Tighnari redesign!! 🦊

My main inspiration came from this really cool thread on twt! As always, feedback and notes on the design are very very appreciated! Especially if i did something wrong lol.

Here’s my Nahida redesign and here is my Nilou redesign

Once again, another sumeru redesign. I was surprised to learn that Tighnari is 25 years old and that was he a fennec fox. I hope I made him look 25 in the redesign and more fox like.

This is one of the few redesigns where I did concept art. I sketch three different outfits to figure out the look to start with for Tighnari's outfit. Like Dori, I made him dark skin. I wanted to give him a henna, but with the final look, it made it difficult, so I decided not to add it.

I didn't change his physical features much, other than the skin tone, and made his hair completely green because I struggled with the green black ombre.

For the outfit, I went for more brighter colors, and since he's a ranger, he's got brown boots and gloves to give off a gardner vibe and there is a brown bag made from plants with healing tonics incase he ate something poisonous.

Compared to Dori and Dehya, whose redesigns lean to more Middle Eastern vibes, I leaned for a look based on the clothing style from India and Hindu fashion. Honestly, the fun part with redesigning characters, genshin impact especially, is you get to research and explore the cultures that the outfit or any feature originates from.

SO This is Venti Barbatos and Dwalin. In my imagination, they are hovering over Mondstadt together. Venti levitates in the air next to the dragon in the clouds, plays the heavenly lyre, blessing all the inhabitants of Mondstadt. His wings are huge, he is a real deity among the heavens

sketchy headcanon tighnari design! tried to make the colors more "organised" as the original does not quite feel complete to me, as random colors are just thrown around the design (in my opinion)

file cleaning: Tighnari redesign. notes below the cut

from top to bottom:

tilted ears to resemble fennec fox more

red on nose bridge and cheeks to expand his heat sensitivity to general sun sensitivity. i feel like he would get sunburn a lot regardless of his attempts to avoid it

merged the shoulder accessories into one pin

i saw several analysis of his outfit when the sumeru characters leaked call his wrap a dupatta, but if that's what they were going for it's definitely a bit of a weird way to wear it. so i changed the shape to make it more recognizable and merged it with the green scarf thingy hanging off his shoulder, which also made the color palette more cohesive

changed the gray in the braids

made both sleeves loose

gave him archery arm protector to resemble the removed tight sleeve

also gave him archery gloves

added claws

changed the double layer pants to single layer striped pants [seriously, for a character that gets hot easily, they just kept giving him layers]

boots are mostly just color changes

i didn't want to change him too much; there were just some things that kept bothering me about his outfit. there is a non-zero chance there are some details that got left out, not because i dislike them, but because genshin characters just have a lot going on and i forgot
