Hello! I was curious... Do the coins in TNP have designs, or are they completely smooth? :0
they do! the gold Adranian coins (which is what Clementine has) have the symbol of the king/king's house which is the swooping hawk that we'll see Duncan wearing later. that's basically the royal sigil of Adrania, and we'll see wardens, soldiers, and other high-ranking politicians or wealthy Adranian families wearing it throughout the game.
silver coins have a merchant ship on them, and bronze coins have the moon on one side, and the sun on the other side (to represent the Wolfmother's children, but to avoid directly printing the image of a god on money). Gael is different in that their gold coin actually has a whale on it, since whaling and fishing is their main source of income (versus Adrania, which in the south has decent farming and functions as a massive trade hub between/with Gael and Yulan). their silver coins have a wolf on one side, sun and moon on the other (same reason as Adranian's have it on their bronze) and then Gaelish bronze coins just have a silhouette of the southern mountain range and sea stacks.
Gael also has whale bone coins and Yulan has shell coins, but those don't get traded with Adrania. only the metal coins, and that's just because gold is gold; it doesn't change much of the value, it's only aesthetics, and the flow of coins between Gael, Adrania, and Yulan (Adrania's main international trade partner) is vital for all three countries.

A new The Boys series spinoff, The Boys: Mexico, is in the works at Amazon.
Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle) is writing the script and executive producing. Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal are set to executive produce and are considering taking on acting roles though neither would be major roles. A search is currently underway for a co-showrunner.
The team behind The Boys: Mexico, which will be shot in the Latin American country, is working on budgets for the new series and they have yet to begin casting. Details regarding the premise are being kept under wraps.

“In the realm of betrayal, you played your part, but remember this: Karma is a patient hunter, and its aim is true.”
Name : Gael (m.) | Gwendolyn (f.)
Age : They're in their late twenties
Height : 5’9
Appearance : G. stands at 5’9”. Despite the fact that their clothes are often in muted shades of black and red, it can’t hide the fact that they are undoubtedly muscled and thus very very hot thank you very much. However, their clothes – often sturdy and made out of materials such as black leather – hide a myriad of scars and burns from an innocent onlooker’s prying eyes, while their hood does well to conceal their scarred face. Male G. possess long silver grey hair that falls into their eyes and trails down past their nape, while Female G.’s hair reaches her lower chest with sharp, calculating features and glassy gray eyes. They are often dressed for a upending of the social hierarchy for combat or simply just practically, in form-fitting combat wear. Combat boots are of course a must, along with gloves. They have one particularly nasty scar on their chest, beginning from sternum to their lower abdomen, along with one on their neck. (ahem, credits for the thirst comments goes to my partner in crime @headdaze once again cough cough)
Personality : G., initially appearing as a quiet observer, is often misunderstood and stigmatized by others. People perceive them as shifty, cunning, and cruel, categorizing him as a villain. However, whether these assumptions are mere rumors or the cold truth, G. pays no heed to any. On the positive side, G. possesses exceptional intelligence, ranking high on the IQ scale, and demonstrates keen observation skills. They adapt easily to their surroundings and crafts effective strategies for various situations. Additionally, their loyalty to family and the Legion is unwavering, and they stand up for and support those they care about, even risking their own well-being. While they can be intimidating, G. exercises their "scary wolf" persona to protect their loved ones, berating and throwing shades at those who threaten them. Their friends understand his true nature and appreciate their loyalty, allowing them to be themselves. However, G. also exhibits negative traits. Their preference for staying silent and wearing a blank expression can make them appear detached or unapproachable. Some may find their intimidating presence and tendency to violence unsettling and downright frightening, further fueling the rumors surrounding them. G’s decision to give up on changing others' perceptions may lead to a sense of apathy or indifference, as they choose to do whatever they want without concern for how others perceive them. Despite their loyalty, they may come across as harsh, cold and confrontational when defending their beliefs, using berating and shading as tactics to assert their presence.
Background : [CLASSIFIED] The Subject's background is shrouded in mystery, with no available data within official government systems. Extensive efforts have been made to uncover information regarding their origins, but all attempts have proven futile. It is believed that the subject intentionally erased or manipulated their past records to maintain anonymity and evade detection. The subject is the enigmatic leader of the Legion, an underground anti-government terrorist organization notorious for its activities against the established authorities. The subject is regarded as an extremely dangerous individual due to their position as the leader of the Legion. Despite their failed revolt against the Hightable three years ago, the subject is believed to have survived the subsequent purge. The details surrounding their survival and escape remain unknown, further adding to their enigmatic persona. Given the subject's status as a high-value target and the imminent threat they pose to national security, all authorized authorities, including military personnel, are granted permission to execute the subject on sight. It is imperative to neutralize their influence and disrupt Legion activities to safeguard national stability.
This file is considered highly sensitive and is exclusively intended for authorized government personnel with appropriate clearance levels. Unauthorized access, duplication, or dissemination of this information is strictly prohibited. [END OF FILE]
Likes : hoarding (anything really), tortoises, apples, eating metals (without rust of course), fighting, being understood, daydreaming, meat (especially smoked meat with no seasoning), lilies (especially the white ones), smoking whenever stressed or in a bad mood in general
Dislikes : liars, rats, their lactose intolerance, winter, overly salty food, rust (it ruins the taste), social injustice, getting wet, rainy days (those bring back terrible memories), excessive questions
Pet peeves : dusty surfaces, one uppers, sidewalk hoggers, being questioned for their decisions
Trivia :
has anginophobia i.e. the fear of being choked
Is allergic to the sun, staying under it for longer than a couple of minutes will leave them with angry red rashes, which itch a lot, like a LOT. it's not fatal, but inconvenient? Yes.
Smoking is their ideal sin, and they gladly embrace it.
During the Battle of Stellaris when the rebel forces were gaining ground in the [REDACTED) District, but the tides turned when the Master appeared. Consequently the rebel forces were completely crushed and the remaining forces, including G. had to retreat. The scar on their neck and chest is from that encounter, but to give them credit, they did return the favor.

I know we are all talking about Clemence and Jerome's love at first sight as well as Ling Yi and Olek's love at first sight and that's good! We should talk more about them!
But what no one is talking about is Jerome and Olek's Besties at First Sight. Like Jerome went "Thanks for the bread, man! You're the best bro ever! Btw, I think we should be crime buddies :)" meanwhile Olek also saw him and went "I am now gonna hang out with this stranger with a very distinctive skin colour, whom I would have definitely remembered seeing on board before but obviously cannot. We are gonna have so much fun ghost-hunting on a spooky ship :)"

Elia Suleiman and Gael García Bernal as themselves in It Must Be Heaven (2019, dir. Elia Suleiman)
(for the avoidance of doubt, this whole conversation apart from "Hello, my name is Hernando Cortes and I wanna conquer you" is in Spanish)
Transcript (English) below the jump.
Hey, what's up? No, I'm here. Waiting for a meeting with an American producer… well, she's not American. I don't know where she's from.
It's for a project on the conquest of Mexico, for the 500th anniversary of the conquest. About Cortes, Moctezuma and all that stuff. But they want to do it in English.
Yes, in English, can you imagine? They want the Spanish to speak English. And the indigenous to speak in Nahuatl or any other language. They don't care. So they'd sound like: "Hello, my name is Hernando Cortes and I wanna conquer you." or something like that.
It's going to be terrible, really. Terrible. No, I don't want to do it. I'll tell her no.
Anyway, I'm here with my friend Elia. Elia Suleiman. He's Palestinian. No, no, not Palestinian from Israel. He's Palestinian from Palestine. Yes, Palestinian from Palestine. From Palestine.
Listen, we'll talk later, OK? Sorry, I'll call you later. Ciao!

Hidden and left to rot
"Where are you two going?" Kelley started at her younger family members, that were sneaking into her mom's room Gael looked at her nervously. "I want to fond if there's something wrong. Tía Isabela is expessially upset lately." Kelley starled. "Really? You know what? I'm going to help"
Cracked au
CW: Potentially sensenitive topic
Her hands shook as she kept reading the old diary. She felt like her heart was stabbed with every word.
Her mom didn't stop loving her dad in the last few years. She never loved him. The only reason behind this marriage was because Bisabuela forced her to. If it weren't for her, Mama and Papa would never marry. Kelley just wouldn't exist. And this realization struck her hard. Her whole life existed only because Isabela was forced to marry a person she never wanted to. Carry a child she never wanted.
She felt her breathing getting heavier as her eyes were reading the neat text again and again. Where mama cried about the upcoming wedding. Not because of happiness, but because she was going to spend her life with Mariano. How she kept insulting a non-existing child that she was carrying under her growing belly. Nineteen-years-old could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Her mom didn't want her. And this realization hurts way too much.
A moment later, this painful sadness started to boil up inside, getting ready to turn into anger. Why didn't mom think about everyone else's feelings? She betrayed Dad, used his love just to make herself a good girl. It wasn't fair for him... For anyone.
Would Isabela force her to marry someone too? Kelley's hand clenched into fists without her wanting to.
"What is wrong?" She gritted her teeth at her cousin's voice. Of course, Gael already sensed her anger... or sadness... or whatever she felt. What did she feel?
"Kelley, what is this?" Leisha asked nervously, not being used to her sister getting so emotional. With a blank face, the eldest passed the diary and looked away, not bothering to see how the teen's face widened in shock. Kelley really didn't want to see her, anyone...
Gael winced in panic as he read the diary as well. He wanted to find something to understand why Tia was unhappy, not to hurt his primo segundo. "Hey, Kelley, it's okay."
"It's fucking not!" She yelled, stomping her foot in rage. Nothing was normal right now. The diary, the truth—Kelly'd rather forget this all. Why couldn't he just shut up and leave those problems be? Apparently, this shit started way before their whole generation was born! Why didn't Gael ignore it like adults always did?
"Listen..." He started trying to help, but Kelley didn't listen to him. She grabbed the diary out of her sister's hands, heading outside.
"Hey!" Leisha let out an indignant yelp that was left unnoticed by Kelley. She had better things to do.

Kelley walked down the stairs, seeing how her mama was fixing the flowers in a vase next to their family photo. "Listen here, mother." She yelled angrily; the word'mother' was bursting with sarcasm. Isabela looked surprised for a moment, but soon her expression got strict.
"What's with your tone?"
"Oh, nothing!" She rolled her eyes, glowing quietly, as she stood right in front of Isabela. "Just this." She threw the diary on a cabinet with a loud slap.
"What is..." Isabela started, but her voice got stuck as realization hit her. She gasped in shock, and her face became fearful. "Lelly..."
The young woman interrupted her. "Don't you fucking 'Lelly' me!" Her voice turned into screaming. How could she use those stupid nicknames right now? Isabela didn't call her 'Lelly' for years. "You lied to me!" She screamed,  anger was boiling up.
"I didn't lie to anyone!" Isabela yelled, causing her daughter to scoff. "And you had no right to look through my stuff!" She demanded, this time a bit more confidently.
"Well, excuse me!" Young woman threw her hands into the air. She felt like her heart was filled with poison and it kept leaking through her brain, splitting out. "It's just really fun to read how your own mother says that she hates you more than anything!"
"Do you think I've enjoyed this?! I never wanted kids!"
"Thank you for finally admitting it!" Kelley scoffed, towering over her mother. "You're manipulative bitch!
Isabela's eyes sparkled in rage that she had buried down for so long. "You have no right to talk with me like this." Right now, she didn't feel like she was in her forties; she felt like an angry teenager, filled with hatred.
Her daughter crossed her arms. "Why should I care?! You said you wished I was never born." She wiped her eyes, feeling the tears on her cheeks.
"It's not like this..."
"THEN WHAT IS IT?" Kelley yelled so loudly that she was sure that everyone in the house would hear it. "You're just was too weak to do what you want!"
"...Hey... Can we... just discuss it?" Both women winced at Gael's unsure demand as he slowly walked down to them. "I can feel you two are upset...".
Isabela's voice dropped, but it was still filled with anger. "I am fine."
"I'm not going to just discuss it!" Kelley breathed out. "This bitch deserves to be shouted at."
"IF YOU CALL ME LIKE THIS ONE MORE TIME..."
"Please!" Gael begged, as the true son of his mother, he preferred to keep things calm, but both Isabela and Kel ignored him.
"What about papa?!" Kelley was indignant, clenching her shaking fists. "What would he feel if he knew that you never loved him?"
It just wasn't fair. Not to her, not to anyone.
"Do you think it's fun being married to a person you never loved?" Isabela gasped in annoyance. "I wished to be free for years! But sometimes you can't be selfish! Sometimes you have to do things for the family's sake! Even if you hate it!"
Gael stood between them, spreading his arms to create distance between mother and daughter. "Let's all take a deep breath and talk it through." He begged, trying to calm down both women.
"You know what? I don't care!" Kelley muttered through her teeth. "I'm going into my room. Not like you would care anyway."
Isabela and Gael stared at how she rushed upstairs. A few seconds later, both of them heard a loud sound of the slamming door.

For angsty sentences, I vote for #18, whichever characters. >> (honestly a good Gael/Logan prompt tho)
JUST REMEMBER, YOU ASKED FOR THIS!!! >) them leaving the bar on halloween!
Angsty Sentence Starts #18 - “No, I don’t owe you that”
+++
“What,” Logan asks as the car pulls out of its spot. “Something’s got you pissed off.”
Gael could say that it’s because they’re both drunk and Logan shouldn’t be driving but then he’d counter that the car can drive it’s damn self that’s half the fucking point. So he decides, to hell with it, and says, “You should have at least warned me you were going to show up.”
It is the wrong thing to say.
“Warned you?” Logan scoffs, incredulous. “Why would you need a warning when your boyfriend shows up? When you didn’t even come see him for his birthday?”
“You said you were busy and you wanted to do something later. And you hate sharing your birthday with Halloween weekend.”
“Dude I say that every year.”
And every year he complains whenever Gael tried to arrange something for them, but this time they’re wise enough to not say that. Instead they wrap back around to the original point: “If you say you’re not going to come out and I say I’m going to go out with friends, then, you at least owe me a warning that you’re going to intrude.”
“Be for fucking real, babe.” He glares out the windshield, but there is enough light from the dash and a streetlight that Gael can see him roll his eyes. “I don’t owe you that.”
“The fuck you mean you don’t owe me that? I don’t intrude when you’re going out with your friends.”
“Because you told me you don’t like hanging out with my friends,” Logan counters as if it’s obvious. “And now you’re telling me that I can’t want to meet your new friends? What, so I wouldn’t see that you were flirting with some other guy?”
Gael stiffens at the accusation. “I wasn’t—” he starts, then realizes that it wouldn’t sound convincing enough. So he echoes, “I wasn’t,” voice dull in the silence of the car.
“Can you think about how I felt, walking in and seeing you giving him all of your attention? You didn’t even notice anyone else until I walked up.” Logan is determined to drive the nail in deeper and gestures wildly with his hand. “Does he know you have a boyfriend? Or were you keeping me a secret from them the way you kept them a secret from me?”
Gael inhales sharply, the defense coming automatically to their tongue, because no, their friends are definitely aware of Logan and his intrusion today was probably just the icing on the cake of their opinions of him.
But Logan cuts them off, hearing only the gasp and misunderstanding what it was supposed to mean. “Don’t act like you’re so surprised! I want to know these things about you, babe, but I can’t if you keep cutting me off.”
“I told you I was going out with friends!” Gael doesn’t mention that telling him was a mistake because that was how he even got the name of the bar in the first place.
“Yeah! Your new friends! That I don’t know! Of course I wanted to make sure they were okay people, and instead I found you two steps from cheating on me.” Logan slams a hand on the steering wheel, then grips it with one choking hand.
In the silence, beneath the simmering tension of their anger, Gael tries to look at it logically. Had he been flirting with Liam? Alright, maybe. But that had been the limit, just some innocent flirting with a cute friend who smiled at them like they were worth smiling at.
Gael hadn’t wanted to cross any line — not with their friendship, not with the others of Liam’s group (because he still considers it them versus him, he’s still on the outside, the Knights of the Round and Mordred), and certainly not with Logan.
“I promise that it’s nothing to worry about,” Gael finally says, reaching out across the center console and resting a hand on Logan’s thigh. There’s a second before Logan covers Gael’s hand with his own. “They know that we’re dating.”
With a heavy sigh, accepting the apology, Logan asks, “Where’s your car? I’ll drop you off.”
Gael tilts his head back against the headrest, watching the traffic at the streetlight as they drive through the intersection. His car is parked out front of Liam’s apartment building. The last thing he wants is to tell Logan where Liam lives. “It doesn’t matter. I don’t want to drive right now. I’m drunk.”
Logan grunts.
Tired and resigned, Gael squeezes Logan’s thigh in what he hopes is a reassuring manner. “We’ll just go back to your place. I’ll call a car from there tomorrow if you’ve got work in the morning.” A beat, then they add, “I’ll need a toothbrush.”
“Fine,” is Logan’s answer, but he let’s Gael’s hand remain on his leg so it’s a good sign.
“I’m sorry we didn’t do anything for your birthday,” Gael says, because it needs to be said before the argument can be laid to rest.
Logan shrugs. “It’s whatever,” which is a lie, but not the biggest he’s ever said.
“I made reservations at The Little Door on the sixth for us.”
“The sixth,” he echoes, in a tone that means damn, that far away?
Gael hesitates, then asks, “Do you want to do something sooner?” They bring up their mental calendar because the last thing they need is for Logan to see them trying to work around other events. Temmy has already reminded him that Mateo’s birthday is on the seventh several times and they have his football game on the eighth.
Logan gestures airily with his other hand, leaving the one on Gael’s on his leg. “Naw, the sixth is fine.”
“Alright,” Gael says weakly. “I’ll send you a calendar note.”
