Always nice to see someone getting gf brainrot.
And nice to see someone getting (many) ideas.
Will possibly be checking out ur tumblr every so often or something for those maybe gf fic(s) focused on (canon) Mr. and Mrs. Pines (through probably/maybe Dipper's POV. Cool /genuine).
Like I said in my other reblog of this post and to you; I am certainly excited to see stuff like this explored/got into/etc.
Good luck on (maybe) writing those GF fics!
Book of Bill Spoiler
I wanna talk about this
Tumblr media
I’ve been seeing an interesting divide in the fandom about how they feel about Dipper and Mabel’s parents having marital issues.
It changes the show a lot, in terms of how the kids act, why they got sent to Gravity Falls, why Dipper was looking for an idol, and why Mabel didn’t want summer to end. I’ve seen some people hate it and some people like it. I am the latter.
Marriage problems doesn’t always mean a terrible home life, or abuse. Dipper wasn’t supposed to hear it, which means his parents are keeping it behind closed doors and not letting their issues become the twins’.
Which makes me believe this isn’t an abusive situation. Alex will torture the shit out of Stan and Ford (we know this), but Dipper and Mabel are precious to him, I don’t think he would put them in a bad/dangerous home life.
If Dipper’s having nightmares about it, it’s because it’s Dipper. He’s an anxious and paranoid kid, who makes mountains out of molehills and overthinks absolutely everything.
We don’t know the status of Mr and Mrs. Pines’ relationship. For all we know, the summer was just what they needed to patch things up, and everything was fine when the kids came home. But if at the end of the summer they have the oh-so-infamous sit down with the twins about a change in their family, it’s not inherently a bad thing.
Yes. The twins would be devastated if their parents separated.
Dipper would be extra moody and angry and our hopeless romantic Mabel would fall into a depression. I can see them both diving into distractions and finding comfort more with their Gravity Falls family. Keeping up with the Stans, Soos and Melody, Wendy, and Pacifica.
But things would settle down eventually, theyd get into a routine and eventually see how much happier their parents are. I can also see Mabel being excited she gets to decorate two bedrooms for herself, and getting to play matchmaker for her parents. Dipper would learn to live with it eventually, and I’m sure all he wants is to see his parents happy, but I think he’d fight it longer than Mabel does.
But they’d be okay.
This stuff happens, and I honestly love the representation, as a child of divorced parents. I don’t see it very often in children’s media, and I couldn’t relate to characters who had parents who got along with each other when I was a kid. And usually if they had step-parents it was because one of the parents died or something.
This is, classic Alex, left up to interpretation as to what’s happening in the Piedmont Pines’ household.

Like I get why human-Bill post canon redemption fics for Billford are common because it's fun to put Bill in that situation where he doesn't know whats going on and its a way to 'break' Bill into not being a huge asshole through learning empathy BUT I feel like also a big part of that is also people being COWARDS and not leaning into the monsterfuckery of Ford falling in love and getting it on freaky style with a triangle LIKE HE ALREADY DID.

Two possibilities come to mind when I think about the concept of bill running around with his baby self: either he somehow accidentally clones himself and the clone process only makes newborns, or the theraprism decides one day "well you're never getting any better. Time to blow up your baby self to stop you from ever even existing!" and Bill stops them, rescues his baby self, and then is on the run with it, all the while going through periods of memory loss and glitching out of reality because the paradox of rescuing his baby self is destabilizing his entire existence.

Oh yeah story idea: percy Jackson reaches his emotional/mental limits) (annabeth gets knocked down during a huge fight and nearly gets killed) and goes absolutely ape. We're talking hurricanes, earthquakes, a zillion exploding water sources, blood bending, poison bending, pounding rain, the works.
And it starts to kill him. Like eating too much ambrosia, his mortal body is burning up, too much power too quickly.
But through sheer force of will and the amount of divine energy he's putting out, he keeps clinging on as his body crumbles to ash, divine power building stronger and stronger and higher and higher.
And he accidentally brute forces his way into godhood.
And what would have been a true power reveal and two deaths, Percy being punished for his strength ala Frank, abruptly becomes a pseudo divine political drama, with percy at risk of any dozen horrific fates the frenzied council are slinging around (minus poseidon, who is also frenzied but unwilling to let his newly immortal son die) whilst dealing with all the ramifications of divinity and the new social strata of the immortal pantheon (and EVERYONE having opinions), all while trying to get back home.
But Annabeth survives because of it, so he can't really complain.

It is only after that Athena realizes what was wrong.
"Apollo," She says, quiet. The other god looks terrified at her sudden reappearance, confirming the answer before she even has to ask. Still, she stomps over to the bed, brushes aside the curtain that holds-
No one. The bed is empty.
"-DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?" She realises she's shouting, throat hurting from however long it's been. "Damn you, Apollo, why didn't you-"
Artemis is holding her back, even though they all know now that Athena would never be her father, no longer would raise a hand any of them.
"Why-" Tears catch in her throat. "Why would you not let me say goodbye to her?"
"She told me not to," Apollo says quietly. His cheeks are also wet, and he's cowering back but his stance is strong. "And you- you were happy, Athena. With all your warriors, with your Ithaka. I could not spoil that too, not when it would not last as long as your grief would."
"Damn you," She chokes out again, voice defeated, then turns to the bed. "Let me see her."
"That's not a good-"
"Artemis, please!" Athena snaps. "Let me see her, Apollo. One last time."
Apollo inhales shakily and raises a hand, turning back the time of his realm. Athena keeps her eyes trained on the bed, until-
"Pallas," She breathes, kneeling by the bed. Pallas lies unmoving, still bleeding all these decades later. She coughs suddenly, making Athena's heart ache. She knows that pain now- of the Aegis striking you down- but she still cannot bring forth regret for the latent hope that one day she might be saved.
"Pallas!" Apollo from the past exclaims, putting his pots down to stand by her side. "Oh- you're awake!"
"Not for long," She croaks out, and Athena sobs at the sound of that beloved voice. At what is coming. "Don't tell her. She won't reach me in time."
"But," Apollo wavers. "You're awake! Surely-"
"I'm only awake because someone is speaking my story," Pallas smiles faintly. "My essence will not survive the ending." Then she frowns. Realizes something and gives a small, wondrous smile. "But maybe-"
Athena reaches out to her, even though she knows it won't touch.
Pallas looks straight at her.
She gasps, and the other shoots her a familiar grin, before abruptly dissolving into mist with a horrid ripping sound, two colored lights floating in the air for a moment, then disappearing entirely.
"Let me see that again," Athena snaps hoarsely, pale.
"Sister-"
"NOW!"
Once more, she watches the soul of her first friend tear into half. Then again and again, until-
"Wait," Artemis holds out a hand to stop the movement, catching the split moment where it coalesces into her last storyteller and the last listener- a familiar shoddy prince and a familiar princess dripping with water, knobbly-kneed and grinning at each other- "Is- is that..."
Athena doesn't reply, still staring. Of course, it makes sense, she was the one who whispered the story to Odysseus under the stars after a training session gone wrong, but why would Pallas-
Why would she-
Unless-
Athena! Oh, wow, your hair is beautiful, she remembers both Odysseus and Pallas saying.
Athena! Come in, the water is lovely, she remembers both Penelope and Pallas saying.
"I have to go," She says hoarsely.
"GO!" Apollo and Artemis shout in unison, wild hope entering their eyes, and push her into-
Ithaka's palace bedroom. It is night. The olive tree in the middle of the room swishes.
Odysseus is sitting upright, Penelope in his lap as he strokes her hair. Jarringly full grown and speckled with grey, from the vision from a few seconds ago. But not old enough, not old as they should be, because-
When he turns to her, his grin is both his and hers, and when Penelope slits open one nymph-blue eye, the mischief is both hers and hers.
"We were wondering-" Odysseus laughs, a feminine lilt to the sound that isn't his, predator-playful expression the same as it was from all those centuries ago.
"-when you'd finally notice," Penelope finishes, the rough curl of the nymph language the queen does not know shaping her letters, quiet glee at a successful scheme the same as it was from all those centuries ago.
"It is you," Athena breathes, dropping her spear. Her helmet, her armour, walking closer like a soldier finally home from war. "It has been- you've been here the whole time."
Odysseus and Penelope cackle and Athena breaks out into a run and Pallas, grinning, raises their arms to welcome Athena back home.

So the trick to get you in the groove to work on on oc stuff is that first you put them in a fic for something your alredy working on and rhen let them bloom
You say that like you think I haven't tried it.
The problem is, for the way I write fanfic—I go hardcore on the canon compatibility—a really good fanfic OC has to be woven so deeply into the context of the original canon universe and canon story that you can't rip the canon out of them without undermining the whole foundation of their identity as a character. One you remove the canon, all you're left with is superficial surface details that no longer make sense without the canon you've stripped away.
For me developing the kind of OC that could stand wholly independent from the source material means a failure to write the kind of OC that I feel is appropriate for the fanfic I created the OC for. If the OC is whole and complete and fully developed and needs nothing if you remove the original canon context, then what the hell are they doing in that canon anyway? If the canon has no major impact on who they are?

Irondad fic ideas #129
In an AU where everything is the same except Tony survived the snap in Endgame, MJ and Ned are both very aware that something is up with their memories. Huge, overlapping chunks of their lives are gone. And Spider-Man has something to do with it.
The only public figure Spider-Man has ever been closely associated with is Tony Stark. In need of answers, and not the types to just let something like this go, the kids hack and heist their way somehow onto Tony Stark's secret lake house property. It's weird that no alarms go off when they get close, but they manage it. They're about to knock, when Tony Stark, savior of the universe, opens the door.
He does not look great. Aside from the general post-battle healing and the fact that they have literally caught him at home, there's just something...off. It doesn't take long for them to realize that it's the same thing that's off with them, too.
Something important has been taken from all of their lives. Someone.
After Tony calms down from his initial freak-out, MJ and Ned (though mostly MJ) manage to convince him pretty quickly. The fact that FRIDAY never alarmed because they're in her system already is a huge point to their side.
And, the fact that he agrees with them. He survived the battle, everything should be fine. But something is so, very wrong. He's grieving someone he doesn't even know.
So, a new team is born. A trio united to find their shared missing person, the eraser mark in their memories none of them can bear to lose, all for different reasons.
They don't have much to go on, but Tony agrees with them on one thing: Spider-Man is involved somehow. And that's a good place to start.

gravity falls fic/au concept (billford, romantic if you squint hard enough, mostly platonic tho)
Theraprism, and for some reason Ford is brought into the process (maybe they got drunk married or as a "apologise to the people in your past" type of thing) and Bill is fucking furious with Ford because he destroyed the last of his home dimension. And the Axolotl decides that Ford's "breaking the ice" activity will be trying to make Bill trust him enough to give him the story of his home dimension, and Ford's like "He actually told me that a while ago, but he probably lied lmao" and describes what Bill told him, and the Axolotl says that it matches their notes in every aspect that they have notes of, and they know the notes to be true. Then the Axolotl gives Ford the task of finding out the monster's name, telling him that "they must be brought in, it's an important step in getting Bill to heal from it"
After this shenanigans ensue, as they spend time in the theraprism and maybe even outside of it after a while, bonding and stuff and trusting each other again
Then after a while Ford asks "Hey, so what was the monster that destroyed your home dimension?" and Bill kinda repeats the whole 'it'll eat you alive' thing, and Ford just says "I'm stronger now lol, besides I just wanna research something so powerful that it destroyed an entire dimension!" and Bill kinda shuts it down and they keep going back snd forth about it, until one faithfull day, after Ford says something to the effect of "We'll find it and things will get better! Maybe killing it will help you get over it!" Bill just snaps and basiically screams at Ford that he did it, it was his fault, and he is fully responsible for it
Then Ford stares at him and says "You said a monster destroyed your dimension"
And Bill says "That wasn't a lie then, was it?"
And hurt/comfort ensues they roprt to the Axolotl (who probably knew it the entire time lmao, just wanted Bill to have some other fucking creature to talk to other than the drawing of his parents)
This can also get merged with another AU I was spinning around in my brain, basically Bill cracks when his mental state goes really really bad, and his first crack, placed under his bricks that weren't there at the time, happened when he killed his dimension, and as he lost more and more he just kept fucking cracking, and he has panic attacks, mental breakdowns and all the juicy stuff, meanwhile the Axolotl is just straight up tired, cuz this mf acting all unbothered like the only reason he even was in his office wasn't the fact that he hgad a violent panic attack caused by not being able to remember which parent was which color and how they looked like less than 10 minutes ago

Every so often while out on the sea, Stanley and Stanford compete to see who had the worst hitchhiking experiences throughout their 30s. Stanley thinks he had a rough time of it when his car was held for ransom and he had to spend an entire sweltering summer hitchhiking through Texas in the middle of a historic drought, but Stanford's stories of hitchhiking through Dimension XRO-17Z (which has a trillion roads tunneling through five massive dying stars for travelers' convenience) kind of takes the cake.

hermitcraft x gravity falls crack au where ford lands in hermitcraft season 9 during the king ren arc and realizes there are much more freaks out there than hes ever expected
grian would be like yeah man we're holding a resistance against the king (who is probably possessed tbh imo ngl) because he kept stealing all our money and he told me i couldnt scam people into doing quests anymore. anyway i see that magnet gun you have there. wanna break down this iron door for me? and that just solidifies ford's resolve to not let bill enter his universe because crazy stuff like this could happen to his home
the hermits introduce ford to their own trio of scientists while the royal court is swapping out emeralds in the background and ford instantly interrogates doc about what kind of creature he is and when doc revels that he's a creeper ("get away from me man i could explode you right now") ford just starts asking even nerdier questions about a creeper's anatomy
dont even get me STARTED on minecraft gravity physics. a hermit would break a wood block to make a torch and ford would be like FASCINATING........ the tree stays upright no matter how much you break of it.... and only when the leaves are no longer attached to wood do they break! the gravity in this dimension must be special! i must figure out what is causing this anomaly! and everyones like yup thats a nerd alright
ford ends up thinking the hc dimension is full of strange people just like him but it turns out hermitcraft is just a high concentration of insane guys that do not reflect the rest of their world at all. regardless they invite him to take down the royal court and he has a blast doing so
edit: the fic has been realized

I have Gravity Falls and Etc. fic(s) idea(s)
Which, I am going to write now while I am having this fic idea (probably going to be a short one, but in the future I might make a revised expanded version or something. Who knows).
I actually have multiple Gravity Falls and GF TAU and Reverse Falls and etc. stuff that stems from this specific The Book of Bill thing.
Specifically stuff exploring Dipper's nightmares.
(I have some other ideas for the other dreams and/or nightmares too. Sometimes even in relation to Dipper's in some way).
I love my boy, and his nightmares hurt my heart.
But also because I love him, I want to explore even more of issues/trauma/suffering and/or to do Dipper angst. And etc.
Because I want both happiness and/or suffering for my faves/the characters I love very much.
Like Dipper.
So he is going to be getting even more of that from me, probably.
Because he is great and I love him.

It is only later that Athena realizes what had been wrong.
"Apollo," She says quietly. He stiffens with fright at her sudden presence, guilt passing over his face. It is answer enough, but she still stops over to the bed, thinking no, no, no, ignoring his calls as she pulls back the curtain of the bed to-
No one. The bed is empty.
"-DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!" She comes to roaring, held back by Artemis, throat hurting from however long it has been. Apollo is cowering at her rage, despite her promise to never hurt any Olympian, to be better than her father, but his eyes are firm and it enrages her again. "Damn you, Apollo, why didn't you tell me?"
"Because she told me not to," He says, with quiet grief, for her, for both of them. "And you were- happy, Athena, after so long; with your warriors, with your Ithaka. I could not spoil that for you too, not when they would not last as long as your grief would."
"Damn you," She chokes out bitterly, voice defeated. "Let me see her."
"Sister, I don't think-"
"Artemis!" Athena snaps, pushing her hands off so she can approach the bed. "Let me see her. One last time, Apollo."
He exhales shakily, then raises his hands to turn back the time of his realm. Athena keeps her eyes on the bed, until-
"Pallas," She breathes, kneeling down beside her first friend. Pallas coughs, and Athena's heart aches- she knows what it is to take the full strength of the Aegis, now- but still cannot make herself regret the latent hope that one day she will heal somehow.
"Pallas!" Past Apollo exclaims, setting down his pots hurriedly to stand by her. "Oh- you're awake!"
"Not for long," She croaks, and Athena sobs at the sound of that beloved voice. At what is to come. "Do not call her. She will not make it in time."
"But you are awake, surely-" Apollo protests.
"I am only awake because someone is telling my story," She smiles wanly. "My essence will not survive the ending." Then she frowns, a look of wonder suddenly passing over her face. "Unless-"
Athena reaches out to her, even though she knows she will not be able to touch.
Pallas looks straight at her.
Athena gasps, and Pallas shoots her a familiar grin before dissolving abruptly with a loud tearing sound- two spots of light erupting from the mist before disappearing with a large crack.
"Let me see that again," Athena demands as she stands up, pale.
"Sister-"
"NOW!"
She watches Pallas' essence tear in two again. Then again and again, until-
"Wait," Artemis says slowly. She holds a hand to stop the movement, as the two lights coalesce for the briefest of moments into the last storyteller and the last listener- a familiar shoddy prince and a familiar princess dripping with water, knobbly-kneed and grinning. "Is- is that..."
It makes sense. She had told Odysseus the story after a training session gone wrong, quietly, under the stars, as she'd bandaged him up.
But why would Pallas-
Unless-
Athena! Come in, the water is lovely! Both Penelope and Pallas had told her, the first time they'd met.
Athena! Wow, your hair looks beautiful today! Both Odysseus and Pallas had told her, when she had come back from Olympus, when he had called her that first time to Sparta.
"I have to go," She says hoarsely.
"GO!" Artemis and Apollo both shout, wild hope in their eyes as they push her into-
Ithaka's palace bedroom. It is night. The olive trees swish in the breeze.
Odysseus is sitting upright, Penelope in his lap, stoking her hair. When he turns, his grin is both his and hers, and when Penelope slits open one nymph-blue eye, the mischief is both hers and hers.
"We were wondering-" Odysseus laughs, a feminine lilt to the sound that isn't his, predator-playful expression the same as it was all those centuries ago.
"-when you'd finally notice," Penelope giggles, the rough curl of the nymph language that the queen does not know shaping her letters, quiet glee the same as it was all those centuries ago.
"It is you," Athena breathes, dropping her spear. Her helmet, her armour, staggers forward like a soldier returning from war. "It has been- you've been here the whole time."
Odysseus and Penelope cackle at her and Athena breaks out into a run and Pallas opens their arms to welcome Athena back home.
