Loki & pregnancy headcannon!
+ Sigyn & Angrboda :3
These are not to made to invalidate anyone by the way! They're just my own headcannons based on what I've heard and been taught.✹
As we all know Loki experienced pregnancy in his earlier years (its cannon lore according to frigg in the lokasenna) and personally I think they all gave him bad experiences.
Not only were all of them unplanned and he often had to deliver alone without support, but he also felt helpless and regretful in the aftermath.
This caused him to not be able to bond with for example Sleipnir and ended up giving him away to a place he knew he would be cared for, eventually serving a great purpose which he is very proud of, I can imagine!!
Like many moms, motherhood isn't all sunshine and rainbows and it was just too overwhelming for him. He just wasn't ready! That doesn't mean he didn't love any of his children though and he wishes he did better!
Despite the negative aspects Loki likes to focus on the good parts of it at least!
Like the fact his children were all healthy and they both survived the whole ordeal. Also the fact he became very helpful and sympathetic to Angrboda and Sigyn once they'd carry their children.
He always knew what to do during their pregnancies basing it off his own experience.
Like what to eat, how to care for them, ect! Heck, he even knew how to make childbirth a little more comfortable and easier.
He understands their pain and will go out of his way to make their experience to be a lot better than his own. He was always so worried about the endless possibilities that could go wrong! But luckily it all worked out.
Fun little extra! Loki is actually very uncomfortable with pregnancy and baby bumps, but overtime has warmed up to it enough to be affectionate with his wives. Though he prefers to not get too close, he doesn't like when the babies move and he is afraid to hurt them somehow! 😭

Instead of doing immediately-useful things, my evening's been spent using my 1950s Welsh dictionary to try and work out what the month words mean
Not all of them do, Ebrill is just April
And actually idk what April is from either, maybe I should get my 70s English dictionary out next
But uhhh a bit of a list?
I couldn't find anything for January/Ionawr, except that ion is Lord
Mawrth/March is after Mars, the god
Mai just says May, but there's a listing above that says "mai - that it is"
Gorffennaf/July - gorffen is "end", so gorffen af, gorffen haf, "end of the summer"??
Medi/September - medi is "to reap" - harvest month!
Hydref/October - autumn!
The closest I got to December, Rhagfyr is rhagof, "before thee" - the. The one before January?? Idk my Welsh isn't good enough I can speculate on centuries-old word mutations
Days of the week, I had a look for too
They're mostly named for gods, same as the English ones
Tuesday/Mawrth, Mars (same as March) - in English this is for Tyr
Wednesday/Mercher, Mercury - in English this is for Odin, Woden's Day - the Welsh is cognate (???) with Romance languages tho, like Mercredi an such
Thursday/Iau, Jove or Jupiter - in English this is for Thor
Friday/Gwener, Venus - in English this is for Frigg
Saturday/Sadwrn, Saturn (same in English)
I haven't a listing for Sul/Sunday tho
Monday, tho, idk if this is the right root, doubt it, but Llun is "shape" "figure" or "form"
I've looked up them on Wikipedia, and that says that all these Norse gods in the Welsh are associated with the Roman gods the English ones are named for, which is interesting
Idk how much this is cs the book I'm looking at is 73 years old, but y'know
It's not quite exact, I spose
Like, Friday/Gwener is for Frigg (goddess of marriage), or Venus (goddess of love)
Tuesday is for Tyr (god of single combat) or Mars (god of war)
Thursday, Jove/Jupiter (sky and thunder), or Thor (thunder etc) - this one matches!
Wednesday doesn't quite tho, Mercury is a messenger, god of trade, and Odin is like wisdom and battle, so far as I can tell
This is not really very interesting, unless you like etymology
I'm gonna track down my English dictionary to find out what the English months etymologies are now, cs that's like. Super useful.

that moment, when you come across a new kdrama called "Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard" (2024) while still healing from the unhealthy amount of (b)romance that you've been subjected to in "Black Out - Snow White Must Die" (2024), and think to yourself "Why not try to distract yourself from NohGoh by immersing yourself into a new Series?".
And there definitely would be no problem at all with it, because
"Seo Dong Jae is a prosecutor and works in the Cheongju District Prosecutors’ Office. He is ambitious and places a priority on his success as a prosecutor. Nevertheless, he is not completely cold hearted as a person. Due to the label given to him as a corrupt prosecutor, his future as a prosecutor is not bright at all. While mired in trouble over a redevelopment case, he takes on a high school student murder case. He begins to walk a fine line between his intuition as a prosecutor and instinct as an opportunist."
because no second character was mentioned in the synopsis,
because who the hell would you even ship with that slippery eel.
And to be honest: I did enjoy the first two episodes. But.....
I don't know if it's just me.
But,
I don't know if it is just my imagination.
But,
dear producers, dear director, dear cast; WHAT THE FRIGG IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why do you have to threaten him from less than 20 cm away? I did not sign up for intimate threats. I want a full out rivalry. With lots of hate. Not whatever that is.
Tumblr media
Let him drive off in peace, for f*cks sake. I don't want this half-assed kabedon shit.
Tumblr media
And no, he doesn't shove dear Dong Jae off him, he gently places his hand on his chest. He. Gently. Places. And. Then. PATS. HIS. CHEST.
Park Sung Woong, I don't know whether to love or hate you. Because I expected this:
Tumblr media
And instead I get this certain vibe:
Tumblr media
SO NO. I'M ALREADY LOSING ENOUGH SLEEP OVER NSC AND GJW, I DON'T NEED ANOTHER PAIR MAKING MY LIFE MISERABLE.
.....

Abel, The Pious Adventurer
Hmmm...so you guys picked thr most plot important character who I can't say much about due to spoilers.
Spoilers that I...will probably never show because...he's not really going to be in any official material of mine.
...eh.
Tumblr media
Basics
Abel is a mysterious person who seems to have some sort of connection with the world of shadows, as well as the personas that the party wields. They claim to have been "reborn" a few years ago, which aligns with a devastating event that created the shadow world, The Dark Garden.
He wants to understand and support humanity and seems to not understand the new modern world. Still, he makes extreme efforts to fit in with the other people around him.
While he does not like violence and actively seems to want to stop you from committing acts of violence, he eventually decides to fight with you in order to defeat the shadows.
Outside of The Dark Garden, he can still use his abilities, which is something no other character can do.
Personality
Abel is a very kind, curious, and trusting person, believing in the power of humanity and peace. He loves everything about the new world (except the bad stuff) and is extremely empathetic and compassionate, almost to a fault.
He is very emotional. That combined with his compassion, trusting nature (which to many is seen as gullibility) and curiosity tend to lead hik down odd paths. He may not know a lot about this new world, or himself, but he's determined to help others.
Combat
His persona doesn't exactly take shape early on into the story, but eventually it does.
I'm not entirely sure what to make his persona yet.
I was thinking either Baldur from Norse Methology or John the Savage from the Brave New World.
Baldur was an Aesir and the son of Frigg. She dreamed that he would die, and to avoid this, made every object swear to not hurt Baldur. Except mistletoe, which Loki used to kill him by crafting a spear(or arrow) out of it. He is prophesied to return someday after Ragnarok.
John is a character from Brave New World. He is a part of a group of people living in a place known as The Savage Reservation, where people who do are jot a part of the titular new world are from.He is taken to the new world by the main character Bernand. Unfortunately, he rejects society's values and prefers to live as people did in older times, which eventually leads him to be both shunned and dehumanizing, leading to his suicide.
As a party member, he specializes in
High speed and endurance, with lower strike damage from fists/gauntlets.
Wind spells.
Recovery magic, including healing and status recovery.
Confusion and Forget status ailments
Defense debuffs.
Good almighty damage??
He is strong against wind, ice and light attacks. He is the only member of the party to be weak to a physical element, that being strike damage.
Arcana and Story Arc
Abel is the Star. He is wandering through a world that is unfamiliar to him, a world that is dangerous and often threatening, with hope. He is constantly being treated as a nuisance and a fool by those who don't know him, but his positivity and faith never wavers.
He eventually decides to attend a church, has a pleasant enough time, and wishes to be as kind and caring as the good people in the Bible were... but suddenly stopped going after getting to a certain section. Plus, the people have been using the holy word for somewhat nefarious purposes; to put fear into the hearts of the people and to shun others, which he dislikes.

I find it so fascinating that Odin is the textbook definition of "you better educate yourself, but never too much".
He spends the first half of the cycle willing to do basically everything and anything just to Know More Things! Learn All The Things! I need to impale myself and hang myself upside down from the world tree for nine days in order to learn my letters? YOU BETCHA COMING RIGHT UP!!! I would literally rather be half-blind than pass up an opportunity to Know Things!!!
And dude honestly same.
But then something changes. And there's a part of that which comes from Frigg, but a lot of it is himself.
He learns too much.
Potentially, it's when he learns about his son's foretold death, or Ragnarok in general. And when he hears about these things, he can't help but panic. After all, he's the All father. What kind of father would he be if he can't protect his own son from a threat he can see coming? And the worst part is, as he scrambles to make use of the knowledge he's been given, he's only setting what he has learned in deeper stone. If he'd never known of Ragnarok, he never would've bound Loki and their children, and Ragnarok might not have even happened. Well, that's not the case. Ragnarok is inevitable. But the point remains.
All his efforts to stop what he knew was coming were completely futile.
I wonder if he regrets learning. I would.
Beyond that, though, he both knows too much, and not enough. In his desperation to protect everything he knows and loves, he lashes out and hurts others, and doesn't stop to ponder if it would be better to permanently tie up Loki's son with an invincible cord, or if he could just tell all the Asgardians to quit throwing random shit at Baldr.
One of those options would've been helpful. So perhaps it's not that he knew too much, but that he misused the knowledge he did receive.
Either way, knowledge is not innocent. It's heavy, and it's baffling. It reminds me of something Fredrick Douglass mentioned in his book. I don't remember the actual quote, but the sentiment expressed is that sometimes, Fredrick regretted learning to read. He half-wished he never had, especially while he was still in bondage, because now that he had that education, he was able to understand the full extent to which his situation sucked, and that's always a hard place to be in. That's really tough, and it's very discouraging. You know how bad everything is, but it's much harder to know what you should do about it.
But, on the other hand, realizing you're in a really bad place is the first step to getting out of it.
Knowledge is heavy. It's a big responsibility. And it's not for the faint of heart. Odin thought he could handle knowing All The Things, but when you don't know what you don't know, you don't know how heavy the knowing can be. You can't concieve of it until you learn, and then it's too late.
We're all on a learning curve though, and sometimes we'll handle information badly. Sometimes we'll hurt others because you don't know how to handle the truth we've uncovered. Sometimes the truth is a terrible thing.
But it's up to you to decide whether it's worth knowing.

asura (and asura-adjacent): most likely to accidentally blow something important up and most likely to bite someone
Explosions:
1. Aerana: The signpost example of a dynamics student. If it hasn't exploded five times you're not done tinkering.
2. Jazz: Very Dynamics Alchemist. Only deserves this place if you consider blowing up yourself to be blowing up someone important.
3. Vorpp Jr.: Prone to mishaps and people don't pay attention to him so he ends up in lot of volatile spaces
4. Frigg: You wouldn't believe how many traps this man has set off.
5. Posh: Works with very experimental weapons, but is careful with tests.
6. Kelii: As a medic she usually unsplodes people, but also her idea of a defibrilator is an angry air elemental in a jar
7. Zorgg: He'd have the temper to be inconsiderade around volatile materials but simpy doesn't get the chance to.
8. Gekk: You expect "I plan everything weeks if not months in advance" Gekk to be involved in accidents? Only second to last because he might cause an explosion through one of his more impulsive underlings.
9. Doss: Very Statics Alchemist. If there is an explosion it is guaranteed to be intentional and away from anything important.
---
Biting
1. Zorgg: His best friend is an armored behemoth and a bad influence.
2. Jazz: Guy once transformed into a shark headed Ettin. Did enough biting to last for a lifetime.
3. Frigg: Once you spend enough time bonded with a devourer you just start to nibble on people.
4. Gekk: Loves to fight dirty and hates losing.
5. Doss: Only if cornered.
6. Vorpp Jr., Kelii, Posh: These all prefer to stay out of biting range
7. Aerana: She gets sick from seeing blood. I think tasting it would kill her instantly.

I'm sorry- but this will turn into a rant.
i dont like hating on the media we do get but she would probably do something similar to ''Loki, Lord of Chaos'' by Carolyn Fallon and randomize all the characters, personalities, relationships and stories just to do something thats different. Which isn't fresh and new, it's infuriating when you could have done SO MUCH BETTER WITH YOUR SOURCES! Like actually no kidding.
Also please don't send any hate to this person by the way, it won't change anything and this is just my rant and how I see the characters she depicted! 😭
Basically to sum up the main cast:
They made Loki this powerful and masculine man. Who is secretly in love with Sif but cant control his rage and the powers, so he is super missunderstood. đŸ–€đŸ„€â›“ïžđŸ”ȘđŸ©ž
Sif, this small little woman, who is so precious and a fertility goddess (basically Persephone but skinny legend) and she loves Loki, but is forced to marry Thor until Loki saves her đŸ„șđŸ©·đŸ’
Sigyn, the side chick that is in love with Loki, but will never have him because he doesn't like her. BUT- She still sticks around, making her look desperate and sad because she gave everything to Loki, tragic girlie. 😔💔
Frigg is basically obsessed with her son, wanting him to stay with her and traumatized because of child loss. Which ironically enough I think they captured pretty well! She's the only one who gets a gold star in this series ⭐
Thor, an abusive asshole, who is a ladies man, basically Apollo 2.0 because of course they'd paint him that way......đŸ«
Fenrir a badass girl who is wild, with a tragic backstory of her being abandoned by her parents because she was a wolf. And she is in love with Tyr when she went to asgard, but she also gets betrayed oh no! đŸ„€đŸ–€đŸ˜”
Hel, a giantess who goes to the gods, agrees to marry Thor only for loki to accidentally hurt and ruin her apperance and now everyone things shes UGLYY! But when she meets Baldr, who wants to stay dead to be with her, they're so happy yayyy!! 💀
They also keep introducing characters that don't even make it into the main story- what purpose do they serve, are they there to show you care or something?
Im bored, lets play a game
How do you think Rachel Smythe, creator of Lore Olympus would fuck up your country's mythology/gods if she did a lore olympus-esque webtoon of it?

☌ Sigyn
☌ - appearance headcanon
Overall, Sigyn obviously fills aspects of the "fairest of them all" trope. She's described as beautiful by many outside sources, not just the guy who's been in love with her for the past thousand years, and while I don't describe her beauty in detail, the way other characters treat her for good or ill does inform that. Usually, it informs how others treat her as a trophy or put her on a pedistal, including Loki and Thor. Loki wraps her up in the "things Thor will get that I won't" category, and Thor sees the damsel in distress that constantly needs saving. The only two characters that aren't informed by this are Heimdall and Mobius-- Heimdall because he still sees the little girl the queen gave him in the garden, and Mobius because his arc is centered around finding the shared personhood in the Variants that he'd been dehumanizing for thousands of years. I took the trope from the myths, but from different characters-- Sif, Thor's mythological wife, and Freya, who is one of the Vanir and sometimes also Frigg/Frigga (the literature on this is speculative, but Freya and Frigg might have been aspects of the same goddess at some point, don't quote me on that though). Lady Sif in the MCU doesn't quite serve that function in the same way, even with token gestures towards the myths like Loki cutting off her hair while she's asleep. Not that Jaime Alexander isn't beautiful, but her character serves a different role.
I emphasize often that Sigyn has "golden hair", and very rarely simply call her "blonde", because it's more than that. Sigyn is strongly associated with the color gold and I'm very deliberate in how I use the color in the story. Things associated with Sigyn are colored gold, and things associated with the throne, the crown, and Asgard are also colored gold. Tying her fate to that of Asgard's was in the process right from the beginning. What's more, I don't even describe as gold things that are gold in canon-- Loki's helm, for instance, is "horned", not golden, and I never mention the gold accents in his armor. Sylvie's hair is described as "fair", suggesting it's an even lighter blonde than Sigyn's, closer in color to her Uncle Thor's hair, which I don't describe at all.
One thing that I unintentionally deemphasized was that her eyes are naturally a very dark brown. It was unintentional, as I said, but I like her having them. Then later, of course, when her father's seal on the Bifrost is broken, her eyes changed to the iridescent color of the Bifrost. One of the things TVA Loki misses is the color of her eyes. But it's only due to the magic, when she's in the TVA, her eyes go back to normal.
But, of course, you're probably looking for casting choices. ^_^
Freema Agyeman
Tumblr media
Best known for her role as Dr. Martha Jones on Doctor Who, Agymen would have been one of the more likely choices (of the people I like for Sig) given how they cast the rest of Thor. The cast of Thor is about half-and-half unknowns and major stars, paring relative unknown Chris Hemsworth with major star Natalie Portman. Sigyn wouldn't be the leading lady, so there wouldn't be as much need to cast a name in this role. I like her for the role because of how she played Martha-- smart, determined, sarcastic.
Jennifer Connelly
Tumblr media
Not to recast the MCU (Connelly was the voice of Karen in Homecoming and Betty Ross in the Ang Lee Hulk), but if I had to cast a name, Connelly would be on the top of the list. I feel like she fits best with Dark World Sigyn-- she had the gravitas to go up against the likes of David Bowie and Timothy Dalton, Anthony Hopkins wouldn't be nothing.
Miranda Otto
Tumblr media
Definitely fits the wide-eyed ingénue we start with, and can handle the melodrama and the action at the same time. Closest actor I can think of to the comics look as well, which the MCU likes to do.
Naomi Harris
Tumblr media
Has an enormous range and more than enough screen presence to contend with Tom Hiddleston. I really like her as Moneypenny, and Tia Dalma she played to perfection.
Mira Furlan
Tumblr media
Falling under the "if I had infinite money and a time machine", Mira Furlan perfected the "Silk Hiding Steel" trope as Ambassador Delenn of Minbar, and has the intensity that the role would require. Plus, with JMS writing the first film, she would be very familiar with his writing and what he wants from his actors (intense fidelity to the script, interpretation of the words on the page allowed).
Mary Astor
Tumblr media
Definitely under the "if I had infinite money and a time machine". Mary Astor was a silent film star who transitioned to talkies after a bit and was one of the best-known femme fatales of the screen, Brigid O'Shaughnessy in The Maltese Falcon. The image I have here is from a promo shot of her from Don Juan (1926) with John Barrymore (who, yes, is related to Drew Barrymore). I was discussing her in the comments of Love, Duty and Glorious Purpose and I think what I said was: "She'd eat Tom Hiddleston for lunch, but he'd probably be okay with it."
Thank you for the ask!

A Flicker Of Green
Tumblr media
Can I request a Loki x Reader where Y/N loves Loki (and he doesn't know) but she is insecure and jealous of another girl who she thinks he likes (could be Sigyn, Amora, Darcy, or even an original character). So on Valentines day she gets all depressed when the other girl asks him out for a date. But little does Y/N know that Loki actually loves her too. How they end up confessing is up to you :) I hope this request wasn't annoyingly detailed or anything.Thank you!<3
Request By @vonaralaufeyson
Thank you for your lovely request!
Hope you like it :)
It was times like these you wished you’d have listened to your mother and kept a diary. Not to keep the memories you don’t want to forget but just to write down your feelings you couldn’t talk about with no one.
This thought made you snort. A diary? Yeah, sure and it would just go like,
Dear Diary,
It’s currently 2am and I’m lying in bed with nothing but the thoughts of him and I.
Or,
Dear Diary,
So there’s this guy
that doesn’t want to leave my mind. There’s this guy, who’s smile could make my whole day a lot better. There’s this guy who’s  eyes, green like emeralds keep me awake at night. There’s this guy, who I can’t stop dreaming about him. And every time I close my eyes it’s his face, his eyes and his beautiful damn smile I see. And this smile was just for me. Because it was me who made him smile. Me. I was able to do this. And I can’t wait to do this again. There’s this boy I crave to see again, because every conversation we ever had will never be enough to fill my satisfaction. And just the thought of him, is enough to keep me awake. And even though I know the chances we ever will be more than friends are low, in fact it’s even lower than low, I can’t let you go. Because of my hope. This damn hope.
Yeah
see. That would be pretty cheesy.
You let out a groan and buried your head deeper in to your pillow. This was bad. Real bed. And still, you couldn’t help but smile a little.
You were born into a rich, noble family. Your parents always worked close for and with the royal family. So it was only naturally you grew up alongside the princes of Asgard and it was your luck they both had gotten to like you, especially Loki. Because, if we’re being honest, life would be a bit harder, if the god of mischief would have a down on you. They’d help you escape from your Nanny and hide you somewhere in the garden or in their rooms, you would together steal food from the kitchen or play hide and seek in the garden, watch Loki do his mischief, laugh, cry together and comfort each other, when life’s or parents getting tough on you.
But the last couple of days you haven’t seen much of either of them so when you caught a glimpse of red and gold, in the hallway you couldn’t help but ignore your time schedule and follow the person, who you suspected to be Thor.
The outstanding warrior he was, Thor immediately noticed that he was being followed and stopped in his tracks, his stern face lit up when he saw you.
“Y/N! It’s so good to see you again! How have you been the last couple of days?”
You couldn’t help but smile brightly, a happy Thor was pretty contaminating. “You know, the usual. Trying to ditch my responsibilities, helping my parents to pack for their moving and missing you guys! What was going on?” You asked a little reproachfully and crossed your arms. Of course you wouldn’t be actually angry with them not having time for you, after all they have a whole kingdom to lead.
“My deepest apologies, Y/N, we were needed to help mother at the organizations for Day of Freya. You know how much she adored this festivity and the ball.” He suddenly realized what you had also mentioned and frowned confused. “Wait, what do you mean your parents’ moving? You wouldn’t mean the Midgardian moving now, do you? “
Thor’s smile faded at the thought of you going away to another planet for years, not being able to see you nearly every day. What would become of all the new adventures you, Thor and Loki always made together? They had always been more fun with his friends than with the kingdom’s knights.
You chuckled a little at Thor’s startled expression. “Don’t worry, I am allowed to stay here in Asgard and live with my aunt.”
“Oh, what a relief. I wouldn’t want to imagine royal life without you and neither what mess my brother would be without you here.”
You froze. What?
Thor let out a loud laugh at your puzzled expression and patted your shoulder lovingly, which only made you even more nervous somehow. “My friend
It is time to finally open those lovely eyes of yours because mine have already been a while now and believe when I say my suspicions of the affections between you and my dear brother haven’t gone unnoticed.”
With wide eyes and a burning face you stared back at the God of Thunder, utterly shocked. How could he even know? “You
I! Me and
What?”
Much to your annoyance and Thor’s amusement the right words wouldn’t want to come out of your mouth.
“Listen, you’re my best friend,” Thor said with a fond smile. “And a great person and even though I would say Loki could live a million lives and still wouldn’t deserve you
I know you would make each other happy. And when you’re happy, I’m happy. I would say it’s a win-win for all of us.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but the prince didn’t even give you the chance. “Between us, right now, Loki is in the ball room, probably pretending to do some work while trying to blow something up as usual
Good luck.” With a mischievous wink, that reminded you too much of a certain other prince he put his hands from your shoulder and went away, leaving you overstrained and stunned in the hallway.
As much as you loved Thor and his sometimes over motivated intentions, sometimes things changed a little too fast and too much.
Nevertheless, you decided to visit Loki in the ballroom, of course not for confessing your feelings. You just
missed him. Like, you hadn’t seen him in a while, right? And you had wanted to search for the brothers anyways.
You bit your lip, deciding if it actually was that good of an idea, but your desire to see him again, made your heart beat louder and your stomach flutter, so you gave in.
The day of Freya was already tomorrow thus the great hall was filled with servants and attendants who gathered all around to put the final touches to the already now stunning looking ballroom. You noticed the place where the food will be served tomorrow and made a mental note to memorize it, hopefully there will be Frigg pastries. Odin, the simply thought of this magnificent dessert

But even the thoughts of your favourite food didn’t stay a chance the moment you saw Loki.
He was sitting at the water fountain and just as Thor said (honestly it wasn’t a surprise anyway) he appeared to be focused in a book he was reading.
You squeezed you’re eyes in suspicion. Surely he wouldn’t be sitting here, in a room full of stressed out and loud people in order to read? You had the bad feeling something Loki-like would happen any sec-
Sudden loud shrieks and shouts from the west side of the hall had you dead in the tracks. You whirled around to see what was going on only to have your suspicions confirmed. The place where just moments ago gold garland had embellished the wall, were now snakes either hanging around or crawling on the floor.
You turned around again to Loki, who hadn’t moved even a little and was still reading his book. His only reaction to the scenario was the hint of a satisfied smirk on his lips.
Shaking your head, you continued your way towards him, trying not to disturb any of the servants or get crashed by one in the new panic.
“This poor people have already enough stress don’t you think, your majesty?”
Loki looked up and as usual your heart stopped for a second the moment his eyes met yours. You tried to hide your nervousness with a grin which he responded with a sly smirk.
“Maybe. But I am bored.”
You sat down next to him at the fountain and gave him a stern look.
Usually you loved his pranks and mischief but if any of his actions endangered the serving of Frigg pastries the game’s over.
As if he just read your mind Loki rolled his eyes and watched you in amusement. “You need to stop worrying about the food, love, I would never put my life in danger by risking to harm your pastries. Which I’m sure would be served nevertheless.”
You couldn’t help yourself but laughed a little. Sometimes it still surprised you how well he knew you.
Still, Loki lifted his hand and snapped his fingers. Immediately the snakes turned into dust, the garlands returned and the shouting calmed down – much to your relief.
You turned your head back to Loki only to find him already looking at you with a wary gaze.
You frowned. “Is something wrong?”
“I saw yours and your family’s name on mother’s mentioning list of the people who participate as volunteers to move to Midgard. I thought you said you wanted to stay?”
Was there
hurt in his voice?
Immediately you shook your head. “No, no! Well, actually yes, but not me! Well, my name, yes, but not- “you took a deep breath a little embarrassed and Loki’s amused grin didn’t help in the slightest ways to calm to nerves. “My parents are moving, yes. But I didn’t want to leave the poor kingdom to your mischief and was allowed to stay behind with my aunt.”
He chuckled. “Don’t pretend you don’t love to participate.”
To that you raised both your hands in defeat. “Alright, alright, you got me there.”
“But I’m actually glad you decided to stay, considering the opportunity Midgard could give.”
“Midgard doesn’t have you,” you replied without thinking and immediately got the urge to slap yourself in the face. Oh Odin

The prince tilted his head a little.
“I mean
I mean I would be bored to death down there.”
“So I am just the entertainment for you?” He teased, but you already went into panic mode and didn’t notice he was only joking.
“No! No, of course not! You’re my friend, but like more than a friend! Wait, no, I mean best friend! Not an entertainer, I mean, yes of course you are so hilarious, but also so intelligent and charming and it’s so easy and calming to talk with you and I love your compa-“
You stopped your rambling. “Why are you laughing?”
His eyes sparkled with joy. “My apologies, darling, I’m just glad we won’t lose your adorable voice for another while.”
He placed his hand on your cheek and your breath stopped.
“Besides even if you moved, no kingdom in the world could stop me from visiting you. Because believe or not, love- “he lowered his voice and bend down to your ear, giving you shivers. “I, as well, enjoy your company.”
At this time, you were sure, you weren’t functioning anymore.
He moved his head back a little, leaving not much space between your faces. Loki’s eyes flickered between yours and you noticed the small smile on his lips.
Your heart was pounding so loud you were afraid he could be able to hear it.
What mess my brother would be without you here
Thor’s words echoed in your head and a thought flashed your mind.
Could he
?
Only an inch, just an inch you moved closer, your eyes not leaving his

With his hand still on your cheek he pulled you even closer

You closed your eyes and-
“Prince Loki!”
Startled you opened your eyes and immediately jumped away.
A young woman was standing in front of you.
FreydĂs, if you remembered right.
She and her family were visiting Asgard for the Day of Freya and were close friends of queen Frigga.
“My apologies, am I interrupting something?” She asked with an excoriatingly gaze your way.
Freydís didn’t even bother to wait for an answer instead she put on a charming smile and took a deep breath. “Loki, it’s so good to see you again! I can’t wait to spend this time with you, just like we used to when we were little do you remember?”
You were unsure of how to react. She was nobility, and even if you were as well, she was at a higher position.
Freydís cold gaze met you once more and you decided the best way to not start any trouble was to leave. You knew Loki could end this, but it was better when you left by yourself, it wouldn’t be right if he we chose you, over his mother’s guests.
So you stood up. “My lady”, you bowed quickly and intended to leave, avoiding Loki’s eyes.
As you left, you heard her scoff in annoyance. “Anyway, we certainly need to dance tomorrow at the ball as Freya’s Day is basically my day too, as we share the same name-
On the way back to your apartment you needed everything you’ve got to not get angry. Nevertheless, you couldn’t help but stamp a little bit too much.
By all means! How can somebody be so rude! Like, yeah, you got it, she’s nobility, a princess, who cares, there was NO need to-
Calm down, y/n
Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalm dooooooooooown.
Deep breaths.
Think of Loki, think of what he had said to you

Oh my Odin
Were you really about to kiss him??
Oh, dear lord

But no matter what, you had hoped, even the tiniest, tiniest bit, to be able to dance even just one, or a half of a dance with him tomorrow. But now this Freya 2.0 has destroyed your hopes.
“Y/N!”
You whirled around to see Thor coming towards you, as usual a big, happy grin on his face.
“Just noticed you walk here, how was it?” He winked and even though nothing really had happened your cheeks heated up.
You sighted a little. “It was great. Only that
well, do you know Freydís?”
Thor’s face fell. “Oh.”
“Yeah
”
“Oh
Oh, no, don’t worry, she’ll be gone again soon, you’ll see. There’s no need to be concerned or jealous, y/n.”
At this your head shot up. “I’m not jealous!”
Thor tilted his head, smirking. “Sure. So you wouldn’t have anything against it if she would spend the ball with Loki tomorrow?”
“Nope.”
“And dance with him?”
“Nope.”
“The whole evening?”
“If he wants to.”
“What about
eating Frigg Pastries?”
At this you squeezed your eyes dangerously. “She wouldn’t dare”, you rumbled dimly.
Thor laughed out loud and shook his head. “Well, then I suggest you show them what’s in you.”
The next day you haven’t seen neither Loki nor Thor and thank Odin neither Freydís. They were all probably too engaged in the last preparations. A certain someone needed to look even more dashing as she will be at the side of a certain prince the whole evening.
You had been trying to convince yourself to not be bitter about her, Loki and the whole situation. You knew, how much you meant to Loki, even as just best friends, you were important to him and no woman, may she be ever so beautiful and charming, could
 well actually she could
No, she couldn’t replace you, at least not in that way.
You shook your head in annoyance. These thoughts were making you crazy!
But still, this certain sparkling green eyes and mischievous smile wouldn’t leave your mind.
Were you even prepared to be able watching him dance and joke around the whole evening with her?
No matter what, you were determined to look good, more than good today und prepared the best dress you could find.
“Oh darling, you look stunning!” your mother exclaimed as you walked into the saloon to meet up with your parents.
“Isn’t it a bit too stunning? It’s just a ball?”
“Well, father, it’s our last ball together for a long time, after all. People shouldn’t tend to forget us, should they?” You answered winking. “I think we are ready, right, Mom?”
Your mother eyed you a little suspicious, her instinct telling her that there’s more than you tell. “Right, honey.” She nodded slowly, linking your arm in hers. “Let’s have a wonderful evening.”
The guards opened the doors and you were greeted by so shining golden light, wonderful music, people dancing, talking, sitting or eating.
“Oh, Frigga just surpassed herself once again. It’s so astonishing!” you heard your mother exclaim delightful. You smiled a little before excusing yourself for a while.
Honestly you felt good. You tried not to let the sadness inside your head, instead you wanted to enjoy this ball, this evening. You loved your outfit, and you even earned some compliments during small talks. It was difficult not trying to search for the princes as you usually spend balls and other gatherings together, but it would be probably for the best if you skipped this little tradition for today.
Anyway
you knew where you would find yourself sooner or later and frankly you hoped it was sooner, because you were already hungry.
After some more small talks you finally reached the huge buffet table and tried not to squeal in joy when you spotted the Frigg pastries on a golden tablet.
“Oh, hello my beauties. I love you so much.”
You try your hardest not to inhale them, but they are just so rarely served

“I’m not even in the slightest surprised to find you here.”
Your mouth full with pastries you barely managed to not choke when you suddenly heard his voice close behind you.
Very close.
“You have always been so obsessed with them, I will never understand why”, Loki continued.
You swallowed the pastries, inhaled deeply and then turned around.
“That’s because you never-“ You stopped. Loki was wearing a royal suit, you have – sadly- never seen on him. Of course in his favourite colours, golden and green. The colours only making his eyes shine even more brightly.
Loki lifted his eyebrow. “Never what?”
Right. You forced your eyes back up to his face and swallowed again.
Dear Love, Y/N
straight face. You cleared your throat.
“Because you never had taste. Clearly.”
Surprisingly he didn’t answer. Instead his eyes widen a little, trying to take you all in without his eyes leaving yours even for a second.
The corners of his lips twitched a little before he bent his head a little and offered his hand.
“My lady, would you give me the honor of this dance?”
Oh dear Odin, not gonna lie
 that was hot.
Once more, you cleared your throat, tying to control your emotions and ignoring every fibre of your body that shouted to just say yes.
“I thought you were reserved for Lady Freydís?”
The prince looked up in confusion. “Why would you think that?”
“I-I well, she settled for both of you to dance and she’s the princess or whatever, I mean I
”
You shut up when the realization dawned you, that no matter what, no matter who, Loki will stay Loki and always do what he wants. How could you forget that?
“I have standards, Y/N,” he said bluntly and looked as if you’d offended him.
“And I fit these standards?”
“You preset them.”
You stared at him a little taken back.
I will never be able to predict him in any way
Softly he placed your hand in his own and you let him, smiling softly when the prince lead you towards the other dancers.
You put your hand on his shoulder and Loki his other hand on your waist. You looked up.
His face was so close
Loki smiled, a breathtaking genuine smile and not even Odin could have stopped you from returning the smile.
The music started
 and then you danced.
Looking back, you wouldn’t be able what music was being played, nor what you were actually dancing. All you will be remember was his eyes looking at you, with such gentleness, his smile on his lips that never vanished even for a second. There were only him and you, no one and nothing more.
“I feel the need to give my apologies for what happened yesterday,” he started.
You wanted to protest, because honestly nothing of that mattered anymore, but he continued.
“It wasn’t Freydís place to treat you in such way, princess or not and I think I made this very clear.”
At your startled expression he chuckled amused. “Don’t worry, she’s all right
I guess.”
At this you gave him a slight clap. “Loki!”
“May I notice how tremendously magnificent you look?”
“You may, your majesty. Thus I can only give in return,” you replied grinning.
And then he kissed you.
Just like that.
Both hands gently on your cheeks, stroking your hair behind your ears.
Just like that.
You stood there, surrounded by dancing couples, music playing, people talking around you.
But in this moment there was just him.
And there will forever only be him.
Loki.

He is complicated
Synopsis: Vanya spends some alone time with Ivar again.

I don't own the gifs. Also, thank you for your support. I really appreciate it.
Tumblr media
After supper, Vanya steeled herself for what's to come. She kept imagining all worst-case scenarios and preying that she was just paranoid.
She hid the needle in her dress like planned and waited on the chair by the fire for everything to grow silent. The redhead sat in the same chair she sat yesterday. The chair to her left was empty, yet it still felt like he sat there watching her. Just like he did in the morning, he didn't compliment her as everybody else did.
With one last deep breath and double-check that the weapon was hidden, she made her way to Ivar's chambers. She kept looking over her shoulder as if one of his brothers would jump out and ask her where she was going.
Gathering all the courage she had left in her, she knocked on his door. "Come in." She opened the door and looked into his room. It wasn't that different from hers. A bed, chairs by a fireplace, and a desk. He sat by the fire with something in his hands.
"Come sit, why are you standing there?" He urged her forward with a wave of his hand. He looked excited, which made her curious. So she complied and sat down next to him—the same position as yesterday, only in a different room.
"How was your day, Ivar?" She asked politely. They talked at the table, but it was in Norse, so she didn't get much out of the conversation.
"We caught a boar, some rabbits, and fish." Ivar kept looking at his hands. That's when she noticed a knife in them. She stiffened, scared for what he would do. Slowly she moved her hand to the place where she hid the needle.
He looked at her from the corner of his eyes and drew in a deep breath before extending his hand to her. But not the one that was holding the knife. "Take it." He urged her, opening up his palm.
Vanya couldn't believe her eyes. Inside his outstretched hand laid a wood carving of a wolf with its mouth open. It was beautiful. "You made this?" She questioned just to be sure she didn't imagine it.
The ginger reached for the figure and clasped it in her hand, looking it over with adoration in her eyes.
Ivar nodded his head and looked away from her supporting his chin on his palm. His right hand played with the knife that he used to craft her gift. "I did it while my brothers went fishing. It's Fenrir."
Vanya looked up at him curiously, all thought of danger in the back of her mind. "Who is Fenrir?"
The youngest son of Ragnar slowly blinked like he didn't understand the question. "Fenrir is a giant wolf who will swallow the sun during Ragnarok."
"And what is Ragnarok."
"The end of everything."
Vanya watched him in shock. It was a sweet gesture to give her a gift. On the other hand, a giant wolf from the end of the world is not that romantic. Despite her thoughts did she smile at him.
The smile made him pause. It was broad and made Vanya's blue eyes shine. She looked breathtaking at that moment. She radiated pure happiness, wore a dress that complimented her, and made her red hair stand out. And the glow from the fire made her look like a goddess to him. Freya.
"It is beautiful. Thank you very much, Ivar." Even her voice was perfect. Ivar shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts and cleared his throat.
"You are welcome. I like your dress." Ubbe told him to pay her compliments, so he did. The dress does look great on her.
"Thank you. You inspired me to wear it." Vanya admitted shyly, looking away from him with rosy cheeks.
The prince's brows furrowed. His head tilted to the side, thinking about everything he told her yesterday. "And how did I do that?"
She wanted to dig her own grave at that exact moment. Why did she say that? What happened to being cautious of him?"Your eyes." She whispered, refusing o look at him., which works for Ivar.
His stony face was shocked, and his mouth was open. He didn't expect that. Neither of them said anything. An awkward silence overtook them. She needed to think of anything to say. "Can you tell me more? Of your gods?"
Ivar eyed the fire in front of him, not trusting himself to look at her. So he talked of his gods. Of Odin and his wife, Frigg, of their son Baldur and his death. Or the God of mischief Loki and his three children. He talked of Thor and his mighty hammer, Mjolnir. He told her about Freya and her brother Freyr. After she kept asking, he even told her how the world would end.
It was all so different from her religion. There were so many powerful gods and great stories. Their lying snake was Loki and not Satan; they had no Virgin Mary, no Jesus. It was so foreign, but so intriguing she couldn't stop listening. Recounting her faith is a sin that she will have to commit to the man before her. But God never listened to her. Maybe Ivar's gods will.
He talked of them with such passion and belief it made her envious. She was Christian because it was the right thing to do. To live a holy life as God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost command. Yet she never viewed her faith the way Ivar sees his. Perhaps the pagan gods are her destiny.
"Wait. Loki gave birth to a horse?"
"Yes. Sleipnir. It had eight legs." The seriousness in his face made her pause. He wasn't joking.
"How does that even work. I know he can change forms, but that is insane." She shook her head in disbelief, causing Ivar to laugh. She shot him a weak glare. "Are you laughing at me, Ivar?"
"Oh, I would not dare. You must have imagined it." He was teasing her, and she liked it. This Ivar before her was nothing like the one Sigurd spoke of. How could this man be a monster? She was right all along. He is only pretending. She is sure of it.
"To be honest, I was worried about what you would do today." This made him stop laughing. The stone-cold face was back as was the hardness of his eyes.
He stared at her for a long time before he looked away, offended. Whatever he was looking for in her eyes, he didn't find it.  "I saw you talking to Sigurd. He told you bad things about me, didn't he?"
Vanya gulped and bobbed her head up and down slowly. Her hand twitched to reach for the needle. He still held the knife in his hand. It would only be fair if she were armed herself. Granted, his weapon was more dangerous than hers. And he was a trained warrior. "He told me you killed a boy when you were a child. He said how you treated slaves. He said to beware of you. I told him that I don't see you as a monster."
The last sentence made him pause. "Why?" He wanted to know the answer so badly. Everyone saw him as a monster. A crippled, crude thing that no one loved except his mother.
The Saxon Princess mulled her next words over. He wanted her to be more confident. Say what she meant to say. She hopes he isn't regretting that choice now. "You don't seem like an evil man to me. You talk to me, encourage me, compliment me, and give me gifts. That doesn't look monstrous to me."
Ivar looked at her with an unreadable expression on his face. The stare took to long for her liking and made her feel uneasy all over again. He was reading her face like an open book. Looking for a sign, she was lying and saying these things to save her skin. "I am not a good man."
"Maybe not. But no one is truly good. Everybody sins. And you are a Viking. Your people are different."
"And what do you know of my people?" The question started her. It was simple, yet so complicated, just like him.
She nervously twiddled with her fingers. If Ivar didn't regret telling her to be confident, she sure was. "I know somethings from the attacks on our countries. How you steal, murder, and rape. That is why I was so terrified of what you would do. I know you promised not to hurt me. But... Not every promise is to be kept."
"Is that all?" Did he have enough of her? "What else did you hear?" Oh. Well that she could answer.
"You sacrifice humans for your gods. You share your women. You are descendants of the devil. Barely human. You eat human flesh and drink the blood of newborn children." Ivar sorted out a laugh at that shocking her.
"You think we drink child blood?" His chuckles were not what she expected at all. "You people are so creative."
After he calmed down, he threw his knife away and fixed her with a look. His eyes were shining. He shifted in his seat and exhaled. "I did what Sigurd said I did. But I would not hurt you. I told you I would protect you. And I keep my promises. I swear it on my gods."
Vanya nodded, feeling guilty. She shouldn't. She had every right to doubt him. He is a savage—a heathen who hurts everybody in his path. Yet her chest felt heavy. "I didn't mean to offend you. I... I am scared. Kattegat is so different. I don't fit in. I don't understand what you speak of. Your traditions and gods are new to me. I am afraid."
"You are going to be the wife of a son of Ragnar Lothbrok. No one will dare to do anything to you. You will no longer be a Christian a get used to our traditions."
"I want to learn your language. So I can talk to you. Talk to the people of Kattegat." Vanya leaned towards him eagerly as he raised an eyebrow at her confession.
"Why?" As proud as he was about her desire to learn his language, he and his brothers understood her. That was enough. There was no need for her to talk to anybody else.
"You said it yourself. I am to be the wife of a son of Ragnar Lothbrok. The wife of a prince should be able to talk to her people. Understand them to understand their problems. I don't want to sit by your side and look pretty. I want to help people. If I am to be your wife, then I want them to love me."
Ivar smirked at her and leaned back in his chair. He closed his eyes for a moment before he tilted his head towards her. He locked gazes with her and nodded. "Fine. I will teach you." Vanya smiled at him again with that brilliant smile and blush.
"Thank you, Ivar." The said man only waved his hand in dismissal. It didn't bother him to teach her. At least he had an excuse to spend time with her during the day. He could try books so that she could read the language as well. It was worth a try.
"I should probably go back to bed. The sun will rise soon." How quick time passes when she is around him. Ivar looked out of the window to confirm her words for himself. And indeed, the sky was changing colors already.
"Good night, then, Vanya."
"Good night, Ivar." And so she retreated to her chambers and laid in her bed with Fenrir in her hand.

Hello, I hope you have a nice evening, morning, afternoon or whenever you read it and in whole just a good day🌾 Secondly I'd like to ask: how would Loki react, if Elliot doesn't think girls are 'bleegh' anymore? Would Loki give Elliot advice on how he courted the reader? I'm sorry if you don't take these requests and I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable in any way. Stay healthy and happy🌾
thankyouforrequestingthissokindlywtfthatmademesohappy
also i know i didn’t get to the actual “advice” but this was getting really long so that part will be a separate drabble h e h
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
“Hey, dad?”
Loki nods, biting the tip of his tongue as he carefully measures a teaspoon of olive oil. “Hm?”
“You busy right now?”
“A bit,” he murmurs, focusing on not spilling—the tiny little measuring spoons you got years ago are much to small for his fingers.
Elliot quickly nods. “Gotcha. I’ll, um, come back later.”
“No, no, I can multitask, what can I do for you?”
“It’s all good,” Elliot assures him, backing out of the kitchen. “It’s stupid anyways, I’ll just ask mom or look it up or something.”
“Elliot,” Loki laughs, setting down the olive oil and grabbing a wooden spoon, pointing it at his son, then at the fridge. “Talk to me. And get me a stick of butter, I could use the help.”
A little smile lights the kid’s face and he rushes to the fridge, grabbing the butter and tossing it to Loki. “You know I can’t cook,” he reminds him, leaning against the counter as Loki mixes. “So I don’t think I can be of much help, but I’ll try.”
“You didn’t get that from me,” Loki chuckles. “Blame your mother. What did you need?”
“That’s kinda what I wanted to ask you about.”
“Your mother?” Loki glances at the time—good, you’re not supposed to be home for another hour. “Are you wondering how she ended up with someone like me?”
“Not really, I think I get that part,” Elliot replies, rubbing the back of his neck. “Kind of. I don’t know. Um, I just was wondering if you, um
”
“
yes?”
“If-if you could maybe, I don’t know, give me some advice?”
The wooden spoon falls to the counter with a clatter.
Oh, no big deal, Loki’s son just came to him seeking advice, trusting him to lead him in the right direction with his knowledge and guidance, trusting him not to steer him wrong, that’s all.
Easily one of the best moments in Loki’s thousands of years of life.
“O-of course, I’d be happy to help,” he stutters, quickly trying to cover his surprise. “Advice with what?”
A relieved grin breaking over his lips, Elliot shuffles a little closer to his dad at the stove. “There’s, uh, this girl.”
Loki all but chokes, dropping the spoon in his risotto and whirling around to his son.
“There’s a WHAT??”
“A girl,” Elliot laughs sheepishly, picking up the fallen spoon and handing it back to Loki. “C’mon, dad, don’t make this weird.”
“Okay, right, sure.” Loki nods, trying to control his grin. “What advice do you need?”
“Well, I, um, don’t know if she likes me back.”
“You are in love with someone who doesn’t like you?”
“No!” Elliot backtracks, eyes wide. “No, no, no, I didn’t say I’m in love with her, yikes, no—”
“Why do you say that like it’s a bad thing?”
“I can’t be in love, dad, that’s
not possible. I just like her.”
“Not possible,” Loki repeats slowly, going back to his cooking. “You know, your mother tried to kill me when we first met. I didn’t think loving her would be possible either, but here we are.”
“So you’re saying if Morgan tries to kill me, she might love me?” Elliot snorts and shakes his head. “Nah, thanks, dad. I think you and mom were just a little weird. Special case.”
No answer.
Loki’s frozen at the stove, knuckles turning white around the handle of his spoon—he must have misheard the name.
Not Morgan
Stark, right?
“N-no,” he tries to bring himself back, give the best advice he can—giving advice? Yeah, this is a first for Loki. “I only mean to say
love, if you, erm, believe in that sort of thing, it’s—it’s different for everyone, a-and you never know where you might find it—”
“But I know where I found it,” Elliot cuts in, confusion etching itself into his brow as Loki rambles. “I just don’t know what to do with it. What’d you do when you figured out you loved mom?”
Loki swallows thickly. Gods, he wishes you were home for this conversation. The puberty talk was fun enough on his own, but now this?
A little part of him wonders if it’s healthy to be scared to talk to your children, yet here he is, heart pounding and palms starting to sweat as Elliot waits for him to answer.
Elliot repeats the question, a little quieter, gentler this time.
Oh, gods.
“Y-you should ask your mother,” he quietly offers, keeping his gaze trained on his cooking. “She’s better at this, all these, ah
” he breathes a quiet laugh. “Emotions.”
His dish isn’t turning out well, honestly, the rice is a bit burned and the sauce seems to be about to break on him. Wonderful.
It was supposed to be a surprise for you, since you’d been gone most of the day after weeks of little sleep, a surplus of work, and Frigg deciding she “doesn’t need third grade” after all.
For the record, he’s a supporter of the little movement.
“Okay.” Elliot nods, glancing at the mess on the counter. “Do you want some time alone? You don’t look too good, I don’t want to be a bother
”
“No,” Loki snaps and his fist hits the countertop, sending measuring cups flying as he stares at his failed meal.
Elliot flinches and takes a step back.
“Mom’ll be home any minute,” he reminds him, palms up in front of him. “I’m sorry, I’m really, really sorry if I said something, dad, really—”
“Please don’t leave.” Loki’s voice cracks and Elliot gulps.
“Okay.”
A moment passes, Loki hunched over the counter and gripping the edge in a white-knuckled hold, Elliot watching cautiously from the doorway, picking at the palm of one hand.
Laughter breaks the silence, Loki’s, Elliot realises, his dad is laughing now and sounds borderline psychotic.
“What did I do?” Loki turns to him, eyes bloodshot and swimming with unfalling tears. “Yes
what did I do when I realised I loved your mother?”
Elliot just stares, wishing you were here, too.
“You want to know—w-what I did,” Loki laughs behind a wet sniff, “when I realised I loved your mother? I denied it for months, Elliot, and I treated her like a piece of shit.”
A hollow, dull ache fills the boy’s chest and the room goes cold—Loki doesn’t cuss in front of him or Frigg; only on the rarest of occasions when he needs to really, really emphasise a point.
“I acted like I hated her,” he spits out, eyes flashing, “and many times convinced myself that I did, a-and when I finally admitted I-I loved her, she wanted nothing to do with me because I’d ruined every single chance to love her with my arrogance a-and my stupidity—”
“Dad, dad, easy,” Elliot laughs nervously, rushing to Loki’s side and laying a cautious hand on his arm. “It’s alright.”
Loki pauses, taking a deep breath and glaring at the ground, hating himself for snapping so easily in front of his son.
“Is this
something to do with your past?”
Ignorant little boy. Beautiful, ignorant, clueless, perfect little boy.
“The part you won’t tell us about,” Elliot clarifies. “‘Cause I didn’t mean to trigger anything, dad, I’m sorry, I really didn’t.”
“Don’t apologise.” Loki runs a hand over his face, exhaling heavily and trying to rub away the tears left in his eyes. “Gods, don’t ever apologise to me, I don’t deserve that.”
“Okay, but—”
“And you’d never be a bother,” he keeps whispering, an intensity in his voice to match that burning in his eyes when he grabs Elliot by the shoulders and bends down to eye level. “Thank you for coming to me, I-I’m so sorry I did this to you, put you through this—”
“We’re baaack!”
Frigg flounces through the door, slamming it behind her—right in your face, but you just sigh and trudge in after her.
“There she is,” Loki laughs, squeezing Elliot’s arm once more before bending down to swoop his little princess into his arms.
A flicker of light flashes over Loki’s face, a split second of changing energy, too quick for your tired eyes to catch or for Frigg to notice in the midst of her hug—Elliot sees it.
He glances up at his father, seeing a smiling, fresh face, full of light and nothing like the broken man he’d just encountered.
Elliot’s learning that his dad is a really good liar.
“Get expelled yet?” Loki plants a kiss on Frigg’s cheek, smiling all the while.
“Not yet,” she giggles, hugging him tight around the neck. “M’gonna need some help for that.”
“Just tell me what you need.”
“Loki,” you yawn, waving a hand at the three of them. “Don’t encourage this, she’s already gaining supporters on the playground.”
“Are you really?” Loki sets her down, grabbing her hand and guiding her in a quick twirl. “You’ll be a fearsome queen one day, Frigg. I can already see you on your throne, leading your people to prosper—”
“How about a shower for her majesty first,” you jump in with a pointed look to your husband, “and ruling kingdoms later??”
“I would listen to the current queen, if I were you.” Loki raises an eyebrow at his daughter. “Obey and you might just survive her rule.”
Frigg immediately straightens up, flinging a stiff salute at you and bolting off down the hallway to her room.
“Good lord,” you groan, sinking into a chair at the table. “She’s
she’s
your child.”
You wave a hand at Loki.
“Goddess of mischief,” he laughs, and Elliot glances at him—there’s no use hiding it anymore, right? Frigg’s gone, you’re here

Nope. Loki walks to your side, tilts your head up to plant a kiss to your lips, brushing his thumb over your cheek as you hum happily and lean against him.
“Well, I attempted a risotto.” Loki sighs and gestures at the mess across the kitchen. “I had hoped to surprise you, but
no such luck.”
“Aw, thank you,” you mumble, reaching for him again and pulling him down for another sloppy kiss. “S’sweet of you, I bet it’s really good.”
“It’s
not.”
Elliot wants to laugh, awkwardly watching the two of you, but it’s more painful than heartwarming or humorous to watch his dad act this time, knowing what he’s really hiding.
“Want me to order takeout again?” Plastering a smile on his face, Elliot walks over and gives you a quick hug.
“That
might be best,” you reply, hugging your son back and giving Loki a sheepish grin over his shoulder. “Unless you wanna eat it anyways, Loki?”
“No.” Loki shakes his head with a laugh. “I’ll cook for you tomorrow, it’ll be better, I promise.”
Elliot desperately wants to say something, warn you about what happened and suggest maybe you eat the attempted meal anyways, but Loki just smiles and laughs and ruffles a hand through his hair.
“Thanks, Elliot.”
His smile seems sad behind the facade, and he squeezes Elliot’s arm as he walks by—almost like he wants to say something more.
But he doesn’t, he takes your hand in his and follows you as you lead him out of the kitchen, apparently unbothered by what just happened.

leaving Elliot standing in the middle of the kitchen, extremely confused.
* * * *
After a lovely dinner with thankfully only one wonton thrown across the table—you’d expected Frigg to start it, but nope, thanks, Loki, very mature—you noticed Loki’s a bit
off.
Not terribly off, no, just acting a little bit strange.
A little distant, distracted, and he doesn’t even laugh when you tell him about the “mimicking the principals voice and telling her teacher he’s fired” phone call that Frigg had managed to pull off today.
His mind is clearly elsewhere as you kiss your kids goodnight and send them off to bed, clearly elsewhere when you drag him out of his little library-office to go get ready for bed, only for him to flop onto the mattress and curl in on himself, hugging his knees to his chest.
“Okay, what’s going on?”
Climbing onto the bed and poking his turned back, you peek over his shoulder. “Seriously, Loki, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” He pulls a pillow over his head.
Very. Very. Mature.
“You’re a bad liar,” you sing, yanking the pillow off his head and pressing a loud smooch to his cheek before he can protest. “How many times do I have to tell you? I can see right through you, trickster.”
“You’re just nosy,” he grumbles, but sits up and crosses his arms. “I only ruined every good idea my son may have had of me, that’s all, will you leave me alone now?”
You blink a couple times in shock, flabbergasted and more than confused.
“What are you talking about?? Elliot loves you, he thinks you’re incredible!” You scramble over the bed to wrap your arms around him, hugging him tight to your chest. “You’re his biggest role model, his hero, my hero, and we love you. And like hell I’m gonna leave you alone, nice try.”
“He came to me asking for my advice.”
“Loki, that’s amazing,” you murmur, stroking a hand through his hair. “I can only imagine how much that must mean to you, that’s wonderful, snowflake—”
“Know what I did?”
Voice gone sour, he pushes out of your hug and looks you intently in the eye.
“Yelled,” he hoarsely tells you. “I yelled and I punched the counter and I told him that I hated you, and-and I cried, I broke down and wept in front of my son like a fool, a-and—”
A sob cracks through the room.
“Fuck.” He drops his head to his hands, shoulders shaking. “Damn it, I can’t stop fucking crying.”
Heart pounding, you hurry to sit on the edge of the bed next to him, rubbing a comforting hand up and down his spine.
“Hey, Loki, honey
where’s all this coming from?”
“Like hell I know,” he spits, hiding his face in his hands, hunched over with elbows on his knees as you try to comfort him. “I had a chance. I had a fucking chance with him and I threw it away, made his ‘advice’ all about my own sick problems like the selfish, fucking idiot I am.”
“Loki! You’re not selfish, what the hell are you talking about?”
“Yes, I am, my son came to me admitting to possibly being in love with someone and by the end of the conversation, my son was comforting me, being gentle with me, reassuring me in my relationship—”
“Wait, wait, Elliot’s in love with someone?”
Loki’s mouth snaps shut—the more he thinks about it, he’d nearly forgotten the initial topic of Elliot’s asking for advice.
“That’s what he told me,” he answers quietly, staring at his hands. “Someone named Morgan. We didn’t even get to talk much about it before I ruined the moment, as you know I do so well.”
A smile tugs at the corners of your mouth as you take his hands in yours—finally, Elliot.
“Well, that’s wonderful,” you laugh, rubbing his back and tilting his head up with a finger under his chin. “But know what’s even better?”
The glare Loki shoots you could only be described as royal.
“He told you.” Your fingers curl around his jaw and you pull him closer. “Your son still told you that, he came to you and wanted to share that with you, he wanted your advice, Loki.”
“Yes, and I ruined it and pushed him away like I always do, I just told him to go talk to you.”
“He didn’t.” Resting your forehead against his, you stroke a thumb along his jaw, smiling softly at him. “He never said anything about this to me, snowflake, he wants you to help him.”
“Oh.”
Loki falls silent, head slowly leaning into your touch.
Whenever you hold him like this, arm around his shoulders and now hugging his head in the crook of your neck, running languid fingers through his hair, Loki swears he can count the days of his life.
This seems so
mortal. This whole failure thing.
Humans are so good at failing—it’s the one thing he’s noticed since he first started watching Midgard.
You’re good at failing. It doesn’t scare you, it seems; you rush head-on into uncharted territory and look for things to try, just so you can fail and try again.
You actually like his failures, calling them opportunities and learning experiences and helping him back up, forgiving him time and time again like the clueless idiot you must be to love him—
More failure, his mind spins, just another person to disappoint.
He’s known that since the first moment he held Elliot’s tiny form in his hands.
Your fingers curl and brush through his hair, heartbeat steady under his head.
“
what do I do?”
You press your lips to his forehead, brushing some strands of hair behind his ear. “You could start by going a little easier on yourself. Have some faith that you’re not completely unlovable.”
He gives a dry laugh. “Not completely?”
“Mmm
I don’t know,” you giggle, hoping your smile can help get him back on his feet. “There’s just something about you I can’t help but love.”
Half a lopsided smile tugs at his lips.
“I’ll try.”
“Good.” You hop to your feet to stand in front of him, grabbing his face between your hands and gazing seriously into his eyes. “Know what else?”
“What?”
“I’m pretty sure Elliot’s room is just a hallway away. And I’m pretty sure he’s still awake, wondering how the hell to successfully court a certain fair maiden.”
“Oh, gods, no.” Loki stands up, furiously shaking his head. “What am I supposed to tell him? Well,” he sarcastically starts, “you could always burn down her office building, asking her to kill you seemed to work well for me—”
“No, no, no,” you laugh, jumping up after him and pulling him into another hug. “Just talk to him about
doing nice things for her, things he wouldn’t normally do. Just get him to talk about his feelings about her, and report everything back to me, I’ve been waiting years for these two to get together.”
Loki frowns. “You know this girl?”
“You do, too, snowflake.” A giddy grin spreads across your face. “Morgan?”
“Wait, no.” His eyes wide, he takes a step away from you. “No, no, no, not Morgan Stark, tell me it’s not her.”
Biting back a laugh, you raise an eyebrow at him. “Do you know any other Morgans?”
“My son is in love with Tony Stark’s daughter.”
“Get used to it.”
“Do you have any idea what hell this is going to unleash?? Stark is going to wring my neck, and gods forbid Elliot ever upset her—if he even allows it—or it’s my own back taking the lashings—”
“Just go,” you laugh, pushing him towards the door. “Teach him how to be just as romantic as you are and just as adorable and absolutely, completely irresistible.”

When dedicating stuff like arts and crafts to a god, do you think they'd get angry if it's "bad"? Like, you put effort and love into it, but you're just not that good at painting or baking yet! (I'm looking up stuff on Bragi and I'm not finding a lot, but what I did find says you shouldn't dedicate your writing to him if you're not good enough, or he'll be displeased. To me that doesn't sound *right*, just a mean and horrible thing to tell anyone, but I am just a curious stranger to all this.)
Nah.
I dedicated my first bit of handspun to Frigg. And look. it was awful. It was really bad. I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing. It was overspun and uneven and underspun in other bits and just. Bad.
And she adores it.
Bragi is not one I’ve worked with much, but I can’t see him being displeased with such a thing. I mean, if you purposefully wrote something awful, maybe. But if you did your best and put your heart into it? Then that is a part of your journey towards getting better at something, and is a brilliant offering.
So I think it’s less a matter of the objective quality, and more how hard you tried on the thing. It’s the effort involved, and the learning, that are just as important or more so than objective quality. An offering should mean something.
Does that make sense?

I narrated that whole last thing
Hera
He was helping a little and they work out together but here it is these children of hours are going nuts for the stuff and the children have asked everybody who has children is saying what the hell is this it's like Jason moving around in their house usually is bad in this case it's not but they want them to buy it so they could be looking for your credit card and there might be some attempted runaways it's happening in some cases. So everybody be careful and they're looking like this I don't want us talking about it and you can order a windshield for any of them except the teen version and the adult version come with it so I guess you can order one for the children if you want to and they come with paint that you apply and you're giving instructions and some decals they can order decal kits from that very place or you can have a custom one made and the phone is off the hook a lot of people want custom ones and they want to do like Luke George's 8 ball on fire and they want to do flaming skulls tons of people want to do the flaming skulls cuz I hate Trump and he was killing their people there's a huge number of people that want to put the nazgul on there cuz they're evil and that's who Trump is. Giant numbers of people want to put the angel of death and there's a huge following of putting Odin on there and me Thor and Freya and Frigg and Frigg is Hera. There's a giant number of people that want to put the band names of what's been playing and song names on there and or like images from the videos it's huge it is a huge new thing and we have a lot of online and I'm going to put them with these things and there's a lot of people who want to put like a team like they're racing team and there's going to be a circuit made for racing these and a lot of golf cart races sorry go-kart tracks are big enough yes to race the 8 to 12 year old cars and the other ones you need to have a crack that's a little bit bigger and there are tracks out there and they're kind of regular race tracks for like the funny cars and they're not dirt and these kids are going to try and get in there so if you hear the engine at night but really the exhaust is different and they sound cool and they can put it like a mean exhaust on and they're going to put the flames on the front and all sorts of cool things and they look at the cars from the 50s and 60s and hot rods and put stuff on there like it and it's going to be intense.
Thor Freya
That was pretty a lot of stuff into this one and my husband did some
Hera Zues
You is guys who have to say something this is awesome he's been trying to do this forever and people races downhill without the motor and they have motors of their own and their lawn mower motors and tons of people have them okay so they want to put their own motoring and it doesn't cost them anything. They say the kit is expensive but they do see what it is and he's offering a reduced kit discount on each one of them and he's going to have templates for the plywood so it's like a template for cutting cloth for costumes or cosplay and some people know about it and you get a certain plywood a specific you have to get the exact plywood for work right are you going to cut it fairly close but almost exactly what you doing the certain blade on a jigsaw and you can follow it but if you put the pattern on it you draw the line and it's harder paper so it works pretty good and then you cut the plywood out reductionist price in price is significant it's like $250 off each version and as you go up it's more money so the child version is less 250 if you do the template only the 12 to 17 year old is less 350 and the adult version is less 450. Now this is getting a lot of interest huge numbers of people are going to buy these and the template kit comes with a chassis you need a real chassis that's metal it's just the whole body that you would be building like in pinewood derby and people are loving it cuz that's how pinewood derby comes.
We're going ahead with this and we're hiring people who want to volunteer and please our people if you want to do this duty sign on and or volunteer right now we need tons of people for it we have orders of 10 to 20 octillion in the area and we haven't put it out there yet

I would raise one single objection against Lokis automatic ascension to the throne: do we know enough about succession in Asgard to say with certainty that the son of the King is automatically proclaimed King after his death or absence? Or that Frigg is in the position to proclaim it?
My argument is based on Kings in early medieval Scandinavia, which after all is the society from which the inspirational matrial sprung:
the Crown was not inherited but a king had to be ELECTED and could be contested before that(Everyone doesn't get a vote, but still) In Sweden this is up until the 1500s.
Now, here, the new king was still LIKELY to be the son of the old king, but it was not set in stone. If the son is weak, very young, or deeply unpopular, someone else could stake a claim based on relations on the female side as well. A king-candidate still needed to raise support, and go on a tour of the country to be officially proclaimed in all important places (At the Ting. An excellent opportunity to be murdered without support) , and the crown passed between several families and back again . You can't back your claim, you're, simply put, not king.
Of course Odin says to the children in the flashback scene that one of them is going to be king, but that doesn't necessarily negate my suggestion. Sons of Kings were still the most likely to win.
My defense of Sif and the warriors three is that Lokis ascension was very much a NON PUBLIC AFFAIR, done hastily, and without that many witnesses present. Something seems off about it. Which to me, is the formal approval of the population in some way. Would Loki have gotten it? I don't know. Maybe.
Now ofc Marvel has been playing very fast and loose with their saga material, but the source material still comes from a context and a society. simply going for the Primigeniture 101 option I think would be a bit lazy on their part. And if I'm right, then Volstagg and crew are not traitors, so much as very rude and bad friends to Loki.
I also think, unlike Taika Waititi and the movie that should not be mentioned, that Loki would have made a good king, and that Frigga is not a fool to have thought so aswell. Because in this household we love and appreciate Frigga. This is not an anti-Loki post.
do the warriors three and lady sif know how the line of succession to the throne works? loki did not steal nor usurp the throne. odin was practically in a coma and thor was banished to earth. loki was next in line so it was logical that he should be king. who the fuck was supposed to be on the throne?

My asatru friend (who I haven't seen in a decade) is pregnant. She likes fire and knives and things, but do you know if there is anything specific i can orshould get her for her baby shower? I'm a more ecclectic pagan, but she doesn't know that
Well. As much as I love knives, they’re hardly baby-appropriate. At least until the baby gets old enough to be taught how to use them safely.
(Also, congrats to her!!!! May Frigg watch over her, and her pregnancy and delivery be safe, and may her child be healthy!)
My standard ‘someone is having a baby’ gift is to make them a baby blanket, and work in a pattern that is relevant. I just made a Batman blanket for my friend T’s son. I make them big, too, so the kiddo can use them as they grow, drag them about, make blanket forts with them, ect.
However, if you aren’t the crafty sort, there are hundreds if not thousands of crafters selling any design imaginable on teh internetz.
For example, this protection rune-sigil on Cafepress.
