On the other hand I want him to get seriously sick or injured or something and be absolutely blindsided by how much it affects the people around him. I want Kakashi taking care of him the whole time, tirelessly, sleeplessly, being wracked with what-if's. I want Gai covering his shifts and classes without being asked and looking after the kids. I want Asuma taking vigil at his bedside, standing guard and tracking who goes in or out of the room.
