I really liked this event

As a whole this event was good. It still was more setup for plot rather than concluding the plot, but for the conclusions we did get I liked it.

Mordred and Arthur's reveal of their true parentage was done with enough weight that the characters actually cared about it, but it didn't linger super heavily on it which is great considering anyone who's kept up with the DK lore basically already knew this information.

The character interactions were great. I especially loved Vane and Arthur's interactions. Their two people who a struggling with the fact that everything that they knew and held dear has bascially been thrown into upheveal and both barely have had any time to process it.

It just cements to me the idea of that Vane's is going to be the next DK Grand because his feelings about his own inadequacy and his desire to protect the people he loves especially when in his eyes. Vane has already failed his little chickadees. It all just screams impending power-up soon.

It's been noticeable for a while been both Lone Wolf's Passing and The Lion Stirs have really noticeable improvement to the forced story fights. The Cut in's and visual flairs added help make the fights was more engaging while we're doing the usual routine of clicking button and clicking attack button.

Finger on the Pulse

Angst and pain only, Gawain feeling anxiety again, slight body horror?

A plainer banner cuz it didn't fit the fic... couldn't sleep and vomited this out!

Thump. Thump. Thump.

It's still there. 

Gawain sighs in relief.

He knows it was too much… he knows it was all in his head… but the thought of it happening mortifies him to no end.

“Can't we just… fill it up to the brim? Then we don't have to water them every morning.”

“What are you, crazy? It's gonna die if you do that.”

Gawain didn't intend to listen in on his crewmate's conversation. He just happened to be resting in the lounge where Feather and Randall were forced to tend to the potted plants for a week as atonement for causing a food fight that afternoon.

He honestly wished he didn't. If he were more aware of how vulnerable his mental state was, maybe their words wouldn't have sunken into the deepest corners of his mind.

“Don't plants, like, need a ton of water and sun to grow? What's the problem with giving them extra ahead of time?”

“You can't just do that, it's gonna overwhelm the damn thing! It's a dainty little plant, it can't take in all of that at once. The roots will literally rot out.”

Hearing those words, the horrific image flashed through his mind again. Blood left his face as he abruptly stood up, exiting the room in a hurry.

He insisted on holding your hand ever since. He never told you his reason, and it wasn't because he didn't want to cause you worry; he simply could not verbally communicate it. He said it was just a new routine for the two of you that he would like to have - nothing more, and you luckily took his word for it. In truth, he was so afraid of what was plaguing his mind, that he felt even speaking of it would manifest it into reality.

He wasn't strong enough.

So he continues to hold your hand as the both of you lay in bed, watching you drift to sleep each night. This was enough, he thought.

He doesn't blink as he stares at your sleeping face, checking for signs of… anything. Some nights, he gets too focused, almost forgetting to breathe doing so.

His hand held onto your wrist a little tighter, as if you would phase out of existence come morning if he didn't. 

Gawain has not noticed his sanity waning with each passing day. His mind was too much on you to remember himself.

…it's gonna overwhelm the damn thing!

…it can't take in all of that at once.

…will literally rot out…

You were unconscious, out of reach in front of him. In one moment, you were surging with unfathomable power - hair glowing white as if the heavens itself had blessed you.

But it was too much.

He watched your skin tear open, flesh ignited into flames as you made a nightmarish scream he prayed every waking hour of his day you would never make. Your sword fell before you did, twisting and kicking on the ground as you howled in pain.

The silver Astral raises his cold arm as the dark skies above them turn white, beams of light roaring down onto the earth as Gawain's hearing deafens and vision blinded - no longer able to hear your cries, no longer able to see your figure trying to crawl to him.

His paralysed body desperately tries to reach you. To shield you.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Thank the skies… thank the skies…

For months now, your pulse was the only thing capable of soothing him enough to sleep, haunted by the night terror to no end.

There have been times he looked at the rest of the crew as enemies because of it, times he had felt nothing but anger when the Supreme Primarch entered his field of vision, casually enjoying his cup of coffee alongside the other Primals. 

You didn't deserve the burden of the world, yet despite acknowledging the crew's help has been tremendous throughout your journey, a part of Gawain felt like the more power they lent you, the more you suffered.

He stares at your face again, forcing out the mangled corpse with the you that was asleep in front of him - intact, unharmed, safe.

He was too afraid to even kiss you for comfort. It reminded him of how his mother and father kissed him goodnight before he woke up to their deaths. What if that happened to you? Bahamut, he didn't want to chance it.

He focuses on the feeling of your pulse as he falls back to sleep.

You woke up to the knocking on your door. Lyria is excitedly waiting to go shopping at a newly opened bakery with you. What a silly girl.

But your smile fades as you glance over to your sleeping lover. He has been either distressed as he slept or jolting awake in cold sweats, something that's been occurring since probably five months back.

You didn't know what to do with this dilemma - it was like he was crumbling to ashes before you and you couldn't do anything to help him. Squeezing his hand, he seemed to relax just a little bit.

Gawain was fighting demons he didn't have the strength to look in the eye. You can only hope that one day, he finally reaches for your extended hand so you can pull him out of the state he was in.

For now, you pulled back the curtains, kissing his temple before joining Lyria; eliminating the darkness engulfing the room.

One day, you'll save him from the darkness engulfing his soul.

I think the set up for reading past whb event stories is fine for now....

But like in the future when they have like 50+ event stories theyre gonna have to have some type of ticket system or something

I started playing granblue fantasy re:link and I’ve been having a great time!! The gameplay is fun and the story is interesting enough thus far. I had no idea you could choose the gender of the main protagonist so that was a pleasant surprise. One of my biggest gripes though was her outfit at the beginning, like…idk on top of the whole “blue outfit for the guy, pink outfit for the girl” the girl’s outfit at the beginning could barely have been called an armor. I’m all for girls looking cute while fighting crime but the difference between hers and the male counterpart were too big to not notice.

However!!! I just started chapter 4 and the new armor they gave my character is muuuuuuch better! Actually looks more like armor and much more like an actual captain’s outfit instead of…a pink dress with shoulder armor.

Now I’m ready to kick more butt with this slick new look!! Can’t wait to see what happens next!! 😁😁

this tagline...T_^ thinks about how main story alrdy referenced other timelines such as boundary power captain & like all of the events currently on the anni page? isnt only the sara & cagliostro events missing? along with all the different jobs, like its ssooo cheesy but i alrdy rly loved that they rly do lean into the timeline thing with 'everyone experiences granblue differently', so seeing this...regardless of the intention of it
