i'm wirting this cause i still see dodge & fusky trying to put out dubstep in the year of our lord 2023 and it just sucks musically. like why. the 3 gen xers on facebook wont fuck you. like if they truly wanna do that fair enough i admire the determination but at this point i would have moved on personally

like you made some cool art in 2014 why not perserve it in an amber like so many have

the thing about dubstep is not that it sucks as music, it can even be pretty clever, but to me the reason it "died" is because it's a solved game. like to claim that about any genre might seem like an insult but it really isnt, because dubstep was never edgy and it's frankly rigidly mathematical. everything worth envisioning has been envisioned. saying this as one of so many children that was enthralled by it in school during the 2010s. breakcore has existed for maybe 30 years arguebly and STILL i see ideas that have not been explored. it is such a complex genre and such an interesting one i don't think we will ever complete the gestalt of breakcore, which is great. i know a lot of people say this about their favourite genres but since breakcore is so loose and adheres to minimal mathematics, none even if you permit it, you get more out of it.

Soooo i made an art. I finished it....monday? Or tuesday? Can't remember, but this past weekend should have been FanExpo Toronto, but, because the world is on fire, it was cancelled. So i had a huge sad.

I love conventions, love fanexpo, so i wanted to draw one of my favourite parts of it. Getting ready. Not being in rhe crowds, not the spending money(though i do like that lol), not posing or asking people for pics. Just a hotel room of best friends in various stages of dress.

Tango's a pro of getting into her cosplay so she's just starting now, Belle is a makeup expert so she's doing duchess's makeup. Kitty's costume is super bulky so she needs pretty much everyone out before she can get in it. Rashida and Duchess are already ready because they have something that they want to go to early. And trix miscalculated how long it would take to put on her bucky cosplay so she's waiting without the jacket on cuz that's too hot.

This is my favourite part of conventions....that and ordering pizza hut to the room on the last day...
