Remember that moment in ITSV, when Miles first meets his world's Spider-Man and their spider senses do the thing?

The background behind Peter is as we'd expect; the classic red and blue.

But at first Miles' background is green and purple, two colors he's never associated with at all throughout the movie. As the moment goes on, it shifts to match Peter's.

We are literally watching Miles' fate change and the anomaly happen.

It's well established that the spider that bit him was not supposed to even be in that universe, meaning our Miles was supposed to be something else before it happened.

This isn't true for ITSV, but in every other version of Spider-Man, the main color scheme for the Prowler is green and purple.

Our Miles was supposed to become the next Prowler in his world. And the only reason he's not, is because of the original Prowler. Miles switched his fate with Earth-42 Miles.

x Reader fics need to handle writing “reader” better sometimes

As a 6ft afab person who’s built like a man and has never been super feminine and has a more unique haircut that’s shorter I hate to read about “readers” petite, small, pale body and her “long flowy straight hair”, etc.

Reader is meant to be ambiguous!! And if it’s important to the plot please mention it at the beginning!!! If it’s not important to the plot why is it being included???

Some people who are reading may be tall, fat, skinny, short, or even somewhere in between. The readers could have a hijab, 4c hair, locks, braids, long hair, short hair, wavy, no hair and even more.

Stop making all readers so sweet and innocent, I want a reader who’s petty and sassy sometimes. I’ve noticed also that so many readers are either too baby to do anything or over powered.

Personally I also hate reading about obviously toxic men and relationships that the reader goes back to because they are “so in love”, like no please let me deck that sucker and leave them in the dust and be happier.

Also, if you label your post with the tag “___ x reader” or titled with “___ x reader” and then make descriptions and then ADD A NAME!!! It’s not an x reader fic and I heavily want to block you.

From the moment Peter Parker was born, from the second that his parents looked at him they no longer saw a regret but an opportunity. 

Skin samples, blood samples, oral samples, hair samples, bone marrow extractions, etc. 

As soon as the two had collected enough samples and created the first test, they moved to experimentation. 

When that test did not give the desired results, they collected more samples. And then they tried again. 

And again. 

And again. 

Each test and each experiment gave results but were never the results that they had desired. It wasn’t enough.

Not for them. The results they had gotten were not bad, not by any stretch. Faster regeneration and development were wonderful. Within hours, the bruises that the cuffs left on his hands would disappear. The samples of organs and tissues would regenerate before the week was done.

And still, not enough. They knew that they could do better. Could create something better. 

And the regeneration and healing were just another sign that they should do better and keep going. They spent the first four years of Peter’s life collecting samples and data, running tests, and conducting experiments. 

But, not everything was sunshine and rainbows. The issues started whenever Norman began demanding to see what progress they were making; he knew that there was more to show than just a spider. 

Norman wanted to meet the ‘enthusiastically-consenting’ test subject. And he expected to receive a demonstration, and expected to see promising results.  

Results that they knew they couldn’t quite give yet. 

So they fled. 

Or tried to. 

Richard and Mary Parker hadn’t accounted for the fact that Norman had connections everywhere. Through people or through technology. 

They also hadn’t accounted for the fact that Norman would sell their research to the highest bidder. 

And they had never once dreamed that someone would come and take their experiment, their most prized possession away from them. Leaving them feeling like their world had come crashing down…right up until their plane had.

Peter Parker was good at very few things. And most of those things his body did involuntarily; as easily as it performed cellular respiration or it maintained homeostasis. As if it was completely normal and natural and not at all inhuman. 

But the one thing, that wasn’t involuntary or even encouraged, that Peter excelled at was doing things he wasn’t supposed to do.

And jinxing himself. 

The last one got him in more trouble than the other. They typically went hand-in-hand. 

Peter Parker assured himself that he wouldn’t get caught watching television before his parents got home. Peter Parker assured himself that Mary wouldn’t mind if he borrowed a sheet of paper and a pen. Peter Parker assured himself that Richard wouldn’t mind if he just borrowed a few books.

Peter Parker hugged himself, mindful of the bruises covering his body, and convinced himself that things could not get much worse.

Subject 191694518, the numbers burned and scarred into his back, was not good at such things. 

It had learned early on that nothing good came from feelings; and that it’s wants and desires were not just unencouraged but punishable offenses.

It had learned that thinking meant being aware. It had learned that being aware meant feeling the things done to it. Awareness was suffering. Suffering was being <strike>alive</strike>.

Being <strike> alive</strike> was <strike> torture</strike>.

Its body had grown weak.

Consistent visits from technicians and scientists, and consistently being brought into the lab meant it always got a good grasp on how much time had passed. 

Even if it hadn’t felt the time pass. 

It hated awareness. But it hated, more than anything, that it could remember anything and everything that happened when in a state of awareness. 

Close to ten years had gone by. 

Subject 191694518 let it’s eyes drift around the containment cell. The subject moved it’s heavy head to look at the chains wrapped around it’s arms and legs.

Redundant and ridiculous, it decided. If not for the chains attached to the wall and ceiling, it would be nothing more than a pile on the floor. 

It looked at the doorway one last time. 

And Peter wished for the last time that somebody, anybody, would come and save him.

For the first time since it was a child and for the last time, a single tear fell from it’s eye. And then it was gone.

I am such a slut for Danny having supernatural strength and being able to kill someone with a single slap because he’s used to fighting ghosts who are built Sturdy (and literally can’t die, that is very helpful in a sparing partner) so he has to learn such meticulous control when he moves to Gotham where he starts regularly getting into scuffles with humans who think he’s an easy target (he looks like he has the sturdiness of a wet newspaper) and the whole time he’s more stressed about not drawing the Bats attention by being too good or accidentally killing someone so he has to walk that fine line of acting like a scrawny loser and dipping out at his first chance without being clocked as a meta.

Danny, laying on the ground and getting kicked repeatedly by a thug: *tries to angle himself so the guy can kick out a knot in his back*

Danny: *deadpan* oh, ow, stop that hurts, oof

Robin, watching from the rooftop and recognizing the dramatics from the Supers: father there is a meta

Batman, also watching and having flashbacks to Clark’s earlier days: *so so tired and already mentally getting the adoption paperwork ready*
