I read a lot, it's an addiction. - The Lost Plot by @genevievecogman1 ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ My story begins in 2019, when trying to decide what books to take on my first international vacation, a coworker gifted me three new books (because obviously). One was The Invisible Library, book one in a series. I read it and really enjoyed it. For whatever reason, I put off the rest of the series. Flash forward to now, I'm almost done with book eight in the series, The Untold Story. My reading has outpaced my buying for this one, so I'm reading a digital library copy. DUDE. DUDE! DUDE!! THIS SERIES!! The kind of beautiful overall storyline that keeps you coming back, but doesn't leave you hanging at the end of the book. Our heroine, Irene, who loves books and is as clever and devious as Celeana/Aelin. A Dragon prince who is loyal, handsome, strong, and willing to admit the woman knows more. Chaos fueled Fae, Order controlling Dragons. A multiverse. I mean, seriously!! Já chega ser um tanto chato toda resenha repetir o quanto amo sua inteligência, sensatez e raciocínio rápido. Nesse volume, ela cai de paraquedas no meio de uma competição entre dragões e a bibliotecária tem que articular planos para resolver a situação ⠀ 📚A história se passa em uma Nova York dos anos 20. Nas descrições rápidas da autora, somos ambientados em todo o glamour e colorido da cidade na época, assim como Irene. Acho bem legal a autora não ficar presa somente a um pano de fundo na série ⠀ 📚Aqui Genevieve se aprofunda mais na política dos dragões. A Biblioteca é tida como neutra de interferir em qualquer situação, seja envolvendo dragões ou feéricos, mas um jogo de conspiração e chantagem faz com essa fama da instituição seja maculada ⠀ 📚Gostei muito desse foco nos dragões. Sabemos que eles são ligados a mundos onde a ordem e a lógica prevalece. Assim como qualquer corte e reino, temos essas picuinhas, questões políticas de como proceder e não proceder no território de outro e por aí vai... Desde o início da série, vemos como Irene teme o que sua associação com Kai pode gerar para a neutralidade d'A Biblioteca e aqui vemos um pouco dessas consequências ⠀ 📚Irene e Kai são aqueles tipos de personagens que se continuar somente na amizade, irá nos agradar bastante. O relacionamento deles é bastante desenvolvido na lealdade, confiança e no conhecimento que um sempre estará ali pelo outro, para o que der e vier. ⠀ 📚A essa altura da série, sabemos que ambos são atraídos um pelo outro. Por Irene estar em uma posição de superior a Kai (visto que ele foi designado como aprendiz dela), ela não cede, porém em nenhum momento ela se deixa entrar em negação em relação ao que sente por Kai ⠀ 📚Essa questão do romance sempre foi trabalhada em segundo plano. Une bibliothèque qui voyage à travers différents mondes parallèles afin de récupérer des ouvrages uniques, et tout en étant caché à la vue de tous. Ça donne tellement envie ! 😍 Et c’est l’histoire de ce roman. _________________________________ Cela faisait des années que je voulais lire ce roman. 🤩 Mais comme pour beaucoup de livres que j'ai envie de lire, d’autres sortent et je les lis d’abord. Que voulez-vous j’ai le niveau d’attention d’un chiot. 🐶 Du coup, j’ai enfin acheté et lu ce roman qui parle de bibliothécaires espions et c’était vraiment cool ! 😍 ________________________________ On se retrouve dans un monde victorien limite steampunk avec une dose de fantasy grâce à la présence de créatures magiques. La personnage principal est totalement badass, tout en restant vulnérable. Elle est vraiment bien écrite. Au début le fait qu’elle soit mise en duo avec un gars premièrement décrit comme Bad boy qui n’en fait qu’à sa tête, j’ai eu peur. Mais leur relation est bien développée au fil des pages, et même si quelques moments de début de relation sentimentale sont écrit, ce n’est pas du tout le focus de leurs interactions. Ce sont des bribes qui ont un potentiel de développement plus tard. ________________________________ J’ai juste été triste de ne pas avoir été transporté par cette lecture. Je m’attendais à beaucoup plus, même si j’ai passé un bon moment. Et sinon j’ai trouvé la toute fin un peu pétard mouillé. J’ai été déçue par la décision de l'autrice. Et malgré le fait qu’il y ai d’autres tomes à cette série, je ne pense pas les lire. Another recent haul ⠀⠀ Went shopping again and brought myself two books this time. The Masked City, finally reading the sequel to The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman, really enjoyed book one so I don’t know why it took me so long to buy the sequel. Dreamwalker is a book about Dragons enough said.
