the december air has always found a way to work it's chill deep into your bones. it makes your teeth chatter and a trill run up your spine. but there was an unusual heat burning in your sinuses.
sitting in the observation deck, huddled around a projection of the battlefield with the few people who understood what was actually happening in the world. your eyes burn, having been too devoted to whatever image was displayed to take a second to breathe. lungs stuttering and beginning to claw up your throat for single shred of air.
but you don't move.
no.
you cannot move.
there's a faint ringing in your ears, pounding louder and louder until a scream rips through the deafening silence. you don't even recognize it as your own, nor do you feel your kneecaps colliding harshly with the stone floor.
there he is. satoru gojo. the man you have loved for as long as you can remember. unmoving.
oh.
wait...
he just moved.
false alarm. it was just the top half of his body falling from the world-cutting slash that sukuna had just used to kill the strongest sorcerer of the modern age.
hot tears run down your face as your body moves instinctively to try to shatter the screen, held back by the clammy hands of kusakabe. your chest heaves in a gasping breath, only drawn in to fuel the wails erupting from your throat.
out of the corner of your eye, you can see yuta wincing, eyes drawn away from the scene of you crumbling. no one speaks, seemingly just as shocked as you. yet no one else cried.
it feels as if you are the only one left out of an unknown message, a warning that foretold of the events playing out in front of you.
because why would they tell you?
weak, pathetic, non-sorcerer you. you who can only see cursed spirits when in high stress because of an unfortunate accident with a sorcerer as a child. you who has no cursed technique, no ability to even harness your own cursed energy in basic imbuing. you who was possibly the weakest, the only one crying for the strongest.
teeth scrape against your tongue as the metallic taste of iron begins to fill your senses, going limp in kusakabe's hands. he lets go. your ears ring, the sounds of their hushed, urgent whispers escaping you.
you see yuta leave out of the corner of your eye, it doesn't register. you watch, numb, as kashimo and hakari charge into battle. the electric reincarnation is killed like fodder the second sukuna takes flesh.
for a long while, your sight is blurry, phasing in and out of reality in moments, recalling everything you loved about satoru gojo.
"satoru, who do you always wear your sunglasses when your not at work?" your voice asks, much softer and higher, a memory of youth. the two of you are maybe nineteen years old: young and stupid.
the white-haired man's blue gaze peeks over the rim of black lenses, confusion evident. then he remembers that you aren't like him, you don't know what it's like to constantly see filth crawling the streets. sweet y/n who doesn't even know that there's a flyhead buzzing around the room like a gnat.
you're untainted by this world, not ruined by jujutsu. you know it exists, only because of him and a run-in with a sorcerer when you were eight. but you don't know what it's like, and you never will: which is the greatest blessing satoru could ever wish you to have.
"i just like how they look, i am a natural beauty after all." he hums, eyes rolling as a grin parts his pink lips. because if he could help it, you wouldn't ever have to know what the world was truly like.
a clamor disrupts your thought, hearing shoko rushing out of the room. your eyes widen, stumbling shakily to your feet, catching your balance against the wall. maki mumbles something to try to get you to say, but you don't hear her.
chasing after the sound of peach-heels clicking against tiled floor, you catch a glimpse of white hair under a bloodied sheet. then a stainless steel door is slammed shut.
"shoko, please, let me see him..." you plea, hand fumbling with the knob, only to find the exam room locked. tears burn hot behind your eyes, sweaty palms pressing against the cold metal: fogging it up. your heart stops as you realize the possibility that gojo planned for his death.
deep down in your heart, you knew he wouldn't let himself rest, even when his life had long-departed his corpse. it makes you desperately knock against the door, mind remembering the pseudo geto that had trapped satoru in the prison realm.
"shoko, you can't do this to him, you can't just use him like this. you of all people should know what this means..!" your voice is shaky, panic rising in your veins as you remember the night staoru shared his broken heart with you.
"what kind of question is that? you can be both." your voice is older now, aged twenty-seven. white hair is strewn over your thighs, deft fingers carding through snowy tresses. satoru hums, eyes closing.
he reaches up, finger flicking teasingly against your forehead. "no one but you thinks that, angel. to the world, i am either 'the strongest' or 'satoru gojo.' that is simply how it works for me." his tone was even, nonchalant even. as if this was a reality he had co,e to terms with through a long life of turmoil.
a pout curls your lips downwards, looking into pools of serene blue as satoru stares right back up at you. a sigh puffs from your lips, hunching over to press a kiss against his forehead, pushing strands of ivory out of your way.
"to me, you'll always be my 'toru..."
memories fade away like dust in the wind when the clatter of metal jars you back into reality. it'ls likely shoko setting her instruments against her steel tray, likely preparing to operate on the corpse of the man you have never been able to love as much as you wished.
"shoko, please. please let him be human before being 'satoru gojo' or 'the strongest,' let him rest." the words fall from your lips like a prayer, desperation dripping in your tone. sinking to your knees, back pressed against the door, head in your hands. "you know i can't do that, y/n..."
the world moves to fast to allow grief to process. and fate was a cruel mistress. she had a penchant for kicking the weak while they were already down. which was why yuta okkotsu was being rushed behind the door you were restricted from entering: a large laceration running diagonally along his stomach.
the same wound that killed satoru, simply shallower.
but the difference was that yuta was conscious and alive.
he met your eyes for a moment, a weak smile on his face. and that same steel door was slammed against you once again. but you heard what the boy had said before it clicked shut and locked.
and the words shattered you further, if at all possible.
"i'm sorry, y/n, i'll try to bring him back to you in one piece."
it was so quiet, so faint, so soft that you just barely heard him. but it sent a wave of heat through your body, fists pounding against the steel with a reckless abandon, no matter the blood smearing over it, nor the pain pulsing from your knuckles.
deep down, you knew what was about to happen.
a part of you knew the second they retrieved gojo's body. you weren't enough of a fool to think it was simply for a proper burial. but the foolish part of your heart wanted to believe it so desperately.
you didn't need to speak, heavy sobs coming out of you, throat rubbed raw from screaming far too much in far too little time. they were going to stuff a child: yuta into your sweet satoru's body. like some sort of marionette puppet. just so the man could die for them twice.
"why did you start teaching, satoru?" again, younger, stupider, twenty five and beginning to thrive. he looks up from the small stack of papers in his hand, legs kicked up on his desk: the least teacher-like way to sit.
for once, he's serious, blue eyes looking straight through you, as if you weren't even there. it sent a chill up your spine, frozen in place. the man hums, eyes closing in thought and you can finally breathe.
finally he speaks, voice certain and doubtless. "i am going to teach the next generation of jujutsu, so that they will never have to bear the burden of being the strongest alone. and one day, they will succeed me. no one should be allowed to take youth away from young people."
you recognize the familiar look in his eyes, one that trancended this plane: that went beyond his own mortality. satoru gojo had never once been afraid of death, as if the concept entirely was foreign to him.
he doesn't react when he burns his hand on the stove, just running it under cold water and returning to what he was doing. he doesn't see a crash and think how it easily could've been him. he doesn't feel his throat begin to close up when death is narrowly avoided.
it was as if satoru gojo had known he would die a martyr since the moment he was born.
and there was a possibility he did.
footsteps without the click of a heel sound behind the door, sending bitter bile up your throat that burns against the rawness from your wails. tears well up instinctively, as if to blur your vision to prevent you from seeing what you knew was inevitably coming.
the lock clicks open, and you nearly die.
there stands satoru gojo, the same as before he left this morning.
but everything is wrong.
the way he stands. the rhythm he draws breath. the order his eyes scan over your face. the pattern he steps in. the way his hands feel when grasping yours.
"i'm sorry, miss y/n, but the fate of the world rests on this."
it was all wrong.
you couldn't even bare to look satoru- no. yuta in the eyes, knowing you'd have to see yourself in those crystalline irises, and you'd have to see the state that the world's treatment of your one and only left you in.

might get flamed 4 this but comments like “gege is just killing everybody now, gege needs to stop cooking, gege doesn't know what he's doing, etc.) r getting annoying ngl like they're posting that on every chapter no matter what happens 😭 and it's fine to criticize something obviously that can't be avoided but these empty comments that provide no actual/meaningful input into the criticism is just so redundant 💀
+1. these kinds of comments kinda encourage the disrespect gege receives... cuz they leave these kinds of comments everywhere to the point where it's pretty icky. and not much ppl bat an eye cuz some might think it's all lighthearted or normal when rlly, it's getting a bit too far. like there's ppl who r genuinely saying he deserves to get sick n stuff?? bc he kiiled ur favorite character?? bc u don't like the manga??? 😭wtaf
+2. y'all have something to say when a character “has plot armor” and y'all still yap when a character doesn't... so rlly there's no winning 💀and I, personally, don't think jjk is meant to be one of those “defeat evil with the power of friendship” shows,,, mind you, they are going up against a supernatural being who's named the king of curses and is known to be impossible to beat—of course that 17 year old ain't gonna beat his ass just cuz everyone's counting on them??? nor will that adult who's never encountered a being that strong before. it feels kinda corny saying this but the outcomes of the battles in jjk are a bit more realistic ... “gege's just killing everybody now” obviously they're going to die???? they're going against a power beyond them what do you expect 😭 i get that it's a fictional show but the characters are still humans ... even with their cursed techniques and weapons, they're not always gonna survive ... not every plan or tactic of theirs r gonna work or turn out the way they expected
+ they're at a war with something rlly powerful so ofc they're gonna fire every shot they have which, in this case, are their comrades
+ it has been addressed by the show/series itself that jujutsu tech lacks the manpower to protect everybody, this is literally part of geto's reasoning for his actions—he knows he and/or his fellow sorcerers r bound to end up with a pile of their colleagues' bodies bc there arent much sorcerers in the world esp ones that could survive for a v long time. if a character is aware of this, that means gege is as well bc he literally wrote him to think about that
+3. if u hate the writing so much JUST DROP IT 🤯 crazy idea, never been thought of before, I know !! but some comments rlly are not necessary.... just stop reading if u can't take it anymore... no one is forcing you to read it. and if u feel compelled to cuz u already read so much, then don't leave harmful comments towards gege?? it's so easy to stfu and be a decent person on the internet 😭 you're contributing nothing by leaving comments like that under someone's work. if u hate how it's going so much then go make an au and satisfy urself. it's just so unnecessary
+4. idek if gege gets paid enough to deal with reader's bs ... people need to remember these mangakas are also people with real lives who are just trying to live and get by. some authors rlly get dehumanized just bc of the art they make
idc if I get called a dickrider,, as an artist myself I'm just so annoyed I'm sawry 😓😓 drawing and writing takes a lot of work.. I get concerned abt gege's well-being when the quality drops a little in the manga. maybe they're seeing something that I'm not, that's why they leave comments like that. maybe I got something wrong too, I'd like to be enlightened if that's the case /gen

I’m so sorry that you have to deal with that. It genuinely is a gap in maturity because he’s a person with a life before reader (I know Gojo is fictional but for the sake of this topic I’m going to ask yall to be realistic since IHM touches on a lot of reality). People aren’t just side characters to your story, they’ve existed and will continue to exist whether or not you’re around. That doesn’t devalue anyone or make them gross, that’s just life 😭
You are absolutely right that it is a red flag if someone (that’s interested in relationships and stuff) has not had any prior experience bc that means there’s a reason for it 😭
We still don’t even know WHY they split, people break up over things all the time and sometimes nobody is the villain in the story. We don’t really know all that much about Gojo yet so let’s be patient PLS
Yes we’ve seen that his ex is going to try and get him back but we literally know nothing about where Gojo and Y/N stand at that point. Right now, we know they’re (at least physically) attracted to each other but they’re not at the point where exclusivity is expected. Maybe the ex is trying to wait out their marriage, maybe she actually does just suck but we DONT KNOW ANYTHING YET PLS WAIT 😭
I’m so sorry you’re getting those asks. I get that people are super excited but damn, these are the things that discourage writers from sharing their works or leaving platforms. The worst thing we can do is pressure someone (unless it’s gege) to change their story so that it’ll please you. LET AUTHORS COOK (unless it’s gege) 😤
ILYSM and I’m so sorry about the essay 😞 I got your back and will support any and all decisions you make as an author 🥰 now get behind me 🤺🤺🤺
hiiii makimais bb thx sm for ur sweet words ahhhh i adore u. n you’re one of my readers who understands ihm so much n so it really means a lot 😭💕
thank u sm. yes i think i have always try to write my gojos as their own ppl. i want to develop them outside of just the reader. this is partially bc i adore canon gojo n it’s fun to picture how he would think/feel/act in these alternate universes im putting him in based on what we know of his personality per gege, but also i think that it makes a story more interesting? i have high standards for media i consume, esp when it comes to character devlopment, so there is high chance i will include things in fics that ppl may not like if it means it matches my vision for the character’s growth
and yeahh i think that’s the thing. i understand being antsy over learning things ab the story, but like…we don’t know anything ab ihm gojo (well i know everything ab him actually but yall stay safe tho 😂😂😂) n so the pre emptive hate was kinda shocking
yes pls lemme cook i promise i’m makin a meal over here. truuussstttt. and if it’s not to ur liking, simply leave the restaurant hahah
thanks bb <3 love u tooooo n yes ellie has been feeling a lil fragile lately so i shall get behind u ty

omg and anon who brought up jjk… count ur days… jk…
without like,, trying to spoil anything.. bc i’m caught up with the story its literally (unfortunately) my top series anime wise i collect the manga and everything, id honestly put off watching it until the entire series is finished being animated, IF ur not already considering dropping the series all together. because a lot of people are due to the recent leaks chapters etc, although in my opinion they’re dropping it for the wrong reasons (got so close to the point and they still missed so bad)
i hate gege so bad they literally had every chance in the world to make such a good story with good themes and analogies and the whole shabang and they fumbled so bad. had everyone’s backstories and context set up so perfectly and then everyone was nerfed in some way. so many jjk consumers are perfect for gege in the way that NO ONE is understanding how hard themes and tragedy is meant to be. and it’s not even like “just because there’s no happy ending [yet] doesn’t mean it’s bad” ur right! it’s bad because jjk got to a point where the mc isn’t even the proper focus and there’s bitches misinterpreting his entire character as well as his most important supporting characters. YUUJI IS A CHILD. MEGUMI IS A CHILD. MY BEST FRIENDS. MY BABIES. WATCH UR MOUTH.
the way anime fans r a lot like kpop stans WHAT IS WITH GOJO SOLO STANS HES NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER SHUT UPPPPPP (coming from someone whos extremely parasocial to his character. megumi is my bias yall i love emo secondary protags it all started with sasuke and shikamaru.)
told a guy “friend” that it’s kinda like gege tried making angst in an age where aot and mha was at its peak and tbf still kind of is and he went on to say gege cooked mha and aot is ass bc of specific mha arcs (understandable but aside from those, the buildup was much better than jjk) and that aot got “political” when it didn’t need to be… i had to log out. when he said that. it’s almost as if. aot. was political. from the start. the whole theme. the whole point. of aot. was surrounding politics. it’s whatever tho… that’s what i get for trying to have a conversation with a man that plays valorant and smokes cigarettes in a non sexy way.
anyway this was my ted talk my sincere apologies for yapping again and possibly not making any sense……
—🪼
i’m really trying to not spoil it for me but the way i already got a gist of who is going to do die because of all the leaks on my tl 😭😭 but yeah i always see jjk accounts complain on tl about how the series is starting to become shit and how they hope the ending is going to be worse than mha or smth? i’m still not caught up enough and have not read the manga to know what they’re talking about plsss
but omg clockkk i feel like jjk has kinda lost its plot from what i’ve seen, like the whole point of the story is supposed to be yuji centered yet it isn’t and gojo has become the main character (which not like i’m complaining but still) i feel like maybe that’s why gege ***** gojo because he was starting to become the identity of jjk, idfkkk man gege confuses me
SOOOO MANY CHARACTERS ARE MISINTERPRETED like pmg i saw someone get onto megumi and portray him as some heartless villain like what is even going on atp 😭😭 THESE ARE 17 YEAR OLD BOYS WHO WERE THROWN INTO A LIFE FULL OF DANGER HAVE SOME COMPASSION…
see i never finished aot (was gonna wait for it to fully finish but i also heard the ending was ass?) and neither have i watched mha (head bad stuff about that) so i can’t comment on either but from what i remember aots who theme revolves around politics especially in the latter seasons 😭 YOU NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM DUDEBROS PLSSS they think they know everything and are genuinely so insufferable

Sorry not to be that person but as someone who’s really interested in Tojis character there is a huge difference between k wording yourself in front of your child because why not vs. Im doing this because im glad. Toji’s words are super important and misinterpreted, when he says the words “Good for you” is like a relief his child wasn’t sold off to the family that abused him all because he didn’t have a curse technique. Any man in the zenin clan is bound to be a huge asshole and I personally wouldn’t want that at all. His words “this place is useless for someone like me” just goes to show how he knows damn well he can’t be a father even if he tried. Tojis an apologized character not because of his looks but because of his past trauma. Obviously it doesn’t make him a better person but his writing is good and Gege played his character out well to show how Maki and him are like parallels. Toji did care about Megumi but to an extent Megumis mom was a big play out on how much she really changed that man. Also Megumi still doesn’t know who his dad even is BUT HATE HIM ALL U WANT BECUZZZ he is a villain after all
NO I GET WHY HE DID IT, I’m just saying like the action itself was still a cruel thing to do.
I don’t like toji because I think he’s a bit overhyped but I will recognise a greatly written character and I do acknowledge he’s well written and he’s in my top 5 well written characters.
And I don’t hate him bc he’s a villan😭 almost all my fave characters are villans so that’ll be hypocritical, I just don’t see the hype around his looks im not into hella muscually men like him so I don’t see the appeal
I just used him as an example because essentially everything happening in jjk was his fault from the moment he met gojo and geto. He’s a huge plot point to the story and he is a villan but nobody cares that he is one, but they care about mahito and his actions and hate anyone that likes him
I just hate the huge double standard because villans are villans. Mahito isn’t any better than sukuna or toji or any of the other villans in the show but people always refuse to see mahitos writing and his point in the plot and just go straight to hating him bc he killed ur faves
Idc if people hate mahito, I know WHY people hate him and I understand that. I just hate how different he is treated compared other villans simply bc of his looks

Anon said: Hi I hope u don't mind but I was wondering if I could get your opinion on JJK??? Do u like where the story is going & how r u enjoying jjk so far? Is there anything u dislike or have any nitpicks about jjk? Is there anything, if u could, change about jjk? Is there any characters u don't particularly care for or don't like? Sorry to bombard u with sooo many questions I'm just really curious about ur opinion >w<
OH I don’t mind the question at all! Though let me be clear right now that this is going to be a completely subjective answer and also that it’s going to be heavy with spoilers.
Okay, first things first, if I had to give jjk a general vote on a scale from 1 to 10 it’d be a 8, and that’s only because I read the prequel too! Right after catching up with the manga without any knowledge of the prequel’s existence it was a 7, barely (since Gege tends to treat the prequel in the main story as if you’re supposed to know about it, with all the mentions of Yuuta and Geto and stuff, but then never tells you anywhere in the manga that you were supposed to read it? Or that it exists at all? It even has a different name than the main story! I read the manga with the serious feeling that I was missing something, which I was and no one told me. Didn’t like that very much, ngl).
I still enjoyed it greatly and binged it all in a day and a half, but, you know, I’ve never thought it a perfect story. Am I enjoying how it is and where it’s going? Yeah, yeah, immensely! I adore it, really, if my drawing it 24/7 for the past over half a year wasn’t proof enough 😂 but it tends to go too fast at times for my tastes, it isn’t especially good at exposition and has confused the everloving hell out of me more than just once. Also it’s chokefull with stuff you’d call foreshadowing that ends up meaning nothing at all in the end and that’s, like, something I wish Gege didn’t do since I tend to overthink these kind of things and then feel disappointed when nothing comes out of it 😂😂 that’s on me tho.
If I had to change anything about it.................no, nothing, I’m good with how it is. Like, it has a lot of problems, definitely, but it wouldn’t be the jjk I fell in love with if it was anything else. Do I think everyone will die by the end of it? Yeah. Am I sad some characters already have died? Very much so. I’m still good with how it is tho, it’s just how jjk is. What else...uhhhhhh right, the characters! I don’t have any I especially dislike or hate aside from Mahito, which I just can’t stand sorry Mahito stans he just isn’t my cup of tea at all 😂 I do have characters I don’t particularly care about, like... Ichiji? For example, or Kusakabe, or most of the Kyoto kids (even Kokichi and Mai only became characters I liked after they died tbh, aside from Miwa and Kamo I’m not particularly into any of them). I haveeeeeee mixed feelings about Yuki, but only cause I feel she outright used Geto’s kind heart and depression to reach her own goals in a way that felt a lot like just an experiment for a theory she had, and I live and die for Geto so you can see why I would resent her for this 😂 but other than that she’s pretty cool, so I’m on the fence with her (again, sorry Yuki stans, I don’t have anything against you all 🙏)
That’s it! Overall I love jjk and I’m fully on for the ride, but I wouldn’t lie to anyone and call it perfect 😂 it’s better tho, I like stories that can fail me and have in the past failed me more, I’m more relaxed while reading them
Anon said: hey Fran!! quick question, are you a self taught artist or did you take any classes? hope ur doing well!— ^^
Self taught! As I’m sure anyone who studied art can easily tell  😂 I do my best with the resources I have 💪 I hope you’re doing well too!!!
Anon said: i also struggled with csm in the beginning, but idk after a few chapters i got into the mood and style of humor and now, after finishing it, i think about it all the time 👁 cant wait for you to see the show and if you end up liking it <3 also; ur art is everything!! whatever you draw, it gives me so much serotonin
Ahhhh I hope so I hope so!!!! I want to like it so bad, the art for it are absolutely incredible I wanna enjoy them properly!! 😭 And thank you so so much!!!!!! 💕

For naoya, do you ever think that him and Blue Ball Queen (lol) would ever change? are they (or just he) too far gone for anything past hatefucking? Idk, we barely know anything about him so ig it's hard to say, but I'm just curious as to how you'd navigate their relationship within the context of ur fics. also ur fics are so good, thank you for doing god's work !!
related drabbles for anyone who hasn’t read them yet
First, thank you so much!!! I’m glad you enjoy them! And then, like you say, it’s hard to know for sure without knowing more about his character in the manga. I figure it goes one of two ways:
1. If Naoya stays the same as he is now and doesn’t have any proper character development and change his ways then there’s no way him and the Blue Ball Queen move past hate fucking. She has no patience for any of the shit that comes out of his mouth and doesn’t see any value in him besides his dick. I think maybe on his end he might start to want more, but not out of any sort of sentimental attachment. It would purely be based on how he slowly starts to see her more and more as his property, no matter how much she tries to deny it.
2. If there is some sort of character development (which I imagine would have to include him relinquishing his claim to the title of clan head) and realizing what a dick he is, then maybe he goes to her for some sort of comfort or to hear the truth from her about what she really sees when she looks at him. And he’s just so pathetic that MC can’t help but pity him. She happens to be in a good mood and she lets him into her apartment and orders in food. He complains about how cheap it is (because some things never change) but she shuts him up with one withering glare. Then they have a long conversation that she don’t want to be apart of but she’s not that much of a bitch that she’d turn her back on the guy she’s been fucking for almost a year. This ends up being the first meal they’ve ever properly shared and he ends up spending the night, another first for them.
I’m not sure what Gege has in store for us and Naoya, but I don’t doubt it’ll be interesting. Even for his villains, Gege always does a really good job of explaining their motivations or giving us insight into their backstories. So, even if he doesn’t really progress beyond a misogynistic asshole who’s hungry for power and status, I’m sure we’ll get a good glimpse into his history.
FWIW, I know we’re having a lot of fun thirsting over Naoya and talking about how much we want to serve him (and boy, do I want to serve him 🥵), but for the second scenario to happen and for him to move on from being a well-developed character and antagonist to a character with proper character development and a redemption arc will take a lot. An interesting backstory isn’t enough to excuse the shit that comes out of his mouth and what he believes.
I think an example like this (on a much smaller scale) would be Noritoshi. He starts as a pawn of Gakuganji who wants to do his duty, which he’s told is to kill Yuuji. But then we get a glimpse into his backstory with his mother and why he was made heir of the Kamo clan and that makes him a well-developed and interesting character who acts kinda like an antagonist. But he redeems himself by standing with the Tokyo students and coming with the Kyoto students to Yuuji’s aid during the Shibuya Incident.
Of course, Naoya would really need to do a lot to redeem himself for all the shitty things he’s done in just this half chapter let alone whatever he’s going to do and has already done before 138. So it just depends on whether Gege wants him to be a well-developed character or a well-developed character with a redemption arc,
I know this is a lot for such a small question and a lot of what ifs for a character who was just introduced, so sorry 😅 I just couldn’t help myself!
TL;DR the only way they move past hate fucking is if Naoya has a come to Jesus moment and realizes how wrong he’s been this entire time and actually does something to redeem himself.

hi! i just saw ur tier post and i’d love to hear more abt why you feel like gege doesn’t care about his characters/gen /nm. i genuinely love jjk so much, but this current arc (after shibuya) is kinda… idk. i’m not loving it but maybe that’s cus i’m not understanding it, however i don’t feel as “harshly” towards it as u do. it’s very interesting to see ur opinion though, i love discussing things like this.
as for bnha… i am very close to dropping it entirely. i’m anime only, so i cannot judge what’s going on in the manga, but how i don’t like how it’s currently going at all. the pacing is fucking awful. the entirety of s5 feels like a filler to me, i haven’t made it past ep9 bc it’s just so boring to me. i feel like for the last two seasons (so szn 4 and 5) nothing has REALLY happened. and ik that’s not true bc of all the stuff that happened with eri and overhaul, but it feels like nothing’s happened. and it saddens me because i grew really attached to the characters but i’m not sure i can continue the anime if it continues like this.
im gonna put this under a cut! please remember that these r my opinions and im not looking for a debate! we are just vibing here
it's pretty much confirmed that gege doesn't care about his characters cause he seems to hate so many of them. my biggest issue and why i feel this way / what confirmed this for me was personally naoya's death. i think after shibuya arc - watching shit hit the fan and seeing things progressively become worse was a pretty natural next step in the story
but the further we go into it, the more it feels like the story loses direction. it's tragedy for the sake of tragedy. it's hard for me to attach meaning to characters and their deaths when we really don't get a chance to garner feelings for their story in a way i feel is necessary.
i think the jjk story is heavily centered on despair - but to execute that, you have to display hope. despair exists in the absence of hope but if there's no hope at all than it's travesty for travesty sake
naoya is an asshole but the way he died was so... lackluster. his final moments were so pathetic and in my opinion uninteresting and i think that's a real shame because if he had a little more time, and wreaked a little more havoc - it could've been so cool. it didn't feel fleshed out to me and i think that's my issue with the story as a whole ig. a lot of the things i feel could be fleshed out really aren't
I DO LOVE JJK THO!! i love the characters and the concept and a good bit of the story, i just think more could be done yk
also with bnha - i don't particularly mind the slow pacing and i completely understand it being boring. a lot of people i know irl who are anime only have dropped it and i don't blame them!
if im not mistaken - this entire season will feel pretty empty up until the last few episodes if the anime tightly follows the manga. i wont tell you to watch though since i completely understand if you find it boring LMAO
in terms of shounen, the mha pacing is definitely not for anyone who enjoys more action heavy stories / plot heavy stories. i do think the story being so... boring right now though is 10000% on purpose because shit hits the fan very, very quickly.
i don't want to spoil anything for you since you are not reading the manga but i promise you things will not stay boring if you're curious. i think hks intent with the first few arcs was to demonstrate how uninteresting and calm things are before... shit happens!
shit will happen though and when it does, it's gonna be insane so it won't stay like this forever. in that case, it might not be worth dropping
given how the manga is im actually really grateful for how uneventful this season is genuinely. i almost wish things could continue like this forever

hi its me!!! :DDD your post about maki respecting mai's wishes and instead of discarding it decided to center her wish ("to get stronger") around it ("so that mai would have a place") is honestly so true? like i'm the middle child between my two idiot brothers but if theres something they want to do then who am i to stop them? if anything i should support them after all right? and the fact that this was something i thought of when thinking of the two even without realizing it is something i wholeheartedly love , like the episode that featured the two gave me so much feelings and i didnt know why until i realized it was because of the fact i was a sister and the fact that gege has captured that feeling between the twins so well and made that radiate in the audience amazes me so much like props to the man seriously.
(also have you seen the new update? gege sensei says he hates gojo but then why are you having characters looking like him then (the angel and the other choso-looking fella) fr gege-sensei if u miss the man that much then give him back along w nobara then smh)
anyways sorry for the big blob of text again i havent had the time to ramble bc my exams are like in the next next day so--jghdhjsgf pray for me my pea brain cannot w me rn anywho what do you think about satosugu? (like not just the ship but like their roles in the story, and etc.) I also might post a jjk meta about blessings and stuff once my exams are over bc i always thought it was interesting that instead of that humans instead have the ability to use cursed energy instead so uh look forward to that? kdfhsdjkf anyways bye ig kjdh
SO MUCH WUV FOR U thank u for sharing with me!!
jflkasj im not sure, i think its just gege and same face syndrome, he's like "yeah all bastards should look like this :D." he's valid tbh, gojou is a menace
did you see gege's comments on characters' valentine chocolates count like jlfksajf
i love satosugu!! its the thing that pulled me into jjk in fact. overpowered character who makes a fatal, unthinkable mistake that ends up pummeling the entire world into hell bc he's too gay - whats better than that? i end up liking the philosophy and the curses in jjk and how they relate to the common fear and other negative experience of regular people (the fear of the earth, the sea, of nature are obvious, but there is also mahito manifested from the hatred of other people, and kenjaku, presumably from the fear of the intellect, "curiosity kills the cat" etc etc ITS ALL SO INTERESTING) a lot more than satosugu, but i love them all and i can multitask!! (read: crying about more than one thing at once)
and yeah im looking forward to your meta! i think gege might be onto something with never mentioning bless energy 👀 i wonder if it will make a pivotal point in the story??
good luck on ur tests!!

To the yunmeng siblings prompt: what's wwx reaction to his siblings basically running away to yiling to come see him(will they move in and not leave? Will they vist the say time lan zhan is and catch them on their date with ayuan?)
honestly i did not get that far . realistically i expect that shijie and jc will refuse to leave for a week, during which point a-yuan absolutely decides jc is his new favorite uncle and refuses to leave him alone
i think yanli will have to do this incredibly carefully because wwx obviously DOESNT want his siblings to have to do this but lets be real, if yanli were more of a real character, she’d see the burial mounds and her heart would break for all the people tehre who have suffered and nothing on this earth could get wwx to convince her that he can handle this like seriously wwx ur gonna tell YOUR SHIJIE not to CARE ABOUT PEOPLE nice try.
i think a big thing to play around would be 1) shijie not marrying jzx if this is going to continue (carefully so wwx doesnt blame himself, has to go a very ‘i would not want to cause these ppl suffering--’ route) and 2) a tactically thought-out argument about how jin guangshan is never going to give up hunting the seal and very much wants to be the next wen rouhan, things that wwx already knows but isn’t confronted with as much now, in the burial mounds. and 2.5) wwx isn’t willing to do anythign to put his siblings or the jiang sect at risk, thats WHY he removed himself FROM the jiang sect entirely, but if we play on the “no sect is safe, certainly not ours either” thing, it would really help . truthfully (and i haven’t read the book, so maybe its in there) but i never understood why more ppl besides like, nie mingjue, were just totally chill with their new wen rouhan?? like they JUST fought a war. this would be more understandable if it was five years down the road and people had gotten complacent but he’s really just out there being rich and evil.
jin zixuan shows up at the yiling inn after like, a week and a half, lol, like “yeah, you are right, my father is wrong and trying to destroy your family.” and he hasn’t told anyone where he’s going (except MAYBE his mother, who loves yanli more than anything and also hates her husband??) . he honestly MIGHT tell meng yao, but its very hard for me to find a way that this would work if meng yao knew, because meng yao at this point in time is really just only doing whatever his dad wants for hope of approval . maybe jzx has enough self-awareness to just not tell anyone.
yanli would not bring jzx to the burial mounds because everyone is understandably wary of him but a-yuan does see him and auntie yanlie in yiling on a grocery trip and promptly absolutely ADORES jzx . like jc is genuinely mad about how he’s been upstaged . lwj is furious that he’s no longer rich-gege . they bond over how furious they are that they’re no longer the kids favorite

Anon said: I miss your krbk sm 😔 No pressure intended!!!!!! I still love and support u and ur art!!!
Man I miss them too!!!!! @ hori when are you bringing my loves back from the war I’m here waiting good sir!!!
Anon said: v v curious on your thoughts on what’s currently going on in bnha manga :)))
HMMM what are my thoughts on it? Well, let’s split it in two: Deku’s side and Todoroki’s side, because that’s how it’s split in my brain atm, and allow me to start from the second because it’s easier to get through for me
I’m in love with everything Hori is doing with Todoroki and everyone involved with him - that’s to say his whole whole family and Hawks and Jeanist too, all of it, I’m so into it it’s no joke at all. Always been in love with how he handles Enji’s character and his interactions with his family and the latest developments didn’t disappoint me at all, wasn’t very much into Dabi right after the “reveal” but the more I think about it and about the story from his pov the more behind it I am, forever and always head over heels for Shouto’s way of dealing with a situation that’s as complex as one would expect from a protagonist of their very own story you could really make a manga out of the Todoroki’s family plot from Shouto’s pov alone, it’s incredible I can’t state how in love with it all I am enough. And Hawks, don’t make me start on him I’ll straight up never stop, absolutely and most definitely my favorite pro-hero I would trust him with my money and my kids 100/10 just assume I’m constantly crying over him. Also Jeanist is just hilarious so bless him and his presence in an otherwise too heavy story
Deku’s side........ well, the main problems I have with it are that one, I don’t really understant the need to keep ofa a secret from the class for the biggest part of the story when the reveal wasn’t forced upon Deku, didn’t have a huge impact on him or his relationship with the others (his leaving wasn’t directly caused by him coming clean after all, he wouldn’t have had to leave earlier had he not kept it a secret and he would have still left at this point had the class already known all along) and didn’t, like. Matter. All that much. Two, this manga is called my hero academia and I’m genuinely starting to wonder why. What was the point of all the arcs set inside the school anyway? Most of the characters growth (Deku’s especially) and the progression of the main plot happened in the arcs outside of the school anyway, and at this point it’s clear we’re not going back to the school after this or even seeing anyone graduate. What of Shinsou? What was the point of his plot when we’re not even gonna see him being active part of the class in a school environment? I’m just confused about it all, I guess. Three, which is really my biggest problem with it all, is the way Deku’s set on saving Shigaraki. It’s not like I don’t like a story in which all the villains are saved and the good guys win and love prevails and all that, call it corny but they’re exactly my type of stories, but I’m not sure I can get behind it when Twice died like that, and Midnight did as well, and Aizawa lost a leg, and Nighteye died, and Hawks might have lost his wings, and Shirakumo ended up Kurogiri and it’s still unclear whether he can be saved, like... why does Shigaraki get to be saved when so many people suffered like that? And it’s not only about them suffering by his hands, it’s about Hori and how he was ruthless with so many characters but lets the story show arbitrary kindness to Shigaraki alone, it’s all... well. Unfair. The way I see it. At this point I at the very least expect kindness for Touya as well, here.
That said if I pick the chapters one by one by themselves I do enjoy them very much. I just don’t gotta think about the big picture lmao AH but it’s all a personal opinion, of course! I know people who enjoy the way the story is going and I can see where they’re coming from, this is all arbitrary tastes and preferences on my part, I’m aware of it!
Anon said: Hi hi! I finally got into jjk AND finally caught up on the manga and i appreciate your doods soooo much more now!! They’re so great!! But imcurious, is there one specific moment in the story where you Gojo and Geto became IT for you? Just genuinely curious!!
THANK YOU happy to hear you liked jjk!!!! And that’s!!! a great question, I’m not sure I have an answer actually? I binged the manga in a day and a half, you see, and when I binge stuff that fast I rarely stop to overthink things - I did ship them as I read too since, well. They’re in love lmao but I shipped them in the same way I shipped itafushi or yuutoge after I read the prequel, you know? Just a general aknowledging of how good they were together. The main point with satosugu specifically was probably that satoru has been my favorite character since the beginning of the story and suguru got there as well as soon as I read their backstory, so once I was caught up they’re the ones I ended up spending the most time thinking about, both by themselves and together, and that ended up making me a bit obsessed..... just a bit lol
If I had to give one specific moment that got me by the heart and squeezed the hardest it’d be... probably Satoru’s “my soul knows otherwise”. And the way his voice alone could bring Suguru back, even for just a single moment. The thing about satosugu for me!!! one of the many things about them, but the main thing for me, is that they love each other. Be it platonic or however you wanna see it, they love each other. Despite everything and after it all, even if Satoru had to kill Suguru, even if Suguru killed so many and betrayed Satoru and they went their separate ways in the harshest of ways, they love each other. It’s insane, isn’t it? That they’d love each other so much they could pass over everything and anything. I’ve seen the “best friends become enemies” trope so often in shounen manga, but this is the first time I see it treated like this - with love so strong that they never blamed each other or turned that love in hate. The way satosugu do it is all-encompassing! It goes beyond the world and their differences and death itself! So if I had to pick it’d be that one, because that scene happens after it’s all over, and it all went to shit and way beyond too already, and still their souls resonate with each other and answer to each other and that sends me insane, just thinking about it. Like, god, they really still love each other. Satoru’s mourned for Suguru for a year, Suguru’s been dead for a year, they’d been separated ten whole years before then, and still! And still!!! It’s so tender I don’t know how to deal with it
Anon said: “What’s a god to a nonbeliever?”—That tag is going to haunt me for a while. The entire tag section for your latest Gojo and Geto drawing is meta-worthy.
THANK YOU it’d been eating at my brain I had to write it down somewhere why are those two like that
Anon said: Do you take commissions? No pressure! ✨❤️
Not right now!
Anon said: How do you feel about sukuna ? like/dislike or thoughts on him
AMAZING QUESTION I love him. I have absolutely zero clue as of why so don’t ask me to elaborate, I’m literally that marge pic with the potato when it’s about Sukuna, I have no meta thoughts about him nor deep reasonings behind it - by all accounts, I should dislike him! But he shows up and I’m like nghhh king, so that’s where we stand. It’s Sukuna, you know. I just think he’s neat.
Anon said: sighs time to get into another fandom bc i simp too hard for ur art 😔
HAH thank you for the trust I hope you’ll like ror if you do get into it!!! hahaha
