Aprhodite and the Sea 🐚

I found an article, which if I remember correctly was paid, about Aphrodite and her relationship with the sea 🌊 I t was an aspect that, as a novice devotee of Aphrodite, I was unaware of. I think this article is very interesting and I will try to summarize and put the most important or what I think is most relevant since there is a lot of archaeological and historical information that is not important now.

Many of the temples that we find related to Aphrodite, we find them near the Mediterranean Sea. As well explains Hesiod, in the birth of Aphrodite, before coming to land she was traveling by sea from Kythera to Cyprus. Therefore, that journey she made across the sea made her to be related as the patroness of sailors, fishermen and merchants.

She was not only the protector of the aforementioned but also helped them with their earnings. She helped them to make their fishing or trade abundant and, in return, her devotees took a part of those profits to the temples of Aphrodite that could be seen from the sea. Therefore, many of these offerings were: coins, food, anchors, parts of the ship, oils with floral aromas, shells…

Today I called to Aphrodite to assist me in a self-love spell to get me motivated to leave my house alone for the first time since my breakup two weeks ago. I am taking a walk to a little witchy shop near me. With the whole $20 dollars to my name because I deserve a new silly item.

I did a tarot pull just asking for some confirmation cards and in that some cards fell out that I did not associate with Aphrodite. I still felt that they were important so after I confirmed that I was actually speaking to Aphrodite. I went to ask for a lot more confirmation on the three-card pile I had. Only to find out that Lady Hecate was shoving a big fat sign into my face. I have a feeling she's been trying to get my attention for a little bit. I am putting together some signs that's I’ve seen. Connecting some dots if you will.

Long story short I now have Lady Hecate and Aphrodite in my corner and I feel like it's a very large but exciting step into a new era for me.
