and you're alone.. always alone, because you never learned how to deal with any of it, so you got angry, you lashed out, and now you don't have that outlet, you have nothing, and you avoid thinking about your problems to not fall back into anger, so you don't think at all, you don't heal, you turn all of it off and before you know it 15 years have passed and everything is still the same

i really like the way gaara's outfit changes when he shows up again after his narutotherapy. it looks like he has that ninja mesh armour covering his whole body. at least it's longer on the arms, and you can see it on his legs too. he had his ass handed to him so hard he wears it just in case now. experienced some major pain and decided he wasn't a fan.

The people who have a diary give too much importance to life. That's true. In his case, that was true. Well, it wasn't his own life he was giving importance to, but yours. He bought it shortly after your encounter. An encounter that wasn't really an encounter. Your gaze had met his. He wanted to remember it. So, he began writing.

He wrote other things after that. There was the time you smiled at him, or the time you thanked him with another smile. On days when his shyness got the best of him, he limited the content of the pages to observations. The way you would grab your friends' arms while laughing, or the way you played with your bracelet when getting ready to go up to the board, it was all detailed there.

With time, he ventured into writing letters. Love letters. Indeed, he had finally put a name to the feeling that consumed him. Love. This emotion he had only discovered through your existence. He placed words side by side, stared at them, then erased them. What to write? He didn't know. So, he wrote everything. He filled his diary with all his love.

And when he ran out of ink, it was through his words that he expressed himself. With a trembling voice, he confessed his greatest secret. With a timid gaze, he offered you his love.

Who in Naruto would stand on business and not text their ex or situationship back and who actually would

ABSOLUTELY texting their ex:

Naruto, which is canon, I think. I've little knowledge of Boruto, but I'm pretty sure he and Sasuke exchange carrier pigeons, like, all the time. Naruto would text an ex without any prompting, let alone texting them back.

Sakura has shockingly little self-esteem or respect or dignity when it comes to romance, and she's more than willing to entertain anyone interested in her who isn't a total uggo (re: Rock Lee and any other not-conventionally attractive suitor).

Deidara has no concept of boundaries or closure. He thinks he can just keep sending a stream of consciousness. If his ex ever texts him first, he's going to town on the diary entries sort of texts. He's opening his notes app and copying and pasting all the weird poetry he's been writing since the break up.

Sasuke, but ONLY if it's Naruto.

Kakashi wouldn't text an ex back, but if he got a text, he'd show up in person and just...see what happens.

Choji wouldn't know how to not text back, because he'd feel mean, given their shared history. It's anyone's guess as to whether or not he still has romantic intentions.

Rock Lee is texting back with pleasure. A splendid new friend out of the ruins of romance has emerged!

Hashirama and Madara. Just...just look at them.

Jiraiya, in hopes of a booty call coming out of it.

Tempted, but should pull through:

Ino would love to text back just for the drama, but has a healthy amount of self-respect. If there's no reason to reconcile, there's no reason for her to talk, she can sadly admit.

Hinata would, ordinarily, want to text back, but she might just get too stressed and her teammates could find her in time to rebuke the ex's efforts.

Similarly, Itachi has poetry at the ready to send through, but Kisame might just eat his phone to prevent the Young Adult Meltdown that would ensue.

Hidan, if his feeling are well and truly hurt enough, wouldn't text back. But...well, he might show up to their location and give Jashin a real good day.

Kurenai went years without Asuma showing his face, whilst he was running around defying his father, so she should be fine ignoring the siren song of an ex text. But then...

Oh, Neji has paragraphs upon paragraphs to send living right there in his notes app, but he shan't. He won't. He'll just send them rancid vibes whenever they encounter one another in public for life.

Not texting back:

Shikamaru hasn't the energy to entertain this. Things ended for a reason, and he shan't make himself miserable doing a back and forth in the aftermath. Blocked.

Kiba's sister won't let him text his exes back. She blocks them on his phone as soon as the break up happens. Kiba has no idea they tried to reach out.

Asuma has no interest in texting unless it's for a booty call.

Gaara is too afraid of his wounded pride unleashing the monster within, so he doesn't entertain highly emotional interactions like this.

Kakuzu is straight up tracing the text back to his ex and turning them in for bounty, no matter how meager it is.

Shino agonizes over it, but he prevails.

Tenten talks it over with Neji, who just beats up her ex for her instead.

Genma has deleted their number as soon as they stopped hooking up. Who dis?

o h my goodness. so, in my memory of the anime, sasuke went to the nearby village to look for itachi, but in the manga (also with the later panels, and also judged off of the one scene of the fight scene against gaara where sasuke gets up and says something like "i won't watch those i care about getting killed again"), he actually goes to look for naruto, to warn him.

he doesn't want a repeat of what had happened (e.g. his brother killing people he cares about.) all those little things i notice about sasuke having so much love for his nakama is heartbreaking, because i know it's going to change very soon.....

-- also, on a more personal note: i have decided that i can't add image descriptions to everything. i am in my offline life fighting for my survival, every day. so when it's just personal posts like this, that i do for myself as a kind of online diary, then i won't put in the effort. if it's for other cartoons, where i actively want to contribute to the fandom and add tags and all of that, i will add image descriptions. (also, i have no followers, so it's fine for the things i post without tags lol)

Dear followers, regarding your suggestion on Suna celebrating New Year's with fireworks, despite me telling you repeatedly it is not a good idea, the council decided to proceed with the idea, even though they should definitely know better considering their old age. As I feared, their memory might be collectively going downhill faster than the yesterday's catastrophic events.

When the first fun rocket burst across the sky, people simply... well, lost their shit.

As a nation we are still traumatised by the war, and as I previously attempted to explain to all of you, we fear the boom-booms. As a country created for war, it is in our blood to fear the boom-booms.

Therapists are booked full since yesterday. Nobody slept. Some kids are still missing, and few elderly people perished due to heart failures.

It was truly a great loss, and AGAIN despite me TELLING YOU SO, I shall take the blame for the fiasco which will surely be spoken about in history books.

That's my fucking legacy now. So, thanks. You assholes.

gaara was my..... third! favourite character as a kid. as in not third in a ranking but third character who i looked at & went "YEAAAAAAAAAAAH" (& temari was fourth) (first two were hinata (i still have a diary from childhood with an entry that says i had a bad day but seeing hinata on the tv made me happier) & kiba (i just know this)). nowadays i'd say he's still the top favourite, i still adore temari as well &. well. i have not yet mentioned kankuro but it's bc it took me a surprisingly long while for me to warm up to kankuro?? & i can pinpoint Exactly the thing (or two) that got me to begin fully appreciating him. so one, there was this um. kankiba artist i found once ... who i remember nothing about BUT their art of kankuro & posts about him made me realise that actually he's cool & i like him. & then like. within the next few days of finding their blog i had a dream where kankuro saved my life?? hard to not like the guy after that LMAO

so anyway aside from all this i think it's really cool that they exist & have each other. gaara starting out as an angry lonely child with siblings who probably don't really know how to approach him due to how he acts & everything surrounding him & they're Also kids who don't really know better, then growing into a much more gentle & wise guy with a functional relationship with his siblings & such a... positive? outlook on things might honestly be one of the best things kishimoto did even if it seems a little bit silly sometimes that he's so nice now but. i think it mostly seems silly bc the one instance of this being made obvious that i can think of is him being faced w sasuke & trying to reason with him. & sasuke is just so blatantly edgy to hell at that point in time it makes what gaara has to say look a bit ridiculous. but he was right! i think he was right
