Mkay so it took me way too long but I have finally created new art :3 (I finished these a while ago and forgot to post them but SHHHHH)

Anyways, these characters are from my absolute favourite and most well developed story in the roster; Stones of Gold. The love I have for thus story and its characters cannot be put into words. They are my everything

Anyways, here they are :3

Characters featured (left-right): Zepsun and Casaraua

Cas is the main POV character of SoG and I love him to death, he’s one of my favourite characters in all of my stories😭 He was raised on a farm by his mom after his dad left her (he left because Cas is what is known as a Rune Shifter which I’ll explain later). He’s not the best with social interaction due to never having interacted much. He’s very shy and afraid of everything, even though he literally had super strength. He becomes the newest member of the main group behind the next guy

Zep, fun fact, is actually a minor antagonist in the beginning👀 He joins the main group last because of issues. Anyways, he was taken under some emperor’s wing after the guy saves him from slavery as a child which totally fucked with his psyche (as it should). Zep’s pretty closed off and tends to get defensive. He fears anyone who can beat him in a fight. He is also a rune shifter

They become very gay later on

Characters featured (left-right): Chryo and Cyruss

I fucking love Chryo to death, she’s just so fun. She is a TANK of a woman (and a Rune Shifter as well). I’d say she’s pretty motherly and sweet when interacting with people she likes but, when you threaten someone she loves, she’ll become your worst nightmare. She’s determined as fuck and very snarky, especially to her boyfriend. She was the first to join the group (AKA she created it LMAO)

Cyruss canonically has gigantism, making him very tall👀 He’s Chryo’s girlfriend and is definitely the more mellow of the two. He’s a musician (haven’t named or drawn the instrument yet but it’s kinda like a guitar/banjo hybrid Ig???) and enjoys his more gothic music n stuff like that (I imagine his music to sound like The Awakening or Miracle of Sound, or both) He’s a bit scary to many due to his quieter nature and darker colours, but he’s a very nice and chill guy with a lot of good advice to share. Like his girlfriend, he definitely knows how to fight :3 He joined the group second, though the last two basically joined with him so (The group as in the friend/rogue group, btw). Heis not a shifter

Characters featured (left-right): Drélan and Mitzen

Drélan is an ex knight who left due to disagreeing with his king. He had since become close friends with a viking, a gothic musician and an assassin (as well as a traumatised gay man and a farmer boy later on, obviously). He’s a very kind and selfless person who takes no bullshit from anyone every. This dude will literally stand between you and god. He sorta becomes a father figure to Cas in the story and they do strong man stuff together (like fix carts and talk about animals, obviously)

Mitzen is an ex assassin, leaving her guild for similar reasons to Drélan. They were once on opposing sides but became good and loyal friends once they both left their groups. She’s a ‘tough love’ kinda gal, shoving her friends into situations whether they like it or not. Like Zep, she’s pretty closed off but she’s definitely calmer and more composed than he is (due to being older and more mature)

They are the only characters in the group that aren’t in a romantic relationship with each other🤣 You can still ship them, tho :3

ANYWAYS, the ✨lore✨

Y’all are probably wondering what a Rune Shifter is, right? Yeah, I thought so👀 I’ll do my best to explain!

A Rune Shifter is a magical being with gem/rock/whatever material casings covering certain parts of their bodies (for reference, Zep, Cas and Chryo are Shifters). One-Runed Shifters are the most common, Two-Runed Shifters are rare, Three-Runes Shifters are VERY rare (90% of critters never see a single one in their lives) and Four-Runed Shifters are saved for myths n shit (no one knows if they’re even real) (Examples; Zep is a double shifter - meaning he had two magic types at once, making him a Two-Runed Shifter - Cas is a Three-Runed Shifter and Chryo is a One-Runed Shifter)

Shifters’ powers are element based (for example; Zep in an ice/water Shifter, Cas is a Sun Shifter and Chryo is a Moon Shifter (or Moon Rune and Cy likes to call her). There are quite a few of them and I haven’t written them all down yet, so🤣 Anyways, they all have different abilities (having more runes= more powers). More examples!! Ice Shifters can control ice, Water Shifters can control water, Sun Shifters are typically protective forces (with force field n super strength and all that), Moon Shifters can multiply and become invisible, etc. (It’s all still a wip so💀)

An ability all Shifters have is the ability to shift (duh) into Rune Beast forms. Rune Beast forms are like monster forms, they can take on any appearance but mostly take the appearance of different already existing animals (also a WIP). Many believe that the form you discover always means something

Now, for the ✨worldbuilding✨

Basically; Rune Shifters are powerful and scary so non-Rune Shifters hate them. Shifters are discriminated against and feared. Any mother to have a Shifter child and keep is also despised (basically Cas’ and his mother’s backstory lmao)

Hi! I want to start by warning that this will probably be a long rant about how much i love your IFs. But first, I hope you feel better soon!

The first IF of yours i played was the pjo one, which sent me down a rabbit hole of going through the rest of them (still haven't played tcs but i will soon 🤞🏻). It was just BAFFLING how people could be so purposefully ignorant about the concept of fanfiction and accused you over and over of plagiarism like, please go outside and touch grass, clearly the internet has stopped your brain from developing critical thinking.

Anyways, the adaptation was so well done and faithful while also exuding a newness to it that i am very excited to see unravel. I understand at the moment it has been paused (and I don't know if you've addressed why it's no longer up) and i hope with time you can feel comfortable with it again. None of the shit you've gotten was deserved or even understandable but alas, it still happened. As a content creator myself, i truly truly sympathize with you. I hope these words offer some comfort, however small.

Same goes for WLB, but the awe at how descriptive and raw your writing is really peaked through in something of your own creation. I find myself revisiting it and experiencing the exhilaration from my first reading all over again. I can't wait to watch everyone around my mc descend into eldritch madness as they become more and more unhinged. Consequences of my own actions? Never heard of them, i want my mc to go apeshit!

Now, gods where do i start... TBOTYG is *chef's kiss* flawless, i never thought i could become so obsessed with anything with only one part. I awaited the demo with baited breath, already anticipating all the ways you would surprise and impress (and you did). Every choice, every scenario, the way you build your plot and characters, your descriptions (I don't know if you can tell that I'm a little too hung up on the writing aspect of it) of characters and actions and feelings. The amount of work and effort you put into characterization is so very clear and it feels very freeing to have that amount of control over a character that we're supposed to "relate" to (in the context of the narrative, almost as if living vicariously through them). i think that no matter how much time passes, your IFs will remain a staple in the community and every player who finds your gems will feel blessed and changed after playing.

It's gotten to the point I've created a whole google doc of my MC, and made fake ig accounts with interactions (just for myself, to cope with the anticipation) and this is a level of commitment I've only felt with my own OCs and works. In such a short time, your IFs have carved a deep space for themselves in my life. I find myself replaying and going through their official pages religiously even though I've read every post already.

a question! will every LI's gender be chosen individually? I'm wondering because C and D are suitmates, but is it doable if they're different genders? same for mc and V. I'm thinking yes but also wanted to be sure

Honestly very very sorry for the long rant, I'm sure you have better things to do 😭😭 but i had the uncontrollable urge to express my feelings on your art and it took me an entire day of trying to talk myself out of it (i failed).

i’m speechless (sentimentally), dear reader 😭 i still can’t believe some people would take the time out of their day to think about my silly little worlds and the characters in it, less of all like how i’ve written my works. every single time i hit a writer’s block or have the whole doxxing trauma flare up again, i think of quitting but it’s the urge to write stories and the joy of sharing it with everyone that is still keeping me going.

i can’t explain how much your words mean to me because this is what i write for. to have people relate to or identify with or adore the world and characters i’ve built is such a dream within itself. from the bottom of my heart, i am thankful for every single reader who has always been nothing but supportive from day one. if elias has his apple, i have y’all. and no, it doesn’t mean y’all can have my meagre inheritance but it’s the sentiment that counts.

to answer your question, every single LIs gender will be selectable! blackthorne hall has individual bedrooms per suite so y’all will only be sharing the common areas and kitchenette with V while having your own personal space. it’s more like an apartment than a usual college dorm tbh.

oh and please, rant away! i’d love nothing more than to hear about your MCs and the various headcanons, questions, or theories you might have!

Bdubs comes home from work to find his girlfriend, who he lives with, Cleo, murdered. And the murderer, still at the scene! The murderer disappears right before Bdubs's eyes, and leaves shards of glass behind. The investigation obviously takes place, and, after long questioning and everything, Bdubs is forced to spend the night at a hotel, exhausted. Strange things continue to happen, as everything becomes strangely quiet, as though the entire world had stopped. There is knocking on the door, but no answer; until a tall woman, mysterious but strangely normal looking, enters the room. She introduces herself as Pearl and gives Bdubs a clock, saying he lost it. Bdubs doesn't recognize it, until Pearl shows that his name is engraved on the backside. That's when Bdubs remembers that it was his former friend, Etho, who made this clock for him. They haven't talked in such a long time, but Bdubs was still devastated that he lost such as precious item. Pearl doesn't even hint at where she found it or how she has it, but she says that it's been away, quietly collecting magical power. Turns out, the clock can stop time - Pearl shows him how, and after Bdubs puts the palm of his hand on the face of the clock, the time resumes, the ambient noises are back and Pearl just... Disappears, with no answers.

As if Bdubs wasn't stressed enough already, Cleo's body also goes missing. One of those days, Bdubs walks by his house and sees a familiar silhouette... It speaks with a familiar voice, though horribly distorted. The person is Cleo, a walking corpse. She calms Bdubs down to the best of her ability and they try to catch up on what's going on. Turns out, Cleo woke up with a strange woman looking at her; it was the same woman that Bdubs met, Pearl! Cleo thinks she probably was given a little time to finish her business, and decides that the last thing she has to do in this world... Is to take revenge on her killer. Bdubs thinks it's uncharacteristic of them; he thought they'd say something like, "to spend my last days doing what i love, with someone i love". But Cleo says they have a specific reason why they want to take revenge. It's because they know the killer! They don't tell Bdubs who it is though.

Now, i haven't figured out what happens next yet. Here's some miscellaneous stuff ig

Some people may have guessed that "person disappears before your eyes and leaves glass shards behind" sounds like a specific power i have for a specific someone... It's Etho, actually. But also, writing this, i thought how cool would that be... If they meet Etho and find out about his power, and think oh it's so obviously him. But he swears it's not. And plot twist it's actually someone else who framed him ghhhhgghh do i wanna say who i have in mind. Do i wanna say. Um. I was thinking Lizzie. Idk. Idk. I think it's cool tho

There's gonna be other peepos in this AU too!! I'm thinking it's gonna be groups of people who start off seeming unconnected, but gradually your realize they're all part of one story (i love this sort of thing!!). The other group will be the Magic Mountains bros (or whatever they're called). So far I have thought of powers for Scar and Joel, and i have ideas but am undecided on Gem, Grian and Skizz, and haven't even began thinking about Impulse.. And mumbo (i keep forgetting he exists)

I thought it'd be funny if Grian had to throw a dice for everything he does and let luck decide if he succeeds or fails. No particular reason for it, other than sort of? adapting a curse i had for him in another AU but for a different setting. In that other AU, he had a curse where, when he would involve himself in someone else's business, the result of his involvement would be the opposite of what he intended. Here, i adapted the basic idea of this, which is: Grian's actions are not under his control, and are independent from his intentions. The only thing is... The rest of them have actual powers, but Grian is stuck with a curse again LMAO i will keep thinking about this.

For Scar, it's a power that i talked about and, in fact, also headcanon for his Hermitcraft character. It's that he has (pretty limited) shapeshifting abilities. Essentially, he can change a few basic things about himself, but he can't, like, turn into a tiger or into a rock. So he has to remain human basically. I think.

For Joel i wanted something crazy. I remembered an AU i had for another fandom, so i gave him a power based on that. Whenever Joel has a bleeding open wound, he goes berserk.. he has increased strength, but can hardly control himself. He ends up being covered in scars, poor boy.

For Gem, i initially had nature powers in mind. Her talent and love for building organics could translate very well into something like controlling plants. But then i remembered, if I'm (sort of) basing this group on season 10, should i give her water powers instead? Hm.

For Skizz, uh, I'm like. I REALLY want something that's kind of like... It SCREAMS that it's Skizz's power, or maybe it enhances his already present character traits. But so far the only thing i came up with is... Super duper eyesight. He can see ridiculously far, with all the detail, but also ridiculously close. What do you think. I think it's a cool power but I'm not sure it fits.

As for Pearl, i think she's kind of like... Not the "mastermind", but something like an outside force who has more powers and information than everybody else. Perhaps she isn't even human. I thought it'd be neat if she only appeared during a full moon.

Oh, and on Etho, of course. His power is to go fully non-existent for short times, but he leaves glass shards behind. In addition to that, he needs to keep a strong grip on his consciousness in this state, or it will disappear as well and he will forever remain this weird type of ghost.

That is all i have for now (i think)! I just like thinking, guys. I guess i should really get into a habit of finishing stuff though... It definitely won't be this time lmao sorry. Please do talk to me about this though UwU

Also I should mention this is gonna be a mix between a random badass persona and us irl. (talking about how we gonna be acting in the story btw) @dax-enfinity

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD" a loud voice was heard, the voice belonging to Tommy who was clearly mad.

"calm down-" said technoblade trying to ease the younger one but Tommy just kept on screaming.

Wilbur was clearly angry but wasn't screaming like Tommy he just covered his ears and hoped it would go away

While Philza just looked annoyed.

So you may be wondering, what the fuck happened.

Well it's a long long..story

So let's just focus on the now.

"GOD SHUT UP TOMMY" said Wilbur not putting up with more of Tommy's screaming

"MAKE ME" screamed Tommy back with a challenging tone in his voice

Wilbur glared daggers at him and was about to move but Phil stopped him and just looked at the two.

"how about you both stop, it's been a long night and we're all tired so let's just all agree to just sit right and cooperate, ok?" said Phil looking at the boys

"fine.." both grumbled out and sta back down in their places.

"thank yo-" Phil was cut off by the sound of their front door banging open, everyone stood up and grabbed whatever weapon they had nearby to defend themselves with incase.

The person who opened the door just looked at them with faded eyes while they were clutching their stomachs side which was filled with blood.

Wilbur and Tommy dropped their weapons and let the injured person inside.

They had short brown hair, glasses with a golden rim and wore a black shirt with black pants with some Armour around them and a sword. They also had this type of jewlery which consisted of some plain crystals for their necklaces and a black bracelet with a purple gem in the middle of it shaped in the way of a sword which didn't match what they were wearing at all.

They helped the stranger and bandaged him up, after that he introduced himself

He said his name was 'Dax Enfinity' dax for short.

"Say dax what happened anyways, you know with the whole, you know, big dangerous injury, it's not you know common for someone to show up to someone's house with one of those" said Tommy trying to choose his words carefully, he could tell dax was a nice guy but he was fucking pissed of right now and Tommy didn't want to get beaten up.

"well, have you all heard of toxic? Or also known as Noah?" asked dax.

"you mean Noah as in that one guy who likes to draw and read and shit?" said tommy the last part underneath his breath

"yeah, let's just say he's not what you expect" said dax towards the group getting ready to tell a long story

Flashback

Dax came out of the woods with his sword cutting any branches getting in the way of his path.

He saw in the way of his path this old run down castle and next to it a normal house with someone clearly in it.

Dax was tired from his journey so he decided to go to the house and knock hoping the person inside would be kind enough to give him some food or shelter for the night.

He knocked on the door and heard a muffled 'coming!' from the inside he waited until a guy with Brown hair and purple streaks came outside and opened the door, he had a white trench coat and a black turtle neck, black pants and white boots with purple shoelaces.

"is something wrong? Are you lost?" asked the stranger from the house looking at dax

"hi, yes, um, do you have some food and if you do could you give some to me I'm on my way home and I'm almost out of food-" dax was explaining but was cut off by the man dragging him in his house while saying 'this is unacceptable, you shouldn't be traveling in such conditions here go to the guest room I'll make you some food' and dax went to the guest room and laid down in the bed, he hadn't relaized how much he missed the soft feeling of the blankets and his big pillow. Even though it wasnt his bed an pillows he was still happy, after some time the guy came in with some food clearly fresh and put them away in dax's bag.

"thank you, how can I ever repay you?" said dax looking at the man

"there's no need for that trust me, by the way just call me Noah and don't be afraid to stop by if you ever need anything" said the man now known as Noah now walking out the guest room leaving dax alone with his thoughts

Then a few months passed and Dax found himself to be talking with Noah on a daily, they both had similar interest and likes.

It was when dax came to visit when it happened.

Dax walked towards the house, it was late at night and the lights to the house were off, this seemed suspicious to dax so he proceeded with caution, as he got closer he noticed blood on the windows and walls, as well as scratch marks all over the place.

He went inside the house and started looking around, the place was a complete disaster he got his sword out and prepared himself for anything.

Nothing happened though so he just lowered his sword and calmed down, dax was about to walk away when he was attacked by something, or someone.

They both struggled and Dax got his sword out, it wasn't until the person that attacked him was on the floor that he recognized them.

It was Noah but now with white hair, shining neon purple cat like eyes, and full black clothes with a purple cape with a type of sun and moon design on it with a golden chain clasp keeping the cape on Noah.

"well, well, well, if it isn't the human, you know out of all the travelers, I like you the best!" said Noah the last part with way to much excitement as he lounged himself at dax.

Dax got out of the way as Noah threw himself onto the shows after his failed attack.

Noah was nowhere to be seen now as he blended in with the shadows, he could hear Noah stating to speak up as his voice echoed around the house.

"Say dax, do you know what dark magic is? And I'm not talking about the safe one you can just read about, no, I'm talking about, the wild one that destroyed everything in its way, the one that shows no mercy." said Noah still nowhere to be seen

"that's not black magic, that's toxic magic Noah, it won't help It will just make everything worst trust me." said dax looking around while keeping a tight grip on his sword

Until he heard a loud crash coming besides him, he looked at what caused the sound but inmiedetaly regretted it.

Noah and Dax were now in a full on combat that eventually they ended up outside.

Dax was also familiar with magic plant magic, so after a while he had to give up his sword and fight fire with fire.

Noah now was long lost as half his body was covered in this black goop with some purple and white streaks, and a large smile was plastered on his face.

Dax remained the same with some small injuries here and there.

It was when they got deep into the forest where it got difficult.

Noah had the upper hand here since he merged/blended in with the shadows perfectly.

Dax was on guard all the time, it was when he realized he lost a piece of his Armour when he felt a piercing feeling on his stomachs right side he put pressure on the wound with his hands in hopes of stopping the bleeding, he knew in this condition he was put in he would die sooner or later so he had to run.

Run far away from Noah

He ran and ran almost fainting until he heard some shouting close to where he was.

So with his last strengths he ran towards the house and opened the door hoping the owner/s would hear it and come help him out.

That's when he saw the family of four when he calmed down and they helped him with his injury.

End of flashback.

The family stayed quiet at dax story and just looked at eachother as if it was some type of secret communication no one could understand except them.

They all seem to have made up their minds as they helped dax get in a bed and gave him some healing potions.

The family left the house with their Armour and weapons heading off into the forest.

They walked for some hours and then arrived at the gates of what everyone knows as

'The DreamSMP'

They walked inside, looking for someone.

It didn't take long to find them as they were as everyone knew them.

"ruins! We know you're here!" no response

"no point in hiding just come here so we can't talk" again no response

"oh god dammit.." mutered Tommy

"come out here ruins, or should I say Noah?!" screamed the younger at the "empty" place

Soon a mist of black fog surrounded a specific place in the house as it spun and spun and soon toxic aka Noah appeared

"what do you want?" said Noah clearly mad.

You see as soon as dax mentioned toxic magic they knew who he was talking about, ruins is the only one in the server who knows that type of magic.

"what the fuck were you thinking?" said Wilbur looking at Noah

"you will need to explain, I'm a magic-wielder not a magic gueser" said Noah, he was pissed you could see that by just listening to his voice.

"oh you know just attacking a normal villager, who was trying to walk by, were not idiots you know" said Wilbur glaring at Noah, man they did not like eachother at all.

"oh you mean him, dax right? Yeah well it was the only way I would of gotten this" said Noah as he got a sword covered in blood, presumably dax's blood

"what the fuck do you need that for?!" said Wilbur his voice showing confusion and anger.

"he's got a point that's kinda creepy" said techno his voice monotone as always, he knew Noah and they talked often so he was kinda used to these shenanigans of his.

"well as I was investigating and I found out something intresting." said Noah everyone stayed quiet so he took it as his chance to continue

"there is one other universe aside from this one, where we all exist but it different, our lives everything we stand for is just, quiet literally a game for them, we're nothing but fiction in that universe, and after some investigating I found out in that world this dax and I, even though we barley know eachother here, over there, we're like the sound and the moon, complete opposites that no what always get along! Isn't that amazing!?" said Noah stars practically in his eyes from excitement by now.

Noah pulled out a diogram like a kind of web of that other universe with proof of everything he just said

Everyone stood amazed at what was before their eyes.

"dax's blood was the last thing I needed to prove my theory" said Noah happily at his evidence and work

"but that dosent make what I did okay. I will admit that" said Noah looking down

"so you'll go apologize to him?" said Phil looking at Noah with a smile and a bit of hope

"uh yeah, no." said Noah looking at Phil

"what? Why not?" said tommy looking at Noah

"well we were just meant to be

Fast forward to baji and kazu breaking in shinichiro's shop. Instead of just shinichiro, cher came with shin to the shop to hang a little.

When baji found the bike, it was cher who first approached him. Eventually shin find out and he starts approaching baji and cher and yk what happened

After kazu has hit shin he saw cher who was still in shock and without thinking, hit him too

Since the hit was weaker, it didnt kill cher. However, it was strong enough to slam him to the nearby wall hitting his head rlly hard

Baji and kazu get arrested yada yada u already know and since we didnt rlly hear much about the court hearing i cant rlly say much about that

BUT cher's father did attend and gave a statement that helped lessen their sentence

Oh well, cher is still in the hospital, so baji decides to visit and probably formally apologize for what happened.

But when he got there cher was not like himself and when baji asked yama-san, yama-san said; "Cherry is stable, however there are some complications due to the injury"

Yk how i said cher being trans is important? Well cher jusy started being cher a year before all of this happened and was v sensitive to being misgendered

So why would his own father call him cherry again?

Because cher forgot that he's cher

Cher got amnesia from the injury making him forget about the recent years, he forgot abt his toman friends, he only vaguely remembers his childhood friends, he forgot abt realizing he's trans

At that moment he was cherry, not cher.

Anyways baji believing that he did this to his crush, he decided he'll help cher to recover.

So they end up spending a lot of time together causing their little crushes to grow

Baji helped cher have his "firsts" again in hopes it'll help cher remember

Baji was there when cher realized again that he's trans.

So all in all baji is a great fucking friend and cher treasures him like a precious gem

(I need to excersize my writing muscle more, otjerwise I’ll just keep making bad stuff like what I’m about to sjow. But you can never get better at anytjing if you don’t use it, like art or languages! Sp that’s wjy tjis also exists! Tjis is set as a sort of alternate occurrence of Season 1, Episode 41 of Steven Universe: Horror Club. It only jas spoilers for tje ending of tje episode kinda? It only goes to a certain point in tje end wjicj overlaps, but after tjat lil part, it’s a wjole new story kinda. Paragrapj 1 is tje part tjat overlaps. It’s pretty bad tjo still, so read at risk of cringe ig. BTW it’s under a cut after P1 cuz it’s kinda long-)

Angry, screeching, the house wails and roars, keeping Sadie behind the bars of it's teeth. She screams in fear as she tries her best to climb out. Ronaldo, Lars and Steven stare forward, taking in the scene. In a quick moment of thought, Ronaldo takes Lars in a headlock and marches forward. "Hey! Let go!" He struggles in his arm. "Wait, stop, what are you doing!" Ronaldo raises Lars up high like an offering. "SPIRIT, I DELIVER THE PACKAGE OF DARKNESS! RETURN TO US THE INNOCENT SADIE!" The wall screeches Lars' name. "C-c'mon man, we used to be friends!" "And you threw me AWAY!" Ronaldo chucks Lars in like garbage. Steven calls out, "Lars!" and runs after him, Ronaldo doing the same to Steven. "No! Steven! He's not worth it!" Steven jump in with Lars, who complains. "Why does everything bad always happen to me!?"

They struggle in its mouth, but they are no match, as its tongue pushes them to its pearly whites (somehow, they were spotless) which begin to close down. And in a last minute thinking, Steven pushes Lars out the Mouth, having to stretch to do so. Leaving his gem right below the incoming dentures. They  bite down with all their might, and two loud cracks echo around the room. For a moment, everyone stops, everything stops. It feels like they're all frozen in time. Suddenly, a large cloud obscures Steven, accompanied by the sound of a 'poof'. Curling in on himself, Steven shakes on the ground. At the same time, there's a 'clink' of a gemstone hitting the ground, and Sadie. "Sadie!" The boys smile, relief washing over them. Sadie smiles back and opens her mouth to say something, only for it to fall at the sight of a pained Steven. "Steven!" She rushes to his side. "What happened!?" "I... I think my- my gem- I- g-get me to- to the gems..." Each movement he makes rings with indescribable pain, and his brain is actually ringing. The boys now mirror Sadie's worried expression, although in their own way. Sadie tries to pick Steven up gently, he winces and curls in further, his arms covering his stomach. Next to Sadie, Ronaldo walks and picks up the gem. "What do we do with the spirit?" "Bring it w-with us, the- the gems'll know." He doubts his bubbling ability and the moment. And even if he knew he could bubble it, he would rather not move much at the moment. "Hang in there, we'll get you home." Carful not to harm Steven further, Sadie begins a speed walk, the boys following behind. Lars' eyes dart around as they go up stairs, go out doors, and travel through buckets worth of grass. "Is he bleeding?" "No. It might be something internal." "We did hear a crack when it bit down on him." "It BIT DOWN ON HIM?" Sadie turns her head slightly to Ronaldo. "Yea, then it disappeared!" Ronaldo waved around his arms in exaggeration. "Steven might have some anti-spirit properties! Steven, when you're okay, could I study you for research purposes?" "Wh- what? Nno!" He shifts uncomfortably in Sadie's arms as they enter the more beach-like part of Beach City, near his house. His eyes are shut tight. They delve back into conversation, but this time, the words all start to blur for Steven. They become muffled, as if they were behind a wall.

Next thing he knows, he hears the panicked screams (and gasps) of the Crystal Gems. He perks up a little, home at last. Turning his body around in Sadie's grip, which was surprisingly light yet also strong, he groans a little in pain. It burns, but he wants to see the gems. Opening his eyes feel like turning on the light after a day in the dark, they sting. Pearl has her arms out, shouting something in Steven's direction, most likely to be something of 'Don't move!', or maybe his name again. Garnet's usually quite stiff pose is broken, showing slight vulnerability even without her eyes being shown. And Amethyst, having fresh memories of being cracked, looks at him with the purest concern ever with a familiar bubbled gem in her hands. Steven strains himself to listen to what they say. "Why are we standing here, get moving! We need to get to Rose's fountain!" Pearl quickly snatches Steven from Sadie's arm, pausing for a moment as a pang of heightened pain makes Steven whimper. He opens his mouth, only to be cut off by a barrage of coughs. Pearl tried to pat them away. "Give him to me." Garnet's arms extend out to take him. Cautiously, she gives him to Garnet, who instantly spring into action to the warp pad, prompting everybody else to follow. They enter the warp stream.

Garnet's holding a weak, shaky and pained Steven, who has closed his eyes again. He shivers for two reasons now, one being the freezer that is the warp stream. Pearl is panicking, quietly talking to herself. Amethyst is fidgeting with her hands, starring at the poor boy. Sadie worriedly stares forward, her worry shared by Lars, although outwardly dulled. Ronaldo only has a bit of worry, instead examining the warp stream and asking the Crystal Gems questions they'd rather not answer in such a dire situation. Not like it mattered, considering Ronaldo would instantly switch the the next question anyway.

They quickly arrive to their destination, not that Steven notices. He's gone back into a state of complete drowsiness, any sounds of pain that accidentally leaks through being slightly more noticeable. Garnet pushes forward toward the fountain, everybody following close behind. And when they arrive, Garnet wastes no time in swiftly and harshly submerging Steven in the tears. His eyes shoot open in surprise and fear and he screams under the sort of shallow water and moves around like a madman. Good news though, he seems to have a lot more strength than before, so his gem must've fixed. With a smile, Garnet pulls a gasping Steven out of the water. He pulls up his shirt just enough to see a shining, clean rose quartz gem, no longer cracked. Garnet pulls him into a hug which he reciprocates, followed by all the gems and humans, minus Lars. Steven starts to laughs, now healed and safe, tears pooling in his eyes. Cracks littered his croaky voice.

Uhh i think Leon (and Hop) will probably make it there in like a year ig

Because 1) they need to find JP and ENG voice actors, 2) make their sync stories and dialogue and 3) honestly it feels kinda soon because the game just came out. Some people won’t have it until, like, Christmas, so.

There’s also creating sync pairs. 100% Red’s coming with his charizard (who will mega after a sync move like Blue, Karen, that guy with the pinsir) so if Leon’s coming with a charizard(which I’m sure he will, because it’s his in game ace, but idk if that’ll conflict since everybody gets 1 specific pokemon. the only difference btw red and leon will be what charizard does after a sync move), and Hop may have a wooloo? i’m honestly not too sure about Hop but since Wooloo was his first pokemon, I don’t see why not.

i know I just said Leon and Hop coming now would be early, but it also could’ve worked to have them come out ~November as promotion for SWSH in Masters, aside from the 60gems for a couple days and a few characters talking about Galar. They coulda been some free units smh

Anyway I’m trying to save up like 42k gems since that’s enough for 400 sync scout points. 400 lets you get any sync pair that’s in the pool at the time of a specific banner but HOPEFULLY I can get him before that. If Leon came this November-December my bank account would be so empty lmfao

I'm hear to tell my story to you, bc I really like u &ur blog!! So there is this guy who ended up in my grade after being in the USA for one year (this was about 2 years ago). From the first time I saw him I found him interesting but arrogant (I'm glad that I can sort of feel how people are/'read' them😌). 1st problem: I knew that it was that 'interesting' feeling that makes me fall in love. I usually only take a liking in guy/girls but it never develops in more thanks to my Gem Venus:)...-Andra

I only experienced this feeling once before him (Max). And I’m more of the down to earth type of person regarding love. The next problems are my trust issues. It’s no surprise since I’m discovered more about astrology & my chart (My Venus is in the 12th House and I have Juno in Retrograde, etc) and due to some events in the past. I think what really attracted me to the to guys was that I could not quite ‘read’ them fully - if you know what I mean 😅. I only felt that under their… - Andra..I was a little child, she already felt like she was talking to a grown up. And as much as I wish to just be silly & childish & start relationships without a second thought (Like my Gem Venus would like to), I can’t. :( Okay I may love to just talk about unnecessary side things too. U’ll have to deal with it.;) Sry, not sry. So, Max is really handsome on the first look (his hair was terrible tho. He had an undercut but his upper hair was long &went down his head in an umbrella curve😂 -AndraHe still uses to much hair gel tho.) Many younger girls like him and some from our grade maybe did a bit too. Until he opened his mouth. That is when my first thought got confirmed: He is an asshole. At least on the outside but it doesn’t matter much to me bc my Sun is in the 11th house which means I wouldn’t go out with someone my friends don’t like or who treats them badly. He’s father is pretty rich so he kind acts like he is really important. His image of girls is pretty gross too..- Andra.But I can’t stop what my heart feels, even tho I can ignore and surpress it. I guess this is a good thing.:) Regardless of how much my hearts wants something my mind is taking the lead, so I almost always keep a cool head. To be honest I wouldn’t have ever forgiven myself if I’d gone out with him. This book! Gah! Mesmerizing while at the same time carrying a deeper message. This is one you won’t want to miss out on. I am FULLY supporting & showing my love for this book for many reasons, the main one being that in this world Clayton has given us a society who loves all skin tones & complexions. The social commentary on body image & high standards set by this fictional society really mirrors our own. There’s also LGBTQIA+ rep with three of the characters, one of them plays a main role & sexuality in this society is fluid–two women marrying would be considered normal by their society as subtlety mentioned in the book (my heart warmed when I read this). I LOVED This book to pieces!!!!

3. A book that you love but no one else talks about 

You Bring the Distant Near by Mitali Perkins

Why am I not seeing more Bookworms talking about this BEAUTIFUL gem of a book?!?! for all but especially those who enjoy literary fiction from time to time…this YA book about 3 generations of women will warm your heart & leave you smiling! almost entirely made up of female MC’s this book covers an older matriarch, her children & her grandchildren…GAH! LOVED it & want to see more books like this one hit our shelves 🙂

 Mustang & Darrow- Red Rising Saga…these two are fierce alone & together they’re a force to be reckoned with.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor...with reason Bookworms LOL! Laini si one of my top 3 fave authors & I just couldn’t bear the wait til the sequel but now that we have cover art, guess what time it is?!?! Kids Room Ideas From The Cutest Kids Bookstore Ever (Really, It’s AMAZING)

When we were visiting the Bowers this weekend, we shared some fleeting photos of a super adorable kids bookstore on Instagram stories. Then we got a barrage of messages and comments to the tune of: PLEASE DO A POST ABOUT THIS STORE SO IT WON’T BE GONE IN 24 HOURS! So here we are, with those photos (and some more we didn’t share on IG) for anyone who’s looking for some fun kids room ideas. Or adult room ideas. We all LOVED this place so much. It’s in Monroe, Georgia and it’s called The Story Shop – and it’s the cutest bookstore we’ve ever seen. You think I’m exaggerating with that description but in the words of Hamilton: just you wait.

See that grand bookcase, library ladder, and globe collection? It’s like all of the elements of a cool old library executed in a fresh and playful way. And we loved that happy aqua accent wall (try Benjamin Moore’s Misty Teal for a similar look – just on one wall, a door, or a piece of furniture to avoid overwhelming a room). But my favorite part of this store’s entry was that little old TV under the pink side table. Written on it in white were the words “read instead.”

The other thing that caught my eye right away was this wallpaper which is Wild by Chasing Paper (yes, I asked a million questions while walking around with my mouth open). It’s peel & stick, so it’s removable and they said it was really easy to hang. It’d be so cute in a kids room on the wall behind the bed. I also loved those colorful animal heads (this one and this one) that they painted in bright colors and then added funny things (glasses! a crown! a mustache!). And of course the handmade sign with literary locales was just one of many clever book references throughout the store.

Speaking of magical book references, look at this armoire, er, wardrobe that LEADS TO A HIDDEN ROOM! Kids could climb right through it and it was SUCH A HIT. Let the record state that grown ups were doing it too. Fun for the whole family. Also – we’ve actually seen an armoire like this in a grown up bedroom space that led to a secret closet and it was equally mesmerizing. Just a really fun and unexpected idea for a home or a shop.

I realize this begs the question: what’s behind the wardrobe? It wasn’t lions or witches, but there was a whale involved. It led to their storytelling room, which was ridiculously fun. And it was really smart of them to fill the big space with two identical rugs (I tracked down the exact rugs they used) rather than to have to splurge on (or maneuver) one giant rug for the room.

Speaking of secret spaces, there was also a little round Hobbit hole door that led to a tiny play space for kids to hang out in. I remember a children’s clothing store growing up that had a little hole for kids to enter through instead of the main door and I LOVED GOING (and I hated every other clothing store by comparison). We actually featured a home in our second book with a secret “mousehole” passageway between two kids’ rooms that I’m still thinking about three years after we shot it (it’s on page 302, btw).

Here’s another shot of that hobbit hole in use, and you can also see some other fun touches, like that awesome brick wall they swarmed with butterflies (something we also did in our playroom!) and the felt garland they strung from a piece of driftwood (I think this is the garland they used, but Etsy has tons of other options). Oh and see Peter Pan’s shadow? They didn’t miss a single opportunity to add in little storybook nods wherever they could.

Our kids (there were 6 of ’em between us and the Bowers!) immediately found their way to the swing that the store (bravely) hung in one corner. Everyone managed to take turns, mostly peacefully, and no one knocked over the incredible peaked bookcase village that displayed stories from all over the world – so I’d call that a win. You could easily DIY a little “cityscape” of bookcases like this, or purchase pre-made ones like this and this to recreate it on a smaller scale.

Also… hanging books. Do you see them suspended from the ceiling by strings? They had bent their pages like origami so they stayed fanned open, kind of like these. They were so much fun to look at from below (and they gave me flashbacks to the most recent season of Orange Is The New Black, which was so good you guys). Also those books in the foreground stole my heart. Especially this one about Frida Kahlo and this one about Maya Angelou.

They sold a few little toys, costumes, and t-shirts, so you’d figure they’d have hanging racks or rods or something for the clothing. NOPE. Colorful chairs hung from the wall. With Humpty Dumpty balancing on one of them. Because that’s how they roll.

Also, back to the big bookcase from the first picture. All of the art in the store had some sort of literary reference in it (including these Baby Lit prints they sold) which added to the whole “reading is fun” vibe of the place. And who noticed the rose in the cloche on the bookcase with the ladder? BELLE, right?! I’m telling you, there were so many cute hidden gems like that in here. Also, see the Cheshire Cat disappearing into that chair in the corner? They just ironed a mouth right onto the chair. These people could not have put more thought into this space. I know I’m gushing, but they deserve every last gush.

Here’s a close up of the rainbow books on the shelf. This little lineup of hardcover classic books by Puffin made my heart ache for a collection of my very own. Also, the Penguin ones below them. I might even let the kids read them too ;)

THEY EVEN FRIGGIN’ MADE GIANT PAPER FLOWERS like the queen’s roses that were painted in Alice In Wonderland. I mean. At this point I might have been hyperventilating.

Oh and see that room off to the right in the photo above? That’s the party room. Kids (and grown ups!) can have parties here and let me tell you, THEY DO NOT PHONE IT IN. The one they were prepping for was Peter Pan themed, and the table was full of sweet references, like thimbles in a bowl labeled “Kisses From Wendy” and a ticking clock like the one a certain crocodile swallowed. They also do Alice In Wonderland and other themes. I’m a 35-year-old woman and I want a party there now. “I want a feast! I want a bean feast!” (name that movie… based on a book, of course).

I also loved all of the twinkle lights they hung overhead (who says you can’t do that in a kids room – or your own room?!). Those plus the “grass” on the wall and the string lights made this whole room feel like an outdoor courtyard. Or perhaps a tea party with a certain mad host.

Also, THIS CHAIR. I can’t. I just can’t.

No wait, THIS CHAIR. Nothing makes my heart go pitter patter like a hand-carved bunny (let the record state that ten minutes before seeing this chair I never knew that was my thing).

Even the back of the store was witty and charming. Have you ever seen a more clever way to keep customers out of the employees-only area?

Bonus footage: I did my best Belle impression while Katie stole a chance to rest her feet. I know how to act in public, I swear. “No denying she’s a funny girl that Bellllllle.”

So if you’re ever passing through Monroe, Georgia or if you live nearby I hope you have a chance to see The Story Shop for yourself. Even if you don’t live very close, this place is totally road-trip worthy! And when we shared some pics on Instagram we actually heard from the designer, whose name is Stephanie Cannon, and get this – she reads our blog and listens to our podcast (!!!!!). She was so sweet and actually saw us when we were in Monroe, so it was really funny because she thought she was fangirling us, but you guys, I AM TOTALLY FANGIRLING HER.

They may not be as cheap or easy to shop at as Amazon or B&N, but we’ve all seen a certain documentary called You’ve Got Mail, right?
