Is it just me who kinda loved that Dan Humphrey wrote a book abt his friend group, that kinda calls out his friends?

[note: I don't consider dan gossip girl ever]

Idk just feels like such a relatable thing to do, especially with that bunch of friends. If I was a writer and all of these crazy things were happening I would also write abt it. I don't think I would have felt that bad either tbh~ I would've given everyone better fake names or at least switched some genders so it wasn't as blatant but I for sure would have published it myself.

Dan basically just wrote a diary-ish and then it was read when he wasn't ready for anyone to see it yet and then published without his consent or without him being able to change anything. Alsoo I highkey agree with most of what he wrote abt his friends anyway.

I get why the actual characters in the show would be pissed ofc, but why are ppl in the fandom villianizing Dan for writing this book (that was published without his permission)???
