No one asked but “I’m scared” is such an underrated motivation for a character to do shitty things to others.

Sometimes it’s just that simple, but there’s always some deeper meaning as to why that character is scared— like the Bad Guy heavily traumatized Protagonist and now Protagonist is deathly afraid of getting on Bad Guy’s bad side again. It’s so underrated that a character is scared solely because the situation and personal consequences scare them more than the determent of others.

Maybe I’m not looking at that kinda of media that much, but sometimes I kinda just want a character to do shitty things to others because they’re scared. Like pressing the Big Red Button is gonna launch a nuke at the building they’re currently in with the Bad Guy, but if they chose not to then the whole rest of the city gets leveled by the Bad Guy’s evil death laser of doom— and then they chose not to press the button because they’re just frankly scared of dying. They entered this fight hoping to walk away, and now between the choice to save themselves or save others they indirectly kill everyone they knew because they were just to scared to pull the trigger on themselves.

So yeah maybe make characters be cowards a little more often?

I’m finally watching The 100 ~yes it’s a bit late I know but when Clexa was a thing I still thought I was straight so I kinda didn’t care about them. But a few weeks ago I was talking to a friend and she said I should watch it cause it’s part of the “sapphic culture” .. 😅

I have to admit overall the show is way better than I thought it would be but today I watched the episode that Lexa died. GOD IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING. Of course I knew she would die but the way they decided to kill her was so stupid. A stray bullet?! Really?!? I thought she was going to die in battle or something!!! Lexa had so much potential and she’s more interesting than like 90% of the characters! And I love her relationship with Clarke. It made me so upset that they didn’t have more scenes together.. Did they really killed her just for shock value? Is that one of the reasons why people were so mad when it happened?

Pondering a new rancher au (yes the giant fucking bird is Jimmy) - rambling/explanation under the cut

Ok rambling time!

So it’s set in a that was similar to the modern day, but after in a post-apocalyptic world (recent enough that they both would’ve known the world before). Not a zombie apocalypse or anything, though. There may be Foes but probably not.

I’m not exactly sure what the apocalypse that happened actually is yet, but it’s left the world an ash-covered wasteland with few ruins and even fewer survivors (survivors being organisms in general, not just humans). I want the landscape to be kind of surreal and bizarre, but I haven’t decided if that’s because of the apocalypse or not. Maybe it was just Like That lol.

Anyway, one thing you may want to know more about, is why the hell is Jimmy a giant bird? And the answer is: I like giant birds. In all seriousness though, he’s cursed! Don’t know why. He was a normal ass dude. Now he’s a bird.

Tango might also be cursed? Depends on how edgy I end up wanting this to be lol. He might be an undead wraith or something who knows.

In episode one, Otto comes to talk to Aemond specifically - SPECIFICALLY - about him and Criston plotting and planning attacks behind their back - without THE KING and Hand. And Aemond is just rolling his eyes at it.

Aegon is thrust into the position of power and coasting on new vibes, yes, BUT a continued issue he’s running into is that his Authority is being undermined PUBLICLY. Aegon is sitting court in episode one with NO INFORMATION on what’s going on/what’s happening. Nothing about tithes, nothing about what’s being done. He’s left to look the fool because ALICENT AND OTTO ARE TRYING TO GET HIM DISINTERESTED FASTER.

But Aegon doesn’t want to be disinterested. He WANTS to do what he can and NO ONE IS FUCKING HELPING OR SUPPORTING HIM! They’re treating him like a nuisance! Like a child playing dress up instead of taking him patiently in hand and guiding him through and INCLUDING HIM!

Aegon: yoooo what’s up here Aemond?

Aemond: yeah this is what we need to do Criston’s got it, we’re taking Rook’s Rest and that’s all YOU need to know.

You know what? Maybe if you fucking told Aegon what your plan was, he wouldn’t have rolled in to inadvertently RUIN IT because HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT THE FUCK WAS GOING ON.

Meet Bunny! She’s a 2020 Subaru BRZ Limited. I’ve wanted a BRZ for the longest time and the stars just aligned with this one. She’s low mileage, 1 owner, no accidents, has the performance package (brembos hehe) and the previous owner even put an exhaust on and lowered her. This was definitely the owner’s baby judging by the condition…now she’s mine 🥹

She’s also my first manual car…🤭 and what a great car to learn on as well. The clutch feels great and I’m definitely starting to get a hang of it! Initial D (especially Takeshi hehe) really reignited my passion for cars and wanting to learn how to drive stick. How could you not after watching Initial D? They made it look so damn cool! And you best believe she’s gonna have a NightKids sticker on her in the future lol! I also think it’s really cute that I have the opposite color of Takeshi’s car :3

People who never watched the show beyond volume three but also somehow watched the first three volumes with their eyes and ears closed will never not kill me bc they inflate Jaune to be this evil awful screen time stealing character.

He’s part of the show. He had a purpose in the show. He has an arc in the show. You can hate him. You can dislike the writing choices. What you can’t do is use old arguments that do not hold up.

Jaune Arc is the realistic version of the bland male anime protagonist who becomes super cool and good at everything just by showing up. Jaune forged his papers. Jaune wanted to be the hero without having put in any of the work. He was years behind his classmates and guess what happened? He got multiple ass beatings. He failed. Because in real life you don’t just show up and suddenly become good. He has to work for it.

Pyrrha died because she entered a battle she couldn’t win. Jaune was upset by this because his partner and too late to act could’ve been love interest was much stronger than him but wasn’t stronger than Cinder. And Pyrrha knew. She could’ve escaped with him. But she didn’t. She died NOT to make Jaune sad, but because she felt that she had to fight. She was their choice for the maiden. She had to fight.

As for Penny. It was once again her choice. His power is literally to boost aura which helps speed up healing. Penny didn’t want him to. Penny chose to sacrifice herself and that fucking sucks but it wasn’t to make Jaune sad. She made her own choice. And MIND YOU she had asked Ruby to kill her FIRST. Jaune’s inability to save people is not Emo Fuel it’s the TRAGIC THEME OF HIS CHARACTER go listen to Quiet

Also the idea he has taken over the narrative is insane because if he had? PEOPLE WOULD UNDERSTAND HIS CHARACTER. instead we have people who are using him as a Chad doll alpha freak getting lesbians OR he’s still the guy who wouldn’t leave Weiss alone. Which ENDED AFTER DANCE DANCE INFILTRATION MIND YOU.

Anyway. As a fan of Jaune for who he actually is, which is the bland male protagonist trope pushed into a role he cannot fill because he had not yet put in the work, bad awful no literary processing power takes make me ill. The only thing worse or the no good faith idiotic takes about the main girls because at least with Jaune he was actually annoying at first. The Takes about the girls and especially Yang are hot flaming garbage based on A Single Line, Her Boobs, or their own projections onto her character
