hiya! big fan of handplates (and i love vargas too :3), you did such an amazing job on the whole story, wrapped it up in a rare, satisfying way. you don't have to answer this, but i was looking for a post where you mentioned gaster's sign names for various people - i think toriel and asgore had queen/king involved, alphys maybe the handshape a, etc. - but i can't find it anywhere. do you know where you've posted that, or anything else about gaster's signing? thanks for reading, have a nice day!

Asgore - A+King

Toriel - T+Queen

Alphys - A+Smart

Then I don't think he had ones for anyone else, he wasn't really very close to many people. It's kind of funny cause you only see him use Asgore's once, when he's begging him not to declare war. It's the only time he ever says his name if I remember right!

He uses Alphy's sign-name more often though, you can probably catch it in a few places but this one comes to mind immediately.

I don't think he ever used Toriel's though in the comic...

If he did get close to Undyne, he might use U+Spear or U+Strong for her, but I think it's unlikely they'd get that familiar. I can't picture him getting close enough to Mettaton to come up with a name for him. I think he just used formal titles for Asriel as well. He wouldn't refer to the kid as anything other than Human, haha.

(He doesn't have names for Sans and Papyrus since he can just say their names normally and they can understand him. :B)

The Cannibal is probably one of the most frightening Drakelich to have risen in these mountains and fields. Not only for his appearance, but his lack of distinction between meal and ally. The only exception is his brother, The Weaver. He's merciless, defensive, and an all out powerhouse of strength to make up for his lack of magical fire-breathing abilities that most Drakelich seem to have. The Cannibal is also one of the smartest and most observant of the riot, I've noticed. Yet, only when he chooses to be, like he knows something is not what it seems, but doesn't say a single thing. He's unpredictable in every sense of the word, despite his memory failing him and unexpected moments of disassociation. I fear he may know the truth of my shifting abilities, that I'm not completely dragon...and that I'm quite smitten with the monster.

Honestly for a while now I've always thoughts the most...interesting...evidence that Papyrus is Gaster is that it's implied Undertale Sans is from Deltarune, but in Deltarune he never calls Papyrus by name--just says 'my brother' or 'my little brother'. The game implies it IS still Papyrus by distinctly referencing Bonetrousle, but why avoid showing Papyrus or even referring to him by name? Could it be that he's going by a different name right now...?

I found this fascinating post about Russian short names a long time ago and NOW I CAN FINALLY DO SOMETHING WITH IT basically Russian names can take different forms depending on how close you are to who you’re talking to. Heavy’s name is Mikhail (we don’t know his last name), and this is how Spy refers to him in the comics, while Heavy’s short name is Misha, which is used by his family. But the name forms can get even fluffier or more tender than that! I asked some Russian speakers on Twitter for options and they gave me a wide variety, so I just threw a bunch in here. |D Other options could be Mishutka, Mishula...

I’d imagine anything fluffier than Misha would be embarrassing for him, but Heavy appreciates the effort anyway. <3
