In the Light of Day
After years of buried feelings, you and Crosshair wake beside each other, the line between friendship and romance blurred. In the light of day, you both confront the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
Pairing: Post-Tantiss Crosshair x f!reader
Word count: 1.6k
Warnings: softness, fluff, implied night together, very very minor spoiler from the leaked official S3 clip, character growth, Cross is trying to embrace feelings, a lil' saucy.
Translations: ner kar’ta - my heart
Tumblr media
The palm leaves outside the open window dance with the first light of dawn, casting dappled shadows across the peaceful bedroom. Clothes lay strewn across the floor, remnants of a night intertwined in passion. As the soft, warm breeze wafts through the room, carrying the scent of the ocean and nearby blossoms, Crosshair lets out a soft sigh. Eyes flitting around the space, he takes in the golden glow from the rising sun - such a stark contrast to the months of dark coldness he’d once accepted as his fate.
Shifting a little among the rumpled bed sheets, his gaze lands on you, lost to sleep beside him, your chest rising and falling rhythmically with each breath. Last night had been…unexpected. For years, you’d been the object of his deepest affections, a love he had buried deep within his heart, covering it up with wit and snark, fearing rejection or the potential loss of your friendship. Yet, here you were, nestled beside him in the soft embrace of dawn. Every stolen glance, every suppressed longing, had led to this, where the line between dreams and reality blurred into a blissful haze of possibility.
You’d been with him and his brothers since the start of the war, acting as a liaison between them and Command. You’d driven him insane at first – all smiles and laughter, always up in his space – but as the days had dragged into months and then into years, he’d found himself gravitating towards you. Your laughter had become his favourite sound. He'd worried when you weren’t in his line of sight. Somehow, you’d wormed past his walls and planted yourself there, occupying space he’d once reserved solely for his brothers.
But then everything had fallen apart, and for a year, he’d only caught snippets of you – while tracking you and his siblings across the galaxy, as Kamino burned and sank below the waves, and then when the torture on Tantiss had been overwhelming. His mind had needed something to hold on to. Shaking away the memories, Crosshair draws his right hand towards his chest, his left hand cradling the back of it to stop the irritating tremble that was now his norm. He turns his focus back to you.
You were so beautiful and had been even more radiant last night – the life and soul of the equinox celebration that had taken over Pabu. He’d been content to linger nearby for a while, keep an eye on you as you danced and chatted with the island residents, but the large crowd had quickly made him uncomfortable. He’d fallen back into form, taking refuge on a nearby rooftop.
He’d missed the sound of you clambering to his vantage point and flinched with surprise when you’d sat at his side. You’d reached for him, a soothing hand on his arm, and asked him to walk along the quiet shoreline with you. The pair of you had been halfway down the beach when your hand had slipped into his, and once you’d reached the docks at the far end of the sandy shore, you’d cautiously pushed up on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek.
The rest was a haze – how he’d tilted his head to capture your lips in a desperate kiss, the building anticipation on the route home, the slam of the bedroom door, clothes discarded, the scent of you and, finally, the soft curves of your body in his hands.
You embraced everything about him. From his prickly attitude during the war to the desolate version of himself he’d been after his rescue, to who he was now – slowly healing, working through things that plagued him, and rebuilding his bond with his siblings. Gratitude flows through him, and he reaches for you, slender fingers dragging along the fullness of your cheek, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips at the sight of you resting amongst the pillows.
A feather-light caress stirs you from your slumber, your eyes fluttering open, meeting the hawkish gaze of the man beside you. Warmth sweeps through you, soft feelings that had slowly taken root in your heart over the years, no longer able to hide in the darkness. A gentle smile spreads across your lips. “Good morning.” You whisper, not wanting to break the tranquility of the moment.
Crosshair returns your smile, his fingers still tracing the curves of your face with tender reverence. “Good morning.” He murmurs in reply, his voice a low slink that sends shivers down your spine.
As you hold each other’s gaze, the galaxy seems to pause, waiting with bated breath.
“Last night... it was...” Crosshair breaks the silence first, trailing off, unable to find the words to articulate the depth of what he’s feeling.
Reaching out, you gently trace your fingertips along his jawline. The flicker of vulnerability in his eyes is a new development he’s learning to accept and embrace. “I know.” You murmur, your voice soft but sure. You’d been worried about making a move, concerned he wasn’t ready for it yet, but the enthusiasm with which he’d reciprocated had eased your worries.
Try as he might to hide it, a mixture of relief and disbelief washes over him. “I never thought...” He starts, his voice trailing off once more. With a heavy exhale, Crosshair lets the weight of his emotions settle, still learning to sit with them. “I’m not good at this.” He admits with a scowl, frustrated that he’s floundering.
“And that’s okay.” You respond, your voice a soothing melody in the quiet room. Your fingers thread with his and come to rest on the pillow between you, a gesture of comfort and understanding. You take him in for a moment – still a little gaunt with dark circles under his eyes. Among the knotted scars on the side of his head is a new one, a thin straight line, the only evidence of his chip being pried out once he’d been rescued. It was unsurprising that the Empire had lied to him about removing it.
Crosshair’s shoulders relax slightly at your reassurance. You’d always been patient with him, even when he hadn’t deserved it. “I’ve never been one for relationships.” He confesses, his gaze fixed on yours. “But with you, it feels...different.”
Your heart swells at his admission, the sincerity in his words washing over you like a gentle tide. “I feel it, too.” You reply softly, drawing your intertwined hands up to kiss the back of his hand, ignoring how it trembles.
“What…do we do now?” He asks, his voice barely above a whisper as his brows furrow once more, uncertainty marring his features.
You pause, considering his question carefully. “I think we have a choice.” You answer honestly. “We can either retreat back into the safety of what we know, or we can see where this takes us.” There’s no doubt in your mind which path you want to follow, but you don’t want to lead him. He needs to decide for himself. Too many decisions have been taken from him throughout his life.
Crosshair nods slowly as if mulling over your words. “And if it doesn’t work out?” He ventures.
“We talk about it.” You assure him, sincerity ringing in your voice. “We work through it together. Just like everything else.”
A comfortable silence settles between you as Crosshair weighs up the options, and you take the opportunity to soak up the feeling of being in bed together, just in case this is the only time you can experience it.
Lost in your thoughts, you almost miss the subtle shift in Crosshair’s expression - a flicker of determination, a silent resolve. “I want to try.” He says suddenly, his voice low but firm. “I want to see where this goes with you.”
His words hang in the air, and, for a moment, you’re speechless. It’s a leap of faith, a step into the unknown, but as you meet his gaze, you know he means it. A smile tugs at your lips. “I want that too.” You admit, your voice barely above a whisper.
Relief passes over Crosshair’s eyes as he leans in, his lips brushing against yours in a tender kiss - as easy as breathing.
You return it without hesitation, letting go of his hand so you can cup his face and anchor yourself in this moment.
Crosshair deepens the kiss, his hand reaching your hip, pulling you closer as if afraid to let go. When you finally break apart, a soft smile lingers on both of your lips.
“C’mon, let’s get some breakfast.” You insist, still adamant about helping him regain a few more pounds. Pressing one more kiss to his lips, you pull back and sit up, the sheets slipping down your body.
Crosshair’s gaze snaps to your naked frame, sharp eyes roaming over every curve as his smile switches into a smirk you’re all too familiar with. “You on the menu again, ner kar’ta?” He teases, voice raspy with desire.
Your pillow connects with his chest before he can stop it, earning a deep chuckle from him. “Behave.” You chide playfully, though the warmth in your eyes betrays the affection behind your words, and you can’t deny how your heart races at the new pet name. As you slip out of bed, you pull on his discarded shirt. “But you might want to save room for dessert...”

We talk about the fact that Aziraphale doesn't understand what Crowley wants, because he asks him to become an angel again and go to Heaven with him (obviously he thinks he's going to protect him). But I think also Crowley doesn't understand what Aziraphale wants and what he wants.
I don't think Aziraphale would be happy on Alpha Centauri, knowing that Earth is in danger and he could do something about it. And same thing for Crowley. He was the one who created the galaxies and loved them first, he introduced Aziraphale to Earth's pleasures, he couldn't even kill Job's goats.
I think Crowley can't talk - like real talk, like Nina and Maggie said - with Aziraphale and be fully loved yet, because he can't still accept a part of himself: that angel part, what happened in his past, his fall, his trauma. Crowley never talked to Aziraphale about what happened to him, it's too painful for him to even bring the subject up.
Aziraphale "doesn't know him" even before all these millennia, because Crowley doesn't let him in. And I think in S3 he will finally face his trauma.

Parallels between Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and Crosshair from "The Bad Batch"
Tumblr media
GENERAL PERSONALITIES & EARLY LIFE
Both of them are fiercely loyal to the people they care about
Both of them are absolute SassMasters
Both have a scar/tattoo over their right eye
Neither had a proper childhood, as they were both trained for combat starting at a young age
Both have special abilities/enhanced senses compared to the average human, and they were trained (read: groomed) because of it
Both of them were part of a unique brotherhood (the Jedi and the clones, respectively) that, at one point, spanned the entire galaxy during The Clone Wars
Both have a complicated relationship with an older brother/father figure in Obi-Wan and Hunter, respectively
Both lost their right hands in a fight with an evil counterpart (Although, for Crosshair, this happens much later in his life)
POSSIBLE FORESHADOWING IN TCW Season 7?
Tumblr media
As I pointed out in a separate post, in "The Clone Wars" Episode 7.02 "A Distant Echo," we get a moment of foreshadowing with these two characters.
In the episode, Anakin and his friend/captain Rex and the four original Bad Batch brothers are on a rescue mission together. About halfway through the episode, there's a moment where the six of them split up to search a tower. They're basically at a T-intersection, and while the other four go one way, Crosshair and Anakin go the other.
(Link to a gif post of the moment here.)
These characters literally take the same path.
By doing so, they are separating themselves from their loved ones (Anakin from his friend Rex, Crosshair from his brothers) and choosing the opposite path.
I realize this might've been unintentional on the writers' part, because I'm not sure if "The Bad Batch" series was in production yet when TCW Season 7 released, but holy hell! That's some insane foreshadowing right there!!
THEIR TURN TO ‘THE DARK SIDE’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both betrayed their brothers and other loved ones by deciding to serve the Empire, and it's around the same time in-universe
Order 66 specifically becomes a pivotal moment in their respective stories. For Anakin, it's when he first takes on the name and mantle of Darth Vader and exterminates the Jedi; for Crosshair, it's when he's first torn away from his family due to the Empire's mind control via the inhibitor chip
Both have at least one opportunity to come back but decide to continue serving the Empire/Dark Side of their own accord (Anakin on Mustafar in ROTS // Crosshair on Kamino in TBB S1 finale)
While their battle attire was dark-colored before they betrayed their loved ones and started serving the Empire, afterward, both characters start wearing all-black armor
Despite all their loyalty and sacrifices, their masters/employers are ready to throw them away the minute they find a better or more convenient replacement
Both were burned while trying to kill their older brother/father figures
Both initially had hair, but after being burned and getting scarred on their heads, we only ever see them bald on-screen
Both seem to suffer from an "in for a penny, in for a pound" mindset, which is partly why they stay with the Empire for so long
While serving the Empire, both commit all of the war crimes!! 😬
Both have multiple scenes of them killing their own officers/troopers, and they both seem to take some amount of pleasure in doing so
Blinded by anger and rage, both are ready to hunt down their older brother/father figures at a moment's notice, and ultimately attempt to kill them several times (Vader in the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series // Crosshair in TBB Season 1)
Both attempt to kill their own kid at least once. (Vader in ANH // Crosshair in TBB Season 1)
(Side note: if you don't think of Crosshair as one of Omega's dads, I recommend you review my post about S3 Crosshair speed-running Hunter's Dad Arc and/or my CrossDad S3 episode ranking. Because, if you're not on board with the idea that Crosshair is Omega's dad, you're not going to enjoy the rest of this post.)
THEIR REDEMPTION & FINAL MOMENTS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s a whole plot line about them trying to find their kid at a secret base (Vader in ESB // Crosshair in TBB Season 3)
When confronted by their kid, both characters believe they are undeserving or too far gone to be forgiven/redeemed (Vader: "It is too late for me, son" // Crosshair: "Omega. Don't risk anything for me. I belong in here.")
At some point, both characters' kids challenge them on their true intentions and decisions to stay with the Empire. (Luke to Vader: "Then my father is truly dead." // Omega to Crosshair: "I wanted to believe it was the inhibitor chip that made you like this, but I was wrong.")
Both of them ultimately find redemption and forgiveness because their blonde kid refused to give up on them (Luke to Vader: "I know there is good in you. The Emperor hasn't driven it from you fully." // Omega to Crosshair: "You're still their brother, Crosshair. You're my brother too.")
A large part of their redemption arcs is saving their kid from being held hostage and tortured by the Empire (Vader saving Luke from the Emperor & the Death Star // Crosshair helping Omega escape Tantiss both times)
While a much larger battle impacting the fate of the galaxy rages on nearby, both characters' final on-screen act -- the climax of their respective stories -- is saving their kid from one of the Empire's worst villains (Vader saving Luke from the Emperor // Crosshair saving Omega from Hemlock)
Both of them ultimately help thwart Palpatine’s plans for immortality/reincarnation(?) by destroying his primary body and his cloning facility on Tantiss, respectively
Their final on-screen reunions with their kids are very personal and emotional. For Vader and Luke, it's the only time they see each other face-to-face. For Crosshair and Omega, it's the first time they ever hug on-screen.
Their last lines of on-screen dialogue are talking about their daughters with another family member (Vader to his son Luke: "Tell your sister you were right" // Crosshair to his brother Hunter: "If I'm off -- I can't risk Omega.")
The final shots of them on-screen are a 'family portrait' type pose with their older brother/father figure and other loved ones, and their kid/s are nearby
(This list is subject to edits/additions if I think of anything else! If you have any ideas, include them in the comments or reblogs. Thanks!)

"A Healer's Touch"
2. "What did I do to deserve you?"
35. "I love you with all my heart."
Pairing: Crosshair x fem reader
***
All the years you'd lived on Pabu, you thought were the happiest you had ever been. You lived in an island paradise, surrounded by the most loving and accepting community you'd ever known and you had a job that you enjoyed most days. Everything felt just right and you thought you had it all.
Until one day, Clone Force 99, whom you had befriended, returned to the island with their long-lost brother...Crosshair.
You knew they had a brother who had sided with the Empire, but months ago, they'd tried to rescue him...which was when so many things went wrong for them. They failed in trying to find Crosshair, Tech had been lost and Omega had been captured. For the following months, Hunter and Wrecker; the only two left, had spent so much time away from Pabu, following multiple leads and scouring the galaxy for their siblings. It made you immensely happy when they returned with both Omega and Crosshair.
While all of the Clone brothers were handsome in your eyes, there was just something more alluring about Crosshair that caught your attention the first time you saw him. Maybe it was the intensity in his face or the way he stood tall with pride or maybe...it was the darkness and hidden sorrow you could see behind his eyes when his brothers introduced him to you. Even though you didn't know any specifics and despite his best efforts to hide it, you could tell that the Empire had utterly broken him.
In the months Hunter and Wrecker had been out back and forth so much, you'd started training with the local nurse and had become a rather talented nurse and healer yourself. When you'd learned Crosshair had some hand tremors that were starting to cause him slight pain, you offered to take a look at it for him. He'd been quite reluctant at first, but Omega insisted, to which he relented. While you initially couldn't determine the exact cause behind the tremors, the best you could do at the time was give him a balm that could at least help soothe the discomfort.
After that, everything changed.
He kept coming back for more of the ointment for his hand and to have you check it when it seemed things were getting worse, still a bit begrudgingly for a bit. At one point, you were examining his hand when it started shaking in the middle of it and you instinctively reached out and took it in your own, grasping it tightly. Just as you realized what you'd done and were about to let go and apologize, he curled his fingers around your hand in return and it was the first time you saw the hint of a smile from him...a smile that sent you falling head over heels for him in an instant.
Soon after, he started coming around just to see you instead of out of concern for his hand. His brothers would go on missions and leave him and Omega behind to keep them safe from the Empire and he would come to spend time with you instead of dying from boredom or after spending a good while training or being with Omega for a bit. He'd watch you work and make small talk when you weren't busy. You enjoyed his company and he seemed to enjoy yours, too. If ever his hand began shaking when you were together, you would hold his hand gently and it would calm him almost right away. You were grateful to know that you were helping him in more ways than just giving him something for the pain the tremors caused him. He seemed more at ease when he was with you physically and emotionally. You couldn't quite understand why, but it didn't matter. He chose willingly almost every day to see you. It felt as though there was an unspoken thing between you, but you were never sure if it was right to bring it up. Perhaps, one day, after he'd adjusted more.
You were a lost cause, though, because in all that time, you had fallen hopelessly and completely in love with him.
There was a day you were out walking around Pabu as the sun was beginning to set when you saw him down on the beach...meditating, to your surprise, but you couldn't help but smile. Then you decided you would go down and see him, so you made your way to the beach.
As you walked up behind him, he suddenly said without turning around, "I was hoping I'd see you today...but I didn't expect it to be here."
You were about to ask how he knew you were there, but...it was Crosshair. He just somehow knew these things. It was like he had enhanced sense of his own. Instead, you replied, sitting beside him, "I didn't expect to see you meditating. When did this start?"
"Omega showed me a while ago," he answered.
"That explains why your hand hasn't been shaking so much. It seems to be helping," you commented.
He simply hummed in response and inhaled deeply and slowly before exhaling through his mouth. You watched him carefully as he breathed, taking in every inch of his profile. The way he almost glowed in the golden evening light, how peaceful he looked...your heart felt warmer than your skin did in the Pabu sun. You looked down at his hand next to you; the one with the tremors that you always held. You reached down and took his hand once again in yours and he immediately grasped your hand back. He didn't break his meditation, but you did see a small smile slowly creep up on his lips as you took his hand and his shoulders seemed to relax even more.
There was a small moment of content silence between you before Crosshair asked, "What did I do to deserve you?" You were a bit surprised at the question and then he finally opened his eyes and looked at you, a softness in his gaze that made you melt inside.
"I don't understand," you replied.
"You've showed me more kindness than I feel I've earned. You waste your time with me when you could be doing anything else or be with someone else," he told you.
"I don't see it as a waste of time. I never have," you said back to him, gripping his hand tighter. "You deserve love and care as much as anyone else."
He turned his head away, saying in a low voice, "Who would love someone like me?"
Hearing him ask such a question made you want to cry at how little he thought of himself, especially when you thought the world of him. It was then you decided he needed to know how you truly felt.
You leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek, whispering as you pulled away, "I would...and I do."
Crosshair turned to you, his eyes wide with shock at what you were implying yet there was still a gentleness in them that shone even brighter in the sunset.
With a smile, you nodded at him and stated, "I love you, Crosshair. I really do. I love you with all my heart."
Even though he still looked surprised at what he was hearing, his eyes flickered down briefly to your lips before gazing back into your eyes. Then he let go of your hand and reached up to caress your cheek, whispering your name as he did so. He leaned forward and then pressed his lips to yours in a tender kiss, eliciting a soft sigh from you as you immediately returned the gesture.
After he pulled away, he rubbed your cheek with his thumb, looking deeply still into your eyes. "And I love you with all of my heart," he told you back, "...a heart that you have helped heal just as much as my hand."

Callum & Viren: Are they similar? Is Callum on the same path as Viren? - Star Wars Analogies
I know there have been posts made before in the Dragon Prince fandom comparing characters from tdp to Star Wars characters, esp Callum to Anakin/Vader as someone who will eventually get corrupted/turn to the dark side and become a potential apprentice to Aaravos, as well as Rayllum to Anidala in terms of Callum being seen as being bound to doom the world for Rayla.
I wanted to share a different perspective of mine as to which characters/relationship dynamics (outside of romantic ones included) from tdp I believe compare the most to which Star Wars characters as a massive fan of both sagas myself.
The number one character from Star Wars that I see Callum being most similar to is Luke Skywalker, whereas a character I think is the best comparison to Anakin/Vader, especially after watching Season 6 of the Dragon Prince, would be none other than Viren himself. While I do know for a fact that the tdp characters aren’t carbon copies of the SW characters I’m comparing them to, I still think that their overall arcs are quite matching.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Starting with Callum and Luke, on the surface, both are the hero who prevails and saves everyone & the whole world/galaxy from doom, but on a deeper level, they both struggle with a dark side inside of them & temptations to give in to it. And before I continue, I wanted to emphasize that I DO NOT see Callum as someone who’s morally dubious, as there are several instances in canon which prove otherwise, specifically his immense guilt over using dark magic and his fear of becoming corrupted and consumed by darkness in S6 (his nightmare at the beginning of episode 3 perfectly illustrates this), the latter of which is a challenge we also see Luke dealing with in The Empire Strikes Back.
youtube
Throughout the Original trilogy, mainly in ESB & Return of the Jedi, we see so many “hints” and “indicators” that Luke might turn to the dark side, who unlike Callum, actually shares many personality traits with his father such as his impatience and recklessness. We see Yoda fear that he might follow in his father’s footsteps before reluctantly training him, we see Vader and eventually Palpatine try to lure Luke to the dark side, even pointing out that they could sense his anger which is a major precursor for that. But in the end, despite all of those temptations, despite all of his anger and eventual fear & rage for his sister’s safety, he ultimately resisted and refused to join the sith.
Tumblr media
Along with seeing many protagonists who may be put in similar situations or even in some cases share some similarities with the main/major antagonist, such as Harry and Voldemort being another example of this, this is why I am a firm believer that Callum will be tested in Season 7, he may be faced with temptations to use dark magic again perhaps as a quick means to defeat Aaravos or potentially save Rayla if it gets to that, or even Aaravos trying to bribe him to join him, but in the end he will ultimately resist, since dark magic, as stated several times before, is merely a shortcut that leads to much bigger long term harm (which I don’t think there would be enough time to even flesh this out in the final season of the Mystery of Aaravos arc). As we’ve seen Callum reject succumbing to his dark side after he used dark magic for the first time, and seeing him willingly do the purification ritual to rid himself of his darkness/corruption in his soul, I do believe that Callum has the power to reject dark magic once and for all and do the right thing (this does not necessarily mean he would sacrifice Rayla if the plot does get to that, but I do think he would find a third option aside from dark magic to save her, like he did back in S3 when he cast the mage wing spell to save her). After all, a major theme in the Dragon Prince is breaking cycles and not repeating previous mistakes, so what would be the point in having those themes or specifically Harrow’s letter in the first place, or better yet have the whole “destiny’s a book you write yourself” line be brought up multiple times if Callum’s just fated keep repeating past mistakes over and over again?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now onto my next analogy: Viren & Anakin/Vader, the characters who I genuinely saw as those whose corruption & downfalls may have started out of desperation to save a loved one from dying, but ultimately grew into greed and hunger for power.
I could go on about the complexities of Anakin’s character, specifically the ones that got fleshed out even more in the Clone Wars and how there are multiple factors that led to his turn to the dark side, but that’s not the whole point of this post. I know that there are some differing factors between both Viren and Anakin in terms of their dark sides/stories, but ultimately the last straw that led to their corruption was the fact that they were both terrified of losing an important loved one and both were completely unwilling to let that happen, whatever the price they had to pay. We also see them seek some sort of counsel/beg for help, like when Anakin vaguely told Yoda about his visions and fears, and Viren telling Kpp’Ar about Soren’s condition and needing the staff, ultimately both Anakin and Viren were told that there wasn’t really anything that could be done and they both needed to learn to let go. However neither of them were having that, so we somewhat see them both resort to another counsel, both very different but leading to same outcome. Anakin starts to open up more to Palpatine, who in turn manipulates him and convinces him that he has his “solution.” While Viren on the other hand, may have offered advice to Harrow to “do what he must” over his own dilemma, he in turn used that same advice but in a more twisted, corrupted manner. So then, both Anakin and Viren resort to darker approaches to solve their own problems and completely give in to their own darknesses.
I won’t go into deep detail about what they each did, since you can just rewatch these scenes in Revenge of the Sith and Episode 6 of TDP for that, but now I wanted to talk about how despite having the desire to save their loved ones, they ultimately caused massive harm to them. Anakin desperately did whatever he could to save Padme, but in the end, when he thought she betrayed him, he force-choked her then afterwards, she was shattered and heartbroken over his downfall that it led to her death, the very thing that Anakin tried so hard to prevent. While Viren on the other hand may have succeeded in healing and saving Soren, he grew to treat him coldly and abusively to the point where he completely damaged & even destroyed his relationship with his very son that he corrupted himself completely to save in the first place.
Even though I primarily focused on the similarities between Viren saving Soren & Anakin trying to save Padme, I also wanted to point out how similar the impacts were on Lissa and Padme as well, namely how they were both horrified when they saw what became of their husbands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly both of them ended up getting assaulted by their corrupted husbands, which then led up to the destruction of their families. And ultimately both Viren and Anakin continued on their dark paths and grew more ruthless, evil, and corrupted until they finally reached their eventual redemptions (I know not everyone thinks that Viren got redeemed but I do believe that his redemption arc was him accepting that he’s done far too much and accepting the consequences for his actions).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So far these are the thoughts that I have on which Dragon Prince characters/relationships I think compare best to which Star Wars ones. And I know that Claudia would also be a good comparison to Anakin since she too struggles a lot with loss and refuses to let go, but at the same time, I see her still being in Anakin’s early villain phase during Revenge of the Sith, not yet having reached the Vader levels that we see during the Original Trilogy era. The way I see Vader & Viren relationships with Luke and Callum’s characters, it’s that the former two represent what the latter two fear of becoming if they do not overcome their dark sides.
But to answer my questions in the header, I do not think that Callum is bound to be on the same path as Viren or that he will let himself be consumed by darkness. Season 6 dealt with his overall guilt over using dark magic, his fear of being consumed by it/being used as by Aaravos, and ultimately his choice to purify himself of his darkness and understanding the consequences of doing dark magic again beforehand. Just as many protagonists get put through the wringer in their final battles, but ultimately persevere and do the right thing, I do believe that Callum will win and not fall victim to his temptations once again.
That’s all I have folks! Thanks for reading this far if you have! And an important friendly reminder (as mentioned already in my bio) if you have differing opinions and would like to disagree and discuss, please be sure to do so respectfully. Otherwise scroll by or I’ll be more than glad to press that block button! 😊🙌🏽
I think Star and Wander would be just as frustrated w/ each other as Wander was with Dom in s2, if not more. Ostensibly, they share the same goals so theoretically it shouldn't be too hard for one to get thru to the other. Problem is, both Wander and Star are very stubborn irt their views and what they think is the right way to go about things. Granted, with s3 being about testing Wander, he likely would've started to question his beliefs abit and eventually become not as stubborn with his views, especially considering Dom blunty turning down his offer of redemption/friendship at the end of s2. Maybe Star would've had a similar arc? What do you think ?
YEAH !!!!!! YEAH LITERALLY !!!!! thx for asking! big oc infodump incoming
thats exactly what ive been thinking of, like SFEF honestly have the universe's best interest in mind. they motivate their actions on the belief that they're right n they're genuinely doing good by freeing galaxies of villains, even if it's in frankly cruel ways n their definition of what is "good" n what is "evil" is extremely black n white n divided. they are the always the good guys n others r the bad guys who are inherently fundamentally evil n dangerous n deserve every terrible thing in the world to happen to them (that worldview is basically exactly what leads to the dehumanization of villains in their eyes n that is what makes it rlly easy for them to do what they do cuz they don't view villains as actual ppl with their own motivations n reasoning but as a disembodied force to be defeated).
star, who is the perfect guy to represent SFEF's beliefs n ideals (like he genuinely does not question them in the slightest he accepts their worldview as his own to the point his self-identity is tied directly to SFEF. the way he goes about fulfilling his duty is sort of tainted by his own personal wants n opinions sometimes, that's why sugar n ultra r there to level it out, but at the core he operates on the same logic as SFEF do, underneath all of their inspiring slogans n speeches of their righteous mission), is also the perfect guy to serve as a contrast to wander. star is literally like helplessness-less wander from the wanders episode. we only got to see him once in the show n the only thing he did was do a cool pose n explain his worldview, so star is basically what would happen if he got to act upon n actively spread his ideology — if wander had to face against someone w his own discarded belief n prove not just to himself but to literally the entire galaxy that it is not the answer
i feel like wander would be absolutely delighted to see SFEF show up at first. new people in the galaxy, and they're here to help, and they're really good at their job and others seem to really like them — this is basically like the hot shot episode situation. but then as their mission goes on hed begin to recognize their approach is flawed AS HELL — hed get that ideological ick from them. the problem is — he's the only one. post-dominator, after his pacifistic approach didn't work and dominator turned out to be an irredeemable sadist who could've only been stopped by force, the yonder galaxy would sorta start questioning wander n be more willing to side w SFEF n their more forceful methods. maybe that would even include sylvia, give her a bit of an arc — ofc shed still stay w wander n in the end shed support him, but judging by her character i feel like she wouldn't be opposed to a team of good guys who stop villains by force instead of trying to befriend them. even if she started warming up to peepers a lot n even cheered for hater in the end of the galaxy, she still doesn't seem to fully agree w wander on the sentiment that villains can be redeemed (quite paradoxical considering she was a redeemed "bad guy". wonder where that stems from). i think an arc of her coming to her own conclusion that wander really is right abt that instead of just going along w all his plans throughout all s3 would do her pretty well. so there goes the testing wander part. no matter how confident in ur own righteousness u are, if literally the entire galaxy rejects ur worldview u can't help but start to question it. that might even work to wander's benefit in a way, cuz his approach admittedly is still kinda flawed, so starting to question it might in the end make it more nuanced n balanced instead — curiously, what tries to break him ends up helping him in its own way. in the end it'd all probably come around to a big epic wander win n a great philosophical conclusion abt pacifism n what is good n evil n how too drenched in nuance everything actually is to apply such simple black n white logic to it. idk exactly how it'll happen but thats how i imagine it
now this part is curious, cuz smth needs to happen to SFEF after they lose right? now um the best outcome would be to show the entire bigass intergalactic SFEF organization the error of their ways so they can use their influence n power for something better — but idk how to actually come to it, cuz it's quite the feat.
what is a bit less of a feat is to redeem just star sugar n ultra in the end. ultra has her own arc going on of gaining conscience n beginning to question SFEF's ways by virtue of their beliefs being programmed into her, n the very act of her gaining free thought goes directly against her programming. so she doesn't have a brainwashed stupidass little head like how star does, which makes it just the tiniest bit easier. wander would come in super handy as a guy who showed an alternative to loyal to their authority soldiers/robots at least two times before. now i just dont know if i should let ultra have her happy ending or give her the beep boop treatment, inevitably shut down for good or sent back to be reset back to her factory settings the moment she stops being convenient to the cause or even worse tries to sabotage it. hard choice
sugar... sugar is a bit of a pickle. they dont go against SFEF but they don't exactly support it either. u see their species — bonbons — due to their physiological advantages, r rlly convenient for SFEF to hire. theyre almost impossible to hurt, have the ability to regenerate, can shift shape freely n can solidify or liquify their body's consistency at will. so basically SFEF practically has control over their homeplanet, in the cultural n societal sense. working for SFEF is like the go-to career there — kinda like the military if they payed better n also didn't endanger ur life so much. so sugar isn't there out of some righteous desire to save the universe, or for glory, or out of obligation — theyre basically there for the bag. its like a 9 to 5 to them. a circumstance. that attitude is outrageous, but that's the point — sugar is rlly detached from reality. they just go w the flow. they dont want to think too hard about the cause theyre contributing to. they dont want to think of the fact their actions have consequences. they dont want to take the lead of their own life. n since they leave it up for grabs SFEF is happy to accept the offer. in order for sugar to have an arc of abandoning SFEF n growing as a person they need something DRASTICCCC to happen, put them in a situation where they have no choice but to take action n actually pick a side. to commit. idk how that'd happen but it would be great trust 🙏🙏
now star. heheheheheh. until just recently i actually didnt even consider a character arc for him. hes a stubborn self-assured delusional fucking blockhead who would rather kill himself than admit he's wrong. i felt like just keeping him that way cuz i didnt see how wander would be able to make him reconsider that wout it feeling forced. but then it came to me, that if there's anything he believes to be as correct as himself — its SFEF. like ive said SFEF is basically tied into his self image now. every "I'm not wrong" automatically translates into "SFEF isn't wrong" n vice versa. n now — what if those sentiments weren't just separated but directly put against eachother, one or the other inevitably false. what if SFEF fired him. its their big final loss, star is forced to admit defeat, mark the end of their mission in the yonder galaxy n just come back to the main SFEF station empty handed. but they don't even let him do that. they just fire him. he fucked up his first mission in a relatively small galaxy that was literally almost wiped out by a huge threat beforehand — like it was perfect picking n he fucked that up. he proved himself worthless n hes not rlly important enough to deserve a second chance from them, they can fire him n literally nothing would change (a big shocker for star who genuinely thought he was all that. in reality they didn't even hire him in the first place cuz of his skills or something — it was because he looked like their mascot 😭 ofc going up the SFEF career ladder to the point they oh so generously allow him to lead a mission took him a lot of effort. but in the end he's just another easily replaceable cog in the machine. he refused to see that until now. he was like the biggest SFEF d-rider ever n he naively thought he meant something in return, that his efforts would pay off, that he'd be recognized for how absolutely jawdroppingly cool n awesome he is, that he has some worth to them — but he doesn't). n so something that was a big part of him, something he built his identity on, now leaves him on the side of the road. n it creates a huge dissonance — n he can't figure out whether he's wrong for fucking up n being a fucking loser or they're wrong for firing him, cuz both of those r thoughts he refused to even consider before. now probably for the first time in his life he's forced to come face to face w the fact he failed, in a way he can't brush off or takw himself back from after. to make matters worse he's basically homeless now lmao cuz he used to live on the SFEF spaceship station until they fired him n he cant come back to his parents house cuz that's the most shameful humiliating shit ever to him n hed rather kill himself than let his parents know the fucking SFEF fired his ass cuz its kinda a big deal 👍 n so there goes wonder — @catfacedcat's oc
some exposition so wonder is a criminal who keeps getting away n hes basically like stars arch nemesis n they also have a bit of a Thing going on. toxic yaoi situationship. now to star wonder was like. a spot on his squeaky clean self image. falling for a criminal n ur enemy is basically... a flaw. a weakness. an inevitable loss n stuff. actually there was smth rlly good that came out of it, interacting w wonder a lot n warming up to him made star question a bit maybe he's not such a fundamentally evil terrible badguy after all. like "maybe nuance is real n bad ppl r still ppl hmmm ☝️☝️ nah no way" or whatever. so what i mean to say is star is at the lowest of the lows rn right. this is that inevitable loss. hes the spot on his own made up image of himself that he couldn't live up to. so he goes to the guy who he feels he belongs w most now — wonder. belongs not in a romantic sense(ok maybe a romantic sense too) but in a "ure the only person im vaguely close to who i feel like could look me in the eyes rn simultaneously the only person id let see me cuz the very act of me feeling anything towards u was already a step so low for me that begging u to let me stay w u doesn't even feel like going much lower. anyway so can u let me in ure my only hope 🥺" sense. so he just stands outside of wonders car cuz wonder doesnt even have a fucking house either, holding a cardboard box w 3 shirts 10 ties n a cactus, completely drenched out in the rain probably fell in a fucking puddle on the way. n i feel like he doesn't even expect him to open the door. n wonder wouldn't really be to blame if he didn't like things r rlly complicated between them. + she alr has to share her stupid broken ass car w her coolioburger 4yo kid (big shoutout to woopa) like be so fr rn. but hed probably let star in anyway n they just sit there rlly awkwardly n avoid eye contact. basically a huge humbling experience for star that is sure to kickstart a character arc of reconsidering things n becoming a better person n stuff 👍 all because of yaoi
big shoutout to my frjends for this one fr stars arc was like a group project
Bad Batch Appreciation
With 4 episodes left in the ENTIRE show, I just can’t believe how fast time has flown and how far our beloved clone family has come.
Crosshair as a character means so much to me. To see him come home and begin healing is something I thought I’d never see yet here we are. I truly resonate with him and his journey. There are many ups and downs, but he’s not alone anymore.
Omega has matured so much since we first met her. While she still retains some childlike senses, she really has grown. And she’s still the sweetest and kindest bean in the galaxy.
Tech, wherever he may be, is truly wonderful. The conversation in “The Crossing” will always mean a lot to me. I wish he was here in S3, but seeing him open up and get recognition for his smarts, and even become a potential romantic interest was amazing.
Sweet Echo and his heart of gold *sigh of happiness*. Although I miss his presence in S3, I love that he takes charge to fight for a bigger cause. Like Fives before him, Echo truly leaves an impact on the lives of others and strives for freedom and justice.
Wrecker has definitely matured as well. Seeing his serious side and his emotional intelligence show he’s not just some guy who likes to blow things up. He’s grown so much since CW. And I bet he gives the best hugs.
Hunter, the character I had a lot of issues with at the start of this show. I’ve come around and saw that this poor man is struggling. He truly does want the best for the Batch (and wants to retire). I hope he gets his wish eventually.
Whatever happens next as the Batch’s journey draws to a close, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for these characters and this show. I’ve learned a lot about myself from them, especially Crosshair. Am I nervous for the finale? Of course. But am I happy that we have this show? Absolutely. It’s not perfect, but it’s still beautiful in its own way. And that, as Tech would say, is something.
I waited over 20 years for a Boba Fett show and I was disappointed in TBOBF. Seems like the man himself shares my disappointment. The way they've treated both TBOBF and him has been so disrespectful and I am still fuming at how they sidelined Boba in his OWN SHOW to shoehorn in a Mando plot they could have done in s3.
We Fett fans were 100% right. Disney Star Wars did Tem/Boba dirty, and it’s not right whatsoever! At this point it’s so clear that they only used Boba Fett as a catalyst to get Din and Grogu to where they wanted them for mando s3
Boba Fett is the VERY REASON why The Mandalorians exists in the first place and instead of taking his place with his people, he is constantly given the shaft and replaced by Din and Bo.
There was a time when Boba Fett was the most badass bounty hunter in the galaxy before continuing his father's legacy by becoming the new Manda'alor. Boba cleaning up the outer rim and rule through honor and respect had potential, but it's clear the people involved had no idea what to do with Boba Fett. All they had to do was literally everything here. Show Jango's past as Mandalorian, show Boba's change from cold Bounty Hunter to crime lord dispensing justice(and actually doing crime) feature his Bounty Hunter allies and rivalry with Cad Bane(hint hint use Daniel Logan in flashbacks for the cut Bounty Hunter arc) and tease the future with the Syndicate, potential confrontation with Mace and Boba potentially meeting Omega. How is it I know more about Boba Fett than Filoni?
He has a right to be pissed and not just about Boba's treatment(especially considering how much of himself and his own culture he put into the character), but Star Wars/Disney lightens the clones’ skin, that’s HIS appearance the clones are based on. Beyond disrespectful.
Boba Fett deserved better, the Clones deserves better and Temuera deserved better. Fuck Filoni and fuck Favreau.
S3 EP19 (Requiem For Methuselah) let me guess. Kirk is romancing.
Forthwards:
- beaming down together <3
- uh oh a time limit!
- Spock grabs McCoy’s arm to get him out of the way of the fire
- very drawable right here
Tumblr media
- Kirk is not fucking around today
- wow. Just wow.
Tumblr media
- A SHAKESPEARE FIRST FOLIO?!? This guy is fucking rich holy shit
- She’s just like me when I watch Star Trek
Tumblr media
- I like that she wants to talk to Spock about science :))
- “What is loneliness?” “It is a thirst. It is a flower dying in a desert.” Wow
- “Thank you, Doctor. I will have a brandy.” “Do you think the two of us can handle a drunk Vulcan? Once alcohol hits that green blood—” They’re adorable
Tumblr media
- fuck off fuck off fuck off (edit: this is probably about them immediately flirting with Rayna)
- Bottles of colourful liquid. You think one of them is ketchup?
- Does Kirk know how to play pool? Is she showing him for no reason? He seems to know what he’s doing…
- I love that Spock likes playing musical instruments
- His boyfriend is dancing with a woman RIGHT THERE. I wonder what a rewrite of this would be like with canonical queer Kirk in a relationship with Spock and McCoy and why he would choose to dance with her. Cause I think he should be able to just enjoy doing stuff like dancing and holding hands without it being romantic. AND THEN MCCOY WALKS INTO THAT OMG THE DRAMA
- Damn Kirk isn’t interested in Spock’s info dump about Brahms. Tragic.
- and they’re kissing
- The way Kirk just pushed her out of the way-
- YEAH SAVE YOUR BOYFRIEND SPOCK!!!
- Flint kinda wishes that the bot killed Kirk
youtube
- Yeah it sucks to be home schooled
- This is becoming like Twilight but without the baseball and vampires
- This is a horrible power imbalance between Flint and Rayna
- And they’re kissing (Nichelle nichols futurama clip where she says "I had to kiss Shatner) (edit: here's the clip at 1:26)
youtube
- WHY IS HE SHAKING HER LIKE THAT BRO WHAT THE FUCK
- Kirk’s ass damn why is Flint hiding the Ryetalyn
- “(Spock): Captain, I shall get the Ryetalyn.” “(Kirk): Why you?” “(Spock): There may be dangers within.” “(Kirk): Let’s find out.” “(Spock): Let me go alone captain.” “(McCoy): Why? Get to the point, Spock. If there is one.” “(Kirk): We’ll all go.” Kirk and McCoy ARE NOT about to let they’re boyfriend go into a dangerous area alone
- OMG SHES BALD! (She’s bald and she’s torturing people who have hair)
- “Her only flaw, she is not human.” THATS HER FLAW??? First off Spock is RIGHT THERE. Second I'd say the flaw is that she's being controlled by a awful man
- Wait what? this guy is DA VINCI?!? And still no bitches...
- “She is my handiwork, my property.” EW DISGUSTING KILL HIM
- HE JUST BLOOPED THE ENTERPRISE OUT OF EXISTENCE
- I’m giggling
Tumblr media
- “Give me back my ship. Your secret is safe with us.” YOU’RE JUST GONNA LEAVE HER?
- “Because you knew I could bring her emotions alive.” Bleh
- Kirk gets absolutely beat the fuck up
- “No. Do not order me. No one can order me.” YES GET IT! YES
- “She’s human. Down to the last blood cell she’s human. Down to the last thought, hope, aspiration, emotion. She’s human. Her human spirit is free. You have no power of ownership! She’s free to do as she wishes.” Kirk’s so happy for her!
- “No man beats me.” “I don’t want to beat you. This is no test of power. Rayna belongs to herself, and she claims the human right of choice. To be, as she wills. To do as she wills. To think as she wills.”
- Okay but she shouldn’t have to choose between two men. There’s so many more out there in the galaxy
- OH NO DHES SEAD
- “What happened?” “She loved you, captain.” Spock just admitted Kirk’s drop dead gorgeous
- This is giving boyfriend vs. father vibes which I hate. I hate that this is how women are treated. As burdens to be thrown from one man to the next. This is reminding me of A Dolls House by Henrik Ibsen it's a pretty short play and the ending is phenomenal for the time
- Kirk is lonely :(
- “If only I could forget.” Spock spends several seconds staring at Kirk and contemplating until McCoy comes in
“Oh thank heavens, sleeping at last.” McCoy just wants Kirk to get a good nights rest
- yeah
Tumblr media
- “You see, I feel sorrier for you I do for him…because you’ll never know the things that love can drive a man to. The ecstasies, the miseries. The broken rules, the desperate chances. The glorious failures, and the glorious victories. All of these things you’ll never know, simply because the word ‘love’ isn’t written into your book. Good night, Spock.” “Good night, Doctor.” WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT AND WHY HAVENT I SEEN AN EDIT TO THAT. Also now I REALLY wanna write a mcspirk fanfic based solely on THAT
- “I do wish he could forget her.” BOTH McCoy and Kirk wished for this and so Spock does something crazy for his loves omg omg I’m gonna throw up wtf
- there’s literally romantic music playing in the background as Spock leans down to mind meld and says “forget”
Well
Huntress' Fics
Note: All my fics are explicit and 18+ unless I say otherwise, and they are all private, so you will need an ao3 account to read them. :)
Anakin-centric
Covenant - Heir to the Empire under Emperor Kenobi, Anakin is instrumental in bringing peace to the galaxy. Though the clones have rights and a way out, Rex chooses to stay with Anakin, especially in the wake of his arranged marriage to end the budding rebellion. - (Anakin/Rex)
Her Majesty - Anakin is captured by the Zygerrian queen. - (Anakin/Miraj)
The Art of Seduction - Anakin struggles with his responsibilities to his men, and Hunter offers him a distraction. - (Anakin/Hunter)
Bad Batch-centric
Aloft - Echo rescues Crosshair on a prison transport to Tantiss, and the Batch join him on Rex’s Yavin IV hideout. Having Crosshair back doesn’t automatically erase what happened or mend the rifts that have been torn. - (Hunter/Crosshair)
Alight - Sequel to Aloft - (Hunter/Crosshair)
Deep In Their Bones - Post-E4 in S3 when Crosshair comes back. - (Hunter/Crosshair and Hunter/Crosshair/Wrecker)
Devotion - Hunter struggles with his jealousy over Phee and insecurities over Crosshair. Tech helps him. - (Hunter/Tech)
Fade Into the Dawn - Crosshair and Echo track down Hunter to bring him home. Imperial!Hunter - (Hunter/Crosshair/Echo)
Lead Me Unto Temptation - On their first mission for Cid, Hunter is captured by Zygerrians and sold off to be a sex slave before he and the Batch can escape. He contacts Crosshair for an extraction, even though that means calling the Empire. - (Hunter/Crosshair)
Lead Me Unto Freedom - Sequel to Lead Me Unto Temptation - (Hunter/Crosshair)
Of Feather and Bones - Hunter and Wrecker get captured and taken to Tantiss in a bid to rescue Omega. But with Crosshair as uncooperative as ever, Wrecker injured, and Tech alive, albeit now a brainwashed operative of Hemlock’s, Hunter’s plan of escape is not quite as clear or easy as he’d hoped. - (Hunter/Crosshair, Hunter/Wrecker, Hunter/Tech, and Hunter/Crosshair/Tech/Wrecker)
Poisoned Waters - The Batch rescue Crosshair from Tantiss, but that doesn’t automatically fix everything. A “treasure hunt” with Phee goes badly, exposing Crosshair to an aphrodisiac toxin… and leaving Hunter to “help” him through it. - (Hunter/Crosshair)
Rapture [Series; WIP] - When Crosshair discovers that Tech is behind the mask of CX-2 on Tantiss, he tries to reach out to him to see if something familiar might bring back the brother he knew. And he has to face the consequences of his failure alone. - (Polybatch)
Salvation [Series; WIP] - Hunter and Crosshair get assigned to a mission with the 501st Legion... Turns out that the regs have things to teach them, too. - (Hunter/Crosshair, Hunter/Crosshair/Rex, and more to be added)
Silhouette - Hunter is captured and taken to Tantiss instead of Omega... where he reunites with Crosshair. - (Hunter/Crosshair)
Stardust [Series; WIP] - Captured on Zygerria, Hunter and Crosshair become prisoners of Queen Miraj Scintel. She will try and break them, and their fellow captives, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex, through every possible way, stopping at nothing, even rape. But when Hunter and Crosshair have yearned for each other, it may only bring them together the way they've always wanted - and maybe even win them other lovers on the way. - (Hunter/Crosshair to Hunter/Crosshair/Anakin/Rex)
This Is How We Rise Up [WIP] - A darker version of Hunter from the future shows up on Kamino when the Batch are having their standoff and drags Crosshair along with them when they leave. - (Hunter/Crosshair, Hunter/Echo, Hunter/Hunter, and Hunter/Hunter/Crosshair)
Worlds Apart [WIP] - Though the pregnancy was an accident, Hunter didn’t regret it. How could he? He can’t deny what Crosshair means to him. But the child doesn’t make it, or so Nala Se tells him. Forcibly transitioned from omega to alpha, Hunter has to cope with his new designation as well as grief for the child he never got to know. And then the Empire forms and all his attempts at rebuilding something come crumbling down. - (Hunter/Crosshair to Polybatch)
Written Down in Eternity - Crosshair noncons Hunter after his capture on Daro. Recovery is not easy for Hunter. Slowburn Crosshunt - (Hunter/Crosshair)
"UNFORTUNATE TURN OF EVENTS"
Hunter, Wrecker, Fennec Shand One Shot Alt Universe Fic
Tumblr media
 SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3, EP 8-YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Word Count: 537
Background: Hunter and Wrecker take a job with Fennec Shand in exchange for Intel on the Empire...with an unfortunate turn of events. For whom?
Warning: Swearing, canon-typical violence. SPOILERS S3!
(Credit: Cool moving star dividers by @4ngelic-wh1spers )
Tumblr media
From the very beginning Hunter and Wrecker had misgivings about working with Fennec Shand.
Aside from her trying to maim or kill Hunter she took off with Omega, a terrified child.
He never knew where her loyalties lay. And she didn’t believe in even a smidgen of selflessness.
Now being rudely ordered around by this cold woman on some swampy ass crack of a planet for intel...that he wasn’t sure they’d ever see.
But he and Wrecker really had nothing to bargain with.
Now she was giving them both crap about losing Omega.
Honey, you don't know shit about where we’ve been or what we’ve experienced to protect our family.
Plus, she was willing to kidnap A KID for MONEY.
Fennec claimed to stop going after the bounty when whomever hired Fennec thought Omega would be safer with them. And she refused to tell them who that was.
Mighty nice of you, sweetheart.
“Guess they were wrong about that.” She taunted them.
Wrecker shot back “Guess you’ll work for anybody, as long as you get paid.”
Hunter was starting to lose his patience...and a bit of his empathy. At least for sketchy characters who dangled important info that would help a cause or an innocent person’s quality of life, just out of reach.
He knew he was becoming bitter. Compassion Fatigue.
“Good guys or bad guys, their money is all the same.” She trotted out THAT platitude.
“Well, money isn’t everything.” Hunter countered.
“Spoken by someone who doesn't have any.” Fennec sneered.
Under the helmet Hunter ground his teeth. She had no right to judge him and his brothers this way. Surely, she started from nothing? Didn’t most of the galaxy?
Tumblr media
The bounty was bagged and brought back into Fennec’s ship.
“Pleasure doing business with you.”
“Hang on. You promised information.” Hunter angrily demanded.
“I didn’t say I had it with me. But I’ll get it.” Fennec stared down at them. “After I deliver Sylar to my client."
“That’s NOT what we agreed on.” Hunter and Wrecker were PISSED, it showed on their faces.
“You can either fight me or trust me. Take your pick.”
Hunter and Wrecker glanced at one another stone faced.
She’s fucking with us.
“Good choice. I’ll be in touch.”
Then the confident, cold-blooded Fennec Shand made a HUGE mistake.
She turned her back on Hunter.
He shot her, his blaster was NOT set to stun.
She fell onto the gangplank, still somewhat alive. Instantly regretting that she mistook both clones for harmless fools.
Hunter stepped up and leaned down to face Fennec.
“You’re right, we’re credit-less. That’ll change when we turn in your bounty and scrap your ship. We also have your contacts and intel now, too.”
Fennec gasped, clinging onto the last shred of life.
“Too late for YOU to learn a valuable lesson: Don’t FUCK with people who have loved ones...cause we’ll do ANYTHING to secure their safety.”
Wrecker yanked up Fennecs dying body from the gangplank so he could pilot her ship. “Heh, didn’t she say something earlier about eventually everyone’s luck runs out?”
“Guess she thought it didn’t apply to HER.” Hunter walked off to pilot the Marauder.
Maker help ANYONE standing in the way of Clone Force-99.
I know so many people have said this already and in much more coherent ways than I can but the way luke was depicted in tbobf (and im not just talking about the uncanny valley cgi… why did they not just recast him orz) makes me so frustrated even now. Especially now. Maybe i’m just a delusional dinluker but i really really believe that luke skywalker needed to be in the mandalorian season3.
I cannot believe luke skywalker would make grogu choose between his dad and becoming a jedi. It is just so explicitly ooc for him. I’m reading the destiny path comic right now and there are so many pages that show luke struggling with the worry that he can’t be a Jedi because he can’t let go of his attachments to his friends. and i know this is a core theme of luke as a character, it’s not new, but the comic is just so explicit about it and goes into depth in a way that it doesn’t have time to explore on screen
It explores luke’s worry about disappointing yoda when he left dagobah to go help leia and han in cloud city, and how he feels about ben and yoda refusing to talk to him anymore or help him through the force because he didn’t make his jedi training a priority above everything and everyone else, like a Selfless Jedi should. and grogu goes through the literal exact same thing. and luke reacts in the exact same way yoda and ben did to him?
In the comic, the radio silence from his teachers eats at him so badly and adds to the struggle he’s going through after finding out Vader is his father and losing his hand. He feels abandoned and afraid and, even though these feelings lead him to realise he can make his own way as a jedi, I just don’t think he’d inflict the same thing on grogu. Even if i were to look at it from a perspective of luke being forced to make his own way without his teachers made him a stronger jedi - so maybe he’s doing the same for grogu?
After all, I know grogu is such a young child so I also understand the series tries to come at it from the angle of respecting a child’s wants and needs, not forcing him to commit to training if he doesn’t want to. But I just don’t understand why luke couldn’t join grogu every now and then. Teach him some jedi stuff on the weekends. They make it seem like luke has nothing better to do anyways, he’s got droids building his school for him and seems to spend his days entirely with grogu anyway. If he went back to tatooine with grogu at the end of tbobf, i just think there would have been so much to explore between luke and literally any of the characters. din and boba specifically of course but if that led to luke in mando s3 there could’ve been so much potential.
Perhaps they just needed a reason for a big emotional scene for grogu to choose his path and his destiny. Perhaps they couldn’t put luke skywalker in the show too much for fear of throwing off the sequels. There’s the argument that luke already had his screen time and, trust me, I also hate the re-usual of existing characters to the point where they’re wringed out of any substance and have been so fleshed-out and developed it’s almost grotesque to force them to stay in the show any longer. but star wars doesnt have a problem with that for so many other characters anyway.
I just wanted to see grogu growing up to be both a Mandalorian and a Jedi. It would’ve been so perfect with the Mand’alor Din storyline too. TBB S3 FINALE SPOILERS!!!!
WE GOT A HAPPY ENDING! I REPEAT. WE GOT A HAPPY ENDING!!!!
Omg omg omg omg omg
I'm feeling so many emotions right now I can barely comprehend anything.
ECHO SURVIVED!!! YESSSS. And he was an absolute boss. Like always. And such a chaotic mood. And him knowing where Omega is cause she's doing what he would've done. (Not Crosshair asking if the chaos was from Echo or Omega🤣🤣🤣 Everyone knowing how chaotic they truly are.)And then he just formed the most productive tag team with Omega. And he saved the clones, and was saved by one of them in return AND HE SURVIVED TANTIS.
Omega being a big sister to the other kids. And straight up knocking that other doctor out with the droid. She didn't waste a single second. And that last moment between her and Nala Se. So short. So important. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Rampart can fucking die and I'm glad he did. That man really thought he was gonna be the next boss. Well. Not with Nala Se around.
HAMLOCK IS DEAD. CROSSHAIR MADE THE SHOT AT OMEGAS SIGNAL. YESSS.
The hug.
Tarkin. I'm sick of seeing your face. Please go away.
Emiry going on to work with Echo and deciding to help others after realizing that she worked on the wrong side till now.
They saved all of the children! And their well. And not hurt. And they weren't involved in any fighting. They really got the best possible ending with getting of the planet so soon. So glad they didn't got involved in the fighting to become even more traumatized.
Just. Omegas time skip design. She matured so much. (HUNTERS BANDANA IN HER HAIR) She's grown so much it's unbelievable.
They all choose what they wanted! Echo was able to go back on his journey to save more clones, doing what ever he can. Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair stayed on Pabu and retired. (Crosshair joined the one hand club with Echo.) And Omega made her own choice, following Echo, joining the rebellion to help the Galaxy.
Trending 27th - April 2024
What do you think the inside of the Star Nomad would look like, and what kind of rooms would there be?
Where do I even begin? Since the Star Nomad would be carrying folks back to their planets, I think there’d be hallways upon hallways on every deck, and there’d be either staircases, an elevator system, or both. Perhaps the Lords of Illumination could provide their own light for the entire ship, if they’re among the refugees, that is.
Maybe one of the decks would be reserved as some kind of temporary zoo. Of course, the larger animals, including the pit monster from The Birthday Boy, would have to be shrunk down by Neckbeard’s minimizing spell.
With the Watchdogs on board, their sleeping space would be just as condensed as their sleeping quarters on the Skullship. We already know Hater would have to share a room with Wander, but in the case of Sylvia and Peepers, I would imagine they’d take turns steering the ship and napping (imagine Peepers standing on a crate when he’s at the helm). The main four would have to live right under the helm where the star-shaped window is.
As more folks are being dropped off on their home planets, more rooms would become vacant, thus making the perfect opportunity for Wander to reserve those rooms for villains and keep them safe from Star Force Enforcement Force until he finds places where they can keep them safe (e.g. Sourdough/Evil Sandwich wrapped in a refrigerator at Blarpee’s).
I have been imagining the Star Nomad acting as some kind of cruise line with so many people on board. Clancy and Nancy of the Fancy Shmancys are in the hotel business, so maybe they’d know how to keep things in orderly fashion from buffets to recreational activities. Oh, and maybe there’d be a big room similar to the United Nations where the rulers of their planets can discuss their plans for the restored galaxy and such.
Maybe, juuuhhhhhst maybe, there’d be a spot somewhere under the stern where the fan that blows into the orbble wand masts is powered. You know how in Yogi’s Gang, the flying ark is powered by Magilla Gorilla running on a treadmill getting bananas in front of him? That particular spot would be for Huckleberry Knucklehead, and in front of him would be a lollipop. Worry not, though, for his teeny tiny parents would be there to watch over him. For every planet stop, he gets a lollipop.
There’s no telling where the ships owned by Starbella, Ripov, and Major Threat are, but considering the latter was said to be a recurring character in S3, I’m sure he’d hang around on the Star Nomad to be Hater’s mentor whenever necessary.
See how much creativity you can put into WOY if you put your mind to it? I look forward to seeing fan content related to the Star Nomad.
TMNT 2012 Remastered Quick Notes
Basically the 2012 series but changed to my liking. Here’s what I would do:
Leo’s eyes will be hazel instead of blue cause I said so. Actually all the boys would have brown eye colors to match with Splinter and Karai to REALLY show that they are in fact biological related.
Mikey - light brown
Donnie - reddish brown (like canon)
Raph & Leo - hazel
Leo and Karai would have NO romance plot. Leo's "feelings" for Karai are actually a familiar connection, as if he already knows her (cause Splinter would always tell stories about his daughter, so in a way Leo already knows her), but he doesn't realize this until the reveal in season 2.
We would actually see the seasons change, meaning April and Casey would have different outfits depending on the season. The Turtles would also wear some layers to keep them warm during the fall and winter seasons.
April's design is slightly changed. Instead of shorts and leggings she wears jeans. Her top, ugg boots, and hair style remain the same. Her hairstyle changes over the course of the series
Season 1-2: low ponytail with occasionally switching to a bun when training with the others Season 3: Hair is slightly longer, sometimes in a ponytail or a braid Season 4 (space arc): Pixie cut, cut it short so hair doesn't get in her face when wearing the space helmet Season 4-5: Hair grew after a short time skip, hair is now in a bob cut
Karai’s hairstyle also changes. When locked in Shredder’s prison in S2, her hair grows longer to show the months she's been locked up. By S4 her hair is down to her shoulders and tied into a half updo. The blonde in her hair also fades away symbolizing that she is distancing herself from the Shredder.
Donnie and April have a slow burn, friends to lovers, love story. Full explanation on how I'd do this HERE.
Season 3 and onward, Leo would wear a leg brace as well as noticeable scars from his fight with Shredder. All major scars the Turtles get are permanent and stay on them
Irma and Rook are the same person, Irma is not Kraang Subprime in disguise. Irma lives on the farmhouse with the others, she is revealed to be an Utrom agent in mid season 3 named Rook who was sent to keep an eye on April and the Turtles. Full explanation HERE.
No going 6 months back in time for the Space arc, the boys instead are given 6 months to collect the pieces of the black hole generator before the Triceratons do, who have the Earth under the control. Think of it like a hostile takeover. Meanwhile on Earth, Splinter, Karai and the Mutanimals forma rebelling to fight against the Triceratons to give the Turtles some more time.
Better build to the Triceraton invasion also. If he hinted out during midseason 3, with Bishop (who would replace Kurtzman) warning the turtles and Mutanimals that there are greater threats out there in the galaxy besides the Kraang.
Mona Lisa and Sal Commander working for Lord Dregg is revealed (to the audience) much sooner. (Think of it like Meg working for Hades in Disney's Hercules, they have no choice and are under a contract because they "owe" Dregg)
Slash would be an antagonist for a little bit longer, but he'd still get redeemed by mid S3.
Timothy aka the Pulverizer returns! Just replace the Brainworm Karai arc with an arc on retro mutagen and Donnie trying to help Timothy adjust to his new half human half mutant forms like Karai transforming from human to snake at will. Timothy can be similar to Sunita from Rottmnt and become a slime person, and can use his powers to be a superhero like he always wanted. Maybe even joined the Mighty Mutanimals.
Leo and Casey would have a romance start to bloom between them in season 3-4. They'd officially get together in S5. Full explanation HERE.
Mona Lisa and Sal Commander are more present in the S4 space and after the Evil of Dregg episode, Sal and Mona occupancy the Turtles on the rest of their mission to save the Earth and stop the Triceratons as a way to repay for their dishonorable actions of betraying them.
Mona Lisa starts living on Earth sooner, after the space arc has ended, she meets the Mutanimals and after the final battle against the Triceratons, they offer for her to join their team and she accepts. Full explanation HERE.
The Mighty Mutanimals would get more focus. There’s a comic book issue that explain the origin of how they met in the 2012 series so I would make that an episode. Let’s add more filler episodes where the side characters are the main characters.
Shinigami would be revealed to be a villain by the end of S4 and he'd assist Tiger Claw during the Kavaxas arc (yes, she would eventually get redeemed, cause I want shinirai) Full explanation HERE.
April and Casey are more involved in the S5 Halloween arc and team up and befriend Renet. Full explanation HERE.
Alopex would team up with the Turtles to help them take down her brother Tiger Claw and Kavaxas. TC would get redeemed because of his sister's influence and protect her when Kavaxas attacks her.
Raph gets the electric powers in the When Worlds Collide special instead of Mikey. Also replace Karai with Slash in that arc, Casey gets involved and Fugitoid returns, now working for Dregg because he has been rewired/brainwashed into thinking the Turtles are his enemies.
80s crossover eps in both S4 and S5 would be removed entirely.
There would be an actual finale where the Turtles and all their allies they made throughout the show team up with their future selves (the mutant apocalypses Turtles) to save their futures and fix history, because we learn from Renet that there's a error and how that mutagen bomb was never supposed to go off. The show would end with the MA!Turtles and the present Turtles stopping the bomb and saving their histories. MA! Turtles would then return to their now fixed future, seeing their timeline is now saved (friends are all alive, Earth is saved, they have careers and families of their owns) and they get their happy ending.
A Musing of Omega's Potential Future
Bad Batch S3 spoilers below the cut!
Okay, okay, okay
So, there's a lot of speculation on the future of Omega, what an older Omega would be. A future clone mercenary, a rebellion pilot, etc.
With the revelation of S3 Ep 3, there is a new course.
What we know is that Omega's blood has the ability to successfully transfer a subject's m-count without degeneration of the material.
Does this mean Omega herself has a high m-count? Does this mean that she is force sensitive?
Well, to be honest, we don't know YET.
We just know her blood has the ability to somehow aid in a successful m-count transfer, that's IT, right? (Please correct me if I'm wrong).
But let's get to my point.
IF Omega is potentially force sensitive, I've seen it said that it's not likely that she's gonna end this season lightsabers a-swingin' (though that would be fucking dope).
I think that's an accurate analysis because the only way I can see Omega wielding a lightsaber at the end of this season is if Ventress just steel chairs her way into the custody battle that Hunter and Crosshair are currently in.
So where does that leave us?
With a potentially Force-sensitive Omega, we may expect her to do something with those abilities, and, I think, in true Omega fashion, what she'd do is help others. It is in her nature, it is the CORE of who Omega is, it is literally what her leitmotif is symbolic of.
So, I think and I mull this over, and, what I see for a Force-sensitive Omega, her future in helping people, I do believe she would join the rebellion. But beyond that, I think she would learn about the Force. Because beyond the willingness to help others, the other defining characteristic of our best gal is her curiosity. She would do whatever she could to learn whatever she could about the Force, the teachings of the Jedi (probably through highly illegal means, which is another defining characteristic of our baby girl).
With all this in mind, I don't think it's too outlandish to say that, in the course of time, it's possible that Omega may even become one of the founders of the Hidden Path. Helping Force-sensitives escape and hide from the Empire, for sure, but in the same vein, I think, post Empire, I think Omega would grow into some keeper of Force-knowledge, with all that she has learned. Not a Jedi. Some sort of Acolyte, I think. Helpful, yes, insightful as well.
Overall, as I said, using her gift to truly help the galaxy.
