well, @brandinotbroke just gave my ego the hugest boost with this tag game! I really shouldn't play this while in a bad mood tho :p
What’s your favourite sims death? I would have to say...probably flies. Never had it happen in my game (naturally), tho
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? 4t2 maxis match conversions, because it's gross and ugly :p No, but for real, I like all cc. People put a lot of time and love into what they create/convert/retexture/recolor. I think that should be recognized.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No...who does that?
4. Do you use move objects? Yes, kind of have to sometimes!
5. Favorite mod? I had to go into my main save for this one haha. I'd say...all the anti-corruption mods. And to piggy back off of brandinotbroke, ACR! The rest I could probably live without if I could ever sort my folder. Oh, also, one mod I'd really like to give a try is Story Progression by LazyDuchess.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? First purchased was Christmas 2005. My parents gifted me Sims 2 and then my birthday a month later I got University, I believe. I should show you all the video of me opening it and running off to play haha. First played was, I wanna say Urbz! and Bustin' Out. We would rent those from the video store.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Alive. I recently found out my IRL BFF pronounces it as Living. I've known her almost 20 years and feel like I don't know her anymore 😅
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Rhiannon, one of my model sims, but all 4 of my models are my favorite. I really should put Rhiannon as a townie in my uberhood. She deserves a life outside of posing.
9. Have you made a simself? Yes, like 18 years ago lol. Ended up corrupting the hood trying to move me with my 10 same face kids to a new neighborhood. I've really enjoyed the premade sims ever since.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself? of sims 3 traits: absent-minded, light sleeper, brooding, over-emotional, nurturing, workaholic, frugal
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? TS4's #13 - Honey Blond
12. Favorite EA hair? probably aflongsimple or affuzzylongep
13. Favorite life stage? oh gosh... probably adult in any game lol
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? gameplay, I'll let @plumbtales and @kestrelteens do the building and inspo!
15. Are you a CC creator? I don't think I've created anything myself. I've converted a ton of stuff tho! I'd love to create something, but textures are so difficult for my brain to understand. I commend those who retexture!
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? Yeah! Baby Gang! lol, not like we do anything other than play online pvp games and share cc wips
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) 2 is my ultimate, though I'd love to dive back into Sims 3
18. Do you have any sims merch? Maybe someday @microscotch and I can make something palpable
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Not gameplay (yet).
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Well, I had dial up internet until about 2010 so... figure that one out haha. But yeah, I was a semi-realistic kind of girl up until about... 2020? 2021? when i made the switch to 4t2. Still working on becoming completely 4t2.
21. What’s your Origin ID? n/a lmao
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? Oh gosh, there's too many. All my mutuals, I love ya and your cc! Even some people who are not mutuals with me are my absolute favorite. I could never choose haha.
23. How long have you had a simblr? I think I just had my 2 year anniversary.
24. How do you edit your pictures? I recently commissioned the Queen of Renders ™ @microscotch to take preview pics for me while i was out of town lol. She also made me a photoshop template as well. (Go get a commission, she's having a sale right now 😉) For gameplay, I let reshade do the work for me and crop/size it to 700x934
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Brandinotbroke gave the best answer haha. I honestly don't know what kit EA can come up with next
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? For Sims 2, probably Nightlife. The first 3 EPs, honestly. Sims 3 has to be Ambitions and Generations. Idk about Sims 4 as most I've played is about 2 hours in Strangerville as the Beakers.
Gonna tag baby gang, feel free to ignore! @microscotch @tvickiesims @lordcrumps @simsisit
thank you again to brandinotbroke for making my day, my week, my month and maybe even my year.

I revived the ghost of Bella Goth at lunar lakes, then I took her back to Sunset valley to compare her to young Bella aged up
post says it all! here is my story! (credit to the sims wiki for some images) if you don't care about backstory, scroll down to the bit where I wrote in HUGE text. For those who don't know, Lunar Lakes is a sims 3 world you can buy as DLC, which is set in the far far future where you will find the ghost of Bella Goth.
Tumblr media
she has died of old age and her tombstone is large, implying that she died with a lot of lifetime happiness points. it seems even though Bella never saw her family again, she lived a very fulfilling life among the stars. anyways i got curious, so a while ago i brought Bella back from the dead and de aged her. I have a hella old tumblr post about it if you are curious. That save is long corrupted, SO I DID IT AGAIN. took my sim to university, leveled up their cooking to max alongside gardening and fishing, made them learn how to make ambrosia etc. long story short:
Tumblr media
my sim cooking the good shit with only the rarest of foods. A rare death fish, an elusive life fruit, some strange can substance and......... marshmallows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
youth potion so she is young again-
Tumblr media
nope she still looks like a rotting corpse. So i decided to test out my CAS skills by re-creating Bella and using the sims 2 as a reference.
Tumblr media
here are the results! I made it as accurate as I could!
then I thought: OH YEAH LITTLE KID BELLA IS IN THE GAME TOO
Tumblr media
and there she is with her family
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am getting mini me vibes from these two.
Tumblr media
now originally I was going to freeze future Bella in a stasis tank until mini Bella grew up then i remembered i can just look at them through CAS
Tumblr media
(that and I don't think future bella likes the tube very much)
AND NOW FOR THE COMPARISON AND THOSE WHO JUST SKIPPED THE BACKSTORY FOR THE GOOD PART.
Tumblr media
unedited future bella.
Tumblr media
my attempt at re-creating Bella using the sims 2 as a reference.
Tumblr media
young Bella from Sunset Valley aged up in CAS
Notable differences between future and past Bella:
- different zodiac signs. This was an oversight on the developers because mini Bella was created before the zodiac sign update, and thus was given a random zodiac -different personality traits. Future Bella is a hopeless romantic, Ambitious, and charismatic (note that she only has the 3 traits when most adult sims have 5) . Past Bella is good, lucky, and brave. -certain facial structures are different. I think it is safe to say that future bella kinda... rotted a little in the grave or SOMETHING. ages ago i heard a rumor that the developers confirmed that Lunar Lakes Bella is the original, and I can believe it! I just had to see it for myself! I have NEVER seen anyone attempt this idea before.... so I just had to do it myself!!!! it was so fun do you have any crazy experiments you want me to test in the sims 3? let me know! I am always welcome to an excuse to play this game again! If anyone has any fun suggestions please send me an ask and I might just make another sims 3 experiment post! Thank you for reading this crazy idea brought to life!

Sims Tag
I was tagged by my awesome friend @deathpoke1qa, Thanks!
1. What’s your favourite sims death?
Hard to say, removing pool ladder is a classic everyone loves, but I really loved Mummy Curse Death from TS3 World Adventures, as it has to be one of the most forboding and ominous.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
I go with a mix of both, don't really care.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?
My sims rarely gain weight.
4. Do you use move objects?
Of course I do, everybody does!
5. Favorite mod?
Deaderpool's MC Command Center is a must. I'm also a big fan of Coolspear's and Sacrificial's work, and lately I fell in love with new custom skills by JaneSimsten.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?
That's gotta be Hot Date for Sims 1. Yeah, I'm that old.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?
Since English isn't my native language, I tend to alternate between those, but I usually go with Live, as in LIVing.
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
Oh, that has to be Lord Professor Ebenezer Vincent Ignatius Laurence von Charlatain III, the gentleman you see in my avatar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. Have you made a simself?
Yes, it was for a contest at Sims of History Discord, where you had to make a sim of yourself in historical setting. So, I made myself into an early 18th century Mercenary:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. What sim traits do you give yourself?
Genius, Lazy, Geek.
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?
It has to be the brown and gray one, I just love the contrast.
12. Favorite EA hair?
The wavy long hair from Cats and Dogs EP.
13. Favorite life stage?
Yound Adults to Elders.
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
I mostly spend time in CaS. But I also like building.
15. Are you a CC creator?
Kinda? More like cc Editor, but if you're interested I've got some stuff for download at my Simblr.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?
Everyone from Sims of History, especially @javitrulovesims, @simstomaggie, @simverses.
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)
Let's see: Sims 1 was awesome, but now is really dated, and build mode is limited and obnoxious to use. Sims 2 is a fantastic game but it's so buggy and prone to save corruption. Sims 3 Would be the best, due to the open world and so many fun lifestates, if you didn't had to wait an eternity and a half for it to load. Also, Twilight sparkly vampires. Ew. I kinda like Sims 4 the best, not only it has the best versions of lifestates (maybe except the furry-ass werewolves), but also the Best QoL improvements to CAS and Build mode. Give it some time, and I think it will be the best sims game ever.
18. Do you have any sims merch?
Sadly, no.
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?
Nope.
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?
It really didn't change much, except I rarely now deliberately kill my sims, as I get attached to my pixel dolls. Back in my TS1 days I would torture my sims in the most fun ways.
21. What’s your Origin ID?
Sir_Eggyslav
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?
So many good cc creators, my all time favourites are @natalia-auditore, and my good friend @strangestorytellersims but I also really miss @acanthus-sims.
23. How long have you had a simblr?
I can't honestly remember, and too lazy to check, but about 2016?
24. How do you edit your pictures?
I don't. I don't have the skills and I'm too lazy to learn.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?
Any pack that would bring back Cars, Genie lamps and Pool tables.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?
Vampires, Jungle Adventures and University.
I'm tagging anyone who would like to join he fun.

Get To Know Me
I was tagged by the sweet and endlessly talented @salemssimblr for this! Apologies it took so long to get to it, wanted to wait until I was on my desktop again haha
What’s your favourite sims death? Gotta be laughing to death! I had a sim for a legacy challenge propose to her girlfriend once and her girlfriend was already in a silly goofy mood but rejected her and then proceeded to laugh to death. I hadn't even known that could happen and was caught completely off guard!
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I tend to lean more towards Maxis Match stuff but I really have move of a blend happening
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nah if it happens it happens, you can't have a sim push out four babies for a legacy and still have a stick lol
4. Do you use move objects? Definitely do! Even switched back to my old keyboard because it is better equipped for handling move objects in build mode!
5. Favorite mod? More columns in CAS! I cannot make sims without it!
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I bought every expansion/game pack/stuff pack that came out until My First Pets Stuff so it'd be Outdoor Retreat! I only recently caved to that stupid stuff back, always swore I'd never put money down on a DLC for a DLC but it was on super sale and I think I'd like to have rats in game
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Liv definitely, I know in context it's LIVE mode but I have never said it like that
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Probably Monty! My green haired sim I made originally to submit to a story that someone else was doing. I have the most back story on her! If not her than my boy Kaz who was made to be a bachelor in my bachelor challenge that ended abruptly when the save got corrupted and life made it hard to play! Kaz still to this day remains my favorite base to use when making male sims :3
9. Have you made a simself? A long time ago! I should probably make a new one
10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Creative, Clumsy, and Geek!
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? I really like the darker brown and the auburn-y red
12. Favorite EA hair? I rarely use the EA hairs lol I don't really have an answer for this!
13. Favorite life stage? YA for sure because it has the most stuff to do but also I started playing Sims 4 when I was 20 so I was a YA when I got to play with it and it has always just felt like a good home base life stage!
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? When I do get to play, I'm in it for the gameplay! I honestly hate building from scratch because nothing ever seems right so I usually tweak builds I find in the gallery! I also really hate how much time it takes to decorate and clutter things up!
15. Are you a CC creator? I used to be! First thing I created (like five blogs ago now) was a set of nerdy art for my sims, I also recolored a bunch of hairs in Pooklet's colors and recolored a handful of items. Pretty sure that's all gone now though and I definitely don't have time to do it anymore!
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I have a couple people I feel like I can chat with without feeling like I'm bugging them! @salemssimblr and I talk on discord about this and that (mostly writing!) and @druidberries and I have had a few good moments as well! I used to have a group I was part of on discord but that's been a long time ago now
17. What’s your favorite game? Favorite series is forever Bioshock! The depth of the worlds and just how well those games were developed and thought out was always great for me! What Remains of Edith Finch changed my entire brain chemistry it was so good, Dragon Age Inquisition has been played about fifteen times, and I'm really enjoying Tears of the Kingdom right now!
18. Do you have any sims merch? Somewhere, lost to the basement which devours everything, I have a plumbob light thing I got with a special edition of something. Other than that no
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Nope! I'm happy posting on here where no one can hear me stumble over my words and watch me spend an hour debating over which hair to put on a sim lmao
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? It's changed pretty drastically I'd say! My early sims, when I started really getting into the Sims 2, were all super goth and had the most wild and ridiculous outfits! I used to make sims who looked like they walked out of My Chemical Romance music videos! Now, though I still have to push myself to not use as many of the same or similar features (I'm really bad about almond eyes, down turned lips, and noses with the nostrils just so), I feel like I do make sims with more variety. I also work hard to make sims who are either queer, non-white, disabled, or occult as well. It's really easy to fall into a pattern of making the same kind of sim over and over so I fight that as much as I can.
21. What’s your Origin ID? EchoSoul I believe, there may be a 13 in there somewhere lmao
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? I think the creator I jump to download all their cc every time I reset and whose cc just gets used and abused in my game is @clumsyalienn! I have almost everything they make and I'm pretty sure every single sim I make has at least one thing on their's on them!
23. How long have you had a simblr? I've had this simblr since 2018, before that though I've had multiple other simblrs that either got killed off because of a lull in notes or just disuse. I started in the simblr community in 2009 I believe! I've been on tumblr since 2008 and as soon as I found the sims community I've always had a foot in the door!
24. How do you edit your pictures? I don't lmao
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? I'd have to say that Realm of Magic and City Living! I'm a sucker for magic and witches and to this day San Myshuno is one of my favorite worlds to live in! Can't go wrong with the Spice District!
26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? I have all of them except for Dream Designer and a handful of kits so I'd say Dream Designer lol
NOW
I tag @shittyysimblr, @lilypixels, @whyhellosims, @pink-chevalier, @katmk36, and anyone else who'd like to do this who hasn't been tagged yet!

Sims Tag
tagged by the lovely @esotheria-sims <3. finally done with exams so i have more time to sim!
1. What’s your favourite sims death?
death by flies. the thought of being picked apart into nothing is so deathmetal. i've always been partial to some body horror, i never kill my sims off though <3
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
alpha all the way! i like to incorporate some maxis-match, but i just can't really vibe with the plastic-y aesthetic of ts4.
sims 2 pure maxis match is cute though!
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?
absolutely not! i wish more of my sims were fat, actually. i love different bodyshapes (and it's the one thing that annoys me about ts2).
4. Do you use move objects?
dude when don't i
5. Favorite mod?
i'd say anything that makes the game look prettier; defaults, lighting mods, etc. i can play without any gameplay mods at all,,, just gimme the defaults!
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?
sims 3 showtime! i got it before getting the base game because i didn't know you needed the base game. i remember watching quxxn and falling in love with it. still my fave expansion (yes i know it's shit)
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?
i simply don't <3. i mentally called it play mode and never realised this debate was even a thing lmao. but i'd say it like LIVing if i gave a fuck.
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
tbh i've never felt connected to any sim i've made. i made a legacy save in ts3 that got lost to corruption and just struggled to form connections to my sims ever since (there's something to unpack there). premades are safe because i know the game won't swallow them whole i guess.
9. Have you made a simself?
nope! i just don't think it'd fit. my ex-gf used to make me in the sims 4 and pose us together! she's probably drowning me in pools now though.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself?
probably absent-minded, artistic, clumsy, good sense of humour, and grumpy. but i have zero perception of myself so idk
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?
they're all a bit grim so i can't decide
12. Favorite EA hair?
hairsweep! the og lesbian bayonetta. i never replace this mesh. it's just too good.
13. Favorite life stage?
adults (boo i know).
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
i do a bit of both. i enjoy all aspects of the game and it's good for the brain to be able to switch.
15. Are you a CC creator?
a shitty one! i have a tag, but it's all stuff that nobody but me would put in their game (i'm yet to learn anything substantial lmao).
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?
i'd like to hope i do!
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)
sims 2! it would be sims 3 but it's so impossible to play with semi-decent specs. the game is too poorly optimised, but it holds a special place in my heart.
18. Do you have any sims merch?
oh bro i wish. that'd be neat
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?
i sure do! just speedbuilds, but i'm hoping to branch out into a full let's play when i'm finished w/ round 3 of strangetown lmao.
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?
i'd say i care less about a sim being pretty. sims 3 sims were hideous, and i'd always edit them. but, with ts2, i kinda love how unhinged sims can look. so, even with strangetown, i wanted the sims to have unique features (circe's asymmetrical grin!). i love the genetics system.
bro, 12 y/o me wouldn't let gunnar's chinless profile fly.
21. What’s your Origin ID?
it's just nervosims! but i don't play ts4 so it's never used. my old origin got banned because me and my friends shared the password.
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?
damn i can't choose only one </3. i love them all!
23. How long have you had a simblr?
i've had this simblr for a little over a year. but i've been in and out of simblr for around 3. i've been on tumblr for way longer (unfortunately). like, skeleton war, colour of the sky, superwholock tumblr.
24. How do you edit your pictures?
clip studio paint! i just add scanlines and a vignette. my reshade does the heavy lifting tbh. though, i'm trying to get pretty screenshots without it rn; my graphics driver is acting up and reshade isn't working for me.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?
in terms of existing packs? none. i like all the stuff i have now.
in terms of future packs? none. simmers are greedy as hell asking for more. enjoy the fucking game.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?
showtime!!! idgaf if it's a bad expansion it holds a place in my heart.
i'm tagging @alexbgd @alice-in-strangetown @annieshowell @wi-fu and whoever else wants to. feel free, no rush <3

The Berry save is nearly 5 generations in and I know it's only a matter of time before it gets corrupted...so I'm making my own save file!🥳🥳It's going to take a long time but it's been a lot of fun so far. I'm not a builder so I'm putting my favorite Gallery lots in the worlds and making all the Sims myself! Keeping the original iconic townies, of course.
I've finished Willow Creek and made a few Sims so far so I just wanted to show them off😄
Household 1: Olvera
Carlos is just a single dad doing his best. His ex-girlfriend moved to San Myshuno, leaving him and baby Michael behind. Will Carlos find love again or will he choose to focus on himself?
Household 2: Mays
Liz has always wanted to have a child, but she didn't think it would happen so soon! After her parents passed away in an accident, Liz became the primary caregiver of her precocious little sister, Chelsea. How will she focus on her art while also taking care of a kid?
Household 3: Anuman-Suwan
The Anuman-Suwans are a multigenerational family from Willow Creek. Ambitious singer Dara lives with her elderly parents and her husband, celebrity chef Chaiya. They have three children- materialistic Nico, computer geek Saria, and little evil genius Atlas!
I will continue posting progress on this save file and will probably upload it when it's finished just in case anyone wants it! :D

 Check In Tag ✔️
@mamabearssims tagged me for this one.
Why did you choose your url?
The short version is because that is what you’ll find here, stories by me, Jes2G. The longer version is this has been the name of my WordPress blog for the last few years (despite the URL being jes2gstories.com....I’m not always so smart). No one has time for the full version lol.
Any side blogs? If you have them name them and why you have them.
I have a side blog I call “the shopping list.” I reblog cc I want to download to there when I’m on my phone or work laptop so I can find it easily when I’m back on my PC. It’s called jes2gfinds, I think lol.
How long have you been on tumblr?
I originally joined under another name when this game came out 9/14. I didn’t know what Tumblr was, but I knew there were simmers here.
Do you have a queue tag?
Not sure why the queue would need a tag, but I do have tags for all my stories which are always queued.
Why did you start your blog in the first place?
I started posting my first legacy here, but my game got corrupted and I had to toss all my saves. When I started over, I went back to what I knew: WordPress. I decided to give Tumblr a fair shake in 2018 I think, and I was only here for the cc and to share my stories. Then I met all you wonderful people.
Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
I figured since the blog is named after me, I should make my simself the icon. She finally got a makeover lol.
Why did you choose your header?
Same reason as above. Plus I recently rebranded my WordPress blog, so I brought the same images and colors here. Yes, I miss being orange!
What’s your post with the most notes?
Oh, I have no idea. [does quick investigation] In the last 3 months, it is my create a minor sim challenge.
How many mutuals do you have?
Stop asking me questions I don’t know the answers to! LOL [does more investigating...why is this not easier to find out?!] OK! I have 97.
How many followers do you have?
I have 809!! Crazy! You guys have been following me like crazy lately, and if this keeps up, I seriously think I’ll hit 1000 this year. I’m already planning what I’m going to do for you. 🥰 It’s gonna be fun!
How many people do you follow?
I get overwhelmed easily, so I only follow 176.
Have you ever made a shitpost?
*clutches pearls* I beg your pardon! There is nothing but high quality content on this blog, thank you! 🤣 (no, but seriously...what constitutes a shitpost?)
How often do you use tumblr each day?
I plead the 5th. 😅
Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won?
Nah, fam. I like to stay away from drama.
How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?
I roll my eyes as I promptly ignore them. I don’t like people telling me what to do with my things/spaces or telling me how I should feel about something. Everyone is here for a different reason, and that should be respected. Period.
Do you like tag games?
It depends on the game. In general, I don’t mind them. But I don’t like answering the same questions over and over. And I don’t want to constantly be doing them. Plus I’m really private and some of them are way too personal for me.
Do you like ask games?
I love being asked about my characters and stories.
Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
Oh, that’s easy. It’s Dear Abby @mellindi! 🤣
Do you have a crush on a mutual?
I have a girl crush on @ladybugsimblr! 😃
Tags?
Sure, why not. As always, feel free to ignore. @ladybugsimblr @maladi777 @therichantsim @bridgeportbritt @cantseemtohide @digital-deluxe @cinamun

get to know my playstyle tag!
We’ve seen the Get to Know Me post going around and it’s really cute so here’s one for us Simmers that’s more our style.
i got tagged by @sometownie - ive seen this floating around a bit lately so im p thrilled i got tagged in this - thank you!
i tag @dreadpirate @sunlightcharm @twofee bc i love their simblrs so much right now aaaaaaaaaaaa
🔮 Family size at the start: 1 or 2. i never make kids in CAS, i like all the kids to be born in-game. MUCH less work for me and less time for me to spend dicking around in CAS.
🖤 The Lifespan of my sims: i play with aging off. i like to be in control of when they age up for story purposes. ive always played with aging off and will always continue to do so. they will age when i am good and ready.
🔮 Favorite family I have played: HEH um. wow. in 15yrs of playing this game i have played and created MANY families. i do super miss Minnä from my lost #For Skye save in Peach Tea Arcadia and Plug-In Minnä from my also lost Offworld save. i also super miss Monsuta and Holo from my Saltsjo-Boo save that is long, long gone. (also got HELLA corrupted, i forgot what i did but it turned into the BFBVS essentially and rendered the ENTIRE hood completely unplayable - RIP). i also much much prefer playing with occults in this game than i do any other sims game. IDK why, i just do.
i am having an absolute blast playing in Waverly however - ive only actively played with Batz so im not able to say if i have a favorite from Waverly yet. her rotation is nearly over - 3 days left!
🖤 Am I a Malevolent or Benevolent God: i let them do what they want 95% of the time. i dont like to step in and do much, i like when the stories play out however they do. i RARELY need to step in and do anything and if i do it’s to reset them for route failure or something. mods i actively have on every lot are the sim blender, bat box and visitor controller - thats all i need if in the event i must step in. new lots i intend on playing are setup IMMEDIATELY before i even hit play with the sims on the lot that way i dont have to do anything while the game is doing its thing.
so whatever this labels me as, thats what type of ‘god’ i am.
🔮 What I like best about the current version of Sims I play: everything. i think, that in its age, its done well. theres a shit ton of very talented, genius and dedicated creators out there who continue to bring life to this game and make it look so good. and obvs kudos to the creators that are out there modding their buns off to make gameplay better and customize-able to how each of us like to play our games or different hoods. i think one of my faves is that, most 4t2 content looks fabulous in ts2, like, way better than 3t2 content.
i think what draws me to this and what i appreciate most is, this game was there when my folks divorced. i was 14 and simming was really my only outlet being the oldest of 4 and never branched out for help or anything while trying to make sure my 3 younger siblings were ok and getting the help/attention they needed. sims 2 was my help i guess. i was always playing it and building happy non-toxic families. rebuilding homes i liked that id visited, friends or family. i LOVED loved loved building so much then, i got really freakin good too and this was before tutorials on elevation and foundation changes were out. i was OVER THE MOON when i started discovering build tutorials. sims 2 was the best outlet for me, it still is. it was always there to comfort and distract me though bad times.
im super grateful for this game, even if it is an absolute beast sometimes.
🖤 What I am most anticipating for the current version of the Sims: oh, well, i guess i kind of already answered this up there but i suppose i can add on that this game will continue to look good and play well. for christs sake i STILL play the original 95 doom games ON my windows 10 computer w/o a hiccup. if those dinky lil 8bit games can run on here and age just fine, well dammit, so can ts2. i personally dont mind having to troubleshoot my game bc ive done it all for the most part. rarely does anything come up that i cant immediately solve with either having already done it or a google search/MTS search. there always seems to be a way to continue improving this game, and i always look forward to it bc im a hoe for nostalgia and will never not love this game despite the fact i own all ts3 and ts4 games as well. (i will be checking island living when it drops next week)

Re-installing the Sims 2
AKA Simgaroop likes to mess with her laptop during Spring Break.
I uninstalled the game a couple months back because my laptop began to lag. I thought that maybe I had too many programs installed, like the three Sims games (and their EPs), the whole Adobe suite (when I pretended to start a Youtube channel, LOL), Steam, Discord, etc.
That didn’t work out. I guess something got corrupted due to my constant medling with the system files in an attempt to fix the lag, but to make things short, I had to restore the laptop to factory settings.
It is working well right now. And yes, I saved all my Sims stuff both in Google Drive AND in an external HD.
I currently have Google Chrome, Itunes (which I think will uninstall once I am done with this post, there is not point to it now that I can’t organize my apps with it), Office (which I rarely use because I depend on Google Drive at work, but some files require I use it) and Adobe Photoshop. I also installed Adobe Premiere in case I want to give it a try at making videos, but I’ve realized I really don’t have the personality for that, so I guess I’ll keep stuff at Tumblr or a Blog.
Next step is to re-install WinRar, Fastone Capture (the software I use for screenshots) and finally Origin. I am NOT reinstalling the Sims 3 and will wait until I have all my Sims 2 stuff ready before I take a look at Sims 4 (I will probably need to redownload all the CC because I am certain I missed a ton of patches).
I will keep Discord in my tablet. And I will not reinstall Steam because it made my laptop lag a lot at startup. I guess I will ask my sister for her PS4 to finish DanganRonpa V3 (I am a fan of those games).
Anyway, this almost pointless entry is to say hello and to announce that I will record my journey re-installing the game, fixing the shadow /graphic issues, re-doing the download folder (mostly defaults and repository stuff), installing templates and all that fun stuff if you are a Sim nerd like myself.
It will be screenshot based and will be posted in a blog I am currently creating. I do not like Tumblr for  long screenshot and text posts and LJ is dead.

Tips for a Healthier Saved Game in Sims 3
Lately I have been digging saving more and more often. But university courses made me stay away from the game. And take care of my families.
Saving is not always that easy, you need to work hard till you make progress and reach to your desired in game hour and day to save.
But, I have learned and discovered some tips for my saves in The Sims 3. Applying them, it makes your save much faster and your game much healthier.
-------------
DO NOT overwrite your previous save. It may cause you bugs, save error codes and crashes in between!
Use the Save As...” option, to save your game under a new name and with the progress you made till you reached that point. For example “Test.sims3”, will be saved under “TestNew.sims3”.
DO NOT use the “Save and Quit” option! This kills your save and may get you an error code! Actually, many, depending on the amount of CPU the game is consuming!
When you are trying to name a save, DO NOT use spaces or symbols! This is another factor your save may get an error code or a bug! For example, it’s better to save your game under “TestNew.sims3” rather than “Test New.sims3”. It’s safer to use numbers as well but spaces is a NO for the game. Example: “Oct272020″ is a much safer name.
Same as the tip above but if you are trying to name your save, please do not use repeated or a combo of letters, such as “fffffffffff.sims3″ or “sksksksksksksksksk.sims3″. The game will identify them as long and the game may not load!
Before saving, ALWAYS check Edit Town to see if the thumbnails are correct. After the game is saved, do the same before going to either the main menu or restarting the game. If not, you need to delete the progress you have made on the town you were working on before making a new one.
Same as the first tip. When overwriting the game you will get thumbnail glitches such as a duplicated lot copy in both household and lot or household thumbnail showing up as usual but the lot one appearing blank or empty. This has to do with World Adventures.
When the household and lot thumbnails are just an invisible family and house icons, this means you have saved in EDIT TOWN mode. This doesn’t corrupt the town or the progress!!!
When redirected to the main menu, DELETE the previous save if you have saved in the same lot with the same family. You will keep the new one instead of the old one. Old things go away, right? This may fill your drive space.
If you have less than 4GB of RAM, please open task manager BEFORE starting the game up and check your CPU (how much it consumes) while running the game. If your CPU is more than 60 then we’re having a problem... your save will get corrupted. Close any background programs except for Origin and The Sims 3.
If more than 4GB of RAM, then we’re okay. No need to check CPU while running the game.
The second to last one used to be an index of not getting the save corrupt several years ago before losing all my files. I used to check the CPU all the time before getting my laptop.
But now due to having a higher RAM it’s no use checking the CPU.
Until next time, Joanne

List-Enabling and Fixing Posepacks - Tips&Tricks
Some know-how I’ve accumulated as a storyteller who can’t work without the ingame poselist. This tutorial is intended to help users and creators alike to optimize posepacks.
! If you tweak another creator’s work, always respect their tou !
1. Making Thumbnails and Poses List-Compatible
See Phantomhive’s tutorial for a detailed explanation how to do this. The Posepack Creator can now be downloaded in the Poseplayer’s MTS thread.
For making thumbnails, I found it easiest to crop my screenshots to a square format and then resize them to 59x60 (60x60 works just as well btw, but don’t make them much larger, or they’ll look awful in poselist view.)
Always give your thumbnails unique names as described by Phantomhive. Otherwise they’ll overwrite each other, and other creators’ thumbnails, in poselist-view.
I use a photoshop action that automatically flattens and resizes an image to pose-thumbnail format. You can download it here, but I don’t know if it will work outside my somewhat eccentric photoshop setup. (It comes with a thumbnail to be installed as an effect in Adobe Photoshop Elements 4, if anyone is crazy enough to use that :)
Advanced Tipp: After you’ve saved your list-compatible posepack, open it in S3PE, and drag-and-drop (import) your CLIP-files from the working folder into it again. They’ll overwrite themselves, but now they display their codes in the ‘Name’ column. Doesn’t change any functionality, but may come in handy. BTW, as long as you don’t change the codes, you can always drag and drop updated CLIPs into a list-compatible posepack without having to make it list-compatible again.
2. Making Already Packaged Poses List-Compatible
Only do this for personal use, unless you know the creator is okay with it!
Open the package in S3PE. You should see the CLIP-resources with their posecodes. (If you don’t see posecodes, continue with Step 2a!) Select the CLIPs and export them “to file”. Save them to your working folder without renaming them. The posecode will appear towards the end of the filename.
Tumblr media
Now you need preview pictures of the poses to make thumbnails from. Usually the creator provides some, but you can also view the pose ingame or in Blender (more on that later). From here continue as in Step 1.
2a. CLIPs without Codes
So the CLIPs are unnamed and you want to retrieve the original posecodes?
Tumblr media
Go through the CLIPs one by one. Don’t click on the headlines (’Name’, ‘Tag’, Group’ etc.) during the process, so they won’t re-sort. Select the first CLIP. Then click the “Hex” button at the bottom of the S3PE window. A box with number-cereal will appear. Scroll through it slowly, until you see the posecode somewhere. Parts of it usually appear in the emptier column to the right, but may be badly chopped apart. Also note that it appears twice. (Can’t find the code, or aren’t sure it’s correct? See step 2b)
Tumblr media
Write the reconstructed code down somewhere (leaving out the .blender file extension). Now close the Hex-window, right-click the CLIP you just selected and do “Export and rename”. Enter the posecode when you’re prompted to give the CLIP a ‘new’ name. You could actually just give any new codes to all the CLIPs, but then you’d have to check in Blender which is which.
Do this for all the CLIPs one by one, then continue as described in step 1.+2.
2b. Finding out Posecodes and Previewing in Blender
For this you’ll need Blender and Sims posing rigs set up according to instructions (or of course pets rigs if you’re viewing pet poses).
If you’re still struggling to find out that CLIP’s code: Do “Export and Rename” in S3PE and enter a temporary code. “a_1″ should be sufficient. You can also export it without renaming, but then you’ll have to remember which CLIP is which.
Open the Sim rig most likely to match your poses - normally an adult human one. Nothing bad will happen if you pick the wrong one, the rig will just look distorted.
In the sidebar (under “Scene” tab) scroll down to the S3PY Animation Tools. Click “Load CLIP” open the CLIP you want to examine.
Tumblr media
Now the pose is displayed in 3D view, and the code appears in the sidebar (you may have to scroll down again to see it)
Tumblr media
With the retrieved code, continue as described above. If the code still looks weird (I think this happens mostly with Milkshape-made poses), just go back to S3PE and export&rename with a new code. Now you know what the pose looks like, you might also be able to find the original code on the creator’s site.
3. Fixing Problems in Already Listed Posepacks
Some of the S3PE functions in this part may have come with extensions - I'm not quite sure which ones, if any, but I recommend checking out S3PE’s homepage .
For me, the paint-integration only works with the latest version of S3pe found here (other location than the one linked on the homepage). You can also get the functionality by setting Paint as an external text editor in S3pe. Under “Settings -> External Programs”, check “Use an external text editor” and browse for Paint’s .exe in your program files. Now when you right-click an IMAG resource, the option “Text Editor” should open it in Paint.
Reading and editing the XML: In the package right-click the XML, and select “Notepad”. You can edit descriptions there (very useful if you made a typo in a posepack you want to share) Don’t change anything of the technical stuff inside <brackets>. The XML also gives the creator’s name in most cases - don’t edit this unless you are the creator, but it can be useful for finding the download site again. In theory you could also add your own descriptions if the creator only put placeholders, but it’s quite an effort to tell which pose is which.
By the way: The XML can be viewed much more comfortably if you export it and open it with your web-browser, but in that mode it can’t be edited. Probably it’s also easier to edit with dedicated XML editors, but I’m not so much into programming.
Thumbnail too large or wrong format: This doesn’t affect functionality, but I find oversized thumbnails difficult to preview in S3PE and Poselist. Right-click the IMAG resource in the package. Select “Paint”. The thumbnail will open in Microsoft Paint.
Tumblr media
Box-select as square an area as you can manage, then right-click and choose “crop”. Resize the images to something like thumbnail format (a few pixels don’t matter - I’m actually too lazy to uncheck “maintain proportions”). Take care though that no side becomes significantly smaller than 60px. Close Paint (Click “Save” and “Yes” on the two pop-ups”). Back in the package the thumbnail is now replaced with a resized version. Repeat with all other thumbnails and save the package.
Thumbnail not showing up at all: Sometimes IMAG resources get corrupted and S3PE shows an error message instead of the picture. In this case, prepare a substitute thumbnail in .png format (ideally using an image of the pose in question), and save it to your working-folder. Right-click the faulty IMAG, ‘Replace’ and select the new thumbnail. Alternatively, pretend to export the faulty IMAG ‘to file’, but in the last step, where Windows asks you to save, copy the suggested filename with Cntrl+C and cancel. Then paste the filename onto your substitute thumbnail and drag-and-drop it into the package. It should overwrite the faulty one.
Thumbnail incorrectly named: This usually comes up ingame, when thumbnails start overwriting each other. Fixing this requires some concentration, especially with large posepacks. It can be very helpful to first export the XML and have it open in a web-browser for reference.
First rename the IMAG’s instance: Double-click the IMAG resource. Tick “Use resource name”, type in a unique thumbnail name, click first FNV64 and then OK. The IMAG should now display its name in the “Name” column.
Tumblr media
Now link to the new IMAG name. Open the XML in Notepad as described above. Find the place where this thumbnail’s previous name is displayed between <Icon Key> and </Icon Key>. Replace it with the new name. Save and exit Notepad, save the package and test it ingame. If you’ve linked the thumbnails incorrectly, they won’t show up. Note down which ones are missing and repeat the renaming process on those.

Building a World Maybe
Tumblr media
With my rediscovery of The Sims 3, I also realised the desire to create a world from scratch. It was a goal years ago when I was 14, however, the ideas never panned out and I didn’t have enough interest or patience to learn how exactly to make this goal happen. I don’t remember if I started any worlds or if I just mucked about with the CAW tool then decided to quit.
Now? I have two more brain cells than before and a deep yearning to revisit this aspect of my childhood… so I started building a world with the Create-A-World tool! Damn, this has been exciting so far - except for the part where I deleted the first world. That sucked, but more on it in a second.
From the beginning, the idea I had was a world that included city life as well as rural life, similar to other creators who have made their own worlds. Originally, I named the island after myself and wanted to meme around with it, however, I think that might disrupt the playability of the game in the long run. Sometimes gameplay needs to be realistic, ya know?
I drew out the layout of the island on some grid paper and got to sculpting in CAW.
Then, doomsday came.
Origin updated my Sims 3 game. CAW became corrupt. I reinstalled the older version of TS3 and CAW. BUT- I only remembered to backup my save files in the game itself and forgot all about CAW.
*Sigh*
Tumblr media
It wasn’t all bad, though, since I had taken screenshots to share with friends throughout the construction of the world and had references to copy when recreating it. I’ve taken this chance to make the towns better spaced apart, and turn the world into a completely secluded island instead of connecting it to a background. This was mostly because I couldn’t find a distant terrain to fit what I was aiming for - an ambiguously Australian appearance.
So far, I think creating the world’s going well as a beginner, and I’m enjoying learning as I go.

Well, the posts out of order are the least of my worries. Our computer had a hard drive issue that destroyed all my save files and screenshots.
I will start over, but it will be 100% from scratch. I need to get all my mods back, maybe some CC, who knows?
Mostly I will be backing up my saves often. We didn't expect to have any hardware failures so soon after getting the damn thing.
Anywho, all the content will be moved from this blog. In actuality what will probably happen is I will post the rest of the content (probably out of order, whoops), make a blog to archive all this, reblog all the posts in the proper order, move the links and things there, delete the original posts, and basically just start this blog over. It's not ideal, but I don't have much of a choice. Because I'm doing this though, I'm super excited to ask for households the community has made, CC recommendations, or anything really. Looking forward to a fresh start on the Sims, as my game files have gone through 8 years of my bs and I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did with only the one file ever getting corrupted.
I'll be fucking damned if my 100 baby challenge gets thwarted again. It'll be nice to start it in the sims 4 with mccc so I'm not having to manually story progress everything! And having a computer that can run the sims 3 with all the packs is liberating and I can do so many more things in the 100 baby challenge because of it.

Playing Games That Are Over the Moon
Everything’s been done before. If you think you made something totally original, don’t worry: you haven’t. You’re just don’t know who did it before you yet.
Prey (reviewed here) launched last year to tepid response from critics and players (save for a few). It was Bioshock in space, but with an Art Deco SF aesthetic and cool monsters who were nonetheless way too repetitive. The visuals were gorgeous, the station a fully realized fictional environment (much better than Bioshock itself, which felt like Disneyland-under-the-sea, not an actual place, and even better than Dead Space, the previous title holder for “Most Authentically Realized Fictional Environment”), and the zero-g sections were incredible and eye-opening.
Announced and launched back in June of this year, fully 14 months after the original was released, Prey: Mooncrash is a $20 add-on for the space survival horror game. Set on the surface of the moon, the Rogue-like (one is tempted to say “Dark Souls-like”, but one is in no way an ignorant games journalist, so one will refrain) features randomized monsters, environmental hazards, loot, and so forth. You try, you die, you try again.
Mooncrash also shares several game play elements with two other game expansions that have similar settings: Borderlands 3, aka Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (an expansion pack masquerading as a full game) and Far Cry 5’s “Lost on Mars” DLC. All three feature low gravity (meaning higher jumps and slower drops), jet packs of varying degrees of usefulness, and tunneling monsters that can pop up anywhere. Mooncrash and “Lost on Mars” in particular revel in their Dune-like mechanics for attracting the subterranean player-killers, only there’s no way to walk without rhythm: you step on the sand, you will attract the worm. (Borderlands 3 could care less: it throws all its monsters at you all the time, because stealth is for losers not man enough to play a real game.)
Mooncrash is in many ways a frustrating experience. Clearly meant for the hardcore crowd, it cares not a whit for players who aren’t into bruising and sometimes unfair obstacles, combat, and challenges. If you can’t roll with getting rolled over, you’re not their kind of player. The game’s obstacles are introduced gradually, matching your progress through the overgame (skill increases carry over from one life to the next, as does the currency you accumulate (“Sim Points”), which you can spend on additional starting ammo, health packs, and so forth), and a “corruption” mechanic gradually increases the difficulty within the current life, meaning the longer you take the more and tougher enemies there are, and if you take too long, the “simulation” resets and that’s it for that life. It’s a brutal game of resource management: you have to shepherd five characters to escape, and bullets you pick up as one character won’t be there for the next. Hoover everything up, and none of the other characters will have any of the resources they need to survive. It’s a giant puzzle, and only dedication and repetition will enable success in solving it.
In contrast, Borderlands 3 (one is not typing out the entire silly name of this game every time one references it) is a straightforward expansion of Borderlands 2 (reviewed here). Other than the elements listed above (low-G, etc.), an oxygen depletion mechanic (something missing from the other two expansions), and the usual run-of-the-mill expansion pack features (new enemy types, new weapons, new weapon effects, etc.), it plays nearly exactly the same as its sequel predecessor, for which it is a prequel of. The biggest changes are better use of Eridium, I mean Moonstone, more ways to use money, and the Grinder (which lets you trash old gear in return for upgraded gear).
Other than those it’s the same old thing: you get missions, you wander back and forth across the same areas a couple of times killing everything (because it’s already trying to kill you), and picking up rarity-color-coded loot (basically a demented Diablo 2 randomized loot system). You turn in completed quests for XP and other benefits, level your dude up, and head out to walk across the same terrain (and occasionally new terrain), killing everything looking at you funny. It’s straightforward and brutal, verging on repetitive and boring, and only saved by the game’s sense of humor and “unique” visual aesthetic.
“Lost on Mars” is Far Cry, complete with guns to get and upgrade, fast-travel points to activate, enemies to kill, gear and currency to loot, and towers you need to climb to activate, so you can be filled in on local points of interest. True, Far Cry 5 (reviewed here) eliminated climbable towers (much to my sorrow), but “Mars” brought them back, and their higher and more vertiginous than ever before (requiring the use of the afore-mentioned jetpack to climb). The main enemies throughout the first part of the game are hostile aliens, including the sand-diggers, monster queens, and what I can only assume are Cliff Racers accidentally imported from Morrowind and set free to torment the player, again. And again. And again. (That “again, again, again, again, again, again” goes for the rest of the expansion as well.) Despite that, it’s Far Cry and either you like it or you don’t.
Switching between these games is an eerie experience, because much of the gameplay is so different from any other game, and yet so similar to each other. (Not that strategies directly translate from one game to the other, much the pity.) I won’t go so far as to say that people who like one will like the others—they’re not that similar, and each expansion has more in common with its base game than each other—but they’re definitely eerily alike.
Playing one, then shifting to another invokes an experience I can best describe as video game deja vu, the sense that I’ve done something very much, but not entirely, like this before. I’m on the fence as to whether that’s a good thing or not, but one thing I do know:
These three expansions prove my contention at the top: Everything’s been done before, so stop worrying about being original and start worrying about being good.

25 Gamers On The Most Gruesome Story That Stuck With Them Long After They Finished Playing
New Post has been published on http://foursprout.com/happiness/25-gamers-on-the-most-gruesome-story-that-stuck-with-them-long-after-they-finished-playing/
25 Gamers On The Most Gruesome Story That Stuck With Them Long After They Finished Playing

1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl
“In S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, there were several underground research labs full of all kind of spooky and paranormal badness and other sorts of anomalies. It was like exploring a haunted house except the ghosts were real and there’s a psychic force slowly driving you insane. Also it’s pitch black and you can get lost really easily.” — Innalibra
2. Outlast
“Outlast and Alien Isolation gave me so much anxiety I had to stop playing them.
I managed to complete Outlast and Outlast 2, but I haven’t touched Alien in years. There’s no way I’m going through 20 hours of that shit.” — HearTheEkko
3. Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem
“That game fucked with your head so much using the sanity meter. For those that haven’t played it here are some of things that would happen:
When entering a room, the character may turn into a Zombie, and ‘die’ a moment later or after going through some doors.
Attempting to cast Recover may cause the character’s torso to explode, resulting in a (fake) death of the character.
When entering a room, the character’s limbs may explode in a systematic order, going for the head, the arms and then the torso, resulting in a (fake) death of the character.
When entering a room, the character may shrink or grow while moving. This is most commonly seen in the strange curved corridors of the Forbidden City.
When entering a room and when holding a gun, the character can shoot at nothing at random times or turn around and shoot at the camera leaving a fake bullet hole in the screen. (Similiar to the Prologue of the James Bond movies, and in Resident Evil 2.)
When attempting to reload a gun, it may go off in the character’s stomach, resulting in a (fake) death of the character. This is most prominent in Max’s chapter, for he is the only one without a bigger gun than his flintlock pistols. Revolvers in other chapters have been known to cause this phenomenon to occur as well.
When entering a room, the character’s head falls off (but can be picked up), and levitates on screen reciting ‘HAMLET’.
The screen goes black, as if the TV went off.
Bugs may appear to be crawling on the TV screen.
The game will lower the gameplay volume while displaying a green volume bar, similar to real on-screen TV settings.
The screen goes black and changes to video mode, and you will hear your character getting eaten until they ‘die’. (Even without a ‘Break Free’ control stick, the unseen Zombie can still be pushed away)
A false sneak-preview of a sequel to the game, called ‘Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Redemption’ (the original planned sequel to ‘Sanity’s Requiem’) will appear.
Upon saving your game, a message will say, ‘Are you sure you want to delete all of your Saved Games?’ If you say yes or no, the saved files will be ‘deleted’.
A ‘Blue Screen of Death’ will appear.
You will see the image you see when you start up or reset the game, quoting Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’ in Edward Roivas’ voice.
When the controller is left idle long enough, a still ‘screensaver’ shot of Pious will appear on the screen until a button is pressed.
When you open your inventory screen, all your inventory spaces appear empty.
When entering a room, the character may be unable to move or attack, and the player will get a fake system message telling that a controller isn’t plugged in, while the many zombies attack them.
A fake screen message will appear, congratulating the player for finishing the demo of the game.
The camera begins leaning as the Sanity Meter lowers.” — -eDgAR-
4. Doki Doki
“My old roommate was playing this game and I thought it was some dating sim game. So, I left and went to play some game and I hear him yell ‘JESUS FUCKING CHRIST NO!!!’ and was like ‘yo, wtf dude you alright?’
I kid you not he was white as a fucking sheet and literally shut his computer (gaming laptop) and proceeded to go outside. I’ve known the dude for two years and worked with him for one. He hates going outside… But, not after Doki Doki. That shit made him contemplate life.
I’m scared to even buy the game if it did that to an anti-social recluse.” — xItz_Anthonyx34
5. Bloodborne
“Everything about Bloodborne is disturbing and eerie, the atmosphere, the monsters the unpredictability of the world itself, by far the most tense I felt playing a video game.” — Novasex
6. Until Dawn
“Until Dawn was pretty fucking well done. At times it was like they were trying to hard, but over all one of the best horror anything I’ve played/watched/read.” — murderousbudgie
7. Amnesia
“I got a cracked version of Amnesia from a friend.
Loaded it, stepped into the main hall, heard scary noises. Have never played again.” — iKILLcarrots
8. Condemned: Criminal Origins
“There is no game that has filled me with a worse sense of dread than Condemned: Criminal Origins.
Yes, the graphics aren’t great and there are a few things that aren’t great, such as the story or a couple levels, but still. I have yet to play a game that has such a good sense of suspense, dread, and fear of the unknown.
It has such good enemy reveals, such as the mannequins in the department store. Or the starving corrupted beings in the sewer.
It uses audio and visuals perfectly, and has very good foreshadowing, such as how you can sometimes look behind you and catch a glimpse of the late game enemies, or how it purposefully misleads you for things such as the locker jumpscare, or how SKX isn’t The Match Maker.
Overall, C:CO is a phenomenal game and I highly suggest everyone to play it if they want a great psychological horror game.” — PhReAkOuTz
9. Subnautica
“I’ve played a ton of horror games – my roommate and I went on a kick where we’d stream ourselves playing every horror game we could find, from big names like Outlast/Outlast 2 and RE7 to lesser known indie games.
Subnautica has honestly scared me way more than pretty much every one of those. It’s just that feeling that there’s something out there, especially when you’re diving into new areas. I’ve literally jumpscared myself by accidentally driving the Seamoth into a tiny fish without noticing – there’s just way more chances to run into something unexpected that won’t be given away by the soundtrack or something else (most horror games really give away their jump scares).
Love that game.” — blay12
10. The 11th Hour
“I always remember the 7th Guest & 11th Hour creeping me out. The way the games gradually descended into the eerie parts made it more disturbing than games that start right out with the horror and jump scares.” — wj333
11. Silent Hill
“They might not hold up as well now but I remember being scared shitless playing the first Fatal Frame and Silent Hill games as a kid sitting in the dark down in my basement.” — TheLastSpoonBender
12. Dying Light
“Playing Dying Light at like 1 in the morning. Especially when you got to the point when the running zombies were introduced.” — PM_ME_UR_BOOBSICLES
13. Gone Home
“Gone Home. I was so sure my dead sister’s corpse was going to suddenly tap me on the shoulder. Especially down in that stupid basement. I sprinted to all those lamps immediately.” — olive1112
14. Doom 3
“Probably Doom 3, especially in that dark corridor where the babies were crying.” — DejectedHead
15. Riven
“I remember playing this game as a kid and being absolutely terrified when the wahrk swims up to the window. I could never figure out why everything about the game made me feel so creeped out and uncomfortable but I think [the] emptiness and isolation was what did it.” — JosefGordonLightfoot
16. Dead Space
“The Dead Space series, especially the first game. That game made me jump so many damn times. I loved it!” — nope_noperstein
17. Parasite EVE
“Parasite EVE for PS1.
Playing it as a kid probably has something to do with why it was so scary to me, but seeing people infected with a sentient parasite and grotesquely mutating was pretty intense.” — Serukaizen
18. Manhunt
“Manhunt, that shit was pretty intense when it first came out… Using things like piano wire to not only choke people to death, but to actually saw the guys head off…
Also came with classic lines such as ‘I can smell the shit in your pants’ whilst being hunted.” — Jee187
19. Penumbra: Overture
“Penumbra: Overture is scary shit, and has a terrific story as well. The entire series is great, although Requiem is more like added content than anything.
The SCP games were super low fi but actually pretty terrifying, too.” — ZeusAmmon
20. SCP Containment Breach
“SCP Containment Breach. I am not trying to sound like a manly badass but there are few horror games that can scare me in the same way as SCP Containment Breach. I always quit the game early because I get scared of the sculpture and don’t feel like playing after that.” — Edgyfaggot6969666
21. Half Life
“I couldn’t play Half Life. Never even saw the first enemy. The sounds and suspense stressed me out too much. Dead Space got me too. I’ve played plenty of horror games but couldn’t do those. I’m sure there were a couple others between those two I’m forgetting. Just some of em strike me the right (wrong?) way.” — rectalstresses
22. First Encounter Assault Recon
“I enjoyed the creepy darkness and sounds/jumpscares in the F.E.A.R Series.” — Uppgrade
23. SOMA
“Have y’all played SOMA? It was good but everything freaked me out even days after I finished it.” — Shiruet
24. Resident Evil
“Resident Evil 7 is so disturbing and graphic. I had to look away so many times.” — ccr3ds
25. Spooky’s House Of Jump Scares
“Spooky’s House Of Jump Scares.
It starts off cartoony with the cardboard cutouts.
But it goes downhill fast.
And they keep doing the cardboard cutouts to keep you on your toes.” — Pasta-hobo
