Vogue Greece picked an Israeli model Sun Mizrahi to be on the cover of their “Mediterranean Touch” and their followers got really angry.

“Posting an Israeli model on your cover in the midst of current world events is an extremely tone deaf decision and it really does beg the question whether you are able to read the room” one commentator said. “This is not what Israelis look like” another one added.

This is just a radicalized and panicked whitewashing of Israel to fit an insane narrative that Israelis are all White.

The line of thought they may have been following (& which I’ve seen in coverage of the planned attack) is that because all 3 suspects are teens who were allegedly only radicalized recently, ISIS’s current recruitment strategy especially in Europe has been targeting teenagers for recruitment (2/3 of ISIS-related arrests in the 9 months since October 2023 have been teens), and one of the big wedge issues being used to radicalize people online to extremist/terror ideologies & groups like ISIS is the Israel-Palestinian conflict, there’s a significant possibility that they were radicalized over that, and thus antisemitism-under-the-guise-of-antizionism.

I don’t think it’s completely unreasonable to suggest that as a possibility (many of us have lost friends or family to radicalization over the conflict in the last year) or that it makes someone a weirdo to assume that’s the case, but unless I’m missing some context, I don’t see adequate evidence beyond the circumstantial to make the claim that the attack itself was antisemitic with any degree of certainty. It may be the case, but based on the available evidence, it seems like a reach.

Mina Musa, a 21-year-old Coptic Christian from Cairo, was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by 3 Muslims.

His entire body was mutilated and dismembered to the point of looking unrecognizable. The Islamists dumped parts of his body in a canal to send a message to other Christians: “convert to Islam or die”.

Like many Coptic Christians, Mina was in the medical field. He was attending a fake job interview set up by the Islamists who ambushed him.

Every year, hundreds of Copts are murdered in Egypt for refusing to convert to Islam. No one protests for them!

I don't think people realize the number of rockets that have been fired at Israeli civilians daily for the past year: over 23,000!

These rockets were fired from over 5 countries, sometimes simultaneously. Over 150 rockers were fired today alone, and it's only 3PM here. People die almost every day from these rockets, let alone the daily terror attacks. Western & Arabic media outlets simply don't cover most of this.

The terror of Solingen: What we should be talking about

What we see right now in Germany is how ruthless the crime is used to legitimize right-wing demands for deportations. Everyone is talking about “terrorism”. A generalization that only serves to conceal the background. The terror in Solingen has a name, a political & organizational background: ISIS, the Islamic State in Iraq & Syria.

On Friday, a man in Solingen, Germany killed 3 people with a knife at a city festival & injured 8 people, some of them seriously. The 26-year-old perpetrator, from Syria came to Germany in 2022. The public debate that was sparked after the attack in no way contributes to a realistic assessment of the underlying circumstances. While the debate talks in general terms about ‘terrorism’, it is largely overlooked that the attack in Solingen was carried out by ISIS. Turkey’s support for ISIS is also a central but largely ignored aspect.
