“Who’s your celebrity crush?” She got up with a smile super excited to talk about you.

“It’s that one girl, she goes to umich and she does like day in the life and like get ready with me’s. I forgot her name!”

The comments immediately knew who she was talking about.

You were scrolling on TikTok, and your notifications went crazy. People kept tagging you in this video, but you never checked it and just silenced mentions.

Thank God your friend asked if you wanted to go to the basketball game next week.

How N/n and Kate met:

“Hey guys! So today we are going to a basketball game. A girls basketball game because women sports are better and more entertaining.” You were vlogging your time before, during, and after the game and you were with your friend in the wolverine colors.

“Who’s playing?” You ask your friend.

“I think Iowa and I heard that they’re good so this will be fun.” They responded.

“So we’re getting some snacks from the vending machine because the food that they sell is-.” Your friend cut you off.

“Fucking terrible! Omg did I tell you when I literally got food poisoning from it? Almost died for real.” You were shocked because they never told you that. They laughed at your reaction.

While you guys were getting snacks the Iowa team were coming into the locker room. While they were walking Kate saw you at the vending machine and freaked out.

“Jada! Jada! Look who’s at the vending machine!” She looked and started going crazy with Kate. Gabbie saw this and just had to ask. “Why are yall freaking out?” They just pointed to the vending machine.

“Oh my god! Is that N/n L/n?!” They nodded out of excitement.

“Kate get her number!” Jada exclaimed. Kate looked at her with wide eyes. “What! No!”

“Why not? Just go!” She pushed Kate and you saw her, and it looked like she tripped so you went up to her.

“Oh my god! Are you okay?” She looked up and widened her eyes. “Yea yea I’m fine thanks for asking.” You looked at her and your jaw actually dropped. Her height alone was very attractive and her eyes oh my. "Oh ok, wait are you on Iowa?"

"Uh yea I was just going to the locker room."

"Oh well I'm Y/n or N/n whatever you feel comfortable with."

"I'm Kate." She smiled and turned to Jada; Jada mouthed "get her number now!" She turned back to you. "Do you think I can get your number?" You raised your eyebrows, and you looked shocked. "If you're not into girls its fine I'll just go-."

"No, it's fine and yea you can get my number." You gave it to her and went back to your friend who was recording the whole thing. Jada was jumping up and down out of excitement when Kate came back.

After the game you started editing your video and left in your interaction with Kate and the comments went crazy.

"So do you want to be my girlfriend?" You look at her in shock. "Are you serious?!" She nodded. "Yea I'll be your girlfriend." You smiled.

When Y/n surprised Kate:

You and Kate haven't seen each other in three months. Since it was winter it was very hard to find a flight that wasn't getting delayed or cancelled but luckily you found one and are on your way to Iowa now.

You told Kate that there was a big snowstorm coming and you couldn't come until next week. That was obviously a lie. You were informed by Caitlin that there was a team dinner tonight and you should surprise her there. Right now, you are vlogging your trip to Iowa and now in a hotel room with Caitlin. "Alright guys I'm in Iowa right now with Cait." "Hey everybody!" She yelled. "But we are getting ready for the team dinner and surprise Kate. So, this will cut to when we're ready."

"Hey guys so Y/n is still not ready so I will be occupying you guys." Cait said while setting up the camera. Before she can you came in. "Oh my god she's here guys."

"I did not take that long!" Cait just rolled her eyes. You picked up the camera. "Ok so we are going to show our outfits even though they're basic black dresses." You flipped the camera to show Cait and she started posing dramatically. Then took the camera to show you and you did the same thing you both laughed, and it cut to you hiding in the bathroom of the restaurant.

After an hour passed Jada knocked on the stall and you rushed out and Jada was holding your camera. "Is it recording?" You shook your head and turned it on. "She was literally talking about you the whole dinner." You laughed. "No really, she was like 'I miss N/n' 'I'm seeing her next week, but I wanted to see her today.' You took the camera from Jada.

The team was getting ready to leave when Coach said they're going to take a picture. Lisa was in on it, and she saw you and asked to take a picture. "Hey, can you take a picture of us?" She says smiling. "Yea of course." Kate recognized your voice but didn't turn around because you're not here anyway. You took her phone to take the picture and Kate's jaw dropped and her eyes widened. You took the picture. "We should retake it because Kate's face ruins the photo." You said laughing. She ran up to hug you. "What about the snowstorm?"

Kate is in Michigan and you are at your parent’s house just until the apartment you have gets ready for you. Your parents know that Kate is coming over and it’s killing your mom that she can’t tell you.

You got a call from Kate and you answered it. “Hello?”

“Hey N/n I sent you a little present and it says it delivered say can you check if it’s there?” You had a confused look on your face. “Ok?”

Kelly Severide x Reader

Kelly's found his reason to turn away from the darkness and towards the light

Drowning. That was the only way to describe the point Kelly hit after everything.Too much loss, too much pain, too much everything. He couldn’t handle it anymore. One day he walked into the firehouse and noticed a new face in Boden’s office. He knew he was getting a new member on rescue squad but he hadn’t known it was a woman. 

Boden waved him in when he noticed him “Severide, come meet your new addition” the woman turned towards him and he noticed the smile she had. It was so damn genuine, even though she was just meeting him. “Nice to meet you lieutenant. Look forward to working with you” she’d told him with a nod. He cut his eyes at Boden before saying “Nice to meet you and when we aren’t on a scene just cut the lieutenant. It’s Kelly” “Kelly” she repeated and he didn’t want to acknowledge the fact that he liked how his name sounded coming from her. 

“There’s a couple empty lockers, just pick one and put your name on it. If you need any help settling into the house just come find me” he offered and the look she gave him knocked the breath out of him. What the hell was he supposed to do with this sunshine of a woman on squad? She was breathing air into his lungs for the first time in months and he barely knew her. “Thanks Kelly” she told him then nodded to Boden “Thanks for the warm welcome Chief” then walked out.

“Chief, is she a good fit?” Kelly asked once she was out of the room. Boden tapped a file on top of his desk “Do you want her file? She has a record that could match yours when it comes to rescues. Don’t let the smile fool you, she’s a force” Kelly nodded slowly “I’d believe it”

As you integrated into the family that was the crew at fifty one you started to hear some talk about your lieutenant, mainly the hard time he’d been facing since losing someone important and a lot of dominos falling on him after that.

Your heart ached for him. Kelly seemed like a pretty decent guy. He had a damn good save record, was a bit of a hot head from what you could gather but you weren’t always the calmest either. What firefighter was? 

You tried and failed a few times to get him to talk to you during down time but you weren’t deterred. You would win him over eventually.

You were in the common area when a call rang out summoning rescue squad. You slapped Cruz on the boot “Off your ass Joe before our lovely lieutenant has to come find us” about that time Kelly walked past the two of you headed for the bays “Little late on that one darlin. Let’s get a move on”

You grinned at Cruz who shook his head “Quit poking at him. He won’t yell at you” you shrugged “Sorry” 

Kelly could hear your laughter from his quarters and looked up to see you were dancing with Gabby in the common area and sticking your tongue out at Matt who simply laughed in amusement. How the hell did you have the duality you had was beyond him. He’d seen you be the first to put on dive gear and go into the water on a call then turned around and help a kid find their kitten after.

You were sweet, he never thought to use that word to describe someone. Let alone someone on his team but here he was. You were the sweetest person he’d ever freaking met. You always met him at the door in the morning time with a smile and some sort of ramble to start the day.

When it was nighttime and he couldn’t sleep he would hear a soft knock at the door of his quarters and there you would be, most of the time with either coffee or hot chocolate that you had hidden somewhere in the firehouse and refused to tell him where your stash was.

On the days you two had off he would find himself dreading not seeing you, only for you to end up calling him with the excuse of either “My friend backed out of a movie and I already had tickets” or “I wanna go get a drink but men are creeps. Be my bodyguard?” or something along those lines. He had somehow dug himself out of the hole he’d been in just to be able to see you another day. You managed to work your way past every wall he had built up without him ever realizing it.

The day he asked you out, he hadn’t wanted it to be weird. He was your lieutenant after all. You’d simply laughed and said “Of course I’ll go out with you Kelly” that was nearly six months ago now. 

You didn’t know that by simply choosing fifty one you’d saved him in so many ways. He never meant to fall for the pretty little ray of sunshine on his squad but the longer he knew you, the more he fell and to be honest he didn’t want to keep from falling. He was stuck in that darkness for so long, your light and warmth was everything to him.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by you calling his name. He cut his eyes up to see you’d finally let Matt have Gabby back and was holding a hand out towards him “Come on Kel, spin me around before a call comes in?” 

He didn’t like dancing out at bars but somehow he found his feet moving towards you. So much for the hot headed lieutenant that picked fights at every turn and was so full of anger he didn’t like himself. He slipped his arms around you and shook his head with a laugh “The only person on earth that could get me to dance in the common area of the station house”

You smiled up at him and christ, anything you wanted out of him in that moment he’d give you just to have you keep looking at him like that “You know you love me Kel” “Yeah, I do” he spoke softly and your eyes widened. “I said that outloud didn’t I?” he asked as the two of you danced. You nodded but held onto his shoulders tight so he couldn’t retreat “Do you mean it?”

“Yeah” he replied softly and you smiled “Good because I love you too” “You do?” he asked and you nodded “I do” so he leaned down to press a soft kiss to your lips, never minding the comments he heard from around the room. They didn’t matter in that moment, the only thing that did was hearing you say you loved him. Anything else could wait.

Hi guys! I’m not sure too many of you care, but here’s my SUPER lengthy review of Romeo + Juliet on Broadway at Circle in the Square!!! Kit Connor (my husband) 4life

This show was so goddamn incredible. I cried at least twice during act 1 and at least once during act 2. I’ve had these tickets since the day they dropped, before ever scheduling any travel plans or hotel, I knew I wanted to see this for my birthday. I’ve been obsessed with Kit Connor since season 1 of Heartstopper. I’ve since bought the cologne he wears (I just got a bigger bottle for Christmas, I love it!) (it’s Jermyn Street by Floris London) and gushed over every behind the scenes pic I could get for Heartstopper seasons 2 and 3. I’ve known Rachel Zegler since my best friend let me into her world of Lucy Gray obsession and I found out how sweet and charismatic and talented Rachel is. Also, I have personal connections to another actor in this show! They don’t know me, but I know them through knowing one of their family members. This wasn’t any form of advantage but it was so cool to keep my eye on them and see how incredibly they really did. The entire cast was phenomenal. I really loved Gabby Beans performance as Mercutio, in particular. The double casting was incredible.

Ambience:

- Consuming the marketing before seeing the show, I was weary of it possibly being too millenial, too “modern”, too kitsch almost? But in the cringe tryhard way, not the naturally eclectic way. I knew they’d be intertwining pop music and modern clothes into the show, with the tagline being ‘The Youth Are Fucked’. I was so pleasantly surprised to be able to say that these features did nothing but make the show shine, and absolutely added to how incredibly bizarre this piece was. From the neon lights (and overall great light choreo) to teddy bears everywhere (still no clue where the bear motif comes from!) to synth background music and a few real pop songs, it added such an odd layer of the actors really feeling themselves and giving the audience time to breathe and feel.

- I should also mention my wonderful seats. The theater is shaped like a small arena, with the circular stage being slightly raised from the floor seats, and two doorways off stage, each on either end with an exit sign. One is primarily dedicated to Romeo and the other to Juliet, sitting atop the doorways and using them to navigate the rest of the theater (like accessing a cool catwalk that spans every direction of the ceiling!). We were incredibly lucky to be sat RIGHT behind Romeo’s “station”, about 2 rows behind it and about 4 seats in from it. Great view of Kit. All the freaking time.

- One last thing to mention is they had live captioning visible to like the top half of the theater, I’d say the first 5 rows from the top were able to see the screen programmed with the lines. Sometimes the timing was a bit off but generally if you couldn’t make something out audibly, you could look up and see the line.

Act 1:

- This act was playful and violent and FUN. There was dancing and singing and even the fighting and murders felt like a dance. Everything was friendly (and quite gay, too) while still being very Shakespearean. My favorite *aspect* of this act was getting to see a group of men all comfortable in their masculinity and queerness dancing and jumping half naked around the stage. It was really hot. My favorite *scene* of Act 1 was when Kit (Romeo) is running all around audience aisles and the stage declaring Juliet’s beauty and his love for her. He was so fucking dedicated and passionate and genuine in his acting, I cried here. Nothing hotter than a man committed to performance. I should also note Rachel (Juliet)’s incredible singing. She sings solo twice in Act 1 and her live singing sounds SO well done. I adored everything from Benvolios playfulness to the Nurse’s flirty-ness to Romeo’s dedication to all the great stage fighting. And of course…the pull up kiss / balcony scene. Nothing I can say except beautiful and well done and hot as fuck.

Act 2:

- This is when the trendy obscure stuff starts to fade and Shakespeare is at the forefront. Like half of the characters are already dead and everyone’s outfits are darker and the monologues are longer and there’s really not much music. If you’re into tragic chemistry and emotional scripting, this part is wonderful. But for me, I was slightly bored. Romeo’s boyish romance is gone and all that’s left is devotion and tragedy. It’s tough. It’s especially tough if you have people around you frequently coughing or sniffling or whispering (nudge nudge). Sometimes it takes you out of the moment and you really want to flip them off. Etiquette, people!!! Anyways, the acting is great it’s just more….STRAIGHT play. It had one moment where they needed to do a set/blocking change in blackout so they had a character break the fourth wall and do an intentionally bad sing along to “We Are Young” which I found annoying but I suppose it was necessary for distraction, but I wish they chose something a little better.

Anyway, that’s it! Seeing Kit and Rachel and Tommy and Gabby and everyone else be so dedicated to their craft brought me to tears. Oh, and the shirtless buff men being sweaty and kinda gay definitely helped.

SEATTLE STORM DIE DIE DIE STOP PLAYING WITH NIKA I SWEAR THIS IS ANGERING ME SO BAD RN how will Nika get better and adjust to the league if these dipshits don’t put her on the court with the team they’re getting new people onto the team (love gabby williams js saying) when they have a rookie who’s not even getting time to play and learn the WNBA like the Aces let Kate get time almost every other game like for 2 minutes minimum even with Aaliyah she gets more playing time as a rookie adjusting and like obviously not expecting Nika to play the whole entire game like we know she’s not a vet but to have her on the bench majority of the entire freaking season is crazy and the playoffs are almost here so god forbid if we even see her play one goddamn time 🙂 like it’s giving why did they even draft her if they planned to just have her sit around like yeah we all know Nika isn’t the top shooter in the league shes had amazing highlights and moments but she’s better at guarding but still just because she’s not perfect at every single thing basketball related doesn’t mean she don’t deserve time

"Aren't you meant to be resting? Strict orders from Natalie?" Cruz asks as he and Matt help me to sit down

"Yes I'll be fine. I'm in a room full of firemen and two paramedics, I'll be fine"

"If your sure" Matt places a kiss on the top of my head "if anything's wrong you tell someone to get me"

"Yeah yeah off you go" Matt walks off towards his office. Gabby comes to sit opposite me smiling

"Do you feel ready?" She asks

"Yes and no. I'm ready not to be pregnant and worry so much, but I'm also freaking out because Matt hasn't even built the crib yet. We've got it but it's not built"

"Hey YN Cindy has been going through some old baby things if you want them? You and Matt can come over and take a look. Have what you want"

"Thanks Herrmann" a cup of hot tea is then placed in front of me by Sylvie "you guys need to stop fussing. Your worse than Matt and Kelly at home. You knew I haven't washed the dishes once since I found out I was pregnant" I laugh shaking my head

"Damn Matts setting up all of us to fail" Cruz yells from the couch. I then wince feeling the baby kick me in the ribs

"Do you want anything to eat?"

"Yeah. You got chicken nuggets and ice cream?" I ask for my craved food

"Yeah, but please tell me your not going to dip the nuggets into the ice cream"

"Errr" I then just smile at Cruz who shakes his head "well I'd say you could go and get me a McDonald's and I'll have their chicken nugget meal"

"Just so you can dip the fries in the shake or ice cream" I give Cruz a pout. He sighs "fine I'll go and make you some chicken nuggets"

"Thank you"

After a few hours Matt is finished everything he needs to do we get in his car and head home

"Baby hasn't stopped kicking me today" I groan feeling uncomfortable. Matt places his free hand on my stomach

"Hey little one. Can you stop wriggling and kicking so much. I think your making mommy feel uncomfortable and sore" for whatever reason, Matt talking to the baby and touching my bump help settle the little one down

"Thank you" I sigh leaning my head on the window of the car

"Don't go to sleep on me. We're only 2 minutes away from home"

"I'm just resting my eyes"

"Famous last words" I hear Matt mutter

"I'm not going to be able to fall asleep in 2 minutes am I? It takes me forever to sleep"

"I can't wait for little one to be born"

"Me either"

We finally arrive home. Matt helps me out of the car and down onto the couch. Matt sits next to me while I stuck on the TV I curl up under a blanket with Matts arms around me and my head on his shoulder

"You need to build the crib" i mutter feeling my eyes struggling to stay open

"I will, tomorrow I promise"

"I don't think we have long left" I tell him"

"We're not booked in for another 3 weeks"

"Baby will be here before then. I can feel it"

"Ok whatever you say" and with that I can't stay awake any longer. I fall asleep on the couch feeling so loved and warm. Now we're at the homestretch, I can't wait to have this baby.

Chapter Eight: Unable To Walk Away

Y/N barely made it inside her apartment before she pulled out her phone, her heart still racing, her skin tingling from the lingering warmth of CJ’s touch. Without hesitation, she tapped on Gabby’s contact and pressed call. It rang only once before Gabby picked up, her voice already knowing and smug.

“Oh my God, finally! I’ve been waiting for this call,” Gabby gushed. “Spill. Everything. Right now.”

Y/N let out a dreamy sigh as she flopped onto her couch, hugging a throw pillow to her chest. “Gabby, it was perfect.”

Gabby squealed on the other end. “I knew it! I knew it! Okay, details. Now.”

Y/N let out a soft laugh, already melting into her memories of the evening. “The whole night was just... easy. We talked so much, like we always do, but this time it felt different. More personal. We kept finding all these little things we didn’t realize we had in common, and I was just sitting there thinking, how is he real?”

Gabby gasped dramatically. “I told you! CJ is your snow-on-the-beach moment! Keep going!”

Y/N giggled, tucking her legs beneath her as she sank further into the couch. “The drive there was fun—he teased me about Gabby-approved icebreakers, and I made him tell me about his worst karaoke moment.”

Gabby gasped. “Wait. He told you about that? I’ve been trying to get him to admit to it for years!”

Y/N grinned. “Not only that, but I have confirmation that Priya has the video.”

Gabby let out a delighted shriek. “I love this for you. And me. But mostly you.”

Y/N shook her head, still smiling. “The diner was so cute. And the food? Incredible. But the best part? I realized during dinner that CJ was in my English 203 class four years ago.”

“No. Way.” Gabby practically screamed. “Wait. Wait. Are you telling me you spent a whole semester crushing on him before and neither of you realized?”

Y/N groaned, burying her face in the pillow. “YES. I can’t believe I didn’t recognize him sooner. But Gabby—that’s not even the best part.”

Gabby was barely containing herself. “I swear to God, if you tell me he also had a crush on you, I might actually pass out.”

Y/N giggled, her cheeks warm. “Gabby. He also had a crush on me.”

A pause. Then—

“AHAHAHAHAHA! I KNEW IT! I FREAKING KNEW IT! THIS IS FATE, Y/N!”

Y/N couldn’t stop the lovesick smile spreading across her face. “I’m still in shock. We just sat there, staring at each other like idiots, realizing we wasted four years not knowing.”

Gabby groaned dramatically. “If only you had talked to him back then. But no, fate decided to drag this slow burn out for maximum emotional impact.”

Y/N sighed happily. “Honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Gabby gasped. “You’re so soft for him.”

Y/N laughed, pressing the pillow to her face before admitting in a muffled voice, “I am so soft for him.”

Gabby squealed again. “I LOVE THIS! This is the best update of my life. But hold on—what happened when he dropped you off? Any goodnight kiss action?”

Y/N’s cheeks flushed deeply, and she bit her lip, suddenly shy. “...Yeah.”

Gabby gasped. “OH MY GOD. WAS IT SWEET? PASSIONATE? DID YOU WEAKEN AT THE KNEES?”

Y/N melted further into the couch. “Gabby, I swear I forgot how to breathe. It started soft, like he was testing the waters, but then it just... deepened. Like all the tension that’s been building up between us just finally snapped, and it was everything.”

Gabby was screaming. “YOU’RE IN LOVE WITH HIM.”

Y/N groaned, blushing furiously. “Gabby, stop!”

“YOU’RE FALLING FOR HIM. DON’T EVEN DENY IT!”

Y/N bit her lip, a soft, dreamy smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. “...Maybe.”

Gabby screamed again. “I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU! So? When’s the next date? Oh my God, tell me there’s a next date.”

Y/N laughed, feeling completely overwhelmed—in the best way. “Tomorrow. He asked me out again before I got out of the car.”

Gabby gasped so hard she nearly choked. “THIS IS ACTUALLY A ROMANCE NOVEL. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING. YOU HAVE A SECOND DATE!”

Y/N giggled, tucking herself further into the couch. “I do have a second date.”

Gabby’s voice was practically vibrating with excitement. “You’re gonna marry this man.”

“Gabby!”

“Okay, okay, I’m getting ahead of myself, but STILL. This is the best night of my life, and I wasn’t even on the date! I’m so happy for you, Y/N. You deserve this.”

Y/N felt her heart swell at her best friend’s words. “Thanks, Gabby. That means a lot.”

“No, YOU mean a lot,” Gabby said firmly. “And so does CJ. And if he’s making you this happy, then I’m all in on this love story.”

Y/N sighed, still grinning. “Me too.”

They spent the next twenty minutes dissecting every single detail of the date, Gabby continuing to hype Y/N up at every turn. By the time Y/N finally hung up, she felt warm, giddy, and so incredibly happy.

And as she curled up in bed that night, she couldn’t help but think that this was the beginning of something magical.

The next day, Y/N could barely concentrate at The Stand. Every time she looked at her phone, a little thrill ran through her—because tonight, she was going on another date with CJ.

Gabby had texted her at least fifteen times throughout the day with a mix of “How are you still breathing?” and “Are you dressing cute but effortless? You know, like ‘Oh, this? I totally didn’t spend an hour picking it out’ vibes.”

Priya had simply smirked at her during lunch and said, “So, second date already? Interesting.”

Even Miles, who usually didn’t involve himself in such matters, arched an eyebrow when she spaced out at her desk and muttered, “If you’re gonna daydream about him, at least pretend to be working.”

By the time her shift was over, Y/N was equal parts nervous and excited. She hurried home, Gabby video-calling her as she got ready.

“What are you guys doing tonight?” Gabby asked as Y/N debated between two different sweaters.

“He said it’s a surprise,” Y/N said, finally deciding on the soft, cream-colored one. “But he told me to wear something warm and comfortable.”

Gabby gasped. “OUTDOORS DATE. ROMANTIC WALK. MAYBE HOT CHOCOLATE. MAYBE KISSING UNDER THE STARS. Y/N, I’M—”

Y/N laughed. “Gabby, breathe.”

Gabby dramatically clutched her chest. “I will not breathe. I am too invested in this love story.”

“You need to breathe,” Y/N said, putting on her boots. “Because I will be calling you after.”

Gabby squealed. “That’s all I ask.”

When Y/N stepped outside, CJ was waiting for her by his car, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket. The streetlights cast a golden glow over him, making the moment feel even more surreal.

His eyes softened when he saw her. “Hey.”

“Hey,” Y/N said, smiling. “So, do I get to know where we’re going now?”

CJ smirked as he opened the car door for her. “Not yet. But I promise, you’ll like it.”

Y/N rolled her eyes playfully but got in, her stomach flipping with anticipation.

The drive was peaceful, the quiet hum of the car and the city lights making everything feel warm and intimate. CJ glanced at her as they waited at a stoplight.

“Nervous?” he asked.

Y/N smiled. “Not as much as yesterday.”

CJ chuckled. “Good. Me neither.”

As they drove, Y/N slowly started to recognize the streets, and her curiosity grew.

“Wait... are we going to—”

CJ smiled as he pulled into a parking lot and put the car in park.

“The winter festival?” Y/N finished, eyes wide with delight.

“Yeah,” CJ said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I figured it’d be fun. Something different.”

Y/N turned to him, her excitement bubbling over. “CJ, this is perfect.”

His shoulders relaxed, and he grinned. “Good.”

The festival was beautiful—twinkling lights strung between stalls, the scent of roasted chestnuts and cinnamon filling the air. Children ran around bundled in coats, and couples strolled hand-in-hand, sipping hot cocoa.

CJ walked beside Y/N, hands in his pockets, his expression relaxed. “So, what’s the first thing we do?”

Y/N looked around before grabbing his sleeve and tugging him toward a stand. “Hot chocolate. Non-negotiable.”

CJ chuckled but let her lead him. They each got a steaming cup, and as they walked, Y/N nudged him. “This is already better than I expected.”

CJ smirked. “And we just got here.”

They wandered through the festival, stopping at various booths, laughing at the ridiculous prizes at the ring toss, and admiring the handcrafted ornaments.

Then, they reached the outdoor skating rink. Y/N turned to him with an eager smile. “Oh, we have to skate.”

CJ raised an eyebrow. “Full disclosure—I haven’t skated in years.”

Y/N grabbed his hand, pulling him toward the rental counter. “Then this is going to be fun.”

It started well enough—Y/N had skated a few times before and found her rhythm easily. CJ, on the other hand...

“Oh God,” he muttered, gripping the railing as Y/N skated ahead of him, laughing.

“You weren’t kidding,” she teased, skating back to him. “Come on, just move your feet like this.”

CJ exhaled, cautiously pushing forward. “If I fall, I’m taking you down with me.”

Y/N smirked. “That’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

Slowly, CJ found his balance, and they skated together, the cold air crisp against their cheeks. At some point, Y/N reached for his hand to steady him, and CJ didn’t let go.

The lights twinkled above them, music played softly in the background, and the world around them seemed to slow.

“You’re getting the hang of it,” Y/N said softly, glancing up at him.

CJ smiled, his fingers tightening around hers. “Maybe I just needed a good teacher.”

Y/N’s heart stuttered.

For a moment, it felt like everything was aligned—the past, the present, the moments they had missed before finding their way back to each other.

“I like this,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

CJ’s thumb brushed against her palm. “Me too.”

After skating, they found a quiet bench near the edge of the festival. They sat close, sipping the last of their hot chocolate.

CJ turned to her, his expression softer than she’d ever seen it. “This is the best date I’ve been on in a long time.”

Y/N smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Me too.”

He hesitated, then said, “I was thinking about last night—about how we were in the same class, how we both had crushes on each other.”

Y/N tilted her head. “Yeah?”

CJ exhaled, looking at her like he was still trying to process it. “It just makes me wonder... what if we had figured it out back then?”

Y/N thought for a moment before smiling. “I think we met when we were supposed to.”

CJ smiled back. “I like that.”

The moment stretched between them, and without thinking, Y/N reached for his hand.

CJ’s eyes flickered down to where their fingers intertwined, then back to her. “Can I kiss you?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Y/N’s breath caught, her heart pounding as she nodded. “Yeah.”

CJ leaned in, his lips brushing against hers, slow and gentle, like he was savoring the moment. Y/N melted into it, the cold forgotten, replaced by the warmth of him, of this thing between them that felt so rare, so perfect.

When they pulled apart, CJ smiled against her lips. “Best second date ever?”

Y/N laughed softly. “Easily.”

As they sat there, under the twinkling lights, holding hands and sharing quiet kisses, Y/N knew one thing for sure—this was only the beginning.

After the kiss under the twinkling lights of the winter festival, neither CJ nor Y/N made a move to leave. They lingered on the quiet bench, their hands intertwined, sharing soft smiles and whispered words. The air was crisp, their breath visible in the cold, but neither of them cared.

“You know,” Y/N murmured, leaning into his shoulder, “I don’t really want this night to end.”

CJ exhaled slowly, resting his chin against the top of her head for a moment. “Me neither.”

She turned her face slightly, her cheek brushing against the fabric of his jacket. “So… what do we do?”

CJ chuckled softly. “We could keep walking. Or I could keep embarrassing myself on the ice for your amusement.”

Y/N laughed, her fingers curling around his. “Tempting. But I like you too much to put you through that again.”

CJ smirked, squeezing her hand. “Good to know.”

They ended up strolling back through the festival, taking their time, stopping at a stall selling roasted chestnuts just for the experience. Y/N fed CJ one, and he made a dramatic show of pretending to be unimpressed before admitting, “Okay, yeah. These are actually good.”

Time slipped by unnoticed until eventually, the festival began to quiet, and it was clear the night had to come to an end.

The car ride back to Y/N’s apartment was quieter than before, but not in an awkward way. It was the kind of silence that came when two people were perfectly content, soaking in the night, knowing it had been something special.

Y/N stole glances at CJ as he drove, the faint glow from the dashboard highlighting the sharp lines of his face. His hands gripped the steering wheel casually, but she could see the way his thumb tapped against it—a subtle sign of restlessness.

“What’s on your mind?” she asked softly.

CJ glanced at her, his lips tugging into a small smile. “You.”

Her breath hitched, and she looked down at her lap, a shy smile forming on her lips. “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” CJ murmured, his voice low. “Tonight was... I don’t even have the words.”

Y/N bit her lip, warmth spreading through her chest. “You don’t have to. I feel the same way.”

CJ inhaled deeply, gripping the wheel a little tighter before exhaling. “That makes me really happy.”

When they pulled up outside her apartment, neither of them moved to get out of the car. They sat there in the quiet, the only sound the faint hum of the heater.

CJ turned toward her, his expression softer now, like he was drinking in every detail of her. “I should walk you up.”

Y/N smiled. “You should.”

They made their way up to her door, moving slower than necessary, neither of them willing to break the spell of the night. When they reached her apartment, Y/N hesitated before turning to face him.

CJ took a step closer, his hand coming up to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “I don’t want to leave yet,” he admitted, his voice a little rough.

Y/N’s breath caught, her fingers gripping the fabric of his jacket lightly. “Then don’t.”

CJ exhaled sharply, his hand trailing down to cup her cheek as he leaned in. Their lips met again, slow at first—gentle, savoring, like they had all the time in the world.

But then something shifted.

The kiss deepened, and CJ’s arms wrapped around her, pulling her flush against him. Y/N let out a quiet sigh as her fingers slid into his hair, tilting her head to give him better access. His hand splayed against the small of her back, pressing her closer, and she felt the controlled tension in his body—the restraint he was barely holding onto.

The heat between them built, the kisses turning more urgent, more intense. CJ groaned softly against her lips, like he was fighting against something, and then he suddenly slowed, pulling back just enough to rest his forehead against hers.

His breath was unsteady as he whispered, “I’m trying really hard not to take this further.”

Y/N’s heart pounded, her hands still gripping his jacket. She swallowed, her voice barely above a breath. “Do you want to?”

CJ let out a shaky exhale, his fingers tightening on her waist. “God, yes.”

A delicious shiver ran down her spine at the sheer honesty in his voice.

She licked her lips, her own breath uneven. “Then why are you stopping?”

CJ closed his eyes for a moment, as if trying to gather himself. “Because if I don’t, I won’t be able to.” He pulled back just slightly, meeting her gaze, his expression a mixture of want and restraint. “I don’t want to rush this. I don’t want to mess this up.”

Y/N softened, reaching up to cup his face. “You won’t.”

CJ let out a slow breath, his eyes searching hers. “Let’s take our time, okay? I don’t want this to just be a perfect night—I want all of it to be perfect.”

Y/N smiled, pressing a softer, lingering kiss to his lips. “Okay,” she whispered.

CJ’s shoulders relaxed slightly, and he let out a soft chuckle. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”

Y/N grinned. “Guess we’ll find out.”

CJ groaned playfully, resting his forehead against hers for another moment before finally stepping back. “Go inside before I change my mind.”

Y/N giggled but obeyed, unlocking her door and stepping inside. Before she closed it, she looked up at him one last time.

“Goodnight, CJ.”

CJ smirked, his eyes dark with something she wasn’t sure she’d be able to forget anytime soon. “Goodnight, Y/N.”

She closed the door, pressing her back against it, her lips still tingling from his kisses.

Outside, CJ exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair before chuckling to himself.

Yeah. He was completely screwed.

And he didn’t mind one bit.

Chapter Five

"Why are you dying your hair, you guys barley look alike," Melissa pointed out while she watched Sarah dye her hair your color.

"Trust me, I can get him to think I'm her."

"Don't you think he would know...considering he talked to her??"

"It's been a month, I'm sure he can't fully remember what she looked like."

"There's videos from the concert and from send off and -"

"Melissa! Chill, it will work!"

...

Gabby immediately came over as you were freaking out, determining what to do.

"Just message him, send him a video!"

"You think so??"

"Yeah, let's do your makeup and we'll find a cute top for you to wear. C'mon!" She grabbed your hand and took you to your room, sitting you down at your vanity to start with your makeup.

"What am I going to say? Hey I'm the girl you're looking for??"

"No no no...something a little bit simpler and not sounding dorky."

"I can't believe this is happening," you said staring at the ground, trying to wrap your mind around everything.

"It's like a modern day fairytale! Holy shit, this really does make me your fairy godmother!" She laughed as she applied foundation on your face.

"I guess so," you giggled while your had your eyes closed. "I could say, Hi Chan, thank you so much for finding the end of my light stick. I thought I lost it forever."

"Yeah! And you could hold it up, to show that it's in fact belonging to you. Then you could go on to say I loved our time together and I hope to see you again one day."

"Okay, maybe we should write this down before we forget."

"You're probably right! Oh, let's just talk into the voice recorder on your phone."

"Even a better idea!"

Sarah's hair was now dyed, her makeup was ready as she decided to pick a low cut black top.

"Black top?" Melissa questioned, eyeing her choice of clothes because she rarely wears that color. She didn't even know Sarah owned that shirt.

"Channie wears this color all the time, it will show him how much we are alike."

Melissa just rolled her eyes as she saw her take a selfie and another one and another one, probably over 50 to determine the best one to send to Chan.

"Okay, I like this one," Sarah said, attaching it to the message on Instagram. "And send!"

"What did you say??"

"Hi Channie, it was great talking to you at the concert and I can't believe you found the end of my lightstick. Thank you so much! I hope to hear back from you soon!"

"And what do you think will happen?"

"He'll message back, tell me he's going to fly me out to Korea." She said sounding so sure, without looking up from her phone while she changed her Instagram name and profile picture.

"You're more delusional than I thought..." She said shaking her head in disbelief.

"I am not, he wanted to find Y/n and I can be her."

"Okay, what if he does fly you out or wants to face time...he's going to know that you're not Y/n," Melissa said with her hands on her hips.

"Please, he won't catch on," Sarah waved it off as she kept checking her phone to see if he messaged back.

"This is all wrong," Melissa said shaking her head in disapproval. "You're taking this amazing opportunity away from our friend. I don't know why you don't like her, and being crazy into thinking he won't notice."

"If you don't like this, you can leave," Sarah sounding annoyed and snobbish while harshly staring at her friend.

"Fine, I will!" Melissa swiftly made her way over to the front door. She couldn't believe how crazy her friend was acting and she felt disappointed in herself. I should have stopped her from the moment she didn't order Y/n's ticket on purpose...

"If you leave," Sarah said making Melissa stop in her spot while her hand was on the doorknob. "If I get to go to Korea, you can't come with me and I won't introduce you to Lee Know!"

"I'll get over it," she said walking out the door and not looking back.

My thoughts on Green Lantern: Beware my Power

This idea came to me while my best friend forced me to watch the animated movie Green Lantern: Beware My Power. If you're wondering whether it was a horror for me to sit through that movie, the answer is yes. However, my best friend, Gabby, insisted we watch it together because, according to her, we’d both be happy since it featured John Stewart (her favorite Green Lantern) and Hal (my favorite).

Well, I ended up disliking it a lot, for many reasons. The only things I actually enjoyed were the art, the animation, and the appearances of Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, and Green Arrow.

As for the things I didn’t like—there are too many to list here, so I’ll save that for another post. But the main and most important thing is: What the hell were they thinking when they butchered the respect, admiration, and brotherhood between John and Hal?!

One of the best things about the Green Lantern comics is that all the Lanterns are friends/co-workers who act like one big family (most of the time).

Heck, even Guy, in his worst moments (and trust me, he’s had plenty), has always managed to be amicable with other Green Lanterns.

John Stewart has always admired and respected Hal Jordan, and that will never change.

In the comics, if someone badmouths Hal around John, you can bet they’ll end up getting a smack to keep Hal’s name out of their mouth.

My guy doesn’t tolerate anyone—not even freaking Batman—talking down or attacking Hal. And you think he himself would badmouth someone he’s outright called the GREATEST GREEN LANTERN OF ALL TIME?

Sorry, but if you think that would happen, let me tell you: you’re so, so wrong.

John may be a lot of things (and yes, the guy has had his fair share of messy retcons—though not as bad as Guy’s), but one thing he has always been is loyal to his loved ones, and Hal is one of them (just in case anyone wasn’t clear on that).

Honestly, I just want DC to stop making stupid decisions like this movie or the frustrating (albeit well-written) Bruce Timm animated universe. Green Lantern fans don’t need our favorites constantly being compared or put in competitions to determine who’s the best (And frankly, that’s a dumb argument because any fan who’s read a comic in their life knows or should know that Kyle is the best Lantern across the entire emotional spectrum).

Speaking of Kyle, can someone tell me why the hell they gave John almost all of Kyle’s backstory in this movie?

It was completely unnecessary to give KYLE’S STORY to John, especially when John’s story could have delved into the challenges of being an American man who served years in the military (specifically infantry), gets discharged, and decides to focus on architecture.

And let’s not even get started on how they could’ve focused on John being a rookie who trains under Kilowog and Guy, eventually meeting Hal in person, spending time together, and forming a friendship where Hal (sometimes) gives advice and trains with him. This could’ve led to parallels between John/Hal and Hal/Sinestro.

Or, better yet, they could’ve explored the dynamics between John, Guy, and Hal (because those three are so incredibly different in so many ways, it’s wild that they even get along) and how the Guardians (and the rest of the GL Corps) treat them so differently.

Hal was the first human Lantern, the one who had to prove his worth because everyone thought humans (and Earth) were inferior and unfit to serve as Lanterns. The intense bias, alien xenophobia, and pressure he endured are issues that never get addressed in comics, movies, or animated series, and it’s insane.

How did Hal feel when Guy showed up?

Did he realize Guy was a bit of a jerk but still treated better than he was when he first joined?

Did Hal care, or did he just ignore it?

Was he relieved that Guy was a complete idiot, knowing it meant he wouldn’t be overshadowed?

For a moment, did Hal think about his family and how he was projecting those feelings onto the Corps?

And when John joined?

Did Hal notice the difference between them?

Sometimes I wonder about these things, and Beware My Power opened a can of worms I thought had been sealed shut after reading Geoff Johns’ run back in 2011.

And don’t think I enjoy seeing fans compare or fight over these characters. I actually hate it (as I mentioned earlier), and I love how they support, care for, and respect each other.

But sometimes, I really just want them to explore those years before Kyle showed up, before they had the beautiful bond they have now.

Because honestly, Hal has abandonment issues that could easily be explored and expanded upon. These issues explain certain behaviors of his that you can also see reflected in his relationship with the Green Lantern Corps.

P.S. To me, Hal, John, and Guy are like brothers, which is why I picture Hal having “firstborn syndrome” when he stopped being the only human Lantern, projecting his feelings onto them for a brief period.

ryan nods and then realizes that will can't see him so he says, "ok." he changes it to a facetime without warning to will. he smiles when will accepts, "god, you are a sight for sore eyes."

will smiles and a blush forces it's way onto his cheeks. he uses the hand not holding his phone to run his fingers through his hair to try to tame his bed head. when he does that ry says, "damn. i wish she brought me with her."

"me too. i miss you too ryan. a lot. this is harder than i thought it would be. being away from you guys." will says to ryan. ryan sighs, "it's hard being away from you too. we thought we would be able to do it, since we both have each other but it's hard. and i can only imagine how you feel."

"yea, it's not easy. you should probably get going to class. i'll get this figured out with her. you need to tell coach something."

"i know. i'll figure it out. try to get him to go easy on her." he says quietly, not wanting to face coach. will nods and says, "ok. and ry?"

"yea?"

"i love you." will says with a smile. it makes ryan smile too.

"i love you too will." ryan says and hangs up.

will puts his phone done and sighs trying to figure out what the hell to do. he never thought or expected gabby to just hop a flight to san jose to see him and he does not wanna know the consequences of her missing classes and practice today. he decides to let her sleep for another hour before waking her up and figuring out what they are gonna do and how to get her back to boston.

for now, he just lets her sleep and plays with her hair until he has to wake her up.

I HATE HOW SHIPS ARE TREATED ON DCAS

Starting with the MLM ships, ALMOST EVERYONE IS INVOLVED IN A LOVE TRIANGLE, the only one who isn't involved was Jaiden, even I don't know if it counts since Aiden is also in a love triangle.

The jakextomxaiden thing was completely unnecessary, we already have a miscommunication problem with Jake and Tom, the love triangle wasn't necessary (Also, that unfinished and hasty closure they gave to jakextom... ugh)

But ok, it's okay, we can let it go. BUT THEN WE HAVE TREVEK VS KRYSTALXDEREK WHO IS ALSO A FREAKING LOVE TRIANGLE AAAAA

THE wlw ship, yeah, SHIP WITHOUT A S, is gabellie. I LOVE that they didn't ruin them as Jakextom and actually managed to solve their problems, but GOD, they time of screen time is SO low. Specifically in Piggyback that it was supposed to be their song, but NO, let's give that screen time to Tomden.

I remember people saying theorizing a love triangle between Tess, Gabby and Ellie. THANK GOD IT DIDN'T HAPPEN (NO HATE TO THE TESSGABBY, TESSELLIE OR TESSGABBYELLIE! Your ships are valid!)

Oh! Speaking of love triangles and yuri, why don't we talk about Huntessally. After S2, it was implied that the three of them were going to end up in a polyamorous relationship, but no, onc seems to be afraid of that and we only have HunterAlly. But ok, maybe they were preparing polyamory for S3

The thing that bothered me the most was that after Hunter left there were Tessally scenes, which came to nothing.

Jay- Wedding Day

Jay and I planed the wedding together for 6 months time. Of course the only thing he hasn't had input in is my wedding dress. I smooth down my dress as Natalie places my vail in my hair

"You look beautiful YN" Erin gushes

"Thank you, but so do you girls" I look at Erin through the mirror in front of me

"Ready?" Kim asks

"Yeah" I smile turning around to see her

"I'll go let your dad know" she says leaving the room. A few minutes later my dad knocks the door with his hand over his eyes

"We're all decent dad you can come in" I tell him. He takes his hand away and I can already see the tears in his eyes "don't cry because you'll make me cry"

"I'm sorry. It's just... my only child is getting married"

"Ok no smudging the makeup" Gabby my maid of honour says stopping both me and my dad from crying

"I think Jay is waiting" Kim places her hands on her hips

"Your right. Come on" dad holds his arm out for me to take.

As I wait for the doors to open to reveal Jay I start fidgeting

"Don't be nervous"

"I'm not. I'm excited" I smile at my dad. Finally the doors open and in walk Gabby and Will, my maid of honour and Jays best man. Then in walk my bridesmaids and finally me and dad. Dad walks me to Jay who's stood at the end of the aisle looks so freaking good. I notice he's got a tear running down his smiling face which cause me to cry a little. Dad gives Jay my hand then kisses my cheek before taking his seat next to my mom

"Wellcome" the priest starts "today we are here to whiteness the marriage and bond between YN and Jay. Are you prepared, as you follow the path of marriage, to love and honor each other for as long as you both shall live?"

"I do"

"I do" we both respond

"Before we start. Is there anyone here who has reason that these two should not marry?" Thankfully neither Jay or I have to be nervous about anyone standing up "since it is your intention to enter the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church" Jay and I hold hands

"I, take you , to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life" Jay says looking into my eyes. I repeat what he says

"May the Lord in his kindness strengthen the consent you have declared before the Church and graciously bring to fulfillment his blessings within you. What God has joined, let no one put asunder. May the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God who joined together our first parents in paradise, strength and bless in Christ the consent you have declared before the Church, so that what God joins together, no one may put asunder. receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the father, and the son, and the Holy Spirit. Who has the rings?" The priest asks. Will steps forward with both of our rings. Jay then takes my left hand

In the sight of God and these witnesses, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may now kiss" the room is filled with applause while Jay and I share a kiss.

It's now the after party and I've changed into something a little more comfortable so I can dance in. Jay and I had our first dance then I had the father daughter dance while Jay danced with my mom. Now I'm stood chatting with the girls

"So are you doing to tell us where your honeymoon is?" Gabby asks me as she hands me a drink

"We're going to the Bahamas for two weeks"

"I'm so jealous" Kim whines

"I'll let Kevin know to take you" I laugh

"Can I have everyone's attention" Will says in front of a microphone. I make my way over to Jay who's holding two glasses of champagne "I'd like to raise a toast to my brother and now sister in-law Jay and YN. I knew YN was the one for you Jay the moment she came to the hospital after you had the car crash. I told you that day not to let her go and for the first time you listened to my advice" we all chuckle at Will's joke "in all seriousness though, I saw the way YN looked at you and the way you looked at her. It's a love I've never seen you have before. I can't wait to see where life takes you both, and I'm really looking forward to being an uncle, hint hint" again this makes everyone laugh "thank you YN for making my brother one happy man" he raises his glass in the air "to YN and Jay"

"To YN and Jay" everyone shouts before we all take a sip of the champagne. I turn to Jay and look up at him
