Ging

You met him strictly by chance.

The most likely way you came in contact with Ging is when he finally decided to let loose and make his annual appearance to the world — so basically when he was drinking.

While sitting at a bar, he glances over to notice your silence and casually starts a conversation with you. A stale one-liner such as “You come here often?�� or “That drink looks awful, you should give it to me” leaves his lips as he's already become tipsy.

He jokes a lot with you throughout the night, will probably read you like a book if you came to drink away your problems, and pulls you onto the dance floor if he's really had too many drinks.

Ging has a hard time getting close to others, so if he does find you attractive, it simply stops there. Though, Ging is often riddled with boredom, so if your personality does manage to intrigue him that night he would be drawn to you and want to stick around for the thrill.

It’s hard to get in contact with him afterward, but he always remembers you after that encounter. 

Silva 

Silva is hard to just... meet. He keeps his life very private and rarely makes an appearance unless absolutely necessary. You have to have some sort of connection such as being an esteemed assassin with affluence or working in his estate to be noticed by him and even then it is unlikely. 

If you were to take the assassin route, you would need outstanding talent to catch his eye. Maybe you’d meet in a business meeting, your confident posture and demeanor catching his attention instantly. He most likely already read your file and was thoroughly impressed at what he found and saw in person. 

If you took the estate route, you would have to be really good at your job to stand out to him. You would have to be skillful in combat, or if you visit his hideaway and serve him often, you could possibly spark a relationship in that way. Though, if Kikyo is in the picture, you would be an immediate target simply for being too close to Silva.

Kite

You would probably meet in an outdoor setting. Maybe Kite stumbled upon a floral shop just as you were browsing the shelves of flowers, or maybe he saw you sitting peacefully at a park feeding the birds just as he was studying the different insects in that area. 

Regardless, Kite would like that you appreciated nature. He probably wouldn't speak first because he's more on the introverted side, and if he did finally come up to you, it would take him a while as he had spent his time observing you.

Kite's impression of you would be that you were sweet, and he would be delighted if you shared the same interests as him. Overall, if you guys happened to run into each other again, Kite would see it as fate and more than a coincidence and likely ask if you'd like to go on a date with him sometime.

I believe that he can do math simply because he doesn't seem like he can do math. He's more "party tricks and shock value" than "genuine human person" and i think that seeing him solving equations for fun would send someone into cardiac arrest instantly

Illumi

He could do math, but it's not super relevant to his everyday life so he usually doesn't bother. literally just get a calculator it's not that serious. there are way more useful skills to have. like invulnerability to every poison.

Chrollo

Can do math in practice but not in theory. Like he could probably do some pretty sophisticated calculations in his head mid-battle to figure out the trajectory of his opponent's attack based on the initial velocity and the angle the projectile was fired at (of course taking weather and other external conditions into account), but wouldn't be able to complete a timed multiplication worksheet for children

if your not they’ll be especially protective of you and at least one of them is near you at all times

things don’t get any safer after you become hunters so they’ll either teach you nen or as a last resort send you to live with aunt mito

as long as it’s not too dangerous they’ll let you choose which one

also they feel disappointed in themselves after getting kidnapped by the phantom troupe, because it proves they aren’t strong enough to protect you from villains!

they’re protectiveness becomes heightened after that incident and you’d have to fight not to go stay with aunt mito if you wanna keep going on adventures

they’ll find a strong ally to keep you safe in a safe place and when they get back you better be safe or else whoever was supposed to keep you safe isn’t going to be safe

Kurapika ⚔️📚

Kurapika would be one of the most protective ones seeing as though his half of the villains in this au are his enemies 😭

he won’t want you to go out a lot at all so I hope your not one for adventure, preferably an introvert too so you aren’t always super hype to see others and maybe a little skeptical like him

With your permission he’ll put a tracker on you just in case, he seems to be surrounded by kidnapping-🗿 so he can’t risk that happening to you

even more so if the troupe finds out about you, which he really really really hopes never happens even tho it just might

i don’t think it’ll be anyone’s fault if they do, unless Kurapika kidnapped you and you try to escape, then Shalnark likely just found out about you through research

And the chances of Chrollo not taking you hostage to use against Kurapika are almost 0%

if that does happen Kurapika will do whatever it take to get you back, even if it means telling the troupe they can have his life as long as they set you free (which Kurapika is smart so he’ll get his friends/Allies to help make sure they actually set you free in case it was a set up, he comes up with a very detailed plan and it’s success rate is pretty high since he’s managed to outsmart Chrollo before using the element of surprise. I’m not sure where he’ll send you but if Gon suggests Aunt Mito’s house he’ll likely take the opportunity seeing as though he has no family to send you to himself).

but if that doesn’t happen! (Thankfully) he will constantly move every few months and make to sure keep lots of locks and passcodes wherever you stay at the moment. He also has lots of security cameras, but don’t worry! He’s a good boyfriend aside from all the crazy stuff you have to go through from his wild life so he still gets you gifts and spends all his free time with you when he’s home! 💗

Being with Leorio will probably give you the most peaceful life at our everyone here 😭😭

If you met in college he likely fell in love with you with for your intelligence/appearance and as he discovered more about you he found himself going down a rabbit whole of newfound affection for you

even if you didn’t meet in college he still falls pretty darn fast for you

he’s aware of villains and is grateful they don’t even know he exists 😭😅

there's only gonna be like 5 characters here, but I do wanna do more than just these guys. i plan on making at least a part 2 for this with different characters. i just don't know who i'm gonna pick yet :/ feel free to make requests for the part 2! this isn't exclusive to the hxh men so if you wanna request any of the hxh girlies then go for it <3

WARNINGS: very brief and non-detailed mentions of sa, implied murder and torture, also very brief and non-detailed talk about sex

Ging Freecss

when the topic comes up in conversation and you eventually open up to him about what you've been through, he listens intently. no matter how much or how little you tell him about it

when you've finished telling him, he doesn't have much to say about it. he nods and hums to let you know he heard you.

his reaction might come off as him being disinterested or not wanting to know about everything you've just unloaded onto him, but he really REALLY does care, and he's glad you felt comfortable enough to open up to him about it

you might apologize for trauma dumping on him, but he'll quickly shut you down.

"don't you dare apologize."

he'll hold your hands, gently rubbing his thumbs against the back of them

if you start to cry, he'll wipe your tears away and pull you in to hold you close (if you're okay with it at the time) while you let all the waterworks out

again, he won't have much to say about it. he doesn't want to pry for more details than you're willing to give, either.

he isn't the greatest at talking about feelings and putting things into words, but he'll make sure you know he cares through his actions

he'll hold you for as long as you need to be held, then do something nice for you. like get you some of your comfort food and put on a nice movie you two can watch together on the sofa

after you open up to him about your trauma, he's more attentive to your comfort when being physically intimate. not that he wasn't before, he just pays extra attention to it now. it's sweet

you make a comment implying that you yourself have experienced that kind of abuse

you kind of awkwardly explain to him what you went through in minimal detail

then he asks for the name(s) and address(es) of your abuser(s)

this catches you off guard

you know exactly why he wants that information you really don't even bother asking

whether you give him the info he asks for is entirely up to you! <3

uvo may be a murderous bandit but he understands the importance of respecting your boundaries. he isn't a COMPLETE monster!

he won't bring it up again or ask you anymore questions about it, but he will keep it in mind

a few days after you opened up to him, he'll really contemplate what you've told him

and later on that day he'll probably pretty bluntly ask you if there's anything specific you're not okay with. like if there's a certain way you don't like being touched, a certain thing you don't like to do, etc.

and ofc when you tell him he keeps that in mind as well and makes sure to avoid the things that make you uncomfortable

Feitan Portor

he listens quietly as you tell him however much you're comfortable with telling him.

he falls silent for a moment after you finish telling him. you can tell he's thinking.

you start to worry that you should've kept your mouth shut. feitan can be really hard to read sometimes.

"when did this happen?"

"where?"

"who?"

it's up to you whether or not you answer any of these questions.

though, if you chose not to answer any of the questions he had, he'll likely find out who it was that hurt you one way or another

it's inevitable that he'll find out

very quickly after you told him about it as a matter of fact

no matter how much you might not want him to

he will find your abuser(s)

he will approach them

and he will do what he does best

and he'll let you know about it, too

i imagine the way you find out is when he comes home after hunting your abuser(s) down

"i took care of them."

you'll either be very grateful or absolutely befuddled

assuming it's the latter, you ask him what he means by that and what he did

you also remind him that you seriously didn't want him to do anything drastic

"why are you mad? i only gave them what they deserved."

you're stressed that he went against your wishes and sought out your abuser(s) anyway, but he tries to make it up to you by treating you to some tea and cuddles

he's unusually sweet to you that night, but you aren't complaining

as much as you might be super not used to it like at all

you're not sure how you expected your boyfriend to react to this kind of information

he doesn't seem to react much at all honestly

clearly had nothing to say about it

you just sigh and let it be

illumi is an apathetic person. you knew that going into this relationship, so you really can't say you expected much

nothing in illumi's behavior changes after you tell him until you're in the bedroom with him

"is this okay?"

"is it alright if i touch you there?"

"are you sure you're up for it? we can hold off."

you are oh so very confused

but when you realize why he's being extra cautious, your heart melts

you answer his questions truthfully, you reassure him that certain acts are okay, you tell him if something makes you uncomfortable, and he respects your boundaries fully

again, outside of the bedroom he's just as illumi as he was before you told him about your trauma

but he continues to be extra mindful of your comfort when you're being physically intimate

he might ask less questions overtime as he learns more about what you are and aren't okay with, but he'll always check with you when necessary to make sure you're doing okay

Chrollo Lucilfer

imagine you two are either going on a scenic walk together or laying in bed preparing to sleep when it comes up and you tell him what you're comfortable saying to him

he listens to you intently

he might ask you a few questions about it, but only a couple. he doesn't wanna pry too much.

"when did it happen?"

"was it just the one time?"

"who was it?"

once again, whether you answer any of those questions is entirely up to you.

he doesn't act weird or uncomfortable about it, and gently changes the subject when he sees you're ready to move on

the rest of your day/night continues normally without it coming up again

the next day, chrollo gets to work on finding out everything he can about your abuser(s)

completely without your knowledge

it wasn't that difficult to get the information he needed

once he has what he needs, he tells you he's off to an important meeting and leaves

you didn't bother asking who he was meeting with. knowing the kind of shit he gets involved with, you wouldn't have expected him to tell you anyway.

once he's gone, he wastes no time in disposing of the human garbage that is your abuser(s)

then he cleans up, comes home, asks you about your day and treats you to a fancy dinner

he never tells you what he did

if you do somehow find out, though, he'll be completely honest about it and tell you what you wanna know

and as for physical intimacy, nothing really changes

he was already very respectful of your wants, needs and boundaries before you told him

yknow Ging just strikes me as someone who'd have a preference for tall women/people ... which is why Gon is always somewhat tall (but a few inches shorter than Killua) in my aged-up fics

like he inherited his height from his mystery bio mom's side of the family and it's kind of funny bc all the other Freecss' are short and in my mind he's easily more than a head taller than everyone at any family function if he doesnt bring Killua

i personally subscribe to the pregnancy stone theory. it's so aggressively ging. him being a stupid teenager who wants to EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING to the point where he's like "lmao yea lemme get pregnant" with zero thought put into it. just vibes and morning sickness.

but im kind of also obsessed with the idea of pre-transition pari being gon's other parent and *ging* being the reasonable one. like he probably has his first ever one night stand with shelia and immediately realizes the gravity of his mistake. pari's manipulator ability relies on vulnerability to work. ging having his first time with shelia was all it took. he can sense the power of their aura and knows it's unlike anything he's ever felt. it's oppressive, murky, and dark. he is keenly aware he has stepped into an abyss with no exit. it terrifies him, he knows it will end him. he must do everything he can to stop it from spreading.

now they have a baby in the mix & ging can't let that kind of upbringing occur. the kid could become a well trained monster. shelia lets him take the baby bc they like this little game, they like to see ging squirm.

so you end up with ging being an irresponsible deadbeat, but also he's trying to protect the overall population from probably the biggest threat to humanity they've ever experienced. like hang on son, mommy is using their nen to create dark continent human hybrids that will destroy the world as we know it, brb lol.

ging and kite both have the most deviously demonic side eyes of all time for literally no reason. kite doesn’t even realize he does it but ging does it very intentionally

ging mostly didn’t show up to zodiac meetings or other business events mainly because he’s kinda shy, not because he’s irresponsible or lazy

ging is always pissing someone off. usually it’s on purpose. this is canon

during the chimera ant arc kite let gon braid his hair at one point and didn’t take it out for like a week

kite kept getting asked around that same time if he and killua were related because of the hair mainly, but he got really annoyed with it so he just started saying yes

kite used to use the top of ging’s head as an armrest just because he’s tall and ging is short and it would piss ging off so bad

kite got along well with old ladies for some reason. they always told him he’s too skinny and offer him food and he just took it.

also little kids and babies really liked kite. even though he’s deathly thin and has awful dark circles they are inexplicably attracted to him. kite used to avoid them because the toddlers kept trying to climb his legs and would pull on his hair, but later he warmed up to them and started going out of his way to be kind to them. but he only really likes old women and little kids and that’s all

ging hates kids and kids hate ging. that’s it that’s the headcanon

ging is one of those people who is just always in the most random places. imagine you text him or something after not hearing from him for like an hour and he just sends you back a picture of him in some obscure location all the way across the planet. nobody knows how, when, or why he got there but there he is

kite never killed any insect he came across. he has a lot of sympathy for animals and non-human creatures. with the exception of the obvious chimera ants. he would see a snail or something and move out of its way but then ging swoops in seconds later and dropkicks it

ging for whatever reason gets a lot of women. literally no idea why he just has this charm and spontaneous air that attracts people to him. but you definitely don’t want to start anything with him because as it literally goes in the story he just fucks and leaves

kite used to be really into painting and was weirdly good at it despite never actually receiving any lessons. he loved to paint scenery mostly involving water

kite’s hair has pretty much been the length it is in the chimera ant arc since he was like 10. he used to have a problem tripping over it but when he hit his growth spurt it stopped becoming a problem

ging never had an awkward phase growing up. one day he was a little kid and the next day he was a whole man. just like that for no reason

ging likes to turn on shows he knows he doesn’t like just to yell at the television and criticize everything the characters do the whole time

at one point during ging’s time with the zodiacs the public started a rumor that he and pariston were an item and once it reached the zodiacs ging didn’t show up to a single meeting for a month

same thing happened a little bit later except it was cheadle with ging instead and then ging disappeared for like three months

Omg that's so sweet, I can't believe someone is interested in seeing my Tav 😭❤️ This is her, her name is Ren, pronouns she/they (in game I sometimes switch between she/her and they/them using the magic mirror basically lol)

They're a half-drow fighter with urchin background, basically a scrappy street kid who had to learn to survive. Her main drive is that she would do anything for her friends, and as someone who had never worshipped any gods or had reason to trust in figures of authority, she just wants everyone to understand that they are fine the way they are and don't need the approval of some god. She doesn't seek authority or power and thinks that doing so never ends up being like, good for you (holding Astarion and Gale by the scruff of their necks)

Before the events of the game they'd say 'yeah i basically just want to survive and not be bothered lol' but when put in a situation where they have the power to help someone less fortunate they will ALWAYS take the opportunity to do so - too much of life spent being the one less fortunate!

Despite being a half-drow they'd never actually seen the Underdark before the events of the game and never met their drow father either so all that ancestry has really been to them is the assumptions people make.. In her appearance I was going for like, softer features than most drow seem to have and kind, human, brown eyes<3 You can'r rly see it in the pictures but she also has the neck rose tattoo.

They're a bit on the quiet and pensieve side (especially for a fighter) but have a cheeky sense of humour and always stay positive!!

Sketched it out after the first Shadowheart romance scene so YEAH Shart romance obviously hehe Ren was immediately drawn to her because 1)hot goth girl hiiiii and 2)she could see the incongruity between what SH said she was and believed and her actual morals and behaviour. And Ren's calm, kind and unjudgemental presence made Shadowheart trust her very quickly. Basically an immediate attraction and fascination that quickly turned into a strong bond, ik that's not very unique or interesting sorry they're just in louve<3

as for the other party members she feels very close to Astarion (just drawn to edgy bitches with a dark past ig!!) and is basically trying to domesticate him and show him the joys of found family. Karlach is also a very easy natural friend for her as they're similar in many ways although Ren is much quieter and less intense lol but they're Best Bros and drink beer together and arm wrestle and laugh at stupid shit

also good buds with Gale despite his initial romantic intentions and she helps him with the cooking<3 She admires Lae'zel and feels for her struggle a lot but had a bit of a harder time with her at first because of the rough bossiness but they grew closer over time and respect each other greatly. and loves Wyll obviously who doesn't love Wyll but rolls her eyes at his dramatic heroism. Really vibes with Jaheira's sense of humour and thinks shes hot too
