What to Expect on Your Daily Scuba Trip with Us

Get ready for an unforgettable day of diving with Red Sea College - The Original & Still the Best!

Here’s a snapshot of your day from start to finish:

1. Pickup Time: We’ll pick you up from your accommodation between 07:00 and 08:00 am, depending on where you’re staying. On your first day, we’ll stop by our diving center to fit your rental equipment and introduce you to our team before heading to the jetty.

2. Travel to Dive Sites: Board our legendary, comfortable dive boat, Abu Gameel, and set off for the first dive site of the day. Enjoy scenic views as you get briefed by our dive instructors on the day’s plans and safety procedures.

3. First Dive: Arrive at the dive site and prepare for an underwater adventure. Dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea, exploring vibrant coral reefs and marine life under the guidance of our experienced dive team.

4. Surface Interval: After the first dive, enjoy a relaxing break on the boat. Rehydrate with water, soft drinks, coffee, or tea, and savor homemade cake while swapping diving stories with fellow adventurers.

5. Second Dive: After your Dive briefing, gear up for your second dive of the day at a different site. Discover even more of the Red Sea’s stunning underwater world, rich with marine species and spectacular landscapes.

6. Buffet Lunch: After dive two, dig into a delicious buffet lunch on board Abu Gameel. We offer a variety of fresh dishes, from salads and cooked vegetables to chicken, meat, pasta, and Egyptian rice. Let us know your dietary preferences in advance, and we’ll make sure you’re catered for!

7. Optional Third Dive: If you’re keen for more, we offer a third dive at a supplement, upon request. Just let our dive guides know if you’d like to extend your underwater adventure, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Never miss the third dive  - you might be disappointed!

8. Return and Debrief: We head back to shore. You can either return to your accommodation on our shuttle service or stay out and enjoy the evening.

Game Elements:

Feedback Systems: The player gets positive feedback with each level up. This game mostly focuses on positive feedback instead of negative or comparative feedback. It is found that positive feedback boosts motivation to play games whereas the latter risks future game plays (Burgers et al, 2015). • When the player collects enough points to level up, they get a message saying how they have progressed and contributed to the society. “Congrats! You are one step closer to making world a better place” • When the player go past a location of high global warming (For instance, Kellogg’s factory), they get notified by “Code red: High level of Global Warming”.

Game Elements:

According to McGonigal, all games regardless of their genre and platform have four characteristic traits. These four defining traits are known as goals, rules, voluntary participation and feedback system. Our game prototype is based on the concept of making people aware of Global Warming. We want to motivate people to take action and acknowledge how serious this issue is. In this game, each action can affect players in-game world. The game takes place in a world severely affected by global warming. With every level up, the sky gets clearer and the environment gets greener. The maximum level that the player can get to is the level where global warming is diminished to the extent that it is no more a threat to mankind.

Rules: Players need to choose an avatar. They can choose the name of their avatar and customize their characteristics like hairstyle, outfits, skin color, etc.  This is a location based game so the GPS needs to be on throughout the game. This game is about collecting points from activities you take part in throughout the day. The more points you collect, closer the player is to leveling up.  Failing to collect points will result in getting stuck at the same level. Some actions get more points than others. For instance, the player scans random things like fruit peels, used tissues, etc. in the scanner. Some of the objects may get more points like plastic. Similarly, The more items you throw in the bin, the more you score.  

Additionally, the players should be aware of their environment while playing this game. With every crash or injury, players lose points.

Today I cannot stop thinking about Jon in the kitchen, finally having the energy to make some proper mansef after so many years of being too exhausted to cook, singing in Arabic and completely unaware that Martin is watching.

It’s the most charming thing Martin has ever seen, and he immediately comes up with a plan.

On Jon’s birthday, he bakes a lovely little cake, decorated using the new skills he’s gained from community classes, and brings it in to where he’s sat Jon at the table. He starts to sing in carefully practiced words to the tune of “Happy Birthday”—

“Sana helwa ya gameel, sana helwa ya gameel, sana helwa ya Habibi...” and he stops, planting a kiss on Jon’s burning cheek—

And Jon doesn’t let him finish the song, pulling him in for a proper kiss then. The candles just drip wax onto the icing until they’re nearly burned away.
