welcome to my blog!

hello, my name is zoe and i’m (almost) 22 years old. i’ve wanted to start a blog for a while now, and i’ve missed tumblr, so i thought this was a good place to start. my goal is to have somewhere i can journal, share stories i write, recipes i try, things i wear, places i go. in a sense i’d like to treat this blog like a digital diary, somewhere to show others and remind myself how i live my life. i’d like to start by introducing myself a little bit.

i live in dallas, tx. i’ve been in the area my whole life, but someday i hope to move somewhere a bit more scenic like colorado or oregon.

i love to read, i’ve picked the habit back up in the last year or so and i’m so glad i did. i used to fly though books when i was a kid.

i love movies, i prefer them to tv shows most of the time. some of my favorites are the perks of being a wallflower, the butterfly effect, donnie darko. i really enjoy the twilight series as well, the books and the movies. (team edward <3)

i enjoy cooking, but i actually didn’t really start learning until i was about 20. my boyfriend taught me, he’s a great cook. (:

i like to be creative in any way i can, whether it’s through writing, painting, crafting. anything i can create i really love to do. i hope to be able to share some of that on here as well.

i have a full time job, but i plan on going to college online for my english degree soon. school was never my thing, but now that i’m seeing all my friends graduate college at the same time i would’ve been if i had gone, i feel like i’m missing out a little bit.

i used to really love music, i still enjoy it a lot, but i find myself listening to podcasts most days now lol. my staple genres though are usually indie, alternative, rock. anything that makes me feel like an angsty 15 year old again, i’m all over it.

i’m looking forward to posting on here. i’ve always wanted an outlet to post things on the internet, but never really wanted to be an “influencer” or anything like that, so i hope this blog is a great way for me to do that. i want to be real and raw about life, the slow & mundane parts, the fast & exciting parts, i want to share my experiences about it all. i hope that if anyone does read this blog, they find something relatable or entertaining, or at the very least a distraction from whatever may be going on in their own lives.

Donovan Morgan aka Donny grew up in Kismet, Oregon as part of a large family that that had been around for years. One family that did own a lot of places and ran with the high end of life. But Donny always one was who didn’t long to care for the fancy and only best things in life. He was happy to have the basics and just be a normal person. That he has a teenager got a job at a diner in town, the only child working in the family. But he knew he had a calling as kid and soon as he was eighteen he went off to join the Marines. His family thought he was crazy and did try to talk him out it. By mostly saying they pay for him to travel or go to college. But Donny turned it all down and went in. Getting sent to Texas for his training and his first base.

The first few years for Donny were wild ride, he had good time and worked his way up the ranks. But wasn’t one to long for the top, he was happy being a middle man and helped young Marines come in and learn with them. He was happy to serve all over the world and enjoyed it. The times he was back he spend in Texas and few trips back home. Over the years he met "Sam" when he joined the same squad a few years after himself. They soon became close and were always at each others side.

Donny and "Sam" always were with each other and had each others backs, best friends in ways the most you can during the time they shared. He got close to "Same" and they did have a time they hooked up out of needing someone to be close too, this being only a few years after they met. But it never went past that again. But in 2019 they were out on a drive when they got hit by IED and it was bad everyone was hit hard in the squad many lost their lives right away. Donny took hard hit and was knocked out and his leg was hurt badly, to the point it was nearly off his body. His team did the best they can to help him, but with how hurt everyone was and the time it took to help it caused more damage. Once at the hospital they spent a few weeks trying to save his leg and almost got it back before clot came in and almost took Donny’s life and they had to take off his leg below the knee to save him. It was hard on Donny he knew what he wanted to for life was over. He got sent to recover in the hospital in hospital in New York and after spent a few months there a bit lost on what to do with his life .He ended up going to visit home and saw Cedar Grill And Lounge for sale when he took the chance and bought it. He got to live in the apartment above the bar and is happy. He likes to be close so he’s able to rest his leg and body when needed. He became a very homebody type of guy who was always at home when he wasn’t at at bar. He’s happy and tends to stay away from his family as much as he could.

Donny still struggles with his PTSD A lot and is trying to work on himself, but it's very hard on him. Every time he feels like he's getting life on track and feeling normal again something sets him back. He goes to therapy and groups weekly to try and control his feelings and thoughts He very close to his service dog Honey who is always at his side and can always make him very happy. He has his ups and downs good days bad days, even times for weeks he's feeling and doing great. But after a bad storm his town it set Donny back badly and he went to the hospital to be the Psychiatric ward for two weeks. It was hard on him but was good for him. He had been out a few months now and was feeling better, doing better but he still has his moments.

Chapter 2. Prim and Proper

"Vernon Montecillo may be a member of the prominent Montecillo clan, however, he doesn't get the same respect given to his siblings. Aside from being the son of a mistress, he is considered the black sheep of the family. The rebellious son who is not afraid to break the family's overbearing tradition and does not give a single shit to his clan's deteriorating reputation. He is a notorious lothario but a loving father to his nine kids from five different women."

Tanya's a lifestyle journalist, a very close family friend and Vernon's ex-wife.

Also, the mother of Dallas Montecillo.

"Baka mablacklist ka lalo ng pamilya," sabi ni Deniece. "But I like it. It's funny."

"Vernon doesn't even care about his own family," Tanya chuckled. "Sa tingin mo may paki ako? But maybe I'll remove the last part. Baka masira image niya."

Nagtawanan ang dalawa.

"Anyway, tell Vernon I'll send him the final draft tomorrow. Dumaan lang ako to check if Dallas is here."

Nagulat si Deniece, "We haven't seen him in a while."

"Unbelievable," napailing si Tanya. "Hindi ko alam kung saan nagpupupunta ang batang iyon."

"Baka nagtatago sa'yo," narinig nilang tudyo ni Vernon mula sa likod. "Binabantayan mo kasi masyado."

"Paanong 'di ko babantayan? Puro na lang barkada inaatupag," Tanya complained.

"He's young," tila balewalang sabi ni Vernon. "Nag-eenjoy lang iyon."

Tanya rolled her eyes pero hindi na nagsalita pa.

"Mabait si Dallas. Hindi iyon gagawa ng kalokohan," pag-aalo ni Deniece. "Mamaya ka na umalis. Mag lunch muna tayo."

"Aunt Tanya, long time no see," masayang bati ni Sophia kay Tanya.

"Hi, Sophie," Tanya gave her a hug. "How's school?"

"Okay naman po. Are you going to celebrate Christmas here in Manila?"

Tanya lives in Quezon with her family pero may bahay ang mga ito sa Alabang kung saan nakatira si Tanya tuwing may trabaho sa Maynila at madalas doon nagpapasko ang pamilya.

"Yes, of course. You're free to visit whenever you want," sabi ni Tanya. "I'll prepare your favorite Lasagna."

Natuwa si Sophia dahil bukod sa paborito niya ang Lasagna, she would see Jade, Tanya's daughter. Close sila ni Jade at madalas mag-usap sa telepono kahit pa madalang silang magkita sa personal.

Maya-maya pa ay dumating na rin ang mga kapatid ni Sophia. Hanna and Diana sat beside her habang katabi naman ni Tanya si Verniece, her seven year old sister and Donny, ang bunso, who is three years old. Huling dumating si Dio, Diana's twin brother at Vegas, her third older brother.

"Dad, I made my decision. Dito na lang ako sa Pinas mag-aaral ng college," sabi ni Dio. "Siguro masteral na lang sa ibang bansa. I think it will be good for our company na magkaroon ako ng connection sa local business world."

"Smart choice," Vernon said. "Pero kahit naman anong gusto mo, suportado kita. You should enjoy your college too. How about you, Diana? Any plans after graduation?"

Napatigil sa pagkain si Diana. She has not thought about college. Pagkatapos ng mga nangyari, she was just lucky to be alive and wants to spend time with her family.

"I think you should postpone college for a while," sabat ni Deniece. "Take a gap year and enjoy travelling."

"I agree," sang-ayon ni Vernon. "You don't have to think about college now if you're not yet ready. No pressure."

"Salamat po," Diana replied. "I'll let you know. Ayaw ko rin naman pong magsayang ng oras."

"Why don't you take a vacation at our house in Quezon? I'm going this monday. Sumabay ka na sa akin. Babalik tayo bago magpasko. You haven't visited your grandparents in a while."

"Can I go?" excited na tanong ni Diana kay Vernon at Deniece.

"Of course, you can," nakangiting sagot ni Deniece.

"You can all come," sabi pa ni Tanya. "Malaki ang bahay."

"May duty ako till 23," sabi ni Hannah. "I'll go next time."

"You have to. Hindi ka pa nakakapunta sa amin. Kung gusto mo sa summer."

"I can't come. May tatapusin akong project," sabi naman ni Vegas. "Next time na lang, tita."

"Sana nga project yan," biro ni Tanya. "Aasahan ko yang next time mo. Dio?"

"No, thank you," Dio chuckled. "I learned my lesson, tita. Sa Alabang na lang ako bibisita."

Tanya remembered the last time Dio went to visit his grandparents. It was a family reunion. The twins didn't have a good time at nagpasundo agad. Dio promised never to set his feet on his mom's family house again.

Tanya is Diana and Dio's biological aunt and the older sister of their real mom.

"Sophie?" Tanya turned to Sophia.

"Pwede ba, mom, dad?" she asked her parents. "Promise, I'll behave."

"Okay," Deniece smiled. "I think you deserve a break too."

"How about Verniece and Donny?" Tanya turned to the kids. "Do you, guys want to visit my house?"

"Not without my mommy," Verniece said laughing.

"No!" umiiling namang sagot ni Donny.

"I miss having little kids," Tanya sighed. "They want to be with you all the time. I barely see Dallas nowadays. Jade is too busy with her studies and Marquis, I have no idea what made him want to enter the seminary."

Marquis is Joel, Tanya's current husband's nephew. The couple took him in when his parents died in a car crash.

"Magpapari si Marquis?" gulat na tanong ni Vernon.

Tanya nodded, "Kinausap kami ni father Jude last week. Desidido raw talaga."

"Hindi mo ba siya pipigilan, Sophie?" Vegas asked.

Everyone turned to her, amused.

"Excuse me?" even Sophia was surprised sa tanong ng kuya.

"Di ba crush mo iyon?" dagdag pa nito.

Tuluyan nang natawa ang lahat.

"Fyi, 'di ko crush iyon! Si ate Hannah may crush doon," she quickly said.

Hannah couldn't stop laughing, "Excuse me, who asked him to be her prom partner? Hindi ba ikaw?"

"I only asked him para makaganti sayo because my friend Yeshua asked you to be his partner instead of me. Sabi mo pa cute si Marquis."

Lalong natawa si Hannah, "First of all, your little friend Yeshua was nine years old while I was seventeen. And I find Marquis cute the same way na nacucutean ako sa puppy. No offense, aunt Tanya."

"You better hurry, guys, if you like Marquis. I'll support you," Tanya said.

"Magagalit si God kapag pinigilan natin siyang mag pari," biro ni Sophia bago muling bumaling kay Hannah. "Yeshua's fourteen now. Maybe you want to date him."

"No, thank you," Hannah quickly said. "Magpari na rin siya."

Nagtawanan ang lahat.

"Excuse me, sir Vernon," nagulat ang lahat nang patakbong nagtungo sa kusina ang hardinero. "May mga pulis po sa labas."

"Bakit raw?" kahit si Vernon ay nagulat. "Let them in."

Nagkatinginan ang lahat. Sophia thought of Kieran. Baka naman may ginagawa itong kalokohan. Kahit naman matino ang kuya, he's surrounded by gangster and rebels.

"Magandang tanghali, Mr. Vernon Montecillo. Pasensya na sa abala," bati ng matandang police na hula ni Sophia ay chief.

"Magandang tanghali, sir," bati rin ni Vernon. "Anong maipaglilingkod namin sa inyo?"

"May kaunting tanong lang sana kami sa anak mo."

Halatang kinabahan ang mga magulang.

"Kay Sophia Rafaela Montecillo."

Hindi makapaniwala si Sophia na siya ang sadya ng mga police. Kahit wala naman siyang natatandaang ginawa, kinabahan pa rin siya. Huhulihin kaya siya ng mga ito?

"It's okay, Sophie. Kung wala kang kasalanan, wala kang dapat ikatakot. Just answer their questions."

Hindi pumayag si Vernon na hindi ito kasama habang tinatanong siya ng mga police sa sala.

"Kilala mo si Primrose Nepomuceno, hindi ba?" bungad na tanong ng police.

"Opo, kaklase ko po," sagot ni Sophia.

"Alam mo bang hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin siya umuuwi. Alam mo ba kung nasaan siya?"

"I have no idea, sir."

"Kailan mo siya huling nakita?"

Saglit na nag-isip si Sophia, "Last day of class. Sa classroom. Bago ako umuwi, nakita ko siyang nag-aayos ng gamit."

"Kinausap ka ba niya?" interesadong tanong ng batang pulis.

Umiling si Sophia, "Our driver was waiting for me kaya nagmamadali akong umuwi."

"Bukod sa kanya, may iba pa bang tao sa classroom?"

"Yes. My friends," huli na bago marealize ni Sophia ang sinabi. Baka madamay pa ang mga barkada niya. Pero kung wala namang kinalaman ang mga ito, they don't need to be scared.

Nagkatinginan ang dalawang police.

"Pwede mo bang isulat ang mga pangalan nila?"

Naguguluhang tumango si Sophia.

Tapos nang kumain ang lahat at halatang hinihintay na lang si Sophia at Vernon. Sumunod naman agad ang ama makalipas ang ilang minuto.

"Dad, suspect ba ako?" hindi napigilang tanong ni Sophia.

"Of course not," sagot ni Vernon. "They just need to clarify things. Isa pa, hindi lang pala ang diary ang basehan nila."

"What do you mean?"

"May nagsabi na hindi nga raw kayo magkasundo and based on that girl story, you hate Primrose enough para pagdudahan ka nila," Vernon looked pissed.

"Who?" lalong nagulat si Sophia.

– first and foremost... i WANT to write about "The Move" so bad... especially because. well. to spoil it. "The Move" is around when the pachyderms' album 01202001 comes out and the guys move upstate because. well they're getting older and they have a bit of pocket change from their other albums so, as much as it troubles prince to move away from his family (even farther), it's supposed to be a good thing for all of them. especially because they can finally have a House, not just an apartment, so they have the space for ALL of their creative endeavors. and they can get some dogs!!! which:

– speaking of sissies!!! that bottom right corner!!! i mentioned dee's sisters and their (also) city names in that last post but. you're making me want to develop them all more!!! partly because i wanna think of how they've all affected dee. like the full picture in the bottom right is a stand in for dee with his sister cheyenne, the one that's theee years older than him, and she's the one he's closest to (meanwhile she's kind of the bridge between him and their older sisters). and the only other solid thing is aurora, the second eldest, is like. weird eccentric/eclectic, probably an artist just like dee is... well other than the solid thing of it being interesting to contrast dee versus prince with their sisters since. though both the only boys, dee is the youngest sibling, and younger than the oldest (helena) by 8 years, meanwhile prince is older than his (half) sisters, ava by 14 years and eileen by 16. and the contrast of dee being the youngest AND only boy ergo he wants to be included in his sisters' things whenever they let him in on the sister pact; conversely, prince was questionable about having siblings when his mom got pregnant with ava (understandably so because he was the only child for 14 years, 10 of which his mom was single so it was just the pair of them) then slowly growing to love the sissies greatly...

both of them (no offense to Wes) eat me regularly so by all means ask more questions about them!!!

okay about DONNY... what can i NOT tell you about him... he's my squimchy blorbo of the universe, i cannot help it... but if i had to go ONE thing... hmmm... i guess i haven't shared much about him being a filmmaker wannabe who does freelance writing stuff... like he has a bachelors in media arts and a masters in documentary media (since documentaries are his big dream) but between graduation and becoming a stay at home dad he's just doing freelance stuff and all that because he can't make his way out to hollywood to actually kickstart anything (homesick at space camp by fall out boy starts playing)... and he still doesn't really get to do much by way of documentation— except for one random little alternate universe snippet i wrote a while ago...

L’uscita sarà accompagnata dal singolo Betty Page, feat. Cesko from Après La Classe, collaborazione

particolarmente sentita dato il legame tra le due band. I Rekkiabilly hanno infatti aperto i loro concerti

ad inizio carriera, avendo avuto così la possibilità di esibirsi nei loro primi grandi palchi e festival.

Fondati nel 2005 dal chitarrista e cantante Dario Mattoni e dalla sassofonista Lidia Bitetti, i

Rekkiabilly avevano inizialmente l’assetto tipico del quintetto swing/rockabilly e oggi hanno

rafforzato il proprio sound accogliendo una sezione fiati esplosiva composta da due trombe, sax

baritono, sax tenore e trombone.

Negli anni, hanno condiviso il palco con artisti del calibro di Jon Spencer, Après la Classe, Giuliano

Palma & the Bluebeaters, NewYork Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Vinicio Capossela, Max Gazzè, Banda

Bardò, Punkreas, Michele Zarrillo, Arisa e molti altri.

Hanno inoltre partecipato a numerosi festival europei, tra cui Micca Club (Roma), Bloom (Milano),

E’ stato pubblicato il 7 Marzo 2024, su tutte le piattaforme digitali, in cd ed in vinile, il nuovo album dei

Rekkiabilly: Spaghetti Jive.

L’album vede l’alternarsi di diversi generi tra swing, bossa nova e rockabilly, il tutto accompagnato da

una spiccata ironia senza filtri, dal sapore mediterraneo. Il sound del disco richiama lo stile del

rock’n’roll made in Italy, che si affaccia alle sonorità americane degli anni ‘50 e ‘60, coniando un nuovo

sound, lo Swing-Punk.

L’uscita sarà accompagnata dal singolo Betty Page, feat. Cesko from Après La Classe, collaborazione

particolarmente sentita dato il legame tra le due band. I Rekkiabilly hanno infatti aperto i loro concerti

ad inizio carriera, avendo avuto così la possibilità di esibirsi nei loro primi grandi palchi e festival.

Fondati nel 2005 dal chitarrista e cantante Dario Mattoni e dalla sassofonista Lidia Bitetti, i

Rekkiabilly avevano inizialmente l’assetto tipico del quintetto swing/rockabilly e oggi hanno

rafforzato il proprio sound accogliendo una sezione fiati esplosiva composta da due trombe, sax

baritono, sax tenore e trombone.

Negli anni, hanno condiviso il palco con artisti del calibro di Jon Spencer, Après la Classe, Giuliano

Palma & the Bluebeaters, NewYork Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Vinicio Capossela, Max Gazzè, Banda

Bardò, Punkreas, Michele Zarrillo, Arisa e molti altri.

Hanno inoltre partecipato a numerosi festival europei, tra cui Micca Club (Roma), Bloom (Milano),

White Trash e Road Runner (Berlino), Sean McD’s (Dublino), Kaf Fur Dik (Zurigo), Gipsyland, DB

What’s your most favorite Louis moment that remembering it fills your heart with love and light?

Oh my god anon… ummm, I don’t know if you were thinking general but I’m gonna go with my personal highlights with Louis.

I think number one was in Donny, @ialwaysknewyouwerepunk and I were in an insanely good mood, and because we’re both very active dancers, we had quite some space around us after the first couple songs, and even though we were maybe sixth row, we had stellar view bc the literal gym the show was held was so tiny.

So, here we stood, feeling ourselves and going nuts for Louis, celebrating Michael’s solos and very obnoxiously made a show of us knowing all the words to 7 and Beautiful War lol, which Louis very much appreciated (he’d pointed me & my energy for his music out before at other gigs, so he might have recognised the lunatics going absolutely batshit crazy) but then - he sang Change. And like. I was mostly at the gigs of the first half of the tour, so I’ve only ever heard it once or twice live before and just hadn’t come around to properly learning the lyrics. So we had just gone absolutely crazy, making a show of it, too, and then we kind of… awkwardly hummed along to change. Like, don’t get me wrong, we were enthusiastic about it, but we literally simply didn’t know the words apart from the chorus lmao so we went from jumping scream-singing to awkwardly swaying and desperately trying to get out from under Louis’ gaze because - of course he was watching us. And he kept singing and we kept awkwardly swaying and mumbling the words looking all about this gym to the point that Louis was so amused he laughed about us, even drew michael’s attention to us to cheekily make fun of us. But it was just so pure. And we really did bring it onto ourselves. After that, we went crazy again and Michael actually threw his pick specifically to me after his solo as a thank you, in the middle of the gig - so I think we’re good. I really will never forget that, it was such camaraderie, loving teasing and it was just so much fun.

I think second favourite was Denver, because I had Center barricade and the whole show was completely different than expected but because it was the one show Louis was pissed off, it just was - let me explain. I was absolutely delighted to be Center barricade, but the moment Louis stepped onto stage, I knew something was wrong. And he was really upset (was it the teeny fans singing 1D songs in front of his tour bus while he was trying to sleep? Was it smth BTS? Idk) but to make matters worse within the first minute someone threw the infamous chicken nugget which hit him in the head. So he was proper pissed off, spent the first third of the show singing basically with his eyes closed. And I just - I didn’t know what to do? He was so close? And I wanted to comfort so badly, know what’s wrong, tell him everything will be alright. Slowly, he opened his eyes more and more and sought out contact with us fans at barricade, and it felt like he found what he was looking for, drawing from us and our support and opening up and relaxing. It was beautiful. I had the most emotional intense connection to him that show. Funny how the universe forces me to enjoy these moments, I basically have the barricade curse of my phone alerting to full storage as soon as I’ve taken two videos at barricade lol. But yeah. Will cherish that show forever although it scared the crap out of me.

Third is probably him leaning over me in London and screaming Little Black Dress at each other and that fucking smirk. Yes.

Or when he came out after the show in Dallas and we briefly talked, with not too many people around, bc they all thought he’d come out a different exit. Was amazing. He’s exactly my height but all I could think was that he’s got a whole lot less body than me lmao but that he’s also got an authority that makes him feel incredibly large.
