Additional Theories for Season 3
Hunter
Hunter will use a lightsaber
Omega and Hunter REAL HUG
Hunter finally discovers his purpose and resolves his arc
Hunter finally loses it and goes Joel Miller on everyone’s ass
Hunter will make riskier decisions since Omega isn’t around. He won’t be playing it safe. He might even make some morally questionable choices.
Hunter will have a hard time trusting Crosshair when he comes back to them.
Cad Bane and Hunter rematch (neither will lose/it will be a draw)
Fennec and Hunter banter
He will be the only main character to die (the more and more I hear about season 3 and the more I think about it, him being the only death besides Tech makes a lot of sense. They’ve been leading up to it a really long time)
He will tell Omega he loves her
He will hand off responsibility for Omega to Crosshair, showing that he finally trusts him again. Mutual forgiveness between them.
Omega will take his bandana/helmet
Tech
Tech will return in a way we don’t expect (if he returns at all)
Tech is not the mystery soldier
Tech’s goggles will have a tracker in them (put there by Hemlock. It will be how he finds Pabu)
The team will visibly struggle without him there
Lots of callbacks to Tech
Phee will be shown missing him
Crosshair
Crosshair will continue to struggle with decision making, Omega will serve as his conscience
He will struggle greatly with PTSD
He will reunite with his fam mid season
Crosshair and bros HUG
Crosshair will be sassy with his bros again
Crosshair will grow in his relationship with Omega
Sickest Crosshair sniping yet
He’ll compliment Omega on her shooting skills
Hunter will hand off caring for Omega to Crosshair (which will be such a great resolution to both of their arcs)
Wrecker
Wrecker will showcase more of his emotional intelligence
Wrecker will be desperate to not lose anymore of his family
He will blow up so many things
Wrecker more subdued/sad/thoughtful
Origins of Lula revealed
Either Lula is left with Omega or at Hunter’s grave
Echo
Echo will leave with Rex for good
He will get his handprint back (I’m thinking in the red blood of someone he loves this time…)
Echo finally gets a normal arm
Echo survives, fate unknown so he can be in other Star Wars content (Echo base etc)
Callback to Fives
Echo SURVIVES (he won’t die. They would be showing him in trailers much more if they were planning on killing him off)
Omega
Confirmation that she is Force Sensitive
Omega’s purpose revealed
Omega tied to Rey somehow (?)
Flashback of Omega meeting TBB as babies
Omega being strategic and getting herself and Cross out
She will have a bond with Emerie and change her for the better (like Omega always does. She just makes people better)
Ventress will take interest in her and vice versa
Omega will help resolve the tension between Crosshair and Hunter
She will survive to the end of the war. She will be in future Star Wars content.
Asajj Ventress
Asajj will force choke the boys (that’s a given)
She’ll probably flirt with them too
She will team up with the boys (after she tries to kill them first, and she will almost succeed because they honestly don’t stand a chance against her)
She will have a particular relationship/role to play with Omega
Quinlan Vos cameo (he will be with Asajj)
Others
Cody will return
Cody’s fate won’t be revealed in TBB so they can use him for other content
TBB get a dog
Flashbacks of TBB Clone Wars Era
One of the boys will actually cry actual tears
Someone will get a life-threatening injury
Galen Erso appearance
More Director Krennic
Pabu will be compromised and destroyed
Pabu will be revealed to be Scarif
Bad Batch family shot mirroring that scene on the Kamino landing platform in Season 1
Force sensitive clones
Darth Vader cameo (albeit brief)
Nemec and Fireball will die
Fennec teams up with and leaves on good terms with the boys
Fennec gives the boys a hard time
Snoke reveal
Death Star references galore
Final Clone War/Uprising

There’s a quote from Brian David Gilbert from a video about Bowser that goes a “... military that is somewhat bloated, often antagonistic, and seems to be the only thing that the leadership cares about funding?” which describes the FO pretty well and identifies why people like Hux would struggle within it. If your skillset is essential to Military activity, it will be rewarded somewhat, but not in a way that actually recognizes any skills or values that could challenge the dominance of the Military.
Armitage Hux is, canonically, hyper intelligent and a good engineer. He built Starkiller, miniaturized Death Star tech, and invented hyperspace tracking within a very short window of time while also acting as a General. 1 of those would be a significant achievement in the Star Wars universe, and would have earned him a lot more recognition from the ship/weaponry community than what he got from Kylo or Snoke. I’m willing to bet he was also really good at project management and supply lines (building and moving materials around in enemy territory in the months leading up to Starkiller should have been nightmarish) and other development tasks that are paramount to these achievements. But he is just not as good in direct combat situations. He only uses physical force via his weapons and primarily uses subterfuge to achieve his goals, but this is not how the other 99% of the army could or should fight. This creates a paradox where he has to have authority (General position) in the FO because he is deeply necessary, but he also needs to be ridiculed because by the very nature of his work he challenges the dominant narrative. He makes people think about what they could be doing if they weren’t fighting the New Republic every 5 minutes.
Hux, by all accounts, should never have been a General from an operations perspective. He should have been Galen Erso, in a lab on a moon away from conflict. But the First Order can’t have any civilian-like members, because they only value military. So he gets trapped in the middle of this tension.
If he’d been taken away from his terrible Father before his teens, he probably would have just grown up to be a weird University professor who illegally mods ships and frames someone else when the police show up.
Something that strikes me while reading the sequel novelizations (let's face it, 100% because I'll take any Hux content I can get my pathetic fingers on) is that Armitage seems like he probably has a very rich inner fantasy. Of course, we don't get too in depth into any of this, but he obviously has some elaborate fantasies about getting revenge on those who wronged him or envisioning himself in possessions of greater power. There is even a remark that he has to make a mental effort not to fantasize at a particular moment that he wants to because he knows his thoughts will likely be read.
He is also annoyed/fearful of masks and generally dislikes not being able to see people. On the bridge, he looks around to try and get some gauge of how the officers around him feel, and it makes him uneasy because they all have expressionless faces. Hux is withholding of information from his reports to Pryde because he needs to see Pryd's reaction to certain news.
A lot of what he does is deliberately crafted to give the appearance of power and to hide his anxiety and insecurity. I think the fantasy helps him survive, because really, there is no escape for Armitage, and he never had a choice in this.
The old Imperial officers around him, like Peevy and Canady, know that he is not cut out for this, that he is in over his head, and won't last.
I wonder how differently he would have turned out if he hadn't been isolated and forced into something he clearly wasn't cut out for. He is smart enough to make it this far, but it cost him everything.
He did do a lot of awful stuff, but I'd REALLY like to see him given a chance to get away from the First Order and make his own way. Even if it is a life of hiding. I know it's too much to ask for, but a girl can dream.

Watching Star Wars as an Avenger must be funny because you've got:
Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight and Poe Dameron
Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Padme Amidala
Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos and Vision/Jarvis
Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia and Maz Kanata
Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Mace Windu
Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso and Kaecillus
Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Keller, and Orson Krennic
Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May and Fennec Shand
Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Aaron Davis
Andy Serkis as Snoke and Ulysses Klaue
Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Zuri
Hannah John-Kamen as a minor role in Force Awakens and as Ava Starr
Benicio del Toro as DJ and the Collector
Richard Armitage as a Naboo pilot and Hydra assassin
Jon Favreau as Rio Durant, Pre Vizsla, Paz Vizsla, and Happy Hogan
Stellan Skarsgard as a future character and Erik Selvig
Richard E Grant in the First Order and Classic Loki
Cailey Fleming as young Rey and young Sylvie
Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Claire Temple
Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra and a future character
Not all of them are obvious, but sometimes just hearing a voice or seeing a background character makes me wonder where I once saw someone, so I included minor characters and voice acting. But do they ever just turn on a movie and are like, "Hey, she kind of looks like the Cavalry, right?"

We Didn't Start the Empire parody lyrics
By Ames
In our celebration to wrap up all the Star Wars films in A Star to Steer Her By’s recent Shore Leave compilation, Ames went way out of her way to write up a full song parody. You know, for reasons. Welcome to: “We Didn’t Start the Empire”.
Here’s the official Billy Joel song “We Didn’t Start the Fire” to credit the artist and get a feel for the tune. You can listen to our parody at the end of our The Force Awakens episode here (song stuff starts at about 2:18:20), and follow along with the lyrics below! Sing along! Karaoke it with friends! Appreciate the meter in ways that will become a fixation! Rock and roller, cola wars, I can't take it anymore!

Thought Experiment. Part 1.
or “How would I have done it”
So The Sith Resurgence is a petty bashfic driven purely by a desire to spit in the face of canon, but specifically ReyLo Shippers, specifically the Kylo Ren/Ben Solo lovers of the ship. The plot is hollow, the only characters given any consideration of depth are the romantic leads making the supporting characters even more bereft of substance. and in trying to fix certain things with in the canon it somehow has even less than canon
What does a good version of this look like?
“Course Correction”
So lets start with an easy version of this question. The story is sitting at 35 chapters as of my writing this section of the essay.
Lets say Hypothetically Lily Orchard reached out to me to outline the final arc for the story. How would I do that?
So as of the end of chapter 35 these things happen
Kylo Ren is intending to fake the return of Emperor Palpatine.
Aliana and Rey have just gotten married
Rey’s growth in power has been climbing and causing concern among her friends for her safety.
The First Order know the location of the Resistance’s new base after they survived the events of episode 8
There is still some sort of conflict between Aliana, Rey, and Leia.
Kylo Ren is Angling towards setting up the fall of the republic.
Rey and Aliana are sent to Nathema reinforce the extraction of child recruits from The First Order.
I’m missing something I’m sure, but we’re moving forward from these points.
Chapter 36 begins with Aliana and Rey arriving on Nathema, They do the fighting, clear out the base, begin the evacuations and save a bunch of children. During this The Message is sent out to all First Order bases. The Emperor has returned from the dead.
On Nathema The Message arriving causes a shift in the morale of the fighting and while Rey and Aliana make it out in time along with any resistance back up they had, but everyone is ratttled.
in spite of that Aliana is basically no-selling the threat of The Emperor’s return. and while Rey is also nervous about it Aliana assuages those fears by explaining that, that wasn’t Palpatine at all. Because there was no shock in the force. If Darth Sidious had cheated death, it would have been something everyone force sensitive could have felt, and would have been felt long before the emperor even composed the message.
And so Chapter 36 ends
Chapter 37
With the force bond having been unblocked Kylo Ren was able to detect Rey had left the Resistance base. And in an impulse chose to personally lead an attack on the base. During this he made sure to have The Message from The Emperor sent out
During the attack a lot of casualties occur, but The Core Cast srvives but the big casualty is that Kylo Ren slashed a path through and took out his mother.
the rest of the story is trying to recuperate and then convey that Palpatine’s message was fabricated as propaganda.
during all this it’s decided amongst the remaining resistance that when they make the retaliatory strike it has to be the final blow that sets off the collapse of the first order.
Chapter 38
Aliana and Rey train more, Rey start learning various Sith Techniques.
Captain Phasma leading the last remnants of The Knights of Ren reveal themselves to have been waiting in hiding, they’re further accompanied by a collection of bounty hunters aiming to overwhelm the jedi and the sith through sheer numbers and power.
It is not an easy fight but Phasma’s attack force is defeated and the captain is forced to retreat as one of the sole survivors of this attack. The victory is owed in both to Rey and Aliana’s capabilities as a unit as well as Finn and the remaining Resistance assisting where it counts.
--
Kylo Ren is continuing his own private solo training and has found a collection of sith holocrons in Snokes original private quarters that have aided in honing his skills..
The First Order itself has made an order for all forces across the galaxy to return to the original coordinates of Star Killer Base.
once the full force of The First Order arrives in one place the plan is revealed that they intend to pull a full final assault on The Republic, intent to basically glass the surface of Corruscant.
Chapter 39
The First Order again.
They are preparted to set out only to find themselves faced with The Resistance and The Sith Fleet having arrived to make their own final attack.
The fight begins
During all this Rey, Aliana, and friends infiltrate the lead ship with intent to find and eliminate the leaders of the first order.
The eventual final confrontation between Kylo Ren, Aliana, and Rey happens.
And Then everythings for a moment as hundred of thousands of Imperial Star Destroyers warp in from nowhere. And start attacking both sides.
A mesage relayed across all channels.
Emperor Palpatine is actually somehow alive, and has arrived to reclaim control of his fleet.
Chapter 40
Emperor Palpatine’s message is simple; he’s returned to take his throne as ruler of the galaxy. To the Resistance he demands surrender so that their deaths may be quick and merciful. To The First Order a message to stand down, declare fealty to him or die.
The entirety of the battle as far as the fleets go dissolves into chaos and immediately Rose and Holdo declare a fall back and as many people in the resistance get out, leaving the first order and imperial forces to engage in a massive civil war.
While this is happening Aliana and Rey are trying to gauge what to do while also fighting Kylo Ren, only for Kylo Ren to get shot in the back of the head by General Hux, who retreats to take his side with the empire.
Aliana and Rey spend the rest of the chapter escaping and being very very angry they were denied the catharsis of killing Kylo Ren
Chapter 41
everyone is panicking.
The resistance is down to their last legs and the entire galaxy is with little hope
meanwhile Hux and Phasma are called forth to see The Emperor personally. where it is explained that even in spite of the unifying desire to re-establish the empire the first order was not the entirety of the remaining imperial forced and some chose to quietly seek out planets known to be inhabited by the dark side of the force. during this a ritual was carried out to allow a suitable individual to become the vessel for the emperor. The Emperor is basically wearing full fitting body armor at all times. but basically he’s inhabiting the body of a Galen Marek clone.
Oh also Hux is executed, because the emperor saw what he did to Kylo Ren who was the acting supreme leader of the First Order, and so determined Hux to be not trustworthy.
The resistance are still having doubts to their abilities now that they’re low on forces. further faith in Aliana is wavering due to the whole “I’d know if the emperor was back” blowing up in her face.
However because Palpatines Message was delivered across the galaxy, and on all channels they get a message from The Senate that basically declares that they’re going all in on the resistance and fully endorsing them. planets from across all systems as well as former rebel alliance members are en route to bolster their forces. it is now a full scale war to snuff out The Imperial Remnant.
Chapter 42.
Aliana and Rey are declared high generals with only Holdo and Rose Tico holding equal authority to them
The Resistance manage to find the current whereabouts of the emperor.
They set out to finally put an end to his reign of terror once and for all.
Chapter 43
Rey, Aliana, and crew launch a strike on Emperor Palpatines personal cruiser.
It’s revealed that Palpatine has “resurrected” Kylo Ren. though no more than a puppet to act as an extention of Palpatines will.
The final fight for the fate of the galaxy and the right to be The one true sith lord begins.
Chapter 44
The fight happens.
Rey fights the husk of Kylo Ren, The final step in Rey Beniko’s empowerment, destroying and ending the life of her abuser, lamenting only in that the soul of kylo ren never occupied the husk so she couldn’t revel in the end of his pathetic existance.
Aliana and Palpatine fight, The right to call themselves the True and Rightful Sith Lord. Palpatine almost wins, even with the act of the fight becoming a one on two drag out brawl between the two lovers and the emperor.
However Galen Marek proper, and Finn arrive, and proceed to even the odds in a 4 on 1 fight.
As one last attempt at a moral blow is Palpatine reveals that somewhere along in the past he set up an arranged marriage with the Beniko line of sith lords something that had been set up several hundred of years back somewhere between lana and aliana’s grandmother. The suitor was a member of his bloodline which he says to be rey. And that in falling for one another they’ve played into his plans to the letter
Aliana, does not care. Murders palpatine, and as to whether or not he was telling the truth. No one cares about that either. taking it as an attempt to fuck with the both of them
Chapter 45
The story ends with the usual “where are they now”
Finn and Poe get married, Rey and Aliana adopt. under the leadership of Holdo and Rose The Resistance slides back into being the officially backed “Rebel Alliance” hunting down the last remnants of the first order and the empire with the full scope of the republic military
The future for Force users is made a little more weird because the sith and the jedi are effectively the same thing trying with what ever opposes them being recognized as extremists of both sides
Somewhere the sole remnants of the first order and empire gather quietly to lick their wounds, lead by “Supreme Leaderl Phasma” as a potential sequel bait
The story ends with Rey and Aliana drinking wine. and a toast to the future.

Epilogue
Everything was fine in the apartment on Betterton Street on July 22nd.
The kettle was hissing in the kitchen, and Jessika got up from the couch to go fill the teapot.
She jostled Poe as she passed, who was slumped on the couch and whose legs had prevented her from leaving.
“Move over a little!” she grumbled, kicking his heel lightly.
“I can't move, princess, I'm too busy taking care of my boyfriend. Go around!” He retorted, hugging Finn's shoulder against him.
The two men sat cuddled together as if they were on a never-ending date. Which they were, actually. Ever since Finn left the hospital, Poe had been glued to him day and night. He would tell everyone that he previously thought he was going to lose the love of his life and he was so miserable that now he promised never to let go of him again. And up to now, he proved to be a man of his word.
Finn's right leg was still in a splint, his left arm in a cast. The bruises on his face were slowly fading, and he could smile again without wincing.
BB8 lay on the carpet, chewing on her ball. As for Rey, she occupied a plush armchair, newly upholstered with Madras plaid fabric and accented with reflective gold studs.
She bit her thumbnail nervously. Jessika put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
“Don't worry,” she said softly. “They’ll win.”
“I know they're going to win,” Rey whispered. “But him? What's going to happen to him?”
The television connected to Rey's laptop was streaming ABC7 online, broadcasting live from California.
The San Francisco courthouse took over the screen. Metal barriers and a volley of police prevented a group of demonstrators from approaching. The crowd was in an uproar, waving banners denouncing FORCE for endangering the Hoopa Valley Protected Reserve with an illegal mine.
That was only the tip of the iceberg, not that they knew it. Rey knew it, and her heart was racing. She wanted to cry.
She leapt up, recognizing Leia Skywalker as she approached, accompanied by Amilyn Holdo. Luke Skywalker trailed after them.
In the week since she’d returned to London, she’d had time to tell her friends the story. Maybe ten times, maybe even twenty times. Some things she’d left out, like the details of Ben’s past life. And other things she’d toned down, like the number of times he’d thoroughly fucked her. But overall, they now had a pretty good idea of what was at stake today.
A few minutes later, she watched as a stunted old man with yellowing skin emerged from an unmarked limousine, followed by a redhead in a very sharp suit. Next came their small army of lawyers, in a flurry of more ironed suits and massive briefcases.
Rey leaned forward, fingers clutching the armrests of her chair. Where was Ben Solo? She then spotted Mace Windu, who glared sharply at the cameras. And suddenly, Ben appeared. He wore a dark suit and tie, his face clean shaven, and his hand clutching a phone. The crowd made him visibly uncomfortable. Nervously, he ran his fingers through his hair and Rey let out a painful sigh. She wanted to run her fingers through his hair...
Everyone was holding their breath. Jessika had stopped pouring tea. The room was so quiet that Rey thought she could hear her own heartbeat.
She pulled out her phone, typing frantically.
On the screen, Ben Solo stopped ascending the courthouse stairs to check his phone.
Then he looked around, as if looking for someone in the crowd before looking directly at the camera. He smiled. Rey began to cry.
Jessika put the kettle down and came over to rub her shoulders.
“Come on, breathe. You sent him a sext, right? Looks like he enjoyed it, you temptress.”
It was 10 AM, at the edge of the world on the Pacific coast. 6 PM in London.
The night would be long.
The trial would not be shown on television, of course. The journalists circled outside the courthouse like vultures, hoping to glean the slightest bit of information. Rey might as well have gone to bed and come back the next day to watch a recap, or browse the internet for the verdict. But it would be a waste, because she could never go to sleep like this,
At three in the morning BB8 began to bark at the screen, startling Rey who had dozed off in her chair. Finn and Poe had been asleep for several hours already—Rey gave them her room because Finn's health demanded it. Jess was sleeping soundly on the sofa. Leia and Luke Skywalker emerged from the courtroom.
BB8 barked again, wagging her tail excitedly when Leia’s face appeared on the screen. Rey came to kneel beside her and turned up the volume.
The journalists held their microphones to Amylin Holdo, who was preparing to give a public address.
"A pivotal moment in the battle against FORCE," said the reporter in the foreground, "what was supposed to be a quick trial to determine the legality of opening a mine in Humboldt County has turned into a federal case involving the highest levels of the company. Whistleblower Galen Erso unveiled so much more than a fishy mining operation during the hearing, and is currently being questioned by the police. The trial has been suspended until justices can determine the veracity of the new details. Andrew Snoke and Armitage Hux were specifically singled out, with new charges of tax evasion, corruption, blackmail, kidnapping, battery and embezzlement against the duo. Police are looking for a warrant to search all of FORCE’s San Francisco offices. "
WHAT ABOUT BEN?
Rey groaned. This was pure torture. The journalist continued her speech, struggling to control her enthusiasm. She had obviously come to cover a non-event and found herself on top of the scoop of the century.
"The directors of FORCE each risk decades in prison as well as millions of dollars in fines and damages. The case could also have consequences for Governor Valorum and Justice Dopheld Mitaka, both of whom are also accused of corruption."
Suddenly, Ben’s face filled the screen.
All the butterflies in Rey's stomach took flight at the same time, and she struggled to breathe as her whole body trembled,
The screen then flipped to a still photograph of a fifty-something man she didn’t recognize. He had a straight nose and thinning hair, and looked very tired.
Words scrolled past at the bottom of the screen: “Ben Solo and Galen Erso, longtime employees of FORCE, work together to expose massive corruption scandal.”
Impossible!
Rey gasped aloud, waking her friend up. Jessika turned to the screen, rubbing her eyes.
“So what happened?” She mumbled
“Jess, he'll get away with it!”
She grabbed the remote and turned the sound up higher.
“Ben Solo-Skywalker, son of the plaintiff Leia Skywalker, represented by Mace Windu of the Boston Bar, had served on the FORCE Board of Directors since the beginning of his career. He and Armitage Hux met in Harvard and joined the company together. Reports say that FORCE funded the now-rockstar’s entire tuition because of his connections to Anakin and Padmé Skywalker, the original founders of the company. He was later swiftly promoted Director of Operations, where he took the pseudonym Kylo Ren, which also served as his stage name as the frontman of alternative rock band Kylo and the Knights of Ren. The group is originally from Denver, where Galen Erso also lived. The two men would go on to start a series of secret investigations to uncover what is shaping up to be a fraud scandal of unprecedented scale.”
Rey put down the remote.
Ben had never worked with Galen Erso, she knew enough to know that Galen had always been an Earth Soldiers spy. When she met Ben in Denver, he was still working for the First Order.
So he must have cut a deal with Holdo to gain a place in the story. But at what cost?
He must have loved the opportunity of turning on Hux, in testifying against him. But her questions remained.
Grabbing her phone, she typed a new message. Leia Skywalker's response came a few minutes later.
Ben protected Galen from FO agent Phasma. Really spared us a disaster. Some immunity in the works. Lots to do but all good. Take care of yourself and text me ok? Leia.
It wasn't all lies, then.
She typed out one final question.
What is he risking?
Ding.
For the old corruption cases, 3-6 months in prison. For other suspected crimes, house arrest with monitoring. Probably 2 years. Will keep you posted.
Rey exhaled.
Three to six months in prison. House arrest for two years. She had foolishly imagined showing him around London at Christmas. Her heart sank. Better late than never.
Within hours, her worst fears in life had dwindled to a matter of months without Ben. Everything would be fine.
Her phone chimed again, another message from Leia. She opened it immediately.
Don’t forget about conjugal visits ;-)

THE END
***
PS: what happened to the Knights of Ren?
Skylar is tied to a chair in the FORCE basement. Perhaps the police will find him there.
Saul, Shakti, Kelsi and Tyra are unemployed. But they have resources! Maybe Ben will have work for them and him when he gets out of jail?
Syed was unleashed into the wild with $20 and a Mars bar. And a kick in the butt.
and Phasma?
Ben Solo gave her the choice between 1) handing him the file and disappearing OR 2) going down with Hux and Snoke. She chose option 1. Maybe she’ll be able to play dominoes with Syed at their secret Nebraska hideout, until things settle down?

“Take my bed tonight. I’ll sleep on the couch.” For whoever you're vibing with right now for that one. :3c
Prompt me! | Read on AO3
(I went with Kylux because of course I did lmao)
It’s not as though Hux had been asleep in the first place, but the late-night interruption isn’t any more appreciated for it. Snubbing out his cigarette with perhaps more force than necessary, he pushes away from his desk and quickly strides over to the door to his quarters. Punching in his personal code allows him to unlock the door to find… Kylo Ren. Although Snoke’s apprentice is wearing his ridiculous mask, Hux can still tell that Kylo had given him a quick once over.
“Nice robe,” he says.
“What do you want, Ren? Some of us are busy,” Hux says impatiently, ignoring the jab. “And since when did you get back from your training?”
After the destruction of Starkiller Base, Snoke had whisked Kylo away for some specialized training. Or punishment. Likely both, Hux suspects. Their Supreme Leader hadn’t even deigned to inform Hux where Kylo would be and how long he would be gone. Not that it was technically any of his business or all that important in his day-to-day work. Still, Hux had been… curious. That’s as much as he was willing to admit to.
“…I’ve only just returned,” Kylo says at last.
“And you’ve decided to drop in on me at such a convenient hour because…?” Hux queries, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
Kylo has remained eerily silent in response to Hux’s question. He simply hovers in the doorway, only the modulated sound of his breathing reaching Hux’s ears. The general waits for him to say something. Anything. When it becomes apparent that Kylo doesn’t intend on answering him—or perhaps can’t think of anything to say—Hux scoffs and steps aside, allowing him space to enter.
“You may as well come inside while you think of whatever it is you need to say,” Hux says. “I’m not getting any work done just standing here.”
He walks back into his quarters, hearing Kylo’s heavy footprints follow him. They stop somewhere in the center of the room as Hux resumes his seat at his desk.
“Shouldn’t you be sleeping?” Kylo asks.
“As I said, some of us are busy,” Hux says, laying out a set of blueprints. “If you’ll recall from our last meeting, you aren’t the only one our Supreme Leader was disappointed in following Starkiller Base.”
Kylo grunts and Hux hears the click and hiss that signifies his mask being removed. Good. Hux hates that thing. Kylo’s footsteps approach his desk and Hux does his best not to lose focus as the man’s towering frame looms over him. It’s a lot harder when Kylo’s hand comes crashing onto the desk beside him.
“What are you working on?” Kylo asks, leaning over his shoulder.
Hux tenses, startled by the sudden proximity, but clears his throat and squares his shoulders. “A hyperspace tracker.”
Kylo snorts in his ear. “It’s never been done. You think you’re going to be the one to do it?”
“As a matter of fact,” Hux says tersely, turning to meet his gaze, “I’m absolutely certain that I—”
Getting a good look at Kylo robs him of his words. The garish scar cutting up the right side of his face is nothing new. The dark smudges beneath his eyes and expression pinched with pain are.
“…am the only one capable,” Hux finishes lamely. “When was the last time you saw a bed?”
“Pretty sure it was when you were hovering over me because of troop morale or something,” Kylo quips.
His attitude may be as insufferable as ever, but Hux doesn’t allow it to cloud his vision. He can tell Kylo leaning on his desk was less of a choice and more of a necessity. He looks about half a minute from falling over, leaving Hux to make a decision he wouldn’t ordinarily make.
“Take my bed,” he says.
“What?” Kylo murmurs dumbly.
“I can’t have you passing out in my quarters. It would be highly inconvenient,” Hux informs him. “So, take my bed and get the sleep you obviously need. I’ll deal with laundering my sheets after you’ve left.”
“I don’t think you’re in any position to be telling anyone to get some sleep,” Kylo says.
“If I need to sleep—which I won’t—I’ll take the couch,” Hux says dismissively.
It says something that Kylo doesn’t even try to argue with him. Hux watches as his hand lifts from the desk and feels a weight as it shifts to the back of his chair. The fact that he needs to prop himself up just to stand makes Hux wonder exactly what kind of “training” Snoke had put him through. He’s never understood what sort of training being a Force user entails but judging by the condition Kylo is in whenever he returns from this training, maybe he doesn’t want to know the details. Kylo’s body flopping onto his bed is audible and Hux nearly snaps at him for being the brute that he is, but it will only start an argument that he doesn’t have time for.
Kylo hadn’t been entirely off the mark, Hux muses as he returns to his work. A working hyperspace tracker… it’s something he’d dreamed about for years but had never been able to devote the time to the venture. Now he doesn’t have much choice. Achieving where even the likes of Galen Erso had failed is more than daunting but Hux has never been one to back down when met with adversity. He’ll do whatever it takes to ensure his survival, to claw his way up to the top. Even the impossible.
He’s not fool enough to think Snoke couldn’t snuff him out in an instant if he wished. The fact is, Hux’s continued existence is contingent upon his usefulness. But that’s not anything new. Sloane, his father, Snoke… they’re all the same. None of them were interested in him or his potential unless they had something to gain from it. It was the way of the Empire and the way of the First Order.
But that’s fine. He’ll make them see. Just as he’s done in the past, anyone who stands in his way, anyone who has wronged him, they’ll be lucky if they live long enough to regret it.
“Hey.”
Hux lifts his head from his work and glances behind him. Kylo hasn’t raised himself from where he’s lying atop the bed—the animal hasn’t even pulled the covers back or changed out of his disgusting clothes.
“I didn’t invite you to take my bed with the purpose of making conversation,” Hux tells him.
“You should sleep, too,” Kylo says.
“I don’t need sleep,” Hux says, “I need to work. Uninterrupted.”
“You’ve read the same thing four times now,” Kylo says.
“What have I told you about reading my mind?” Hux hisses.
“It’s hard to ignore,” Kylo informs him. “You have the loudest thoughts of anyone I know.”
“Regardless,” Hux says, “your input isn’t needed. Unlike you, I have everything under control.”
“Let’s not sit here and pretend that we both don’t know that’s a lie,” Kylo says.
“How dare you…!”
Hux is on his feet and storming towards the bed before he even realizes, his vision colored red by the other man’s words. He’s not going to sit here and be insulted by some barbarian. This is what he gets for his moment of weakness, for allowing Kylo to worm his way in like this.
“You presume to have me figured out,” Hux barks, “but you know nothing about me.”
“You wanted to work together,” Kylo says, cutting him off before he can get any more worked up. “How are we supposed to do that if you pass out on the bridge?”
“As if I would,” Hux sneers.
“You will,” Kylo assures him. “At the rate you’re going… Your body can’t sustain it forever. Caf and stims might work in the short-term but, mighty as you think you are, you’re still human. You need sleep. I need sleep. Let’s just… just sleep.”
If Hux is being completely honest with himself, he’s too tired to argue. He needs to work but it’s clear he’s not going to get any done with Kylo around. And though he may sleep less than the average officer, Hux still needs to sleep sometime. That much is true. Being interrupted like this grates on his nerves, but there’s little he can do to help it. With an indignant huff, he marches off to his bathroom to wash up for the night.
He thinks of Kylo while he brushes his teeth. About dragging him from the snowy landscape of Starkiller Base as it collapsed around him. About squirreling him away so no one could see him and proceeding to sit at his bedside like some ridiculous watchdog. About the fact that Kylo always managed to somehow see straight through him and had seen through him then, too.
There’s blood in the sink when he spits.
Now that he’s committed to the idea of sleep, his body seems to be making an attempt to shut down operations as quickly as possible. He suddenly feels heavy as he fetches a spare blanket and pillow for himself. They feel like lead in his hands.
“You should sleep in your bed,” Kylo says, watching him toss the pillow onto the sofa.
“I can’t. You’re in it,” Hux reminds him.
“That doesn’t mean you can’t be, too,” Kylo says.
Hux narrows his eyes as his sluggish thoughts catch up to Kylo’s words. Kylo doesn’t want him to sleep on the couch, but clearly has no intention of sleeping on it either.
“Are you quite mad?” Hux demands.
“No. Just tired,” Kylo says. “Bed’s big enough.”
“I could throw you out right now,” Hux warns him.
“You could,” Kylo agrees.
Hux stands beside the sofa, glaring back at him. Kylo’s eyes aren’t even open to see it, but he somehow knows the Force user is aware of it all the same. There’s just no winning with this man.
“You’re impossible,” Hux mutters as he marches over to the bed.
Kylo hums faintly in response, rolling to his side and away from Hux as he sheds his robe and slips beneath the covers. Admittedly, Hux had missed the feeling of a bed. He’s fallen asleep at his desk too many times as of late. And the weight of the other man in his bed is… oddly comforting. It’s strange, considering he usually can’t tolerate this sort of closeness. Perhaps there’s something wrong with him. Or perhaps he really is in such dire need of sleep that it’s altering his perception.
“I like this working together thing,” Kylo says, as though reading his thoughts.
He probably is. The bastard. Just the idea is enough to warm his cheeks—the last thing he needs is Kylo getting any ridiculous ideas about where they stand with one another. Hux pulls the covers over his head.
“Shut up.”

Star Wars Avatar au
So Anakin/Vader was the avatar. He cane from an airbending family. Padme came from a prominent waterbending, but she was not a bender. Obi wan was an airbender as was Qui gon. Yoda was also an airbender. The jedi are like the white lotus, peacekeeping benders from across the galaxy. The sith are like the red lotus. The emperor was a firebender (primarily lightning) but taught Vader to bloodbend. Luke was born an airbender and Leia was a waterbender. Han was a non-bender.
Flash forward to the sequels, the avatar after Vader died without knowing their identity. Rey is born as the next avatar, but she doesn’t even know she can bend. Ben is born as a waterbender and taken by another powerful waterbender, Snoke, who teaches him blood bending. He’s sent to find Luke because they believe like knows how to find the avatar. Snoke wants to use the avatar to rule the galaxy. Kylo is upset that he isn’t because his master seems to care more about the avatar. Snoke also mocks him for having a nonbending father because it makes him weak. When he figures out Rey’s the avatar he becomes obsessed, but doesn’t tell Snoke. (Until the emperor is like, yeah I knew that) Ben does still fall for Rey.
Anyways, Poe is a hotshot firebender. Finn discovers he’s a waterbender. Rose is an earbender who’s sister taught her metalbending. Jannah is a waterbender and healer. Holdo was a nonbender. Zorri is a firebender. Lando is a nonbender.
(Fun ones: mando-firebender, Jyn-waterbender, Galen-earthbender, Cassian-firebender, chirrut-airbender, baze-earthbender, krenic-nonbender, saw-earthbender, bodhi-nonbender, qi’ra-firebender, Cara Dune-earthbender, greef-nonbender, kuiil-earthbender, the child-airbender)

SW Rey Theory - Legacy of Light - Chapter 26
< - Previous Chapter
Table of Contents - >
(10 and 11 years after Return of the Jedi)
Ashla stared numbly out the transparisteel glass of the Millennium Falcon as Nyx jumped the ship into hyperspace. It was strange to be back on this ship, but it felt good to be somewhere familiar again. She knew better than to be worried about her mom now, but she was tired of feeling guilty that her mom had to save her sorry butt. As if Ahsoka didn’t have enough to worry about, now she was causing her more trouble. One of these days she was going to get her killed, and that scared her. She bit her lip and glanced over at her uncle that she hadn’t seen for fifteen years. She’d been so lost in thought, she didn’t realize he was studying her. “What?”
“Nothing…” he looked away, brushing his long dark hair out of his eyes. He looked thinner than she remembered, and paler. Was he still drinking so much?
“Thank you for picking me up,” she said nervously, expecting him to be angry that he’d had to get involved with her again. She had no idea how her mom had found him and gotten here so fast, but she was grateful. “I don’t mean to cause you trouble.” He sighed and leaned his head back against the chair.
“You aren’t trouble, Ashla,” he murmured, closing his eyes. She wanted to ask him why that wasn’t what it felt like sometimes, but maybe it was better to let it go. She couldn’t remember the last time he was this quiet and not upset about something. She wondered what had changed since the last time she’d seen him. They’d kept in touch over the years, but not a lot was said about where they were or what they were doing. So the conversations were brief and sporadic. She’d missed him, despite knowing that he’d probably been happy to be rid of her after dropping her off at the enclave. “I’m sorry,” he said after awhile. “I should have taken better care of you.”
“Uncle Nyx…” tears welled up in her eyes and she hopped up to hug him. “You did take good care of me. I didn’t understand it before, but I do now. You were scared, and after what I’ve seen, I understand why.”
“But it was my job as your guardian to protect you and I didn’t,” he patted her awkwardly on the arm and she let go. She’d forgotten he wasn’t as openly affectionate as Rex had been.
“You can’t blame yourself.”
“But I do.” He stared at his feet. “When your mother showed up on my doorstep, I liked her right away. She gave me a hard time, pressuring me into letting her stay while I got beat up by thugs looking for some money I owed them. I don’t remember what all happened, but when I came to, they were gone and Ahsoka was standing over me offering to help me up. I never did figure out how she got rid of them, since there weren’t any cops nearby, but I was too grateful to care. After seeing the way she fought that guy back there, well… I guess I finally have an answer. Now I feel pretty foolish for all my rants to her about how much I hated Jedi. Without her help, I think my business would have tanked. She pulled me out of a bad place, kept debt collectors off my back and helped out around the shop. I was nervous about the future when she told me she was pregnant, I had no idea what to expect. Dealing with kids was not my forte. She was so patient with me, she let me help take care of you even though I wasn’t your father and I guess I fell in love with you a bit quicker than I wanted to admit to anyone.” He fell silent for awhile. She kept hoping he’d continue, but he didn’t.
“My mom said that even though leaving me behind was the hardest choice she ever had to make, she trusted you,” she smiled reassuringly at him.
“I don’t know why. I badmouthed her old life, I badmouthed your father, I even badmouthed her…”
She reached out and squeezed his hand. “Jedi can sense things. She knew that in your heart you were a good person and that you’d take care of me as if I were your own, and you did.” She tried to sit back down but felt something inside her and she almost missed the seat. “Whoa.”
“Are you alright?” he asked as she hunched back against the seat.
“Yeah, I'm just tired." She stared straight ahead wondering if it meant what she thought it did. She shook it off, she'd been through a lot today and frankly, she didn't trust her senses right now. She hoped she’d be able to trust them again after what happened with Starkiller. "Nyx?”
“Hmm?”
“What changed? Why are you suddenly so… uh… nice?” She blushed realizing that probably wasn’t how she should have asked him what was going through his mind.
“I guess I’m turning into an old softie,” he smirked at her and looked away.
“Seriously, what gives? You’re acting weird.” She rolled her eyes.
“Something your mother said before she jumped out…” she held her breath wondering if he’d actually tell her what that was.
“Well? What?” she begged him to continue.
“All these years I’ve stupidly believed that I’d gotten stuck raising you when that wasn’t at all what I thought I wanted to do. I resented her for the trouble it caused me. Meanwhile, she’d been wishing it was her that had you. That she’d gotten to be the one there and not me. The ironic part, I suppose… was that if your mother had been interested in being with me, I would have helped raise you anyways.” He looked up at her and she watched him curiously. “I don’t think she ever wanted me like that, mind you, but I kept hoping maybe she would if she saw what I did for you. Then seeing her again, wowee… it took my breath away.” His eyes widened, and he looked at her. “Don’t tell her I said that. I shouldn’t have said that.” He leapt to his feet and left the cockpit mumbling to himself and she stared after him confused.
She shook her head, smiling. So that was the main reason he’d put up with her for so long? He was still madly in love with her mother. It didn’t really surprise her to learn that. Everyone she’d ever talked to that had known her mother was enamored by her. And why shouldn’t they be? She was amazing! She was powerful, strong, soft, kind, brilliant... Ezra had admired her. Rex respected her and would do anything for her. Chewbacca had cared for her. Her father, who’d married a queen, had fallen in love with her. Ahsoka was just that type of person; you couldn’t help but love her.
She glanced down at her belly. She wasn't sure how she felt about sensing she could be pregnant. She thought she'd loved Galen. They'd definitely had chemistry, but after finding out who he really was... the idea that she was carrying his child made her nervous. She wanted to be a mother, at least she'd known for sure she did after making that deal with her own mom years ago. This was not how she’d imagined it, but maybe now that her mom was back from wherever she'd gone for so long, maybe they could finally be together. Maybe her mom would help her raise it. Although she hoped Ahsoka wouldn't be disappointed to find out Starkiller was the father.
Thinking about her mom reminded her that she’d just left her to fend for herself with dozens of crazy acolytes closing in around her and Starkiller intent on killing her. She tipped her head back, reaching into the force. “Mom? Are you still there?”
“Of course, I am, love.” Ashla smiled the moment her mom’s voice came through. “It takes more than a raging maniac to bring me down. You should know that by now.”
“I do, I do,” she laughed. Her mom sounded lighter, but still so serious. Like she knew something Ashla didn't. She didn’t know enough to understand the whole weight of what Starkiller had been trying to do to her, but the way her mom had reacted when she’d said they had dad’s helmet… Her mom had reacted in fear. It had crashed through her so strongly it had startled her. She’d never felt her mother afraid before. If she had been, she’d hid it well. Her mom had always known what to do, what to say. She seemed so sure of herself all the time, and Ashla wanted nothing more than to live up to that; to become that confident.
So if her mother was afraid of this, she was too. This was bigger than she thought. She stared out the transparisteel glass and tried to relax, but a deep sense of foreboding settled inside her. They’d dismantled the Empire before, they could face this threat too, right?
---
"I need to, uh, meditate," Luke looked away nervously after Leia went to check on her son. Ahsoka watched him tiredly for a moment but didn't move. Seeing him in person after so long was strange. He was almost a spitting image of Anakin, but she could see Padmé’s softness in him. Life and responsibility had been thrust at him with such force it was amazing he was standing so strongly in the light. This was the child that had tipped the balance in his father and brought him back to her. If only he knew how much that meant to her. Maybe someday she would tell him. Or maybe not. Well Padmé, your children turned out just fine. I think you’d be proud. I just wish after what we’ve all been through, that things were getting better not worse. I promise I’ll try to help them as best I can.
"Master Yoda. Master Kenobi. Anakin… If you're there, we need a word," she said aloud, crossing her arms in front of her.
"Oh right... I forgot you… wait..." Luke didn't get to finish his thought as the three force ghosts appeared in the room.
"It's good to see you again, Ahsoka."
"I wish it was under better circumstances," she brushed off Obi wan's words, not in the mood for false pleasantries. She paced back and forth as she recited everything she possibly could about what she'd learned on Taris, without of course, mentioning that Ashla was her daughter. She tried to ignore the way Anakin watched her carefully. The others were distracted by the words she'd said, but he’d always been in tune with more than that. He knew something else troubled her and she wasn't ready to say what.
Once they were deep in conversation about the information she'd delivered, she slipped out and made her way to her daughter's room. She sat down on the bed and dropped her face in her hands, sighing deeply. It wasn't long before she felt Anakin join her. She should have known he'd follow her here. Didn’t he have bigger things to worry about? This was about his family after all.
"I sense there's something else that's bothering you about this." He sat next to her on the bed.
"That's because there is," she sighed again. She was too tired to cry now, she just felt numb. Why couldn't the dark side stop needing to rule the galaxy for five minutes?
"Talk to me, Snips." He reached for her hand and she let him take it. At least the flicker of electricity she felt gave her hope she wasn't too far gone.
"Starkiller said that they were trying to resurrect Darth Vader. I don't know if that's possible, but I have a feeling that if they manage it, you're not going to come back to life as this. You'll be something twisted and dark; and possibly worse than before. I can't lose you again, Anakin. My heart can't take it. I'm getting too old for this." She wished she could lean her head down on his shoulder or fold herself in his arms, but even though he sometimes felt solid, she knew she'd only go right through him. Which would be considerably less satisfying. She was capable of curling up in a ball all by herself, doing it with him there would only exaggerate the pain.
"You won't lose me, Ahsoka."
"You don't know that.” She threw her other hand up in frustration. “I'm tired of fighting. It's all I've ever done. Every time I think I could lay down my lightsabers and walk away, something else happens."
"You don't have to get involved in it. This isn’t your fight. You've warned Leia, you've warned Luke. Let them worry about it now. You've done more than anyone can ask of you," he smiled reassuringly at her, but he didn't understand. He didn't know the whole truth. It wasn't that simple. Their fight was her fight, because she had a daughter that also belonged to him. They might not be her blood, but they were still her family in a way.
"I can't stop, Anakin. I have too much to fight for."
"This is about more than losing me, isn't it?" He tipped her chin back.
"Yes."
"Tell me."
"I can't, Anakin. Someday I will, I promise, but I'm not ready yet." Her eyes burned with the millions of tears she'd already shed over this. Why couldn't she just tell him about their daughter? Why did she hold it back now? She had nothing to lose... and yet, it felt like she had everything to lose...
"Ahsoka..." he was interrupted by Luke's call from the hallway.
"Dad?"
"Go, your son needs you," she breathed, gesturing to the door.
"What about you?" he looked back at her sadly.
"I'll be okay." At least she hoped she would be. He hesitated a moment longer and then left her sitting there alone. Ashla was safe; she was with Nyx. She was out of Starkiller's grasp. She'd be okay now. But she'd just found out her daughter was pregnant, and it felt like history was repeating itself. Only this time around, it was far worse than before, and somehow the stakes felt so much higher.
She scoured the room for any of Ashla's belongings she'd left behind, put them in her bag and left Devoran behind her. It was time to confer with Morai and learn everything she possibly could about these acolytes. Morai had told her something very disturbing on Taris; she wasn't the only one that had escaped Mortis in a new form. Her brother; the Son... Ren… was still alive, and he might be the one behind all this. Which meant, this wasn't just a small-time cult with delusions of grandeur. It was a far bigger threat than any of them were ready to face. He'd had far too many years to build it before being discovered. Why hadn’t she connected the dots before?
---
“What’s the matter?” Ashla studied the faraway look her uncle got as he held her newborn child. The fallen walker they’d made home in the middle of the desert on Jakku was… well it would do for now. It was private. It was far from everything, and after the Empire’s horrible defeat here, it was the last place anybody would think to look for them. Hopefully…
“Nothing. I was just remembering what it was like to hold you for the first time. I delivered you too, you know. It’s come full circle I guess,” he smiled at her and brushed his jet-black hair back out of his eyes.
“You delivered me?” she laughed, sitting up on the bed. She wished her mom was here right now, but as usual Ahsoka had far more pressing matters to attend to. She wondered how Luke was doing. If they’d been able to help Ben. Her mom had told her not to worry about it, but she did. For the second time she’d been taken away from her brother; her family. Just when she’d thought things were finally looking up. She’d locked away her mother’s lightsabers and sworn that she wasn’t going to do anything that could draw attention to them here. But if this child ended up being a force user, she wanted it to learn too. She’d have to worry about that when it got older.
“Well obviously I didn’t do the work, but I caught you when you came out. Don’t sound so surprised!” Nyx had chosen to stay with her for awhile after they’d found this place. She was grateful to not be alone. He’d changed a lot in fifteen years. He didn’t drink anymore, but he still liked to gamble too much. She got the impression that he was trying to make it up to her mother for all the years he’d resented her. She didn’t care why he stayed, she was just glad he did. He came around and handed the little girl to her. “So, what are you going to name it?”
She was instantly in love with the infant in her arms. She thought about what her mom had said about how she got her own name. Then she remembered what Ezra had said to her; about how she lit up the room like her mother, and for the first time, she fully understood how something so amazing and good could be born of darkness; as though the sun had finally peeked out from behind the clouds. She smiled, unable to hold in the joy she felt. “Rey. Her name is Rey.”

I’m really looking forward to the Clone Wars season 7
I wonder if we’ll see anyone or any planets from the sequel trilogy or the tv series (Rebels, Resistance)
Here’s what I want to see:
Planets:
Jakku
Takodana
Castillon
Batuu
Lothal
Jedha
Scariff
Hosnian Prime
Characters:
Maz Kanata
Kanan
Ezra’s parents
Kaz’s great-grandparents
Doza (and/or his parents)
Yeager’s parents (Maybe even Yeager himself as a little boy)
Lor San Tekka
Galen, Lyra, and baby Jyn
Little Han Solo
Krennic
Snoke
Poe’s grandparents (maybe baby Kes)
I doubt we’ll see any or all of these things, but, a girl can dream!

if the flaw in the Death Star that made it easily destroyed by a single X-wing was, according to new canon, designed to be there by someone who wanted it destroyed
could it be possible that the Starkiller’s weakness was also intentional?
because otherwise, Rogue One fixed a plot hole in ANH but made TFA feel out of place because it called attention to the absurdity of there being one special spot you have to shoot the big death ball in to make it explode
but imagining Starkiller was designed to be destroyed makes things very interesting, because who put the flaw in the design? some unnamed character who wanted to sabotoge things, the Galen Erso of the First Order? probably not Hux, but you never know. was it Snoke? did he want Starkiller to be used only once?
