Someone needs to invent an indoor faucet that, at the push of a button (or something), leaks enough water to stop the house's pipes from freezing.

(Personally I have problems getting just the right amount of water flow to stop the pipes from freezing. And when I get it just right, a bit later the faucet has stopped dripping as much as I set it to.)

Really?!?!

We moved to Delaware from PA in 2020. One of the very first things we noticed is that is never really gets as cold here as it does in PA. Winters in DE are mild with no snow. In PA, it wasn't uncommon to have temps in the single digits and windchills below 0.

Our new home uses propane for heat. When we moved in, we didn't even think about having to get the tank filled, since it was still in the 60s here at night. Boy, we were wrong.

Last night's temp sank to 33. There were frost warnings, and the house got cold. Even I was cold which almost never happens. @helly-watermelonsmellinfellon froze her arse off on the floor.

The problem? We don't have the money to fill the propane tank. It's 124 lb tank at $2.27 per gallon. The landlord stressed to Dave last week that we need to get the heat going because the pipes may burst if we don't. Apparently, the last people that lived here destroyed the place and never had heat, so all the pipes burst.

The propane company will not bills us. They want to money at the time of delivery. Neither myself nor Dave have good enough credit. So, we're screwed again.

We could use some help. Tonight's temp is going to be below freezing. We need to get the propane asap.

We all know that Will's prone to freezing and fleeing as opposed to fighting (who can blame him) and this is consistently not an issue. In fact, the two only times he didn't run he was taken/taken over by an eldritch monster. That's like. The worst thing that could possibly happen. The characters talk about how he's good at running and he's great at hiding and this is all purely GOOD. Nobody faults him for this and truly, nobody seems to even notice.

We open in on st4 and we can see Will is struggling with El being bullied, in the way that he can't help and it's crushing him. Nobody else notices, nobody cares. He has a problem with this. It's negative to him. And so, narratively, he has to overcome it. He feels guilty and powerless and weak and he's going to have his st5 moment. He will help her.

#a lot of the ga was irritated by the fact that he couldnt help her #and point blank period if it wasnt important we wouldntve seen it #if theres no payoff there wouldnt be setup #which is why when he gets vecna'd its going to be about his guilt over never helping el and prob heavily focusing on bullies #(including lonnie)#theres actually a scene in s3 i could draw back to rn #when billy makes will and mike watch him choke her. and mike hits him over the head with a pipe while will stays frozen w fear? yeah #I AM ALL OVER THIS ONE #like henry has her held and taunts her or smthn and wills like 'not so fast'#this IS a will has powers post but ig TECHNICALLY it doesnt matter #will has powers #will gets vecna'd #byler #will byers #stranger things #byeler #willel #i could go in further on how this is the only season where running and hiding is demonized #haha get it cause eddie #wills own feelings on his own habit of running away rubbing off onto the rest of the show? idk man why are u asking me

#i’ve been working through some stuff in my head #and I’ve realised that so much of my life I’ve occupied the spaces in-between #like I acheived certain things in my life because I was literally the only one who stepped up #but it was also like. I wasn’t the first choice for something I was always just what was available #or I tried to carve out something for myself and it ended up either being taken away from me or getting ruined somehow #like when I was in the pipe band I became drum major because I was literally the only drummer (not that anyone really liked me…#i was just. the only choice there was until someone else came along).#or when I moved up the ladder at the tutoring service it was during Covid and I had to work so much harder because #we just didn’t have a full team.#or when I had to do my undergraduate thesis by myself because also covid #and now having to do my research project basically 100% by myself because my advisor ‘‘can’t’’ advise me #(except he can apparently write me some exam questions next semester)#idk I just feel like the extra frozen water on the side of the ice cube tray of life #and now I’m in Canada and I’m trying to make a place for myself #I want this to work out. I want to be able to solidify the life that I want without having to live on the fucking edge #I’m tired of staying in my ‘lane’ when my ‘lane’ has always been ‘standing on the side to let others pass’#Listen up queers I am allowed to take up space and I am occupying this part of the lane #if you don’t like it then you can make your own fucking lane #I’m just trying to make a life in this ridiculous precarious world I don’t want to have to play it safe anymore #I want to get into a PhD programme and study what I want to study #I want to meet someone I can trust with myself when I’m fragile and someone who trusts me with themself when they’re fragile #I want to live in a house I don’t have to worry about losing and make enough money to live comfortably #I want to stop merely surviving and start *living*#and I’m going to do everything in my power to achieve that

Watched Spirited Away again last night and now I’m thinking about an au where Bullfrog is an assassin to Yababa and Lunar is a witch to a Moon based deity and is accompanying them to the bathhouse.

They pass each other in the bathhouse and just share THAT look. The one that’s always done so well in love stories of old.
