#get out with your 'jack and maddie wont love danny as a ghost'

I am going to regret asking this and giving you another chance to drag me in this fandom... but what's the problem with Danny's parents? Is there something else than the fact they really really want to dissect a ghost?

For me, the issues with the Fenton parents boils down to two main issues: 1. their complete and dangerous obsession with ghosts and destroying them and 2. the negligence to their children. I think Jack and Maddie are good people who love their children and can be good parents. But the problem is their ghost hunting work was always the priority in the family which Jazz and Danny clearly suffer from.

Point 1. The Ghost Obsession

I don’t know what happened to Jack and Maddie that caused them to develop an all consuming obsession with ghosts and, moreover, the need to destroy them. Fandom has pointed out that while they claim to be scientists, they clearly are more interested in weapons to hurt and destroy ghosts than anything even resembling normal scientific study. Amity Park has a high number of violent ghosts (mostly there to play fight Danny) but most ghosts everywhere else are just vibing. The ghost obsession hurt Danny long before he became part ghost (but I’ll save that for Point Two) but it went from an annoyance to an actual threat to his life.

First off, as many others have pointed out, having a dangerous lab in the basement with untested equipment/weaponry that your kids not only have ready access to BUT also have to go down there for assigned chores? Not great, Jan. I’ll give the Fentons the benefit of the doubt, we see clearly that Danny/Jazz know how to work the equipment in their house so they obviously have been drilled in usage and safety. Danny gets his ghost powers by being dumb and 14 and messing around with his friends like any normal kid would. Danny is now the very thing his parents want to hunt and destroy and a mainstay of the series is he is so scared of their reaction that he hides his powers/identity from his parents but not his ghostly enemies. Can you imagine being that uncertain that your parents love for you outweighs their obsession that you hide such a fundamental part of your life? What a miserable reality for a young kid.

Jack and Maddie spend the entire series going off about their hatred of ghosts. Danny has to sit there and listen to them talk in extreme detail how they’ll dissect and obliterate any ghost they come across. They’ll be making deadly weaponry made to kill beings like him at the kitchen table, weapons that do respond to his ghostly signature. They especially hate Danny’s alter ego, Phantom, because of his supposed trickery by pretending to be a hero. The canon things said in the show would certainly make me nervous about sleeping in the room next to them. They are capable of working with Phantom when push comes to shove but it never lasts long and they go back with guns blazing. Danny and the show mostly play these threats off for laughs but the fact that Danny straight up doesn’t tell them is telling enough on how it effects him. 

Point 2. The Negligence

‘Hur Dur parents are bad’ is a well known cartoon trope but the Fentons take it to an extreme. Jack and Maddie are obsessive with their work, absentminded and reckless, none of which create a safe and stable home for children. I love Jazz and Danny but they clearly are not entirely normal children (even before the whole ghost thing) from growing up in such a home. Jazz develops a reactionary personality, delving into psychology and being right as a way to kind of understand/get back at her parents (source? I do this exact thing with my mom) and Danny was quiet, overlooked and not given the attention to really flourish, instead being a sort of ghost in that house before he ever became one. 

Jack and Maddie 110% love their kids but do they encourage them in a meaningful way? Support their interests? Be available to help? Not really. I hate The Fright Before Christmas bc Danny gets blamed for being a “scrooge” instead of acknowledging he hates the holiday for his parents destructive fighting every year. (source? Again fucking me. I hate Xmas bc mom and I scream every year)

This issue only exacerbates once Danny gets ghost powers. His whole life is affected by his ghost fighting: he’s getting injured in fights from human bullies and ghosts, his grades are dropping from lack of studying/sleep, he’s absent from the house more often than not, he’s sullen and depressed and scared and anxious all the time. It’s a radical change and yet Jack and Maddie kind of brush over it, focusing instead how Danny’s changes affect them (IE Danny not being around to do his chores). This boy comes home, beaten from fights, stressed and feeling alone only to get yelled at because his parents miss all the signs he’s practically radiating that he is Not Okay. He eventually becomes a good enough fighter and actor to skip over but it’s truly heartbreaking that he can’t confide in the people supposed to support him the most. But it’s not just the ghost obsession, even without all the powers like if Danny was doing drugs or in a gang, his parents barely notice and, when they do, they don’t really do anything other than blame him. 

Now I’m going to end this long rant by saying that I love Jack and Maddie, I think they are fascinating people and want to see them developed. The situation as it is for most of the series is not okay in the least but I do believe they have the potential to be good, supportive parents. There’s a couple of eps where they DO find out about danny’s powers and instantly all the negligence and hostility is gone, its all acceptance of his powers and apologies for their behavior. Its not a perfect situation and could be borderline abuse apologism if done wrong. But I’d like to think that once they got over the shock and did some serious priority and soul searching, they would learn to correct themselves. Growth isn’t just saved for the teen protagonists, everyone has the chance to be better. Danny clearly doesn’t hold his parents behavior against them and would be nothing but ecstatic if they loved and accepted him. I do believe in a happy, functional if abnormal, Fenton family dynamic and I’m all for it.

Can you talk more about the episode "ghosts don't need babysitters"?

ghosts dont need babysitters is basically meant to explore the concept of being accepting of someone on paper vs actually handling that in practice.

it takes place recently after danny and jazz are on the same page with the whole identity reveal thing. she knows and understands her brother is phantom, shes seen him transform to fly off into the night, and she whole heartedly accepts him for who he is and all that junk of course. and now danny knows that she knows, so hes more open with his abilities and natural state of being rather than hiding it.

but watching from afar vs actually interacting, navigating, and living with the whole ghost thing is a whole different battle jazz has to work through. ESPECIALLY when its coming from her little brother who, from her perspective, has changed extremely suddenly and randomly. as cool as it would be to just very easily roll with the punches on this kind of thing, the more realistic scenario is that you gotta have time to adjust to it. like what do you do when you wake up one day and suddenly your little brother youve known all your life is just casually floating upside-down vacuuming the ceiling. even if you like conceptually understand he can do that, its gonna be a trip seeing that for the first time lmao.

the episode premise is basically jack and maddie have to leave town for some ghost sciences exhibition for a weekend so jazz is in charge of the house and danny while they’re away. because there’s no one else in the house who doesnt know danny’s secret, he basically goes all in on metaphorically having it all hang out. hes got nothing to hide! he starts being a whole lot more ghostly and does a lot of random stuff that makes no sense to jazz out of context more openly (like doing experiments on how his newer powers work, trying to figure out or hone specific skills, sticking his head into some ghost invention for whatever reason).

its mostly a comedic thing, where we’re looking through jazz’s outside perspective lens on the whole situation, but the more serious note is that she genuinely struggles trying to be supportive of whatever weird thing danny is doing and act normal around it. but you know, its hard and jazz is putting too much pressure on herself to not make her brother feel like a freak over this very precious piece of information she was trusted with. eventually, at after the series of kinda funny/awkward interactions, danny kinda catches onto why jazz is being all weird and isnt happy about it.

he sits her down and basically tells jazz that its okay to ask him questions about the whole ghost thing, its okay to be a little weirded out and show any reaction other than positive, he wont be hurt as long as she just for the love of god talked to him about like a normal person instead of trying to pretend he’s a normal person. at this point, danny has fully come to terms that hes different both socially and literally, he doesnt need this whole song and dance jazz is doing to spare his feelings. its who he is! he knows people arent used to it, thats his normal so its okay if people need to ask questions about it to understand him.

 the episode is meant to show that you’re allowed to make mistakes when getting used to something about someone and how being overly considerate can actually be alienating more than it is allying. some people just arent normal, its okay to recognize and embrace that instead of trying to make if feel normal for that person!

in all honesty though, the heart of the episode is essentially “jazz keeps walking in on danny doing a lot of weird ghost shit and is kinda weirded out by it”. the whole deeper meaning and message is there but its still overall a light hearted laugh and jazz learning the lesson to not overthink how she should interact with her brother just cause hes different.

danny phantom 14-20 thoughts!! I finished up s1 :D these last few eps were actually really really good!!!

-did. did tucker really just say esperanto was a dead language only spoken as a secret code between geeks. google says around 100,000 people actively speak it. oh my god...it being an auxiliary language doesn't mean its 'just for geeks to speak in code' ...it helps bridge gaps between people who don't have a language in common...

-danny really isn't pulling punches when it comes to fighting the ghost-cop possessed people huh. like he SLAMMED KWAN INTO THE CONCRETE SO HARD. HE THREW PAULINA INTO A BILLBOARD. will that...I mean it WOULD carry over to their bodies non-possessed, right? like if the ghost piloting their bodies gets hurt?? itd be so upsetting to be possessed, lose time, then wake up covered in bruises (and possibly, broken bones??) real horror movie stuff im sure wont be addressed in any way

-fright knight's murder castle reminds me of the booby trapped murder castle in zexal!! another supposedly 'for kids' show with murder/trap castles! we love that. if you are a dp fan reading this, give yugioh zexal a try. its also got 13-14 year old protags and involves (alien) ghosts. the cardgame is just a vessel for the plot, which is really good. (I just want more people to watch my fav yugioh, man)

-at this point, Danny's ghost enemies are a lot like, I dunno, batman's rouge gallery is the first thing that comes to mind. they all have their own gimmick and unique designs, but most of them are easy to beat after learning the Moral Lesson. I still get excited when any of them show up again, though. 18 is another valerie episode!!!! :D skulker really said you two will get along if I have to handcuff you together <3 and the gym teacher really said, youre married now, have a flour baby! ngl, I'm not really watching this show for the shipping stuff (which I am very scared to look at the fandom for after I finish this watch through- I feel like there's probably discourse/arguing about ships...) but. I'm gonna put my opinion out there. valerie/danny > sam/danny. maybe I just really love the enemies to lovers trope. And the secret identity stuff adds Extra Flavor.

-Danny being more understanding of Valerie's situation in the end (helping her at her job, too, and trying to keep that a secret for her!!!) And seeing them work together this ep, and also her letting phantom get her out of the ghost zone...was very sweet. LOVE that. more valerie eps pls

-sam's grandma is hilarious and the most valid member of her family and I love her. thats my grandma now. and tucker covering for sam by dressing as her. thats true friendship <3 also skipping school to go to a goth circus. just bestie things! sam's parents are haters but for all the wrong reasons.

-'my family has controlled ghosts with this for generations!' WAIT. WAIT FREAKSHOW /ISNT/ A GHOST? I didn't expect that...he's just a fucked up guy controlling ghosts? anyway watching danny shoot at police cars and rob banks while mind controlled. its like, the most stereotypical 'bad' things lmao. (tbh an evil ghost circus troupe is a sick concept)

(I'm going to assume evil circus reaper danny has a lot of fan content. people love an edgy au, except this one is canon (even tho its via mind control...having the protag go evil otherwise might be hard, I guess?) but au where he stays with the troupe...that has to exist, right?)

ANYWAY. excited to start s2!! lowkey surprised by how many notes some of these posts have gotten. Remember the Ask about what "The Fairly OddParents" would be like as a Disney movie? Well, what if "Danny Phantom" was a Disney movie? Would Paulina or Dora be the traditional Disney Princess? Would Valerie or Ember be the modern go-getting Disney Princess? Would Sam openly mock all the Disney tropes? Would Cujo be the goofy animal sidekick? Would Jack and Maddie die, as Disney parents are wont to do? Would Danny and Jazz's sibling bond save the day, à la "Frozen"? And what would Youngblood do?

Hmm….. Jack and Maddie probably wouldn’t die. They’re among the most involved parents in the cartoon world, and too much would be lost if they were removed. They’d stay as they are, but there would a big overarching plot. They’re dragging Jazz and Danny out to vacation somewhere for the summer (to a ghostly location, of course) and that’s when the adventure kicks in.

I’m thinking a movie in a “contemporary sci-fi” setting. So no princesses in the overworld, but maybe Dora would be princess of the Ghost Zone, or at least a large portion of it. Dani could be a princess too, and maybe Vlad a king? Rich guy by day, king by night, with an adopted daughter he’s trying to use but is planning to kill before she can ever attempt to take his throne.

It would be hard to wrap the entire Jazz plotline into a single movie, but she’d find about Danny’s powers within the first twenty minutes and certainly help him towards the end. Presumably she’d take a damaging blow to the shoulder or legs right before Danny has to face the Big Bad (Vlad, in this case) 

And… maybe Dani and Valerie would stay behind to protect her from a hoard of encroaching Ghosts (and stall the Ghosts from reaching Danny). Too many for Danny to wipe out quickly, so he has to make a move towards Vlad before Vlad puts his scheme into action. Which of course Vlad is in the process of doing right then.

Youngblood would have been like, the opening scene enemy that Danny was fighting (he already having his powers when the movie begun, and revealing his backstory as the movie progresses). He’d have his pirate ship and made his escape and left Danny bruised and exhausted (creating conflict when he goes home and has to avoid letting his parents and Jazz find out what he was doing). 

Halfway through the movie, Danny would see Youngblood’s ship again, and threaten him to give him, Dani, and Valeria a ride through the Ghost Zone. Most likely, Youngblood would do so, but steer them into an area where he had lots of skeleton friends whom he’d then order to attack. Danny, Dani, and Val would then part ways with Youngblood here as they take off running…

Something like that, I think. We start with Sam and Tucker supporting Danny in a fight against Youngblood (who gets away with hardly a scratch like at the start of “Pirate Radio”), then being exhausted and falling asleep while doing homework, going to school, getting into a fight with Skulker, Val shows up and the two figure out each other’s identities (or more likely, Val reluctantly agrees to work with Phantom), and Skulker drops a clue that hints at Vlad’s plan. Jazz probably witnessed the battle à la “My Brother’s Keeper”.

Danny comes home and his parents want to go on vacation, Danny convinces them to go to the place that Skulker’s clue points to, (his parents are resistant at first until Jazz jumps in and supplies information about how this place is so totally haunted and Jack agrees immediately). I guess… Tucker and Sam (and Sam’s faithful puppy Cujo) come along for goth/tech/permission to join the Fentons on a family roadtrip reasons.

During their trip, Vlad sends Dani to spy on the Danny, and she decides to test him by roughing him up. This plays out like the first half of “Fenton Menace”, but with Dani instead of Youngblood. Dani does a lot of damage to Danny, but Valerie sweeps in to help, I suppose? After the two take down Dani, she does the “I’m on your side and I want to stop my dad” thing. She reveals stuff about Vlad’s plan and they agree to help her.

Dani probably lured Valerie after her deliberately, and Valerie tailed her the entire time. During the night, while the others are camping (Valerie by herself b/c she can’t tell the Fentons she showed up a few hundred miles from Amity Park), Dani leads Danny, Val, Sam, and Tucker to a suspicious location near the campsite. Jazz, who had never followed asleep because she suspected her brother was up to something (and she suspects he’s Phantom but might not have full proof yet), tags along from a distance. This turns out to be good, because Dani led the others directly into a trap. While the room fills with water/flames/etc., Dani fights Danny and Val, taunting them that they can’t stop her AND save Tucker and Sam. She’s right, so Danny and Val save Tuck and Sam while Dani escapes.

Dani runs straight into Jazz, who blasts her with some ghost weapon. This is when Jazz reveals she knows about Danny’s ghost powers and wants to help. They try questioning Dani, but she ends up escaping, and the others go back to bed.

In the morning, Jack and Maddie explore the suspicious locations they came here to see while the others follow, searching for clues. They end up finding one and somehow determine that Vlad (who would have made an appearance at the beginning of the movie as the suspicious mayor or even as someone Danny was fighting) is going to try taking over the world from some location on the opposite side of the world. The team are wondering how they’ll get there when they hear Dani’s voice and find that Youngblood has captured her and taken her prisoner (in the process, revealing that Dani is a princess and worth a lot of ransom. Or, he thinks she’s pretty. Both, maybe.)

This is when the team exhorts a ride out of Youngblood, who opens a portal to the Ghost Zone because he can totally do that. Dani is still a prisoner who refuses to navigate, and now Y.B. is upset because he just got beaten up, but he acts like he’s helping Danny because he doesn’t want the world destroyed or whatever.

As said above, Youngblood drives pretty far through the Zone before he gets his goons to chase off Danny and his crew. They leave without Dani, but Danny realizes he’s too moral for that and goes back for her. This is the last time Youngblood’s seen in the movie, unless he appears in some celebration at the end when the world is saved.

Youngblood brought them near Dora’s kingdom, so everyone rests. Dani is still tied up and very argumentative, but she can’t escape because Val has a blaster pointed at her constantly, I guess. Dora gives everyone some food… She probably has the team complete a task for her (like helping her get rid of her cruel brother, and maybe Skulker and Technus make cameos here?) before she gives them the last information they need to stop Vlad.

Oh, I know! Dora tells them that the nearest portal is in a human high school. So, the team has to get past Poindexter, and perhaps even the Lunch Lady. Oh yeah, and the Box Ghost would have shown up earlier in the movie (maybe he and Youngblood were in the opening together, fighting over supply crates at the Amity Park dock warehouse).

They’re on the opposite side of the world now, so it’s probably night again for them (not much time has passed back with their parents, who haven’t realized they’re gone). Poindexter has been pacified, but the team still has to get to Vlad. Actually, Vlad probably shows up to check on them, frees Dani, and destroys several weapons and scatters the team. He tries to use Dani to fight the team, but this goes about as well as it does in “Kindred Spirits”, and Dani does her “You are not the boss of me!” bit.

So now Dani’s on their side. Technus and Skulker are closing in, along with some other baddies from the series. Jazz has been hurt and the others stay to defend her while Danny chases after Vlad and they have their final showdown. Vlad’s plan was either about making it easier for Ghosts to leave the Zone, or sealing it off so humans weren’t coming through it anymore, depending on what society is like during this movie (Ghost Zone tourism, anyone?)

My guess would be that Vlad was trying to hold all portals open permanently (because maybe only unreliable portals existed) and Danny stops him by sealing him in the Ghost Zone. This then stops a lot of Ghost activity and leaves he and Dani as the last ghosts in the real world…

… Or so he thinks, until some baddies who weren’t inside the Zone when it sealed arrive to remind them that their work is far from done. And although the team gulps at the daunting task ahead of them, saving humans from ghosts is what they do and what they love.

They also have a really long way to get back home since they can’t shortcut through the Zone anymore but hey, that’s what flying friends are for.

-...they literally stole the infinity gauntlet from marvel and called it the reality gauntlet. is that legal. what the fuck. even with the gems in the lil slots, having different powers...they had freakshow in jail, but didnt check his pockets??! hes just still in his lil outfit??? what kind of ...oh, its in amity park. yeah, all of the adults are idiots, okay, sure.

-'freakshow!' 'in the anemic flesh!' dude take some iron pills then. also, sure, the red eyes could be contacts for his aesthetic, but the whites of his eyes are yellow! does he have jaundice?! he severely needs more...like, every kind of vitamin. We've been doing that for (2) seasons, I'd love if season 3 could be like, his parents adjusting to this and trying way harder to learn more and accept it (and the shenanigans that could come from that) and for fun, if he didn't wipe the students memories, it could be him being popular for a while, then everyone slowly realizing, oh, he's still Danny. Like. he might have ghost powers but hes Just The Same Guy instead of putting him on a pedestal (and seeing them all try and help him hide it from the giw/people who don't know!!)

-I don't know what I expected s2 to open with. but danny portal incident in more detail was not it. (also, I hate to break it to you, sam, but danny's parent's bigass ghost hunting rv def chugs more gas than those vehicles, lmao. unless it runs on ectoplasm or something...)

-WHY WAS DESIREE IN THE SEWER? HAVING TEA WITH IT DOWN THERE?? Her making the giant cow come alive is a boss move, we've almost had all of my fav animals as ghosts now <3 I also don't like how sam was expecting danny to just, haunt the place so the cars wouldn't get sold? I KNOWWW I know she's 14 (and I had a very annoying phase like this, I think I mentioned in a previous post, I GET IT) but they're HIS powers, and messing with (1) dealership will not really put a dent in sales overall because they can just move the cars to another sales lot, and it certainly wont change the industry anyway, it's more of a minor annoyance for (1) location. Also, usually people who work at car sales places work on commission, so if they dont make a sale, they don't have money to pay bills, or eat. sam baby if u wanna be an activist you need to like, actually look into these things. with as much money as her parents have, she could be doing a lot..more useful things for causes she cares about? it's frustrating to see someone with resources who doesn't know how to use them. but shes 14 so again. cannot be really upset :/

I know, he also agreed and walked into the portal. but. she made the choice to redo it SO quickly (even if it was because someone had to beat desiree) and danny, during their fight, brought up a lot of stuff sam's done in the past, meaning he was holding onto those memories and resentment was building. (I KEEP SAYING HE LOWKEY NEEDS THERAPY, BUT I THINK MOST EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW KINDA DOES) which...is a red flag? and then they didnt even GO to the party URGH I know she tried to make up for it, but it really felt like Sam fucked up and barely faced any consequences and got everything she wanted in the end. I KNOW it's a kids show obv they aren't going to go too in depth, and she undid the damage, kinda, but...I DUNNO how to articulate it but it rubbed me the wrong way.

-but on a note about desiree, her powers of wishes were STRONG ENOUGH TO ERASE NOT JUST THEIR MEMORIES, BUT DANNY'S POWERS?! fuck, if I was danny I'd be like, trying to make friends with her. I know they always have horrible side effects as most genie-granted wishes do, but...c'mon, I'd at least TRY to be like 'I wish no ghosts would hurt anyone in my town' or 'I wish vlad would lose his ghost powers forever no matter What and also forget about my mom' LIKE. SHIT DESIREE IS SO POWERFUL. rewriting reality powerful, basically!! appreciate her. respect her.

-aww, sam helping tucker pass the nurse's office so he wouldn't see because he's afraid of medical stuff? very sweet. I also don't like medical stuff, I've gotten a lot better at handling it tho. but seeing blood and needles still makes me feel lightheaded x_x

-FOLEY, BY TUCKER FOLEY. I want to make my own perfume, that's so cool. even if his first attempt isn't good, he's pretty consistently shown to have an inventor/entrepreneur streak in the show, so like. I can see him inventing or making something (or several somethings) that make him $$$ when he grows up :) proud of my creative son

-I know the 'creepy abandoned hospital on the edge of town' is a joke and the creepy hospital trope is so Worn Out, but in my town we actually DO have a hospital like that! my dad was born in it, but its not in use and hasn't been for, like, 20 years! it needs to be torn down but I think the city doesn't wanna pay the money. the inside is horrible, spray painted and broken glass and shit everywhere. but there's still like, rusty equipment and fucking DOLLS all over the place. the cops drive by it pretty frequently to make sure no one is like, breaking in. (because of water damage, some of the areas really aren't safe. also, asbestos, but people still go in anyway) but also, some of my town was used in a filming for a stephen king show. So it's lowkey spooky all over. just a fun personal tidbit :) to lead into saying, any hospital abandoned for any period of time is NOT safe to quarantine these kids in JKSAHDKF like I KNOW it's a ghost trying to do this, but NONE of these parents are even like, 'well, why dont we keep them in the regular, working hospital'....YIKES. this hospital looks pretty accurate to the one in town. grungy and spooky.

-ghost sickness via ghost bugs. horrifying concept. I actually expected it to be a new villain, not dr. spectra again! this is a very elaborate scheme. her new form rules, love the new costume. the way none of the bg kids seem to recognize her as their old school councilor. did we just forget about that completely?

-dash watching romance movies in the fucked up ghost hospital. same.

-'oh please, you're ghosts, do you have any idea what YOU smell like?' no, tucker, what DO ghosts smell like? I genuinely didn't know they would even have a smell, I actually want to know now.

-it feels like a while since we've seen jazz!! i was happy to see her again, even if she was a head in a jar for most the episode. I want another jazz-focused ep!!

-we finally see danny doing space-related stuff!! him and his friends stargazing to open ep 3 of s2. cute :) until, GHOST PIRATES!!!!! ...ghost pirate captain is a small child?? VOICED BY TAYLOR LAUTNER???

-oh, the easy listening is ember's song instrumental slowed. 'vapor drone' THEY VAPORWAVED HER!!! ember in a pirate outfit tho >>>>. and the cruise being called m.bersback JKASDHJK. ember adopting a little pirate brother is also pretty cute. concerning this teen and little kid have such bad opinions of adults, like, who hurt you?? (how did you DIE ALSO?? im always lowkey curious about that. we know desiree died at an old age, but her ghost form is young, probably mid-20s, so I wonder how that sort of thing works...its a more mental thing, isn't it?) but ghost team-ups are always cool to see, even if ember bailed after danny took her guitar. I guess she probably thinks youngblood can handle it (which, he's been owning danny this far in the ep, so...fair)

OKAY LETS GO. this feels like it should be a mid finale or straight up finale.

-...speaking of finales. why is ep 4-5 of s2 combined into a 50 minute episode? I havent even clicked play and im concerned. weird placement, like, this season JUST started and we're getting a two parter? okay...why are the episodes placed like this? why not put this at episode 10 or something, for a mid-season thing?

-valerie being direct with sam and challenging her? kinda love that, even tho I normally don't like 'catfight' type situations. because sam has been very passive aggressive about it which is annoying. valerie knows wtf she wants and wasn't even embarrassed to tell sam, but she did tell her, giving sam time to make her own move! and sam denied it and got embarrassed/mad! and sam did have a chance when danny was about to go off and fight, and she hesitated and didn't tell him. I feel like she's hesitating because they're friends and it might make it weird between the trio (poor tucker would be third-wheeling) but if u snooze u lose, u gotta GO after what u WANT girl. smh this is a No Tsundere Zone. 😤
