I warmed up with a post-DoC Gen today. Fuck those belts they are the coolest part of his outfit but god do I hate drawing them

Some people will claim that Angeal and Genesis never really mattered much to Seph in the grand scheme of things. But like...when you have him committing treason to save them, starving himself out of stress, willing to give blood to ensure Gen's health and survival, and constantly brooding over them, what ELSE is that supposed to look like other than love?

It's not even a matter of shipping. Even in a strictly platonic no-homo sense, Sephiroth is devoted to them. They were his friends, something that never came easy for him. They were precious people in his life. He wanted to protect them. He enjoys their company. He speaks of them constantly and never stopped worrying about them.

Sephiroth loved them. Genuinely. Earnestly. He loved them so much. He loved them so much that them LEAVING is what ultimately kicks off his descent into madness. They were the only good things in his life. They were his world.

THIS is his face when the three of them were together. He's at peace. He's savoring the moment. He's RELISHING the experience of being with the two people that matter most to him. He is GIDDY at the prospect of being with them, and getting the chance to fight with them.

Cloud: Too terrified of disrespecting women to even acknowledge his new body. Wears three layers at all times and avoids mirrors like they're cursed. Tries to go the entire month without using the bathroom because it feels too "personal." It does not go well. He's somehow gotten even prettier—soft cheeks, fluttery lashes, natural blush—and it only worsens his constant fear of being approached. A stranger says "hello" and he panics, throat-punches them, and sprints away sobbing. It was Zack. They were supposed to hang out.

Sephiroth: Didn't notice the change until five hours in, went to the bathroom, glanced down, and had a heart attack at the severe lack of penis. Refuses to wear a bra on principle—"they're restrictive and uncomfortable"—but rapidly discovers the hell that is underboob sweat. Hears someone say "Smile, sweetheart" in the hallway. Doesn't smile. That man is now hospitalized. Stares into the mirror, realizes he looks like his mother. Then sadly uses his own boobs as stress balls. Period blood is an inconvenience but he's deeply educated on menstrual products. Then he gets his first uterine cramp mid-meeting and immediately starts looking up coffin prices.

Zack: Is trapped in a hellish loop of three moods: "AWESOME, TITS!!" → "FUCK, CRAMPS >:(" → "RESPECT WOMEN." Immediately calls Kunsel over and goes, "Squeeze them. You have to. For equality." Kunsel sobs and refuses, so Zack tries to show him how to attach a pad to underwear, educationally. Lazard walks in as Zack holds up underwear and yells, "THE WINGS GO UNDER THE SEAMS, KUNSEL. YOU'RE MAKING IT WEIRD." Also keeps pulling his shirt up to show off how cool his bra is, like a toddler with a new sticker, and Angeal has to keep slapping his hands down.

Genesis: Spends the first hour in prayer, thanking the Goddess for the gift of divine femininity and promising to use it wisely. The next hour, tries to seduce Lazard. Experiences PMS violently, throws a chair because someone ate his strawberry ice cream. Cries when he sees Cloud Strife walk by because "he's so adorable." Throws open Angeal's office door, declares he wants a baby, Angeal panics and escapes through the window.

Angeal: Gets immediately self-conscious about the bounce. "Do I run like this? Like, in front of people?" Starts wearing two sports bras. Rips one in half doing basic warm-ups. Zack accidentally glances and immediately avoids eye contact for the next four hours. Angeal corners him and gives a stern, dad-tier lecture about sexism in the work place. Zack sobs mid-apology, wailing,

Zack: ARE YOU MY MOM OR MY DAD NOW?

Angeal: NEITHER, WHAT THE HELL

It's been some time but I love your hc, so how do asg act when they have to babysit zc' babies?

i like to think they’d handle it pretty well!

angeal definitely keeps in contact with cloud to give updates and remind a probably anxious cloud that the kids are doing good and are being taken care of! but he also definitely has to run around and clean up after the kids a lot, cause they are zack’s afterall

genesis is constantly taking cute pics of the kids to send to zack and cloud too, further comforting cloud cause genesis would probably understand cloud’s anxiety, he does play around and rile the kids up before they have to give them back though

and sephiroth is surprisingly good at keeping the kids occupied without making too bad of a mess and keeps them from causing much trouble

and bonus if asg also have kids then all of that gets thrown out the window because all the kids are running around and playing together and poor asg are just running around after them stressed out of their minds

Genesis: *starting to panic* You can quit SOLDIER?!?!?

If they go the same route for Sephiroth that they did with Angeal regarding the dreams in FS2 where the idealistic scenes became nightmares with Angeal’s loved ones spitting dark, cruel things at him, then things could get ugly fast.

Hojo will make sense as a simple voice of condemnation and high expectation. He wants Sephiroth to be perfect and not guided by weaknesses like emotions. So, he could be an illusion/voice preying on every little flaw that Sephiroth has. Hojo could be a voice of pain and pressure. He could even just channel deep fear and stress by appearing to begin with.

After all, we already know his voice demands endurance beyond what is healthy or normal.

I imagine Glenn could turn into a negative voice for Sephiroth that rages and insults instead of apologizing excessively and being warm like he has sounded in the illusion so far. I’m not sure about that one yet. We’ll see. But if Glenn becomes demonic, we already have the weaknesses he would aim for.

But worst of all, we have Alissa, Lucrecia, Jenova.

The Mother. The vision that Sephiroth is most attached to right now…that’s the one I’m most worried about. Gillian became vicious in Angeal’s nightmare and went straight for his darkest fears and thoughts.

If Jenova becomes nightmarish, that will be Sephiroth’s final trial without a doubt. He will have to be convinced and shown that the Jenova of his dreams was a monster and an illusion, that his real mother is gone. “Dead” according to his false knowledge, but essentially missing either way.

If Angeal helps him, maybe Sephiroth can see through the illusion, take some comfort in his true mother being a human that merely passed on, and the visions spitting hate and despair at him are not real. Not his real mother. Just a monster. It’s a monster with his mother’s face. All a lie. And he can accept that…

If they do this, it would be perfect. Because you know what? That acceptance Sephiroth could reach about “Jenova” will be neatly undone later, when Genesis catches him in a state of psychological collapse and brutally reveals that, no, actually, Jenova IS a monster. She IS inhuman. That wasn’t an illusion. There is no comfort to be found. Angeal is not there to break through the dream. Jenova is a monster and she was always there. Sephiroth “healed” for nothing.

Nojima, this would be so brilliant. Come on.

Post-Canon!Genesis but him witnessing Sephiroth's sudden turn into theatrical, flamboyant villainy gradually causes him to sober the fuck up and now HE'S the stoic, overly mature one while Sephiroth prances around monologuing in the background.

Angeal: When I said you two should bond more, this is not what I meant.

Genesis: I'm disciplining him. He didn't follow orders during drills, and since every other method has failed, I contacted his mother. She said this is what they used to do when he was a "problem child."

Angeal: Don't you think that's a little—

Genesis, reading dramatically from the email: "Step one: fold him inside the blanket horizontally."

*Genesis folds Zack in half. Zack lets out a muffled "thump" of protest*

Genesis: "Step two: roll tightly, like a burrito you intend to eat but are also mad at."

*Genesis starts rolling Zack across the floor with determination*

Angeal: Is this even legal?

Genesis: "Step three: pick up the burrito. Make direct eye contact to assert dominance."

*Genesis scoops up the fully wrapped Zack like a swaddled baby, staring into his soul. Zack angrily starts wiggling*

Genesis: Ah! Angeal, he's resisting!

*Angeal rushes over to assist. Right then, Sephiroth walks in, sees Genesis and Angeal fussing over burrito Zack*

Sephiroth: TRAITORS.

Cloud broke up with Tifa and started dating Genesis AU except Sephiroth legitimately doesn't remember who Genesis is (nor Angeal) because he lost those memories when he died the first time. Man that is gonna be awkward (not for Sephiroth, not like he cares about that aside from Cloud)

Genesis: I can't believe he doesn't remember me.

Cloud: Don't take it personally, he doesn't remember much from before I killed him in Nibelhiem.

Genesis: But it's me! He should have remembered me! We were like great rivals.

Cloud: Well, uh, I don't know.

Genesis, crying: LOVELESS WAS WRONG! THERE IS NO JOY! ONLY HATE!

Cloud: Oh Gaia.
