of remembering someone they lost. But Heath said something along the lines of how MC's aura reminds him of Chiaki. So...is Takamori or Chiaki the first name? Both can be used as a name and last name. Usually, the military dog tags are last name first. Maybe someone he admired, or someone who helped him, or someone he tried to help? Yeah...Kokuyou didn't answer that question...or the question about his dog tag. T___T

LOL I feel like Borderline 2 didn't have as much plot drama as Borderline 1. Everyone, including Donut, was too focused on the ranking lol.

I hope you're Wednesday is going well! I swear, I don't mean to have questions almost daily lol. I know it would likely never happen because of 5 what I've heard about their past together and their teams styles being very different, but it's bad I wish Heath and Keith would do a song together like how Akira gets featured in Team B songs? If they did, his do you think it would go?

Hi~! Please send in questions daily, I love reading and answering non-request asks! Actually, I think a duet with Heath and Kei is possible. Plot spoilers below!

What we know is that Kei, Heath, and MC are childhood friends. But Donut has yet to tell us how they know each other. Some of the theories revolve around them being orphans and meeting at an orphanage. A convo between Kei and Heath revealed that Kei managed to leave but Heath and MC were left behind. 

Now, if we go with the orphanage theory, we can assume that Kei was adopted, but Heath and MC were not as lucky. If we go with they’re not orphans theory, then maybe something where the three of them go into trouble, and only Kei managed to escape. Heath mentioned that Kei didn’t have to suffer because he was able to leave, and even suggested that Kei abandoned them. Either way, there have been hints that something BAD happened in their past. One of the darker theories suggests that the three of them were victims of human trafficking, or the orphanage was running a human trafficking business. 

So, we know that Kei left for the USA 15 years ago, and that would mean he’s around 9 or 10 years old. (I’m sorry but I’ve got issues with Heath accusing a 9-year old of abandoning them. Idk the whole story, but regardless, that topic is for another time.) Back to Kei being lucky, either he was adopted or his family managed to rescue him in time. That may be the reason why they took him overseas (to protect him from the organization targeting them). 

In the beginning, Heath was okay with Kei being around, but then MC fainted, and Heath started pointing fingers at Kei. Rico added quite a bit of fuel to that fire. Kei has always been soft towards Heath and cares for him, and when Heath blamed him for letting MC faint, Kei didn’t say anything. EVEN THOUGH Zakuro and Sin were responsible, Kei quietly took the blame. 

It seems like Heath just wants to protect MC, but he needs to take a deep breath and re-evaluate certain situations. He is a calm guy, but when MC gets hurt, his personality shifts into berserker mode. If Heath can see the fact that Kei has a lot on his plate and is doing his best to look out for MC/Starless, then maybe the duet is possible. Though I will say rather than Kei singing with Team B (like Akira), a mixed team event would work better. If Kei attempted to sing with Team B, then Rico would not let anyone live in peace. 😂

TL;DR: If Heath can see Kei’s efforts and realize that Kei is not the one targeting MC, then a duet is possible. Mixed team event though because Rico would turn into Hulk if Kei attempted to sing with Team B.

how I know... I suck at writing but here’s a one-shot I just thought up now while listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr14PqaTzQc (kinda funny, since I chose this for Seb and me but after listening more it fits both guys) Anyways... on to my crappy but mushy/angsty one-shot fanfic. It takes place during the six heart event. I warn you it is long and...if you don’t like it then just move along.

Everything...

It was a storming early summer evening, after making sure all my animals were dry and fed and my cat Ginsey inside my house I hear the sound of a Junimo and follow it outside.

It leads me into Cindersap Forest...towards...Shane?!

There in the pouring rain laying down on the muddy cold grass surrounded by empty beer cans near the cliff. I run towards him to help.

“...Jessica... I-I’m sorry *hic* ... My life... It’s a pathetic joke...Look at me... Why do I even try? *sob*  ... I’m too small and stupid to take control of my life... I’m just a..... p...piece of soiled garbage fluttering in the wind...”

I crouch down closer to him, I know this feeling too well... Back at the old home...the old job... I was just another cog for Joja, an expendable pawn..easy to replace...something my old boss hammered into me while telling me how worthless I was since I was “too slow” but kept me anyway “out of the goodness of our hearts” as it was the only job that let me even have a home. They got me when I was looking for an apartment. It was perfect, Joja corp owned a beautiful apartment complex and rent was affordable and even less rent to pay if I decided to work for them...I was so vulnerable...I wanted a home away from family drama, a place where I could be alone when I wanted to without scraping by paycheck to paycheck just to feed myself and pay bills. It was no help any coworkers I did see would just treat me like trash, heh they’d be happy if I was dead...one less slow, ugly, shy, woman to put up with...but I put up with it cause the pay was good...and I put up with a lot, then I read that letter my grandfather left for me and well the rest is history.

I wanted to hug him, but I had only barely gotten to know him. I didn’t want to add on to his pain he was already dealing with but I wanted to help.

“... I’ve been coming here often lately...looking down...”

“Oh no...” I thought, inching just a little closer getting myself ready should the worst happen.

“Here’s a chance to finally take control of my life... These cliffs...B bu...but I’m too scared too anxious. Just like always...”

I get to my feet, I almost reach my hand out.

“Jessica... All I do is work, sleep, and drink... t ...to dull the feelings of self-hatred. Why should I even go on? Tell me...T...tell me why I shouldn't just roll off this cliff right now...”

While tears stream down my face (that are masked by the rain) most in this situation would say words they think would “cheer” someone up, to pull them out of the pit they had dug...But I knew...as someone who also has depression (though I kept it under wraps best I could, I mean as far as townfolks know I’m the new girl who moved into that run-down farm in the forest to get away from the noise of the city.) What you need more when you feel hopeless is just to know someone is willing to listen to you and will support you no matter what choice you make...but I was also scared...Though I have begun to see more of this man I was afraid of losing him...just what do I say?! what are the right words to keep him from falling off the literal edge?

A flash of lightning, as if like a lightbulb in my mind made me think and then say “The decision is your own. Just know that I am here for you.”

You are the light, that's leading me, to the place where I find peace again.

A rumble of distant thunder in the distance goes off.

“Thanks... I appreciate that...I really do...”

You are the strength that keeps me walking.

“Jessica...”

I crouch back down

“...I think you should take me to the hospital now.”

I gather all the strength I can, begging for Yoba to give me the strength I need right now to lift him to his feet and walk him to Dr. Harvey’s office and that he would answer the door. Please Yoba...grant me strength and please let Dr. Harvey be at the door!

“I will get you there as fast as I can, don’t worry...I will!”

You are the hope that keeps me trusting.

I know not how long or short it took but I was in front of Dr. Harvey’s door. I knocked with my free fist like life depended on it cause it very well did! “Please open, please open, PLEASE OPEN!”

The door cracks open, the doctor pocking his head out “come in come in!” he ushered us inside and takes Shane into the hospital room and I follow but stopped. Right. He needs to be alone with him first. So I sit back in the waiting room. I’m not sure if It’s the haze from the fog and rain droplets on my glasses but I think he looked back at me and smiled.

You are the life to my soul.

And what felt like hours Dr. Harvey calls me into the room Shane is in.

“I’ve pumped his stomach and re-hydrated his body. He’s going to be okay” I could feel my worries lift away. He then looked at the chart he was holding. “It’s good that you brought him in, though.”  He looks at me and then back to his chart. “Too much alcohol is terrible for the body... but right now I‘m most worried about his mental health...When he comes to I’ll have a chat with him about his treatment options. I know an excellent counselor in Zuzu city...” Dr. Harvey puts a supportive hand on my shoulder. “Life can be painful, sometimes...But there’s always hope for a better future. You’ve got to believe in that.” I nodded in agreement.

“Well if you wish to spend a little time with him you may but don’t stay too late, you also need to take care of yourself too, you know?” And with that Dr. Harvey left and went back to his room upstairs.

“Y...you should go home...I will be fine...thanks to you.” He mumbles to me.

I sit on the hospital bed next to him without a word and pull his head gently to my chest

“I just wanna say good night, and to have a restful sleep. I’ll see you in the morning, okay?”

I gently place him back down on the pillow and get off the bed to leave. I look back one more time before I shut the door behind me.

You are my purpose. You’re everything.

The next morning.

The morning sun greets me as I get up to start another day, watering my crops and tending to my animals. It’s a beautiful morning when I walk out the door after breakfast. And then I hear his voice.

“Hey...”

I was just going to check on you, you look so much better. I think to myself

“Oh man...uh... how do I say this? I’m really sorry about what happened at the cliffs. That was...Embarrassing.”

I smile at him and say “I’m glad I was there to help.”

He looks around, back at me and then around and back at me and says back “...Yeah, Me too.”

He then tells me that he is going to start going to a counselor that Dr. Harvey recommended.

“Anyway...I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me. And I want you to know that I’m going to take things a little more seriously from now on. I don’t want to be a burden on anyone...”

He turns to leave but just before he leaves my farm to go back to town.

“By the way...your chest was so much warmer than the pillows...and softer too”

And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?

Oh, yoba...he remembers THAT?! I can feel the heat on my face...thank Yoba he can’t see my face right now. I’m a mess and I didn’t even get started on my work! Oh geez, I wonder what he’s thinking right now? Oh! my peppers are ripe, I should bring him some when he’s done work. Today is shaping up to be a wonderful one.

I'm thinking of a sweet revenge 💔 on an author who portrayed my favorite hakuouki characters 🌸 in a way that made me sooooo sad 😢 and mad 😠 😡 😤

One thing I noticed only after writing Kazama x Chizuru fanfic is that Chizuru is so sociable overall, and that's probably one of the reasons she loves the Shinsengumi so much, and Kazama is not sociable and outgoing and that much of an extrovert like her.

I was reading a hakuouki fanfic. Then I decided to comment, and then I realized that a Hakuouki fan author whose works I hate had left a comment there before. So I refrained from leaving a comment, and I erased that whole fanfic from my search history and closed the tab, and forgot about that fanfic.

Spoilers a head from this fanfic

In this fanfic, Heisuke says something like "you disobeyed me" or "you lied to me" because Chizuru put herself in what he considered dangerous. Chizuru even cries and tells Heisuke not to hate her. He reassures her that he doesn't hate her and that he has to go back to work, so they speak later. When he returns home, he finds the bedroom door locked and thinks that she is sulking or is going to fight him then she has a talk with him from behind the door then allows him to enter with the condition of keeping his eyes closed and then speaks with him more then hug him and tells him to open his eyes then they have a very romantic night.

I believe if it was Kazama who said such a thing to her and fought with her, then she would not act the same way she did with Heisuke at all. I believe she would be extremely disturbed and turned off by him, and she would fight back and would not cry at all or would cry but still fight.

And, of course, she would not make up with him by having a very romantic night or anything like that. She probably keeps the door locked on purpose, or she leaves to another room.

Kazama's character and behavior are what would force her to act like that.

I believe if Kazama was the guy in this story instead of Heisuke, then Chizuru would not forgive him at all for raising his at her and fighting with her in public and dragging her from her arm.

She would be extremely disturbed, and she would not make love with him at all, and she would not even accept his apology if he tried to make up.

Chizuru's escaping attempt in Harada's route tells us how reckless she can be.

I'm talking about when she escaped to the forest and wolves attacked her before Harada arrived and rescued her.

That's why in my fanfic she attempts escaping despite knowing all the dangers.

I'm trying to write Chizuru as accurately as possible.

PART 3

It has been two days since Ginsei came back to work. Due to medical recommendations, he can only do paperwork. Physical activities are prohibited for the time being. The pursuing team is now complete once again. They are all gathering at the police station to plan their final attempt. They got a bunch of info about the burglar and his gang. If everything goes well, today they can finally arrest the criminals. They set a trap in another mall to see if the burglar will bite the bait and rob the store. The pursuing team will let the burglar escape on purpose to follow him. They already have a good idea of where their hideout is, but just in case, they will not make a move until they see the burglar entering his domains. A few hours have passed since the burglar robbed the store. Saki and other cops are patiently waiting for the right time to enter his hideout. This time, they will catch them by surprise. Police Officer - Ma’am, we have just confirmed that they are all inside the building. As we thought, they are moving in a few minutes to their other hideout with the items they stole. Saki - Make sure to puncture the tires of their vehicles to reduce their possibilities. I don't think they'll get that far, but it's better to be safe than sorry. When they start to leave the building, you shoot. Did you lock all the other way-outs? Police Officer - Yes. They can only leave the building using the main entrance. Saki - Awesome. Get ready, then. After waiting a few more minutes, the burglar and his gang finally left the building without noticing that all the other way-outs were locked. Before they could go back inside, the pursuing team aims their guns at the criminals, who were all unarmed, and quickly arrest them all without problems. This time, the mission was a success thanks to their teamwork. Now Ginsei and Saki must report to their superiors and move on to the next mission. ** At the police station… Saki - Ahh, finally! It’s over. It was faster than I thought though. Ginsei - Yep, I thought they were going to criticize our decisions today. But, apparently, they were in a good mood. Ginsei - Do you think we’ll get any reprimand after failing to capture them the first time? Saki - I heard some rumors here and there when you are not here, and it looks like they will not punish us this time as they are busy dealing with bigger problems now. Ginsei - I guess they considered that we didn’t put at risk the life of the civilians. So… there was not much to say. Saki - That’s true. Well… Now that this mission is over, and I kept up my end of the bargain, it’s your time to do the same. Ginsei - Argh… You had to mention that, didn’t you? Fine. Saki - Hehe. Don’t worry. One week really flies by. You will miss my company after that. Ginsei - Right…

Ginsei’s housekeeper - Mr. Ginsei, will Mrs. Saki have lunch with you today?

Ginsei - Oh, I actually didn’t…

Saki - Unfortunately, not. Ginsei is already tired of me babysitting him every single day hahah.

Ginsei - *chuckles* I can’t deny that…

Ginsei’s housekeeper - Oh, what a shame, miss. I think Mr. Ginsei is way less grumpy when you spend the day with him.

Ginsei - Where did that come from?

Saki - *chuckles* You two are funny, I’ll give you that. Well… Let’s get going. You can’t get late for your scheduled exams.

Saki and Ginsei left for another doctor’s appointment. As agreed, Ginsei is doing all the exams the doctors requested.

It has been almost a week now since Saki started to accompany him to the hospital. She always waits patiently until he finishes all the tests.

Surprisingly, Ginsei is no longer complaining about his new “mission”. Some say that Saki’s presence encourages Ginsei to take all the tests he needs. No one knows if he sees that as some sort of competition between him and Saki to show her that he is ready to come back to his duties, or if he is just enjoying spending time with her.

It is quite rare to see Ginsei taking care of his health or just doing daily activities with someone else. No wonder his acquaintances and family call him a workaholic.

It’s not like he doesn’t like to go to social gatherings here and there, especially considering he is very popular with the ladies. But, most of the time, he gets excited when he is in action, arresting bad guys and protecting civilians. He has always been like that since the first day he met Saki.

Doctor 1 - Ok, Ginsei. I think we are done for today.

Ginsei - Thank god! I can’t wait to get out of this hospital.

Ginsei - Tomorrow is the last day, right?

Doctor 1 - *chuckles* Yes. You just have one more exam and then we will discuss your test results.

Ginsei - Nice! For the first time, I’m happy to say I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow hahaha.

Saki - Jeez, you know this is your fault, right? If you had taken care of your health properly throughout the year, you wouldn’t have to take so many exams.

Doctor 1 - And please make sure you’ll be here again tomorrow, miss. This way we know he won’t try to escape.

Saki - Sure do!

It’s the next and final day of Ginsei’s “mission”. He just can’t believe he managed to keep his promise.

After entering the hospital, he went straight ahead to the exam room. Luckily, this last exam is pretty simple and it won’t take much of his time. Saki is waiting for him in another room to give him privacy while he takes his tests and talks to the doctors about his medical condition.

Forty minutes later, Ginsei has already left the exam room and he is now at the doctor’s room to hear what he has to say.

And he receives good news. The doctor said his leg is fully healed and all the additional exams were good as well, which means he can go back to his patrols.

Ginsei tells Saki about the news and she gets excited for him. To celebrate that, Ginsei invites Saki to have lunch with him at his house. His housekeeper is a great cook, and she knows exactly what kind of food Saki likes. After all, they have been treating her almost every day as a thank-you for encouraging him to do the exams.

However, unlike most of the other days, Saki has other plans.

Saki - Oh, I’d love to. But I have something else on.

Ginsei - I see… No worries. I’ll see you at work tomorrow, then.

Saki - Yeah, sure. See ya!

Ginsei goes home by himself for the first time in a week, and also for the first time in God knows how long, he feels uneasy alone.

The next day, he goes to the police station to see his schedule for the week. But he gets shocked when he hears some colleagues saying that Saki took a one-week vacation.

Ginsei - Hey! What are you guys talking about?

Police Officer 2 - Oh, welcome back, sir! We’re glad you got better.

Ginsei - Ah, thanks. Were you talking about Saki by chance?

Police Officer 2 - Oh yeah. We’re talking about Mrs. Saki’s vacation. I don’t even remember when was the last time she took a vacation. It feels strange, right?

Ginsei - Yeah, I agree. That’s actually weird coming from her. You know if something happened?

Police Officer 2 - It looks like her family wanted to take a family trip and as she didn’t have anything scheduled for this week, she took the opportunity to relax with her family.

Ginsei - That’s nice. If there is someone who deserves a break, it’s her. Well… she may not be here, but I am. No slacking, huh?

Police Officer 2 - Don’t worry, sir. We are ready anytime you need.

Ginsei - Good, cuz I’m also ready for some action.

Ginsei's bday 2022 - Rapport (part 2)

PART 2

Ginsei - I told you that was not necessary! I’m totally fine! I can go back to work tomorrow.

Police officer - Sir, I know you love your work, but that was not what Ms. Saki said. She was crystal clear: “Ginsei must follow the doctor's instructions in order to get better soon. He will not be allowed to go back to the police station before the specified date. I have a copy of his medical certificate and I…”

Ginsei - Yeah, yeah. I know. And she talked to the doctors at the hospital… That was the exact same thing you told me last week.

Ginsei - What I can’t understand is why you don’t let me talk to her!

Police officer - That’s because Ms. Saki and our pursuing team are busy trying to arrest the criminals who shot at us.

Ginsei - That’s exactly why I need to go back now! I can help you catch them. Even if my leg is still immobilized, I can give orders and organize our group from a safe place.

Police Officer - *signs* You can’t take a no from an answer, can you, Sir?

Ginsei - No, I can't. So if you could please just call her now, I can solve this situation in a blink of an eye. She worked with me several times and knows how capable I am to adapt to any situation. This injured leg won’t stop me from doing my duty!

The officer calls Saki to explain the situation. As this is not the first time Ginsei persuades the officer to convince Saki he can go back to work, she was not surprised to hear that he is trying to talk about his condition… again.

Police Officer - So, as I was saying Ms. Saki, we have this situation and…

Saki - I understand. You tell him I’ll go to his house then.

Police Officer - Right… You… What? Are you serious, ma’am?

Saki - Yeah. I’ll be there in a jiffy.

Police Officer - Oh my god…

Ginsei - What? What did she say?

Police Officer - She is personally coming to talk to you, sir.

Ginsei - *celebrates* Yes! I told you! Finally, we’ll settle this now.

30 minutes passed since Saki told them she would visit Ginsei. When she was parking her car, she saw her colleague who had called her a while ago.

Saki - Hey, where are you going?

Police Officer - Oh, ma’am. I’m glad you are here. I just couldn’t keep listening to his complaints about how miserable his life is right now. So I’ll just go home to try to relax a bit.

Saki - *chuckles* No problem, I understand he can be very annoying when people don’t do what he wants. Why do you think I don’t answer the phone when he calls?

Police Officer - *chuckles* That’s a clever idea if I may say it. Well, good luck, ma’am.

Saki - Thank you.

Ginsei hears the noise of footsteps close to his doors and asks his employee to open the door for him, as he can't get up due to his leg injury.

Saki - Hi, Ginsei. How are you?

Ginsei - Well, let’s say that I’m quite optimistic right now.

Saki - *chuckles* Jeez, I wonder why? Did your leg miraculously get better?

Ginsei - Not yet, but I’m pretty sure that this will not be a problem anymore in a few days.

Ginsei’s housekeeper - Would you like a glass of water, ma’am?

Saki - Oh no, thank you. It won’t take long.

Ginsei - And I don’t want to take much of your time either. Let’s get to business. You didn’t catch those scumbags yet, right? I can coordinate our team to solve this once and for all.

Saki - Did someone tell you about our current situation? That we were following someone close to the gang to find their location?

Ginsei - Yep, I know all the details. And I already have a plan to catch them faster.

Saki - Is that so? Well, so I’ll give you a chance tomorrow. You can go back to your office at the station so we can come up with a suitable strategy for tomorrow’s pursuit.

Ginsei - Really? Just like that? Well... It's a deal then.

Saki - Great. But before I forget, there is something I need to tell you.

Ginsei - I knew there was a catch… It couldn’t be that easy. You’ve been avoiding me for a week.

Saki - Hehe. You can go back to work within your capacity, but once we catch them, you must go to your doctor’s appointment to do additional exams. And I’ll personally take you there to make sure you are not going to escape.

Ginsei - Jeez… It looks like it can’t be helped. Ok. It’s settled then.
