Ana and I are visiting the vet tomorrow to see how her toe has healed this past week (two weeks? I've lost track of time). It will be interesting to see what they say, considering she's a master at escaping her bandage 🫣

I'm very thankful for the support you guys have given me since this accident, but we're not really out of the woods just yet. As I mentioned in my original post, we have tomorrow's visit plus, most likely, a third visit in another two to three weeks. Veterinary costs are expensive enough, but then we have the medicine she has to take on top of that, which insurance doesn't cover 😭

If there is room in your budget, I would very much appreciate if you could spare €5 (approximately 5 USD/4 GBP) or more to help me out with covering these costs 💜

Photos from today when she a) managed to "free" herself from her bandage just before our lunch walk, and b) made Greta Thunberg proud by prohibiting food waste in form of picking up a loaf of bread from the street before her "mean" owner could even react (said "mean" owner just accepted her faith and are now praying the bread wasn't bad or anything because she does not want to have to deal with diarrhoea)

Hi! Long time no post.

Life got very busy, and my mental health has also been terrible. Losing Sansa in 2021 broke me down, and it has taken almost 3 years to kind of feel better again. But then a month ago we had to put Fjalar down he was suffering and there were no other choice but i was the hardest decision of my life. So I am right back down in the darkness. I also had to stop my anti depressants🙃

I have the intention of very quickly recapping where I left in April 2022 until today because on Friday something exciting is happening that I want to post about in real time.

I do this for me, but if things I write are helpful or enjoyable for others, that is always a bonus!

This post is from May 2nd to July 3rd, 2022, but also some information to connect from where I left off in April 2022.

In May 2022, Bucky turned 1. We also did our 2 first confirmation competitions. They were unofficial for us to get a little bit of experience. He did amazing and got very good critiques. He is such a chill dog sleeping out in the open while we wait just his second ever show!

We also went to at least one lure coursing training during this period, but as the constant dog handler, I never get any good lure coursing or conformation pictures myself.

Bucky and Fjalar continue to be very good buddies🥰

(He wears a GPS if anyone was wondering what the thing on his collar is.) (I think right around here was when I gave up on having him loose he would not come reliably on recall so it was not an option anymore. He is very happy running aorund on his flexi and going to the dogpark to run.)

This is from a long time ago, before Fizz went to Canada and then came back, when I was looking after my mentor’s dogs whilst she was in London. Fizzgig and Luna always get on like a house on fire, it’s a shame that she lives in Manchester now.

Early May 2023

Me, my mom, Lennox and Bucky went to a conformation dog show in Hässleholm.

Buckys first and still only hotel stay. We are going back to the same place and competition this year May 2025. I was so happy that we had Lennox as mental support for my sensitive baby boy❤️

It makes me so happy that Bucky is always able to relax while we are away competing even when there is a lot of stuff going on in the environment.

We got very mixed results during the competition. The first day we got a very good with a very harsh and negative critique.

The second day, there was chaos. We arrived from the hotel with plenty of time left before our ring time as usual. When we got to the competition area we realised that all the parking lots were completely full and they were turning people away at the start of the driveway.

Luckily, we were two, so my mother dropped me and Bucky off so we could go in and claim a good spot ringside while she found parking.

I am a super anxious person, so I always pack the showing essentials separately, and I am always responsible for that bag, so I took it with me from the car when I got dropped off.

Me and Bucky started walking in, and when we got past the entry gate, I saw in our ring that was almost at the furthest point from the gate that there was a chart polski in our ring. I knew there was 1 chart polski and then Bucky. They were more than an hour before the ring schedule. Panic is hitting hard I started running like my life depended on it and we made it I had just enough time to put on my number and get the show lead on we got a reserve cert and Bucky handled the stress very well. Good boy❤️

Some other people in our breed missed out on being judged from them being so ahead of schedule. We were so worried and arrived so stupidly early for so long after that trauma.😅
