omg I don't know if you're still doing headcanons but could you PLEASE do some for ftm mick and the band's reactions to finding out I wonder if mick would be up front or hide it

hey anon, sorry for the late reply!! just woke up and immediately had to start writing this! also don’t worry, i’ll do headcanons as long as ppl send them in tbh! i like doing them since they kinda help when i’m all dry writing wise. no one really sends them in anymore so I just keep doing what I was doing before hand. but if anyone sends them in, i’ll do them cause it’s fun. and i’m surprised this isn’t more common in this fandom (gender swap is more common here tbh). it definitely is in other fandoms i’ve been in. i haven’t ever done something like this before, so i hope i do this justice!!

ok, anyways here’s: ftm mick telling the boys he’s trans:

- mick would totally hide the fact that he’s ftm like… hardcore. if he’s fully transitioned i think he wouldn’t feel the need to tell anyone. he doesn’t ever get misgendered so what’s the point in outing himself? though, if he wasn’t fully transitioned, it would be even more important for him to hide it. he never knows who’s going to be accepting and who’ll immediately start discriminating and misgendering him. so, if he has to deliberately lower his voice, wear a binder, and layer clothes just to make sure no one suspects anything, he’ll do it.

- the rest of the band are clueless. micks just one of the guys. the moment mick picks up his guitar at his audition and starts wailing, they know he’s the right guy. they are a bit put off by micks dismissive and aloof demeanour. mick doesn’t hang out with the guys like they want him too. he’s just constantly anxious that they’ll find out and kick him out of the band. he doesn’t want himself to get too close to him, cause he doesn’t know how they feel about trans people. it would probably be too confusing for them. he didn’t work as hard as he did to get into a solid band just to get kicked out of it for being trans.

- everyone else can notice micks aversion to being a part of the group. he leaves after every band practice and cowers away whenever anyone tries to put their arm around his shoulder. tommy, the golden retriever of the group still can’t manage to get even a hug out of mick. they write it off as mick just not being as affectionate as they all are. they also wonder why he wears full black outfits on in the middle of the scorching hot summer. mick is never not without a leather jacket, a black shirt, leather pants and heels. none of them have ever seen him without the leather jacket, but they all just think it’s a weird quirk of his.

- it would take a good while for them to even find out. first its nikki. he decides to surprise visit mick at his home one day. nikki’s used to just walking into everyone’s home, he’d done it to tommy way too many times to count. he’d never really done so to mick, so after two months of being in the band together, he decides it’s time to initiate mick into his weird habit. of course it’s under the guise of wanting to get to know him better. in the two months since the bands inception, nikki feels he barely knows mick. the guy is so mysterious, nikki doesn’t know much about him besides his name.

- mick is caught off guard by nikki’s presence. he’s only in a large t-shirt and boxers. he never wears his binder when he’s just at home, so he’s not wearing anything underneath his shirt. and sure, his chest is already pretty small… but it’s still noticeable enough for nikki to stop and stare. mick ushers him in and makes him promise not to tell anyone.

- mick pretty much tells nikki everything. he has no choice but to, nikki had seen enough. and mick is so nervous his hands are shaking. he feels this is the end. another wasted search for the perfect band. after he’s done telling nikki his story, he looks down and tells nikki he’s fine with whatever nikki wants to do after this. nikki furrows his eyebrows and asks him what he means. mick pretty much has to tell him he’s fine with being fired. nikki looks even more confused.

- “why would i fire you?” he asks. mick can only sigh. “because i’m… you know.”

- nikki chuckles to himself and shakes his head.

“you know i don’t give a fuck about what’s going on down there, right? you sound like a guy, look like a guy… that’s all that matters. you play like a fucking wizard, i couldn’t care if you were secretly a russian spy, i know what this band needs… and that’s you.”

- mick can only blush and thank him quietly. nikki was the first person to actually understand him and hear him out, so it was like a breath of fresh air to know this guy wasn’t going to judge him, or kick him out of the band. and it’s because of nikki that he becomes ok with telling the other guys about it as well.

- luckily tommy and vince also take the news very well. tommy would be extremely curious about the whole thing, and constantly asks mick questions about it. things from why exactly he started the whole transition to possible surgeries in the future. vince… he’s definitely not discriminating against anyone, but he does make the habit of jokingly asking mick out (to which mick has to remind vince he isn’t gay… well both of them aren’t at least!)

- the guys carry on as normal. of course there are times where the guys get a bit too overprotective of mick, and he has to remind them to cool it. but they are extremely helpful most of the times, they even take turns helping to care for mick when he’s on the rag. they aren’t experts in that area at all (no matter how much chicks they bang, they are still very clueless about the reproductive system). and they are a thousand percent there all the way when mick finally does decide to fully transition.

- i’d like to think they’d help him with his testosterone shots (vince would be squeamish about the whole thing), maybe help him after major surgeries (with tommy asking every question under the book about it), and just help him adjust after the whole thing. that’s when mick realizes he’s found the best group of people to start a band with. not only were they a band, but they firmly moved on to the whole “found family” thing, and for once mick doesn’t hate that.

ok i think this is all i have now. i hope none of this comes off as weird or like disrespectful. i will admit i’ve never felt the plights of trans ppl so if this is inaccurate or just weird, i apologize from now. i tried with this one but ofc there might be inaccuracies or just might not convey the trans experience correctly. i hope it isn’t that bad though! thanks for sending this in!! and, i hope you enjoy this either way!! <333
