I love thinking about the early days of the Sons of Garmadon, just a teenage girl, practically a baby, recruiting the biggest baddest bikers she can find, probably doing dumb shit to up her street cred, and overtime amassing a following that's so big most of her underlings have no idea who she even is, they just have a vague idea of "The Quiet One" and a general understanding that the goal is "conquer Ninjago". Honestly I'm proud of her, could never be me.

so, random little story of a thing i found while on a litte outing to the dollar store today, was checking around the books and such to see if there were any worthwhile little activity books with minifigs in em, you know the type, when i found this-

and i was like, oh neat, an old book with a dragon hunter minifig in it? nice, i dont have enough of those, so i picked it up and brought it home

but, as i was bringing it up to purchase, i was realizing, the paper package around the minifig with the sort of brick greebling background, that doesnt seem contemporary to when hunted was happening, weird…

so, i get home, i open the book and the thing with the minifig and i see the copyright date on it…

… 2024? huh? and then i turn it around and-

… this was printed no more than five months ago. with a six and half year old minifig design. what????

so, because this is so weird, i go to brickset to check and see if the prints are original ones to the sets from 2018, and, yeah, turns out they are, but also-

hey what the fuck do you mean “appears in 0 sets” ????? this specific combination of dragon hunter parts that appeared in no full sets (that colour of hat didnt appear on any other dragon hunters btw) has apparently been kicking around in some capacity since 2018, and there’s no other registered products in brickset’s system that they come from, and i am finding this out because it’s been packaged with a product released at least six years after the fact

to add additional weirdness to this, all of the colouring pages in the book are pre-movie art with the old face designs and hair pieces for the ninja, but the comic is seemingly contemporary to hunted, maybe pulled from a magazine at the time

somehow, i stumbled across a book printed in 2024, with a minifig from 2018 in it, which has colouring pages from about 2016, and just????? dawg this shit is wild idk man

Lego Ninjago movie AU where Garm (and everyone else I guess) knows that Lloyd is the Green Ninja and Garm is attacking Ninjago specifically to get Lloyd’s attention. He’s blowing up buildings trying to like stimulate Lloyd’s Oni instincts or whatever. “Come to the dark side Luh-Loyd we have sharks.” It’s a tempting offer. He gets sad if Lloyd doesn’t show up for their scheduled fighting
