Fanart for this ACHINGLY GUT WRENCHING FIC! 'my body is young (but my mind is very old)' by green_tea_and_honey!!

Chapter 20 made me ugly sob y'all, I m not kidding (My eyes were puffy for the whole day LMAO) I can't express in words how this fic touched my soul so I decided to make fanart. This illustration is based on this part of the fic 👇 (under the cut) It's not biblically accurate but I like it. (Spoilers ahead!)

“Okay,” he whispered to himself, clenching and unclenching his fists. “Okay. You’re okay. You’re okay.”

The wave of panic he expected never came, even as water sloshed in, soaking his waist and rising more rapidly than ever now that Bill had been swept away. He could smell it, as if he had never left; salt, sand, and a hint of oil from a nearby factory that he suspected had stained the beach with its constant dumping in the ocean.

“I’m okay,” Ford said, looking at his hands, and taking a long, slow breath. “I’m okay.”

You guys should go read the fic and give it lots of love. I guarantee you all it's worth it!

(also small note; I have a lot of fanart for fics otw, I'm just busy with college and deadlines so it might take a while lolz)

#another thing I love about the fic is Bill and Ford's relationship #I love Billford and I enjoy fluffy fanart/fics of them but I won't deny that canonically #the ship is toxic asf and the chances of them actually getting together and be happy are slim #(that's why I prefer redemption fics)#but this fic-- This fic made me happy. I love that Ford finally moved on from Bill. He got his (somewhat) happy ending #Bill here has a mountain of issues so it'll take 9999999 years for him to get his happy ending LMAO. Context:

Bill trapped Ford in a bubble, screwing his view of reality. In order to trick Ford, Bill has repressed his memories and manipulated him into believing that he lives with Bill back in the shack where they're both working to complete the 'portal'. Bill's goal here is to get the equation he desperately needed in order to escape Gravity Falls.

An important thing to note is that whenever Ford remembers, the whole scenario resets.

#This is also another old art/video of mine #The Bill design I was using here is old #I recently redesign my Human Bill design so this version of Bill isn't cannon. (in my au lol)#This AU idea came to mind one day where Ford got trapped in a bubble (Like Mabel)#Time moves differently there so for Ford. he was with Bill for months before he slowly started remembering #I have two videos about this AU right now. Thanks for all the support and tears you all have supplied, it fueled my motivation to finish this comic! XD

This idea came to me in a dream one day and I couldn't stop thinking about it, so after days I finally decided to make it. This is my interpretation of how Ford died and the before events of Route #9 in the Mr.BillPines AU! I really love that au and it's potential for angst, so definitely props to Honeqq for inspiring me :3 (Go check out their AU if you haven't yet 🫵)
