If I said half the things I wanted to say about Canada and Americas relationship as siblings and neighbors, how they're ACTUALLY viewed by the world when it comes to international matters that are actually important (NATO, AUKUS, global economy, AI and tech companies, hegemony etc) and how it would be more interesting to explore aspects of their relationship as well as their relationship with the world that correlates with reality rather than this made up version that dominates the fandom... commie tumbler would hunt me down and kill me

So, why do people care so much about Cornish identity? Cornwall’s just a part of England right? Another county with some distinct foods and a funny accent, and they moan about the tourists- when they should be grateful for the money.
Except it’s not.
Whilst the rest of England was forming with a character influenced by Germanic and Norse cultures, Cornwall was holding itself separate as an independent Celtic kingdom, with strong links with Wales, Ireland and Brittany- as well as trading with the wider Mediterranean. For a long time, this kingdom included parts of Devon, but eventually the Celtic people were forced back past the Tamar, and at some point started referring to the land as Kernow, rather than Dumnonia (probably).
Even after the Norman conquest, in part because Cornwall came under the control of the Duke of Brittany, Cornwall retained elements of its unique culture, and certainly its language. There are existing works of literature written in the Cornish language (also called Kernewek) during the medieval period. Due to the active tin mining industry and the Stannary courts, they even had a separate legal system.
All of this continued until the start of the Tudor period, when Henry VII, desperate for money for his wars with Scotland, suspended the operation of the Cornish Stannaries, and imposed greater taxes. This ultimately led to the Cornish Rebellion of 1497. An army of as many as 15000 rebels marched towards Somerset, and ultimately to London, where the rebels met with Henry VII’s armies. Unfortunately, the Cornish lost the ensuing battle, and the rebel leaders were captured, killed and quartered, with their quarters being displayed in Cornwall and Devon. From 1497 to 1508, Cornwall was punished with monetary penalties, impoverishing the people, and land was given to the king’s (English) allies.
However, this wasn’t the death of Cornish culture or dreams of independence from England. Until 1548, Glasney college was still producing literature in Cornish- when it was destroyed in the dissolution of the monasteries, during the English reformation. The following year, 1549, the Cornish rose again- this time to demand a prayer book in their own language, which was still the first (and often only) language of most people in the region. The rebellion was also about the ordinary people vs the landowners, as shown by their slogan “kill all the gentlemen”.
Unfortunately, this rebellion failed too, and this time, it wasn’t just the leaders who were killed, but up to 5,500 Cornishmen- which would have been a significant proportion of the adult male population at the time. These factors combined are widely thought to have contributed to the decline of the Cornish language- although it was still widely in use centuries later.
Despite the failings of these rebellions, the Cornish retained a distinct language and their own culture, folklore and festivals. Mining, farming and fishing meant that the region itself wasn’t economically impoverished, as it was today. Even towards the end of the 1700s, there were still people who spoke Cornish fluently as a first language (including Dolly Pentreath, who definitely wasn’t the last Cornish speaker).
However, over time, the tin mines became less profitable, and Cornwall’s economy started to suffer. Especially in the latter part of the 19th century, many Cornish began to emigrate, especially to places like Australia, New Zealand (or Aotearoa), Canada and South America. Cornish miners were skilled, and were able to send pay back home, and along with the Welsh, influenced culture and sport in many of these places. Many mining terms also have their roots in Cornish language and dialect.
Throughout the 20th Century, Cornwall went through an economic decline- to the point where, when the UK was an EU member, Cornwall was receiving funding intended for only the most deprived regions in Europe. It was one of very few places in the UK to receive this funding- due to the levels of poverty and lack of infrastructure.
Part of the decline was also linked to the decline of historic fish stocks, such as mackerel. In the 70s and 80s, there was a mackerel boom- and large fishing trawlers came from as far away as Scandinavia (as well as Scotland and the north of England) to fish in Cornish waters. The traditional way of fishing in Cornwall used small boats and line fishing. The local fishermen couldn’t compete, and ultimately stocks were decimated by the trawlers. Many more families had to give up their traditional way of life. One could draw parallels here with worldwide indigenous struggles over fishing rights.
Despite this, Cornish communities retained their traditional folklore and festivals, many of which are still celebrated to this day. And throughout the 20th Century, efforts were made to preserve the Cornish language. Although there may not be any first language Cornish speakers left, it is now believed that community knowledge of the language was never truly lost.
Cornwall has since become a popular tourist destination. This brings its own problems- many people want to stay in self-catering accommodation and, more recently, air bnbs. This, alongside second homes, has gutted many Cornish communities. The gap between house prices and average wages is one of the largest in the country. Land has become extremely expensive, which hurts already struggling farmers. Roads can’t cope with the level of traffic. The one (1) major hospital can’t cope with the population in the summer. All of last winter, most Cornish households faced a “hosepipe ban” due to lack of water- yet in the summer, campsites and hotels can fill their swimming pools and hot tubs for the benefit of tourists.
Does this benefit Cornwall? Only about 13% of Cornwall’s GDP comes from tourism. The jobs associated with tourism are often poorly paid and may only offer employment for part of the year. People who stay in Air BnBs may not spend that much money in the community, and the money they pay for accommodation often goes to landlords who live upcountry and aren’t Cornish. Many major hotels and caravan sites are also owned by companies that aren’t Cornish, taking money out of the local economy.
Match this with a housing crisis where it’s increasingly difficult to rent properties long term, and buying a flat or house in Cornwall is out of reach of someone on the average salary and it’s easy to see why people are having to leave communities where their family lived for generations. This damages the local culture, and means centuries-old traditions can come under threat.
All of this feeds into the current situation; it feels like middle class families from London see Cornwall as their playground, and moan about tractors on the road, or the lack of services when they visit. People talk about theme park Cornwall- a place that’s built for entertainment of outsiders, not functionality for those who live here. More widely, a lot of people around the UK have never heard of the Cornish language, or view it as something that’s “extinct” or not worth preserving.
The Cornish are one of Britain’s indigenous cultures, alongside Welsh, Gaelic, Scots, Manx and others. And it’s a culture that’s increasingly under threat economically and culturally. We’ve been clinging on to our homes for a long time, and even now it still feels like we might be forced from them (indeed some of us are). So yes, Cornish people can seem excessively defensive about our identity and our culture- but there’s good reason for it!

Excerpt from this story from EcoWatch:
A new report has found that climate lawsuits being filed against companies are on the rise all over the world, and most of them have been successful.
The report by the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) — Global trends in climate change litigation: 2024 snapshot — said that roughly 230 climate cases have been brought against trade associations and corporations since 2015, more than two-thirds of which have been filed since 2020.
“Climate litigation… has become an undeniably significant trend in how stakeholders are seeking to advance climate action and accountability,” said Andy Raine, the United Nations Environment Programme’s deputy director of law division, as The Guardian reported.
One of the fastest growing types of litigation concerns “climate washing.” According to the report, 47 of these lawsuits were filed against governments and companies last year.
The report stated that there had been “more than 140 such cases filed to date on climate washing, making this one of the most rapidly expanding areas of litigation,” a press release from LSE said.
Of the almost 140 climate-washing cases between 2016 and 2023, 77 had reached official decisions, with 54 being found in favor of the claimant.
Most climate cases that have been filed in the past have been against governments. In the United States, 15 percent of climate cases filed in 2023 were against companies, while 40 percent of cases in the rest of the world involved companies.
In 2023, more than 30 “polluter pays” lawsuits filed worldwide sought to hold corporations accountable for climate harms allegedly stemming from their production of greenhouse gas emissions.
Six “turning off the taps” lawsuits challenging the funding of activities and projects not in line with climate action were identified in the report.
The report’s analysis was based on more than 2,600 climate cases compiled by Columbia Law School’s Sabin Center for Climate Change. Approximately 70 percent of these lawsuits have been filed since the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015, with 233 having been filed in 2023.
Climate lawsuits have been brought in 55 total countries, with cases having been filed in Portugal and Panama for the first time.
The authors of the study confirmed that climate litigation has been increasing in the Global South, noting that “over 200 climate cases from these countries are recorded in the Global database, comprising around 8% of all cases.”
The U.S. had the most climate litigation cases filed last year with 129. The United Kingdom had the second highest number with 24, followed by Brazil with 10, Germany with seven and Australia with six.
The U.S. also had the most documented climate cases with a total of 1,745. Australia has had 132 overall, with just six filed in 2023.

RESIDENT EVIL → THE WESKER FAMILY
To the public, little is known of the families behind some of the world’s most renowned bioterrorists, but the question remains: did they play a role in causing their children to walk down the path that they did? Or are these individuals simply ambitious criminals with delusions of grandeur?
For Diana Wesker (née Afanasyeva), her introduction into the bioweapons black market trade was upon discovering her employers were using her research into limb regeneration with salamanders to further their experiments in creating enhanced soldiers, instead of developing human therapies with which she was recruited for. Although the prospect of using biological weapons in the military did not appeal to her, the concept remained fascinating for her own selfish endeavours. Born on the 27th of October, 1963 in Sydney, Australia to Russian immigrant parents, Diana had harsh expectations placed upon her at a young age, ones that no matter how hard she tried she could never live up to. Her mother, Tatyana, was an unfeeling woman, absent for long stretches of time with little regard to how it affected her daughters, much more concerned with her craft as an accomplished opera singer. Viktor was no better. A strict man whose role as father and ballet master blurred, he pushed his girls to one day follow in his footsteps. Whilst Sofia enjoyed ballet, and went on to become a professional ballet dancer, Diana’s heart was set on going into the field of biology. She wished to make a name for herself, separate from her family – to which she succeeded.
Diana was married to former U.S. Marine, Dave Monroe, for only a year until he was declared dead in 1992 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a horrific car accident. Foul play was ruled out while Diana played the role of the grief-stricken widow, but in reality, she had snapped after years of mistreatment at her husband’s hands, and opted for something she could pass off as an accident to be free of him. For years she believed he was dead – and he was, legally – but that proved to not be the case when he found his way back into her life again in 1999. Unbeknownst to her, she had been lied to by the police and coroner, who were paid off by her employers when they took Dave’s body for themselves and used him as one of their first test subjects in developing supersoldiers. Before he could ever hurt her again, Diana’s second husband, Albert Wesker, tracked the man down, captured him and tortured him, before allowing Diana to get her violent and bloody revenge.
The origins of Albert Wesker’s involvement in bioterrorism, alongside his twin sister, Alex, are much different than that of Diana’s. The two hail from London, Canada, but unfortunately, they hold no memories of their lives there, nor what happened to their biological parents when they were eight years old. Agents of Oswell E. Spencer, an aristocratic billionaire and eugenicist, took the twins from their home and executed their parents as per Spencer’s orders. Albert and Alex were then placed in a home funded by the Spencer Foundation where they were given new names and a privileged upbringing. They had access to the best education possible, free to pursue whichever field they decided, but it was by no accident they both went into virology and bioengineering; at home, their adoptive parents – agents whom they believed to be their real parents – instilled them with the beliefs of Oswell E. Spencer, harbouring disdain for war and pestilence, and believing humans to be an evolutionary dead-end in need of a rebirth. They were only two of the hundreds of children “adopted” as part of what is known as Project W, a plan intended to develop an advanced race of human beings. The most promising candidates were headhunted by Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, the twins amongst them, where they went on to create bioweapons for the company founded by none other than the man who had handpicked them for his plan. The final stage of this was to infect the thirteen Spencer saw fit, however, only two survived; Albert received the intended effects, now possessing superhuman abilities, however, Alex was only offered more time to live due to her terminal degenerative illness.
In the summer of 1995, Diana was working undercover within Umbrella to gather development data on their projects for her company. Here, she had a chance encounter with Albert, an intelligence officer at the time, which permanently altered the course of her life. The two were never seen far from one another’s side, marrying in 1998, and they went on to become notorious in the bioweapons industry. The development of the Uroboros virus was where things took a turn for the worst. Although Diana’s infection was successful and she bore abilities that rivalled her husband’s, the plan itself did not succeed as they had hoped, and almost cost Albert his life at the hands of his former subordinates.
Now, they work within the shadows, with Diana declared missing and Albert believed to be dead. Their legacy, however, lives on with the mark they left on the world. As visionaries in their field, they influenced bioterror attacks carried out by countless individuals and organisations. In turn, they also inspired others to fight against such atrocities. One such person happens to be Albert’s son from a former relationship, Jake Müller, whose existence he was unaware of.

The meeting was always going to be difficult given that it requires reaching decisions by consensus among nearly 200 governments, a process described by energy secretary Ed Miliband as playing “198-dimensional chess”. And in focusing on this issue of finance, the first Cop to do so, it was addressing the thorniest issue of all.
But this was made worse by incompetent leadership from fossil-fuel-rich Azerbaijan, which opened proceedings by calling oil and gas a “gift of God”. And it was bedevilled by obstructionist tactics from Saudi Arabia and weakening political will in industrialised countries, even as evidence builds that the climate crisis could be escalating out of control.
Records for soaring air and ocean temperatures, and for vanishing sea ice at both poles, are being broken by enormous margins. Last month a group of the world’s most respected climate scientists concluded that the world is “stepping into a critical and unpredictable new phase of the climate crisis”, putting it “on the brink of an irreversible climate disaster”.
It is hurtling towards permanently exceeding the internationally agreed 1.5C guardrail against catastrophe. Five tipping points that threaten to plunge the world into a more hostile climate will be triggered at that point, said the scientists – and 11 more lie beyond it.
Yet emissions continue to increase while government engagement withers. Even before Trump’s victory, EU countries had been scaling back environmental action. And Germany, France, Australia and Canada may soon elect more climate-sceptic governments too.
Britain, increasingly a climate leader, is an exception, announcing a pioneering new emissions target at Cop29, where both Miliband and Keir Starmer made a big impact. But longstanding political consensus is fracturing, with Kemi Badenoch calling herself a “net zero sceptic” even though more than three-quarters of Tory voters support a net zero target.
At Baku, as in countries around the world, the politics largely trumped the science. Take climate finance. It is authoritatively estimated that developing countries will need some $2.4tn (£1.84tn) a year. They are expected to meet nearly half of that themselves, leaving $1.3tn to come from the rich world. Most of that is expected to flow from business and “innovative sources” such as taxes on aviation and shipping, leaving a core to be provided by more prosperous country governments.
There is more disappointment over failure to endorse a landmark agreement at last year’s Cop to “transition away from fossil fuels”. After a determined Saudi bid to kill it, the final text only refers to it in a roundabout way, and the issue has effectively been shelved for a year. But Baku did agree on long-controversial rules for carbon trading that finally complete the implementation of the Paris agreement.
As in previous Cops, the most constructive developments occurred outside the formal negotiations. Britain announced £239m of new funding to help countries preserve forests. Mexico U-turned on its position as the last holdout against net zero in the G20. And Indonesia, the world’s eighth biggest CO2 polluter, unexpectedly pledged to phase out fossil-fuel power generation.
More significantly still, a coalition of more than 30 nations – including the UK and the EU – jointly promised to adopt tougher measures consistent with meeting the 1.5C target. They were inspired by a new report by the international Rhodium Group which concluded that such steps could reduce the temperature rise from the expected 2.7C to 1.4C by 2100.
This is important as, under the Paris agreement, all countries must make new commitments next year, when the coalition hopes others will follow its lead. The US was expected to join them but ducked out after Trump’s election – a sign of things to come.
The US president-elect will not shut down climate negotiations despite his intentions to leave the Paris agreement. Nor might he make much difference to US decarbonisation. Most of the Biden adminstration’s clean energy investments are in Republican-voting areas, which don’t want to lose them. And despite Trump’s pledge to “drill, baby, drill”, fossil fuel companies already have excess capacity and don’t plan to increase it. But his stance will make it harder to accelerate action that is needed to avoid disaster.
Everything depends on how the rest of the world responds, both at next year’s Cop in Brazil and in pursuing other ways of combatting climate crisis, the most effective of which would be to agree a mandatory treaty to slash emissions of methane, now seen as the fastest way to reduce global warming. If political will continues to wane, we will regret it bitterly – not just for our children, but for ourselves.

Gentle Reminder that the Boycotts are Still Happening.
Not sure if you guys have been seeing all the ads for Maccas, Apple, Subway, and all those other things lately, but I want to remind you that they are bringing old favourites back and making new exciting things because they want us to forget.
Do NOT forget. This is manipulation. This is brands trying to take our minds off our morals so they can earn more money.
The Grimace Shake is coming to Australia (I believe it’s already here) and this is 100% going to make that old Grimace Shake trend come back to Aussie tiktok. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. The boycotts are still on (they won’t ever be off. Don’t get excited to eat from Subway again.) and we still need to be following them. And please do some research before deciding you’re an exception from the boycotts. I understand that money is hard (TRUST ME, I understand) and I understand how convenient it is to go take a five minute car ride through the Hungry Jacks (or Burger King) Drive Thru. But you have to be sure you don’t have a better option first, because as people with no money to donate, we need to do all that we can.
Companies will keep funding evil as long as we let them get away with it.
I’m begging all of you to just try as hard as you can to keep standing up for your values and your morals because even when it’s difficult (and it really can be), it’s SO important.
I’m going to try and compile a list of big companies in Australia to boycott, but for now,
Keep making a difference.

Shop Update January 2024
Happy New Year! Can you believe it's 2024 already? It's been four years of running UltraInfiniteShop, and I'm looking forward to what's to come. I hope you all enjoyed your winter holidays. Let's get into the update. My Etsy shop is now open once more, and you may notice some new items:
Four new Cerberus Cherub pins
A new Astrological Putti pin for the constellation Canis
Mini Trigun pins; as well as Vash as the Hanged Man and the Fool
A new Spiderverse pin featuring Gwen
Recolors of the Gender Outlaw pin inspired by the Transgender and Genderqueer flags; as well as recolors of Decarabia
New stickers of some Angeltober 2023 designs
A restock of some 2022 Pride Angels pins
And last but not least, Angelology III leftovers!
That's all in shop update news, if that's what you came for you can stop here. But since it's a new year I figured I'd do a recap of everything UltraInfiniteShop, for anyone who is new or just wants a refresher. Read on for more!
Let's start off with introductions. Hi, I'm Ultra! If you're seeing this you probably already know who I am and what I do: I am an independent artist and pin maker living in sunny California, I make eldritch angel pins and other merch.
I run an Etsy shop as well as sell with various partners, my stockists: SJMade, BizBaz Club, Mushroomy (based on Australia) and Gamelandia Palo Alto.
You can find my designs print-on-demand on Redbubble, and digital products on Gumroad.
I collect pins as well as make them. I sell pins from my personal collection on Mercari. I have an ISO (in search of) list on Tumblr, I'm always open to sale or trade offers for these pins.
If you prefer to get news about my shop away from social media, you can subscribe to my newsletter.
You can follow me on social media on Instagram, Tumblr, TikTok, and Twitter.
I run pin campaigns to fund pin series. My last one was Angelology III. Next up in February is Angelology IV: Angels of Extinction, featuring angel pins inspired by endangered and extinct creatures. My final planned pin campaign in June is Pride Angels, featuring angel pins in various Pride flag colors.
I also self-fund pins. I try to make new designs every month. This year I am planning to make an Angelic Hierarchy pin series, as well as finish up my Astrological and Zodiac Putti pins. I have lots of fanart pins I plan to make too, including for Ghibli, Spiderverse, Better Call Saul, and Baldur's Gate 3.
If you have more questions or want more details, check out my About Page/FAQ.
You can find all these links in my Linktree.
That's not all. I've been hard at work on two new storefronts for UltraInfiniteShop, which I hope to open this year.
A storefront on Shopify, which will have cheaper prices than Etsy due to lower fees.
A storefront on Faire to sell my items wholesale to retailers across the globe.
If you got this far, thanks for reading. Enjoy the rest of your day!

COP29 NOV 11--Blue Zone
review of the notes from my first day of the UN COP29 Climate Change Conference. Disclaimer I'm just a ~silly guy~ not a policy or geopolitical expert. My observations and opinions do not reflect AC or RINGOs. This is what I witnessed, overheard, remember, and (crucially) understand, and may not be representative of final policy decisions.
I was in the Blue Zone today (official UN ground, where negotiations occur). From the RINGO meeting, rumor was the night before COP29 officially began officials were up till 4 am arguing about the agenda. Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement (mechanisms of carbon markets) was deeply contested in particular. Also arguments about unilateral and multilateral trade agreements. Also weather Global Stocktake (assessment of global progress on Paris Agreement) would be filed under general or financial sections. US/EU/Australia/smaller island nations were wanting it to be considered broader, with BASIC (Brazil, South Africa, India and China) wanting it under strictly Finance. More Paris Agreement stuff.
This resulted in the opening plenary beginning at 11 am, followed immediately by break for closed door discussions on the second item of the day, the agenda. This was a completely unprecedented delay, and the agenda was only resolved at 9pm.
This is the previous COP president Sultan Al Jaber, who did the opening address of plenary and handed over the presidency to Muhktar Babayev (photo below) with an embrace.
Notes of claims from Babayev's address to the plenary body:
We are set to break records on renewable energy and its investment.
There is a goal of low-carbon growth (as opposed to zero, which I think is an important distinction)
853 million put into the Loss and Damage fund
A call to increase climate financing ambitions. This is not charity, but in the self interest of all countries who with to mitigate the ethical and economical consequences of climate change.
A reinforcement of the call to transition away from fossil fuels (important, as last year is the first time such phrasing was used for the UNFCCC)
Emphasizing the cooperation required of everyone.
Genocide and the environment
Social justice is deeply tied into climate change efforts. Here in the Blue Zone we had a demonstration to end genocide (as relevant by its massive carbon emissions, if the human rights angle doesn't suffice), with particular emphasis on Palestine and reclaiming Indigenous lands. Demonstrations within the blue zone are allowed with permission, and can have a maximum of 20 people actively participating. Those in solidarity of the demonstration raised their fists in support. Also, this could not happen in the Green Zone (public conference) due to it being controlled by the host country, and Azerbaijan has strict laws against protests.
USAmerican election and its future climate policy
I proceeded to get rather lost trying to find a conference on USAmerican climate response to the Trump election, but got there too late because the Blue Zone is massive oof. Did catch the people coming out, and the strategy thus far is that the Biden administration's environmental policies were designed to endure regime shifts and should be difficult to undo without significant political effort. So, we'll be unfortunately testing that durability, particularly with how Trump likes to flout the rules and the Supreme Court deemed that legal.
Additionally, NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions) are due in February but the US may potentially do theirs sooner before the regime shift. Effectiveness is questionable because the accountability of countries upholding their NDCs is already kinda honor code.
Subfederal action is going to be a main proponent of climate action from here on.
Conference: Transparency for transforming the agrifood system
I...must admit I was constantly blacking out and jerking back awake during this meeting because of jet lag. So the merit of these notes may be questionable particularly bc I'm having trouble reading them. However, notes from representatives from Mongolia, Pakistan, Georgia, UN, and others.
10% of global green house gas emissions are from agriculture (Technically this was from Babayev's speech but I think it's a useful reference point for this conversation. Production, manufacturing, distribution, and waste of food produces a lot of emissions).
Data quality is of large concern for transparency and effectiveness of implementation purposes. Countries have different methodologies and argue about which is superior, and the quality of others' methods. This can be particularly of note in the carbon markets. Data collection is a large logistical and technological challenge.
Everyone wants increased transparency. Or claim to. I think, aside from technical difficulties in data collection and funding thereof, the countries would actually prefer others are transparent and less themselves to be. As evidenced by things like high levels of methane unaccounted by the summation of all countries' submitted emission reports. But that's just my opinion.
BTRs (Biennial transparency reports) are difficult, and the country representatives present were apologizing for delays.
Calls for increase of human capacity. Imma be level that seems like a vague ideal to me, but I think it might mean carrying capacity (kinda a deeply flawed concept already, sustainability is extremely difficult to ascertain without prolonged unsustainability to confirm it)
Double counting is a problem for carbon removals
Efforts to work with farmers in data collection and to better improve their methods
A claim on carbon neutral livestock farming to balance cattle methane emissions with soil carbon sequestering through grazingland ecosystem management.
Conversion of carbon sink ecosystems into farmland. From personal research: In 2019, 17% of global cropland was newly converted since 2003, and the rate of yearly conversion is accelerating.
Potentially using IPCC software for consistency in data collection and analysis
Ecocide as a tool of war
Lastly, there are country pavilions in the Blue Zone where they raise issues. I did not particularly look too much into most of them, but would like to share Ukraine's because it was amazing imo.
One, the walls are literally full of seeds, and I think it will be really cool seeing them begin to sprout by the end of the conference
Two, how destroying the environment is a concentrated effort to destroy its people. Because again, protecting the environment/climate is protecting the people.
Lastly, these solar panels damaged in the war. A large emphasis in this pavilion was rebuilding from the bombing and coming back greener, which I found particularly admirable. The bravery to forge something new while grieving the comfort of what was lost. The circumstances presenting the opportunity to reinvent their infrastructure is obviously horrendous, but seizing said opportunity nonetheless is inspiring. Renewable energy is also a way to be energy independent, which is particularly important if you’re say Ukraine and the closest major oil exporter is Russia.
Now, I had left the Blue Zone by then (needed dinner where there isn't price gouging! Yikes!) but plenary did eventually assume very late, and massive progress on Article 6 was made!
This is about Carbon Markets, some people are happy others aren't, etc. Also the agenda was implement as the original plan (GST under finance) with acknowledgements made that it was broader consideration. And now plenary can actually continue instead of being stymied! In consideration for the day of lost time, sessions will run later than usual. After today it's going to get busy!

How did Matt and Al eventually make up after 1814?
They... kind of didn't. Alfred finally got the message that Matt didn't want to share his territory and largely ignored him in favour of Western Expansion. After the British stopped funding and supporting indigenous rebellion to check the American expansion, Alfred had no more quarrels. As far as they were both concerned, they were no longer kin. Arthur had disowned Alfred. Alfred had disavowed Arthur and largely dispossessed himself of Matt too. There were two spheres now, and neither of them wanted much to do with the other, even if trade never ceased.
After the Napoleonic Wars ended in Europe, the British clamped down on the Canadian colonies. The family compact basically turned it all into a very oppressive, shitty oligarchy in both what is now Quebec and Ontario. Nova Scotia was a little better, but not much. If Arthur started paying attention to Matt, it was because he was getting increasingly mouthy and demanding more and more of him. And Arthur wasn't having it. This culminated in what is, in my opinion at least, the lowest point of Canadian-American relations. The various factions that spilled across the American border in the pro-democracy risings of 1837-1838 seeking aid were either ignored or rounded up by US cavalry and handed back to the British. The leaders were hung, and the rest were banished to Australia. It was only in the 1850s that the US started to get aggressive with Japan and was firmly established in California that things were simmering again. The Fugitive Slave Act resulted in the underground railroad that often found its end in Ontario, and the British started making overtures as things got tense again.
In my head, this was more or less Alfred ignoring Matt and Matt focusing on trying not to get himself killed for about 40 years. It's less making up and more Civil War Union Alfred going "okay, yeah hi, I might die so I'm not going to be mad when you drag me out of a corpse pile." They only started making up and talking as the Northern US and Canadian lower classes bonded and got along. They were still cool but could still talk and have a civil conversation by the late 1840s. The Civil War would really fix things between them personally if not as much nations-to-nation. There was a lot of Confederate bullshit the increasingly unpopular British-held government refused to deal with, trying to play off both sides of the US against each other. This enraged the US and many of the Canadian and British lower classes. At the same time, 60,000 Canadians volunteered, overwhelmingly for the Union. Matt prying chunks of dixie shrapnel out of Alfred's ass and holding a surgeon at gunpoint did most of the healing lmao.

The Communist International struggled to balance the needs of its European members with the members from the countries colonized by Europe. The former represented the countries of the colonizers. They had to fight in their own societies to build organizations of the working class and other allied classes at the same time as they were charged with driving an anti-colonial agenda. The Comintern’s attempt to get them to hold a Colonial Conference spluttered. It was difficult to find out what these European communists – seen as a pipeline to the colonies – were doing in terms of practical work to build alliances between workers in their countries and in the colonies. These European communists found it difficult to work amongst workers in their countries who had been dominated by a labour aristocracy that was often pro-imperialist. It was not easy to push a double agenda – for the rights of the European workers and for the workers and peasants in the colonies. No such difficulty lay in the colonies – from Indo-China to the Gold Coast of Africa. But other difficulties haunted communists in the colonies. They found it difficult to create a precise framework to work with the bourgeois nationalists who also hated colonial rule but who had no problem with capitalism. These contradictions dampened the work of the Comintern. Nonetheless, it was through the Comintern that trade unionists and revolutionary nationalists from one end of the world found out about the work of their peers on the other side. The infrastructure of global communism was created by the Comintern activists, who travelled from one end of China to the other end of Mexico to meet with socialists, anarchists, syndicalists, rebels of all kinds to urge them towards unity with the Communist movement.
Papers such as The Negro Worker allowed unionists across the continents to keep up with each other and to experience the unity that allowed them to magnify their work. The Trinidadian Marxist intellectual C.L.R. James observed the work of his Trinidadian friend George Padmore, head of the International Trade Union Committee of Negro Workers. ‘It must be remembered that men in Mombasa, in Lagos, in Fyzabad, in Port-au-Prince, in Dakar, struggling to establish a trade union or political organization, most often under illegal conditions and under heavy persecution, read and followed with exceptional concern the directives which came from the revered and trusted centre in Moscow’, James wrote. This ‘trusted centre’ was the Comintern. It provided the necessary organization to help workers from one end of the world to be in touch with others at the other end. Padmore edited The Negro Worker, which gave ‘hundreds of thousands of active Negroes and the millions whom they represented’ access to the world, wrote James. It gave them insight into ‘Communism in theory and the concrete idea of Russia as a great power, which was on the side of the oppressed’. This, James wrote even as he was critical of the USSR, ‘is what The Negro Worker gave to the sweating and struggling thousands in the West Indies, in Nigeria, in South Africa, all over the world’.
Platforms such as Internationale Arbeiterhilfe (Workers’ International Relief – IAH) emerged initially to help draw attention to the struggles inside the USSR with hunger – to enable Europeans mainly raise funds to help prevent famine. But the work of the IAH would eventually widen outwards, building solidarity campaigns from Japan to Mexico, from Argentina to Australia. The IAH worked from Germany, but turned its energy outwards towards the ‘oppressed and exploited’ peoples of the world. It enabled communists and their allies to forge connections across continents and deepened the relations of radicals within their own countries. It allowed words like ‘solidarity’ to take on a tangible meaning. This would not have been possible without the active support of Moscow.
From one end of the planet to the other, Comintern agents such as Mikhail Borodin carried instructions and methods, wondering how best to help along the revolutions. Alongside them were men and women of the colonies who came to Moscow, studied revolutionary theory and then found their way back home to build communist parties against all odds. These people led colourful lives, dangerous lives, going from factory gate to printer’s shop, from prison to exile. Their journeys were unpredictable – the Indian revolutionary M.N. Roy becomes a founder of the Mexican Communist Party, while the Chilean socialist Luis Emilio Recabarren becomes a founder of the Argentinian Communist Party. Dada Amir Haidar Khan (1900-89) leaves his remote village in Rawalpindi for the merchant marine, becomes an activist of the American Communist Party and then goes to the USSR to train at the University of the Toilers of the East, which sends him to India. Yusuf Salman Yusuf (1901-49) – known as Fahd – met a Comintern agent Piotr Vasili who helps him go to the University of the Toilers of the East, which sends him back to Iraq after a sojourn in Europe. Tan Malaka (1897-1949), who leaves the Dutch East Indies to study in Holland, returns to become a popular educator and communist, finds himself in exile and then in Moscow for the Fourth World Congress of the Comintern. Hồ Chí Minh (1890-1969), meanwhile, works on the ships and the hotels in France, the United States and on the Atlantic Ocean. He becomes a founder of the French Communist Party, goes to the USSR to study at the University of the Toilers of the East and then returns to Indo-China to lead his country to revolution. Each of them was born close to 1900 and each lead a colourful life, marked by the October Revolution which occurred in their teens. These were the people who lived along the circuits of the Comintern, for whom the USSR was a crucial node to develop their own ideas and to build their own revolutionary theories and networks.

How to Withdraw Money from Coinbase Wallet?
Are you wondering how to withdraw money from Coinbase Wallet? Coinbase, a popular cryptocurrency wallet and exchange, provides many features. One such advantage of using this service, if you reside in the US, is being able to transfer digital assets back into bank accounts easily. Simply transfer cryptocurrency from Coinbase Wallet into your bank account linked with Coinbase before exchanging this fiat currency back for cryptocurrency. This method works across a range of countries, including Australia and the UK. Coinbase's withdrawal process is easy and uses its wallet interface.
After signing into your Coinbase account, go to Wallet Dashboard/Overview and identify which cryptocurrency you would like to withdraw. Select it, and follow the on-screen instructions. Once your withdrawal request is approved, funds should arrive in your account within a few business days (depending on factors such as bank processing speed). As part of its effort to protect your accounts and avoid unauthorized transactions, additional documentation, and verification information such as photo ID or address proof may be requested from you as evidence of authenticity and protect your account further.
What Are the Cash-Out Options on Coinbase?
Coinbase provides a hosted crypto wallet service at no additional charge, giving users complete control of their private keys while being subject to custodial model restrictions. In addition, multiple withdrawal methods allow users to choose one that meets their individual needs - with these being some of your primary cash-out choices:
Bank Transfer: Bank Transfer is the go-to solution, enabling you to send fiat currencies like USD and EUR directly into your bank account. PayPal: If a digital wallet is more your style, then try PayPal instead - an excellent digital wallet alternative!
Crypto-to-Crypto transfers: When necessary, convert cryptocurrency to another currency before withdrawing it.
DebitCard Cash Out: Certain regions allow customers to withdraw directly from their debit cards.
How to Withdraw Money from Coinbase Wallet to Bank Account?
To withdraw money from Coinbase Wallet and deposit it directly into your bank account, follow these simple steps:
Transfer Funds Between Coinbase Wallet and Account:
Open the Coinbase wallet app, make sure your Coinbase Account is linked
Select the cryptocurrency of your choice to send, enter the recipient's address (your Coinbase Account address), and complete the transfer.
Once your cryptocurrency is in your Coinbase Account, click the "Buy/Sell section."
Select which cryptocurrency you would like to sell and enter its amount; once done, confirm its conversion into fiat currency.
Withdraw Fiat from Your Bank Account:
From the "Portfolio tab," choose your fiat wallet. Then, select your bank account by clicking "Withdraw."
Finally, please enter the amount to withdraw and confirm it before finalizing the transaction.
How to Withdraw Funds from Coinbase Pro?

Click "Withdraw" in the Portfolio tab, and select your fiat wallet by clicking it.
After choosing your withdrawal method (bank transfer or PayPal, for example), confirm all details by clicking "Confirm Details."
How Long Does It Take to Cash Out from Coinbase?
Cashing out from Coinbase varies based on your withdrawal method of choice and local banking systems; PayPal transfers typically occur within minutes, while cash-out times depend on how you select to withdraw your funds from Coinbase.
For instance, the bank transfers typically take 1-5 working days to complete. And instant transfer allows funds to be available quickly, but fees may be higher; please check processing time in your area since this can depend on both bank and country-specific factors.
How to Transfer Crypto from Coinbase?
To transfer Crypto from Coinbase, you need to take the steps mentioned below:
First, log into your Coinbase account using either mobile apps or websites.
Then select which cryptocurrency you would like to transfer by selecting it and providing its wallet address.
Review transaction details before finalizing them and confirm them before continuing with transactions.
Make sure to remember that network fees may apply depending on which blockchain is chosen.
What Is the Difference Between Coinbase and Coinbase Wallet?
Both Coinbase and Coinbase Wallet are custodial crypto exchanges and wallets; Coinbase will hold onto your private keys in exchange for quick digital currency purchases; this makes sense if you value security over speed, though its use might compromise control and ownership of your crypto. In contrast, Coinbase Wallet does not take custody of its crypto. Coinbase Wallet offers superior security and controls but requires assets to be transferred directly into their system before fiat withdrawals can take place.
Furthermore, its compatibility includes Web3, DeFi protocol, and NFT markets (dApps/DEFi protocols/NFT Markets/etc.), making this distinction even more apparent than between its namesake counterparts.
Coinbase: For cryptocurrency trading and investment, Coinbase serves as your custodial wallet, storing all your funds safely.
Coinbase Wallet: For non-custodial wallets, the control of private keys is crucial when dealing with cryptocurrency and decentralized applications. Incorporating such technology can provide access to decentralized applications with greater ease than using standard crypto storage options like Bitcoin.
FAQ
Can I withdraw directly from Coinbase Wallet to my bank account?
No. To do this, first transfer funds between Coinbase Wallet and Coinbase Account accounts.
Does Coinbase Have a Daily Withdrawal Limit?
Your daily withdrawal limit on Coinbase is $100,000 per day.
How secure is Coinbase Wallet when it comes to storing funds?
Its Coinbase Wallet provides high levels of security as a non-custodial service where you control the private key and recovery phase.
