I was sad one night and wanted to watch something fun and colorful, so I tried Fionna and Cake and really liked it! Adopting Prismo as my surrogate blorbo he is such a pal (everyone's pal, for that matter)

I've been enjoying getting to explore some new fics, which is what this was inspired by (primarily this one), and then it went kinda off-the-rails and got experimental hahaha but that's okay, I was having fun!

seeing the copying convo rehashed when i've been saying it's uncouth is so odd but like girl finally! like yes, we all have the same game for sure. but using the same shots, editing the same way, etc. is like over the threshold lol. and it's mad rude when you're doing it when a creator is actively in the midst of making their content. running their series. (be it an lp, a machinima, etc.) and again, i feel like this only applies to creators tho fr. if you're playing your game for your own personal enjoyment then cool. but if you're like specifically curating content, develop a personal style. it makes you as a creator stand out more. stop biting 'cause you see something's hot and it's working for someone else. when all you gotta do is brainstorm a little and i'm very sure you could come up with something just as hot too.

there's this idea that to be a better writer you need to write.

and yeah, that's true. but to be a better writer is also to be a lover. an observant lover, really. you need to be able to pay attention to everyone and everything and take note of the specifics. the way nature carries on with or without human intervention; squirrels running across power lines, deer with one hoof over highway barricades. the way emotion consumes a person's entire face; wrinkles at the corner of their eyes when they smile, the way they continue to shake after a bout of laughter. your grammar can suck and your pacing can be just as bad but that can be fixed with repetition. what cannot be fixed is a lack of integrity. you cannot fake being a lover. and even those who do not think they have it in them, who find themselves on the other side of the road, can still bring their own unique stories to the table. signed, an aroace loverboy.
