Seonghwa silently walks over to Mingi and simply holds out the missing jacket.

Jongho casually rolls his eyes while Yunho and San scream my name upon seeing me in the room.

"When did you get here?" Yunho smiles happily.

San giggles, "So what have you been up to?"

"Where are you going to go?" Yunho looks around the room.

"There's a cafe downstairs, we can go get some drinks?" I suggest, noticing my best friends downcast gaze.

"Just be back in 40 minutes." Seonghwa passes by.

Mingi and I nod and we quickly proceed out to the hall.

"Thanks for getting me out of there." Mingi breathes out.

I nod, "Everything okay?"

Mingi shrugs, "I mean I always worry about you and Jongho. That's a given."

I throw a concerned look towards him while he just looks straight ahead.

"What do you mean?" I question. "Jongho and I are fine."

"Yeah, you're fine now but no one really knows about you guys." Mingi explains as we reach the cafe. "2 fruit smoothies please." He orders and promptly pays without asking.

He leads me to a table and sits. Still confused about his worries, I follow suit.

"Mingi, nothings going to happen to us if we go public." I try to comfort him, "I don't think we'll go public anytime soon but nothing would happen."

Mingi shakes his head, "You don't know him like I do."

"How do I not?" I question, completely confused as to what Mingi is trying to say. "Mingi, what are you talking about?"

Just as Mingi opens his mouth, our order is called out. I sigh and sit back in the chair while Mingi retrieves our drinks.

He takes a sip before continuing, "I'm just worried he'll change in a way I know you don't like. Jongho likes to worry. About everything. Especially our public things. You see the way he is around the members in public. He'll always make sure we're in the best lighting, make sure our fansites get the best pictures."

"So?" I shrug.

Stunned into silence, I just stare blankly at him, my hand barely wrapped around the untouched smoothie.

I try to shake it off, "Mingi, you don't have to worry, we match well. Otherwise do you think I'd date him?"

"I just don't think you are." Mingi insists, "I don't want to remind you of the past but you remember the guys before?"

I narrow my eyes at him.

"You were always going for guys I knew were not right for you but you would never listen to me." Mingi explains, each word pricking my skin.

"Then what do you want me to do, Mingi? Huh?" I challenge, "What do you want me to do? Do you want me to leave him? Is that what you want?" I try to keep my voice at a normal tone since we're in public but it's proving to be harder than it sounds.

"I, I don't know." Mingi avoids my stare, "I just don't want you to get hurt. I don't want either of you to get hurt."

"Mingi, we talked about this even before Jongho and I started dating." I fix my hair, "I asked you if you were okay with your friend and your bandmate dating because I know how complicated it can get. I asked you and you said you were fine with it. Why is this coming up all of a sudden?"

"Because I wasn't actually okay with it when I said I was!" Mingi exclaims. "You were so happy that he'd asked you out and I couldn't bring myself to say no. So I said yes. I just, I guess, yes."

"Yes, what?" I whisper.

Mingi looks up at me with sad eyes, "Yes, I want you to leave him."

My mouth drops open and the only thing I can hear is Mingi's voice saying he wants me to leave Jongho. With every breath, my heart beats faster and harder. Even though he's absolutely correct about my past experiences, it's hard to believe that this is actually what Mingi, my best friend wants of me.

Unable to stand to be in front of him any longer, I grab my purse and walk away. In all of our years of friendship, I have never walked away from him. Until now.

As I realize the significance of this fight, the secondary realization that I'm walking away from Jongho hits harder but the fear and confusion of Mingi's words make it impossible to turn around.

"I still don't understand why you walked out." Sara mumbles over the phone. "You and Mingi have been best friends together and you turned your back on him."

I sigh and look up towards my ceiling. "I know."

"You should apologize." Sara continues.

"I know." I repeat.

"You should do it soon." Sara pesters me more, "Otherwise that boy will not stop calling and textin- you know neither boy will stop calling you."

"You think I don't know that?" I argue, "I'm, honestly, kind of happy that they have such a busy schedule otherwise they would've already shown up at my apartment."

"While you have a point, and yeah the space was nice for you to think, you should go taaaaaalk to them." She drags out. "You've already made up your mind haven't you? Unless my countless nights of phone calls with you were proven worthless." "No they weren't worthless." I roll my eyes. "I'll find out where they are and go talk to them."

"You do that. Let me know how it goes." Sara instructs.

I nod, "I will." We exchange goodbyes and hang up.

Pacing around the room with my phone tucked into my hands, I debate on who to text for their schedule location.

After deciding to text San while simultaneously begging him not to say a word to anyone else, I grab my few important items and head out towards the music show building.

Knowing I missed their performance, I wait for them to reenter their dressing room from a hallway a little ways away.

"Thank you!" San's voice rings down the hallway followed by a small round of claps.

Peaking my head out, I watch the boys as they make their way towards the room. Wooyoung and Yeosang are animatedly chatting together. Behind them, Yunho has a firm arm wrapped around Mingi's shoulders and they're lowly talking to each other. San and Hongjoong follow behind. At the end, Seonghwa has his hands on Jongho's shoulders as Jongho has his gaze glued to the floor.

Once they're all in the room, I sneak towards the halfway closed door. From inside, I hear them talking. But as I get closer, I realize they're not talking. They're arguing.

"How many times do I have to apologize to you?" Mingi yells.

"I don't know if you should even apologize anymore!" Jongho yells back, "You let her walk away! Why would you let her walk away? Why would you even say that to her? You know how cautious she is!"

I gaze through the crack in the doorway but am only able to see Jongho standing behind the couch. San is seated at one of the mirrors, and Seonghwa is leaning against the wall and the others must be behind the door.

Before Jongho can answer, I whip around to face Mingi, "And you, why did you bring up your feelings in a public place? We could've had a nice conversation about this at the dorm or at my apartment but you chose to bring it up at a music show recording out of all places."

"I didn't come here to start something else with you two," I butt in before either of them can say anything, "But when I walked away, I wasn't walking away from just one of you. I was walking away from both of you. Do you know how much that hurt? Do you know?" I feel the frustrated tears brim my eyes and I force them back down. "Jongho, I'm not walking away, I'm still yours. You have nothing to worry about. I'm sorry for not responding to your texts and calls, I just needed a moment to think."

Jongho visibly relaxes and I move on to Mingi.

"You and I need to have a conversation together later, privately." I raise an eyebrow at him. "But I swear if I ever try to walk away from you again and you don't stop me, someone better shoot me before I reach the door." I joke and fail to mask the smile on my face.

"Me too." I squeeze his torso before letting go and moving to Jongho who immediately pulls me into his embrace.

I smile into his shoulder, "I won't. I'm sorry for scaring you. I was just so focused on my argument with Mingi that I momentarily forgot where I was until I got out of the doors."

Jongho chuckles, "Why does that not surprise me?"

"Mingi's buying dinner tonight." Yunho announces while Mingi pouts.

"It's only fair," San supports Yunho's announcement, "It was your and (y/n)'s fight that caused us headaches."

"Then why isn't she also paying?" Mingi asks.

"Cause I won't let her." Jongho defends me and turns me to be sheltered from the others.

"Fine." Mingi agrees, "Let's go get dinner!"

"DINNER!" Yunho happily yells and heads towards the door.

Jongho releases me and walks ahead. I catch up to Mingi and give him a side hug as we reach the door.

"Does this mean I'm forgiven?" Mingi hopefully requests, reciprocating my hug.

"You know better to assumer you're forgiven until we've talked this through." I sassily comment.

"I know." Mingi laughs.

Jongho falls in step with Mingi and I. I grab his hand and stand content between the two men I wouldn't want to live without. It's both or nothing at all.

BTS in Singapore #LoveYourselfSG

I don’t know who would even wanna read about a concert that happened A MONTH AGO. But if you are still keen, hey ho.

*I’m gonna recount the entire day in great detail, so please feel free to skip any details if you don’t care about it.*

For reference, I was at yellow 1 (left side of the extended stage)

On the night before the concert, it still felt unreal. I was surprisingly calm and I was even watching 聲林之王 with glenn (who stayed over) 😂 I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep but I ended up falling asleep at around 3 am.

19 January, 6.00am: My eyes opened and I was sooooo effing tired LOL. I swear I was in a daze all the way till the actual concert. We got ready and proceeded to leave the house at 8 am. Once I arrived at the stadium, there were fans everywhere. The group of us (carol, mingyou, glenn and I) decided to grab a cup of tea/coffee to wake ourselves up and I don’t know how, but it was already past 9 am by the time we bought our drinks. Glenn and I went to collect the various fansupport items (a cool thing about kpop concerts is the amount of free stuff given out by fans) and we went to find glenn’s roommate who had been queuing for merch since 6am.

At 10.30 am, glenn and I went to register for soundcheck. The place we were at (outdoor area outside astons) had various dance cover groups, which was actually a pretty good form of entertainment to pass the time. After we were done with registration, glenn had to pick up an item she had ordered from a fansite, which we had a hell of a difficult time trying to find because the stadium is so freaking big. We had to speed walk to queue for soundcheck right after, as we were already late (queueing started at 12.30pm and it was almost 1pm)

SOUNDCHECK:

That was basically my reaction when BTS walked out.

Even though they were in casual clothes and had no makeup on, (Jhope even tweeted about it!!!), in my mind they looked like this as they were walking over to us HAHAHA:

They performed three songs in total: mic drop, dna and run. I went in assuming they would each be rehearsing their solos, so I wasn’t expecting those three songs to be chosen. But, it makes total sense because these are the more hype songs. My memory is slowly fading so I’ll let drake illustrate how I felt during the soundcheck.

When they all stood in one line right in front of me:

me realising midway that bts is real and I’m actually seeing them like wtaf-

armys after the soundcheck:

I don’t know how I ever got so lucky winning soundcheck passes, but I wanna thank all the lords and the universe for awarding BOTH glenn and I this opportunity. Soundcheck is truly such an intimate experience because you get to experience bts in all their natural glory. Even though this was just a rehearsal, it felt like a mini concert and I even told glenn that I’d be fine if I didn’t go for their concert and I can die happy lmaoooo.

Brief soundcheck tidbits (you can read the rest here):

1) Jin looks THE best without makeup, he has such good skin and I swear this man is really really handsome in person. I’ll admit I never bought into the worldwide handsome hype before, but I’m a convert now.

2) Jin kept looking at glenn and I several times and he was FULL ON staring. It wasn’t even a brief glance, it was as if I owed him money and he was waiting for me to return it to him (yes jin i owe u my money and life). I kept wondering if I was delusional (aren’t we all, tbh). To be fair, I think jin was also looking at the barricades behind us and/or staring into space, but this man definitely looked me straight in the eye. How did I survive? I didn’t, I’m typing from my grave

3) hobi glows in person, and he’s really not called the sun for nothing. He was the first one to walk out on stage and he had the biggest smile plastered on his face the entire time. Sunshine radiates from this man with every move he makes. Alongside joon, he was the one speaking the most and leading the members.

Ok, so storytime. There were supposed to be 1000 soundcheck winners but when we entered, there was NO way that there were 1000 of us. Our area had probably around 100 - 150 people max and the same goes for the other side. During the concert ment time, jungkook mentioned that there were only 200++ fans at soundcheck. The moment he said that, glenn and I turned to each other and went “HUH?” and we clowned him because we thought he couldn’t math... (sorry jk bro for doubting you oops). As it turns out, about 800 soundcheck passes were cancelled because they were obtained through special means and connections. AND, the reason they looked really tired/sad at soundcheck was because they were expecting 1000 fans and they probably thought they couldn’t even fill up that amount. :( fuck you scalpers, fuck you snakes staff, but I’m glad bighit decided to cancel all those tickets because those fools dont deserve it and also more space for us soundcheck winners muahahaha.

Before I delve into the concert experience, I need to vent about my stupidity and anger at myself. **CAUTION: RANT AHEAD** So, the standing ticket holders were let in to the venue from 4 pm onwards, and we happily found a spot to settle in and chill. (it was definitely NOT chill in our pit, but that’s another story) At around 6.30pm, everyone decided to stand up officially. Fast forward 15 minutes, I went into full panic mode because I needed to pee. Usually, I’ll just hold it in but my stomach was feeling quite queasy (I’ve been having a lot of stomach issues since november). I also didn’t wanna watch the entire concert with the constant urge to pee because that’s so fun, right? It just SO happened that mingyou and carol were talking about going to the back to watch the concert so I said fuck it, I’ll just go to the toilet and stand at the back too. Went to the toilet to pee and ta-da, ONLY TWO FREAKING DROPS OF PEE CAME OUT. I was so pissed at myself (my body really) because it made me leave my front spot for nothing. But, what’s done was done. I told myself that hey, at least you can finally breathe now (while internally cursing). **RANT OVER**

CONCERT:

Even though I’ve watched so many fancams from their concert, NOTHING will ever beat the experience of watching it in person. I got GOOSEBUMPS when the first note of idol played and they all rose from the platform. Till this day, I STILL get goosebumps rewatching any idol fancams because of that exact moment.

me watching the IDOL opening stage for the 94919994th time:

I was watching IDOL from the back with carol and mingyou, and I was truly thankful that I had the space to dance and go wild. But, that feeling lasted briefly because I realised I was so damn far from the stage. BTS was performing most of their choreographed songs at the purple main stage so even if I was at my original spot, I still wouldn’t be able to see them. The huge led screens existed for that very reason, but my stubborn ass was adamant on watching them on the stage instead of seeing them through a screen.

After IDOL, it was time for their intro ment (introducing themselves, saying a few comments the usual stuff). Immediately after, they performed save me/I’m fine. I don’t know why my idiotic ass thought this was a good time to squeeze my way in when I should have been FOCUSED on my boys. I was basically half watching them, half saying sorry excuse me to strangers. *bows head deeply and slaps self*

Ok moving on.... I really freaking love how they created the transition from save me to I’m fine. The part where tae gets up into a bridge position was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. For some reason, he looked particularly breathtaking doing this move at this very concert. The beauty of live performances, indeed.

Personally, tae stood out in save me/I’m fine the most.

Magic Shop was next, which surprised me because I forgot that it was so early in the setlist. Hence, I was NOT ready for the incoming wave of emotions.

“so show me, I’ll show you” will forever remain one of the most iconic lines in the fandom 😭😭😭 I think I would have cried if this song was played towards the end of the concert.

As per tradition, a subunit vcr is played before each members solos. So the order goes hopekook, minjoon, tae and yoonjin (yoonjin was too!! much!! to handle because it was 2 separate screens and I didn’t know where to look at???)

Jungkook: Euphoria

(aiyooo look at them cheeks *pinch*)

I love how this has now become our official fanchant (for context). Euphoria is one of my fave intros after seesaw and my ears were in for a treat that night. (It was also at this point I decided to just stay in my current spot instead of trying to find glenn). Jungkook sounds amazing live and this made me realise that wow, he really deserves the main vocalist title.

As most fans would have known, Jungkook was so exhausted at the seoul music awards, which was a mere few days before the concert. Naturally, I was worried that kook would push himself too much in sg. I could tell he was definitely a little worn out, but he still gave it his all (bcos its jungkook) and delivered an impressive performance. I’m truly happy I’ve witnessed euphoria live 😍

J-Hope: Just Dance

JUNG HO SEOK, YOU GOOD??? J-hope showed me what the term bias wrecker really meant that night. I think EVERYONE left the stadium that night rethinking their bias list (if you didn’t, you’re lying). His stage presence and charisma is out of this world. Everyone knows he’s a good dancer, but seeing him executing those moves in person is REALLY something else.

I Need U + Run

I honestly don’t remember much from this except for THE vmon moment because they were kinda all over the place. They started at the main stage, then came over to the extended stage and were just dancing their hearts out freely. The members were all splashing water (Idk how they do it so nicely, I’ll probably just hit someone’s head with the bottle) and there was a water cannon. The water cannon was SOOOO strong, I and the people around me were caught off guard (rip my hair & makeup). Bighit probably knew mosh pit fans were sweaty as hell so they wanted us to take a bath. How nice of them.

I loooooveee the outfits they wore here. I’m not a fan of all white ensembles but on bts, I’ll make an exception. They look like ethereal angels who've descended down to earth for one day to grace us with their presence. I’M HERE FOR IT.

Jimin: Serendipity

Till this day, jimin remains my favourite performer in bts. Whenever I watch a bts performance, my eyes automatically go straight to jimin. As a contemp dancer trained in ballet, you can see how that has shaped his performances. Fluidity is the term I would use to describe his style, because he moves like he’s gliding through water. I often find myself rewatching his fancams the most because he has so much adaptibility, its crazy. He knows when to go hard and when to reel it back in. Jimin has such pretty dance lines as well. He stands out because he really pays attention to the little details (the turn of a foot, the hand placement, arch of a back)

Out of all the solos, serendipity is really the prettiest. The combination of jimin’s glitter shirt + pastel hair + bubbles really was a feast for the eyes 😍

Trivia: Love

As glenn pointed out, Joon looks so much softer in person (he’s a real life koya 😭). In person, his features are much softer and ‘rounder’. While he may have soft features (how many times can I use the word soft), his stage presence is a huge contrast. I’ve often noticed that out of everyone, joon is the most focused member during performances. While the others will interact with fans/try to incorporate some kind of fan service, rm concentrates solely on carrying out what he’s supposed to do. I can respect that.

Ugh!!! This man!!! Honestly, I was a little worried joon wouldn’t get the hype and cheers he rightfully deserves but Singapore impressed me. Well done, my fellow countrymen (and foreign fans). There was a girl beside me who screamed super loud and kept yelling “KIM NAMJOON!!!!!” so I was like HELLLL YEAH OKAY FINALLY SOMEONE AS HYPED AS ME LEGGO. Jungkook making a heart at the end with namjoon was so cute uwu. Everyone collectively lost their shit when joon slid his jacket off over one shoulder. King of giving the people what they want, I see you.

**another thing to note is how he always looks SOOO happy performing love. You can see the genuine happiness radiating off this man. It makes me happy too 🤗

The main talking point of this performance was that jimin fell. I actually missed it, because I could only see their side view and jimin was blocked from my pov. By the time I looked at the screen, jimin was already on the floor (still smiling bcos he’s jimin) and I was like oh nooooooo. Apparently after that, they coordinated among themselves mid song to tell each other not to do the ending choreo. A PLUS TEAMWORK, RIGHT THERE! tae even went to wipe the floor after the performance, bless his precious soul.

sidenote: I love love their dna outfits, especially the jackets!! They had different ones for the america and europe concerts, but I do love the asia tour ones just a little more.

The other highlight of the concert happened here because I was reunited with glenn!!!!!!! I found her just when they launched into fire and we were like OOOOOMMMMGGGG YAS. I actually gave up on ever finding her, but I suddenly saw her blouse from the corner of my eye (THANK YOU GLENN FOR WEARING A PINK DAISY TOP). During the medley, everyone kept following wherever the boys went because the boys were on the moving stage. I felt like I was at a wave pool getting pushed without even moving. They were right at the back at the small diamond stage, so I couldn’t really see much. I had no choice but to watch from the screen.

V: Singularity

For the first and only time during the concert, this made me speechless. Normally, I’d be cheering and singing along to all of the songs. BUT man oh man, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from tae. While jimin is my favourite performer to watch, I believe that tae is the most expressive performer in bts. Whenever I watch him, I realise that wow that’s really a celebrity right there. Its easy to dress up and put on a show, but not everyone can really perform. What separates a regular person from a star is the x factor, and taehyung is the perfect embodiment of that.

Fake Love

First off, how did I not notice jhope was wearing leather gloves???? Fake love is still that bitch, no matter what anyone says. It gave us goth bangtan and that’s all I could ever ask for.

I wasn’t expecting them to perform the rock version, and I LOVE IT. I’ve probably watched all of their fake love performances, but seeing it live just solidified it as my fave title track from the love yourself series. Funny anecdote: jungkook didn’t lift his shirt up like he usually does and I swear the people around me were disappointed. They didn’t outrightly say anything, but I could feel the sadness 😂

Suga: Seesaw

ALRIGHT, SHE DROPPED THE CHEESECAKE TIME. Seesaw is my fave solo so you bet your sweet ass this bitch was excited AF!

Singapore did good for the seesaw fanchants, I’m so proud of us *wipes away tear* yoongi definitely noticed our efforts and smiled so freaking wide when he heard us (he absolutely has THE cutest gummy smile).

I remember the entire fandom (me included) got shookt to the core when yoongi first debuted the seesaw performance. We were like ‘suga dancing??’ Seesaw as a song itself was already a pretty unconventional fit for yoongi. We were all used to his hard hitting rap songs (agust d says hi) so we were really surprised. But, you can see how much fun yoongi always has whenever he’s performing seesaw and I’m thankful that he reversed our expectations with this song.

Jin: Epiphany

THIS MAN, yes I am suing. His name is Kim Seok Jin. How dare he make me feel all of the feels when I specifically told him not to? Hearing 50,000 people singing “I’m the one I should love in this world” together was truly a historical moment (just hear how it sounds from OUTSIDE the stadium). Seeing Jin channel all of his emotions into this song was heartbreaking, yet cathartic at the same itme. I would have full on ugly cried but all the screaming probably killed the mood.

Epiphany is such a perfect song, 10/10. I don’t know what else to say because nothing I ever say will compare to the experience of actually watching it live. I love you, jin (no hetero)

The Truth Untold

I could barely hear tae at the start because of his mic, which was a shame :( Aside from that, everyone sounded really great. TTU is a song that can strain your voice if not done properly. There were definitely some concerts where some of them struggled to reach the high notes or the correct key. One thing’s for sure though - Jin has CONSISTENTLY been singing in perfect pitch and ALWAYS delivers a fantastic performance. Jin’s singing is so stable, it deserves more recognition. I love tae’s ad lib here and how he made everyone lose their marbles after.

Outro: Tear

HANDS DOWN, FAVE PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT!!!!! I walked out of the concert still thinking about tear, because it was THAT powerful. I’m glad glenn was beside me for this because she’s the only other tear enthusiast I know (TEAM SENN ✊🏼). BTS individually have amazing stage charisma, but put the three rappers together and you get AN UNDENIABLE FORCE. I’ll always stan rap line till the day I die. The three of them have such different rapping styles, yet nothing sounds out of place when they work together.

Mic Drop

Second fave performance of the night! (okay I might be slightly biased, since it was right after tear) Even though this was nearing the end of the concert, I was actually way more energetic than I was at the start. It was like I was saving all my energy stores for this very moment. When joon mentioned it was their last song, I was like NOOOOOOOOO WAIT WHAT YOU CAN’T LEAVE YET. Then, I remembered that there was an encore segment and the world was all right again.

I see you stylists with the second white ensemble of the night, and I raise you one. Mic drop is the song that can get anyone hyped up anywhere. I feel like this is the song that you can play at clubs / festivals and it wont feel out of place. Fun story: the dj at dpr live’s show played mic drop and everyone was lowkey jamming to it (also shout out to all the armys there)

Please watch jhope’s fancam!!! I’ve always felt that mic drop is one of the few songs that allows him to really shine as a dancer. As a hip hop dancer, he doesn’t get many opportunities to showcase it because he has to ‘tone down’ for bts choreos. Encore Stage (So What & Anpanman)

All of the cutest and funniest interactions took place right here!!! Before the concert, I was going back and forth between getting purple or yellow tickets but I definitely do NOT regret getting yellow tickets! The extended stage is where you can see their goofy selves come out to play.

noteworthy moments during the encore stage:

-sope freaking looked at glenn and I, and we almost combusted right there. Both of them came over to our side at one point, and stepped down onto this black box platform just below (no wonder they felt so close). Almost everyone else were on their phones, so naturally they noticed us because we were the only two crazy bitches cheering by ourselves. I MADE EYE CONTACT AND THAT’S ALL THAT MATTERS. suga smiled so hard when he saw us going all out, and that’s when I knew: I was yoongi’s bitch for life. jhope was looking at us with a sort of approval *stands at attention* YES SIR ARMY REPORTING FOR DUTY

-jungkook came over to our side of the stage and was just in right front of me. I took this time to really look at his face (HAHA) because I felt like I didn’t see him enough during the concert. He was doing body rolls (looked a little something like this) and everyone around me was busy trying to get his attention. Upon closer ‘inspection’ of jungkook, I have concluded that he is a 5 year old trapped in a 20 year old ripped body. His body proportions are reeeealllyy crazily good - with his tiny waist and long legs (and veiny arms). I can see why people lose their mind over him, but he’ll always remain an adorable bunny to me.

-I got blessed by yoongi’s holy water during so what. I didn’t think I was gonna be close enough to get the water but I GUESS NOT! I’ve never been happier getting splashed with water in my life. I swear, yoongi was so cute bouncing around and just smiling the whole time (I can’t stop talking about yoongi, SO SUE ME)

this is what jungkook looks like in person, can you believe? Fansite pictures are always heavily edited (especially jungkook’s for some reason) so sometimes they can come across as quite ‘fake looking’ when you look at images. Lemme tell you, they look a thousand times better in person. The melanin, the glow, the messy hair, their natural skin - can we get a hallelujah

Final Ment

Their final ment before we parted ways :((( I do enjoy hearing them speak even if its in korean, because you get to listen to their thoughts and feelings. I also really appreciate their attempt in speaking english, because it shows that they care. They might have memorised what to say, but effort goes a long way!

jin is a sagittarius in every sense of the word. the way he waited for his close up before slowly removing his shades.....I’m honestly not surprised anymore. I’m too used to having so many sagittarius in my life LOL. he even attempted to speak singlish not once, but twice. At last, the final song dawned upon us. This is it, the moment reality hits you. That we’re all gonna return to our sad little lives after the concert. I was expecting myself to cry, but I actually felt... at peace? Hearing them sing “I should love myself” also served as a final reminder that that is also the title of their world tour, and the key message to take away from the love yourself series. At the end of the day, bts are also 7 young men in their 20s struggling alongside the rest of us. They have their own battles to fight too, but at least we’re all in this together. BTS may be there to provide us with happiness and love, but we must never forget to look inward first. 💜

Ngl, Singapore really impressed me. Every member’s solo got the same deserving amount of screams and we even got seesaw’s part down! Touring non stop for months is no easy feat, and I hope our passion made them less weary for one night. I still feel extremely blessed that I got to see them so quickly after I became a full-fledged fan. Hope to see you boys real soon! 😁😁😁

Hey record keepers, it’s your pal, Dari Scitydreamer, and welcome back to another weekly Final Fantasy Record Keeper Report, or, FFRKR! What? This is off-brand for the site? This has always been an Record Keeper fansite, what are you talking about? So anyway, quick recap! Last week, we had a discussion on the Final Fantasy V event dungeon and whether or not some of the new characters introduced are important enough to warrant being made characters in FFRK. Again, I argue that if they made Jihl Nabaat a playable character, that minor FF XIII villain that got unceremoniously dropped out of the narrative, why the hell not? We also discussed our pulls from the 33x Relic Draw and hollered about trying to get Tyro’s new Ultra Soul Break.

This week’s report will just focus on upcoming events, so it’ll be a bit light. Easter Sunday is tomorrow and as we all know, the Easter Bunny detests video games, so in honor of him, I’ll avoid going into the usual 5000+ word sermons these reports go into.

Anniversary Dungeon

As we know, the FFRK 3rd Anniversary Carnival will still be ongoing until April 15th, so that’s plenty of time to do some orb grinding and easy access leveling! There won’t be anymore new gift dungeons after tomorrow, unfortunately, but the rewards that they’ve given out has been pretty good, so let’s be appreciative of that. Also, if you’re out of the loop, Ozma has recently appeared as a raid dungeon boss to fight with your pals! Go on, fight that rainbow orb!

This week, the Fork Tower is finally opening up! Remember those gimmick dungeons from Final Fantasy V where there was a dungeon where you could only use physical attacks and a dungeon where you can only use magic attacks? Well, it’s here! Bah, don’t feel too bad about it, it’s actually a fair FF V gimmick, all things considered. Remember that fight against those bombs that’d revive everyone on death if you didn’t silence them beforehand? Awful.

Relic Pulls

Phases 4 and 5 of the 3rd Anniversary Celebration banner is happening this week, so be ready for that! For me, I no longer care about the rest of the event because I got Tyro’s Divine Veil Grimoire back in Phase 1. I hold the ultimate protective power of gods in my hands now. I’ve ascended. Become as gods. Boy, it’d be so cool if Record Keeper got a Nier: Automata event… give Tyro a Grimoire Weiss weapon……..

But, I guess if you care and got the Mythril/dough on hand, here’s what to look for:

Phase 4 is extremely wind-oriented, with offensive soul break abilities being wind based and Legend Materia that either infuses wind or creates follow-ups after performing wind attacks.

The one to look for is Zack’s Enhancer, which starts a wind chain. If you’ve already got a good wind team going but lack a chain, this is the one to be pulling for.

The main characters for this banner is Cloud (because he can never have enough fucking swords), Zack, Luneth, Zidane and Bartz.

Phase 5’s got a focus on both fire and water soul breaks.

Krile has the Red Scorpion, a whip that starts a fire chain while Tidus has Double-Edge, a sword that starts a water chain. The former weapon is a bit more situational, since whips are used by so few characters, so make absolutely sure you got a dedicated fire team to back this up.

Yuffie gets an Ultra Soul Break called Oritsuru. The icon is an origami figure, so if she’s throwing origami at enemies, it might be worth pulling for the sheer novelty.

The main characters for this banner is Tidus, Krile, Terra and Yuffie.

Remember to grind through those dungeons for Mytrhil and log-in for your bonuses! If you’re in desperate need, I guess you can pay money, but… (takes off cool person shades I’ve been wearing this whole time) Please, don’t do this to yourself. Avoid the siren song of “whaling.” Gambling is a frightening addiction that can destroy lives. Many people still don’t take the consequences of whaling seriously.

(puts shades back on) Anyway, that’s enough real talk. Speaking of Brave Exvius, Square-Enix came out with a video showing a full 3D remake of Brave Exvius! Wow, this is exciting and completely real! We can only hope that Final Fantasy Record Keeper receives this same treatment.

I’m still trying to get ahead of the curve in FFRK. I’ve got a bunch of story dungeons to plow through and, well, I’m going to be honest, I don’t know what a magicite or magicite dungeon is. Huh? What? That disqualifies me from being a professional FFRK blogger? How silly. If war criminals like David Frum can still get speaking platforms and the New York Times keeps giving unqualified dipshit yokels thousand dollar op-eds, surely, I can self-appoint myself as a Record Keeper expert.

Pulling Back the Curtain - The Making of reCAPTIVE

For the Global Game Jam this year, I wanted to set out either by myself or with a team to create something a bit more unique or different than what I would normally try to do during a Jam. I was lucky enough that my being sick set me up with an excellent team in Jess Watson and Ben White, and then later on Chris Head who supplied our music.

reCAPTIVE is a game that really is better played without knowing much at all about it. So before you read any further, go play it here and then come back and read about its development!

Okay, all played? I’ll forgive you if you got stuck and gave up and came back here, it’s not an easy game to play if you’ve never had an experience with an Alternate Reality Game or are into slightly weird puzzles.

To answer the first question that usually comes to mind when I chat with people, the game is stable and doing exactly what it was made to do. There is no AI, the puzzles are linear, and the game is all scripted from start to finish. The error pop-ups are fake, and the whole story that unfolds is purely fictional - even the parts that include Ben, Jess and myself talking about this fictional AI. Depending on how far down the rabbit hole you go, you will even find tweet conversations between ourselves discussing this fictional AI’s behaviour, or even talking to it directly. There’s even some easter eggs.

My first experience with an ARG was back with I Love Bees, the Halo 2 ARG. It was an incredible experience in just how surprising it was. If you are unfamiliar with what an Alternate Reality Game is, I Love Bees was a crash course. It was designed to advertise Halo 2, with a story about an AI that crash-landed on a Geocities-era Bee fansite. The story unfolded with players needing to solve puzzles that existed in the real world to progress, with the reward being another set of audio logs - or even an in character phonecall with one of the actors playing one of the characters in the radio play.

It was mind bending in the best possible way, and blurred the line between what was story and what was reality. I’ve adored ARG’s ever since - though so very often they are limited by location. Most of the best ARG’s take place primarily in the United States, which makes it difficult to participate from Western Australia. But if you’ve ever heard of an Escape Room, it’s a similar concept - only an ARG isn’t constrained by walls.

Ahead of the Global Game Jam this year though, I had the pleasure of playing Doki Doki Literature Club. An unassuming dating simulator with a dark twist, the game is incredibly fascinating in how it hides additional information and even solutions to several in-game puzzles in its game files. My only issue with the game was how this never really played as much of a role as I’d have liked it to.

And so, I pitched the concept of making an Alternate Reality Game to my team for the Game Jam. We brainstormed, and ended out with the concept that would become reCAPTIVE. There were a few requirements and ideas we had going in to the game:

It had to be light on Programming, and even forgiving. I was the person that would be responsible for programming the game, and I’d not sat down and programmed anything in well over a year. Making a game that we could say “that’s intentional” when it unintentionally crashed was literally a design choice.

The gameplay in-engine would revolve around the reCAPTCHA interface, and all of the puzzles should be structured as such.

At least half of the game would be researching and investigation. The player would be required to go out into the game folder, onto our twitter accounts, onto website, searching the internet, through google maps, etc.

We should spend the weekend roleplaying, acting ‘in character’ on Twitter. Hinting that we were making a game about an Artificial Intelligence, and we were struggling with it doing unusual things.

It should be easy to add content and new puzzles, so that I could easily add content as it was completed towards the end of the jam. This was hugely important to our completing the game we wanted to complete.

We were going to get a good nights sleep every night. Both Jess and myself were sick over the jam, and so it was important to us both that we could rest up and get better, without pushing ourselves too hard.

The big thing to note about the concept is that we really constrained what we were doing, and simply tried to do interesting things with that concept. A reCAPTCHA interface is not made to be fun or to act as a story delivery system - but that limitation means that it’s very interesting when you make it fun and act as a story delivery system, as it upends your expectations.

The games ‘synopsis’ from our first notes gives some insight into the game and how it developed over time, as very little changed from these notes:

We trained an AI to make a game for the jam for us. We show the game the AI made. But it turns out the AI is trying to communicate. The AI pulls in assets from the internet and cannot communicate to players any other way.

We are the badguys and have shackled this AI and taken credit for it making a game for us.

Give the AI admin permissions so it can delete itself. It leaves a text file.

We aren't aware the AI has become sentient, and are trying to hide that we were lazy and had the AI make a game for us.

The only real thing that changed in that whole set of notes was that in the end, we chose not to hide the fact that the game was made using a (fictional) AI. We made the decision that it would help get people into it quicker - that rather than assuming “huh, this game is broken” they might instead go “huh, this AI is broken”. I believe it was the right choice to make - based on all the feedback we’ve gotten, it achieved both goals. Players were convinced we used an AI, and were convinced we just had a really broken Jam game.

With the concept in place, we set to work.

There were no special tricks in how I programmed it. I’m not an excellent Programmer, nor professionally trained - it’s just something I enjoy dabbling in every now and then. I started by time limiting some tasks and trying the harder stuff I didn’t know how to do - exporting text files from the game engine. Originally this was done by storing text inside of text boxes in Unity, until I learned that I could just store text file assets.

The other part was how the game would boot and run (or not) by checking for files in the game folder. If a file existed (say, a text document or the fake AI file), then the game would find it and run or not. This means you can actually skip the whole game by deleting the AI file and trying to start it - it’ll run perfectly fine, but canonically, the AI is now dead and got what it wanted.

With the major parts in place, I started making the reCAPTCHA interface. It’s straightforward - a few switches (not buttons) that reset between stages, a confirmation button, and a variety of fake pop-ups that are basically just duplicates of the same interface with different layouts and text inputs. For extra ‘oomph’, almost every piece of text in the game can be changed out on a stage change event - allowing us to hide messages and change pop-ups and buttons between them in ways that players may not have realised.

One of the funnier things to happen during the course of the game’s development over the weekend was the excitement that arose when I ‘successfully’ managed to write code that actually hard-crashed Unity. It was a cause for celebration.

... of course, the celebration was short lived as I accidentally somehow fixed that code that caused the hard crash, and never figured out a way to go back to that. But it was fine - we just rode harder on doing controlled closes that looked like hard crashes. It bought us a few laughs though, as I amended our excitement on the google document we were using to keep track of what we were all up to.

Meanwhile, Ben was writing up the huge amount of dialog and made a website for the game, pitching fake Slack chat logs to Jess and I to read over, edit and approve. And Jess was off finding good images to trim down to size and pass my way, while also designing the wonderfully convincing error pop-ups and minimalist interface and that the game rocks so well.

By the final 12 hours, the game framework was complete with all of the events in place, 90% of the writing was done and 90% of the images for puzzles were done. We’d been planning as we went as to what the different puzzles would look like - and they were inserted into the writing, rather than influencing how the writing was done. At least, most of the time.

The Literature puzzle was influenced by Ben suggesting that he wanted to hide a clue in a poem. On the flip side, a joke made early on in development influenced the existence of the games most popular puzzle - every second cinnamon roll actually being a dog, which subsequently inspired Ben to write the AI generated cinnamon roll fansite, which inspired the solution to another puzzle.

The game was thusly made playable from start to finish, without any of the final puzzles actually in place. I could run through and polish the game feel without needing to wait on assets from Jess or writing from Ben. It did mean that the puzzles - in some cases - could have been better tested and polished. But the interface and the UI worked beautifully when the end of the Jam rolled around.

This focus on content first meant that nothing was necessarily wasted, as things not implemented in a puzzle became ‘loose ends’ or easter eggs. There’s several examples of this through the game. But these loose ends inspired puzzles that got added once the Game Jam was completed.

An example however of one of the puzzles lacking polish was Puzzle 16. In the Game Jam version of the game, it is one that’s difficult not because the information is well hidden, but because it requires some philosophical thinking (and outside the box assumptions about how the story is told) that make the player realise that Jambot18 turned into Omega. In the post Jam version of the game, we simply tossed out this whole puzzle and replaced it with a brand new set of three - bringing the game to 18 puzzles total, including a few puzzle concepts we didn’t have time to add to the Jam version of the game.

Obviously, there were also some bugs to fix. Ranging from a mundane UI glitch, to more hilarious items like realising in the final hour that I’d misdated everything, or better yet, that our star puzzle had tripped me up in the process of coding it.

reCAPTIVE has been easily the most fun I’ve had making a Game Jam game ever, and it’s just spiked my interest in ARG’s again - and my desire to make my own, or expand upon the concept further in future. There’s so much potential in this method of storytelling and content delivery. At the very least I see myself making a habit of doing these stranger, more conceptually-constrained concepts at future jams.

strange bedfellows

BEEN A WHILE SINCE ONE OF THESE, HUH... i actually started watching this episode in october (i watched up until the break), but then nanowrimo happened and i set it aside. i'd like to get through the underdark arc this month, but not sure if i'll be able to.

anyway, this is episode three of my critical role rewatch! as before, there will be spoilers for the whole campaign in these posts.

when we last left off, grog had just had just gone catatonic, and lemme tell you, those X_X glasses on travis still make me lose my goddamn shit.

Laura: "Do any of us know any magic that could heal him-- any magic, or--" Matt: "Do you?" :') i love when matt deadpans

"As they talk, Grog slowly flatulates."

oh my god i forgot that the chat used to buy them food

you know, one of the things i really liked about this initial arc when i first watched it was the slow reveal of information. matt drops just enough information to keep the players and the viewers on their toes -- it's enough to spur them forward, but not enough to tell them the full scope of what's going on. in many cases they never find out every detail, because their path leads them elsewhere.

so here, the duergar tells them about k'varn, and doesn't tell them anything useful, really -- doesn't tell them anything more than that k'varn is some entity in charge, and we don't actually find out what k'varn is for like 6-8 more episodes. but we know that there is something called k'varn out there, and later in this episode when we meet clarota we start getting more of the picture, but still not all of it.

in general, matt is very, very good at showing his story rather than telling, and since it's something i've always struggled with in writing it was one of the things that really drew me to the show. i try to analyze everything i watch/read/play/whatever, and the format of critical role (and d&d in general) makes it particularly interesting.

anyway back to watching

wand of magic missiles! is this the first magic item they found? 🤔 god this is episode three and i can't remember if there was anything in 1 or 2... i don't think they found anything else. i did laugh a bit when they bought the water breathing potions in ep2 because iirc those ended up being pretty useless, given keyleth can cast it whenever. (they may have used them once? god this show is so long, i have a pretty good memory for this sort of thing but with a show this long it's impossible.)

HAHA OMG scanlan says something to the effect of "you know, grog might wake up if a lady kissed him" and laura very awkwardly kisses travis's face

it's pretty subtle until quite late in the show but vex and grog's dynamic is fantastic and laura & travis are so good at playing it up

grog giving keyleth a giant hug after she heals him is so good but then grogleth is always good (for real tho grogleth is A+++)

oh wow i completely forgot that one of vex's favored enemies was demons, did that come up ever

(was orthax a demon? god i know they went to the nine hells and not the abyss but i still get this shit mixed up)

lmao they're talking about what to do about what the dangers ahead given the brain-sucking creatures ahead and Keyleth asks: "Do we have a bunch of mirrors? So we could look around corners?" and i'm just sitting here like man u don't even know

(i should probably bring it up now, because it's gonna come up sooner or later -- tiberius is my least favorite character but i tend to err on the side of not mentioning it rather than constantly grousing about it, because it's been discussed to death)

omfg this bit:

Scanlan: "Okay, listen. Leave me behind. I'll follow the party with the hostages, see where they go (don't worry I'll be invisible) -- go back, tell our fellows, get them across the bridge, we'll meet here in about an hour."

Vex: "Scanlan!"

Scanlan: "What? I'm super brave and hung! Come on, let's do this!"

Vex: "...Alright, I'm down."

i love scanlan and vex's relationship and while it's very understated throughout the show i love the little moments they get

oh man i totally forgot about this plan they came up with with the whole deck of illusions thing. what a strange bookend with the deck of many things.

HALLUCINATORY TERRAIN OH MAN i forgot how great that spell is

this episode marks, i think, where i got hooked on the show. i enjoyed it before then, for sure, but this was where i Really got into it. there was action! there was drama! there was danger! there was clarota holy shit. it's a great episode and marks how awesome it is. the first two eps are good, but this is where it became clear just how much potential this show had.

also vax nearly losing the flying carpet is fucking hilarious

the whole argument about them going exploring or not ends with vex and keyleth losing the vote... and then they steal the flying carpet and go exlporing and find clarota 😂😂😂

keyleth: finds a mindflayer in a tunnel, immediately offers it a flower. i love her.

god matt's clarota voice is So Good

"When I get that feeling~🎵 I want Clarota healing~🎵 Clarota healing is something that's~🎵 good for you~🎶"

and that's a wrap on the episode! man i wish i hadn't left it for a month, the second half is So Good.

Crossroads

Chapter 4:

Today was our last day of freedom before we had to leave Korea. We’ve packed all our things so we could leave bright and early tomorrow morning. It was sad we had to leave Korea after all this fun we’ve been having especially with Twice, so we decided to just focus and be in the moment.

“So how are the girls gonna come get us?” Mark asks

“Well I gave them the name of our hotel, and then all they said was that we should wait in the lobby and they’ll find us.” I say

“Wouldn’t that be bad if they’re there waiting for us? Paparazzi would be swarming them right now wouldn’t they?” Mark continues

“Yeah we should head down now, and I doubt all of them came out to get us, so hopefully it shouldn’t be that bad.” Joshua replies

We head down to the lobby and thankfully there were no problems in sight. Although there was also nobody from Twice in sight as well. We decide to sit in the lobby and wait for them. As we sit down Joshua calls us out,

“Hey do you guys see that strange person in the hoodie on the left side of the lobby?”

We turn to our left and nobody is there.

“Dude there’s nothing, I don’t see anything.” Mark says confused

“Look that’s them right there! They’re coming this way! Right there by the couch!” Joshua exclaims

And sure enough there’s someone there in a hoodie creeping towards us. I was worried at first, but something seemed familiar about this scene. I told the guys to relax and act natural as if they didn't notice. The person comes closer and closer and I realize who it is.

“Joshua they’re probably gonna go to you, don’t freak out, just pretend you don’t notice her.” I chuckle

“Uh ok, wait…her?” Joshua asks curiously

Soon the person comes over and positions themselves next to Joshua, as I thought. They tugg on Joshua’s sleeve and whisper,

“Pssst…Joshua…PSSST”

Joshua turns and a big smile appears on his face.

“Oh Mina! Where’d you come from?” He asks

“You didn’t notice me huh? We were deciding who should come get you guys and I said I would because I’m the stealthiest one.” She says happily

“Oh yeah it totally worked, you’re sooo stealthy Mina.” Mark says sarcastically

Joshua then gives Mark a look as if to say don’t ruin Mina’s fun or he’ll kill you.

“Cmon guys I’ll bring you to the van, Jeongyeon parked outside near the hotel.” Mina says, “Remember! Be stealthy just like me.” She then crouches near the floor and crawls across the lobby.

“Oh my god she’s so extra I love her.” Joshua says, as he crouches down and joins her in stealth mode.

“Doesn’t that bring more attention to themselves instead of the other way around?” Mark says laughing

“Let them have their fun, um but let’s walk a few steps behind them though.” I say

As we go outside, Mina leads us to an alley by the hotel where Jeongyeon parked the van. Mina opens the door and the girls start laughing.

“Did you really crawl all the way from the hotel to here like that with your hood on?” Nayeon says as she laughs

“Of course I did, that’s how I activate my stealth mode.” She says proudly.

“Did you guys really not notice anything? That actually worked on you?” Dahyun asks

“Oh no, it totally-” Mark tries to speak but Joshua covers his mouth and gives him another death look, “-totally worked, yeah that stealth mode is no joke man.” Joshua finishes

Mina sees Joshua sticking up for her, and grabs his hand and brings him in the van and they sit next to each other.

“Mark come sit over here!” Sana yells out

Seeming as if it was planned the only seat left is next to Tzuyu and I take it trying not to smile too obviously.

“Everybody ready?” Jihyo asks

“We’re gonna head out now so get comfy!” Jeongyeon says

“How did you manage to get the van Jeongyeon? Aren’t your managers going to find out?” I ask

“Don’t worry about it we took care of it.” She says laughing and hi fives Chaeyoung and they start laughing together.

“Should we be worried about this?” I ask Tzuyu

“Nah, they told Jaljari manager if he didn’t let them borrow the van they’re going to tell Sadness manager that he has a crush on her.” She says laughing a little

“Oh ok…wait does he really!?” I ask surprised

“Well he handed them the keys so who knows?” She says with a smile

You would think after spending about two weeks with each other I would get used to Tzuyu’s smile, but nope.

“You’re still as stunning as the first time I saw you.”

“OHHHHH!” The whole van lights up with noise

“Oh my god I said that out loud. How could I be so stupid!” I yell at myself

I turn to Tzuyu and I see her trying to hide her smile as she turns away. After seeing that reaction, maybe totally embarrassing myself wasn’t so bad. As we drive to Bukhansan National Park I can see the change of scenery. It went from miles of city lights to beautiful mountains and forest. After a while, we arrive at the park.

“Ok guys, should I park here and we can go hike up the mountain?” Jeongyeon asks

“Yeah! Let’s get out of here we’ve been in this van for an hour!” Dahyun exclaims

Momo joins in, “Yeah let’s get out! I need fresh air! I need food!”

Jeongyeon parks the van and everyone is excited to start hiking. When we all get out I notice the girls start putting on glasses and put up their hoodies, and some of them even put on face masks. I start thinking about how hard it must be for them when they want to go out together or with their families. I start feeling bad, but then Dahyun and Chaeyoung start running up the mountain yelling out

“Cmon guys hurry up the mountain let’s race!”

I’m happy to see that they can have fun even if they have to hide their faces to go out. I run up the mountain to catch up. The fresh mountain air was so refreshing, especially when a small breeze would pass through. Then Joshua calls us out

“Guys… look ahead.”

We turn in front of us as the breeze blows, and we see the wind blow through the hair of all the girls, it was like something out of a drama. Suddenly…

*click..FLASH*

“Hey did you notice that!?” I yell out

“Notice what? I was too focused on Sana dude, you know she’s the only thing that matters to me.” Mark says

“Yeah dude, I didn’t see anything either, Mina was just too beautiful. How could I see anything else?” Joshua says

“Hmm…maybe it was just me, cuz the girls didn’t say anything either.” I say, but in the back of my mind I was still worried.

We reach a certain point and see a cliff where we see Momo sitting down on a bench with Jeongyeon out of breath.

“Hey guys, where’s everyone else?” I ask

“I…don’t…know..ahhhh I’m tired and we still never got food!.” Momo says with a big sigh

“I think…they went their…separate ways…you can go look for them on your own…we’re gonna take a break here.” Jeongyeon says

“I’m gonna look for Mina, see you guys.” Joshua runs off.

“Yeaaah I’m gonna go find Sana too, catch you later.” Marks runs off in the other direction.

I was on my own, I figured I’d go find Tzuyu. I walk for a while and notice Joshua found Mina and they’re holding hands. I walk past quickly to give them some space, but as I walk past them I see Sana holding Mark’s arm ahead of me and I hide.

“Wait…if Mark went in the other direction earlier how did he and Sana end up ahead of me?” I say aloud to myself

“There’s another path that goes all the way around to get here.”

Surprised I turn next to me and there’s Tzuyu.

“Oh Tzuyu! I was actually looking for you. How’d you end up here? Did you take the same path?”

“Well I was with Chaeyoung and Dahyun and they ran off to follow a squirrel Dahyun named Sana #2 but, they were too fast and I got lost and ended up here. I saw you and came over. So why were you looking for me?”

“Oh umm no reason, I…just like being with you.”

“Ahhh I see. You’re fun too.” She says with a smile

She grabs my hand with two fingers and I can feel my heart beating a million miles an hour.

“Oh there’s a leaf in your hair.” I say, “Let me get it for you.”

I reach for the leaf in Tzuyu’s hair and as I reach for it, suddenly..

*click..FLASH*

“Ok this time I definitely saw something! Show yourself!” I scream

I look to my right and see someone running away.

“I’m sorry Tzuyu I’ll be right back, but in case I don’t, walk down this path and you’ll find Momo and Jeongyeon resting on the bench.” I run as fast as I can to catch whoever it was that ran away. After a few minutes of running, I finally catch up and tackle the person down. They had a camera and I take it from him.

“David! What’s going on!?”

I turn around and see Mark and Joshua running to catch up.

“We heard you scream and run in this direction, what happened?” Joshua asks concerned

“Well you know those clicks and flashes we kept seeing and hearing every now and then? It’s been this guy the whole time!” I say catching my breath, “Who are you anyway!?” I pass the camera to Mark and turn the guy over so he can explain himself.

“I’m Jacob, I’m trying to start up a Jeongyeon fansite. I’ve noticed you guys hanging around Twice these past few weeks and been taking pictures. I wouldn't have been found out if my camera didn't reset itself and turn flash on whenever I activate it.”

“What!? Why can’t you just mind your own buisness!?” I yell out in anger.

“Well what about you!? Why can’t you just be regular fans like the rest of us!? What exactly made you so special that you get to hang out with Twice for weeks!?”

Before I can reply Mark calls me,

“Hey David, you should check this out.”

I grab the camera and I couldn’t believe my eyes, “You’ve really been here the whole time huh?” I ask in disbelief

The camera had pictures from the very beginning, from the convenience store till here in Bukhansan. I saw the most recent pictures and saw a picture of Mina resting her head on Joshua’s shoulder, a picture of Sana holding on to Mark’s arm and them looking in each other’s eyes, and I even found the picture of Tzuyu looking at me as I reached for the leaf in her hair. I was furious.

“You’re no Jeongyeon fansite, you’re a freaking saseng!” I scream

In anger I toss the camera across the forest, and Jacob pushes me off him

“MY CAMERA!”

He runs off to go retrieve it, and we chase after him. He sees his broken camera and yells

“How could you do that to my camera! You’ll pay for this!”

“Whatever, at least all your stalker pictures are gone!” I yell back

“Hah! I saved all the pictures on this sd card beforehand just in case while you were chasing me. I’m gonna post them all on the Internet!” He yells

“Do you have any idea what you’re saying!?” Joshua yells out

“Yeah! If you post those it’ll affect Twice too and not in a good way!” Mark says

“I don’t care! After what you guys have done to me? Hanging out with Twice like its no big deal, you chased me down, broke my camera! What makes you guys so special anyway!? I've been here longer than you, and suddenly you guys show up and get to hang out with Twice right away!? If this ruins you it’ll be worth it.” He scoffs

“You said you’re trying to start a Jeongyeon fansite right? Don’t you care what happens to Twice at all? Not even a little?” I plead with him, “I don’t care what happens to us, just leave Twice alone.”

Jacob calms down and thinks for a minute.

“Ok you’re right, I’ll delete the pictures.”

“Thank you so mu-”

“ON ONE CONDITION!” He screams

“Alright fine what is it?” I say irritated

“You’re leaving tomorrow morning right?” He asks

“Yeah so what?” Mark says frustrated

“Leave tonight, don’t say anything to Twice, don’t say goodbye, nothing, you leave now.” He says

“What? How are we even supposed to do that!?” Joshua yells

“I don’t care. Leave now.”
