it's so funny how the people who constantly whine about the creative choices in a story are often out of touch with the said story.

bc why bring up celeborn in a conversation about galadriel x sauron and why they shouldn't be together when finrod is right there and the actual conflict in galadriel's storyline is that she has feelings for the man who killed her beloved brother?

like, why was galadriel obsessed with killing sauron? whom was she avenging? FINROD! she never brought up celeborn when talking about her destiny to kill sauron. it was always about finrod!

during their fights, finrod's dagger is always either brought up (the fireplace scene) or between the two (the finale raft scene).

the actual and the only third between galadriel and sauron is finrod!

s1 begins with finrod warning galadriel about the temptations of the darkness, in s1 finale sauron takes on finrod's form to persuade her to be on his side, even in s2 we see galadriel thinking about finrod and then having sauron call her in her mind!

these two are the most important individuals in galadriel's life!

it is about galadriel's love for her brother vs. her feelings for halbrand.

Just saw about the news "Rings of Power" has cast Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan in roles for season 3!!! 😀 I've been a fan of both for years and they're great actors. Jamie's is a series regular while Eddie's is recurring. I do think Jamie is an elf or human, while Eddie is likely a dwarf and possibly Durin's brother.

With Jamie there had been rumors that he had been cast since Megacon Orlando as he told fans that he finally was cast in a non-villain role and was very excited for the project. Seeing the articles, especially Deadline's, that he's not only a series regular but it is for the "high born knight" casting call that was posted in January he very likely is going to be Celeborn, Glorfindel, or Anarion. The show's writers already told us at SD Comic Con that all 3 of those characters will be coming on the show soon and with the time jump it works for all 3.

Now also tagging this as Haladriel as the Deadline article speculated he could be Celeborn and mentioned that Halbrand/Sauron was "Galadriel's love interest". 😏 Some fans might now know this but back before season 1 aired various articles talking about the show all said that he was her love interest, which shocked the fandom as they didn't know the show was going to say that Celeborn died. So very interesting that Deadline worded it this way again as a lot of us are wondering how the show is going to do this not only with them having had Haladriel being a romantic ship, but how popular it is. I always said I hope Celeborn is played by an actor I'm a fan of as I want to like him too and be ok with Galadriel being with him, that he looks a bit like Charlie, is close in age to Morfydd and Charlie, and I am a fan of Jamie and I do see a resemblance. LOL 😀 Will be interesting if the show does go full love triangle as I don't see them ever getting rid of the Haladriel dynamic either, but more that Galadriel is always torn between the two of them and with Sauron always trying to reach out to her all the way till Frodo destroys the One Ring.

But again he very well could also be Glorfindel or Anarion as they should be in season 3 as well.

So again I'm very happy to see these two have been cast and to find out who they're playing. We'll get more casting news soon that will help us figure out more who exactly they're playing and the season's storylines.

Oh my god... why am I coming across this bullshit ?! No, Galadriel is definitely not done with Sauron after the season 2 finale ! She is in no way free in spirit and mind ! Damn, Sauron forcibly bound her to him by blood ! Are you being stupid on purpose ?! And of course... Mister Celeborn would be the key to Galadriel's happiness. The man from whom even in Tolkien's texts she spends a lot of time apart and who is not more important than that in the arc of our lady of light. I swear this kind of shit annoys me.

Yo what are we going to do when Celeborn rolls up next season? Accept that our girl Gal is going to be married to that piece of wet toast for eternity after 2 seasons of FIREWORKS with Hot Sauron? Not to mention her best friend is low-key in love with her and I would DIE for that elf and his hair and if anything hurts him I'm going to throw myself off a cliff.

(edit to add that I have read the books so I do know that book Celeborn is more exciting than movie Celeborn, I'm just dubious about how they're going to build a convincing love story for them, if that is the plan. Hence why I feel like he could end up feeling like wet toast compared to Hot Sauron. Okay bye)

i'm going to be completely honest with ya'll.

i don't hate elrond x galadriel kiss. why? bc aint nobody shipping these two for real. the show can have this arrange pair up while we can ship sauron x galadriel with no shame and stop making excuses for ourselves to the lorebros.

also, this probably means that they won't bring in celeborn, or will but in late s4 at the earliest. galadriel is married to celeborn so he can be used against haladriels better. but elrond x galadriel will be ambiguous at most.

it actually gives me some hope that they will experiment with these dynamics more freely, and maybe after seeing how popular haladriel is, tap into it more boldly.
