As I've gotten deeper in conversion, I have increasingly imagined jewish life throughout time. And what I mean by that is...

So when I looked at the Western Wall before this (maybe a few years ago), I just saw a wall. It held no deeper meaning than that. I imagined nothing when I saw that.

But now when I look at the wall or even when I'm praying idly, I'm imagining myself in the temple when it stood there. It's bright outside - a summer day so bright, I think the temple will blind me. A soft wind surrounds me. I'm stood in the middle of a huge crowd of people, simply observing. Women pass by me in small crowds, laughing and talking. Some of these women are wrangling their small children who keep running away, laughing like it's a game. And men walk by smelling of spices. The air is light, the city around bustling with people living fulfilling, meaningful jewish life. The wall now symbolizes that jewish life, and even though it's not just about the temple when I imagine it, it means something to me.

I think that's the result of seeing myself in judaism, turning the "you" into a "we," and I feel about this what I must imagine a married couple feels.

Something just occurred to me.

Why the hell hasn't anyone made a Parks and Rec inspired "who broke it" animated meme with Guardians of the Galaxy? It'd be perfect!!

Every other fandom has one!

Envision this:

Nebula as Ron, Mantis as Leslie, Rocket as Tom, Peter as Ben, Drax as Jerry, Gamora as April and Groot As Donna.

You could swap a few characters and it'd still work. In fact, I can think of plenty of different ways this could go. With characters here as well as ones I haven't listed like Yondu, Cosmo and Kraglin. And I even think this dynamic would work great with the video game Guardians crew if you just swap out Nebula for Nikki.

I'm not really buying the whole Mew thing tbh, not because of their acting but because I feel like Ray is hanging on to something that he doesn't know he already put behind him. I think his loneliness is telling him lies, not in the past but in the present. he found something new in San, he just doesn't dare to go all in. yet.

I'd never thought much about the 'quasar' in Shooting Quasar Dragon until I went down a YT rabbit role (as one does) yesterday and it came up in a video about space mysteries. As much as I love space, I don't really have that much knowledge on it, so previously I thought it probably just had to do with stars since Yusei's other two dragons do. It just made sense. Except that it doesn't have to do with stars at all. Not really.

When quasars were first observed, astronomers didn't know what to make of them. They thought they were stars -- stars in our galaxy even, except that the data they collected was... weird, which led to them eventually concluding that they were very distant stars. It wasn't until much later that they discovered quasars aren't stars at all.

They're entire galaxies with supermassive black holes at the center.

Specifically, what has been concluded: "As matter in a quasar/black hole’s accretion disk heats up, it generates radio waves, X-rays, ultraviolet and visible light. The quasar becomes so bright that it’s able to outshine entire galaxies. But remember … quasars are very far away. They’re so far from us that we only observe the active nucleus, or core, of the galaxy in which they reside. We see nothing of the galaxy apart from its bright center."

And now I'm emotional about Shooting Quasar Dragon all over again for entirely new reasons.
