This weekend we celebrated the erikae of geiko Mitsuyo: after completing her maiko apprenticeship, she has graduated into a full fledged geiko of Miyajimacho. Congratulations!

The miyajimachou hanamachi participated in the Gion Matsuri festival on July 20, 2024. Maiko Umeyuu (Sumiya okiya) and Maiko Terutsuyo (Hanai okiya) performed the dance Natsu wa Hotaru after the float ride.

A few examples as food for thought: Wooden (although it’s almost certainly never been part of a tree)? Typical shopping-mall plastic (almost)? Not-quite-skin? Actual skin?

For the sake of Uncanny, the good ol' skin-covered plastic is a classic. The feel of something hard and cold sliding under something soft and- yknow.

Otherwise I'm a fan of metal-plastic mix! Silicone is a good way to hide the cracks between the plastic shells which cover metallic pistons and gears and the like. Classic animatronic style! Kind of like that new FNAF game... Sister Location, I think? But the tube innards aren't as efficient as normal pneumatics and motors/servos, in my opinion.

Cuphead Lost Ones au Lore (Cup Bros)

Cuphead and Mugman are 7 year old twin cups/mugs that live with their elderly caretaker (Kenneth "Ken" Kettle/Elder Kettle.)

Despite.Elder Kettle's warnings the boy wander (very very) far from home and end up in the Devil's casino. Cuphead and Mugman start placing bets and Cuphead would win every gamble. Soon the owner of the casino, The Devil showed his face and then made a deal with Cuphead.

Cuphead and Mugman free all the souls and it's a year later so they're 8. The Clock guy (idk his name) tells them Legendary Chalice needs their help on a island far away. Chalice then gives a cookie to Mugman and he takes a bite then Chalice becomes alive and Mugman becomes a ghost. Chalice takes the boys to a bakery where her guardian (Chef Saltbaker) lives.

(y'all know the rest. Them whooping all the bosses butts :)

Also Caffè and Vienna are hopping from island to island commiting little crimes. They left the boys with Elder Kettle when the boys were only 2 years old. They didn't want to endangered their children,with what they do they couldn't risk having the boys with them.
