Hey, I'm that one anon from a few weeks back who was pretty skeptical about rats 2, so i thought it would be nice to come back and share how is it going

So first of all, the negatives. Yesterday was the 1st big event of the season and I did not enjoy it too much. The story itself was okay i guess, typical halloween ghost story, but it had the minecraft server - typical problem of some people speaking way too loud and over others. I was watching from Martyn's pov and he had to mute everyone twice bc of the overstimulation, and spent lots of the event in his own or in small groups

Apart from that, honestly pretty happy with the smp? It has returned to the communal vibes of rats 1 instead of dividing everyone im groups, which is great bc it s almost imposible to log in and not meet everyone else who is logged in at the moment. That was one of pirates s worst sins imo. Also, it has small missions for the players to do, which are not that interesting tbh, but they don t take far as much time as the ones in pirates which enable the players to mostly hang out and vibe. Also the whole running away from humans is a very fun premise. The whole concept of the smp is honestly just a reprise of rats 1, which brings the question of if it is really necessary, but by now it s being fun sooo i guess it gets a pass (by now)

The environment is very chaotic, but apart from the event it doesn t usually feel like too much. The one problem is that it distracts the players from actually building lol. Talking about building, they have had lots of technical issues with the chisel and bits mod, so they have changed tl another mod which seems tl be working better, although now the players have to relearn how to build in that size. But ngl, some of them are going crazy with the building, Sniff, Eloise, Scott, Sausage and Ros mainly are CRAZY

About the players, I am only following closely a handful of them, but it s generally being a blast. Having them roleplay as rats is just silly and brings good vibes and bits. My one hot take is that although I think he's a very talented builder, I find Sausage kind of annoying in smps, and also one of the loudest during events, but that's probably a me thing. Apart from him, Tubbo and Ros have done a cult and it's delightful to watch, the Martyn and Ren duo is super fun as expected, Oli is once again the funniest fucker alive, El and Bek are amazing. A creator I didn t know too well until now is Watermunch and she's great, his laugh especially gives me seratonin

So yeah, not everything is great or super interesting but it's fun and chaotic and as much as I bash in pirates, Ros and Water were great aditions to the cast so I am glad it exists. But pleeeease someone tell them to keep calm during moments with lots of people, it's uncomfy for the watchers, some ccs get overwhelmed and others can barely speak. Another problem I ve seen is that a portion of Tubbo s chat keep metagaming, which is annoying af, but whatever ig

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! I definitely have heard good things about treebark rats (I do think renrat having a wife is the one of. maybe the funniest things to come out of SMPs good god martyn im so. im so sorry martyn) and even though i wasn't a fan of the original i did have fun watching garbage rat clips. That impromptu music number he did with the camera angle changes is like. genuinely high art to me.

also good on martyn for knowing his limits. I can imagine it's a rough choice to make in the moment what with the pressure to perform and whatnot.

you’re making me procrastinate my x life oli drawing but that’s ok he’s the king of procrastination it’s what he would’ve wanted

so. *insane person voice* from my limited empires season 2 knowledge i’ve decided that server is what happens when multiple separate timelines are all forced together. (crickets)

“sage. what the fuck are you on about” well i’ll tell ya. so. the entire premise of c!oli is that he is the Same Fucking Guy no matter what server he’s in- most of the time- and that he just keeps getting isekaid into different dimensions like the freak that he is.

so in afterlife, he returned to an Empty Server that was supposed to be shut down by fucking God or something idk. but they can’t shut it down while there’s still a living breathing player there. aka oli. so when oli reached his final life and went to heaven ig they were like Fucking Finally please get that guy out of here. so pearls like yeah ok ^_^ you can stay here and oli said fuck that so she said fuck you and kicked him out. but he can’t go back to afterlife cause that’s not a thing anymore so he just ended up in the middle of fucking nowhere and was like guess this is my life now. and that effectively Broke the Motherfucking World (good job king)

so oli fucked around, found out, and accidentally banished himself to limbo for a long fucking time but that’s not relevant right now. so the world in the meantime was like Ok we got that guy out of here let’s try and fix the very essence of space time or whatever. but then it Didn’t which resulted in roughly 13 different timelines all converging in one place, which is why all the emperors are such different species and from such different backgrounds (joel being an Actual God, lizzie being from somewhere where anthro animals are a normal thing, whatever the fuck falses deal was, etc)

after that all happened the World was like oh shit. we fucked that up. i guess that’s enough time in The Void for oli so they let him out and that’s how he ended up in a world full of multiple alternate universe versions of his friends and also falsesymmetry

that being said, the world is a broken story that wants to at the very least be a slightly fixed story with an ending. so it keeps trying to fix itself, however it is Massively Fucked and instead the Rift happens, which was also slightly olis fault cause again, he broke the world

so then enters hermitcraft, which is also a world full of colliding timelines but 100x more stable if you don’t count the apocalypse. and that happens but it wasn’t supposed to and like i said the world just wants to fix itself so eventually the rift closes and all the hermits go home 👍

things are fairly calm after that, and tbh the esmp2 ending was kinda mid imo but i do have some very canon divergent ideas about what happened when Oli “broke the world” Orionsound goes BACK THROUGH WHATS LEFT OF THE RIFT and ends up somewhere else but this has already gotten too long so. there’s that

AOTV Thoughts

Some thoughts on “All Of Those Voices” after last night’s screening. TLDR - I remain very fond of Louis , but I did not think this was a good documentary. I’m a new pandemic-era fan and just a lurker so no one will see this - it’s just to get thoughts out of my system (harhar).

My overall impression leaving the theatre was that the film was cliche, disjointed, and unsettlingly superficial considering the seriousness of the topics it tried to address. It had moments of charm - Oli was an unexpected highlight - but they felt like little treats. It didn’t say or do anything new for serious fans, just recycled narratives and footage we have mostly seen before. And because of the disjointedness, I think the general public would find it confusing. I don’t understand the audience, purpose, or timing for the release.

Performance Footage

The thing I found most confusing was the relative absence of great performance footage. Giving the timing of the doc’s release, I’d thought it was going to be a vehicle to sell concert tickets. But there’s actually relatively little footage of Louis singing for more than a few seconds at a time. And the hero moments that stuck out most, at least to me, were Little Black Dress and Night Changes (which is a bit ironic given the focus on him finding his solo voice), and COACOAC.

I assume this has something to do with Louis’ changing feelings about Walls, and the fact that he doesn’t really feel like it represents him as well as FITF, as he’s expressed in interviews. It’s disappointing, since that’s what I was looking forward to most! I thought they’d filmed the shows for the FITF release, but none of that made the movie either. :( Honestly, the IG reels throughout tour did a better job of making me want to go to a show.

Louis As Songwriter

I loved the moment where Louis talked about being proud of his 1D songwriting credits, but unfortunately that idea didn’t carry through to the rest of the movie.

Nothing about the process of writing Walls, which is maybe because his old narrative no longer works. But surprisingly very little about the writing of FITF either. No FITF songs mentioned by name other than BTM, which was only in a text overlay. Nothing about what the songs or the album mean to him, or even about the creative and collaborative process aside from when it was written logistically. He doesn’t even say “Faith In The Future” until the end credits, I think?

We got so much more on Louis as a songwriter in the album promo interviews - the doc is still very heavily focused on his anxiety around vocal performance, esp. with all the Helene. Which is interesting, of course, just a bit jarring given what he says about writing for 1D and what we’ve heard him say elsewhere.

On Loss and Grief

I have an enormous amount of empathy for what Louis and his family have gone through, and I truly admire his resilience. I found the deep love Louis has for his family and this part of his story moving, of course, but I also found it somewhat disconnected. Resilience is a useful trait, and moving on is healthy, but the impression from the movie is that that just happened by sheer force of will. And maybe it did, that seems very British! But I would have liked to have seen more about how Louis processed his grief, the support he received from people around him, whether it affected his songwriting and approach to his career. Structurally, lumping together the 1D breakup, deaths in his family and COVID as a series of obstacles to be overcome through perseverance alone just felt like it was a likely oversimplification.

On COVID

Again, this too felt like an obstacle identified and then not followed up with. I was really surprised that there wasn’t later discussion by Louis, the band or the fans interviewed that part of the magic of tour was being able to come together in-person again after lockdowns. This was certainly part of the joy for me as I watched lives all tour (my local show was maybe the only one that got cancelled and stayed cancelled.)

Fan Representation

This was very much my academic area in another life, so I could go for ages. But in short, I did appreciate that this was a much more positive representation of female-dominated fandom than we normally see. It was respectful and it celebrated fans and mostly took them seriously.

But it had a pretty narrow focus on a certain type of fan. Given the things Louis has said about his relationship with his fans elsewhere, I expected a deeper and more diverse look. I would have liked to hear from fans about what Louis’ music means to them, about growing up alongside him, about fan projects and communities and the experience of live music after years locked away. Instead it was just camping and getting as close to him as possible. (Props to the fan who wrote the essay to convince their mom to let them camp though - I used to use the same tactic!)

I get that it would be a lot of work to take a really deep look at fandom - and it would be tough to dodge the beautiful rainbow elephant in the room - but I think it was possible to do a bit more. Even just along the lines of what Louis often says in interviews.

Fatherhood

I’m agnostic about BBG. But even setting that aside, I was uncomfortable with this particular narrative thread. My own issues are obviously part of that - I was raised almost entirely by my mom, with an absent father who complained about not seeing enough of me and my siblings but showed no inclination towards actual parenting. It is very easy to seem like a good father flying a kite on a beach or goofing around backstage at your concert. It is much harder to actually do the work of raising a child.

The way the fatherhood narrative popped out of nowhere - you would think the child just materialized from thin air the way it’s framed - was very uncomfortable. The way the sharp contrast to the closeness Louis described with his mother who had an unplanned baby (and perhaps similar distance with his biological dad) went unacknowledged. The way he claims to see his child at every opportunity, but the second half of the film focuses on him having a blast travelling the world on a tour bus and makes zero reference to that being challenging from a parenting perspective. The overall impression is just the total absence of responsibility, like children are fun accessories to help you feel good about yourself at 1/80 concerts.

There were lots of “aww”s at my screening, and I guess those folks just don’t have daddy issues? I can’t speak to Louis’ actual reality as a father (or lack thereof), but the way it was presented in the movie, at least, was such cheesy “rich, absent dad who doesn’t get it” cliche. It felt like a weird choice for someone who has said he wants to be so private.

The Voiceover

This is a very specific thing, but I really didn’t like the explanatory narrative Louis did throughout the whole thing, filmed in the studio. It felt scripted and impersonal and all at the same emotional level. I would have preferred if there had been multiple interviews over the course of the years they were filming, for some variety and progression over time. It really sucked a lot of the emotion and vulnerability out of things.

What Might’ve Been

The frustrating thing about all this is there are like, four different and very good possible documentaries within AOTV. But it feels like instead of doing any one thing properly, they tried to do everything and in a rush.

It could have been a beautiful film about his personal losses and how he’s recovered and grown from them, but it would have had to show more of that process.

It could have been a really fun tour documentary - the backstage stuff with the band was a highlight, but it would have had to included way more performance footage.

It could have been a cool narrative about the buildup to FITF but would have needed to include more of his songwriting process, what the songs mean, and the album release shows.

It could have been about his relationship with fans, but would have required more extensive and thoughtful interviews, with a more diverse group.

Instead, it tried to do all those things, but each at a surface level, and ended up unsatisfying and confusing. It felt like they didn’t have a plan going in, and sort of just scrambled stuff together as best they could with the footage they had. Which I think is a real shame because Louis deserves the chance to tell his story. I just don’t think this documentary did that effectively.

Why did this happen? Maybe it was his changing relationship to Walls and the awkwardness of overlapping albums. Maybe it was scheduling and deadlines and COVID. Maybe he can’t tell his full story and there’s just no way to disguise that without it feeling awkward. Maybe Louis just doesn’t understand his own fanbase very well, or he’s trying to change that fanbase. Maybe it’s just bad story structure. Whatever the reason, it’s a big missed opportunity and I am sad.

So the Putin thing was posted within minutes of each other so I just thought C had control of the IG account again.

We don’t know what’s going through people’s minds but Aisha was on vacation recently. Angela is in Paris for Fashion Week and walking the runway. We haven’t heard from Kenny in a hot minute and Jen always posts mom things or holiday things. Also Angela’s hubby is on the negotiating committee for SAG-AFTRA.

Oli of course is collecting dogs. So why are we tearing Ryan down? The Putin thing is just ugh but C shared it too and I thought of she did that.

R posts artistic reels and things to his IG. His stories can be petty which is funny to me. I went more homeopathic myself. Some people will agree with that.

I cannot wait til they all go back to work. Seriously.

Oli and Alissa’s relationship is interesting but the other anon isn’t entirely wrong. You can find articles and interviews about Oli talking about their relationship early on. She was also on Tumblr prior (not the blog she currently has but a different one in which her was kinda “Tunblr famous” on) and many fans (me included) followed her on IG prior to her being with Oli. She didn’t enjoy modeling and was living in Brazil prior to going to Europe for work in which she ended up modeling for Drop Dead (Oli’s company). He convinced her to quit modeling and she moved in with him. Oli himself has said that in a print interview. You can google and find it i’m sure. It was around the Amo era that he talked about it. Others have talked about and argued about the dates but regardless she was super young when they met and he wasn’t exactly divorced when they started dating but that isn’t a surprised since he cheated on Amanda with Hannah who was were friend prior so pretty much just what he does imo. She was young and impressionable for sure based on how she herself would describe their relationship at the time but doesn’t mean it wasn’t consensual. His actions and words can still be questionable while still also being consensual. 🤷‍♀️ Also the moving to Brazil and buying a home that you mentioned, that happened all after they got married. When they dated he did only visit her in Brazil which the way he talked about it back then was LOL. Very white european man seeing people with no money and being like “wow i’m changed”. 😂 Oli also talked about in another print interview when talking about his divorce which ended because he was abusive and his ex wife cheated on him, that when he began dating Alissa he didn’t like her being friendly with other men including being jealous of her manager who was a male. Which is a “red flag” certainly. I believe that was was an interview with The Independent also around the Amo era. You can also check the BMTH subreddit and people have discussed the many red flags of their relationship. Including an IG account he had with her early on that was called Heavy Petting. Which the name itself is interesting considering how young she was and how he was nearly 30 years old then like others have pointed out. Amanda Hendrick who is his other ex also called him out for being abusive to her in many ways. She mad a whole youtube video about it back in n the day that she took down after BMTH fans went after their. You can google her and Oli and you can find forums on other sites from years back discussing in realtime the allegations she made against her. But TW: emotional, verbal, physical abuse. And of course Hannah (his ex-wife) allegations of him spiting on her and hitting her. You can find the videos re-uploaded of her IG stories talking about it.

I will admit reluctantly that I do love BMTH’s music but Oli himself more than problematic imo. It’s weird that anyone feels the need to rationalize the things he has done. Not saying you did but I have seen so many BMTH fans say “well she cheated” when talking about him abusing his ex-wife as if she is therefore deserving of it because she cheated. That is typically the attitude BMTH tend to have when talking about any of his past since people are talking about why people pick and choose who to be mad about.

So Louis can’t post pics of his friends and him just enjoying their time together at a festival now according to an earlier anon? I’m sorry but that’s ridiculous. Besides if there was a woman in that group other than Lottie people would create another story of how he’s with a stunt. People got upset by a Like on IG of his just yesterday, you don’t think that people’s minds would jump to a conclusion that he’s stunting by having a woman there in his group? Be real. He rarely gets to see his friends from his childhood anymore, except for oli because he’s always on tour. Let him live. Let him have fun with the people who have been in his life for years. It didn’t set any sort of hetero narrative (he was with all men, except Lottie), kinda sets the opposite hetero image.

Also one of those pics Louis posted was him shooting pool in a tent dedicated to the queer community. The festival did a whole article on that area and it was specifically mentioned in the article it was dedicated to the lgbtq+ community.

I have to wonder if some people actually have friends because this was a completely normal post on someone’s IG. I saw plenty of people doing the exact same thing today. And it was a festival. Festivals = alcohol. Everyone in attendance had a drink in their hands and to be honest we didn’t see Louis even holding one in most of the pics we got. Louis is also a person and he’s allowed to enjoy his time with friends and family without this kind of nonsense. He loves festivals. Was it better the last time when he was with E?

I’m sorry but he’s setting a hetero/laddy image with his pics on IG, while Louis posted a pic of himself playing pool at Scissors, aka the Queer Wonderland at Glastonbury? Please look again haha. He’s wearing your fave clothes, holding a pool stick next to a pic of a drawing of a Drag Queen. That’s quite literally not hetero haha.

I don’t think people actually looked at L’s photos from Glasto because he definitely has a mix of pictures in there. Sure he’s got 1 pic with a Red Bull in his hand and yes a few with him smoking but he’s also got a couple of stage pics, a pic of him & Lottie, and a pic with Michael that looks like they’re on a first date and the best of his photo dump is a pic of him in a lesbian tent with a pool table and a drag Queen painting next to him. Like, how is that a laddy narrative? lol.

Also his gray hair actually brought him positive press after he got a ton of support from fans & the general public. People magazine calling him a silver Fox was not something I was expecting out of all of this. He’s now gone viral for a tik tok someone made too. So the good outweighed the bad with his gray hairs this time around. I doubt he’ll dye it now.

People all over social media calling Louis an honorary lesbian because of his little photo shoot in a lesbian tent at the fest and you & your anons saying he’s pushing a het image. I think someone didn’t actually look at his IG fest photos 💀

Hi, anons!

First of all, Scissors is not a queer only space.

Why would any queer person need to enter a queer space with an open mind? Nah, this message is for straight people entering queer spaces. So straight people are allowed in if they follow the rules above.

Second of all. We need to distinguish between the image Louis is projecting to the gp and what he's projecting to us, larries and fans who knows he's gay. In the scissors picture he's standing by a pool table. There is nothing queer about it if you don’t know where he is. What the heteronormative gp is seeing is a man who is hanging out with his large lad crew (and his sister), drinking, smoking, bending the rules by dragging a TV in to watch a football game, playing pool, sporting grey hair and having a good time. These are all activities associated with straight people (i know queer people do all these things too, but the het gp don't). He's enforcing his image, while also having a good time. It's both.

Nobody is saying he isn't allowed to have a good time with friends at a festival, but people are reacting to what sides of himself he's decided to show the world through his instagram. It's overly focused at showing lad friendship and his crew, drinking, drugs and partying culture and sports. Compare these pics to the Leeds pics with H and you'll see how different it really is. No cute photos of Louis eating. No pictures with females showing he's got female friends, no pics of anything music related or telling us which sets he watched. It's very one sided and intentional. Put it in context as well, where some of us are already tired of the glorification of drinking, smoking and drugs he does, this isn't helping, even though things like this is expected at a festival.

We know he is more than what he appears as to the gp, but we hardly ever get to see it. We know he's got more substance to him and that he's a smart and intelligent person. He isn't showing that and it's such a shame.

Can you explain more about the Umbro sweatshirt and timeline? I wasn’t in the fandom then and I want to understand the excitement that was felt then! Thanks!

Hi dear,

So on July 2nd 2020, Eleano posted this picture of Louis wearing the Umbro shirt to her IG story:

It was exciting bc Louis was super MIA during lockdown, and we only got to see him very few times.

His fashion account identified the shirt as a 90s unique vintage shirt, AKA hard to find and one of a kind:

Then, after reportedly isolating at home with friends in LA for months Harry is spotted back in the UK on June 12th 2020. He spends much of June and July and August between England and Italy.

Louis was pretty much entirely MIA this whole time, except for being placed in London (BLM) on June 6th. London again in July. Being MIA in August except for Eleno’s insinuation of their trip to Antigua. Then spotted at a football game w/ Oli in September, as well as at a pub in Oxfordshire.

Louis was MIA when Harry was spotted wearing his shirt, but they were both in London, obvs.

A week before going back to Italy again to film Golden, on September 18th 2020, a fan runs into Harry walking down the street in London and takes a picture with him:

Harry’s fashion account identifies the Umbro shirt as the same vintage unique Umbro shirt from the 90s:

And yes, it is the same shirt, same material, same color, same texture. It’s the same shirt:

It was incredible because we hadn’t seen anything like this in so long. They used to share clothes frequently during the band. But this is different because they’re not together 24/7 touring so wearing the same shirt carries a bit more weight. Not to mention that the narrative goes that they haven’t even seen each other since 2016. So this shows that that couldn’t be further from the truth.

I’m a larrie, but I believe F is Louis’ kid (i believe Larry were on break at that time I don’t believe Louis cheated) and I believe that purely bc of Louis’ family acknowledging F in pictures and posts and whatnot, and bc of that time Oli’s FB got hacked and people saw where he was talking about Louis having an unexpected child. My question is: if F isn’t Louis’ kid and this is a stunt, why does his family post about him, bc surely his family isn’t under a contract to post pictures of F spending Christmas with them right? Idk I’m looking for reasons NOT to believe but at the same time I have so many doubts 😔 No worries if you don’t want to answer but I just can’t find any real explanation elsewhere and I know you’re fairly informed in the Larry Lore. Also if you’d rather answer this in dms so as to not stir the pot I’d be happy to listen!

Hi sugar. So, I really can't list the 363728 reasons why I don't believe Freddie is Louis' child, but I'll answer the few things you've brought up.

Oli's Facebook hack was debunked. I've never seen anything that proved any of that was real. But word gets spread and soon it's accepted as truth.

Louis' family is always going to protect Louis. I'm sure his family do have certain NDAs and stipulations, but even if they didn't, they're going to do what they have to do to help him. And if that means commenting on a photo or posting pictures, then that's what they'll do.

I find the fact that Jay deleted all pictures of Freddie from her IG before she died to be much more of a smoking gun than the fact that Lottie and the twins (who all get a ton of attention whenever they do anything that connects to Louis) have posted stuff about Freddie.

Watching Harry and Louis' interactions in 2015, I'd be hard pressed to find any time that they would have been "on a break". Not to mention how at ease they were with each other during MITAM promo. If your boyfriend of 4 years, who you've fought desperately to be with despite everyone trying to break you up, goes and gets some random girl pregnant the minute you were "on a break" and then was having a baby with her, would you just take him back and be okay with it? I don't know. I just don't think Harry would be so happy go lucky about it.

Beyond these few things, there is just a ridiculous number of holes in the story that Freddie is Louis' child. I can't explain every single inconsistency, but I haven't seen a single compelling argument for him being a father.

July 2021 complete timeline

July 1 (Thur): Robert Harvey posts a pic of Louis in the studio working on LT2 (link).

Holivia is seen by fans having drinks, walking and having dinner in Island of Giglio (pictures and videos here). Within 30 minutes of pictures dropping, there is an article about Holivia on a romantic Italian getaway (link). Deuxmoi posts a ‘spotted’ pic of Holivia at dinner (link).

Deuxmoi mention Holivia’s Italian vacation in their weekly email newsletter, as well as recap Jason and Keeley going on romantic dates in NY on June 26th - further confirming them as a couple (link).

Jason & Keeley are papped on several dates in NY. Ted Lasso is deemed a strong Emmys contender.
