If you’re not familiar with 5E rules, don’t worry! Roleplaying games are about letting your imagination run wild as you create your own characters and stories. The rules provide support for your imagination and structure for your hero, but take a back seat to the FUN play at the table.
For those new to roleplaying games entirely, we are providing Jake’s Shmowzow Guide to Roleplaying Games with every copy of the Core Book exclusively on Kickstarter. It’s a simple guide to get any person started having fun with the Adventure Time RPG. Written by Ray Winninger, co-designer of the DC Heroes RPG and former Executive Producer of Dungeons & Dragons, the guide includes the needed core rules from the 5E OGL, a simple step-by-step explanation of the simple ideas you need to understand to begin play, and finally a walk-through of the character creation process. All guided by Jake!
Tumblr media
Adventure Time has its roots in the older editions of Dungeons & Dragons, with episodes and story arcs that grew from the pastiche fantasy adventure that the second and third editions laid out so beautifully. We believe that the high-quality design of 5E—and its very nature—are well-suited to capturing the open-ended excitement and sense of wonder that are at the core of Adventure Time. If Dungeons & Dragons gave birth to Adventure Time, using 5E for Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game brings everything full circle and is true to the spirit of the series.
We believe that we can craft and implement the world of Ooo and the features of the Adventure Time RPG best in 5E, empowering you with the feeling that you can be any person you want to be and that anything can happen when you step out your door for adventure!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But how, exactly, do you explore Ooo? This is a tabletop roleplaying game built using the Dungeons & Dragons rules, basically. In fact, if you are familiar with those rules, you already know all about how to play Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game.
If you’re not familiar with those rules, you don’t need to worry. Dungeons & Dragons is a game about letting your imagination run wild; it is a game that is played through conversation, is moderated by dice, and takes place in your cranial. As you adventure through the amazing land of Ooo, stuff will happen. There is a player, called the Dungeon Master, who will tell you about that stuff.
As a brave adventurer, you will want to respond to your Dungeon Master with awesome heroic actions. Your character will have a set of attributes and some skills and powers that provide options for those reactions. But you can respond however a person could respond (if that person was a Wildberry Person, with an axe!). However you respond, you will tell the Dungeon Master what you want to do.
Once you choose your action, it’s time to get mathematical with it. You will roll a twenty-sided die and add a bonus number to it, based on the attribute (or skill or power) that is most applicable to the action. If the total number is high enough to equal or exceed a target set by the Dungeon Master, you will succeed, and the skill or power will dictate the results of that action.
And that's all there is to it! Imagine what the Dungeon Master tells you, have a conversation with the Dungeon Master about what you want to do, and roll a twenty-sided die to see if it works. Three simple steps to exploring (and loving!) the Land of Ooo.
And we’ve got some sweet new mechanics to enhance your awesome RPG experience and fill it with Adventure Time!

We are back! We discuss the current Kickstarter Campaign Dynamite Comics is running to bring back the Gargoyles comics published by Marvel in the 90’s (featuring art by Amanda Conner!) and the canon Gargoyles comics published by SLG in the aughts; and we’re joined by Gargoyles’ colorist, Robby Bevard; Bad Guys artist, Karine Charlebois; and series creator, Greg Weisman!!!
But we need your help! As of this posting, Greg Weisman’s Twitter account is still hacked, so he has been unable to use that platform to spread the word! So we need you, the fans, to come in! Spread the word! Participate in the Kickstarter! Figure out which version of the books works best for you! And let’s show Disney that this is a viable property! Not just a little property with a small cult following, but something truly viable! So spread the word! Reach out to anyone you know who would be interested! Tell them about this Kickstarter! Tell them about the comics! And tell them about our podcast!
We then give our First Impressions on Gargoyles #11 and Dark Ages #5! It’s the penultimate issues for both series before Gargoyles Quest kicks off in the coming weeks! Comic book spoiler talk begins at 25:21 and ends at 49:38.
Finally, Greg Weisman delivers his State of the Franchise Address! Where we’ve been, what we’ve accomplished, and what we have to look forward to for the 30th Anniversary! More comics! A convention get-together and maybe even more than that!
Don’t forget to participate in the Kickstarter!
Available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon Audible, Spotify, and your podcatcher of choice! And join us on Patreon for the Exclusive Video Edition! Although, not so-exclusive for this installment, as we’re making the video edition free on YouTube!

FLASH REPORT: Ankama launches American crowdfunding platform 'Kickstarter' to finance the 5th and final season of 'Wakfu' with expected new release date [#K5NewsFMExclusive]
Tumblr media
(Written by Andrea Davenport & Rhayniel Saldasal Calimpong / Assistant Station Manager of ONC and Freelance Online Media Reporter of ONC, News Writer & Presenter of OneNETnews)
ROUBAIX, FRANCE -- French entertainment company 'Ankama Animations' is initially set to launch a global crowdfunding campaign for the 5th and final season of Wakfu on 'Kickstarter'. Contrary to earlier beliefs that the 4th season would be the concluding installment, even the spicy webcomic that is not being animated on national French kids' TV, this new season will mark the series' true finale.
An exclusive press release sent through 'K5 News FM: Dumaguete' reveals quotes from Mr. Anthony Roux, the show creator and co-director of the French TV series. The upcoming final season will conclude the adventures of now-married 'Yugo Sharm' the eliatrope and their friends. A teaser video was released on Wednesday afternoon (February 5th, 2025 -- France local time) on YouTube, under the umbrella of 'Alphabet' (Google's parent company) and hints at a mystery as the clock strikes midnight.
Roux has confirmed that the 5th and final season will feature the last 26 new episodes. As previously announced by 'Ankama Showtime' last year in mid-December 2024, this season concludes 16 years of animated adventures with the 'Brotherhood of the Tofu'. During an online press briefing… Ankama's Transmedia Manager "XyaLe7111" told K5 News FM: Dumaguete news team that the storyline will focus on the early days of Yugo Sharm and Amalia Sheran Sharm's marriage, introducing a new narrative arc and a potential new villain, whose identity remains undisclosed.
The final chapter of this French cartoon show eyes up the excitement. Ankama benefits from the support of a French public broadcaster 'France Televisions', but the Kickstarter campaign remains essential to offer a high-quality production. The cost of new episodes is around €UR500,000 or a total budget of €UR13 million (which is approximately PHP30,162,600 or PHP784,227,600 million Philippine pesos).
Thanks to partners and regional aid, 50-60% of the budget is already covered there, while Ankama finances the rest in full. Fan support is therefore crucial to allow the studio to remain artistically independent and preserve the creativity that has made the series successful.
In the Kickstarter at launch, there are 7 pledge levels to finance the show. Price starts at €UR25 for 'The Final Countdown', then 'Start of a New Era' costs €UR69, following 'Battle for the Eliacube' costs €UR149, 'My Brother, My King' also costs €UR219 and 'Grougaloragran the Eternal' cost €UR399 from levels 1 to 5.
'Far from the World' at Level 6 costs €UR2,500 which is limited to 50 copies and comes with several perks in VIP studio tour, masterclass, preview show for the advance screening of its first 2 new episodes of Wakfu (Season 5 - The Final Season) and a script collection made and signed by the show creator himself.
And lastly, 'I am a Legend' ends at Level 7 with a cost of €UR8,000 and comes with an Animated Credit Scene, your opportunity to take part in voice dubbing a scene of this said French cartoon show, and the illustrated Director's Original by 'Alexandre Ulmann' known as 'Malec', who is a storyboarder and 2nd co-director of the show.
'K5 News FM: Dumaguete' learned that the 5th and final season of 'Wakfu' is expected to be release around 2027 or 2028. A preview will be available on 'France Televisions' and 'Animation Digital Network' platforms, likely sometime before or after the 2028 Summer Olympics in the United States of America (U.S.A.).
As we wait for the final season, Wakfunians can now support the show directly through the American crowdfunding platform 'Kickstarter', with pledge levels ranging from €UR25 to €UR8,000 so that the beloved animated series can end its 16-year run with the creative freedom that made it a fan favorite.
For now, you can watch the best highlights of Season 4 on your own, or if you're new to the French cartoon when you can stream the latest episodes over to the 'france.tv' website, the 'Okoo' mobile app, Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video in France. Kickstarter's crowdfunding platform will be launched globally next Wednesday beginning February 12th. Wakfunian enthusiasts are inviting everyone to carefully consider their contribution levels to help fund the 5th and final season of the show.
Please contribute responsibly and prep your WALLETS READY.
