feel like we talked about the editing turn-around time for this video but not about the sponsor? like yes boo chromium based opera but usually sponsors need to approve the video before it goes up, so them doing the insta stories today, editing it, sending it to the sponsor, and getting it back approved all in one day? make it make sense to me

Anyone else think short form social media based on algorithms designed to promote topics that create more engagement instead of more joy, the idea of fast fashion but conveyed through social media, and the fact you can monetize suffering and outrage better than ever has largely resulted in the death spiral of media literacy and the mass emergence of bad faith readings?
#I may be venting a lil but god it blows my mind#fyp is a blessing and a curse because i don't think ppl were ever meant to be subjected to this many ppl at once#god i took a bird site hiatus for weeks and now BARELY check it and it already feels like a hit#oughhhhh#even fandom spaces have hugely incorporated marketing and networking into them bc of cmms and sponsorship and building portfolio#which would be fine tbh if it weren't for the way socmed is designed#now it's like you can't support too many ppl or else you're shadow banned or you have to make yourself palatable and marketable#and websites with threads in which people will only read the first post before qrting because ratios are seen as five minutes of fame#features that permit beating an algorithm are locked behind a paywall that promises you money if you go viral#and what goes viral is usually incendiary content meant for those ratios or trends. whether for or against OP#even in hobbyist spaces the climate has changed so much due to the monetization and marketing and just. ugh#not to mention side accounts dedicated to gossip in this new priv account culture like...idk#if you have to make another account so you can make fun of a friend on main with selected priv friends it just doesn't sit well with me#and not every priv account does this but enough do and it makes me tired#unsolicited hate comments are still as bad as they used to be on ff dot net except now people openly are proud of it more#why do most socmed feel like passive aggressive sticky notes on high school lockers#there is so much more I could say about everything that has left me weary about the internet but I don't know the time or place#and I don't want anyone to think this is about them because it's a general statement. though if you are doing the more inflammatory things.#maybe rethink that. it's not good for anyone else and it's not good for you either#I keep coming back online to check on ppl and see art and I *know* it's draining for my health every time#but I feel a lot better now that i use socmed less overall. and that I try to focus on what makes me happy#it just sucks seeing so many people i care about endure absolutely wild struggles bc people online do not care.#I like rambling in my tags because this is the only place I ramble except my personal journal and to my wife

i'm confused about the wad release, is he saying it's not (as of now anyway) going to be available anywhere for purchase and/or streaming unless you buy tickets for the thing on the 25th?
yes. okay, the definition of "sell sth on" is interesting.
as i understand it: after the shows are filmed Kiswe will have the rights to stream it for a few days, and then they (probably Dan's managers; or Kiswe itself??) will try to sell the rights (to the actual edited product this time) to someone else to make it a dvd, or put on a streaming service, or something else. i wonder if by "i get to keep it for me" Dan means that he will be able to upload it to his youtube channel or something (probably for free in this case, if youtube doesn't buy the rights to put it behind youtube premium (youtube originals is dead, do they even have a company that can buy the rights? no idea)).
distribution costs money, so obviously it's preferable for Dan to sell the rights and actually get something from this tour.
so, i really hope someone records it. i would love to. but my internet is shit, and the streams are always lagging.

versions of booster gold made by people who obviously dont know much about booster can be so infuriating because they tend to depict him as stupid or as a joke and then people who only know him from these depictions in more popular media have a skewed impression of him

But one of the biggest things out of this whole mess is the weird sort of. Egalitarianism? What the fuck are words, I don’t know. Whatever, the weird places where people could just not give a shit about gender or sex in Naruto.
AKA, let’s talk a bit about ANBU, land of the “no one knows your face, no one knows your name, fuck your personal identity, no one’s allowed to even remember your body shape since that can give away secrets, just stab that target real good and do your job.” It’s the kind of place where all that matters is how good of a weapon you are, and we can turn it into the fucked up little deadly meritocracy we want to. Because I only have so much patience for dealing with chauvinism in my dumb little fiction project.
The general shinobi forces also broadly has this attitude, though it might not be to the extreme of ANBU and ROOT. At the end of the day, as long as you can carry out your missions well, based on your specializations, the distinctions between male and female shouldn’t be a massive impediment to your ability to serve the village.
It’s the extra politics and the civilian cultural expectations that start messing things up.

how are y’all surprised or upset that more and more content creators are leaving youtube or removing their videos from there 💀💀 this isn’t 2013 no one is making money off of youtube anymore it is not a viable platform, and yeah it sucks that you now have to pay to watch content that was once free but that is not the fault of the content creators jfc

y'know, for a pokemon youtuber, i'd expect sponsors like surfshark. audible. skillshare. Normal sponsorships, y'know?
What sponsor I DIDN'T expect on a video about whether or not Nemona could actually become a champion was Morgan & Morgan, America's largest injury law firm

It's sad at the end of May seeing people reblog the "here it comes!" Pride logos post. You didn't notice that brands have decided it is no longer safe to openly support LGBT rights. The past 2 years have shown a dramatic decline in corporate sponsorship of Pride. And no, we don't care about the corporations, but you should care that they think the general public will oppose their support of LGBT rights. Anyway pay attention. The logos didn't change for Pride. It's bad.

Building a Better World Through Child Sponsorship
I Invite You to Build a Legacy of Hope and Transformation Today I felt immense happiness this weekend, as one of my adult children decided to sponsor a child. He introduced us to the child’s family in Africa, and we tried to connect over WhatsApp.  Though they couldn’t speak English, we waved and communicated through body language, sharing smiles and laughter across the screen.  My…
