What I also need and want to say about the collapse of the German government is that yes, Christian Lindner is right, that we'll face uncertainty, but at least it is an uncertainty, where a corrupt and bought out politician is no longer head of the financial department.
It doesn't look great here, but isn't the end of the world as far as I am concerned. Our government had to be stung and battered by his party so long that their judgement was always impaired by dragging a party along that was unwilling in putting the decision in. I'm not happy about German politics by any means and I dread what we might have to face soon, but right now, let me say I am jolly fucking good, that I do not have to see his effing face again in the political climate here, because honest to effing god, they will not make the 5% limit to re-enter the parliament next time.
And that is their own bloody fault.

I can't stop being angry at this fucking government. We were responsible for the largest genocide in history and we have an education system that makes sure we know it in all its horrors. To make sure we won't repeat the mistakes of our grandfathers.
And now we as a country see what's happening in Gaza and support Israel.
What the fuck?
Calls for a free Palestine are conflated with being antisemitic. There is a real antisemitism problem in this country that's been growing rapidly. Wanting to stop the murder of innocent civilians isn't it.
I'm not being homophobic when I call Alice Weidel a fucking clown. I'm not being antisemitic when I criticize the fact Israel is commiting warcrimes.
I'm not an expert on this conflict and I'll never pretend I am. The only thing I know is that the side that's killing innocent civilians, killing children, by the thousands, isn't the one on the right side of history.

The news: War, election results, re-voting the government, more war, cutting back on protection for rainforests
News Guy: Also, people from National Geographic found a 300 year old coral by the Salomon Isles. It's longer than a blue whale, the largest coral in the world and in good condition :)

There’s so much to criticize the german government the isr*el dickriding but also handling of the russo ukrainian war and I’m not talking about the early weeks of the war I’m talking about promising Russian and Ukrainian deserters and conscientious objectors to be save here just to even think about sending back or not accepting them
Like 2022 the most emigrated were Ukrainians, and in 2023, Russian Federation was on 7th place on the list of nations where people emigrated to germany(is that how to word it)
And if I would talk about the government handling of Gaza this would get really long

I absolutely hate living in Germany right now, never have I seen so much hypocrisy. I was sitting at my workstation at my internship and one of my colleagues turns on the radio and the only thing I hear are the news where the radiohost talks about how Israel will not stop until all of Hamas is destroyed and the hostages are freed. No mention of the atrocities that are being committed to get to their supposed goal. No word on the active genocide that is being committed because no matter what happens the German government will stand with Israel because of the guilt that they feel regarding the holocaust. They will stand by watching a genocide happen in real time cuz they still feel "guilty" about one that happened 100 years ago and are using it as an excuse.

German president to decide on dissolution of parliament on Dec. 27
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier intends to decide on the dissolution of the country’s parliament on December 27, a spokeswoman for the head of state’s office Cerstin Gammelin said on her page on the social network X on Friday.
Gammelin said Steinmeier had held talks with the chairmen of parliamentary factions over the past few days and had become convinced that there was no prospect of creating a stable majority for the German government.
“I intend to decide on December 27, 2024 to dissolve the Bundestag in accordance with Article 68 of the Basic Law,” Gammelin quoted Steinmeier as saying.
On December 16, the German parliament voted to pass a vote of no confidence in Scholz’s cabinet.
According to the law, Steinmeier must dissolve parliament, based on the chancellor’s proposal, within 21 days. New elections must be held within 60 days of the dissolution, and Steinmeier has previously reportedly endorsed holding elections on February 23, 2025.
The political chaos in Germany began immediately after Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election. Tension between partners in Germany’s “traffic light” coalition had been building for months until it erupted into open conflict when the country’s budget for 2025 was being discussed.
Finance Minister Christian Lindner was dismissed from his post and accused the chancellor of “betraying his trust” and “putting the interests of his party above the interests of the country.” In response, Lindner blamed Scholz for “leading Germany into a phase of uncertainty.”

German Government’s Bitcoin Sale Misses Out on $1.1 Billion Gains
Following the German government’s decision to sell approximately 50,000 Bitcoin at $54,000 per coin, recent market dynamics have shown the potential financial impact of holding versus selling digital assets. With Bitcoin now trading at around $87,161, Germany’s early liquidation led to $1.1 billion in missed profits. The strategic decision, initially seen as a prudent way to mitigate risks, now…

the americans going "i need to leave to europe" and especially the smug europeans saying "america needs to fix its racist, climate change denier voters" are operating on an advanced model of cognitive dissonance. sir starmer's landslide labour country was gripped by race riots a few months ago and handed out five years to climate protesters. nearly every far right party in europe is first or second with youth voters for both genders: RN secured about a third of both 18-24 and 25-34 age groups; young men across the continent said they would vote trump by massive margins. tusk barely beat back orban 2.0 in poland, and his immediate reaction was to double down on fortress europe—something all other parties are doing. EU politicians are so averse to public investment that this fear blew up the german government yesterday.
there is nowhere to run, there is no country "safe" from the global far right wave
