i keep seeing nanowrimo discourse on my dash and like. im so confused. i thought nanowrimo was like, a thing that you did, as a personal goal, with some online tools to help you track that goal and encourage you, but now everyones like "they accept ai written works" like. did they. not do that before? does nanowrimo publish your shit somewhere or otherwise award you with anything?? has there ever actually been any sort of mechanism to sort "good writing" from "bad writing"? has there actually been a meaningful change here??????????

I'm genuinely kind of surprised that no one has (to my knowledge) written a story set in the analog horror/creepypasta universe where the main characters are more or less career "game players" yet.

There are plenty of creepypastas and short stories where the MC decides to play a supernatural game in order to get something out of it provided that they win, and even a few where the MC goes back for seconds, but I have yet to come across a story where the MC makes it a point to consciously seek out these games on the regular.

I want to read/hear a story where the MC has been doing this for so long that they have an itemized list of strategies and cheat codes for each scenario that might crop up, I want the MC to be so good at what they do that their mere presence makes entities groan and roll their eyes, like it's a straight up "Devil Went Down to Georgia" situation where the entities have a gossip circle about the MC and whoever can finally make them fail will get a demonic/supernatural badge of honor for it.

How hell has this human won more than a dozen games in a row? Nobody can say.

Some of the entities running these games are starting to wonder if they're even human at all.

Me teaching other people to exploit loopholes like I do!”#The MC then proceeds to start an entire organization of horror savvy players in exchange for some extra reward revenue.#Bonus points if the MC uses a false name (Death Note style) so that the entities can't swindle them into contracts.

I'm worried about not having money to get the pet supplies we need tomorrow, even though matt will have the money and will get them if I ask. I hate shit like this. especially since mom kicked the beehive.

#I'm waiting for arin to move money to the joint account which she said she should when she gets paid #but I don't know when she gets paid #and until then I have to leave enough money for her bill that charges in a couple days #which is all that's left #and I need to buy craft supplies for kirblog patreon rewards #which is going to spend half of what I have left of allowance #since I bought yakuza for matt last weekend #I've got plenty of room on the credit card but he gets upset if I use it and I'd really like to pay it off before blowing things up with mom #and I've got cash from the books he sells but I wanted to save that for shipping christmas presents.#ugh. whatever.#she's working on the letters for the va #and we'll get all that paperwork submitted in the next month or so #I should pester her about those too.#and then maybe in another couple years I'll actually have my own income of substance.

im so bummed out ;-; i wanted to get one of the plushies that they were giving out as part of the mtn dew x ffxiv promo if you get enough points, and i started entering my codes and they were all already sold out!! not that i had enough to get them yet anyway, you need the codes from like 40 bottles of soda bc theyre 4k points so i figured i would just do it slowly over the course of the promo since i thought it went on until like, january or something. all i really wanted was to choose between the plushies so now im like, "man i have all this mountain dew." bc theres three bottles in my house rn.

#i felt so bad not playing tears of themis anymore #but like honestly i just felt like the gacha system is the worst out of all the other games #i was like doing 100 pulls and not getting anything #it was so bad #and they gave you SOO little rewards it’s actually crazy #like with hsr and genshin even within one banner they give you enough rewards to continually pull #but when i was playing i could barely scrap together ONE (1) pull #like i felt like there was absolutely no returns despite playing EVERYDAY #unless i cashed #i’m sorry but i don’t like this game THAT much to be cashing #and i was completely all the event doing my dailies and weeklies and i barely got anything in return #and there’s still 50/50 and fuck knows how much pity #so bad actually i don’t even know if it’s worth starting to play again
