Unpopular opinion but someone getting piss drunk because they're depressed is not more acceptable than someone who cvts themselves. I would even say that getting drunk is worse because there are countless cases of innocent people and children dying at the hands of alcoholics. People who were taken out of this world against their wishes, and that is so gross and awful. Meanwhile, the other person takes their depression out on themselves. They do not involve anyone unless they find it absolutely necessary and they do not do so with the intention to hurt anyone. Don't get me wrong, there are people out there who do it to manipulate others, but it is definitely not as common and that's not what I'm talking about here. I am in no way encouraging either of these coping mechanisms because they are both unhealthy for you to do, but I AM saying they are similar but different. Just some more thoughts I had today. I was actually having a whole pinterest spiral about this the other day, but it was during my self imposed tumblr ban, so I had to suffer alone, but I can yap today, and let me use this ask to do so

Call me delusional, I don't care, but you can kind of see the difference here in this picture with how they're holding their hands, especially with the veins and fingers

I'm telling you Charles' hand is bigger than Max's, I swear, I think Max just has longer fingers and it throws you off a bit

But Max just has these delicate, pretty little hands and I don't think this fandom talks about that enough, because it's not very top Max coded of him, and there aren't enough of us modern thinkers out there, but I'm here and I can and will talk about Max's pretty hands, and you will listen!!

Look at his long, thin fingers and the tendons on the back of his hands looking so thin, and somehow his knuckles are just so ridiculously dainty

He just has hands made for shiny things, and he never wears any rings or bracelets, he's always just walking around with them criminally naked like this

But now look at Charles' hands, perpetually bedazzled as they should be of course, but oh my GOD

Because no just look at his palms are so much broader and he's got very noticeably thicker fingers that Max I'm telling you LOOK

It's just asdfghjkl, the forearms, the wrists, the watches, the bracelets, the VEINS

And I feel like we never get a good picture of them doing the handclap, but this one from Monza is so good.

Like look at how Max's hand is just swallowed by Charles'!!!

Like okay, call me ridiculous and delusional, and maybe these specific pictures are a bit research biased, but I don't care, this kind of delusion is an essential practice in fandom shipping to me

But idk, there's just something about how every part of Charles is just a little bit smaller than Max except his hands, (unless we talk about shoulders, but that's a whole different spiral)

He's just one centimetre shorter, he's just a tiny bit leaner, no matter how ripped he gets, I think Max's biceps will always be just a bit bigger than Charles', but his HANDS.

And there's also just something about how Charles never gets his fists out for anything, but in the mad max era especially, but kind of now even, Max is always two seconds away from throwing a punch even if he has hands that just aren't made for that kind of thing

I don't know, in that last picture especially, it looks like Charles' hand just swallows Max's whole

Korra gets so shitted on but she's one of my favorite comfort characters because she literally became disabled and they didn't try to hide it by being "oh she's still so strong cuz she's the avatar" or the "lets think about the positive side". They showed how depression hit her and how she alienated herself for 3YEARS, how frustrated she was to feel strong again, the shame she carried, and even how angry she got when others couldn't help her. People compare it so much to Avatar the last Airbender but completely disregard how other people found comfort in her story not to mention the lgbtq community and her progression with figuring things out with Asami. She went through a lot, it was not going to be a perfect story and she was never going to be a perfect person, and she could never be Aang. And that's okay.

TBH my ‘vision’ of Maglor is more of a music nerd than any kind of drama queen fanon makes him out to be sometimes.

Like someone who just doesn’t see the political ramifications other people saw in his songs, when it really was just a good metaphor. Someone with messy hair and pulls it back without even brushing it before going to a royal festival. The geeky, melancholic version of Finrod in his own family. A Maglor so obsessed with music and words he thinks about the sheer art of the Oath’s words rather than the context within itself or what it entails. Someone who wasn’t aware of how the Noldolantë could have been taken the wrong way and didn’t even finish it before he vanished from history (or, who knows, he probably forgot to bring the lyrics written with him when the Gap burned), probably had a meltdown when he realized that he had lost it. Someone who loves music so much that, after all is finished, he fades while singing, because it was all he had left.

Someone who once had a joyful, innocent spirit which was brutally killed after he did.

I just realized that Shanklin didn't just come from lil' Stanley's kid brain. It represents Stan's ideas and creativity and passion that he still keeps as he grows up.

The things Stan makes for the Mystery Shack are all like Shanklin. Lil gags and ideas smashed together into a pun of sorts. It's how he puts concepts together, he thinks outside the box and brings together separate concepts in an inordinary but weirdly sensible ways.

When he was younger he was just a lot more reckless about it, but Shanklin was the first of a kind and I find that very very neat.

Spencer Reid rant/headcanons

I feel like Spencer Reid would have this phase around s5 where he just has so much anger and stress that built up over the years but no where to put it and that leads to him thinking he wants to become a (hard) Dom and he'd try it a few times and quickly realize that's not what he needed if anything it made him feel worse.

He'd feel dumb about what he really wanted in a partner even if he knew he wasn't in the wrong and he wasn't being dumb yet everyone around him and everyone made him feel like he'd never find someone who would love him gently.

After a few years he'd accept that he just wants someone to care about him and take care of him because they want to not because they need to.

.....and with that I don't think late season Spencer is a Dom😇 he's still a soft cutie he's just older and time hurts

Whenever I see a panel with Hellboy hugging someone or with his arm around someone, I feel genuine envy because I'm convinced that his hugs feel like being surrounded by the most comfortable weighted blanket and like you're in the safest place in the world

I mean, look at this. A hug like this would fix me, actually.

Idk, he just seems like a very comforting presence, and that shows in the way he constantly seeks to reassure his friends with small gestures like a hand on the shoulder or a touch on the arm (he does this a lot with Kate and it's adorable).
