thinking about a world in which RR actually committed to the path he set Percy on in hoo (wherein Percy has become jaded, angry, and resentful at the gods for breaking their sworn promises, is frequently sympathizing with Luke, is getting more and more powerful, and frequently losing himself to wrath) and instead of the subsequent Percy Jackson books being about getting recommendation letters, we could have gotten a trilogy exploring a fallen hero arc for Percy (that would ultimately have a positive resolution to it.)
#to be clear I'm not asking for a tragic ending lol#I'd want this to ultimately be a happy ending for Percy#(even if it gets much worse before it gets better)#im looking for something that actually explores and expands upon the clear distress and turmoil and resentment#that Percy is BARELY able to suppress at this point#im looking for something that will actually hold the gods responsible for breaking their promises#but that would require RR to write a definitive end for Percy and co's stories#which he'll never do#so Percy will just continue to spiral and spiral and spiral#and there will never be any meaningful emotional resolution to it#I hate it here#pjo#percy jackson#mine

Really I think nothing shouts "my first Presidential election as a politically active person was 2016" more than the fact that when I feel hope and excitement for the future (possible President Harris) for more than five minutes I immediately get a crushing, all-consuming anxiety of "feeling this positive emotion now is going to make it so much worse when the worst thing possible happens" to the extent that I'll probably need my break-glass-in-case-of-emergency anxiety medication.

So apparently the symptoms for chronic fatigue include loss of memory, reduced concentration, and fainting/lightheadedness when sitting/standing up?? Why didn't anyone tell me about this 😭
#the last one about orthostatic intolerance is flooring me#i literally got tested for POTS bc of how frequently i pass out or get lightheaded from standing up#like its so bad that i got tested for POTS. and it came back negative. and i just gave up after that#but youre telling me that theres ANOTHER condition that can cause that??#and this same condition also causes memory issues which i also have and have been getting worse for years??#and the condition in question is 'tired all the time and sleep doesnt help' disorder#which is ALSO an issue ive had since at least middle school???#and the getting exhausted even after light exercise and mental work#and apparently even sore/swollen lymph nodes?? which is something thats been happening to me randomly recently???#what the fuck man 😭 why havent i looked into this before#'symptoms must last at least 6 months' brother my symptoms have lasted for at least 14 YEARS#...i think i need to talk to my doctor#rambling

I think it says something that Jimmy absolutely destroyed the crew and ship in half the time Curly was captain. Like he couldn’t even get them past 2 full months before breaking down.
Like he really couldn’t be half the man he thought Curly was.
#like I think it’s crazy cause the whole trip from when we start the game is like 6 months#they are only six months into the trip post crash it’s why getting help was so futile#they had to survive another 6-7 with almost no resources sense most actual food resources where blocked off or destroyed#I see people saying they were surviving for six months after the crash or at least five but it’s only two#they were on the ship for 4 months before hand like the time frames we play are extremely small in retrospect#it’s like what 187 days when we get into the game? that’s about 6 months total#like I’m sorry this is also about peop saying Anya was liek 5 months pregnant but I think a big point is the assault just happened and Curly#didn’t react to it correct initially cause like have you seen someone whose 5 months pregnant?
