karim flam | masterlist | prologue
genesis
cw/notes: mdni/nsfw, this one is just suggestive, talk of sex, language, religion, they're literally in a confessional so, sacrilegious acts/talk, butchered script of a confessional oops, concept of sin/what's "good and evil" through the lens of religion, this fic is pushing my limits as a writer and I'm kind of here for it, written in karim's pov
-> opening hymn. . .angel of small death
Tumblr media
"Látom."
Said in unison, but he swallowed hard upon hearing the voice on the opposite side of the curtain.
“Bless me, for I have sinned. . ."
That voice, fuck, he knew that voice.
Sinful and razor sharp, making his breath hitch in his throat from a mere sentence. A voice that brought wicked thoughts and depraved actions into their confessions; everything rotten and debauched within every thread of reconciliation. A familiarity within the cadence and tone, he felt his heart sink right down to his stomach. A feeling that festered, long since over due to bubbling over, that he pushed down even harder; shoving down any prior thought he had with a force that could kill - to maim.
“It's been a month since my last confession. These are my sins. . .”
Everything about this was wrong.
He had an ever growing feeling that the woman on the other side of the curtain knew that. Divulging lustful coated sins within a saccharine breath, erotic details that had no such business within a holy place. Acutely aware of the smirk that hung on her lips with every sin confessed - he heard it. He could feel it. Hitting him right in the stomach and bringing him crashing down with every syllable that left her upturned lips. Every righteous thought hammered into the very fiber of his soul screamed at him that this was wrong; this was evil.
". . .I seem to have an issue with lust of the flesh. . ."
He should stop this.
He grabbed at the thick black fabric of his pants, just above the knee, in hopes to center himself and pull himself back. To not let his thoughts wander again - to not sin again. But he listened all too attentively, hanging on every single word, every so called confession, that left her lips.
He didn't want to stop this.
". . .you're the same priest as last time, aren't you?"
Interrupting her own confession, interrupting every thought he had of remaining calm and collected. Interrupting the bashing of memorized scriptures in his mind, as he repeated them over and over and over as she spoke.
"Yes." A nearly breathless reply. Furthering him to clasp the black fabric tighter, white knuckling the seams with sweat slicked hands, and clench his jaw.
He heard a hum.
"Good."
He wanted to wretch, the amusement in a single word made him nauseous. He didn't know a word to have such a dreadful effect; an effect that made him grit his teeth from the desire filled tone that swallowed the word whole. Screwing his eyes shut as to not further himself astray. Sin filled thoughts already creeping into his mind that he took with an iron grip and forced to the deepest parts of his mind; he prayed they would never surface again.
He was a righteous man, a holy man, one of which shouldn't dare entertain even the mere idea of such wicked actions. But the moral sin of desire was a treacherous one to fall to; falling to his knees in attrition - such false repentance - as the stain of lust was his only folly.
"Now make a good act of contrition." Uttered through gritted teeth and closed eyes, following a script within the caverns of his mind. He heard another hum and felt his resolve start to crumble at his feet.
"I firmly intend, with Sol's help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin."
No you won't, is what he wished to say. He instead took a deep breath and held it, pausing a moment as he wracked his brain of another prayer. The only salvation in the moment being she would leave soon, to leave him a mess of a man - but righteous nonetheless.
"Aren't you going to pray for me? Tell me my sins are forgiven?"
Dammit.
"I absolve you from your sins," spoken in a single breath. Forced through his teeth, knowing forgiveness meant nothing to the woman beyond the curtain - she didn't care. "Látom." Cleansing heinous actions, disgraceful words, and his own mind within a single word.
"Látom."
"Go in peace."
"I have every intention to. Thanks be to Sol."
He felt his breath return to him once he heard her leave; nearly out of breath as he filled his lungs with air. Putting his head in his hands and letting put a groan.
"God forgive me for thinking such things."

The Devil's greatest tool is distraction. Satan seduces you with distractions that feed your flesh and lead you away from God.
Satans distractions can come in multiple forms. The devil can give you "blessings" such as money, a relationship, etc. that God has not given you because you are not ready and these things can distract you from the Lord.
For Proverbs 20:21 says, "An inheritance claimed too soon will not be blessed at the end."
Satan can also feed into your vices such as alcohol, sex, gossip, immodesty, etc. and you may say "oh well it is not a sin because I do not feel convicted." But the reason you do not feel convicted is because you cannot hear the Lord's voice above feeding the desires of your flesh. An example of this for me was when I practiced witchcraft and told myself "oh it's not a sin because God isn't convicting me." I did not feel convicted because I was serving Satan and not the Lord as a lukewarm Christian. Now when I say "oh I do not feel convicted" because of my relationship with Christ I immediately feel conviction.
Satan can also distract you with realtionships. Bad company corrupts good character and you can become distracted by hanging out with people who do not further your relationship with the Lord. Especially in romantic relationships the most important thing is that you both put the Lord first above each other.
Proverbs 12:26 "The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leaves them astray."
Proverbs 12:30 "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."
1 John 1:6 "If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth."
Lastly the Devil tells you lies. In the garden he told Eve to eat the fruit so that she would become like God. However Eve was already like God as the Lord made us in his image. Genesis 1:27. The Devil will promise to give you things you already have in the Lord. And he will tell you lies easily debunked in the Bible.
If you're ever wondering whether you are hearing from the devil or God if it is untrue, contradicts the Lord's word, and distracts you from your relationship with Jesus, it is from Satan and our own sin NOT THE LORD.
I pray that everyone who reads this comes out of their sin, wanting to have a relationship with God above everything else. Remove sin, relationships, and lies from their life Lord, and make sure that in everything they do they live a righteous life FOR YOU. For You love them so very much and I want them to experience that love instead of the destruction that comes from Satan's lies. Amen.

Cain and Able
I am my brother’s Keeper.
since our genesis, I allowed that woman to fool him into false promises
all while I was the one preventing
crimson petals of lifeblood from falling into his grasping hands,
while mine became soiled
the Shepherd protecting a wolf in sheep’s clothing
across the barren sands I failed to entertain his useless prayers
to those who seeks to lead him astray from My flock
the venom of man’s fangs poisoning him with hopeless ideals of
love and peace
…it was always going to come to this
allow yourself to return to My light, My path
it was always going to come to this.
accept Me in your heart
It was always going to come to this, brother!
hands forcefully spread for a final familial embrace
a crown of knives upon his head
My perfect resurrection,
created in My own image
only through pain and sacrifice can salvation be achieved; Mother rem taught me this well
for God so loved the world…
for Nai so loved his brother.

The misguidance of the Jews with regard to ‘aqeedah
Praise be to Allah.
Undoubtedly the mistakes that the Jews made are more serious than those which the Christians made, although both of them have erred and are kaafirs. The Qur’aan mentions a number of the ways in which the Jews went astray.
1. Among them there is a group which claims that Allaah has a son, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allaah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allaah. That is their saying with their mouths, resembling the saying of those who disbelieved aforetime. Allaah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!”
[al-Tawbah 9:30]
2.They described Allaah as having shortcomings, and they killed the Prophets and Messengers of Allaah, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The Jews say: ‘Allaah’s Hand is tied up (i.e. He does not give and spend of His Bounty).’ Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for what they uttered. Nay, both His Hands are widely outstretched. He spends (of His Bounty) as He wills”
[al-Maa’idah 5:64]
“Indeed, Allaah has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: ‘Truly, Allaah is poor and we are rich!’ We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We shall say: ‘Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire).’”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:181]
3.They distorted the word of Allaah, i.e., the Tawraat (Torah). Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“So, because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them and made their hearts grow hard. They change the words from their (right) places”
[al-Maa’idah 5:13]
“Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, “This is from Allaah,” to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby”
[al-Baqarah 2:79]
4.They deserved the curse of Allaah, because of what Allaah has said about them. Allaah says
“Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawood (David) and ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (Allaah and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds.
They used not to forbid one another from Al-Munkar (wrong, evildoing, sins, polytheism, disbelief) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do”
[al-Maa’idah 5:78-79]
The lies that they have fabricated against their Prophets are many, such as the following:
1.The Jews claimed that the Prophet of Allaah Sulayman (Solomon) was an apostate and that he worshipped idols, as mentioned in I Kings 11:5.
2.The Jews claimed that Loot (Lot) – peace be upon him – drank wine and committed incest with his two daughters, as mentioned in Genesis 19:30ff.
3.The Jews claimed that the Prophet of Allaah Ya’qoob (Jacob) committed theft, as mentioned in Genesis 31:12.
4.The Jews claim that the Prophet of Allaah Dawood (David) committed adultery, as a result of which Sulaymaan (Solomon) was born to him, as mentioned in II Samuel 11:4.
-- and so on, may Allaah curse them and put them to shame.
Allaah and His Messenger cursed them in numerous places in the Qur’aan and Sunnah because of their shameless actions. For example, Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings):
“And they say, ‘Our hearts are wrapped (i.e. do not hear or understand Allaah’s Word).’ Nay, Allaah has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is that which they believe.
And when there came to them (the Jews), a Book (this Qur’aan) from Allaah confirming what is with them [the Tawraat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], although aforetime they had invoked Allaah (for coming of Muhammad) in order to gain victory over those who disbelieved, then when there came to them that which they had recognized, they disbelieved in it. So let the Curse of Allaah be on the disbelievers”
[al-Baqarah 2:88-89]
“Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: ‘We hear your word (O Muhammad) and disobey,’ and ‘Hear and let you (O Muhammad) hear nothing.’ And Raa‘ina [in Arabic, this means‘Be careful, listen to us, and we listen to you’, whereas in Hebrew, it means ‘an insult’] with a twist of their tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islam). And if only they had said: ‘We hear and obey’, and ‘Do make us understand,’ it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allaah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not except a few.
O you who have been given the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Believe in what We have revealed (to Muhammad) confirming what is (already) with you, before We efface faces (by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth and eyes) and turn them hindwards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers. And the Commandment of Allaah is always executed.”
[al-Nisaa’ 4:46-47]
“So, because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them and made their hearts grow hard. They change the words from their (right) places and have abandoned a good part of the Message that was sent to them. And you will not cease to discover deceit in them, except a few of them”
[al-Maa’idah 5:13]
“Say (O Muhammad to the people of the Scripture): ‘Shall I inform you of something worse than that, regarding the recompense from Allaah: those (Jews) who incurred the Curse of Allaah and His Wrath, and those of whom (some) He transformed into monkeys and swines, and those who worshipped Taaghoot (false deities); such are worse in rank (on the Day of Resurrection in the Hell-fire), and far more astray from the Right Path (in the life of this world).”
[al-Maa’idah 5:60]
“The Jews say: ‘Allaah’s Hand is tied up (i.e. He does not give and spend of His Bounty).’ Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for what they uttered. Nay, both His Hands are widely outstretched. He spends (of His Bounty) as He wills. Verily, the Revelation that has come to you from your Lord (Allaah) increases in most of them (their) obstinate rebellion and disbelief. We have put enmity and hatred amongst them till the Day of Resurrection. Every time they kindled the fire of war, Allaah extinguished it; and they (ever) strive to make mischief on the earth. And Allaah does not like the Mufsidoon (mischief-makers).
[al-Maa’idah 5:64]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“May Allaah curse the Jews, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.”
“May Allaah curse the Jews: fat was forbidden for them, but they melted it down and sold it,”
These two hadeeths are both narrated in Saheeh al-Bukhaari.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) described them well when he said:
“The nation upon whom is the Divine wrath are the Jews, the people of lies, slander, betrayal, conspiracy and trickery, the killers of Prophets and consumers of ribaa (usury) and bribes. They have the most evil hearts of all nations, and the worst attitude. They are the farthest removed from (divine) Mercy and the closest to (divine) wrath. Their way is enmity and stirring up hatred. They represent the house of witchcraft, lies and trickery. They do not see anything wrong in rejecting and disbelieving in Prophets whom they did not like. With regard to a believer, they respect not the ties, either of kinship or of covenant [cf. Al-Tawbah 9:10]. They do not respect the rights of those who agree with them, or show any compassion towards them, nor do they show any justice or fairness to those who work with them. There is no safety or security for those who mix with them, and there is no sincerity towards those who use their services. The most evil of them is the one who is most intelligent, and the cleverest one among them is the one who cheats the most. The one who is good at heart – which it is unlikely to find among them – is not a Jew in any real sense. They are the most bad-tempered of people, with the gloomiest houses and the filthiest courtyards. They have very bad manners – their greeting is a curse, and meeting them is bad news. Their slogan is wrath and they are filled with hatred.”
(Hidaayat al-Hayaaraa, p. 8)
These are just a few drops from a flood of information. Whoever researches the matter will find out a great deal about their shameful actions and the forms that their kufr and deviation take. We ask Allaah to suppress them, humiliate them, put them to shame and defeat them, and to grant the Muslims victory over them sooner rather than later. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad.
And Allaah knows best.

All the Firsts + Zack and Cloud are invited to a wedding! It is mandatory! Everyone go have fun and eat Shinra sanctioned cake!
Angeal takes advantage of the free food, grumbling away at how important it is to spend most of the money on the quality of the menu. He is in a snoring food coma before things get crazy on the dance floor.
Genesis is pretty bored. He'd have preferred the bachelor party to this. Even his inner poet finds all this mushy crap pretty tedious since no one is paying attention to HIM. He coaxes a dance out of Seph, but spends most of the night complaining and getting sloshed.
Sephiroth, equally bored throughout the ceremony, perks up at the mention of cake. And may have stuffed himself along with Angeal. Genesis continuously refilling his glass and swerving him across the dance floor doesn't help matters either. He makes every attempt to take regular breaks for some fresh air, but not before a series of gloomy intrusive thoughts on whether he will ever be normal enough to actually GET married someday, much less to someone he actually chooses.
Zack is loving life and bringing down the house with his mad dance skills, grinning like an idiot and riding every high he comes across. He loves the photo booth and the wide assortment of snacks, unintentionally catching the bouquet and strutting proudly about like he just won a major award.
Cloud is nervous and tense because of all the loud noises and lights. It takes Zack to get him to come out of his shell, though he's still a bit on edge. He mostly just spends the night gloomily lounging around on the balcony, feeling out of place. There, he finds Sephiroth astray from the crowd as well, and the two engage in some very awkward, but nonetheless wholesome small talk together as kindred spirits.

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).
The word “defense,” or in some translations “answer,” is translated from the Greek word “apologia,” which means to give a logical reasoned defense of the faith. In other words, when people ask questions, we need to be prepared to be able to defend the Christian faith.
In 2 Corinthians 11:3, God, through the Apostle Paul, warns that the devil is going to use the same method on us as he did on Eve to get us to a place of not believing God’s Word: “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:3).
Tumblr media
We go back to Genesis 3:1 to find the method the devil used on Eve: “Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God actually say, “You shall not eat of any tree in the garden”?’” (Genesis 3:1).
The method the devil used was to create doubt about God’s Word, so that doubt would lead to unbelief. In the era we live in, the devil uses evolutionary beliefs such as millions of years to cause people to doubt God’s Word.
We live in a time where all around the world people are told that science supposedly shows the Bible’s account of history in Genesis is not true. It’s important that we raise up generations with answers to defend the Christian faith against such attacks on God’s Word. ~ Ken Ham

Lesson 043: Dreams
Genesis 43:26 - And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed down before him to the earth.
When we first encountered Joseph in Genesis chapter 36 we learned he was Jacob’s favorite son.  Joseph’s ten brothers resented him for this fact.  They hated even more when he told them of dreams he was having such as the one told in Genesis 37:7:
”There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.”
‭Let’s read together Genesis 28:12-15; Genesis 31:10-13; and Genesis 37:8-11.
Interestingly, Jacob had a previous experience with dreams.  He was given dreams that he knew were from God.  Jacob did not understand Joseph’s dream but he could not discount it.  He kept the matter in mind.
Many years later, Joseph’s dream finally came to pass.  Joseph’s brothers unknowingly bowed before Joseph when they came to Egypt looking to buy grain.
Let’s read together Numbers 12:6; Deuteronomy 13:1-5; Job 33:14-16; Ecclesiastes 5:7; Isaiah 8:20; Jeremiah 23:25-28; Joel 2:28; and Matthew 27:19.
How do you know if the dream you had was a product of your own mind or a vision from God?  The Bible has many instances where God spoke to people through a dream.  However, the Bible also tells of other instances where false prophets led people astray with their dreams.
If you want to know God is actually speaking to you through a dream, you need to study His word and know it for yourself.  True dreams from God will always harmonize with the teachings of the Bible.

Chapter 10: Confrontation
Two knocks at the door pulled the blond’s head up from his research.
“Heya. Can’t sleep?”
He closed the laptop as he spoke. “Hello, Cissnei. What a pleasant surprise. And yes, I’ve been having trouble resting, but I am glad to see you again. I was under the impression Doctor Hollander suspended our lessons.”
“Oh he most certainly did.” Cissnei brushed a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. “But this isn’t about that. This is about that other thing.”
Cloud squinted as he thought before closing his eyes. “The Promised Land. Of course. What do you need from me? Are you finding trouble?”
“Do you have any other details you could tell me?”
Inhuman eyes blinked in silent thought. “...I apologize, I do not. However, I am surprised. You have mako detectors. Are they incapable of locating materia?”
“Materia doesn’t give off radiation. Mako does,” She corrected simply. “That’s what mako detectors are measuring.”
Cloud looked away. “My apologies. I did not realize.”
“Do you remember anything else? A path maybe?”
He shook his head of dandelion hair. “I was only there once. I do not know any specifics beyond the Northern Crater. Perhaps monsters are taking refuge within the walls? Zack informed me of summer hibernation habits... Hm…” He glanced up as he tried to remember. “It was north of the Cetra capital, but that is no more useful than before. I doubt the paths are still intact… Have you found anything yet?”
“I can’t tell you that. Classified.”
“Ah. I understand. I apologize for my ineffective assistance.”
She gave a small nod. “It’s alright. Just give me a call if you remember anything. How’s your book coming along?”
His hand instinctively wrapped around the binding. “Well, I hope to have it completed before Sephiroth returns to duty.”
“Why is Sephiroth interested in a kid’s story?”
“Oh it’s not explicit interest. He asked me for distractions. And I believe the story itself will help him with his grief. Though I can only hope what I provide satisfies him.”
“Can you show me when it’s ready?”
Cloud’s inhuman mako blue eyes stared straight at her. “Only after Sephiroth.”
“Of course.” She stepped back into the entrance. “I’ll speak to you again when I’m off the clock, okay?”
“My door is always open.” The blond’s words were kind as he gave a subtle wave.
Cissnei returned the gesture before exiting, adjusting her tie and coat as she walked. Cloud knew more than he was saying. It was just a feeling in her gut, nothing she could prove, but the feeling rarely led her astray. Through the intentionally misleading halls of medical, she found her way to the elevators. Her phone clicked as she opened it to read her emails while waiting.
A moment later, a green light lit with an accompanying bell. The doors parted, and a red blur nearly flew out the opening. Cissnei glanced down the hallway, recognizing the Crimson Soldier. What was he doing here this time of night? Especially in such a rush?
Every instinct told the Turk to follow. Her steps were silent as she followed, waiting outside the room the soldier entered. She heard papers whip into the air, landing on softness with the occasional catch.
“How did you know?” Genesis's voice hit the air, bleeding with venom.
Papers shuffled before they flipped individually. A thoughtful, confused pause followed. “I told you already.”
“You told me that I wasn’t human. Not how you knew it.”
Another pause. Cissnei pictured Cloud tilting his head like a puppy. “I don’t understand the problem.”
“For the love of the Goddess, give me a straight answer!”
“None of SOLDIER is human. You are significantly less human than the average SOLDIER, but your specialness ends there.”
“Someone would’ve figured that out,” Genesis spat. “That's too big to hide, and how would you know that?”
“All SOLDIERs are required to see Shinra specified doctors. Is that not why you went to the plates for these results?”
“I did this to prove you wrong.”
“I have only told you the truth.”
Genesis laughed. “And why would I believe that? You’ve had a problem with me since we’ve met.”
Cloud’s tone darkened. “You have only spoken to me in his presence. I will never lie to My Prince.”
“So everything you just told me can be a lie?”
A soft sigh. “If you believe that, why did you come to me?”
“Circling back, the EXACT same question I asked you before.”
Papers slid and tapped rhythmically in organization.
“I’m finding him after this regardless of your answers.” The pages were snatched. “So be very careful with what you tell me.”
“...I can feel it.”
“Pardon?”
“I can feel your difference. Your inhumanity. The same way I can feel Sephiroth’s and everyone else’s in SOLDIER.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Cloud took a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale. “Please stay still. You are already fragile.”
Cissnei knew exactly how much that order made Genesis want to run and scream in defiance. To her surprise, he did not move. He crossed his arms and waited in silent challenge.
The blond did not make a sound, the room silent for a moment.
The soldier suddenly gasped, his leather coat creaking as he gripped and reached.
“Did you feel that?” His voice was sandy and rough, nearly pained with each word.
“What the fuck was that?”
“The connection. The inhumanity.”
“Is that how you’ve been manipulating Sephiroth?”
The Turk pictured blue eyes bulging at the accusation. She expected the blond to snap, to lose control and lash out at the redhead.
“How dare you…?” But he was weakened, offended and horrified and exhausted. “I have done nothing to My Prince but offer aid. He is pure. I have no control over him and I never wish to. Your damaged but existent connection is the only reason I can barely stimulate the true one, and I only did so to answer your question yet you still refuse to believe me...” He shifted, removing something plastic from a holder. “Get out.”
“You-”
“Get out or I will call the nurse and have you removed.”
Cissnei slipped into a sleeping patient’s room before Genesis marched through the halls, utter rage in his eyes. Before tailing him once more, she checked on the blond one last time.
Cloud sobbed, muffled and comforted only by his own hands.
* * *
The Crimson Soldier banged on the apartment door, fumes growing greater and greater with each millisecond that passed. This was the only way to get a true answer out of the clearly secretive blond. On the third smack, the door opened. He stood face to face with Sephiroth, inhuman eyes darkened but wide open, not a single hint of disorientation.
“Genesis. What’s going on? It’s zero-three-eighteen.”
The friend slipped into the apartment. “We need to talk about Cloud.”
“Can this possibly wait for a reasonable hour?”
“Don’t pretend you were asleep.”
Sephiroth sighed, closing and locking the entrance. “What is it now?”
“First? This.” Genesis shoved a stack of papers against the Silver Soldier.
Indulging the request, he opened and read them, his brows knotting in confusion. Why did Genesis have these? Why did he go to such an out of the way doctor? Why did he have these tests done in the first place? Even as the questions popped into his head, Genesis answered.
“I’ll admit, I let Cloud’s ‘tell me you’re human’ comment get to me. I figured a visit to any doctor in Midgar would prove him wrong and finally convince you that that man is completely insane.” His face hardened. “But no doctor would take me, not even for a simple blood test when my only request was a copy of the results. No one at Shinra. No one in Sector Zero. When I finally found a doctor willing to accept my conditions, She couldn’t explain the results. I gave multiple samples and she still couldn’t explain it.”
Slit eyes reread the documents.
“I went there to prove Cloud wrong, but he is right. He is one hundred percent right, and the man is hiding things from us.”
Silver bangs blocked his gaze as he turned away.
“I tried to catch him off guard, but he was awake for some goddess forsaken reason. He said none of SOLDIER is fully human and when I asked him to prove it he-” He gripped his own chest, the sweater scrunching in his fist, “he concentrated and I felt something pull my heart like a sting. Sephiroth, I swear by this: I felt it.”
“...I’m really not human…?” Sephiroth’s baritone was small, pathetic.
“Neither of us are. He said I am ‘significantly less human than the average SOLDIER’. He knows SO much more than he’s saying and he’s deliberately keeping us in the dark!”
“...he’s not…”
“Of course he is! Why do you think he always panics when we ask about his past?! He said he can’t lie to you, so he finds every other way to hide the truth!”
“He told me my mother was an alien. Of course I didn’t believe him. The only logical thing he said was her name. But this…” He held up the papers. “This proves it…”
“Sephiroth, we need to-”
“I’ll speak to him…”
“Did you not hear what I said? He pulled my heart. Literally. He’s manipulating us! He has to be!”
“You don’t know that. He-” Sephiroth paused to find the right words. “He’s never lied to me before. But I may have been foolish and allowed half truths...”
“Which is exactly why we should question him together.”
“Did he tell you anything else tonight? Did anything else happen?”
“He kicked me out.” He saw the disbelief on his friend’s face. “I’m serious.”
“What triggered it?”
“It doesn’t matter what triggered it-”
“Did you hurt him or did you ask him another question about his past?”
“I asked a question and he got all…” he gestured with his hands, “weird, about it.”
“What was the question?”
Blue eyes sharpened. “Are you digging for half truths from me? Is this really how you’re practicing?”
“If he panicked again, he will not be happy around you and he may deliberately look for half truths to defend himself from you.”
“Why is everyone against me on this!? He called me inhuman as an insult and he was completely right! He’s hiding things until they’re useful to him! A lot of them!”
“I have my own questions I need to ask him without an audience. Perhaps it’s better to go alone anyway.”
“Sephiroth-”
“I want you nearby but not in the room.”
His anger calmed just a bit.
“I’ll approach with caution. He’s never snapped when speaking to me. I want you nearby to protect me from myself. Understood?”
It was an order. Genesis knew that tone and relief bloomed. His friend treated this like the battlefield. His friend would not back down now, and Cloud wouldn’t have a choice but to obey. “Understood.”
“Good. Now please let me sleep. And can you give me a copy of those results?”
“You’re holding a copy. Keep it.”
“Meet me in Medical at zero-seven-hundred. Oh, and tell your Turk friend to leave.”
Red brows knotted. He immediately ran to the door and checked the halls, but by then, no one remained.

Samyaza - Wikipedia
Salut Leonor, Princess of Asturias,
When the rebel angels first meet upon Mount Hermon to organize their secret society of 200 members, Samyaza, as their recognized chieftain, initially doubts the initiates' resolve to forswear heaven. This they had planned to achieve through dark alliances and clandestine oaths sworn under penalty of death, thereby binding themselves to that treachery whereby they would use their heaven-acquired knowledge to create a counterfeit religion on earth to satisfy their lusts and carnal desires:[3]
And Semjâzâ, who was their leader, said unto them: "I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin." And they all answered him and said: "Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing." Then swear they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. (1 En 6:3-5)
Having thus persuaded his fellow Watchers to join him in his schemes to fornicate with women, Samyaza led his angelic brethren in their seduction of the human females for whom they yearned. The hybrid offspring born from this unnatural mating between heavenly and earthly beings were the Nephilim - a plural noun rendered as 'giants' in the King James translation of the Book of Genesis. Together, the Watchers and their demigod children dominated, exploited and at times even murdered the lesser folk who lacked their angelic pedigree. Their reign began in the days of the righteous patriarch Jared, the father of the prophet Enoch and, as time passed, their debauchery sank to ever greater depths: "And there was great impiety and much fornication, and they went astray and all their ways became corrupt" (1 En 8:1-2).

Shield Yourself from the Powers of Darkness: How to Activate God’s Protection
The thief [satan] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10 NKJV).
Jesus made it very clear in His statement recorded in John 10:10—satan is your enemy.
Jesus is your Savior. The enemy, the devil wants nothing more than to steal preservation from you. He does it by stealing, killing, and destroying. The life that Jesus promised is an abundant life walking in the anointing of preservation. We must take authority over the enemy and not allow his tactics, we must resist him and he will flee—resulting in preservation.
To resist the devil and his attempts to steal, kill, and destroy, we identify his tactics and know who is out to get us. The Bible (NKJV) reveals the enemy throughout the Scriptures, labeling him:
accuser (Revelation 12:10)
adversary (Job 1)
antichrist (book of Revelation)
baal (Judges 2)
beast (book of Revelation)
beelzebub (Matthew 12:24)
Belial (2 Corinthians 6:15)
deceiver (book of Revelation)
demon (Matthew 8:31-33)
dragon (Revelation 12)
enemy (Matthew 13:39)
evildoer (Isaiah 1:4)
wicked one (1 John 5:19)
fallen angel/morning star (Isaiah 14:12-15)
lawless one (2 Thessalonians 2:8-9)
liar, father of lies (John 8:44)
lucifer (Isaiah 14:12)
murderer (John 8:44)
prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2)
roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8)
satan (book of Job)
serpent (Genesis 3) thief, robber, destroyer (John 10:10)
wicked one (Matthew 13:19)
I believe that it saddens God when we blame Him for tragedies, calamities, sickness, or death that is actually caused by the devil. This is why in John 10:10, Jesus clearly distinguishes between the goodness of God and the evil of satan.
In clear terms, Jesus states that the devil is responsible for killing, stealing, and destroying while expressing that He is the Source of abundant life. As we have discovered in the biblical references in this book, by calling upon the name of the Lord, we can experience blessings, healing, protection, rescue, and preservation. Remember, this is our covenant rights package and the free gift given upon salvation, also known as sozo. Asserting your sozo rights, which come as part of your salvation, establishes you as a favored child of God, who must be aware of the enemy’s attacks.
The enemy uses many things to lead people astray. The devil wants nothing more than for us to not know what Jesus paid for and what is legally ours in our covenant. If he can gain access in our lives and we open our hearts or lives to him, he gains access to steal the preservation of a blessed covenant life and all it entails. A good example would be with Judas, one of Jesus’s disciples. He had every benefit as the others, but opened the door of his heart to the devil and his life was cut short. The anointing that preserved his life while serving under Jesus was sadly shortened as he took his own life.
Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people. Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him money (Luke 22:1-5 NIV).
Judas’s life was stolen from him by his own greed, affecting the anointing of preservation upon him. The enemy fears who we know, being Jesus, and what we know, being our covenant rights. He seeks to challenge both and look for an open door, seeking whom he may devour. Keep speaking the power of what Jesus provided, continue to boldly say, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. I am anointed,” and you invite the power of God’s Spirit into your life and activate the anointing of preservation. With this anointing present, you raise up a standard against the attacks of the devil, who will be restrained from laying his hands on you. Indeed, when you are anointed, you are shielded from the thief’s schemes.
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken! (Isaiah 54:17 NLT)
By “no weapon,” it means absolutely none—not even the devil’s most insidious tactics will succeed against you. We must not only believe this but claim it, declaring it in faith boldly! In addition, your detractors will be rendered speechless. I believe it can also mean that we should be wise and avoid getting into heated arguments, particularly on social media.
Jesus willingly endured ridicule, taunts, and misunderstandings but always stayed in the Spirit of love and truth, preserving His life until He laid it down. As representatives of God on earth, we can also deflect the devil’s arrows and avoid getting into the flesh that opens us up for attacks from the enemy. Jesus specifically informed His disciples and us:
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! (John 14:12-14 NLT)
If we want to see powerful results in our lives and concerning others, we must be like Jesus as Christians and believers in Him. Being a Christian means being Christlike and anointed. When we are saved, walking in the spirit, we become an anointed person, like Christ. We then are able to perform extraordinary works that bring honor to the Father, like Jesus did. We must be vigilant and able to recognize the enemy to avoid turning away from God’s Word and living a life that affects the anointing of preservation upon us.

By His Spirit
A vital way to protect us from the onslaughts of the enemy is for Christians to establish and maintain a connection to the anointing of God on our lives. One way we do this is through His Word, but also in regular fellow- ship with other believers under the guidance of anointed leadership. It helps to bring the anointing of preservation against the schemes and deceptions of the enemy. This is because whenever two or more gather in God’s name, His presence is there with them (as demonstrated in Matthew 18:20, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Hebrews 10:25, Luke 8:4, among others). This presence comes because of our agreement, and God releases His spirit to go forth in power and demonstration. It is what the enemy fears as it exposes and destroys his assignments not in our ability, but by His Spirit.
So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6 NKJV).
When we try to do things in our own efforts or power, we will not succeed in overcoming the attacks of the enemy. Zechariah prophesies, essentially stating, “Take heed, you cannot succeed by mere human ability. Your victory comes not from your own power, nor strength, but through the Spirit.” To be able to combat the devil, we must possess an anointing—it’s that straightforward and miraculous. It is all about God and His Spirit. This was what caused Jesus to minister in such power and destroy the works of the devil, especially seeing many healed and touched by the anointing.
And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him (Acts 10:38 NLT).
The Holy Spirit is the ultimate Source of the anointing that preserves us. When His Spirit rests upon us, we become anointed for action demonstrated with His power. Jesus spent much of His time performing good deeds through the anointing of the Holy Spirit and healing those oppressed by the devil. It was the devil, not God, who was responsible for inflicting sickness and oppression upon people. Jesus was bold in His assignment to speak up and bold about His assignment to expose darkness and release an anointing to preserve the betterment of those He touched.
We as believers, especially leaders, need to do as Jesus did. He took a stand against evil by speaking up and distinguishing right from wrong. There is such a need for that today, especially in preserving the truth, maintaining a standard of righteousness and morals. Sadly, many people, even Christians, take a neutral approach or a cowardly approach to taking a stand against darkness and the things the enemy is trying to do, especially in our culture. Yet, we have an anointing to make a difference and to help pre- serve not only our lives but a generation.
This anointing is a power that does not come from our own selves but from the Holy Spirit, in His boldness. It is what is making a difference that we are seeing in this hour. Yet, there are always those who adopt the belief that “we should not confront darkness or the evils of our day” and especially they say, “avoid politics.”
As I mentioned from the start of this book, we can- not remain silent or inactive or we will greatly hinder the anointing released to preserve our generation. We must refuse to be silent as I believe we are being summoned by God to stand boldly, courageously, and without fear in His anointing that destroys the works of darkness.
Do Something
I believe more than ever now is the time for Christians to act, or evil will prevail. In addition to prayer, we must stand up and declare our faith in Jesus as Lord. The more we expose the darkness and speak truth concerning the many lies of the devil, an anointing is released to bring preservation. The devil loses his strongholds and righteousness prevails.
It’s critical that we understand and recognize the tactics of the devil. Lawlessness, lies, and deceptions are how he is trying to steal, kill, and destroy today.
The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 NIV).
In my conviction, had Jesus been present on earth today, He wouldn’t be silent as some are, especially His preachers. I strongly believe if He was operating in His ministry during the years 2020-2022 as we saw many lies and attempts of the enemy to destroy the innocent and even our nation, He would have made the statement, “I came to do good and heal those oppressed by the devil, which is what I shall continue doing today. You will not close down My church, nor My ministry. You won’t censor Me—and for the record, I will be performing good and healing tomorrow, the day after, and the next day as well.” This would have been His message, and it should be ours as well—today and every day.
We are powerfully anointed by His Spirit to go about doing good and destroying the works of the devil. We are key to releasing the anointing of preservation that makes a difference in our lives. This is how our families, cities, regions, and nations will be gloriously changed and preserved. It is when we work with the Holy Spirit as His anointed vessels.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen (Mark 16:20 KJV).
Anointed Words
As already explained, we usually associate the concept of the anointing solely with the laying on of hands or the transmission of physical mantles, as with Elijah and Elisha. However, in Matthew 8:5-13, we can see that Jesus was able to heal the centurion’s servant by speaking the word only. This denotes that we, too, can unleash the power of the anointing through our words.
This is why I can’t stress the importance of continuing to declare, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, I am anointed,” to bring God’s anointing into your life. We need to adopt the same faith standard and understanding of the centurion in the Bible that knew the power of words to make a difference. It not only healed his servant but preserved his life!
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed (Matthew 8:7-8 KJV).
I promise you, if you make a continued habit of saying and believing this truth, you will certainly see the benefits. Just think how much the enemy is fearing your words about the revelation concerning the anointing of preservation!

Another one of these important posts, hoping it reaches the people here.
"Times have changed over the last 500+ years, but some basic challenges never change. Also, God’s Word never changes. The gospel never changes. But the culture has changed.
When Martin Luther nailed those 95 theses on the Castle Church in Wittenberg (Germany) 500 years ago, on October 31, 1517, what questions might people have asked him?
Do you think anyone came up to him and asked, “Dr. Luther, it’s all very well and good to nail these theses on the church door. But explain how you can trust the Bible when carbon dating gives dates that contradict its genealogies”? Or, “did dinosaurs go on Noah’s Ark?”
Well, of course no one asked him such questions. Carbon dating was invented over 400 years later, in the 1900s. Similarly, he wouldn’t have been asked about dinosaurs (a term invented in 1841), Lucy (discovered in 1974), the big bang (coined in 1949), Charles Darwin (born in 1809), and so on.
Martin Luther was dealing with a different set of questions, which he understood as attacks on the authority of God’s Word in his era. He was confronting people who were using man’s fallible ideas and imposing them on the unchanging, infallible Word of God.
It was an authority issue. Who is the ultimate authority? God or man? This is the battle that began in Genesis three and has been raging ever since. The battle doesn’t change but it does manifest in different ways in different eras.
What Martin Luther boldly accomplished was to start a movement to challenge the church to return to the authority of God’s Word. He specifically was defending justification by faith. And so out of the Reformation came the cry for Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone.
Actually five solas (Latin phrases) came out of the Reformation. Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”) means the Bible alone is our highest authority. The other solas were Sola Fide (“faith alone”), Sola Gratia (“grace alone”), Solus Christus (“Christ alone”), and Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”).
I’ve often said that the ministry of Answers in Genesis is helping to ignite a New Reformation. This stresses the first sola—Sola Scriptura. In fact, God warns us that Sola Scriptura is the focus of the devil’s ongoing attacks on God’s Word in every generation. Second Corinthians 11:3 warns: “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
In other words, the devil will use the same method on us that he used on Eve to get people to not believe the Word of God.
So what method did he use on Eve? We read about it in Genesis 3:1: “He said to the woman, ‘Did God actually say . . . ?’” Another translation puts it this way: “Did God really say?” Notice the first attack was on the authority of the Word of God, to get Adam and Eve to doubt and disbelieve God’s word.
The warning then is that the devil will attack the authority of God’s Word by creating doubt in his Word, which in the end can lead to unbelief. I call this the Genesis 3 attack. That attack has never let up; it never changes. But what does change is how the attack manifests itself.
Down through the ages believers have dealt with various attacks on God’s Word. For example, the early church faced attacks on the deity of Christ, Martin Luther’s era faced attacks on justification by faith, and the Enlightenment period of the 1800s faced attacks on Christ’s bodily resurrection.
But what is the main “Genesis 3 attack” today? I suggest the teaching of evolution/millions of years, based on naturalism (atheism), that permeates the culture and church. Evolution is really the pagan religion of this age, which secularists push as their justification for rejecting God and his Word.
Compromise with this pagan religion is a major reason the church is losing so many in the current and coming generations. It’s also a major reason our once-Christianized West is becoming less Christian every day, at least from a worldview perspective.
Today’s Genesis 3 attack has resulted in a loss of respect for the Bible’s authority. So many in the church no longer believe God’s Word in Genesis because they believe evolutionary ideas. As a result, the culture doesn’t see why they should trust the Bible on anything it speaks about. And so many Christians don’t really understand what they believe and why and don’t know how to defend the Christian faith.
Thus, this attack on Genesis’ creation account opened the door for coming generations to reject biblical authority. As a result many people are careening down a slippery slide of doubt and unbelief, resulting in a generational loss from the church, and a very secularized worldview permeating the church and culture.
That’s why I believe we need a new Reformation. We need (symbolically of course) people across this nation and the world nailing Genesis 1–11 on doors of churches and Christian institutions to call God’s people back to the authority of God’s Word beginning in Genesis. We need to question what’s being taught and hold the teachers accountable. We need to shut the door of compromise in Genesis, or we will continue to see the church’s impact on the culture lessening and the culture’s impact on the church increasing!
Sadly, most churches (not all of course), and most Christian colleges, seminaries and bible colleges have been impacted by the religion of naturalism by compromising Genesis with evolution and/or millions of years.
Yes, once again we need to be proclaiming Sola Scriptura in our generation, and confront the rampant compromise in the church, which makes man’s fallible ideas (evolution/millions of years) the authority over God’s infallible Word.
“Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?” (Isaiah 2:22).
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6)." - by ken ham

bravery in this world is to keep things pure in heart
but this is also the courage of having the heart reborn in A new True nature
(inside, Anew)
the courage to “believe…” is actually a point of humility in being open to simply receive what is already done on our behalf through pure and sacred Blood
(becoming virgin pure just as gold is refined, just as pure olive oil used to illumine the inside of the Temple since the heart becomes the Spirit’s Temple)
we’re not bowing to the culture, if said culture goes astray from our Creator’s truth.
people and nations have gone astray throughout the course of our fallen History as humans who have been instilled with conscience, yet some pay no heed to it. even choosing to be a good person is not enough to enter eternal life since we’re each still marked by an old Adamic nature. we must take upon ourselves the True nature of Adam reborn, the resurrected Son who is Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus the Christ)
this is the path of Light and no other.
from John’s ancient writing about an illuminated conversation:
Woman: Sir, it is obvious to me that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped here on this mountain, but Your people say that Jerusalem is the only place for all to worship. Which is it?
Jesus: Woman, I tell you that neither is so. Believe this: a new day is coming—in fact, it’s already here—when the importance will not be placed on the time and place of worship but on the truthful hearts of worshipers. You worship what you don’t know while we worship what we do know, for God’s salvation is coming through the Jews. The Father is spirit, and He is seeking followers whose worship is sourced in truth and deeply spiritual as well. Regardless of whether you are in Jerusalem or on this mountain, if you do not seek the Father, then you do not worship.
Woman: These mysteries will be made clear by He who is promised, the Anointed One.
Jesus: The Anointed is speaking to you. I am the One you have been looking for.
The Book of John, Chapter 4:19-26 (The Voice)
do you “believe…” in writing of the Spirit that searches for the heart of A pure Queen?
(A new Eve)
there is a beautiful mystery “unveiled” in the Church Body as Bride of the eternal King (A new Adam) in that even though the Body of the Church is comprised of both men & women (and boys & girls) each according to their conceived gender in the womb, yet we also see in this a pure “mirroring” of earthly marriage shared as a lifelong covenant of a (man & woman) according to our Creator’s original “Genesis” design in which the Church upholds
(it is sacred)

Be safe, help each other stay grounded if he tries to put thoughts in you. You’ll always be too many to handle!
"Let's just go to him," Adrienne says, pulling JJ forward. Jackie holds out a hand in warning.
"That other one is here, too, if he's spoken with Cedar. You can't go forward without watching for him."
He hefts his staff and strikes mercilessly across the length of the hallway, checking for invisible magicians. If all you have to do is touch to make the illusion go away, Jackie isn't worried - he loves to hit things.
"So the corrupted one is your ally in this, then?" calls Cedar. "You led my sister astray."
JJ doesn't even pull his arm out from Adrienne's to speak, letting her hold onto him. "He's here to help me with things I had to do one way or another, Cedar. You used to agree with me, you knew things were wrong here."
"I can start with him, then," says Cedar.
Jackie swings out and connects with something, and he yells as it grabs his staff and kicks him in the stomach, stumbling him. He reaches up to catch Mateos's blow - but instead of the dark-eyed magician, he looks up to blue and green.
"Now, now, darling," says a voice much too familiar, even all these years later. "You are going to get yourself in a lot of trouble with all that, Red."
"Cheap shit," Jackie snarls. "You're dead. And you never get to fucking touch me again!"
He lashes out, but the false Anti is leaping back, and he glitches out of existence, and then back in - a half-dozen versions of him, surrounding all five of them, armed with knives.
"I can see your nightmares," says Cedar, from somewhere they can't see. "And Mateos can make them real."
"No, Jackie's right, you can't scare us with this," Marvin snaps. "He's gone, and this is all fake."
"Not all fake," says Cedar. "One of them is real."
"I'll fight all six," says Marvin, lashing out with fire, driving Mateos's doubles back. Henrik's just as steady beside him, gun held low, eyes bright with focus.
But JJ's eyes are closed, his hand wrapped up in Adrienne's arm, and it's as she turns to look at him that the view from the camera closest to him changes entirely.
You're in a shed, on a mountain in Peru. It's quiet, and dark, with only slats of gold light striving their way through and falling against the ground. Anti stands beside Jameson, looking perfectly human, even pretty with long hair and silver earrings. "There you go, pet," he's saying. "Doesn't it feel good to let the monster out?"
At Jameson's feet, Genesis is covered in flowing cuts. She hangs low in her chains. She's never done anything wrong to him.
He is covered in her blood.
Jameson presses down on the weight of Adrienne's arm in his own, turning away from the false Genesis. Cedar emerges from the walls of the shed, towering over Anti and Jameson alike, much taller than his sister. His eyes glow gold as molten iron.
"You came here trying to be her hero," he says, voice quieter and harsher at the same time. "Trying to make things better for other people, is that your reasoning? Who are you to help anyone? All you are is a torturer pretending to fit in with the rest of the world."
JJ never lets go of her arm to say a word, but he looks up at Cedar, mouth tight.
"You had your chance to make peace with Dapper," Cedar says. "But I see what you really are - still just his Carver. And this part of you will never find any peace at all."
JJ closes his eyes, but it doesn't block the images out as Cedar begins to pull back old thoughts, memories, fears - you can see him coated in blood a dozen times, see corpses, see innocents tortured into screaming, see his brothers begging him to stop.
"Take your hands off my sister," Cedar hisses. "Or I will show her exactly who you really are."
JJ does not let go.
