I have a headcanon/au idea for everyone!

Chuuya is trans-masc, but mostly just because when the sheep found him they assumed he was a boy and he just didn’t know that they were wrong about his sex. Like he just straight up didn’t know the difference between male and female and he certainly didn’t understand what the fuck gender is. (I don’t know what the fuck gender is, it’s so abstract, i put no stock in it. I will respect people’s pronouns and such but I will never understand why they care or what they think the difference even is it’s not like you know anything about a person based on their gender. The entire concept is obsolete.)

So Chuuya is a dude, he’s a guy, uses he/him pronouns because that’s what he’s comfortable with and what he’s used to and what everyone assumes anyway. But he’s female. Naturally androgynous, flat chested but still technically female. And that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. It explains his height a bit, 5’3 is a perfectly normal height for females even if it’s on the shorter end for males. It explains his tiny waist, despite his healthy lifestyle and musculature. It explains that one line at the beginning of Storm Bringer when the flags comment on how he gets in a bad mood about once a month. Other than that it’s completely irrelevant outside of sex, and even then it has 0 affect on dynamics, just mechanics.

Would’ve been so awkward when the sheep finally found out about this little misunderstanding, but honestly they had bigger things to worry about. Shirase was embarrassed and apologetic at first until Chuuya said it was probably a good thing anyway. Then it just became something they laughed about, like hoooo boy how did we miss that for like 4 years?!

Okay so I know that what I am about to say is going to be misinterpreted/make people angry but I really need to say it.

GENDER IS OBSOLETE!

It’s bullshit! At this point gender roles have been loosened enough that they have practically lost all meaning. I don’t think there is a point to all the gender spectrum stuff anymore. The gender binary has disappeared from our generation. We shouldn’t try to make more boxes to fit in too. We’re like “you don’t have to fit in to any box just make ur own! 😄” But that’s still limiting ourselves and honestly it over complicates everything and makes it harder for people understand each other.

When binary gender roles were stricter and governed people’s behavior and choices more it makes sense to decide that you’d rather be the other gender, all the time or just sometimes, that if you conform to one life would be better. But that isn’t the case anymore. Girls can wear pants, guys can wear skirts. Girls don’t have to wear makeup, guys can. A trans guy can wear a dress. We have moved beyond gender roles.

Why can’t we throw gender out the window? Why do people need to label themselves to act how they want or feel comfortable when that label can paint a target on their back? Why are hormone treatments or top surgeries any different from other cosmetic treatments like plastic surgery in the eyes of the law? Why does anyone think that bathrooms need to be designed for one sex or another? Why does anyone think the sex they were born with invalidates their gender? Why does this stuff have to be a huge argument? Why does any of this shit even fucking matter?!

Look, I respect that people can feel dysphoric with their assigned gender and with the body they were born with. But doesn’t erasing gender and normalizing body and hormone modification fix that better? You don’t have to be trans to hate having tits or your period! You don’t have to be trans to want to look or present differently. No one needs to conform to anything, and everyone gets to make their own choices about their bodies! Can’t we just throw all the labels away and make it harder for the system to single people out for their identity?

And pronouns! Don’t get me started on pronouns! Actually I’m already started and there’s no stopping me at this point. Gendered pronouns are ridiculous! In this day and age you can’t assume anything about a person based on what pronouns they use. It has lost all meaning. And now we’re using the plural they as singular since it was already gender neutral but that is so confusing grammatically! Can we please just pick one neo pronoun and apply it to everyone? Please? It’s so hard to keep this shit straight in my head even though I respect people’s preferred pronouns! Like, you have a group of friends and everyone is nonbinary, but everyone is constantly changing their pronouns and there are like seven people you need to keep track of and none of their pronouns even correspond with their gender identity! It’s a mess in my head!

Instead of coming up with even more ways to divide people we should be erasing the divide!
