2. The Footprint of a Giant
I've said before that Sunda Systems was a global company, but I don't think even I understood the scale of the investigation I was undertaking. The first thing I needed to do was get a sense of the scope. To do that I needed to understand the corporate layout.
To start, Sunda is an umbrella company that has quietly (and not so quietly) purchased a lot of technological companies.
Tumblr media
Sunda Systems had complete ownership or majority stake in things I'd never imagined.
Some things I would have anticipated. For example, in 2021, they purchased the internet radio company Re:Mx and they had controlling interest in a broadcasting technologies company called Ressepont. For a corporation focused on wireless connectivity, these things made sense to me.
Engineering and satellite companies? Sure. Even the three laser research companies kind of made sense. I could talk myself into the idea of using lasers for fiber optics.
But then there was the medical research. They outright owned Brainwire, a tech start up that wanted to create a human-computer interface. They also owned Lotus Clinical Research and it's subsidiaries.
What on Earth would that have been for? A sideways purchase in the name of portfolio diversification?
It got stranger when I found court documents of Lotus trying to fend off a hostile takeover. Brainwire seems to have gone smoothly. If you started tiny company in your back shed and a giant like Sunda approached you with a truck of money, you're not going to turn it down. But Lotus appeared to be functioning well on its own and the CEO, James Pepper, did not want to sell.
Until he suddenly did.
Tumblr media
Hundreds of documents and depositions were attached as exhibits to this Order.
When Mr. Pepper first files his injunction to stop Sunda from buying Lotus, it was because the swing vote on the board, John Delphine, began behaving strangely. Here is testimony from his initial October 1, 2008 filing:
It appears that John has lost his mind. Years we spent building this company from the ground up. We wrote protocols together late into the nights. We found medical equipment anywhere we could. We found doctors willing to work with a couple of scrappy upstarts. And god damnit we did it. We made this company profitable. And now? Sunda Systems waves a couple dollars at him and he's ready to sign the company over? No. No chance in hell. No amount of money is worth the work we put in here, and he knows it. I don't believe he's in his right mind, and I would like him assessed by a professional. It had to be some kind of nervous break or an addiction or something! There is no other reason he would come into my office in the state he was in. Talking so fast about the wonderful multinational conglomerate that wants to buy us out. I was only catching every three words. He was maddened! That wasn't the John I knew.
Mr. Pepper fought tooth and nail against the sale of his company by his partner. The suit lasted three months. Mr. Delphine never got his psychological evaluation. Instead, Mr. Pepper simply gave up the fight. This is a retraction that Mr. Pepper gave on December 21, 2008, leading to the closing of the case:
I now see what John saw back in October, and I apologize for thinking what I thought about him. I'm still worried about the zeal with which he approached me, but the points he made were valid ones. Ego kept me from seeing the truth. It is my wish to retract my claim of mental incapacity and move forward with the sale to Sunda Systems and I am very excited to work with them in a subordinate position so that I can continue to shepherd out company to greatness.
The recorder who took Mr. Pepper's retraction noted in the filing that the man appeared tired and defeated with red eyes.
Mr. Pepper and Mr. Delphine are now high ranking executives in Sunda's Clinical Research Division, and both have offices in the Eden Springs Campus.
I reached out to them, posing as a reporter following up on the sale years later. I asked if they'd had any regrets selling Lotus to Sunda. Oddly, they both answered the exact same way, verbatim:
"It is a wonderful opportunity to work for such a forward thinking company. I wouldn't leave it for anything."
It sounded obviously rehearsed; even more so after I heard it the second time.
During my call with the men, the webcam light on my laptop came on again, only turning back off after I had hung up. That seemed far too much of a coincidence. I don't want to believe that someone in the company is keeping tabs on me, but a company dedicated to the internet has to have someone who can hack a webcam.
I'm proceeding with the assumption that I'm being monitored. I wondered if I should try to get a new router, but every time I think about it, it seems so overwhelming. My provider uses Sunda equipment exclusively so I'd have to find a new provider and cancel my service and it just all seems too much. I'll just keep it. What harm could it really be doing?
The last piece of information I found today was an old classified add for the home of the Delphine family. They listed their Eden Springs home in early 2009 and it sold for $349,000. Quite the windfall for that era of history.
Out of curiosity, I looked up John Delphine in the Avery County Tax Assessment records and found he and his wife's new address.
Tumblr media
They live on-site at the Eden Springs Campus in an apparent outbuilding on the same property as the offices.
Perhaps it's time for a visit to North Carolina so I can get a real look at Maple Hall.

BLOGGIES 2023 BEST BLOG POST OF THE YEAR
Tumblr media
On 31 January 2024, the tabletop-roleplaying-game community voted for the Best Blog Post Of 2023.
Contenders were drawn from the winners of four categories. Links, as well as their very excellent acceptance speeches---more exhortations and manifestos, really!---found here:
Theory
Gameable
Advice
Review
+++
Anyway---you voted. Results were very close; I was constantly worried about a tie. Nevertheless, a winner emerged:
Tumblr media
Congratulations are in order, and an acceptance speech follows.
+++
Tumblr media
(Like an idiot, I didn't plan for, and therefore didn't have the time to make a bespoke prize for the overall Bloggie winner. So they'll just get a full quadtych of lino prints. Fortunately these don't look too bad together!)
PLATINUM BLOGGIE FOR BEST BLOG POST OF THE YEAR:
🔮Re-inventing the Wilderness: Part 1 - Introduction🔮 from SachaGoat
Sacha:
As an (award-winning) blogger who only started 6 months ago - I want to use this "acceptance speech" to share the 5 steps that will start your blog: 1. You don't need a cool blog name. screenname(dot)blogspot(dot)com is probably available - you can move it later if you think of a cool name. The trick here is to set it up so your ideas can go live as soon as you're happy (or tired of editing). 2. Post something. Dust off your notebook (or note-taking app) and turn those musings into a structured post with paragraphs and context. Don't have anything ready to go? Take your latest game session and write a play report or spotlight a specific moment. This will take less time than your ttrpg prep. 3. Share it! With your gaming group, ttrpg friends, community discords, xwitter/bluesky, reddit, forums etc. 4. Don't worry about the rest. I don't have a fancy blog template. I've yet to compile a sidebar or blogroll. I don't have a newsletter or patreon. 5. Continue. Your readers will contribute with comments. You will be shared in community newsletters. Peers will write posts inspired by your posts. Your ideas will be used at another gaming table. (And if you're lucky, you can win the next BLOGGIES.) If you've shared your prep with a fellow DM… if you've contributed opinions on a ttrpg discord or forum… if you've read a blog post and have a thought that builds on it… if you have any tabletop advice or ideas … 👏 Start 👏 a 👏 blog This finally brings me to the "thanks". Winning the 2023 BLOGGIES is such a wonderful welcome to this creative niche. Many thanks to the creators who encourage the community to blog (especially around June 2023, I can actually see the thread that motivated me to start). I also want to thank a community whose collective enthusiasm and support nudge me to release the next post. And finally, everyone who voted for my post over the amazing nominations this year - a huge thank you.
+++
On a personal note: I am really thrilled at this final result.
The BLOGGIES can come off as clique-ish. Voting is public, but "public" on the Internet generally means a circle-jerk between subculture friends, a popularity contest.
This thing began as a jokey riff on those best-tweet-of-the-year polls over on Twitter. While Prismatic Wastelands grew it into a celebration of OSR blogging culture, it still has NSR / POSR inclinations---the specific community soil it sprung from.
As host this year I tried to extend the BLOGGIES' reach. Canvassing for nominations outside the OSR space got a couple of indie-RPG designers on the finalists list. Am proud of that; we have much to learn from each other.
I made prizes---hoping that, one day, with enough dangling carrots, these awards will eventually be tasty enough for non-POSR cliques / communities to attempt a takeover? We'll see.
Ultimately: I am glad to water this sapling and watch it grow slowly. Community is made by growing trees, not building greenhouses.
+++
SachaGoat snagging the final win is a vindication.
Sacha's blog is new. We don't share any Discord servers. We've never spoken, hitherto; the first time I messaged him ever was to tell him he'd won the Advice category.
The BLOGGIES fulfils its purpose: to introduce folks to quality blogs; to preach the gospel and importance of blogging. Its shade is spreading.
I'm glad to get to know Sacha and his blog. (Obviously it's been added to my must-read list!) I am honoured to be passing the torch: Sacha has agreed to host BLOGGIES 2024.
Thank you, everybody. Here's to growing trees.

(sorry for the delay in getting this thread up, but in my defense my internet has been bad and Dawntrail released)
Control is a game by Remedy- the first of theirs I actually played, believe it or not, which made all the stories of "Remedy made one(1) good game and the rest of their catalog sucks) feel very strange. But enough about me and my experiences with the game. All you need to know going into this is that it's one of my favorite games, it's SCP Adjacent but without all the loser edgelord stuff (and only a little bit of the trying too hard) and is really just, genuinely fantastic an experience. I hope you're ready to peer behind the poster…
youtube
Video Length: 3:58:03
We start off with a brief narration from our good friend Jesse Faden, setting up the vibe as we head into the Federal Bureau of Control. The dream-like atmosphere establishes itself immediately as we meet Ahti, the lovely Finnish janitor who is everybody's friend and not suspicious at all, as he welcomes the new hire for janitor's assistant. The way opens up for us to the head office, where Director Trench would be… and instead we find his body, and an ever shifting gun of cubes and thought. The Service Weapon, our bread-and-butter for the game. One might think a simple revolver wouldn't quite fit the aesthetic of a game like this, but the presentation of what this gun IS, like literally IS, helps push that over from simple gun to something a bit more. The fact that it doesn't need ammo helps.
Interfacing with the Service Weapon also introduces us to the Board, which I constantly call the Board of Directors because even though they aren't Directors (we're the Director) they are the Board, and in business terms the Board has to be of something and ergo they are the board OF directors. Not that they are directors on the board, but they are the board in charge of Directors. It makes sense if you think about it sideways enough. They advise us that the FBC is currently undergoing a minor hostile takeover attempt and it is up to us to put an end to this deal and politely ask the deal-maker to leave. Thanks to something unique about Jesse (or the presence she talks to) she's able to do just that, when her Service Weapon proves insufficient at negotiations at any rate.
Jesse has many tasks to do as director/janitor's assistant, and we accomplish a number of them this stream. We engage with some of our employees, we figure out how to navigate the Hotel to get to our special phone-line, we find an old floppy disc that gives us the single most satisfying telekinetic throw I have ever experience in any video game ever oh my god the sheer joy of YEETING something with such extreme speeds is to die for, and we find a funny carousel horse that lets us air dash. We also make sure to read all the documents that pass our desk, listen to voice-mails from our predecessor, and watch a few episodes of our in-house children's programming, for better or worse. All in a days work for Jesse.
So yeah. Control. Hope you enjoy, I look forward to subjecting you all to more of it. Thank you for watching and take care, we will continue this journey every Thursday… within reason, I may or may not be getting a job soon which would by necessity change my schedule. We'll see.

The Unseen Gems: Why Our Videos Are Too Hot for YouTube!"
📹🚫😢 "The Unseen Gems: Why Our Videos Are Too Hot for YouTube!" 😂🔥
Hey there, fellow content explorers! Welcome to my ROFL-worthy blog where I spill the beans 🌽 on why our epic videos are nowhere to be found on YouTube. Get ready for a wild ride of laughter and emoji-mania! 🎢💫
YouTube's Secret Crush: 😍🤖 It turns out YouTube has a major crush on our videos! Each time we upload one, the platform gets so flustered that its algorithms go haywire. The poor website can't handle the sheer awesomeness of our content and hides our videos in a digital panic. Aww, YouTube, it's just trying to save face! 😂🤖
The Bermuda Triangle of Virality: 🌊🚢 Our videos have mysteriously vanished into the Bermuda Triangle of Virality! Legends say this mystical zone in the digital ocean swallows content whole, leaving even the most epic videos stranded in obscurity. Our videos are just chilling there with Amelia Earhart and the lost city of Atlantis. 😱🏴‍☠️
Alien Fan Club Takeover: 👽🎉 Our content is so out-of-this-world fantastic that it attracted the attention of an alien fan club! The extraterrestrial aficionados were so impressed that they decided to keep our videos all to themselves, sharing them only at Area 51's top-secret parties. We're flattered, really. 🛸🥳
YouTube's April Fools' Prank Gone Wrong: 🤪🎭 YouTube once played an epic prank on us, promising to showcase our videos to the world on April Fools' Day. However, they accidentally turned it into an everlasting joke by burying our videos in a virtual vault. We hope they'll reveal the punchline soon! 🙏🤭
The Invisible Video Syndrome: 🤫🎥 Our videos suffer from an unfortunate case of "Invisible Video Syndrome." Whenever we upload them, they become invisible to everyone except our pet hamster, Mr. Fluffy. Don't worry; we're working on getting him a YouTube account so he can enjoy them too! 🐹💻
The Hipster Algorithm: 🎩🎶 Turns out, YouTube's algorithm has become a hipster! It's so obsessed with promoting obscure content that it refuses to acknowledge anything remotely mainstream—like our videos. We're simply too cool for the algorithm to handle. 😎💼
Cats Took Over: 😼🐾 Our videos were sabotaged by a conspiracy of cats! Feline overlords are determined to keep all internet fame for themselves. They hacked into YouTube's system and replaced our videos with hours of cute cat antics. We're planning a "Purrfect Revenge" campaign. 🐱🔪
Time-Traveling Trolls: ⏳🧙‍♂️ A mischievous gang of time-traveling trolls decided to prank us by zapping our videos out of existence. They even left a note, saying they needed the server space for their 37-hour medieval cat juggling marathon. Medieval cat juggling? Now that's a sight we'd pay to see! 🏰🐈🤹♂️
The "Only-on-Alternate-DimensionTube" Dilemma: 🌌🤔 Our videos accidentally got uploaded to "Alternate-DimensionTube," a parallel universe's version of YouTube. We hear they have subscribers from intelligent slime molds to tea-sipping octopuses. Let's just say our videos are a hit in the multiverse! 🌠🌐
So there you have it, the hilarious reasons why our fantastic videos are nowhere to be found on YouTube. But don't worry, we won't give up! We'll keep striving for internet fame and fortune, even if the universe itself is conspiring against us. Until then, keep laughing, stay quirky, and may the mischievous internet forces be ever in your favor! 😄✨🌈

daddy issues - chapter iv
The one where Ransom doesn’t feel ready to become a father, but he should have thought about it before sleeping with a complete stranger.
When Ransom’s latest one night stand lets him know that he’s going to become a father, he finds himself looking for the qualities he never believed to have so he can become the parent he never got to witness as a child.
for general warnings and author’s notes, please go to the fic’s masterlist. It’s being constantly updated and if you’d like to be tagged on my following Chris Evans and characters stories, just fill out this form.
Tumblr media
Y/N’s P.O.V.
“Okay, I’m here now. What was the important thing you had to tell me about?” Ana’s arrival startled me, and I almost spilled some of the hot chocolate I had been clinging to like a lifeline while I waited for her arrival. I’d never been one to really crave the sweet drink when it wasn’t near Christmas, but I guess things really were starting to feel different now.
I took a deep breath while I waited for my friend to place her order, trying to get my nerves in check. It’d been a few hours since I stormed out of Ransom’s office and I still felt my heartbeat slightly out of pace, begging me to look for dangers lurking in the shadows that weren’t really there.
This would be my first time telling someone who was already a part of my life about the new one I was supposed to bring into the world. Ana was a mock test for how I would tell my parents about the baby, and the fact that apparently, there would be no other parent in sight.
The thought had me looking at my phone, as if some part of me was still waiting for Ransom to reach out. It’d only been half a day. It was okay if he needed more time to figure things out - this wasn’t exactly easy news to bear, I would know. It took me more than a few hours to process everything.
But still, I was surprised that there was a part of me that believed he would actually want to be a part of this. I didn’t know a lot about him, but from what I did read while searching for his work address, he didn’t seem like the type of guy who would bother showing up as a parent.
“Hello? Are you still there?” Once again I was awakened from my thoughts by Ana’s sweet voice, this time paired with a concerned face. “Okay, now I’m worried. What is it exactly that you need to tell me? Did something happen?”
Okay, here it goes.
“I’m pregnant.”
After the understandable fit of laughter when she immediately assumed I was joking, the following guilty apology for not believing in me and the incessant questioning about how the situation had come to be, I was finally done talking and the reality of what was happening seemed to finally be settling in on her.
“Oh my God, you’re actually pregnant. With Ransom Drysdale’s baby.” Instinctively, my hands covered my belly, even though it was in no way, shape or form, any different from how it looked like just a month ago.
“Excuse me? I’m pregnant with my own child. Ransom might choose to be a part of it, but it’s still mine, I’m not just a carrier for his genes.” Something in the look she sent me had my insides freezing, and I immediately felt vulnerable. “What?”
She opened her mouth to answer, but seemed to think better and shook her head, looking down at her drink instead, but I needed to know. So I reached out and put my hand over hers, so she’d know to look me in the eye again. “What?” I repeated, and even though she took a deep breath to gather her courage, she ended up spilling out anyway.
“I just don’t think you should get your hopes up about him wanting to be a part of this, that’s all.” The sentence surprised me, even though I wasn’t getting my hopes up anyway. It just seemed like there was something she knew, something that made her 100% certain about him not deciding to call me that had my stomach in knots.
It seemed like, even though I didn’t want to admit it, the thought of doing this completely alone terrified me.
“Why?” Again, Ana seemed to hesitate. Still, it seemed like she knew this was something I needed to hear, because after taking a sip of her drink, she launched right at it.
“He’s just not the type, hun. You just moved here, so you don’t know, but he’s always been a screw-up. Everyone was so surprised when he actually decided to settle down with his trust fund, playboy lifestyle and assume his grandfather’s company. I still don’t think he actually works there, anyway. He’s probably just the face of the business, so he’d stop openly doing stuff that’d hurt his family’s name.”
I had heard of Ransom before, of course - hence why the name was recognizable to me that morning at his place. Right after I moved, his takeover became the main story in the local news, and the way it was portrayed by the press made it very clear that the surprising aspect of it was how this wasn’t something to be expected of him. But I thought the bad parts of his story had been a thing of the past - he was a man now. I mean, I never would have slept with him if he wasn’t so clearly older than thirty, maybe even thirty-five. Just how immature could a man in that age really be?
Apparently, a lot. Ana told me as much about his not-so-ancient past as she possibly could, before she had to leave to get ready for a date, and then I was left with a running mind and my fully-charged phone to google the shit out of him, finding much more than I ever thought I could possibly discover on the internet.
Guess finding someone’s work address really isn’t a big deal when their dick is out for the world to see.
Sitting with all of that information only made Ana’s parting words resonate even more through me. “No reason to feel down about it, hun! He’s definitely not worth it. Even if he did end up wanting this child anyway, he’s not really fit to become a father, anyway.”
Maybe it would have been easier to digest all of that if she’d managed to sleep on it and work through her issues in the morning, like she usually did. But all her plans for the evening went downhill when she arrived home in the pouring rain, to find Ransom waiting for her just outside her apartment’s door.

I called my dad to wish him a happy birthday and at the tail end of the call (the “oh wait, one more thing before I go” that dads all do) he brought up how [“did you see”] Sanders apparently proposed to nationalize electricity. So my dad went off on how the Democrats are “so far left anymore” and we got into it a little bit.
I brought up how there’s already little in the way of competition; “but the consumer still has a choice” - yeah, I answered, in the distributor. We hardly have any real say in who generates electricity or how.
He went so far as to say “you people” (anarchists or other “anti-government” radicals) “might want to vote for Trump just to oppose this kinda thing. Forget your symbolic 3rd party votes, this is serious.”
I told him that the writing has been on the walls for this kind of takeover of utilities for decades. I brought up Smart Grids and meter readings and usage statistics, the scarcity of existing fuels and the pressures that will create economically if we don’t, as consumers, demand more sustainable long-term plans for maintaining our current levels of energy consumption.
I pushed the discussion to the furthest extreme: “Dad,” I said, “all utilities are going to be controlled by the State one way or the other by the end of the century. They will ration this stuff. They will monitor every home’s usage, living ‘off the grid’ will be illegal, and they will tell us how much electricity, gas, water, and internet we will be allowed to use each month.”
“Oh nooooOooo,” he groaned, dismissed me. “No, it’ll never get that bad.”
He, like so many other Americans of all political affiliations, is so ready to accept that things are bound to “get bad”. But when presented with the logical conclusion, the extreme that both corporate parties will support, you are met with “oh, but not that bad.” And so he feeds into the illusion that he can stop this if he just casts a ballot for the right person or, in this case, against the wrong person.

Title: Between Close Friends
Rating: General Audience
Chapters: 1/1
Relationship: Ted Lasso/Rebecca Welton
Summary: Ted is bad at social media, but is that a bad thing?
Ted, what the fuck are you doing????
Ted peers at his phone, rubbing sleep from his eyes and reads the message again.
He scrolls down and sees he has twelve more texts and three missed calls all from Keeley Jones. He turns off his nighttime notifications with a few exceptions for emergency contacts, so it’s not surprising he slept through the messages.
He scratches at the stubble along his cheek and checks his clock. It’s seven o’clock here in Kansas, so it must be . . . early afternoon in London. He thinks through the last day, but he can’t remember anything interesting enough to have Keeley on the case.
Henry came over to his extended-stay hotel, they went to an American football game, got a late dinner in downtown Wichita, and watched a movie before bed.
They did make it on the Jumbotron for the Lasso-off, the team’s half-time dance contest, but his moves weren’t especially embarrassing. At least not in his opinion. Unless one of the moves was actually an insult to the English in which case, oh jeeze, he needs to get on this quick.
The call barely connects before Keeley’s voice echoes in his ear.
“Oy! Ted!”
“Keeley, I am so sorry for whatever I did to offend the great people of the United Kingdom. I am ready to make a statement and an apology tour as soon as you tell me which dance move I need to retire immediately.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I need you to log out of the AFC Richmond Instagram account. Like, now.”
That stops Ted in his tracks.
Does he even have access to that? He remembers a post-it note of accounts and passwords from Beard on their first day with Richmond.
There was an account run by the previous manager, but Keeley had taken it over long ago, converting it to the official team account. She had also made Ted a personal Instagram for his own use and brand development, but he never posted publicly.
He puts her on speaker phone and opens the Instagram app. She’s right. He’s logged into the team account with all 25 million followers. Well, shoot.
There are about a dozen stories posted from last night. All of Ted and Henry’s day together. There’s puns (“having a cow” at dinner with an image of Henry holding up a beef rib and screaming his head off), Ted and Henry singing at a dueling piano bar, the two brushing their teeth together in the bathroom mirror.
“No offense, but I think this may delay the Tom Ford deal you asked me about.”
“Yeah. I get that.”
“It’s just, you know, dads aren’t quite their brand. Or our brand. I mean we’re not anti-dorky dad, but you know with the whole comeback narrative during the season hiatus . . .”
“No I get it. You’ve put a lot of work into rebranding this team and I just undermined that.”
She sighs, but it’s fond.
“Sorry, Ted. It’s not like what you posted was bad, it’s rather sweet actually. It’s just a little different from the posts I had scheduled.”
Ted nodded. It wasn’t the most embarrassing thing that had ever happened to him, but he felt bad for making Keeley’s job harder than it needed to be.
“No, I’m sorry Keeley. I swear, it won’t happen again.”
****
“Can you believe what Ted did last night? I’ve never seen someone so bad at social media.”
Rebecca has no idea what Keeley is talking about when she walks into her office. She flops onto the couch, feet splayed on the coffee table, clearly exhausted by whatever Ted has done from 4,438 miles away.
“So many puns. Which, don't get me wrong, I love word play more than most people. But I don’t think it’s right for the team right now.”
Rebecca shuts her laptop.
“You’re right about puns not being part of the team plan, but what’s this about Ted? What did he do, exactly?”
Ted hasn’t posted anything in at least 24 hours. Not that Rebecca is keeping track.
“Oh he managed to switch to the team account on Instagram and posted about his entire evening out with Henry. It was quite sweet, actually. The ones that made sense,” but then she pulled a face.”He’s like, really, really bad at social media.”
Oof. Well that isn’t great, but Rebecca doesn’t think there’s anything particularly terrible about Ted’s social media use normally.
“But everything seems under control? No big PR actions needed.”
“It’s fine. I had him log out and wrote a post about Coach Lasso’s surprise social media takeover from America.”
Rebecca nods. Okay, so it was all sorted. Keeley has things totally under control.
But she reaches for her phone anyway. She opens Instagram, taps through the AFC Richmond stories, and snorts at the image of Henry with the rib as big as his head.
“Are people at least being kind?” Rebecca hopes Ted logged out without seeing any messages about Henry. Not that she could see any reason for it, but people were shitheads on the internet.
“Well, wanker is still the most common response. But many of them are wanker with a little heart at the end, so I think it’s fine. We actually got a lot of responses, proper engagement and all that,” she looks up at the ceiling, considering it for a moment before rolling her head to look back at Rebecca.
“If we weren’t trying to present the team as a badass phoenix rising from the ashes, I’d say a Ted takeover isn’t a bad idea. He just needs some supervision. Maybe a phone with a better camera.”
Rebecca is only half listening as she taps to the next story.
“Aw, they went to dueling piano night. That must have been fun for Henry.”
She’s smiling at her phone when Keeley asks, “Dueling piano night?”
“Yeah, you know at Jim Bob’s Bar.”
Keeley is looking at her blankly.
“Fine. I know it’s not really Jim Bob’s bar. It’s probably not even a bar if Henry’s there. But I can’t remember the real name off the top of my head.”
She’d looked it up once, after Ted first posted about the dueling pianos. For some reason she started calling it Jim Bob’s. Ted didn’t seem bothered and had even started calling it that himself.
When she looks up again, Keeley is staring at her, eyes narrowed.
“What are you talking about?”
“What do you mean?”
“How do you know so much about some bar in Kansas?”
That gives Rebecca pause. She isn’t sure what Keeley means by the line of questioning.
“It’s not some totally random bar. Ted posts about it whenever he goes for dueling pianos.”
If he gets to the bar early or she has a particularly late evening, Rebecca catches the story before going to bed. When she does, she always asks him to put in $5 for Wannabee by the Spice Girls. She owes him a small fortune by now, but it’s worth it to see the bar explode with cheers and jeers.
Some nights she misses the story, but he puts money in anyways and she wakes up to a shaky video of, Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want.
Rebecca thinks this is a good enough explanation, but Keeley is still staring at her.
“I’ve literally no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Keeley, you know social media is not my thing. All I know is that sometimes Ted posts about this bar on his tiny friends list thing,” she waves her hand around, trying her best to describe it. “The one with the green ring around it.”
Keeley leaps to her feet, eyes wide.
“Am I not on Ted’s Close Friends list??”
Before Rebecca can say a word, Keeley is halfway out the door, texting furiously.
“Roy, better not be on there, if I’m not on there. Ted knows how I feel about being left out!” she shouts over her shoulder. “Sorry Rebecca, I need to do some investigating, asap.”
Oof. She may have just created a problem. It’s probably best to give Ted a heads up before Keeley gets through interrogating Roy.
She drafts a text once, twice, then deletes it and presses call instead.
“Hey Boss, let me guess. Keeley got a hold of you?”
It’s been a while since they’ve chatted, what with the time difference. It’s bizarre how familiar his American accent has become.
“She just left my office, yes.”
There’s a loud crack in the background and a metal clang.
“Where are you?”
“Oh, just the batting cages with Henry,” he says, cheering loudly. “Hey, do you guys have a sport called baseball that has nothing to do with American baseball? You know, like football and football?”
She chuckles, “I don’t believe we do. However there is always cricket.”
He hums, considering it.
“Now Ted, I think there’s something you should know.”
“Lay it on me Boss. I know I caused a headache this morning, what’s the damage? What do you need me to do? I am at your disposal or I’ll lay really, really low as long as you need me to.”
“It’s not that Ted. It’s Keeley.”
“Keeley?”
“Yes, she’s on a bit of a mission at the moment. It seems you left her off your Close Friends list? I think that’s right. On Instagram?”
“Huh. How did that come up?”
“I was telling her about Jim Bob’s. Apparently she had never heard of it and realized you had a whole social media life she was unaware of.”
“Right . . .”
“So do what you will with that.”
“You haven’t talked to anyone else about this yet, have you?”
Rebecca is confused by this new direction.
“No. Why? Ted, is something wrong?”
It takes a long moment for Ted to respond.
“What can I say, I’m just really bad at this social media stuff.”
It's a non-response and an overly folksy one at that. But Rebecca can’t be fooled by the aw shucks routine—not anymore. She tries again.
“Ted. Who is on your close friends list?”
“Uh. Not a lot of people.”
“That doesn’t answer the question.”
“What can I say?” He huffs, a little frustrated. She would feel bad for prying, but she can't help herself. “The list of people I want to share silly life things with is small.”
“How small?” she wonders.
“Very small.”
The line goes silent and Rebecca swears she lost him. But then she hears him take a deep breath.
“It’s you. You’re the list.”
Rebecca feels flush. That’s not where she was expecting this conversation to go.
“I know that might be a lot. You don’t have to say anything. I just, that’s the honest truth and I’d like to get ahead of it before Keeley harangues the entire team.”
It’s a lot to take in, but it makes sense. Sometimes when she’s watching his posts, she wonders about his audience. Who else cares about his biscuit recipe improvements or Broadway Sundays (a recent development that’s turned into a shared movie night.)
“Rebecca?”
She realizes she’s been quiet for a while. The moment feels tenuous and she worries about saying the wrong thing, sending him running faster than Keeley during a social media snafu.
Finally she settles on, “You know, you’re welcome to text me silly life things. It wouldn’t be a bother.”
She brushes invisible crumbs from her desk, listening carefully to his breathing on the other end of the line.
“Yeah?”
“Yes. Maybe I can send some, too?”
Rebecca can hear his smile from across the Atlantic.
“Well, alright then.”
****
That night, Ted’s phone pings and he rolls over to see a text message from Rebecca. It’s a picture of the sun rising over her garden wall.
Something silly to start the day.
But it doesn’t feel silly. Not at all.

I smell a story with the ruined trip
I could have sworn I spoke about it on here before... Then again, I do have more followers since then.
Basically it was going to be my second time at Anime Expo. I had been doing everything in my power to convince my mother that I was responsible enough to go on that long of a trip that I was mostly in charge of (she was and still is on the overprotective side). My former acquaintance (I thought she was a friend, turns out... No) was excited to go to and she insisted that she had all her travel plans together and that her parents were going to be able to drive us to the place I had found for us to stay in LA during the trip.
Everything was fine.
... Things did not stay fine, though.
However... My acquaintance’s father, around this time, had been diagnosed with cancer and had had some of it removed as well as going through chemo. With this in mind, I asked my friend ‘Do you still want to go on this trip? I can understand if you want to stay home with your parents and your mind may be on what your father is going through.’
My acquaintance insisted ‘yeah, it’s fine!’ and her mother even insisted that it would be good for her to go on the trip to get her mind off of things.
However, it also came up that my acquaintance had had to refund her pass to have some money in the house. But, seeing that she was going through a tough time, I mentioned to her and her mother that maybe I could help out with buying her another pass. My mom gave me hell for this, but I wanted to be a good friend during a trying time.
So the day of the drive to LA arrives. My mother had also helped me to get a cooler so we could take food and not have to use what little money I had on food. And my acquaintance even said she and her mother would take care of food since they had a Costco membership and stuff (to kind of offset me buying the pass for her). I show up to my acquaintance’s house, get everything settled...
Brief note: I’m allergic to pork (non-avoidable) and I don’t like peanut butter in ice cream (not a health-issue but just an annoyance).
My acquaintance had bought a bunch of food with pork in it and had bought ice cream with peanut butter in it.
I was... annoyed, especially since now I had to worry about food on an already tight budget, but my friend was going through something major so I didn’t want to make a thing of it.
So we drive out to LA, arriving at high noon... on Day 0. Now, surely the internet has been filled with growing accounts of the misery that is Day 0 at Anime Expo. So, seeing how hot it is, I try to say ‘let’s go drop things off at my Uncle-in-Law’s house -- where we were staying. Also, ‘Uncle-in-Law’; his brother in Nigeria married one of my aunts and was such a miserable bastard that no one really cared when he got poisoned and died. Moving on --
But my acquaintance insisted that we should go get our badges right then and there and that her parents could find somewhere to stay while we were in line.
But, again, this was Day 0 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles. Summer in Los Angeles, hell, in any part of Southern California is HELL. And my acquaintance’s father was going through cancer. But her mom agreed, just to appease her daughter, and we went through the 3-hour long line until we got our badges and called her parents to get us and take us to my Uncle-in-Law’s. Her father was noticeably not doing alright after sitting for hours in the SoCal heat, but my acquaintance and her mother were insisting that everything was fine.
So we unpacked everything, said goodbye to her parents, and we got settled. Around 9 or 10 (I said we should head to bed earlier so my Uncle-in-Law could drive us to the convention center to get a good spot in line, in addition to having time to get our cosplay ready), my friend gets a call from her mother and then she, in a panic, relays to me that ‘oh, when her father got home he was feeling really winded and weak; and she’s so worried; and she’s not sure if she’s going to be able to sleep’
I was getting uneasy too (though I was thinking ‘this is why you shouldn’t have forced your parents to stay out in the heat for God knows how long), but I did offer: ‘Do you need us to go home? Maybe I could ask my Uncle-in-Law to drive us back tonight since he won’t be available after tomorrow morning’
But she said no... All while constantly stressing out and worrying back and forth about ‘maybe I should go home/no, I want to stay/I should go home/no, I want to have fun’. So that went on all night and then the next morning arrived. We got dressed, were driven to the convention center... And my friend continued on with her back-and-forth worry/ecstatic/worry. Now I was getting annoyed because I had given her an opportunity for us to go home when we had the opportunity to but now we were pretty much stuck and she was starting to cry about how now she wanted to go home to be with her parents. Not to mention the whole ‘I bought two four-day passes and we’re barely only going to be able to stay for one day’, but that was aside from the point.
... But then she doubles back to her ‘I want to have fun’ state and even insists that we split up since our interests in anime were splintering at that point. So I had gone and actually found some Hetalia fans and cosplayers (I was cosplaying as Russia that year), made con-friends with a chick cosplaying as Cuba, saw a journalist who was bewildered at all the flags and historical uniforms and Soviet Russia cosplayers chanting ‘Soviet Takeover!’
However, after a few hours I had to hunt her down because something had me worried and, lo’ and behold, she had found two of our mutual friends who had decided to swing by the expo and was bemoaning about wanting to go home. So I was getting frustrated but I had to start making calls. Luckily, another one of our friend-of-a-friend’s was in the area and he had a truck and he said he could take us back home in a few hours from then. So, again, more frustration at our trip being cut short but at least I could get her home to her parents. So the final activity I was able to squeeze in was a panel on the history of Prussia being handled by an actual history professor who was so happy that something like Hetalia had come along to get people interested in one of his favorite historical nations to talk about. Even my Cuba-cosplayer friend happened to be in there and had saved me a seat. The panel was really entertaining, really informative... Kind of soured when my acquaintance and two of our mutual friends peeked in and one of them jeered ‘what the fuck, I thought this was supposed to be about anime?!’
So, the panel ended, we swung by the artist alley for a bit so she could get a picture with Vic Mignogna and then we had to go to a Subway to meet up with the mutual friend who was going to give us a ride.
We had to pay him, too. That was great. So after begging my Uncle-in-Law to come back from his trip early, we got our stuff and drove back home. We dropped my acquaintance off first so she could check in on her father and when I was helping her get her stuff to her door, her mom opened the door and I asked ‘how’s Mr. Acquaintance’s Dad doing? She was really worried about him?’
... And her mom just piped up and said ‘Oh, he’s fine. He went to Home Depot a few minutes ago to pick up some tools and stuff. He’ll be back in a bit. Wait, did you drive all the way back here? Why didn’t you just call?’
Tumblr media
So. Yeah. That was my last trip to AX: a clusterfuck of unneeded anxiety and wasted money and a bunch of ‘I told you not to go on this trip with that girl’ from my mother.
But, it needs to be said and acknowledged, that I gave my acquaintance SO! MANY! OUTS! But, nope! She just decided to stress me out instead on top of everything else!
So, yes, that was the story of my ruined trip.

Overview
Features New to the Series!
Life on the Island: Nook Inc. confidently recommends a trip to a remote deserted island. And that’s not just because it’s the only company that offers this type of package! On the island, life is as peaceful and relaxing as it gets. Since the island is deserted, you can create your new life from the very beginning – just like a pioneer! Time flows as naturally as in the real world, including seasons and day and night cycles that mirror real time.
DIY: By collecting specific materials around the island, you can craft a wide variety of things, including tools and furniture. DIY workshops teach you how to enrich your life by crafting DIY recipes. As you become more familiar with DIY, you can even learn special skills like changing the color of your DIY furniture or decorating them with custom designs.
NookPhone: Nook Inc. will provide some basic necessities and services, including your very own NookPhone. It has standard apps, like a camera and map, but over time, new applications will be added to support your island needs. The camera can be used to take in-game photos all over the island – you can even add fancy filters like all the cool kids are doing!
Nook Miles: For players looking for more concrete goals, and to help offer guidance and inspiration on the island, you can take advantage of the Nook Mileage program. As you fulfill certain challenges and experiences, you will earn miles to pay off the cost of the getaway package or, eventually, to exchange for in-game rewards. Rewards range from in-game Nook Inc. merchandise and helpful items that can enrich your time on the island, to tickets that you can use to visit distant islands.
Island Tours: These “mystery island tours” are at the whim of the pilot, so you never know where you will end up! Once on these smaller islands, feel free to gather as many items as you want – like DIY materials and creatures – and take them back with you to your island.
Party Play: With the Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway package, up to eight people can live on one island.* In Party Play, you can call up to three other players to explore the island at the same time. Whoever calls the others will be the Leader, making the others the Followers. It’s easy to change out the Leader, letting others quickly take charge. Any creatures or items found by Followers will be stored in a recycle box at the Resident Services building!
Land Development: While you can cross rivers on your island by pole-vaulting and climb elevated land using ladders, you can also change the landscape by adding bridges and slopes. Once your island is fully decked out, you’ll receive a permit to freely pave your own paths, as well as perform major construction like changing the paths of rivers or building and demolishing cliffs. With your own maintenance and construction permits, you can flex your creative muscles on the land itself, not just the stuff on it.
NookLink: Yes, Tom Nook likes to put his name on everything. But when it’s a Nook product or service, you know you are getting something that’s high quality. With NookLink, which is part of the Nintendo Switch Online app, you can scan a Custom Design QR Code pattern from previous games Animal Crossing: New Leaf or Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer with your real-life smartphone and then download them to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. When connected online, you can talk with friends who also have the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game with the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app using your smartphone as a keyboard or for voice chat. NookLink will launch in March, soon after the selected departure included in your Deserted Island Getaway Package.
A Detailed Breakdown of the Getaway Package Experience!
Choose Your Island: Before boarding your flight to the island, you will choose the island from a range of options. Choosing to live in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, for example, will affect the timing of the seasons, so select the location that suits you best. When the seasons change on the island, so do the activities. For Northern Hemisphere residents, spring will just be starting when the game launches on March 20, so expect blooming cherry blossoms to show up soon!
Orientation: After landing on the island, you will receive a helpful orientation session from the Nook Inc. staff. At this time, you’ll be provided with the tent that’s included with your getaway package. You can chat with other island residents about where you want to set up your new home, and help them choose their home locations as well.
Resident Services: The Resident Services facility is available to support your daily needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They provide you with services such as the sale of everyday goods, the purchase of unwanted items and helpful advice.
Become a Home Owner: The tent provided to you by Nook Inc. is great, but have you considered a house? Home loans have no deadlines, interest or assessment, and you can pay your loan back at your own pace. A house offers much more space than a tent and also includes storage space for any extra furniture and baggage. Once you own a home, you can channel your inner interior designer, setting up the walls, flooring and furniture however you like. You can also use extension and remodeling services to expand and customize your home even more.
Customization Deluxe: Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers more customization options than ever before, from personalizing the look of your character all the way down to skin tone, hairstyle and clothing, to placing buildings and items wherever you want on the island. You can even decorate the inside and outside of your home! Turn that island into a MY land!
Airport: This is the first place you will land on the island. (It is an airport, after all.) It’s also available to use 24 hours a day, beginning on the day after your arrival. At the airport, you can invite residents of other islands to your own island via the internet or local wireless. You can also travel and visit other islands yourself! Up to eight people can play on a given island at one time**, so feel free to get a good group together and make some fantastic memories.
Island-wide Broadcasts: At the start of each day, Mr. Nook, CEO of Nook Inc., will make a broadcast to all residents, updating them with the latest on important island events and advice about how to best enjoy island living.
Features and Updates to Further Your Island Enjoyment!
New Residents: When you first land on the island you will only have a few animal residents living there with you. But as you develop your island from the ground up, more neighbors will visit and choose to move in. You can even invite some of the new residents to live there yourself! There’s nothing better than a welcoming neighbor.
Free Updates: Free updates will be added after the game launches, with seasonal events continually added throughout the year. The first free update will be on launch day, March 20. By installing this update, you can celebrate Bunny Day with a special event in April. If you own both Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp for mobile devices and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll receive special items in each game. Details will be announced at a later date on the official Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Twitter account.
Additional Facilities: As you grow your island, more facilities will be built. This includes a museum showcasing the rich ecosystem of the island, a shop full of ready-made furniture and goods you can’t craft yourself, a tailor offering clothing and fashion items, and a campsite where you can invite guests for recreational purposes.
Tourists & Events: Your island will not only be home to new residents, but also tourists as well! These temporary visitors are always welcome and can offer up items that cannot be crafted on the island. Visitors can also participate in fun events like Fishing Tourneys and Bug-Offs, which will pop up throughout the year. Through free updates to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, new special events and seasonal guests will be introduced.
amiibo Support: Animal Crossing: New Horizons supports amiibo figures and amiibo cards from the Animal Crossing series. You can also invite these familiar faces to Photopia, an island that exists in the game, where you can place models in creative photo shoots.
Twitter Takeover: Keep an eye out for social media savvy Tom Nook, who is rumored to take over the @AnimalCrossing Twitter account right after today’s video presentation.

================================================
Three attempts to kill me happened today that I know of and can tell you about, and more attempt to kill me today that I cannot tell you about due to unspeakable litigation.
The latest attempt happened a few minutes ago and resulted in at least on terror soldier’s nitrous oxide poison gas tank to ignite and that one launched in a southerly direction, best guess is that the terror soldiers launched to the very back parts of 520 Jackpine.
Someone went to do an evac of that terror soldier, I am bound by the courts not to say more about that part of the terrorism.
The murder attempts are accompanied by these pop-up windows. The county courts terror cell uses pop-ups like these to try to convince US national security persons that the mark (me) was watching pornography, and that is somehow used for framing someone of murder, or rape, or “Sodomy” is the preferred terminology used by the county courts terror cell for describing what most people say is a “rape charge”, the local terror cells call it “Sodomy” and they pronounce it like “Soda-Me”, so, if you are doing audio surveillance please make a note of that pronunciation, as the term is used very often, and is a component  one of the most popular terror attack scenarios.

======================
My foot is turning blue.
There is nothing I can do to get medical treatment.
All of the doctors in Oregon were killed years ago, some of them were taken captive and are forced to provide medical treatment for the terror army.
US Citizens are killed at the hospitals and medical clinics.
Despite many years of trying to reach US national security personnel, I have never been able to make contact with US national security personnel.
I keep trying, and as I do, the terror soldiers hurt me more and more, with more dangerous weapons, more lethal poisons, and more terror soldiers involved.
I tried to get my mail from the mailbox three times today, each time there was someone summoned, ready, and was waiting nearby for a chance to run me over in the road as I check my mail, so, I was not able to get that far today to the road to check my mail, there are too many terror soldiers around my home, these terror soldiers are more directly associated to the Josephine County Courts than I have seen before, today’s attack is as if the judge himself came to kill me.
Tumblr media
There are no US Citizens who work at the Josephine County Courts, all of the people there are Canadian terror special operatives, some of them are Screen Actor Guild actors, are treasonous, and are there for special assignment at the courthouse. The same is true across the entire state of Oregon. All of the courts were hijacked and are controlled and occupied by he Canadian SDA terror army, and they get their marching orders and training from Screen Actor Guild.
Same condition as the US national guard bases. All of the bases are hijacked, controlled, occupied by Canadian terror army, and Screen Actor Guild special actors play role of commanding officers, while Canadians are wearing the US Guard uniforms. They have access to all of the equipment at the bases, and, they are able to get new equipment, supplies and munitions through normal and customary channels of procurement.
Please send help.
When they kill me, they will delete this account, and then no one will know how the terror is done.
Please send US Military to Josephine county Oregon.
Please send medical help to Josephine county Oregon.

A very loud sound was heard a little while ago, about 7:00 pm. I went outside to see what is going on, and I heard what sounded like a train, a helicopter, and a jet all at the same time coming from Russel Road area, and proceeding in a south direction. The sound was not from the air, was at ground level.
Two of Monroe’s cats were in my yard, that means there was a Monroe outside of my house at that time. They bring the cat when they hide in my yard, so I will see the cat and not be concerned about someone hiding in my truck bed.
That sound was so loud and different that for a moment I thought maybe the US military had come, and were doing a fly over.
That’s not what it was.
I overheard that the sound was that of the train that travels on the railroad tracks that are parallel with Russell Road, and are about less than two thousand feet away from where I am. The train was releasing poison gas, and was ignited, and the train went south toward Merlin Oregon on the tracks while lit, poison gas burning in at least one of the train cars. I heard that from a terror soldier who was hiding somewhere nearby and shouted “the train lit!”. I heard other similar discussion being said at the Monroe terror cell.
I came back inside after that, I don’t know what kinds of poison gas the train may have been releasing, but since it lit up and went south, nitrous oxide is most likely part of the mixture. I could hear the jet sound as far as about where Opal Lane crosses Russell Road and beyond that, then walked to where the Offensive Trailer at Monroe’s is near my driveway, and overheard more about the train had ignited.
There could be evidence at Blue Star Gas, in Merlin. That place is along the train tracks and uses rail cars to ship the gasses they claim to sell at Blue Star Gas.
I have no way to verify if a locomotive carrying explosive poison gas ignited on the tracks or not, but I did hear a sound that was as if a helicopter, a jet airplane and a locomotive were all the same sound, and it was very, very loud.
The train on Russell almost never rolls at this time of day. That train is normally heard at about 12:30 am, and again sometimes at about 4:30 to 6:30 am, only.
It was not US Military as I was wishing for, it was a terror train filled with poison gas parked nearby on the train tracks, is the information I have.
(Twitter can be traced to see the marching orders for that train full of gas to be deployed, one part to such terror marching orders is a story about the Milton Bradley Game called Monopoly, and news about a change in the “Community Chest Cards” in future versions of the game. Monopoly is often used for terror marching orders, and there are railroad considerations in the game and the cards for it.)

8:52 pm:
This part of this entry, like the whole account here, is specifically for US national security personnel to consider:
That information shown there where it says “StoneMan posted this” is part of the attack with the locomotive filled with and releasing poison gas in the neighborhood and parked nearby about 2000 feet away from my property. There was a person who made a “Like” for this entry, I blocked that person. The idea is that if the terror assassin is successful and does indeed kill me, then, somehow that “Like” and the part where it says “StoneMan Posted This” works in favor of the terror army who would have killed me. There are a few other places on this account where the same kind of thing happened, someone made a “Like” on a post that is about mass murder and terror takeover of USA, but not many of those “Roll Reversal Like” comments (That is how I see it, a roll reversal attempt, I don‘t know how they make it say “StoneMan Posted This” unless someone paid off Tumblr representatives to make that happen).
I always block the people who do that.
The way I see it, if someone makes a “Like”, or does a “Follow” somewhere on my account here, and if that person does not ask some questions, like “How can I help you?”, then, I block those people. Over time of existence of this account there has been a dozen or so “Like’s” and “Follows”, not many, and no one has ever offered any assistance.
no one has ever asked me any questions about why I write what I write.
So, I do the Block.
Interesting fact is that there has been three attempts to make contact with this account with a “Like” or Follow” since the time I asked Joe Biden for help to stop the mass murders and takeover of USA when I wrote to him at WhiteHouse.gov contact page. That is extremely revealing about who the terrorists are.
Please help.
This Tumblr account is the only way I can get a message out of Oregon, all of the phones and internet means of reaching public safety are hijacked, don‘t work, and only assassins come in response to cries for help, as happened today from my letter to the President, assassins brought a locomotive filled with poison gas, and a bunch of terror special operative assassins, some of them are at Monroe terror cell right now, at 434 Jackpine Drive, Grants Pass Oregon 97526.
That thing below where it says “StoneMan Posted This” is part of the hit attempt, and could be traceable, please help.
Tumblr media
This is where the “Like” came from, the one I blocked. “Unforgettable-Sensations” is poking fun at my leg condition and is one of the terror bastards who arranged that I would be injected with some kind of horrible chemicals. there is no doubt about it with a name like that and a like on this entry today.

9:45 pm:
This is a good place to go ahead and mention that at least two terror soldiers where killed last night and I did not have anything to do with their deaths, other than I lit my Bic Lighter while I was trying to check my mail but was unable to get to the road where the mailbox is at because there are too many terror soldiers trying to kill me all of the time. One terror soldier was hiding in a tunnel that goes beneath my driveway, is a culvert for the creek, that one ignited, launched to the other side of my yard, bounced off the fence at 520 Jackpine, I think was wearing a bright blue coat. The other one was run over in the roadway at the mailboxes on Jackpine by their own terror assassin accomplices who were driving the Sparacino’s brown cross-over style car, a brand new one, and that person was squished under the car, rolled into a ball, and wound up in front of the Clyde Baum terror cell at 333 Jackpine. I could hear the sound of the persons bones breaking and saw the car looked as if it was driving over speed bumps all the way from the mailboxes to Clydes, while screaming “Stop the car!”.
They finally stopped out front of Clyde Baum’s terror cell.
I suspect there was at least one other who also was killed last night but I have no other information, just some screaming sounds that I heard separate of those other two dead terror soldiers that Joe Biden sent to kill me.

Nintendo shared various new information on Animal Crossing: New Horizons during a dedicated Nintendo Direct broadcast today, which introduces viewers to island life, the basics of home ownership, neighbors, land development, exploration, crafting, and more.
Here is all the information covered in the Nintendo Direct, via Nintendo:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is due out for Switch on March 20.

On a modest stage inside a tent in downtown Los Angeles, the four members of the South Korean girl group Blackpink assume a diamond formation and aim their fingers like guns at the audience as they launch into the chorus of their breakout hit, “Ddu-du Ddu-du”: “Wait till I do what I ... Hit you with that ddu-du ddu-du du!”
It’s the afternoon before the Grammys at Universal Music Group chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge’s annual showcase, where he presents the company’s prospective superstars to a crowd of record executives and industry types. (Past performers have included Ariana Grande, Halsey and Shawn Mendes.) With their intense choreography, dance-heavy beats and Clueless-esque high-fashion looks, the four women offer the kind of bells-and-whistles pop production that makes them an anomaly not just on today’s lineup, where rappers like 2 Chainz and Lil Baby abound, but also on the charts, where women like Grande serve up their divadom with an extra dose of realness.
The showcase marks Blackpink’s first stateside performance, though the band made history long before: “Ddu-du Ddu-du” became the highest-charting single by a Korean girl group on the Billboard Hot 100 when it peaked at No. 55 last June, and this April the act will be the first Korean girl group to play Coachella, before embarking on a North American arena tour. “Ddu-du Ddu-du,” sung mostly in Korean, is a boastful warning to those who underestimate Blackpink, with a hook (meant to imitate the sound of bullets flying) that’s also a canny invitation to non-Korean listeners -- anyone can sing the words. The buttoned-up UMG crowd seems a little unsure, but also intrigued: Just as Blackpink’s Jennie -- soft-spoken in person, but onstage a fierce singer and rapper -- slides into a rat-tat-tat flow in the second verse, more and more audience members whip out their phones to capture video.
There’s no longer any question that K-pop is happening in America. BTS, the seven-member South Korean boy band, scored two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 in 2018 and became the first K-pop group to sell out an American stadium when it played New York’s Citi Field in October. Yet despite the group’s visibility here, K-pop remains somewhat detached from the mainstream: It receives relatively little top 40 airplay despite fan-army pressure on radio stations, its artists rarely tour with non-K-pop acts, and outside of its intensely passionate fan groups, K-pop stars hardly drive the wider “conversation” that someone like Grande can dominate with a single tweet.
Blackpink represents Korean music’s latest, greatest hope at breaking out of the American K-pop box. The group believes its multinational identity gives it global appeal: Sweet-voiced Jisoo, 24, is a South Korean native; buoyant rapper Lisa, 21, is from Thailand; guitar-playing Rosé, 22, grew up in Australia; and Jennie, 23, was born in South Korea but spent some formative years in New Zealand. “You don’t have to understand Korean to understand the music, the visuals, the vibe,” says Jisoo, through a translator. (Rosé and Jennie are fluent in English; Lisa alternates between English and Korean during our interview.) “We’ve got so much Korean culture and so much Western culture in us,” adds Rosé, her Australian accent still pronounced.
And though occasional English lyrics already pepper their tracks, Jennie notes that recording all-English songs is something they “definitely want to do” in the future. (They’re focused on making their debut album first.) Even their sound -- an omnivorous fusion of fist-pumping EDM and booming hip-hop beats with flashes of house, ’80s pop and harmonica-driven folk -- seems conceived for the widest possible audience. “I was immediately drawn to their fierce and empowering energy,” says Dua Lipa, who asked the group to guest on last year’s bilingual banger “Kiss and Make Up.” “They are not just giving you hit songs -- they are sending a message that resonates beyond the lyrics.”
Last fall, Blackpink signed to Interscope Records, which will serve as both a creative and business partner to YG Entertainment, the group’s Korean home and one of South Korea’s three main music companies along with SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. These companies serve as label, management firm and production studio, controlling almost every aspect of their artists’ careers. Interscope chairman/CEO John Janick says that YG’s leadership -- Hyunsuk “YG” Yang, its founder, and Teddy Park, Blackpink’s main producer and creative director -- “runs the show,” but the relationship is collaborative: Sam Riback, Interscope’s pop-rock A&R head, has made multiple trips to YG’s Seoul headquarters and “has been sending them lots of different ideas,” according to Janick. “Our goal,” he says, “is to amplify what YG has been doing globally.”
If Interscope can help turn Blackpink into a truly global superstar act, the partnership could become a model for other labels looking to invest in K-pop and even pave the way for joint imprints. “This deal could be a benchmark,” says YG’s Joojong “JJ” Joe, who heads the company’s U.S. operations from a small house near Los Angeles’ Echo Park. It will also confirm Interscope’s foresight about K-pop. In 2011, the label signed the group Girls’ Generation during one of the earlier waves of K-pop imports, when artists like BoA and Wonder Girls worked with Western producers and companies.
At the time, those artists barely made a dent on the mainstream charts, and their backers took a hit: Despite high-profile promotional appearances, Girls’ Generation’sThe Boys LP sold only 1,000 copies in the United States during its first week in 2012, according to Nielsen Music. Since then, however, streaming platforms have made it easier for fans to discover and support Korean music, while the growth of social media has also allowed them to forge deep connections with artists everywhere. “In this era, people find their music and their talented artists on the internet,” says Susan Rosenbluth, senior vp at AEG Presents/Goldenvoice, who helped book Blackpink’s North American tour and notes that K-pop’s stateside audience “does not follow along ethnic lines.”
To Janick, the success of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s chart-topping Latin hit, “Despacito,” aided by a Justin Bieber remix, made English-speaking listeners more open-minded in general to music in other languages. “We’re going to have hits from all different territories -- more of them, and more often than we’ve seen in the past,” he says.
But the onus isn’t just on listeners to embrace Korean music -- it’s on industry gatekeepers too. At the UMG showcase, the reaction to Blackpink is enthusiastic, but it feels muted compared with the rousing ovation the crowd gives classic-rock revivalists Greta Van Fleet, whose 2018 debut album was notoriously panned by some critics as derivative. The response to Blackpink’s Interscope deal, however, suggests that attitude could change.
“So many artists on our roster started calling, saying, ‘I want to work with these girls.’ Radio stations were asking when new music was going to be out,” says Interscope executive vp business development Jeremy Erlich, who facilitated early conversations between the label and YG (he and Joe attended business school together). “The industry’s ready. When the music comes out, I don’t think there’s going to be many people saying, ‘This is just a fad.’”
The day before the showcase, the ladies of Blackpink are ensconced in a hotel suite high above downtown L.A. Lisa, dressed in a gray fleece and a checkered coat, spies the Hollywood sign through a corner window and bounds off a couch for a closer look. Her bandmates, cozied up in brightly colored sweatshirts and cardigans, admit they weren’t expecting Los Angeles in February to be so chilly. During some rare downtime the previous day, they went shopping in Santa Monica. “It was supposed to be for fashion,” says Jennie, “but we ended up just grabbing anything that was warm.”
This is Blackpink’s first trip to L.A., but it has been almost a decade in the making. The group’s members came to Seoul from all over the world starting in 2010 to take part in YG’s rigorous recruitment and training process. The company and its competitors hold tryouts both within and far beyond Korea (Rosé traveled to Sydney from her home in Melbourne), seeking recruits who are typically preteens or teens, ethnically Korean and fluent in the language, though these qualities are not mandatory. Lisa, who auditioned in her native Thailand in 2010, didn’t speak any Korean when she began training in Seoul in 2011.
For all four women, joining YG meant enrolling in a kind of full-time pop-star academy that Jennie calls “more strict than school” and that Rosé likens to The X Factor with dorm rooms. For 12 hours a day, seven days a week, the future members of Blackpink -- along with, by Jennie’s estimate, 10-20 other aspiring singers who cycled through the project -- studied singing, dancing and rapping, taking part in monthly tests designed to identify their strengths and weed out subpar trainees. “Somebody would come in with a piece of paper and stick it on a wall, and it would say who did best, who did worst, who’s going home,” recalls Jennie, whom YG initially steered toward rapping because she spoke fluent English. “You get a score -- A, B, C,” Lisa explains. “Lisa would always get A’s for everything,” adds Jennie with a laugh.
The process was lengthy. Before Blackpink debuted in 2016, Jennie spent six years in training, Lisa and Jisoo five and Rosé four. For the members who had left behind life outside South Korea, the pace of training on top of the culture shock was sometimes tough. “I’d call my parents crying,” recalls Rosé. “But as much as it was hard for me to cope with all of that, it made me more hungry. I remember my mom would be like, ‘If it’s so hard for you, just come back home.’ But I’d be like” -- she mimics a surly teen’s glare, much to the others’ amusement -- “‘That’s not what I’m talking about!’” Lisa credits her future bandmates with easing her transition. “Jennie would speak English to me, and Jisoo helped me out with my Korean,” she says. Rosé was the last of the bunch to enter training, but she remembers the four of them bonding during an all-night jam session when she arrived. “We just clicked,” she says.
That’s clearly still the case: Rosé sometimes puts her hand on Lisa’s knee when translating for her, and at one point Jennie and Jisoo huddle close together to silently adjust one of their necklaces, displaying the intimacy of close friends. “We don’t really have a day off,” says Lisa. (Once every two weeks, Rosé clarifies.) And because their families are so far-flung, they often spend their time off with each other anyway. “We’re stuck together,” says Rosé, laughing.
While K-pop companies have a reputation for packaging groups assembly line-style, Blackpink’s members insist they have plenty of creative input, despite having no official writing credits on their tracks. Park plays them music he’s working on and “really tries to put our thoughts into our songs,” says Jennie. “He really gets his inspirations from us.”
“It’s important as recording artists that they actually truly own their songs,” says Park. The women all make suggestions about who should sing what, and if a part doesn’t feel right to someone, he will make adjustments. “He doesn’t just bring us a song, like, ‘Go practice,’” says Rosé.
Besides, the members of Blackpink have another creative outlet: Last fall, YG announced that they would all release solo material, starting with Jennie, whose debut single, “Solo,” topped Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart in December. Though the music is still created and put out by YG, the idea that group longevity and solo success aren’t mutually exclusive is a radical development in girl-group history -- one that Janick says only “makes the brand stronger.”
Stars who come through companies like YG are called “idols” in Korea and have historically been expected to maintain a squeaky-clean image. When Blackpink debuted, Jennie says YG was very selective about its promotional appearances: “We were trained to be a little more...” “Closed in?” Rosé suggests.
“Closed in” is exactly what the outspoken women ruling the U.S. charts now, from Grande to Halsey, are not -- they make deeply personal, even raw, music. But while Blackpink may well find success catering to an audience craving its kind of TRL-era pop spectacle -- Interscope’s Erlich calls the group “the modern Spice Girls” -- lately the band has been less concerned with appearing perfect, both onstage and off. “We always wanted to be out there, to be more true to ourselves and a little more free,” says Jennie. “Even we can get things wrong sometimes. We want to just show them the real us.”
Jennie and Lisa do just that when I ask how they expect to be received as rappers in America. Lisa lets out an embarrassed groan, withdrawing into her fleece. She has loved hip-hop since childhood and is obsessed with Tyga (“I love his swag,” she says, blushing). But she and Jennie seem well aware that a group of Asian women adopting a style pioneered by black American artists might be a hard sell for some stateside listeners who are keenly attuned to debates about cultural appropriation.
“Me and Lisa don’t talk about it out loud, but I know we have this big pressure,” says Jennie, who adds that she studied artists like Lauryn Hill and TLC when she first started rapping. She looks across the room at Lisa: “She’s going to kill it.” Lisa just scrunches up her face.
That kind of vulnerability may be what ultimately endears Blackpink to an American pop audience. “The artists that are the most successful in these situations are really authentic with how they can relate to a coming-of-age experience” in their music, says Goldenvoice’s Rosenbluth. “There’s a certain amount of authenticity to Blackpink that I really love. The dedication is heartfelt.”
Back at the showcase, the band finishes its set with the reggaetón-tinged “Forever Young,” featuring an intricately choreographed, hair-flipping dance break. As the beat reaches its booming climax, the bandmembers whip toward each other and strike a statuesque pose with their hands on their hips, just in time for the music to stop. They hold still for a moment as the lights dim, then drop their arms and turn toward each other, catching their breath and grinning like four young women who can’t quite believe they’re here.

Philippines - Telephone & Internet
Guide Forums Articles
Mobile phones are used much more than fixed landline phones in the Philippines. Warm your fingers up if your plan is to move there, as Filipinos are the largest users of SMS in the world.
Mobile networks are available almost all over the Philippines. In most places only GPRS or GSM technology is available, while G3 (UTMS) networks are accessible only in the big urban areas of Manila, Cebu and Davao.
Buy a Philippine mobile number When buying a mobile number in the Philippines you can choose between prepaid and post-pay contracts. The main mobile service providers in the country are Smart, Globe, BayanTel, Sun Cellular and Red Mobile. You can get information on rates, contract types, fees and offers by visiting operator’s websites or stores. Not all mobile phones will work in the Philippines unless they are unlocked, so it is better to purchase them in the Philippines.
Prepaid mobile card is the most convenient solution if you don’t plan to make many phone calls. Extremely cheap mobile cards (or sim cards) are available all across the country. It is recommended not to buy a sim card at the airport, because there are much more expensive. With a prepaid sim card you will also need prepaid "loads", which are available for as low as PHP 10 (0.17€ or $0.23). Pay attention to the expiry date written on the back side of the load card.
A post-paid mobile account is the best option if you use your phone for work or make many calls. This kind of contract has a limited number of free minutes, text messages etc., and charges the user a flat rate for any usage above that limit. The user is billed at the end of each month.
To apply for a mobile post-paid account in the Philippines you can fill the application form in mobile phone centers. You will have to provide some documents:
Proof of identification (valid internationally-issued passport or unexpired Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR))
Proof of address (electric or other bill, bank statement, lease of contract, or notarized lessor’s certificate)
Proof of financial capacity (bank account documents, certificate of employment, latest income tax return or credit card statement of account)
Mobile phone tariffs vary from operator to operator. However, all incoming calls and SMS in the Philippines are free, regardless of where they originate. Text messages are about PHP1 each and calls are about PHP6.

Can I use my cell phone in Philippines?
Using a U.S. cell phone in the Philippines can be difficult if you have not prepared. Many U.S. cell phones simply will not work using Philippine cell networks, and those that do might carry exorbitant per-minute costs. ... If your phone is unlocked, you can use a local SIM card to ensure compatibility and lower costs
Is Philippines CDMA or GSM?
The Philippines operates on a GSM phone network, and T-Mobile and AT&T are the only U.S. carriers using the GSM network, according to CNET. Other U.S. providers use the CDMA network and may have less extensive roaming capabilities overseas than AT&T and T-Mobile
What GSM band is used in the Philippines?
Frequency bands are assigned to telecommunication companies to offer 2G, 3G, and 4G services in the country. Originally, the frequency bands used in the Philippines were: 1) GSM: 900 MHz and 1800 MHz, 2) UMTS: 2100 MHz and 850 MHz
Philippines - Major Telecommunications Operators Synopsis Despite competition from new carriers and mobile operators, PLDT has continued to be the Philippines’ dominant fixed-line and mobile provider. And as such has been a large part of the momentum in the country’s telecom market. Nevertheless, PLDT’s role has not gone unchallenged and in recent years Globe Telecom in particular has been pushing hard to overhaul the incumbent.
In the meantime, the number of telephone subscribers in the Philippines has continued on a healthy growth path. The mobile sector has been dominant, although more recently broadband subscriptions of all kinds have been playing a much bigger role. For a long time the growth in mobile services was in large part due to the popularity of SMS services as well as the relatively higher price and inaccessibility of fixed-line services. The global financial crisis had a major impact on the local economy and in turn on the local mobile market, pulling the growth rate down. Nevertheless the telecom market has continued to grow. After the GFC, the year 2010 saw the start of a positive rebound that has continued up to the present time. PLDT subsidiary Smart remains the dominant mobile player in the market; by 2011 it held a 52% share, followed by Globe Telecom with 32% and Digitel with 16%. The major market development in that year was PLDT’s acquisition of Digitel and its repercussions were being felt right through until 2015. With PLDT holding a huge 67% of the mobile market in early 2013, the acquisition had certainly proved controversial. When the regulator gave its final approval it was heavily conditional. By early 2015 PLDT’s share of the mobile market was close to 60% as some was clearly rebalancing going on. This report provides an overview of the major operators in the Philippine mobile market with some pertinent statistics.
Key developments: PLDT was continuing the process of fully integrating Digitel into its business, targeting completion in 2014; Local media company ABS-CBN Corp aiming to become ‘third player’ in the country’s telecom industry; Globe announced in 2013 the completion of the first phase of its network modernisation program, having upgraded 100% of its cell sites; NTC was proceeding with plans to auction the 3G frequency licence formerly held by CURE, seeking guidance from the Department of Finance (DoF) in early 2014; Globe Telecom was closing in on completing its takeover of Bayan; In mid-2014 NOW Telecom (formerly known as Next Mobile) revealed plans to spend US$28 million over two years to deploy mobile cell sites in metro Manila. In April 2015, San Miguel Corp announced that it was preparing to launch a mobile service by January 2016 through its subsidiary BellTel. BellTel had already concluded agreements with contractors and suppliers covering the rollout and operation of a mobile network. This would see BellTel become the Philippines’ fourth mobile operator after PLDT, Globe and ABS-CBN Mobile. BellTel had integrated 197 base stations into its mobile network and received radio licences for 191. The operator would apply for more licences as additional base stations are integrated into the network. It will launch its service as soon as sufficient BTS sites are available for a commercial launch.
Companies mentioned in this report include: PLDT, Smart Communications, Talk ‘N Text (TNT), Red Mobile (CURE), Globe Telecom, Digitel, Extelcom, Bayantel, Bell Telecom (Bell Telecom); ABS-CBN Corp; NOW Telecom (formerly Next Mobile); Liberty Telecom / Wi-tribe.

Summary: The same events as in ‘Soulful’ but from Stretch’s POV
Notes: @crysta-cub was very interested in seeing all of this from Stretch’s pov, and, yeah, I thought maybe we needed to see that. His perspective on it is very different from Edge’s, so let’s have it. This turned out longer than the original because as we all know, Stretch has a lot of words to say. Whether they all have meaning in another argument.

~~*~~
The thing was, Stretch knew he was being the asshole about all this.
He’d been really damn sick, he knew that, and Edge had issues about that shit. Fuck, who didn’t? There was no one out there thinking it was a-okay that the people they loved were hurt or sick or what the fuck ever.
So, Edge dealt with that by layering on the protectiveness which was no kind of surprise because Blue did the same damn thing. This was High HP Takeover 101, and Stretch should be able to give Edge that. In theory.
In practice, he wasn’t very damn good at it. The forewarned texts came like clockwork every two hours, and angels wept, he hadn’t moved off the sofa since the last damn text. Exactly where did Edge think he was going to go? Hop a bus to Ireland for some damn Riverdance lessons? It was difficult to keep the snark at a minimum when you had to come up with a new variation on ‘I’m fine’ every two damn hours.
Except…snark came at a guilty price when Edge looked so tired as he came home from work. There were so many things he was trying to handle right now and here Stretch was, sprinkling his bullshit issues on top of Edge’s current shit sundae. Edge was on the verge of making himself sick working so hard and trying to take care of the house, of Stretch, of everything, and the worst part was, there wasn’t much Stretch could do about it except try to keep his prickish nature at a minimum.
That left him here, trying to think of a way to make up for being an asshole without actually saying ‘sorry about the whole asshole thing’. Not that he wouldn’t, fuck no, but apologies were easy. Dime a dozen. He wanted something a little more tangible.
He couldn’t cook worth a damn so making dinner was out; seemed more like a punishment than an apology to make Edge choke down a plateful of whatever he managed in a burnt offering. A little apology sex seemed like a good idea, but Stretch could admit he wasn’t really up to a marathon yet, and a quick round of missionary wasn’t probably wasn’t going cover it, especially if he fell asleep in the middle of it.
So far, he’d managed to allow a serious amount of cuddling after dinner, letting himself fall asleep in Edge’s arms because it was useful in settling his hubby down and besides, like Stretch was going to say no to a nap. But he was still on the lookout for something better.
Like so many good things in his life, the idea came to him from the television.
He was watching ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’, because that show was the shit and Stretch had no idea why people were always down on Guy Fieri on the internet because hell, that was a guy with style.
Anyway, the episode had wandered into mac and cheese territory, a wonderland that was near and dear to Stretch, and at one point, they referred to it as soul food.
Soul food.
It clicked a little lever in his head that sent an idea down through the tangled paths of experiments, pranks, and various television theme songs, straight to his guilt center and there it hit the buzzer.
Edge had looked so damn hurt when Stretch asked him to leave the room when the nurse pulled his soul and even when Stretch had shown it to him later, that hurt had only shifted states, liquid pain to icy fear when he’d seen the IV. Not exactly the stuff of romance. There was a pretty good chance he’d be interested in a private viewing when his soul was in its natural state.
It was intimate, sure, souls were intimate as hell, but he’d also spent the past week having everyone but the janitor give his soul a looksee. A big deal, yeah, but there were levels and honestly, now that he thought about it, Stretch was a little surprised Edge hadn’t brought it up before.
He suspected it was an Underfell thing. Somehow, he doubted anyone in that little sliver of the multiverse was handing their soul over on Lover’s Day with flowers and chocolates for a little bonding time. To Edge, this was probably a much bigger deal than it was for him, but that was okay, it didn’t make it unimportant.
So, yeah, there was a plan. If Edge wanted to see his soul, hell, if he wanted to touch it, Stretch was fine with that. No one else had ever run away with screaming heebie jeebies from touching it, there were decent odds that Edge wouldn’t either. Plus, he could probably work it out so that Edge got a little more out of it than most Monsters would.
Stretch knew a little bit about souls; it had been years since any of those experiments, and yeah, cut that fucking thought off right there, but he did remember, and he knew how the focuses worked.
Souls could work on a low level of empathy; if he focused on how much he loved Edge while he was touching his soul, then Edge should be able to feel a little of it, without anything else that Stretch didn’t want him feeling bleeding through and if there was one thing he was sure he could handle, it was focusing on how much he loved Edge.
This was a great idea, Stretch was sure of it. If he worked out the odds, it was about 95% chance that it would turn out fine, less than a 5% chance of it ending horribly! Fuck it, let’s roll those dice.
Probably he should have waited until Saturday. Let Edge get in a good night’s sleep, wake him up with a few kisses, play up that shyness that Edge liked so much, and they’d be on their way. Except Stretch was shit for patience and now that he had the idea in his skull, it would rattle around like a maraca until he took care of it. So tonight it was.
About a half-hour before he was expecting Edge home, Stretch went up to their bedroom, peeling off his sweatshirt and tossing it carelessly on the floor. The hamper was literally a step and a half away, but Stretch had a thing for that little twitch Edge got in his socket when he saw clothes scattered around. It was a kink, so sue him.
The sweatshirt didn’t make a difference anyhow, it wasn’t like clothing impeded a soul, and Stretch might proudly be an idiot, but he wasn’t stupid. Edge liked how he looked, like the delicate lines of his bones, liked to run his hands over them, testing the smoothness. He was feeling better, he looked better, might as well let Edge have a treat to go along with the main event.
He hadn’t made the bed when he’d gotten up and he took a minute to smooth out the covers before scooting up to sit in the middle. Edge would be home soon, he needed to work fast, and Stretch took a deep breath and gingerly pulled out his soul. He hadn’t looked at it since they left the hospital and it would be better to take a quick peek. Edge probably wouldn’t handle any surprises very well.
It came easily, hovering over his outstretched hands. Silvery pale, a sign that he didn’t have any LV, and the mark where the IV had been was gone entirely. Good enough.
He heard the front door open and hastily dismissed it back, checking himself over. Jeans and a tank top, check, soul lookin’ good, check, ready for takeoff.
“come upstairs,” Stretch called, and he could hear the shuffling downstairs pause, clothing rustling, probably taking off his coat, and then feet on the stairs, coming up fast, well, someone was eager.
Edge filled the doorway when he stepped in, his eye lights a little bright and focusing in on him like a laser. “Hello.”
Oh, fuck. Stretch couldn’t help shivering, that husky growl, shit, maybe apology sex was a great idea…no, no, down boy, remember the plan, eyes on the prize and other various encouraging shit.
Instead, he gestured Edge in, patting the bed across from him. Edge was a little confused but willing enough, and he waited patiently for Stretch to spill the beans.
Stretch felt a flush rise in his cheeks, okay, yeah, so this was pretty intimate, far more than sex could ever be and of all the Monsters who’d ever seen his soul, ever laid impersonal, clinical hands on it, Edge was the very first Stretch actually wanted to touch it.
This was supposed to be for Edge, but Stretch was finding that he wanted this, too.
“i’m feeling a lot better,” Stretch said, little hesitantly, ““and i thought maybe you’d want to see my soul when it isn’t wired in like frankenstein.”
Want might not be a strong enough word. Edge’s eye lights flared wide; apparently, this was something he’d been yearning after for a while and never mentioned, yeah, this was gonna be a big deal to him, and that was okay.
Of course, Edge tried to give him an out, no surprise there, geez, it wasn’t like Stretch was the one who’d brought it up to begin with. And it wasn’t much of a surprise that Edge wanted to be the one to pull it, no, no, control issues, go on ahead.
Stretch didn’t mind. He trusted Edge with a hell of a lot more than his soul.
The sensation of someone else getting a grip on your soul was usually foreign and maybe a little unpleasant, at least in Stretch’s experience, and while it didn’t hurt, it was weirdly uncomfortable. Usually.
The delicate tendrils of magic that lassoed his essence and coaxed it forth were like nothing Stretch had experienced before and he closed his sockets, exhaling shakily as it slipped free and settled lightly into Edge’s hand.
Oh. That felt…oh…
Okay, he’d had other Monsters handle his soul before but none of them had ever resonated like this. Maybe…maybe it was because of who they were, he and Edge, the flipside of the same coin, he needed to talk to sans and red but not now, now he had to focus on edge, he loved him, loved him so, so much, edge was his brilliant sunshine through darkness, his safety from himself as much as from the world, and he wanted to show him that love, wanted him to feel it…
A little hazily, Stretch opened his sockets and could only stare in shock.
Edge was crying.
He hadn’t even known Edge could cry, he’d never done it, not once since Stretch had known him. Stretch was a little bit of a damn crybaby himself, not that he cared, own it, bitches, but Edge—
Tears were trailing from his closed sockets, not crimson, not a match to his magic the way Stretch’s were, but silvery and pale, a mirror of his soul.
That…Stretch had never seen anything like that before.
Um, yeah, maybe it was time to stop.
Edge didn’t protest but he was still obviously pretty damn reluctant to hand Stretch’s soul back so quickly. His tears stopped the moment Stretch’s soul faded back into his sternum, leaving streaks of wetness on his cheekbones.
Carefully, Stretch reached up and ineffectively wiped away one thin, silvery trail. “that was supposed to make you happy.”
Edge’s voice with thick, warm, as he murmured, “It did.”
The tears weren’t exactly convincing him, but Stretch decided to take him at his word. He gave up trying to wipe them away, bone wasn’t exactly great as a sponge and, unthinkingly, he let his hand drift down, resting his fingertips over Edge’s sternum and wishing fleetingly that he could touch, just for a second…
He could feel Edge stiffen, rejecting it wordlessly.  Ah, shit, Stretch hadn’t meant to put that idea into his head, he knew better than that.
“Do you…do you want…” Edge forced out, because of course he would. Of course he would offer, even though he wasn’t ready for that by any means. Even though it would upset him, maybe even traumatize him to force his soul out for no better reason than he felt like he owed it.  Of course he fucking would.
Stretch couldn’t think of anything he wanted less than to hold an unwilling soul, even one that loved him.
Turning him down didn’t take things down a notch as hoped and almost sent Edge into a fucking panic attack, and shit, shit, this was not how this was supposed to go. This was supposed to help, not make things fucking worse, and what kind of asshole did Edge think he was, that he’d demand a soul fondle in return when Edge was so unready for it?
Exhaustion worked for him for once, and Stretch was able to soothe him down, gently, set Edge at ease, and fuck, they should probably talk about this later. Probably.
Probably weren’t gonna though, because he already knew what Edge was afraid of, what he was so terrified Stretch would see.
And Stretch wasn’t about tell him that he already knew exactly what Edge’s soul looked like. Didn’t want to tell him he’d seen it the first time they’d met, swollen blood-red with LV, patchy veins of darkness scattered over it. He’d been in a bad damn way when they’d first arrive, but so fucking what? Stretch had been too; from the first step out of the portal, his own soul had been so faded it was a wonder he hadn’t already fallen down.
Red had seen all that from the beginning and so had Sans. They’d all known the stakes, for what little it was worth. It was over and done with, though, no point in talking about it now. And Stretch didn’t look anymore at anyone, not often, didn’t judge, none of them did that Stretch knew of. Souls showed something of a person, yeah, but they didn’t show everything and it was pointless to form a judgment on one aspect of a person when there was so much more left unseen.
But it didn’t mean that he didn’t know Edge’s soul was so much lighter since then. LV never left, but it could fade, it could lighten, those dark patches vanishing. His soul would always be red. It didn’t mean it couldn’t be beautiful.
Edge was so far from ready to hear any of that.
Holding his soul must’ve been pretty damn draining because Edge was all but asleep in minutes. Resisting it, sure, because his love wasn’t very good at giving in, but eh, a little petting, a little singing, and he was out like a light.
Even in his sleep, Edge’s grip on him was tight, both arms around his pelvis and Edge’s skull was resting in his lap, his sockets closed and that weariness seeping away. It left him looking a little softer, a little warmer.
Beautiful, Edge had called him, so beautiful, and Stretch had to believe him. He’d been holding his soul, there wasn’t much denial Stretch could offer.
Very lightly, Stretch traced the crack that ran through Edge’s socket, the unevenness of it rough against his fingertip. Edge was beautiful, too, in so many ways, and maybe Edge wasn’t ready to hear that yet, not yet, but it didn’t mean Stretch couldn’t see it.
